2024.05.14 21:17 bradtem Here, FYI, are the NHTSA reports on the Waymo incidents under investigation

I extracted the NHTSA reports for the incidents in the Waymo investigation. There are 22 incidents, these are just the ones in the NHTSA database, not including the handful of non-crash ones such as driving on the wrong side of the road. These reports are vague and in the ones marked as crashes with other vehicles, there is no information on who was at fault or other useful stuff. But the long and short of it is that out of a million trips, if these are the crashes most worth investigating, it's pretty mild stuff. I will write up more on this later for Forbes' site. Passengers were present in the vehicles for 11 of these, no injuries.

2024.05.14 21:17 SatisfactionThese686 Any advice - has anyone dealt with this when it comes to a manipulative person rewriting history?

If you have ever been in a relationship with someone who was manipulative (in the lines of a covert narcissist) have you ever exposed them and felt that you had found your voice and done the right thing to stand up for yourself or did you regret it and found it a waste of energy?
I was in a relationship with someone 30 years older than me for 7+ years,I met this person in my 20s when I was just learning about myself and getting some freedom from family, after being in abusive environment all my life, I was in a difficult position in certain areas and he basically love bombed until I believed it and so I went for the relationship, he ended up destroying every aspect of my life and my spirit with lies and manipulation, then discarding me and then cycles continued, I lost invaluable years of my youth in this, I went through hell and back many times for 7+ years, I wanted to know the truth of what was going on, it was so hard for me to believe he was hurting me on purpose, and I always thought he was more accomplished than me and a better person than me, so every time I found stuff out, I kept confronting him to get to a resolution, only to be lied by him more and believing it and ended up being hurt again, zero remorse from him for what he put me through.
And on top of it, he used me as a scapegoat for his divorce but he was cheating on his wife for 6+ years before meeting me, he basically made it seem to them like he met me and fell in love and that’s why he got a divorce, this couldn’t be further from the truth and I have proof for it, I never met his adult children but basically the way he spoke about me made it seem that he was always loyal and somehow this just happened or that I wanted him to get a divorce and it was my fault but he pursued me for over a year and lied about things that gave me a different impression of his life, anyways because of how he did things, his children and his whole family thought he is just a nice guy and I was the problem, I have proof that that’s not how things went at all.
I never spoke while in it, first of all he kept me compartmentalized even after marriage but even the times I was included, I was so afraid for so long that I was the crazy one that I just focused on therapy and fixing myself. We have been separated for 3+ years but only the last year I have been able to not allow him back in my life and really see things clearly.
And the past few months with my understanding of my adhd brain, a lot has been making more sense and I have tried to write an email to them explaining how things really went and the lies that he said, he created entire narratives that were lies and he believes them meaning, even if I bring them up to him he will be like, it’s the past and that’s not how he meant it and it’s none of their business to know everything that’s why he didn’t tell them, and he literally will argue over what happened when I was there, he will argue to me in private so I can imagine what he says behind my back, actually some of it I don’t need to imagine it, because 4 years ago I found out emails between him and his kids and they were horrible and it was so traumatic for me along with other things I found out.
This last year I have finally fully moved on emotionally, no longer fall for his manipulations and we are getting a divorce.
Now that I am better, I so badly want to have a voice and speak my truth, but every time I try I end up writing over 10 pages, because it’s that many things to try to explain how I even ended up in this situation. I know and own my part, I know I was stupid and my low esteem and having zero support from anyone else made him the most important person in my life, I used to adore him and it gave him all the supply and sex in the world, I know I missed a million red flags when he felt like my life line, but I can’t help feel with now being older that I was targeted and exploited by this man, and he had done it before and gotten away with it and lately I found out he is doing it again with other young girls in secrecy while he goes around happily seeming like the nice guy who just got caught up in a bad situation. It hurts my soul to not have this cleared up but it’s like my brain can’t explain it in a way that’s short and to the point. I know he has already convinced me that I was crazy in the past and I know he is gonna do that again to basically just put it all on me like he has even in private with me, he has never taken accountability, unless he was trying to manipulate for something he wanted to use me for, then I have gotten an insencere apology and then once he got what he wanted switched again to who he really is.
Has anyone ever spoken the truth about a manipulative person that used you as a scapegoat for his actions, without seeming like the crazy ex?

2024.05.14 21:15 rojnsfak Another Bandon Trip Report

tl;dr: if it's your first time to Bandon, you'll have an amazing time and the facility/resort is as good as advertised. the greens range from good to pretty bad.
Went to Bandon this past weekend for the first time as a solo, and had an absolute blast. Overall, the course are a ton of fun, but the concerns about the greens are unfortunately real. The silver lining is that most of them seem to be trending in the right direction per feedback from caddies and other guests, but there's still rough spots. More details on each course below:
Shorty's: It's gonna be so much fun in a year or two when the fescue completely grows in on the greens. So many cool slopes and potential pin locations, and only a few holes with true forced carries over waste/gorse/etc. The reality is right now the greens are hilariously slow, but if you into it knowing that, and being cool with it, you'll still have an amazing time. Definitely a little more exhausting to play than Preserve (19 vs. 13 holes) and some of the bigger swings/elevation changes come in the last 6 holes.
Sheep Ranch: The good holes are really good, and some of the inland holes are pretty forgettable. You can really feel how tight the acreage is compared to the other courses. That being said, I played it with absolutely zero wind and in 70 degree temps so it was an aytpical experience. The greens are..weird. They range from pretty slow and grown in to sandy and ridiculously fast, sometimes on the same putt. It sounds like they're giving up on keeping the Poa out and hopefully that'll just take over in the next few years. The ending stretch (starting with the Volcano Par 5, #11) is pretty awesome.
Bandon Dunes: Some of the greens have huge dead spots (usually in a line) that make putts impossible going through them. That being said, the sections of the green that are alive and healthy rolled really really well. This wasn't a huge deal on longer lag putts but for things that were more makable, most players and caddies just advised moving it so you had a non-impacted line. For the cost, this is annoying, but again, it was my first time here and the quality of the course had me more stoked than having to adjust a few putts. Personal highlights, tee shot on #3, 2nd shot on #4, tee shot on #10, #13 as a hole, avoiding the bunker (or getting out of it) on #15, #16 as a whole, and figuring out what you want to do on #17.
Trails: It's a really cool track, completely different vibe from the rest of the courses. Neat how it starts out giving you something that feels kinda familiar on #1 and then by #3 you're in a different world. You will likely lose balls on this course without a caddie (or even with one) since the forest can swallow them. Super neat routing around the halfway house from #7 - #10. Tee shot on #11 is super cool, and the 2nd shot on #13 is awesome. #14's green is as broken and unfair as the internet claims, especially if the pin is up front. The closing stretch is tough, no easy holes, plays dead into the wind, and can make any decent round explode from #14 onwards. The greens ranged from excellent to very bumpy, so that gives me hope that they'll continue to improve through the summer.
Old Mac: The greens got punched 5 days prior to me playing it, but apparently they were pure prior to that. Still rolled better as a whole than everywhere except the Preserve. Apart from #1 & #2, every hole had a fascinating tee shot or a green complex that made you thrilled with a 2-putt and accepting of a 3-putt if you were out of position. #3 is such a cool tee shot and approach in if you leave it on the hill, #4 is a tough par 4, and #5 is closer to a mini-golf putt (or roll down the hill) than an actual green. It isn't meant to be terribly fair, and that's okay. Closing stretch is also very strong from #14 onwards.
Pacific Dunes: Oh boy. The greens were not good. The putts ranged from bumpy to straight up plinko board (#12). The course is such a cool layout, but between it being the final course I played in 3 days, the wind absolutely howling, and the greens being pretty bad, it was a taxing round. Playing it in the morning is a must unless you routinely want to hit into a 3-4 club wind when you're going into it. Definitely has the toughest first hole on the property if the wind is blowing.
Preserve: Such a great short course, got to play it by myself as the first person out on a misty morning and it was so peaceful. Great range of holes and shots you have to hit (nothing longer than 170, and that pin was about as far back as it could have been on #7). The greens were in amazing shape and rolled true, so hopefully that's the quality everything else can get back to by the end of the season. The wind is definitely a factor, so if you play it in the afternoon definitely be prepared for some exposed and blown shots.
I had a caddie for all 6 of the 18-hole rounds and would definitely recommend Brian (splits his time between Oregon & the Big Island), Christian (from Seattle, has been around for a long time), and Aaron (who made the absolute most of a 22-year old who thoroughly enjoyed melting down after any bad shot). There was one caddie who I didn't vibe with, but it wasn't so bad that it's worth putting on the internet. Just a mismatch of vibes and expectations.
Lunch was excellent at Trails End (and breakfast looked really good too), and the Shephard's Pie at Mckee's was great. Ghost Tree Grill is pricy but very tasty, if it's in your budget definitely would recommend dropping by for apps and a drink at the least. Very easy to grab a seat at the bar as a solo.
Service across the board was impeccable, minus one weird situation where my orange whip got left in the starter's shack to reduce weight and then it just..disappeared for a while? Shoutout to Brian who found it after a little digging and in the customer service room.
Stayed in town at the Bandon Inn, and for being a single that's really the most cost effective way to do it. Was able to snag a rental car via Turo in North Bend (shoutout to Michela!), and it ran about $200 per night. Dinner options shut down early in town, so if you get off the course on the late side either eat at the resort or double check that where you're planning to go is still open. Great lunch options though, The Loft and Tony's Crab Shack were both great.
Bottom line, unless you're intending to try and shoot your lowest scores while adhering to every single rule of golf or gambling for a ton of money and that depends on putts, you'll have a great time. If you've been to Bandon a bunch, the greens might be a disappointment, but you'll still probably have a great time. No discounts were given on any course (except for Old Mac) for the condition of the greens, and that was because it was still within the 5-day aeration window.

2024.05.14 21:14 twistedbarricade I've been way too nice to my WP. Now I'm starting to regret it.

Nearly 2 months since DDay - life sucks, can't leave the apartment without a pep talk, social media is just a tunnel of anxiety, the works.
I've only really spoken to my WP since because she owes me a bit of money (she has been paying it back, we weren't married and it's not enough money to even make small claims court worth the trouble). But I've been realizing that every interaction, even when I had the opportunity to vent a bit about how fucked up what she did was, I was way nicer than she deserved, and I feel a tinge of frustration and shame in my inability to just stand up for myself and really let her have it.
I know that there's strength in being kind in the face of abuse and betrayal. I've been telling myself that and have been told that by others as well. I'm not giving her any 'evidence' to make it look like I was a partner that got angry or said hurtful things. I wasn't, and even now I'm just not like that.
The thing is, this is not the first relationship I've been abused and/or cheated on in. And years down the line from those other bad partners, I still wish I could tell them exactly how small and pathetic they are. The shock of discovery has always been too overpowering to be in touch with the anger I should be feeling - I'm sure many here understand that.
Fighting to not break NC, the timeline I gave her to pay me back was extremely generous as she said she was struggling financially. Now I'm thinking that I just want her gone asap, it's not my fault she spent too much money on the tattoo artist she started fucking. I'm tempted to ask for faster payment, tempted to tell her she's a narcissist and an abuser and has the emotional intelligence of a spoiled child. I said to her face after DDay that I didn't think she was a bad person. But of course she is, and of course I think that. Why did I say that?

