This is a long one and the details are important to the situation so there won’t be a TLDR. Let’s get into it:
I’m (32M) a real estate agent and a few months ago I went into an open house and met a lovely agent (31F) from another company. (Because of the nature of how real estate works, agents know other local people within the field possibly more so than in any other business. Two accountants at two different car companies probably will never cross paths, but two real estate agents at two separate firms almost certainly will, so this is an ever se slight “shitting where you eat” situation. This happens a few more times until the third time I make a joke off a particular situation that was happening and she started dying of laughter (this was about 2 months ago). I friend requested her on instagram later that day and messaged her a continuation of the joke. Recently (about a week ago) I was at an open house she was sitting and when I walked in we greeted each other and she went for a hug. The next morning she thumbs up reacts to the text and then 10 minutes later she “likes” the Instagram message from the night before with the standard heart reaction when you like something on instagram.

Currently in a full-time remote role at a large public state university for the last close to 4 years and got offered a new FT remote role with a 45% increase in salary at a smaller yet more prestigious private university in a different state. Trying to decide if i should take the position.
Benefit Cons: 1 less week of PTO 2 less sick days Higher insurance premium (about $400 more per month than what I’m currently paying) Will have to be on-site 2x a year for 2-3 days with travel paid out of pocket. Different time zone so the schedule is 1- hour behind, although they said they would be flexible with this.
I calculated that the current extra benefits would bring me down to about a 35%-ish increase in take home pay realistically speaking when accounting for the loss in PTO/Sick and Travel expense. Everything else is comparable to what I have now including the 401k.
In my current role we’re required to be on site 1x a year, however, I live close by and can drive there within an hour. Myself and kids can also get on my husbands insurance, if needed. We’re all on mine now bc it is a bit better than his. The new company has the same BCBS insurance and its equivalent coverage but I think has a higher premium bc the Univ. has a smaller number of employees.
It’s a slightly smaller office too so the workload will be a bit more..but it’s doing the same thing I am now so I don’t expect it to be too difficult as I’m pretty seasoned in the job. They are hiring 2 additional people too so once hiring is complete the workload will be spread out even further.
Id say there will be more opportunity for upward mobility in job titles in this new office. If I stay where I’m at, it’s basically the same position title and being stagnant for at least the next 4-5 years until some people retire. And even then, the salary increase will not be this high. I like my job now, and I love the people. I am comfortable, it’s flexible, i have a lot of personal time, I don’t NEED the extra $ but would be nice since my son is attending college next year and I can pay off some debts faster.
HERES the kicker THO. My current university gives a 75% tuition discount for dependents and my son could attend here basically for almost free. He’s said it’s his “back up plan” and doesn’t plan to go there unless his other college options decline…but still. The new University does offer a 50% tuition discount to dependents, however, with it being a private more prestigious institution the acceptance rate is very low so I don’t even know if he would get accepted! He also is applying for a ROTC scholarship so this may not even matter all together at the end of the day if he gets it and the military pays for his college. Too many “what ifs” with this part.
I guess I’m more so concerned with staying stagnant in my career.. I’d like to move up and around but I also am afraid of a new office culture/politics, toxic work environments, what if I hate it, etc.?

Hi! I (23F) have been with my boyfriend (23M) for 3 years now. I’m pretty happy where I’m at, and we’ve been through a lot together in these three years. Just things we each had going in our own lives, as well as some tough times in the relationship. We’ve had a conversation about how things occasionally feel stagnant, and I’m sure that’s bound to happen in a long term relationship. The love is still there, he takes care of me and I take care of him.
This is his first real serious relationship. As in living together, paying bills together, and seeing each other pretty much every day. He tells me that I’m a part of his family, like you’re not going to lose them because family is always family. But with that, sometimes it feels like we’re just living together. Not always together.
We’ve talked about this, and he’s mentioned that he is working on it, and I’ve noticed the change. But I also want to make sure that I’m doing myself a favor and making sure I don’t settle because I love this person and we’ve already been together for 3 years.
Ultimately, my question is how do I know I’m just settling because of commitment? Are there signs or things to note that I can do better but am just dealing with it?

I’ll try to keep this short. I graduated in May ‘22 with a bachelors of science in chemistry, and I got into a smaller pharmaceutical manufacturing company. I did that for about a year, and then transitioned into a Quality Control position at a larger unnamed pharma company on a year long contract with possible FTE conversion.
At the end of my contract. End of March I got “laid off” and told I not being converted to full-time, but I was also not even going to have that contract extended. Bummer.
I hated that position, I found the company to be stressful, with expected overtime each week (usually averaging 5-8+ over, and it had a commute 50 minutes there, Hour and 20 mins back) and although I enjoyed chemistry in college the lab environment was suffocating in the sense that I’m naturally a social, warm extrovert, who thrives on collaboration and interpersonal communication. The majority of people in my lab were more quiet individualistic types.
Another thing, I have no idea if this is all labs, but the majority of my frustrations came from having to stay late due to instrument failure and standardization issues. Half the time I stayed late, machines and technology were not cooperating, which is something you can never “plan in advance” for, which is especially frustrating. My supervisors and upper management couldn’t care less and expected you to figure it out on your own with minimal training
I’m deciding between two jobs. One is an entry level sales rep for a chemical company. I’ve killed it in interviews and my friends say I have the personality for someone who could do really well in sales. I’m chatty, friendly, and a go-getter. I enjoy public speaking and consider myself charismatic bc I can introduce myself and talk to strangers with ease. I view this position as the perfect blend of my interest and major, with a potential career change I can get into sort of a transitional stepping stone that has the best of both worlds. Mostly this is cold calling
I am also considering a lab tech role for an R&D position. To be clear, lab techs in my field are glorified assistants. We do a lot of essential duties but aren’t always shown the respect we deserve. This position after interviewing promises to not have crazy overtime the way my prior role did. It also seems to be a lot less stressful. I won’t have to calibrate and work with finicky equipment that will make me stay way later than I intend, and I feel like I could enjoy it and be a good fit.
The lab role is a step down both in title and pay. I was making 29 an hour before and had a more senior title and this is 24 an hour for a “lab assistant role.” the sales position is listed as 50-55k/year plus possible commission. I’m worried I’d be giving up something I could be good at if I take the lab assistant role, but am also worried that I’m effectively closing the door on a more science related career in a lab I might actually enjoy. I don’t know if I actually dislike the lab environment or if I’ve just had bad experiences.

1) The online dating has been disappointing. Been swiping through Bumble, Hinge, and Tinder, and it seems the only girls who tend to like me are very overweight (not my thing). I do get a few attractive matches here n' there, but they've either fizzled over the messages or been single moms; not interested in raising a kid right now. I have gone on a few dates off them, but the girls were definitely... "showing their good side" in their pictures.
I'm good looking; I work out 6 day's a week and keep groomed, and I think my pics are decent. I spent some time on my profiles. I'm willing to take some pointers on dating profiles, if ya'll think it'd help. It has just sorta shot my confidence that I'm not even worth a free meal; that is, spending an hour or so talking to me is not worth grabbing a lunch/dinner.

I've (20M) been feeling like I'm just going through the motions lately. I realized recently that I haven't been doing much outside of working, sleeping, and playing video games in between. For a bit of background, I I've been out of school for about 3 years now, and I pretty much put all my time into working my entry-level job straight out of school. I have next to no friends after having difficulty maintaining friendships out of school, and I don't often see the ones I do have. I've been told that I should make time to have more fun, but I feel like I have neither the money to do so nor the ability to make those plans happen. Plus, I dont even know where I'd go or what I'd do. I've never been a very socially adept person, and spending half my childhood locked in my bedroom didn't do anything to help that (not my choice.) I own a small business (independent dealership) in Virginia and I needed advice on what steps to take next. A about 4 months ago, a friend of mine recommended someone who he said offers engines at a cheaper price. The guy was located in New York so we made a deal over the phone for multiple engines. The total cost of the engines was $12,000. He sent a bill of sale from his supposed “company” and we had an agreement on when the engines were going to be shipped. So I sent him the payment via Zelle so the engines could be shipped on that agreed day. However, after receiving the payment, he kept delaying the shipment for various reasons and made many excuses. Eventually he claimed that “ the parts got damaged during transportation” and that he would be issuing me a refund after 30 days per his company’s policy. However at this time I became suspicious and googled his company but couldn’t find any information and thus realized the bill of sale he had sent was not from a legitimate company. Ever since, he has been saying that he is in the process of issuing me a refund but keeps making excuses. However, about a month ago, he did refund me a small portion, $2000, via Cashapp. He said he would send the rest slowly but hasn’t done anything since. He still owes me $9,000. Using his number and email, I did find his personal information such as name and house address so I know who he is. What should I do next and how should I go about resolving this issue?
I understand I made a mistake not verifying everything before sending it but that was mainly because he was recommended to me by a trustworthy person. This is a treacherous industry to be in and I’ve always been honest and truthful with everyone that I’ve worked with. Baby is freshly 6 months, currently on 2.25/2.5/2.5/3, bedtime 8, DWT 7:45 (baby would sleep later) day naps about 2 hours so just below 14 hours sleep per day.
I’m having a bit of trouble with his last nap and bedtime. I think he needs longer WWs before both, but that would mean he only has enough time for 3 30 minute naps. Last nap is a struggle to get him down for and he’s back to crying and taking up to 15 minutes to fall asleep at bedtime. Previously there were no tears since initially ST and he would be asleep in 5-10 minutes max.
I don’t think he’s ready for 2 naps because I don’t think he can handle 3 hours early in the day, and I don’t really want to do that because I hate trying to force long naps.