2024.05.14 21:14 YouExcellent1831 I just walked out on my first ever sous chef position. Contemplating leaving industry.

Context:
I am 25. I grew up in a family who owned and operated pizzerias in NY. I had started working on the register when I was 13 and started summer jobs as a Bussehost when I was 14. The restaurants I worked FOH were 4star high end (worked for 3). I have also always had a serious passion for cooking. When I was 18 I moved out of my home and began working for a dairy farm, then transitioned to a smoothie/salad/vegan gluten free oriented places (19-21). I was a manager making specials like gf desserts, ready to eat salads, and also worked on their equivalent of a “line”. It was not refined whatsoever, clean, simple food. Did that for 2 years. Then quit during Covid after having tremendous stress, after helping reorient the entire business to be more grocery focused as we had a store front with organic, superfood tonics, meats, plant based stuff, etc. I had issues with the kitchen manager as she treated me differently than the other staff. I immediately applied for a junior sous position at a restaurant that was upscale dining, and after a trial day they were willing to train me on garde manger. I worked their and trained under two very capable chefs who were willing to teach me everything. One 36m another 29m who was actually head chef. I moved my way up to hotline after a yr and a half and was enjoying the job, environment, coworkers, and we would do about 200 covers a night in the summer. I carried on with the company for another year even after my head chef gave a months notice and took a much better more cdc job for a larger more high end company. I took on more responsibilities and and finally decided I had reached my ceiling of learning from that restaurant and I wanted to move overseas to broaden my skillset and resume but felt like I picked the wrong country/restaurants as the food was not on par even with the smoothie salad place I started at. I moved home a year later (2024) and was offered by my now cdc chef, same one who trained me and really vouched for me. I executed a 7 course tasting for the first time ever, dishes ranging from quiche, to pork chop, sole(which I had never cooked before), chicken pot pie, croquettes, salad, basque cheesecake, I made my own stock even, and I had a day of prep and the following day to plate. I landed the job over 4 other people. It was for a “family oriented” but upscale bistro as it was on main street in a very affluent town in NY. We have investors, had a full reno as the spot had been a local favorite for 30 years a recently sold. We lost a lot of time we were supposed to be in the kitchen and the prospective opening day was for May 3rd. It got pushed back to the 10th, friends and family 7th and 8th, training of staff was 5th and 6th, while simultaneously doing recipe testing with chefs that had been brought in from other existing locations. Unbeknownst to my cdc, the investor, and restaurant owner, they hired a head chef from nyc that made good food, but could not complete 95% of tasks that were crucial to opening a restaurant, onboarding employees, understanding the kind of volume our town does in summer, actually cooking volume, properly executing recipes, having any recipes of his own that weren’t fresh off google, said he spoke Spanish and then couldn’t communicate to our staff which were all Hispanic spare 1 line cook I hired and use to work with at my first job, the wastage was off the charts, he couldn’t do inventory properly, and spent half of the time speaking constantly and ignoring everyone thinking he’s “working hard”. I took it upon myself to try and execute recipes I had 3 days to learn, make stocks, train employees and learn how to schedule, organize a kitchen from the top down, clean kitchen after a full Reno, and my cdc and the business owner kept assuring me it was not my fault that things were going sideways and that the head chef was completely incompetent and they were actively looking for a replacement. I couldn’t keep up with the prep as hard as I tried, the walk in was a disaster. Felt like every time I organized it my head chef would receive an order and do things like put raw chicken on top of produce. I found cheeses on shelves and raw ground beef in dry storage left out overnight bc of him. He would just constantly talk and talk and talk about everything and nothing, call me in the off hours to talk about a tart mold that he wanted to make in house for 2 hours. Mention things I could do to loose weight, and it was just constant stimulation leading up to the actual opening and during. All the while he would delegate every single one of the the more complex recipe tasks to our untrained employees (sauce work, chopping herbs for garnish, cutting salmon, tuna for line and for Tartares) and I felt obligated to try and pick up as much of his slack. And if I’m being realistic, I as much as the owner and former cdc who hired me believed in me, I still had a lot of refinement to do in my skillset. I have very shakey hands by nature so my knife skills leave a lot to be desired. Also I can’t just bang out a beurre blanc or mornay without thinking about it. I still have to watch and follow a recipe a few time to get the hang of it even though I understand the principles well. I anticipated a balance between my head chef and I and direction. And the worst part is, he would agree to certain tasks and I was the only one trying to organize our flow of prep, made a detailed prep list because his made absolutely no sense, and we would split tasks, I’d execute mine, and he would spend 4 hours chopping mushrooms and par cooking them even though the pick up was raw as per the owner and cdc. It was absolutely maddening. I started having break downs everyday after work NEVER on site; even when to a psychiatrist in between one of our friends and family days to get the non narcotic equivalent of Xanax. I ended up walking out yesterday (13th). More like called and said I wasn’t coming back after my first day off in a week of straight 14 hour days constantly trying to pick up the pieces my head left behind. I have never walked out a job. But now after all of this, I am questioning whether I will ever be able to have a management position in the kitchen. Asking myself, did I progress too quickly? Am I just not capable? Have I completely exhausted myself in the kitchen? Also, I am sober spare nicotene which I consume like an absolute fiend right now. Any insight is appreciated. Please feel free to ask for more context as this is quite the ramble. Also have photos for reference of the food I’ve cooked over the years .

Heybets and Crypto Casino Games
While there's plenty to consider when looking for the best bitcoin casino, there's no escaping the fact that the range of casino games matters. There needs to be plenty to keep players entertained, there need to be provably fair games, and sports betting is an added bonus. Here's what Heybets has to offer:
Slot Games
With traditional online casinos, slot games are the staple of what's on offer. These are the most popular casino games out there, and so you'd expect the best bitcoin casino sites to perform well here. The good news is that Heybets certainly delivers here. There are classic slots, jackpot slots, and those with stunning bonus rounds. Just a few of the titles include:
While the number of slots matters, for a site to be the best bitcoin casino, the quality matters too. Fortunately, the games here only come from the best providers, such as:
This just goes to show that you can rely on online crypto casinos if you're one of the many slot fans out there.
Table and Card Games

Live Casino Games
Heybets also has a great range of live dealer games. You can enjoy live versions of blackjack, roulette, and baccarat. Thanks to the fact that the live casino is powered by Evolution Gaming, you can also make the most of live game shows, such as Dream Catcher and Monopoly Big Baller.
Banking and Crypto Transactions
As with all gambling websites, the payment methods on offer are important when it comes to choosing an online casino to play at. The top bitcoin casino sites allow players to use a range of cryptocurrencies, as well as supporting other methods that you'd find at fiat casinos. Ay Heybets, you can use the following to fund your account and play casino games:
While there's plenty of choice here, what would make this stronger would be the inclusion of the likes of Dogecoin and Tether.
When considering more traditional methods of depositing and withdrawing, Heybets also allows you to use bank wire. There are no fees when using this option for fiat currencies, but users of crypto will need to be aware of the relevant GAS fees.
Heybets and Bonuses and promotions
As you'd expect from a site that could well be considered the best bitcoin casino, there are a host of bonuses and promotions here. Let's get the bad news out of the way with first: this crypto casino does not offer a welcome bonus. With that out of the way, let's take a look at the bonuses and promotions on offer for existing players. While these change on a regular basis, these are the ones that are a constant:
Raise Your Arm Zeus
This bonus comes into play when you're playing the online slot, Gates of Olympus. You'll activate the bonus at this bitcoin casino if you manage to win 20x - 100x from the free spins feature. If you're in luck, this leads to this crypto casino boosting your winnings by 100%.
Extra Juice
The lack of a welcome bonus doesn't seem to sting quite so much when you look at the likes of Extra Juice. This bonus kicks in on a selection of new casino games. It can lead to winnings being boosted by 7%.
Sports Betting
While our focus is on online casinos, it's worth noting that Heybets also offers a range of ongoing bonuses and promotions for customers of its sportsbook.
Loyalty Program
If you're looking for the bitcoin casino with the best loyalty rewards then Heybets is it. The VIP program here has 5 tiers, and each comes with its own rewards. With online gambling, it's a must that a site offers great customer support. At Heybets, you can be sure that you're covered here. Just like all relatively new bitcoin casino sites, there's a need for Heybets to go above and beyond to inspire confidence. It certainly does that with almost instant responses on its live chat which is staffed by knowledgable and polite agents. The only downside is that this isn't available 24/7.
Mobile Experience
While this bitcoin online casino doesn't have a dedicated app, players can still play games via their mobile browsers. The casino games here are compatible with mobile devices thanks to HTML5 technology and the work of the developers behind them.

The Metaspins Bitcoin Casino

When looking at the best bitcoin casinos, Metaspins is another online gambling site that can't be ignored. If you're the kind of player seeking an attractive deposit bonus, then you'll be more than happy with what's on offer here. As we get into the detail, you'll soon see why Metaspins deserves a place on our list of the best bitcoin casinos.
Metaspins and Bitcoin Games
Something that is clear when looking at the best BTC casinos is that there is no shortage when it comes to the range of games that there are to choose from. What puts Metaspins in the running for the best bitcoin casino site is the fact that there are more than 2,500 games to explore. Given that this site was only launched in 2022, it can still be considered to be one of the new bitcoin casino sites, so there's a good chance that the range of games will only grow. Let's take a closer look at what's on offer now:
Slot Games
What makes Metaspins one of the best crypto casinos is the range of slots that can be played. These are provably fair games, and they come from some of the best providers in the business. In fact, what makes the range of slots so exciting here is the sheer number of providers that Metaspins works with. There are more than 30 of these, including the likes of:
You can expect to come across some of the most popular slot titles, such as Gonzo'a Quest, Starburst, and Dark King: Forbidden Riches. For fans of jackpot slots, there's a great range of these too, including Jackpot Quest and Rainbow Jackpots Power Lines.
Table and Card Games
As you'd expect from a site in the ranks of the best bitcoin casino, there's more to this BTC casino than slots. There's also a great range of table and card games, meaning that Metaspins is an attractive destination for fans of all casino games. The games that you'll find cover all the classics such as:
Live Casino Games
Like many of the best crypto casinos, Metaspins also has an impressive range of live games. These come from top developers such as Swintt and Evolution Gaming. When gambling online here, there are traditional titles to choose from, including live poker games, as well as game show experiences. such as Crazy Time and Boom City.
Banking and Crypto Transactions
This crypto casino accepts a range of cryptocurrencies. This is good news for players as it means that can find the crypto that suits them. The other great thing at this crypto casino is that, if you don't happen to have any crypto of your own, you can use VISA or MasterCard to purchase some. The cryptos available include:
As bitcoin online casinos go, this is an impressive showing and will be a major draw for new players.
Metaspins Bonuses and Promotions
A major part of online casinos is the welcome bonus money that's up for grabs. Alongside this, players also like to see reload bonuses, cashback, free spins and even no deposit bonuses (although these are a little on the rare side). With that in mind, let's take a look at what this bitcoin casino has to offer:
Metaspins Welcome Bonus
The welcome bonus offered here is certainly attractive, and is bound to catch the eye of many players. As one of the best bitcoin casino sites, Metaspins offers a 100% match bonus up to a maximum of 1 btc. That means that if you were to deposit 0.5 btc, you'd then be rewarded with another 0.5, meaning that you had 1 btc to play with. The only watch out here is the wagering requirements. They come in at 40x, and they need to be met within 7 days. This could prove a little tricky if you were to take advantage of the maximum bonus money offered.
Deposit and Get
As deposit bonuses go, this one we think is extremely impressive. It really is as simple as it sounds: you continue to make deposits, and you can be certain that you'll get rewards. You just need to keep an eye on your rewards panel. When you see a notification, give it a click and see what you've been given. Some of the rewards on offer are:
These ongoing rewards mean that there are plenty of reasons for players to stay loyal to, what we believe, is one of the best bitcoin casinos.
Sports Betting
Just like many of the other best bitcoin casinos, Metaspins also has an impressive sports betting section. There are separate bonuses to be enjoyed here.
Metaspins Customer Service
To be seen as one of the best crypto casino sites, there's a need for online gambling platforms to offer outstanding customer service. Bitcoin casinos are still relatively new, and knowing that the company is there when you need it matters even more than it does at traditional sites. Metaspins delivers here, with 24/7 live chat, as well as a detailed FAQ section. The fact that customer support is always there means that this truly is one of the top bitcoin casinos.
Mobile Experience
This btc casino doesn't have a dedicated app as yet, but that doesn't mean the games can't be enjoyed on the go. Simply by using your mobile browser, you can access Metaspins from any mobile device and enjoy the full crypto casino experience, no matter where you are.
Summing Up the Metaspins Crypto Casino

Slots
You may think that Inmerion is the best crypto casino based on the number of slots alone. There are more than 3,000 of these to choose from, meaning that even the most ardent slot fans have plenty to keep them entertained. What we like here is that the number of slots isn't overwhelming thanks to the filters that can be used. You can set filters to search by provider, RTP, max win, and volatility.
Among this vast number of slots, you're going to come across new titles, as well as many classics, such as:
Table and Card Games
For gambling sites to be among the best, there needs to be more on offer than slots. Inmerion does well here with a range of other games:

Something else that we like here is that there's no minimum deposit so this is an online gambling site for players of all budgets.
Inmerion's Bitcoin Casino Bonus
Whether it's a healthy welcome bonus, a loyalty program, or reloads that appeal, btc casinos need to have something special on offer to be classed as the best. Let's take a look at what Inmerion has to offer:
Welcome Bonus
As it stands, there is no Immerion welcome bonus on offer. This may be a letdown for some players who can't benefit from their first deposit. However, there are other casino bonuses to enjoy.
Engine of Fortune
This is a daily bonus that allows you to spin the wheel of fortune. You need to have deposited at least $50 in the last 24 hours and then you can spin. The prizes on offer include free spins, cash, and a more than impressive top prize of 5 btc.

Sports Betting
This is another of the best crypto casinos that has an attractive sports book, along with some great bonuses.
Inmerion Customer Service
Reputable casinos need to be there for their customers. There need to be ways that customers can reach out and have their queries resolved in a timely manner. Here, you'll find that live chat is on hand 24/7 to deal with any issues. What we also liked was the fact that there is separate support for those wanting assistance with deposits and withdrawals.
Mobile Experience
Just like the other other crypto casinos that we've looked at so far, there is no mobile app here. However, you can still enjoy Inmerion online gambling via your smartphones and tablets via your mobile browser. Nothing is lost when compared to the desktop experience, and it allows you to enjoy all that Inmerion has to offer with added convenience.

The welcome bonus here is a little different compared to that at other crypto casinos. That's because it's spread over your first 4 deposits. Here's how it's broken down:
The wagering requirements are 40x. While this may be common it does make it a little difficult to take full advantage of what's offered.
No Deposit Bonuses
Right now, BC Game is also offering a no deposit bonus for new players who sign up. Simply by joining, you can claim $5 worth of free spins that can be used on the Lucky Wheel. Prizes can be up to $500 or come in a variety of cryptocurrencies.

Dachau 1945: The Souls of All Are Aflame
by Douglas Cramer
https://preview.redd.it/8ij0zm5txf0d1.png?width=300&format=png&auto=webp&s=eea54710e6a5b2cbd7901d2547cd7938334e74e9
The Dachau concentration camp was opened in 1933 in a former gunpowder factory. The first prisoners interred there were political opponents of Adolf Hitler, who had become German chancellor that same year. During the twelve years of the camp's existence, over 200,000 prisoners were brought there. The majority of prisoners at Dachau were Christians, including Protestant, Roman Catholic, and Orthodox clergy and lay people.
Countless prisoners died at Dachau, and hundreds were forced to participate in the cruel medical experiments conducted by Dr. Sigmund Rascher. When prisoners arrived at the camp they were beaten, insulted, shorn of their hair, and had all their belongings taken from them. The SS guards could kill whenever they thought it was appropriate. Punishments included being hung on hooks for hours, high enough that heels did not touch the ground; being stretched on trestles; being whipped with soaked leather whips; and being placed in solitary confinement for days on end in rooms too small to lie down in.
The abuse of the prisoners reached its end in the spring of 1945. The events of that Holy Week were later recorded by one of the prisoners, Gleb Rahr. Rahr grew up in Latvia and fled with his family to Nazi Germany when the Russians invaded. He was arrested by the Gestapo because of his membership in an organization that opposed both fascism and communism. Originally imprisoned in Buchenwald, he was transported to Dachau near the end of the war.
In fact, Rahr was one of the survivors of the infamous “death trains,” as they were called by the American G.I.’s who discovered them. Thousands of prisoners from different camps had been sent to Dachau in open rail cars. The vast majority of them died horrific deaths from starvation, dehydration, exposure, sickness, and execution.
In a letter to his parents the day after the liberation, G.I. William Cowling wrote, “As we crossed the track and looked back into the cars the most horrible sight I have ever seen met my eyes. The cars were loaded with dead bodies. Most of them were naked and all of them skin and bones. Honest their legs and arms were only a couple of inches around and they had no buttocks at all. Many of the bodies had bullet holes in the back of their heads.”
Marcus Smith, one of the US Army personnel assigned to Dachau, also described the scene in his 1972 book, The Harrowing of Hell.
Refuse and excrement are spread over the cars and grounds. More of the dead lie near piles of clothing, shoes, and trash. Apparently some had crawled or fallen out of the cars when the doors were opened, and died on the grounds. One of our men counts the boxcars and says that there are thirty-nine. Later I hear that there were fifty, that the train had arrived at the camp during the evening of April 27, by which time all of the passengers were supposed to be dead so that the bodies could be disposed of in the camp crematorium. But this could not be done because there was no more coal to stoke the furnaces. Mutilated bodies of German soldiers are also on the ground, and occasionally we see an inmate scream at the body of his former tormentor and kick it. Retribution!
Gates of Dachau Concentration Camp
Rahr was one of the over 4,000 Russian prisoners at Dachau at the time of the liberation. The liberated prisoners also included over 1,200 Christian clergymen. After the war, Rahr immigrated to the United States, where he taught Russian History at the University of Maryland. He later worked for Radio Free Europe. His account of the events at Dachau in 1945 begins with his arrival at the camp:
April 27th: The last transport of prisoners arrives from Buchenwald. Of the 5,000 originally destined for Dachau, I was among the 1,300 who had survived the trip. Many were shot, some starved to death, while others died of typhus. . . .
April 28th: I and my fellow prisoners can hear the bombardment of Munich taking place some 30 km from our concentration camp. As the sound of artillery approaches ever nearer from the west and the north, orders are given proscribing prisoners from leaving their barracks under any circumstances. SS-soldiers patrol the camp on motorcycles as machine guns are directed at us from the watch-towers, which surround the camp.
April 29th: The booming sound of artillery has been joined by the staccato bursts of machine gun fire. Shells whistle over the camp from all directions. Suddenly white flags appear on the towers—a sign of hope that the SS would surrender rather than shoot all prisoners and fight to the last man. Then, at about 6:00 p.m., a strange sound can be detected emanating from somewhere near the camp gate which swiftly increases in volume. . . .
The sound came from the dawning recognition of freedom. Lt. Col. Walter Fellenz of the US Seventh Army described the greeting from his point of view:
Several hundred yards inside the main gate, we encountered the concentration enclosure, itself. There before us, behind an electrically charged, barbed wire fence, stood a mass of cheering, half-mad men, women and children, waving and shouting with happiness—their liberators had come! The noise was beyond comprehension! Every individual (over 32,000) who could utter a sound, was cheering. Our hearts wept as we saw the tears of happiness fall from their cheeks.
Rahr’s account continues:
Finally all 32,600 prisoners join in the cry as the first American soldiers appear just behind the wire fence of the camp. After a short while electric power is turned off, the gates open and the American G.I.’s make their entrance. As they stare wide-eyed at our lot, half-starved as we are and suffering from typhus and dysentery, they appear more like fifteen-year-old boys than battle-weary soldiers. . . .
An international committee of prisoners is formed to take over the administration of the camp. Food from SS stores is put at the disposal of the camp kitchen. A US military unit also contributes some provision, thereby providing me with my first opportunity to taste American corn. By order of an American officer radio-receivers are confiscated from prominent Nazis in the town of Dachau and distributed to the various national groups of prisoners. The news comes in: Hitler has committed suicide, the Russians have taken Berlin, and German troops have surrendered in the South and in the North. But the fighting still rages in Austria and Czechoslovakia. . . .
Naturally, I was ever cognizant of the fact that these momentous events were unfolding during Holy Week. But how could we mark it, other than through our silent, individual prayers? A fellow-prisoner and chief interpreter of the International Prisoner's Committee, Boris F., paid a visit to my typhus-infested barrack—“Block 27”—to inform me that efforts were underway in conjunction with the Yugoslav and Greek National Prisoner's Committees to arrange an Orthodox service for Easter day, May 6th.
There were Orthodox priests, deacons, and a group of monks from Mount Athos among the prisoners. But there were no vestments, no books whatsoever, no icons, no candles, no prosphoras, no wine. . . . Efforts to acquire all these items from the Russian church in Munich failed, as the Americans just could not locate anyone from that parish in the devastated city. Nevertheless, some of the problems could be solved. The approximately four hundred Catholic priests detained in Dachau had been allowed to remain together in one barrack and recite mass every morning before going to work. They offered us Orthodox the use of their prayer room in “Block 26,” which was just across the road from my own “block.”
The chapel was bare, save for a wooden table and a Czenstochowa icon of the Theotokos hanging on the wall above the table—an icon which had originated in Constantinople and was later brought to Belz in Galicia, where it was subsequently taken from the Orthodox by a Polish king. When the Russian Army drove Napoleon's troops from Czenstochowa, however, the abbot of the Czenstochowa Monastery gave a copy of the icon to czar Alexander I, who placed it in the Kazan Cathedral in Saint-Petersburg where it was venerated until the Bolshevik seizure of power. A creative solution to the problem of the vestments was also found. New linen towels were taken from the hospital of our former SS-guards. When sewn together lengthwise, two towels formed an epitrachilion and when sewn together at the ends they became an orarion. Red crosses, originally intended to be worn by the medical personnel of the SS guards, were put on the towel-vestments.
On Easter Sunday, May 6th (April 23rd according to the Church calendar)—which ominously fell that year on Saint George the Victory-Bearer's Day—Serbs, Greeks and Russians gathered at the Catholic priests’ barracks. Although Russians comprised about 40 percent of the Dachau inmates, only a few managed to attend the service. By that time “repatriation officers” of the special Smersh units had arrived in Dachau by American military planes, and begun the process of erecting new lines of barbed wire for the purpose of isolating Soviet citizens from the rest of the prisoners, which was the first step in preparing them for their eventual forced repatriation.
In the entire history of the Orthodox Church there has probably never been an Easter service like the one at Dachau in 1945. Greek and Serbian priests together with a Serbian deacon wore the make-shift “vestments” over their blue and gray-striped prisoner’s uniforms. Then they began to chant, changing from Greek to Slavonic, and then back again to Greek. The Easter Canon, the Easter Sticheras—everything was recited from memory. The Gospel—“In the beginning was the Word”—also from memory.
And finally, the Homily of Saint John Chrysostom—also from memory. A young Greek monk from the Holy Mountain stood up in front of us and recited it with such infectious enthusiasm that we shall never forget him as long as we live. Saint John Chrysostomos himself seemed to speak through him to us and to the rest of the world as well! Eighteen Orthodox priests and one deacon—most of whom were Serbs—participated in this unforgettable service. Like the sick man who had been lowered through the roof of a house and placed in front of the feet of Christ the Savior, the Greek Archimandrite Meletios was carried on a stretcher into the chapel, where he remained prostrate for the duration of the service.
Other prisoners at Dachau included the recently canonized Bishop Nikolai Velimirovich, who later became the first administrator of the Serbian Orthodox Church in the US and Canada; and the Very Reverend Archimandrite Dionysios, who after the war was made Metropolitan of Trikkis and Stagnon in Greece.
Fr. Dionysios had been arrested in 1942 for giving asylum to an English officer fleeing the Nazis. He was tortured for not revealing the names of others involved in aiding Allied soldiers and was then imprisoned for eighteen months in Thessalonica before being transferred to Dachau. During his two years at Dachau, he witnessed Nazi atrocities and suffered greatly himself. He recorded many harrowing experiences in his book Ieroi Palmoi. Among these were regular marches to the firing squad, where he would be spared at the last moment, ridiculed, and then returned to the destitution of the prisoners’ block.
After the liberation, Fr. Dionysios helped the Allies to relocate former Dachau inmates and to bring some normalcy to their disrupted lives. Before his death, Metropolitan Dionysios returned to Dachau from Greece and celebrated the first peacetime Orthodox Liturgy there. Writing in 1949, Fr. Dionysios remembered Pascha 1945 in these words:
In the open air, behind the shanty, the Orthodox gather together, Greeks and Serbs. In the center, both priests, the Serb and the Greek. They aren't wearing golden vestments. They don't even have cassocks. No tapers, no service books in their hands. But now they don't need external, material lights to hymn the joy. The souls of all are aflame, swimming in light.
Blessed is our God. My little paper-bound New Testament has come into its glory. We chant “Christ is Risen” many times, and its echo reverberates everywhere and sanctifies this place.
Hitler's Germany, the tragic symbol of the world without Christ, no longer exists. And the hymn of the life of faith was going up from all the souls; the life that proceeds buoyantly toward the Crucified One of the verdant hill of Stein.
On April 29, 1995—the fiftieth anniversary of the liberation of Dachau—the Russian Orthodox Memorial Chapel of Dachau was consecrated. Dedicated to the Resurrection of Christ, the chapel holds an icon depicting angels opening the gates of the concentration camp and Christ Himself leading the prisoners to freedom. The simple wooden block conical architecture of the chapel is representative of the traditional funeral chapels of the Russian North. The sections of the chapel were constructed by experienced craftsmen in the Vladimir region of Russia, and assembled in Dachau by veterans of the Western Group of Russian Forces just before their departure from Germany in 1994. The priests who participated in the 1945 Paschal Liturgy are commemorated at every service held in the chapel, along with all Orthodox Christians who lost their lives “at this place, or at another place of torture.”