In an unexpected turn of events, while still in rehabilitation, I was presented with an opportunity to return to my former role as a Graphic Designer in February 2023. Yet, upon introspection, I realized my reluctance was less about fear of relapse and more about a deep-seated dissatisfaction with my chosen career. I took paroxetine for about 2 years, and i stopped taking them 2 months ago. So far ive felt really normal, however right now i feel wierd. Sometimes whenever i take a breath i just sniff , like a quick breathe in half a second long, then i breathe in. This started this monday, when i was taking a test in school when i started to do the sniff. It got a bit bad to where i thought that i wasnt breathing enough, however that feeling went away ina minute but the sniffs didnt. The next day, i took another test and i did better in not doing the sniffs, but then at the end i began to do them again. I feel anxious whenevrr i am in a big area, like a gym where i took my tests. I dont know wether im scared of the height or anything else, but when im in a gym i can only look down and even then i still feel anxious. Now, i do the sniff things even in a small room, when i used to feel safe. My questions are, is it okay for me to take the paroxetine again, as this monday i will need to be in the gym with many people and i dont want to make a scene, and are my extrenely quick breaths a problem that will resolve on its own before monday?

Hi all! I had a few days of headache with a new build recently using the B650 PLUS WIFI motherboard and I wanted to share what I tried and what worked for me!
Basically, the problem was that I was able to boot into windows just fine if I used my integrated graphics from my CPU. While in windows, I could move the HDMI from the motherboard port to the graphics card, and everything worked as expected with my GPU being recognized and working great. If I tried to turn on the computer with the HDMI cable plugged into the graphics card, the VGA LED on the motherboard would stay on and the computer would not boot.
It turns out my TV was not sending a signal (or strong enough signal) for it to clear POST. I fixed this by forcing my TV to used HDMI 2.0 (by turning off compatibility mode).
If you are having the same issue as I was, these are all the things to try. It's possible any one of these methods will be the solution for you:

1. Make sure your monitor is on before turning on your computer.
   
2. If it is on, check your monitoTV settings to force HDMI 2.0 with a compatible HDMI cable.
   
3. Unplug and re-plug in your GPU power cable, try a different cable if your PSU is modular.
   
4. Remove your CMOS battery for 10 seconds to reset your motherboard settings.
   
5. Switch your GPU between the available PCIe slots.
   
6. Try a few things with your RAM. Remove and re-seat. Use only one stick. Switch which stick is in which slot, and be sure you are using the right slots. (Example: using 2 sticks, my model required them to be in the second and fourth slot counting from the CPU)
   
7. Update your motherboard BIOs, be sure to get the right model! I tried the B650 PLUS on accident when I needed the B650 PLUS WIFI bios... No damage was done in case you get this wrong too!
   
8. Try booting with a different GPU, then switching back to your desired GPU.
   
9. Power cycle to drain your motherboard circuitry: Turn off computer and switch off PSU. Hold down power button, and switch the PSU on and off quickly 5 to 10 times.
   

If anyone else has any advice, please share here! At first, I tried everything except for number 2, which wound up being the solution for me! -_- I did not see anyone mention this possibility online, so hopefully this is everything you can try just short of RMAing the motherboard!

The game is new player friendly, I have a lot of experience introducing players into different TTRPGs, so you can expect patience and understanding, as me and possibly my friend help new players learn how to play DnD 5e and use FoundryVTT to the best of our abilities.
The campaign is set in a world of renaissance inspired where after a great war the age of exploration has begun and people just started colonizing newly discovered lands, the titular Unending Expanse.
Tame the wild lands, that haven't been touched by men, or so you were told. After something has happened in your life you decided to give it a chance and embarked on a ship, that sailed towards the Unending Expanse, maybe running form something, maybe seeking a new life or just for fun. You wouldn't probably afford this normally, but you've picked a contract form a lesser known mercenary company that wanted you to escort a group of settlers on their journey towards the future settlement.
The campaign is for morally grey characters, that are willing to take risks and morally dubious decisions, for their own gain or to make sure the plan succeeds.
Don't prepare characters beforehand, because we'll be using mostly homebrew character options including classes, subclasses and spells. Despite that, the game is new player friendly and I'll gladly help new players learn the game in their own pace.
The game is mostly sandbox with a few central quests, but I'm used to running sandbox games including players in the world building allowing players to express themselves thru in game decisions and making their choices really matter and build world that they inhabit.
I'm looking mostly for mature players, that are over the age of 18, because the game will be adventure with horror elements and difficult decisions, so I need players, that will be ok with that and will understand a difference between real world and fiction. If there is something you would like omitted form the game, then probably my game is not for you, cos I often mention difficult topics, but I try to stay tactful.
We'll be using FoundryVTT, but you need no prior knowledge, I'll do on-boarding as good as I can.