2024.05.14 21:11 Most-Matter-6443 Canada was founded as a Christian nation

To be clear when I speak of Canada, I’m speaking about the political union of British colonies in the constitutional country we call Canada. I am not talking about the land or the conquered people who lost to the much further advanced European civilizations. The civilizations who had advanced political systems, economies, banking, manufacturing, language/writing/literature, architecture, technology, military etc won out and it wasn’t much of a match… although I digress.
The entire purpose of Canada was to ensure that our head of state remained the monarch chosen by God. That is what the people who founded Canada believed. It is why they write the constitution as they did. It is why all of North America is not simply part of the United States of America without a Christian monarch as head of state. Remember, the founders of Canada did so explicitly because they believed the monarch was chosen by God and they wanted a head of state who was (and still is) required by law to uphold the Protestant faith.
That is why it is so disappointing to see these radical atheists who are plastic Canadians and who have consumed so much American media that they think they are Americans. The poor dears don’t even know what it means to be a Canadian and to believe in the purpose of Canada. Their ignorance of our founding, purpose, constitution, ancestors, and head of state is bringing polarization to our politics as they import their American ideals of separation of Christianity from all public institutions. We have brave American evangelical Christians (often of British decent) valiantly working for these freedoms we have in Canada to have a Christian state and yet here at home we have these American wannabes who want to undo our Canada and become American with their separation of Christian faith from the public institutions of this country.

2024.05.14 21:09 Stardust01501 Chipotle Is Unfair

So basically Chipotle Sucks! I've been with the company 4 years. And it is so dysfunctional. Especially in my patch. They promote and award lazy behavior. They throw out any investigations made against GMs or above. They promise paid vacations or raises if tp and your store numbers are perfect for three months but it never happens. They throw you into roles that you were never trained for or prepared for. They are so money hungry that if you're not saving a ridiculous amount of hours they bash you. There are no training hours. They force peak times (which is not inherently bad for more busy stores) but for slow stores who understaffed it pushes them to fall behind because they just have to stand there with no one in line and if they move to restock or clean they get yelled at. And they enforce core 4 however slower stores don't have enough for all that labor and are unable to have a salsa, tortilla expo and cashier and they will send pictures and tell them to use the prep person (even though that is not in their job description) And then the cherry on top of it is that corporate rewards the GMs, fls, tds and up but the crew and the service and kitchen leaders who are actually putting in the work and deal with the customer's get nothing in return. Honestly the stress of working there under Chipotle is not worth it. I'm only staying because Im cashing in my long overdue vacation hours and since I've been there a while I get paid decently more than other establishments and businesses are willing to pay. I have so many more horrific stories about this place. The only good part was majority of the time the crew was awesome and loyal. Also, people that complain about portion sizes... We have a certain amount of ounces for each side and meat and queso that's in correlation to the American food health association guidelines. So in reality everyone that wants more is over eating (give or take on your calorie deficit and fitness and height) {I'm talking about the average person} But I do agree the prices majority of the time are outrageous and embarrassing. Just please understand that the people serving you are only doing their job. It's not like we can change the prices or give you more because we can get fired or owe the company money via lawsuits. AND STOP BEING MAD ABOUT THE QUESADILLAS! THEY HAVE ALWAYS BEEN FOR DIGITAL ONLY! WE ARE JUST NOW FINALLY ENFORCING IT!

2024.05.14 21:07 Dark_Stalker2115 What to do because it is affecting my studies and mental health?🙂‍↕️😓

So basically I am a student and go to a local institute. What happened is that me(17 M) and my friend (F 16) were really good friends. We met and became best friends when she had emotionally supported me in a very hard time. I was grateful and hence began our friendship. Now the situation is very complex. We both used to talk to each other almost everyday. And we were really close. But sometimes she used to hurt me a lot for example when she played a prank on me saying that she had a major crush on me and that made me realise that I too had feelings for her. But then she said it was a prank so it was like playing with my emotiona. This happened a lot. She apologized and I didn't tell her her fault. Also when the matter was too tiny she made a big deal about it. I always stayed calm and never told her that she was doing the mistake. When she herself calmed down then in other ways I would make her I understand. After some time I got habituated to this and was getting critsised due to it a lot. Also I defended her a lot because I thought she did the same. And honestly I am too much attached to her emotionally. Seeing our friendship the people in our class started teasing us a lot. And this affected us both. But I chose to ignore it while she defended. We were still being good friends and were very cool about these things. We both knew what we wanted that was a good future and not get in any relationships especially between us both. But the teasing got worse and My ex started harassing her . I don't know exactly what but I can feel what affected her. Then out of nowhere she blocked me. We were laughing the day before but she blocked me. I asked her about it but she said it was nothing . After some days she told me the reason that it was because of the teasing. But I also asked if it was my fault. And she started blaming me for everything. I got hurt and promised to never talk to her if it was hurting her. But then she herself apologised for her behaviour but still again she repeated that and blamed me for it. Countless times she repeated the same mistakes and I forgived her just because she was my best friend. My parents forbid me from talking to her but still I defended her and told them it was my fault . This I told her and convinced that our friendship was not needed to be put on line. She had blocked me from all platforms but I talked to her on messages where she understood. But out of nowhere again she blocked me and do t understand her behaviour at all. She feels bad but again repeats the same thing. It is affecting me because I trusted her a lot and I feel insulted. It is really sad and I am blank in this situation. I don't k ow what to do because she means a lot to me. Please help and guide if yourself have gone through the same thing.🙏🙏🙏Thank youu

2024.05.14 21:06 MaliciousMango1 New City-Wide Transportation Proposal

New City-Wide Transportation Proposal
https://preview.redd.it/rlkc7yojof0d1.png?width=1906&format=png&auto=webp&s=4a6b3fa6560166c071e669e031f43e7aeff6f620
Hello everyone, first off this is a serious post about my proposal to for a new transportation system
Now, in my ideal world there would be only bike paths everywhere. However, I concede that not everyone is always able to use a bike for transportation in this day and age. While considering this problem I came up with an amazing idea: the Athens Monorail!.
There is nothing on earth like a genuine bonafide electrified six car monorail. I'll describe to you all the ways my monorail can help improve the economy and overall change the way of life for the citizens of Athens.
The Stations:
The monorail stations are placed in the most strategic positions to form what will henceforth be know as: The Triangle of Trust. The triangle, being the strongest of all shapes cannot be broken.
Each station will have a unique purpose and theme. I'll start with the first station:
The Chicago Union Station. Named with the intent to confuse unaware passengers (do we really want people coming to our city who can't read a map?). This station will be in the place of the Home Deport on Epps Bridge because there is a Lowes like right across the street and I don't think we really need two hardware stores that close. This station will feature an EXPANSIVE parking deck so that all east bound traffic from Atlanta can park their cars and enter the station. Upon exiting the parking garage and entering the station, passengers will be greeted with a huge atrium complete with exotic dancers and holographic displays directing them to their platforms.
Eastside Station will take over everyone's favorite abandoned shopping center. This will be the most modest of all the stations and will be themed to resemble a log cabin and maybe have an aquarium, I don't know. There will be very few lights and it will be a place you should be scared to be at night time.
Downtown Station will exist completely underground with only a small entrance above ground. This will of course service all of downtown, but will also include numerous restaurants, shops, and a funeral home. To get from the platform to the surface we will feature high-speed escalators powered by the flow of the river.
The Train:
The train cars will all be designed and powered by an eternal engine so that in the event of a city-wide emergency they can be used snowpiercer style as a safe place for people to live. As mentioned before, all the trains will be six cars, however the first two cars will be exclusive "luxury" cars and can be rented out for orgies or whatever rich people do. Each train will of course run on ONE RAIL, however there will be two sets of rail so that trains can be going in both directions. People crossing to the inside track will need to jump over the outside one when a train isn't coming.
Funding:
If every citizen in Athens signs up for as many credit cards as they can, then we can max them out to fund the monorail. Also, we can borrow as much as we can and sell any assets we have. The future generation will appreciate us for doing this for them. Eminent domain will apply to all property in the way of the completion of the monorail, no expense will be spared to demolish historical or cultural buildings in the way. It will run both above and below ground in a perfectly straight line to allow maximum speed.
Well, I hope everyone likes my idea. I'll see about getting it on a ballot, I'm sure it will be approved. Remember, when things look glum, vote for the one. The one being the one rail AKA monorail.

2024.05.14 21:05 diegokoenig Is there any way to tell where a DS lite is from?

I've bought a DS lite and want to find out if it's the european or north american version. That's important to tell if it's a reshell or not. Is there a way to find out for which region it was produced except the back? Maybe differences on the motherboard or in the software?
Thanks for your help already.

2024.05.14 21:04 aerovistae Switched from League to Dota after 3 years, felt like writing up a comparison between the two

After playing League for ~3 years I decided to stop and learn a new game and now have been playing Dota for about 8 months. As I've been learning I've been comparing and contrasting them, and I felt like writing up my thoughts.
I'm not a high ranked player; I was emerald in League and I don't really played ranked in dota. It doesn't matter, since this post isn't about tactics/strategy or how to win-- I'm just talking about the differences between the mechanics of the two games and their clients.
Disclaimer, this is all about Soloqueue. Pro play is a different environment and many things are different. I'm just talking about the average player's experience.
In Dota's Favor:
  • Much better tools for learning. The tutorial is better. You're able to click other heroes to see their abilities in-game. The guide system to tell you what to buy and how to use it, as well as how to use your abilities. League does have recommended items and recommended order for ability-leveling, but the fact that you can choose between different guides for different roles in dota is huge, and the user-written text telling you when and how to use specific items for a hero is also majorly helpful.
  • The game is less punishing to learn than league, for a multitude of reasons. Don't get me wrong, it still has an enormous barrier to entry and a steep learning curve, but it's just less painful. If you haven't played both it's hard to relate. League has two 1v1 lanes and very little sustain - there's no couriers to bring you tangos and mangos. You have to walk, but missing even a little XP can be devastating, so leaving lane at all can end your lane for you. If you're new and you're laning against someone who isn't new, it is absolutely brutal and you basically cannot play the game. Everyone who ever learned League without prior moba experience remembers what it was like in those first couple months being alone in lane against people who have been playing for years - especially in top lane or mid lane - and just getting fucking demolished 1v1 and not even being able to play. That can happen in dota too, but it just doesn't happen as much by comparison. And while there are roaming supports in dota, there's no jungler role, a very stressful role which in league which often leads to that player being blamed for everything that goes wrong in a match.
  • Way, way, way more interesting items. There are so many active items in Dota, and they feel much more impactful. Having a tool like orchid malevolence or eul's is just enormously powerful. By comparison nearly every item in league is just a statstick. The only comparable items in league are Zhonya's Hourglass (kind of like a self-only Eul's) and Guardian Angel (literally Aegis - the resurrection effect isn't as game-changing in league as it is in dota). There's also a couple of items that give shields (damage barriers), but pretty much everything else is just....more damage, more armor, more health, more attack speed, etc. The item selection is just downright boring by comparison.
  • Way more beautiful map. It's not even close. Dota's map has so much going on. There's so many different places and different entities and landforms, and it's just beautiful. Trees, high ground, outposts, trails through the woods, a radiant side and a dire side, day/night cycle....League's map feels small, empty, and stale by comparison.
  • Fights are slower and longer in Dota. You last longer. You don't get one-shot as much. It's nice. It can be very frustrating in league being killed in a half second before you can do literally anything, over and over, game after game (if you get a bit unlucky and are playing a squishy champ/role and they have one or more assassins).
  • More team-oriented. Due to the prevalence of long-lasting debuffs from both items and hero abilities, no one person can really just solo carry to the same extent as in League. In my experience it's much less common to see someone 1v9 in Dota, and usually it's because the enemy team is just making stupid choices. In League it happens close to every other game.
  • Built-in voice chat. This actually does come in handy a lot. Hate not having it in league.
  • Turbo mode. This mode is just great. Wish league had it. Great for learning and testing and playing casually when you don't have time or interest in a serious game.
  • Not having to recall (teleport to base for hp/mana) is nice. More time spent out on the map playing. Having teleport constantly available lets you take part in more plays. Couriers are great. It's awesome having items shipped out to you instead of having to spend time retrieving them.
  • Better demo tool by far. League's practice tool is notoriously shitty. Being able to open the demo tool while you're waiting in queue in Dota is amazing. Can't do that in league.
  • The backpack is sick. Love being able to hold 3 additional items. Just gives you nice flexibility with consumables and components.
  • Neutral items. This just doesn't exist in league and I wish it did because these are really fun and cool.
  • Agh's shard and scepter, and the talent tree. None of these things exist in League and they add so much and make the game much more fun to progress through.
  • More late game avenues to spend gold. Buybacks, Agh's shard and blessing, edible moon shard, boots of travel 1 & 2, item sharing, etc etc. I realize it's fairly rare to reach that level of full build in ranked, but in low level games it's more common and especially in turbo and honestly it's just great to have stuff to spend the gold on. In league you hit the 6 item cap and that's it, any gold beyond that is mostly wasted. It feels bad.
  • On a related note, it's also really nice how the dota items are useful already at their not-yet-fully-built stage, like how Eul's is a crucial item that doesn't really NEED to be upgraded to Wind Waker, but optionally CAN be later when you have the gold and nothing of higher priority to spend it on anymore. In League you don't get effects like the active on Eul's until you've completed it into its final form (i.e. Wind Waker). This means that in League, with rare exception, you don't really have much choice but to fully finish items one by one, whereas in Dota it's the norm to only build the intermediate item and not FULLY complete it until super late game if at all.
  • The announcer saying "Holy SHIT" when you go on a 10 kill streak. I find this hilarious.
  • Better ability tooltips. When the talent tree adds +40 damage to a skill, that skill's text is updated to reflect that. I love this. League has a lot of little issues with incomplete tooltips that don't tell you the full story of how an ability works. You have to reference the wiki constantly. I have to reference it SOMETIMES in dota (like I had no idea why Pudge's E could completely block the damage from his W until I read on the wiki that the rot damage is divided into 5x per second, not 1 instance once per second), but in League I have to reference it pretty much...uh....ngl, constantly. Even as someone who has played it for thousands of hours. Feelsbad.
  • Better cosmetics store. League's just has a splash art image of a skin and a purchase button. You have to go to youtube to see how it actually looks, and you cannot try it out at all without buying it. The fact that Dota allows you to launch into the demo tool with any cosmetic is amazing and something League players would literally trade sexual favors for.
  • Cosmetics for things other than the heroes/champions themselves. In League you can only buy champion skins. In Dota you can buy cosmetics for the ancient, the towers, the creeps, the map, etc. None of that exists in League. We fucking WISH we could buy that kind of stuff. Riot are you listening?
In League's favor:
  • Better lore. It's not a contest really. League's champions all have names and stories that are placed front and center, whereas Dota hero names are kind of buried and infrequently referenced. They're more like archetypes than individuals with their own identities. I mean...there's LITERALLY a dude called "Anti-Mage." There's a dude on a bat and his name is Batrider. The videos and media around champion releases in league are just way cooler. Check out the fiddlesticks rework video on youtube: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jNn2F39G-6s
  • WAYYYYY better champion animations and sound design. This is for me where League blows Dota out of the water. Go ult someone as Axe - he does a little hop and swing animation. Then check this out, the corresponding ultimate in League from Darius, at the 3min mark: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vRu0IznjCSc There's really just nothing in Dota that feels like Jhin, or Ekko, or so many others. With rare exception, almost all the champions in league have aspects that FEEL amazing - great sound design / animations / feedback delays that are incredibly rewarding. Dota's heros are really fun to play and I'm having a great time, but if you put them side by side with a pretty large percent of League's cast, the animations of many of their abilities and movements just feel kinda flat and low-budget by comparison.
  • Cooler duels. Dueling is a big part of league and it doesn't seem to be such a big part of Dota by comparison. Whenever a fight starts, people teleport in and it becomes a teamfight, or someone disengages and gets away somehow using one of the many items like force staff or eul's. In league, two lanes are 1v1 and the jungler also often 1v1s, so there's a kind of constant dueling and it really lets you find fun ways to express skill and mastery. There's only one item that will get you out of a sticky situation instead of many, and only a portion of champions can reasonably build that item in the first place.
  • More 1v9 potential. Because there's so much less CC by comparison to dota, and champion counters aren't as hard as in dota, a single player can completely take over a game and win versus multiple opponents at once single-handedly. This can be really, really exciting and it's one of the high points of League that makes the game addictive.
  • Having to recall (teleport to base for mana/health/buy items) actually can be kinda nice too, by comparison. It lets you take a breather and just look over the state of the game while you walk back to lane.
  • Being able to see on the tab scoreboard what items and creep score people have is really, really nice. It's really fucking annoying in Dota having to click champion portraits to see what items they have, and if you click ANYTHING else it hides it again so you have to do it while standing still or moving in a straight line. Probably dota loyalists will say this is part of the skill of the game, but honestly imo it's just annoying/bad UI design that people sort of just got used to and became convinced was "part of the game."
  • Skillshots! In Dota most abilities are just unit targeted or AOE, while disjointing does exist, aiming isn't really as big a mechanic. There ARE abilities you have to aim, which in league we'd call skillshots, but they're far fewer. In league skillshots are kind of the norm, and aiming them and dodging them is a huge part of the game and it's fun to do so and makes you feel cool when you land them or dodge them. Having nearly everything be unit targeted isn't bad, it's just different, but it is something I enjoy a lot in League.
  • You can buy as many wards as you want. I hate having to share wards with the team in dota, and the store being out of them. I understand it's part of the game and managing that is part of the skill of dota, but I find it tedious and don't really enjoy it as a mechanic. Similarly, in League basic wards don't take up an inventory slot and instead get their own special slot like TP scrolls in Dota, which is really nice. It's pretty frustrating losing an inventory slot to wards.
  • Manaless champions. There are a couple dozen champions in League that don't use mana, and many people enjoy playing them. Dota doesn't really have that.
  • Simplicity. League has a smaller and simpler map, fewer mechanics, FAR fewer active item abilities, and more rigidity to its champion roles and how the game is played in soloqueue. Dota is kind of intimidating to learn from the sheer amount of stuff it has going on. Not everyone has the time or interest for it all.
  • Rotating game modes. ARAMs (all random all mid: a constant 5v5 teamfight on a map that only has one lane in the form of a bridge connecting the two teams' bases and nowhere else to go) are pretty great. Dota's modes seem to be a bit more static and homogenous, but idk, it's possible I just haven't been playing long enough yet?
  • Better champion skins, frankly. Some of League's skins are just amazing, and they ALL come with complete visual makeovers for all of the champion's abilities. While you can buy individual ability effect cosmetics in Dota, the options are somewhat limited by comparison. Any skin purchase in League will redo all the abilities to varying extents. Sometimes it's a small change, but higher-end skins make very significant changes. Dota does have some cool skins and a ton of cool minor cosmetics, but I would say League wins here.
Conclusions:
On the whole I'd say there's more things to like about Dota than about League just in sheer quantity of bullet points, but I love both games and I think they're both really fun. If Dota improved their lore, their animations, and their tab screen and League improved their cosmetics store and their map and added neutral items, the talent tree, and agh's shard & scepter, I wouldn't really have any major complaints about either of them.
I think anyone who loves one game could potentially love the other one too and it's totally worth learning whichever one you don't already know, if you have the time. Obviously these games take a ton of time and most people barely have time for one let alone two. But if you're young especially, they're both really fun.
It's pretty hard for me to see eye-to-eye with the people who love one game and ferociously hate on the other - it seems childish and kind of empty. To not find one as fun as the other, sure, that's normal, but to expend energy hating the other one and constantly shitting on it, that just confuses me. You can have a favorite while still acknowledging the other as a comparably enjoyable game.
One final note - one of the things I found most interesting about comparing them is seeing which mechanics are normal in one game that would be overpowered in the other game.
In League there is a champion named Zilean whose ult is to enchant an ally such that if they die in the next 5 seconds they're resurrected - basically Aegis, but on a one minute cooldown, for anyone on your team who needs it. Zilean would likely have a >90% wr in dota.
But then in Dota Nature's Prophet's teleport has a 90s/60s/30s cooldown and he can access it from level one if he chooses to, and eventually has a talent that removes its cooldown completely. Meanwhile this exists in League as one of the strongest ults in the game and with one of the longest cooldowns of any champion ability. Nature's prophet would have a >90% wr in League.

Why A Husband Might Want To Locate His Wife

You might want to track your wife's phone for several important reasons whether it is safety concerns or uncovering infidelity. Each reflects concern and practicality. Up next, you'll find three key scenarios that might lead you to monitor her location. These points will clarify why tracking can be necessary and how it aligns with responsible use.
  1. Evidence Of Cheating: Notice your wife's new habits? Frequent small lies, sudden changes in appearance, or unusual expenses can be alarming. These signs might prompt you to act swiftly, as they could suggest she's seeing someone else. Wondering about her online activities? Check apps like Tinder, Badoo, and Bumble, which are often used in affairs.
  2. Safety Concerns: If your wife travels often or goes to areas that are known to be unsafe, you might want to track her phone to ensure her safety. This way, you can know her whereabouts and be assured that she is in a safe location or be alerted to any potential dangers.
  3. Family Logistics: For practical reasons, you might want to keep track of each other's locations to manage family schedules more efficiently. This can be especially helpful for coordinating pickups and drop-offs, running errands, or simply ensuring someone is home for important deliveries or services.
It's important to note that trust and privacy are critical components of a healthy relationship. Tracking someone's phone without their consent can be a violation of privacy and may have legal and ethical implications. Open communication about the reasons for tracking and mutual agreement is essential in this context.

Spying On Your Wife's Phone

Have you ever asked yourself the following questions:
  • How can I see my wife's texts without her knowing?
  • Can my spouse track my phone without me knowing?
  • Can I track my girlfriend's phone without her knowing?
The wife, phone, and the truth. If you ever asked any of the above questions then you probably feel that she is being unfaithful. But trying to jailbreak your wife's phone, track an iPhone, access browsing history, or simply track her phone without her knowledge, is not easy. Most people rarely leave their phones unattended long enough for you to install monitoring software, access WhatsApp messages, or read your wife's text messages. Therefore, it is highly unlikely you will be able to utilize phone tracking apps for Android or iOS devices for spying on your wife's phone. This is the reason we would encourage you to avoid phone spy apps or any type of phone tracker on her Android device or iPhone and instead find out if she is cheating through GPS location tracking.

Can My Spouse Track My Phone Without Me Knowing?

If you're wondering whether your spouse can track your phone without your knowledge, the short answer is yes.
There are several ways your spouse could track your phone. One way is through the use of spyware, which can be downloaded onto your phone without your knowledge. Spyware can track your location, monitor your calls and text messages, and even access your photos and emails.
Another way your spouse could track your phone is through the use of a shared account, such as an Apple ID or Google account. If you have your account linked to your spouse's device, they can access your location history and other data through the account.
If you're concerned that your spouse may be tracking your phone, there are a few things you can do. First, check your phone for any suspicious apps or programs that may have been installed without your knowledge. You can also change your phone's settings to prevent location sharing and limit app permissions.

Is It Ethical To Track My Wife's Car Without Her Knowledge?

Yes, and no. Why? Because tracking your wife's car without her knowledge walks a fine line ethically. If she's exhibiting worrying behaviors—like showing low self-esteem, suddenly working out more, expressing confusion about her identity, becoming more negative, spending excess time on her phone, or escalating fights trivially—your concern for her well-being might justify tracking. It's ethical if you're doing it for her safety. But if it's driven by jealousy or a lack of trust, this could infringe on her privacy and betray the trust in your relationship.

2024.05.14 20:52 Petuniapotpie Maintenance of hedge on property line and bad neighbor

Not sure if this is the right sub for this question but here goes. I have massive English Laurel hedges on either side of my property running the full length front to back. The hedge on the south side is on my property and borders/goes over a bit into the neighbor's property. The north (and much larger) hedge is on my north neighbor's property but borders/goes over into mine.
Because the south hedge is on my property I take care of trimming my side and the top once or twice a year. My neighbor trims his side. No issues there. The problem is with the north hedge. My north neighbor refuses to maintain the hedge and has even claimed it's not her hedge. County plot maps clearly show the hedge is on her property. Towards the back of our properties there is a wooden fence (put in by the previous owners of my house) and the hedge is on her side back there.
Initially I thought one just equally shares maintenance of border hedges but I found out later that the person whose property the hedge resides on is responsible. It's quite pricey having the hedges maintained. But I have handled easily 80% of the maintenance of the hedge (convinced her to do half a few times).
I have attempted to talk to the neighbor repeatedly but don't get anywhere. What can I do? The hedge is very tall and wide and if not maintained I would literally not be able to see out my north windows. (It's only about eight feet from my house.) The neighbor is one of those people who doesn't give a hoot what her property looks like. Also the hedge is further from her house so there's not much impact for her light-wise.
Do I just suck it up and pay even though the hedge is technically her responsibility? Might this mean that the property that the hedge resides on is now my property since I am the one maintaining it??
Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

2024.05.14 20:45 Mountain-Low-8719 The Girl in Blue

In the town of Portswin, Tennessee during the 1970s, there lived the Dorvell twins: Paul and Lara. With their dark brown hair and lovely brown eyes, they acted like they owned the school. They always treated their classmates like they were beneath them. Most kids are afraid to stand up to them because their parents are members of the PTA and they knew what would happen to them if they did.
However, there was only one person in town who wasn't afraid of them. Her name was Sallie Garrett and she was the new kid who just moved with her parents from the big city of Philadelphia in the north. Every day, she always wore a blue dress to school and at home which most kids thought was pretty weird.
She didn't care what they thought, though and when she first met the Dorvell twins, she only bumped into them by accident and that made Paul, the tougher of the twins angry. He told Sallie to apologize at once and she did so, sarcastically of course which only served to make them even more mad.
Once Sallie left, Lara and Paul plotted to make the new girl's life as miserable as possible. And for the next couple of days, they did so by flicking paper balls at her, tripping her in the school cafeteria, and calling her mean names. Sallie just ignored them, not letting their bullying get the best of her.
Finally, the twins had enough and they planned something so bad that it would change everything in their small town forever. One day, as Sallie was walking home from school, she noticed two people following her. She assumed that they were just other kids looking to make friends with her, at first.
But they kept following her and she was getting tired of it. Sallie turned around and she recognized the ones who are following her: Paul and Lara Dorvell. Her eyes widened and she began to sprint into the forest. She ran for miles and miles looking for a place to hide, but the twins were already behind her each of them holding a big rock in their hands.
Lara and Paul bashed her head with the rocks from behind and they continued to do so over and over again until Sallie stopped moving or fighting back. She was dead. Without any remorse, the evil twins buried her body that was wearing the blue dress in the woods, hoping to get away with the sin they have committed.
For a while, no one noticed that Sallie Garrett had vanished. But after a few hours, her folks started to get concerned that she hasn't arrived home for supper. So they began posting missing posters of the girl and even started a search party with the entire Dorvell family joining in to find the girl.
Tired of looking for Sallie, Paul and his sister headed off to another part of the woods to relax before they could continue on their search. Suddenly, they began to hear a voice. The voice sounded familiar as it said, Vengeance. Vengeance.
At first, they brushed it off as just the wind. But as the voice continued to repeat Vengeance, the twins started to feel like they were losing their minds. They covered their ears to block out the sound, but it got louder and louder until it was right behind them.
I'm here.
The Dorvell twins turned around to see Sallie just as she was when she died in her blue dress. But she and the dress were covered in dirt with Sallie herself still with the bleeding wound from her head.
"I-it can't be," Paul stuttered before screaming at her. "You're dead! You're dead!"
But Sallie just laughed and locked eyes with her killer, putting him in a trance. Lara hesitantly walked to her brother, but he smacked her in the head with a rock. The same rock he used to kill Sallie. Lara fell to the ground and tried to crawl away, but he caught up to her and began smashing her with the rock. And then, everything went black.
Once it was done, Sallie snapped the boy out of his hypnosis before smiling sweetly and fading away into the afterlife.
When the townsfolk found Sallie's body, they also found Paul standing over the body of his now dead sister, his lifeless eyes staring up at the sky. He tried to tell them that it wasn't him and it was Sallie's fault for making him kill his sister in the first place. Yet no one believed him. After all, his shirt and pants were covered in his sister's blood. So he admitted to not only killing Sallie, but also killing his sister.
After that, he was found guilty for the murders. But because of his young age, he was put away in a juvenile detention center before transferring to the county prison a few years later. For the rest of his life, he would often wonder whether it was guilt that drove him to kill his sister. Or maybe it was all in his head and that he was so obsessed with maintaining his status that drove him to commit this deed.
We'll never know, but this tragic incident impacted their small town for years to come and it still does to this day.

Love the story line but not sure how I feel about George lying.
When he crashed I felt sorry for him as he was trying to help by driving here home and it was Alice’s fault he crashed. So I was worried he would be in trouble.
But now I feel sorry for Alice for the way he made it look.

2024.05.14 20:40 RavensDoe Posting (again) the Stugotz Personal Record Book I've been keeping for years. He's had a few recent entries so I wanted to post an updated version.

I may have missed some more recent (late 2023-24) declarations, so let me know if I should add anything I've missed.
Stugotz personal record book. Sorry if the links are expired on some things. They're old.
[Time Stamps] Started to use them in late 2019. They may not be exact based on what podcast app or service you use. But they'll be close.
I DIDN'T ASK FOR ANY OF THIS:

FOOTBALL

(1) UCF is the 2017-2018 national champion.
(2) If Kirk Cousins goes to the Jaguars and not the Jets, no championship he wins will count in the personal record book.
Note (2)(a): Still pending sort of since Kirk is with the Vikings now – possible in future he could go to Jags.
(3) Eli manning has 1 ring. He doesnt get one for throwing a ball into David Tyree's face / Tyree getting a football stuck in his helmet.
(4) Carson Wentz has a Super Bowl 52 ring.
Note (4)(a): Foles does not have a Super Bowl 52 ring.
(5) The Raiders defeated the Patriots in their divisional playoff matchup in 2002 (Tuck Rule game), and then would defeat the Rams in Super Bowl 36.
Note (5)(a): In this scenario also, Bill Belichick was also "fired and looking for a job" after the Tuck Rule game and has 0 rings.
(6) If the 2017 Patriots won Super Bowl 52, James Harrison would not have a ring (Patriots lost to Eagles).
(7) Peyton Manning has one ring (Broncos ring does not count).
(8) Peyton Manning must give such ring he lost (above) to Von Miller, who thus has 2 rings.
(9) Aaron Rodgers can have all the rings he wants for keeping all of central Wisconsin employed.
(10) Brian Billick has 0 rings (2000 Ravens Super Bowl) because that defense carried him.
(11) Tony Boselli is a Hall of Famer.
(12) Tarik Cohen is an honorary Jew.
(13) JuJu Smith-Schuster is also an honorary Jew. L'Chaim.
(14) Drew brees has three rings for winning the super bowl for the city of New Orleans.
Note (14)(a): There was discussion on this where the number started at three, went up to five, came down to two, but it ended up at three.
(15) Mike McCarthy has no Super Bowl rings.
Note(15)(a): Dan also has this in his record book, and it is the first entry into the Le Batard Personal Record Book.
Note 15(b): In fact, McCarthy has -3 (Negative three) rings.
(16) Any Super Bowl rings Antonio Brown gets with the Patriots will not count in the Stugotz personal record book (9/9 Weekend Observations National Hour 2).
(17) Ohio State's 76 to 5 victory over Miami (Ohio) on 9/21/19 does not count.
(18) Due to Bill Belichick's 219 wins with Tom Brady, Bill's week 7 2023 victory over the Bills was actually his 81st victory and not his 300th victory.
(19) The 2002-03 Miami Hurricanes actually won the Fiesta Bowl/BCS National Championship game against Ohio State.
(20) If JJ Watt joins the Texans for the 2024 season or later on, none of the Super Bowl rings will count in Stugotz's personal record book

BASKETBALL

Kevin Durant
(1) If Westbrook wins a championship and beats Kevin Durant along the way in the playoffs, Westbrook will have won 2 championship rings.
(2) "STRAP IT ON BOYS, GONNA TAKE YA FOR A RIDE:"
Kevin Durant has 0 rings (Zero rings)
Kevin Durant has -1 rings (Negative 1 rings).
Kevin Durant has -4 rings (Negative 4) (As of 4/11/18)
Note (2)(a): This number is subject to change based on Stugotz altering rings to the "-4" current total. Specifically as seen recently when Stugotz adjusted the number from (i) 0 rings to (ii) -1 rings to (iii) -4 rings.
Note (2)(b): Here is a tweet transcript of the conversation where this was discovered.
Archive link
(3) If Kevin Durant wins an NBA title for the NY Knicks, he will gain 11 rings.
Note (3)(a): As seen above in "(2)," Kevin Durant has -4 rings.
Note (3)(b): [Math] If Durant were to remain at -4 rings, and subsequently win an NBA title for the Knicks, he will have 7 rings total. This was specifically stated (-4 + 11 = 7), and a question about a non-specifically stated Personal Record Book entry is posed below in "Note (3)(c)(i)."
Note (3)(c): If the Golden State Warriors had won a championship playing 3 on 5 with Kevin Durant, Kevin Durant would have 1 ring.
Note (3)(c)(i): [Confusion] I am unsure if "Note(3)(c)" means he would gain +1 ring, and therefore be "up" to -3 rings total. Possibly, Stugotz means if the Golden State Warriors had won a championship 3 on 5 with Durant, Kevin Durant would be at +1 rings total (Positive 1 rings).
(4) Kevin Durant's dagger in Game 3 did not count, because according to Stugotz, none of Durant's stats count. KD's official statline last night was 0/0/0 and the Cavs blew the Warriors out by 40.
(5) Anything Kevin Durant has done with the Warriors so far is not in Stugotz' personal record scroll.
Note (5)(a): Stugotz did not take his feathered pen and write anything in his scroll (King Roy approves).
(6) Westbrook has ALL of KD's rings.
(7) For every time KD says he doesn't give a BLEEP, Stugotz adds 2 "I do give a BLEEPS" in the personal record book.
(8) Per Dan, speaking on Stugotz' behalf, Kevin Durant has no Olympic Gold Medals (9/18/19 National Hour 1 @ 00:07:50).
Michael Jordan
(1) Jordan has 9 rings because:
(a) The Rockets have to give their 2 rings from 1994 and 1995 to Jordan (+2); and
(b) The Bulls would have won the 1999 Finals over the Spurs if Jordan didn't retire (+1; 9 total).
Note (1)(a-b)(i): Put LeBron's rings in a box and put Jordan's rings in a box. Jordan is +6 by the way over LeBron box-minus, despite box-minus sounding like a dumb stat.
(2) Michael Jordan was suspended for 2 years for gambling (Said 4/25/18 Hour 2, 14:30 in podcast).
Note 2(a): HOWEVER, MJ still has 9 rings as see above in (1)(a) and (1)(b).
(3) Any game Michael Jordan played wearing the uniform #45 does not count.
LeBron James
(1) If LeBron James goes to the Golden State Warriors, every Championship he wins will result in a deduction of 2 previously won championships.
(2) The Miami Heat LeBron teams were the GREATEST teams in the history of sports (5/7/18 Local Hour).
(3) The Miami Heat LeBron teams were also the MOST INTERESTING teams in the history of sports.
(4) If, after the 2018 NBA Playoffs:
(a) LeBron does not make it to the finals and the Celtics do; and
(b) The Houston Rockets do not make it to the finals and the Warriors do; and
(c) LeBron goes to the Houston Rockets for the next season, THEN
LeBron is allowed to win rings that count in Stu's personal record book.
Note (4)(a-c)(i): HOWEVER, Harden & Chris Paul - if they remain on the Rockets with LeBron on the team - are not allowed to have any of the rings won with LeBron count in Stu's personal record book.
Note 4(a-c)(ii): To quote the big man Stu (with Dan agreeing of course), "Do it on your own” (Dan agrees here).
(5) If LeBron wins an NBA Championship with the 2018 Lakers roster (as of 7/23/18), then that wins counts for 6 rings.
Note (5)(a): Thus LeBron would have 9 rings.
Kyrie Irving
(1) Kyrie Irving hit one of the biggest shots in NBA Finals History, but was only in that position because of LeBron James. Kyrie Irving, did hit one of the biggest shots in NBA Finals history that won everyone on that team a Ring, except for you (Kyrie). (3/9/20 Hour #3; Google Podcast @ 07:00).
Note (1)(a): Stugotz: "A little revision to the uhhh Stugotz Personal Record Book that I'll come around to writing...or Mike will." I'M WRITING IT YOU IDIOT MORON JACKAL
Misc. Basketball
(1) The Houston Rockets have 0 (Zero) NBA Championship victories.
Note (1)(a): See "Michael Jordan (1)(a)" for reasoning.
Note (1)(a)(i): [Restated Reasoning] Michael Jordan is actually in possession of those 1994 and 1995 Rockets rings because Michael Jordan would have won those championships if he stayed in Chicago.
Note(1)(b): [CONFLICTING HOT TAKE] Stugotz has also said Jordan didn't get the Rockets' rings because he was actually suspended for gambling.
Note (1)(b)(i) NEEDS CLARIFICATION PLEASE. Stugotz keeps going back and forth. In "Michael Jordan Note 1(a)," the opposite of "Miscellaneous Basketball Note (1)(b) is stated because he has gone back and forth on this issue.
(2) Steve Kerr has no rings as a coach. In fact, he has never even coached a game.
(3) Mychal Thompson (Klay's dad) has no rings. (Said on Zach Harper podcast).
(4) Clyde Drexler no rings (Said on Zach Harper podcast).
(5) Giannis Antetekoumpo is pronounced Yani Adababoombo.
(6) As long as James Harden has his beard, he cannot win any championships.
Note (6)(a): If the Rockets win a ring, then the ring goes to the beard.
(7) Lamarcus Aldridge cost the Spurs game 2 of the 2017 Western Conference Semifinals, even though they won.
(8) If the Sixers happen to win a championship, Sam Hinkie gets a ring.
(9) Chris Paul has NOT made a Western Conference Final since he had to join the Rockets to do so.
(10) Michael Jordan winning the NBA Finals in 1999 also means that Tim Duncan only has 4 rings instead of 5 rings.
(11) The Warriors only have 1 ring
Note (11)(a): Durant still has -4.
(12) Boogie Cousins cannot win a NBA Championship and have it count if he does so with the Warriors.
(13) Billy Donovan was the NBA Coach of the Year in 2017 (12/13/17 @ 28:10 Hour 1).
Note (13)(a): The Thunder blowing the 3-1 lead to the Warriors that year had nothing to do with Donovan. It was Durant's fault.
(14) The OKC Thunder actually did win the WCF against the Warriors in 2017 when up 3-1.
Note (14)(a): This does not apply to Durant though.
Note (14)(b): The Thunder also beat whoever they would have played in the Finals. Durant still no ring.
(15) Embiid has his 2023 MVP taken away and given to Jimmy Butler.
(16) Caitlin Clark's NCAA all-time scoring record still belongs to Pistol Pete because unlike Pistol Pete, Caitlin didn't do it in 3 years and she did it with a 3 point line.

BASEBALL

Babe Ruth
(1) Babe Ruth is black.
(2) Babe Ruth never hit a baseball. Not once.
(3) Babe Ruth is the number two black baseball player of all time behind Barry Larkin.
(4) Babe Ruth is NOT a top 20 Baseball player of all time. He's a pitcher.
Note (4)(a): However This is somewhat confusing/interesting because:
(i) Stugotz has said "Babe Ruth is the number two black baseball player of all time behind Barry Larkin; and"
(ii) This MUST mean Stugotz can only have 1 black player in his top 20 Baseball players of all time Barry Larkin; because
(iii) The only way this can work logically is if in the list of greatest players #1 through #20, only Barry Larkin is on the latter top #1 through #20 list. I would like some clarification on if he wishes to change this take/record.
(5) Babe Ruth is also not a top 20 pitcher of all time.
Misc. Baseball
(1) Stugotz has declared that in his personal record book, Baseball no longer allows pitchers to hit (Stated on 05/03/2018 @ 12:38:52 P.M).
Note (1)(a): Excludes Bartolo Colon, and Shohei Ohtani.
Note (1)(b): You are either a pitcher or a hitter. Not both.
(2) If the Dodgers won the 2017 World Series Clayton Kershaw would not have had a ring.
(3) Wade Boggs DOES have a ring because he rode around on a horse with a beer afterward.
(4) Clayton Kershaw did not win an MVP award because the award for pitchers was already given, the CY Young award.
(5) Miami beat LSU in the 1996 College Baseball World Series.
(6) The 1986 NY Mets did not win the World Series against the Boston Red Sox.
Note (6)(a): This "pains" Stugotz.
(7) The Red Sox retroactively winning the 1986 World Series may result in taking a ring away from the Mets.
Note (7)(a): Stugotz has to think about it though, he's not sure yet.
(8) Bryce Harper did not win the 2018 home run derby because he cheated.
(9) Kershaw's Earned Ring Average (ERA) is 0.00.
(10) Mike Minor (Rangers Pitcher) does not have 200 strikeouts in 2019. He's at 199 (National Hour 2, 10 mins 40 seconds in).
Note (10)(a): Chris agrees too. And who really cares (15% on poll do care).
(11) The 2020-2021 Mets, during the Coronavirus outbreak, are 0-3 and Jacob deGrom is somehow 0-1 with a 0.00 ERA and 1 complete game. The deGrominator. (Google Podcast 3/30 Hour #3 @ 19:20)

HOCKEY

(1) Ray Bourque doesn't have a ring.
(2) Alex Ovechkin may or may not have won the Stanley Cup against the Vegas Golden Knights.
Note (2)(a): "I mean he beat an expansion team . . . bunch of players nobody wanted" (We get the sense that Dan agrees).

TENNIS

(1) If anyone wins a major in Female Tennis without Serena Williams playing, it does not count and they have 0 rings.
(2) If Maria Sharapova wins a grand slam in which Serena isnt competing it doesnt count.

GOLF

(1) If Jason Day wins the 2018 Masters, it counts as an American winning (as far as bets are concerned).
(2) Vijay Singh did not play in the 2018 Masters.
(3) Steph Curry did not win the 2023 American Century Celebrity Golf Championship Tournament . Mardy Fish was the real winner.

SOCCER

(1) Lionel Messi is stripped of all his achievements for using HGH. He never played soccer. He is still 5'1". "Fraud."
(2) Soccer is dead.

NCAA DIVISION 1 WOMEN'S LACROSSE

(1) Rachel has more rings than Kevin Durant

MISCELLANEOUS

(1) Aqua?
(2) Rings plus-minus is the only way to measure greatness.
(3) The HBO Andre the Giant film was good, not great, and Stugotz didn’t learn anything.
(4) Benoit Lecomte (guy they interviewed) can not and will not swim from San Francisco to Tokyo in the personal record book because he is most likely taking a dip for a few minutes then coming back on the boat and enjoying some filet mignon by the pool.
Note (4)(a): "Do it without a yacht. And how about ya do it without the little magnetic field around you that keeps sharks away. How bout that. Allows dolphins through though? Anyway.."
(5) Justify (the Horse) only has a double crown.
Note (5)(a): This is the first ever double crown.
(6) Tango and Cash is in the action movie Hall of Fame. and Cliffhanger has the greatest 5 minute intro of any movie of all time.
(7) Maximum Security (a Horse) won the 2019 Kentucky Derby.
(8) Fruit Stripes Gum is NOT a 1st Ballot Hall of Famer in Stu's "Gum Hall of Fame." (08/12/2019 Hour 2 @ 15:25).
Note (8)(a): "It loses it's flavor so quickly"
Note (8)(b): Also, "[...] Bazooka...1st Ballot Hall of Famer." Also, "Big League Chew..1st Ballot."
(9) Chris Cote owns all intellectual property rights to the "Friends" (TV Show) Movie with a misleading preview that eventually has a climax leading to an intense murder mystery. (10/29/19 Hour #2 @ 03:15).
Note (9)(a): "If they make this without crediting Cote, they're stealing it."
(10) That guy killed the pigeon (12/10 Hour 3 @ 08:20).
(11) Billy owns the record for world's longest Plank (2/25, Hour #3; Google Podcast @ 30:55).
Note (11)(a): Possibly in just the Non-Marine edition.
(12) Zach Buchanan won a Pulitzer Prize for his story on the Madison Bumgarner / Mason Saunders rodeo fiasco (2/28/20 Hour #2; Google Podcasts @ 21:35).
(13) Findlay the Golden retriever holds the Stu Gotz Personal Record Book record for most tennis balls held in a mouth at one time by a dog at 6 (2/11/2020)
(14) Ace Davis (The kid who "proved" Tom Brady was cheating with science) and his fathefamily are heroes (4/1 Hour #3; Google Podcast @ 18:50).
(15) Dan did NOT do more push-ups than Domonique Foxworth (Dan did push-ups on a non-linear platform) (4/28/2020 Hour # 1).

2024.05.14 20:40 interventionalhealer 1. The Radicalization Of Evangelicalism

An excerpt from the upcoming thesis on the counter theory to the rise of MAGA.
The Radicalization Of Evangelicalism
With how fanatic MAGA members have become, its vital to take a deeper look into a crucial part of its spiritual reverence as prophesized by evangelicals. "Pro-life, pro-traditional family, pro-moral, and pro-American" has largely been the Republican platform for quite sometime, but it's also an implant.
The question here was "Have Evangelicals always been this way." The answer surprised me. No, they weren't. Then even once widely supported abortions for financial reasons, which was arguably less aggressive than Roe Vs wade, which restricted potential reasons for abortions and the trimesters increased.
The odd fact is that one single man, coming from a family of casual atheists, criminals, bootleggers and drunks, would grow up partying and drinking to then start the strictest and "purest" Evangelical movement that would forever shake their course and culture. He was also the one that organized the goals of "Pro-life, pro-traditional family, pro-moral, and pro-American" with his 'Moral Majority' organization.
The tragedy is how he shoved his 'imperfect' son into a spotlight of having to push extreme conservative values that ultimately lead to his downfall in juxtaposition.
Falwell Jr. even claimed that his downfall was due to his relationship with Trump, and not his own sins.
I want to be clear that this family does not define the Evangelical movement and I pray they find themselves on a more balanced path going forward.

In Summary:
Jerry Falwell Sr.'s commitment to a strict evangelical approach was deeply influenced by his desire to reshape the moral landscape and possibly counteract the less savory aspects of his family's history. His vision radicalized evangelicalism, aligning it closely with far-right politics, a transformation that had lasting impacts on American political and religious culture.
Jerry Falwell Jr., however, doesn't appear to have had any widely recognized issues with racism or segregation prior to 2020, which marks a stark contrast with the controversies that exploded around him later. His leadership at Liberty University seemed to embody the ultra-conservative values his father espoused, but his personal scandals, particularly the affair with the pool boy, starkly contradicted the public persona he projected. This scandal was particularly poignant given his father's harsh stance against similar moral failings in others, highlighting a deep hypocrisy that often went unremarked in less prominent families.
The ominous saga of the Falwell’s underscores the complex dynamics within evangelical circles, where there has been a tension between public morality and private behavior. It suggests a need for a reevaluation of how evangelical leaders engage with politics and society, advocating for a return to core values that emphasize personal integrity and humility over public condemnation of others' imperfections.
This also raises broader questions about the path forward for evangelical communities. There might be merit in considering a separation of church and state interests as it’s founders supported. Such changes could potentially help the evangelical movement find a more sustainable and less divisive role in modern society, avoiding the pitfalls that ensnared the Falwells.
As a refresher for them, here’s some Jesus:

Matthew 5:43-48 (NIV)

43 “You have heard that it was said, ‘Love your neighbor and hate your enemy.’
44 But I tell you, love your enemies and pray for those who persecute you,
45 that you may be children of your Father in heaven. He causes his sun to rise on the evil and the good, and sends rain on the righteous and the unrighteous.
46 If you love those who love you, what reward will you get? Are not even the tax collectors doing that?
47 And if you greet only your own people, what are you doing more than others? Do not even pagans do that?
48 Be perfect, therefore, as your heavenly Father is perfect.”

And for those who follow the path of the fallen after learning of this, you’re not following the path of God, you’re following the path of the fallen angel.
