2024.06.02 08:13 KiaraKawaii Guide: How to play FIRST STRIKE Nami
TLDR enclosed for each section directly under their respective subheading in bolded font TLDR (for this section): -
First Strike is good on many enchanters, esp vs matchups we outrange -
Aery is not dead, it is still good overall -
Being the more item-reliant support class, the faster we get gold the quicker we can reach item spikes Before I get into the specific build, I first need to explain how and why this whole setup works. First Strike is mostly taken as a gold-accelerating rune vs matchups that u outrange, ensuring that u get the "first strike" onto enemies consistently. With the changes to First Strike giving more base gold on the initial hit and less gold on subsequent hits compared to before, it pairs really well with a lot of enchanters' poke patterns. Usually, we have one poke spell and not much followup. The current First Strike matches this poke pattern perfectly (think Nami W, Sona E, Seraphine passive-empowered autos etc), allowing us to get an extra 15g per proc on top of our support item gold
I'm able to come out of lane with 300-400 gold fairly consistently. Pair this with free boots or Cash Back, and u can essentially double this amount of gold. Since enchanters tend to be quite item-reliant, having this extra gold generation allows us to reach our item spikes a lot faster, further increasing the snowball potential
Do keep in mind that we can still go Aery vs most matchups, it's just that some matchups First Strike is very abuseable. When unsure, default to Aery!

Having
originally posted this on NamiMains, I have come forth with a rune page that has been rising in popularity on enchanters: First Strike. Not only is this applicable on Nami, but on a lot of other enchanters who have decent range

1. CONTENTS -
2. Credentials -
3. So how/why does it work? -
4. ITEMS -
5. RUNES -
6. Core Mechanics of Nami W -
7. Final Words Due to the length and detail of this guide, I can understand if some fishies don't wish to read everything. In which case, I have included TLDRs in this post. For ease of access, here is the formatting guideline for the TLDRs of this post:
The following guide has been split into sections for easier navigation, if u are in a hurry for a specific section, scroll down to find the specific subheading that u need. Each explanation is also lengthy, but if u want a brief TLDR of each section, it will be enclosed for each section directly under their respective subheading in bolded font
2. Credentials
I know that some people really care about credentials, so I am leaving this here. Feel free to skip this section and jump straight into the content if it does not concern u
I am a Master tier enchanter main with over 2.8mil points on Nami. I am by no means a perfect player, I still make mistakes and have plenty of areas to improve on
So, please note that the following information serves as a recommendation and general guideline. It was compiled based off of my own personal experience. Said information is not concrete, nor is it a law that you must follow. You are entitled to your own preferences, playstyles, and opinions, which may differ from mine. My only intent here is to share information that some players may find helpful
3. So how/why does it work?
TLDR (for this section): -
Take First Strike vs matchups you outrange -
Nami E on allies procs First Strike -
The new Jack of All Trades rune should be utilised (see below for how) On Nami specifically, we have an additional way to proc First Strike, since Nami E on allies actually procs First Strike! The best part of this interaction is that ur ally can be hit by enemies with ur E buff, but bc it wasn't
you being hit directly, u will still retain the First Strike bonuses if ur ally hits enemies back with ur E buff despite being hit first! A common issue raised with this point is "what if my ADC is bad and doesn't use my E buff?" Don't worry, I got u covered too! So, whenever u empower an auto or ability that is still travelling middair towards the enemy, if u E urself or ur ally during said auto/ability, the slow and bonus dmg from E will still apply on impact. So, if u notice that ur ADC has cast an auto or ability onto the enemy, try to E them while this auto/ability is still travelling towards the enemy. Not only will this maximise E duration, give enemies minimal time to react to the slow and extra dmg, but it will also ensure that u proc First Strike due to E buff, as well as Manaflow Band and other item effects
This also works on ur own autos and abilities, and chaining abilities tgt like this will also help to cancel Nami's lengthy spell animation for more efficient trade patterns, hence better First Strike usage. Since W is our most consistent poke ability, we ideally want to start with this ability when trying to proc First Strike. This differs slightly from the regular Aery setup where we want to auto -> E ourself while our auto is still middair travelling towards enemy -> W enemy -> bubble/ult or let the bounceback heal retaliate enemy dmg. Instead, we want to W -> E ourselves while W is still middair travelling towards the enemy -> auto -> disengage with bounceback heal or bubble/ult
3.1. Jack of All Trades
Supports are actually able to utilise the new Jack of All Trades rune surprisingly well. Our support item alone already covers 3 of the 10 stats required. Here are the list of stats that we will generally be able to obtain on supports: - AP - HP - Health Regen - Mana Regen - Haste - Movespeed - %Movespeed - Heal/Shield Power - Armor - Magic Resist - Mana (?) - Magic Pen (?)
In order to get these stats, we will need our support item which gives HP, health regen, and mana regen. Most items will cover the haste component. Boots for the movespeed stat. Ardent will give us the %movespeed as well as heal/shield power. But if we don't need Ardent, then we can split this into any other heal/shield power item + Shurelya's. Armor + magic resist can be optained from Locket or Wardstone. Alternatively, if we don't need armor + magic resist, we can instead trade these stats for magic pen + mana instead (will also explain this in further detail below)
As you can see, the items required for Jack are situational items. It is important to identify during champ select if said items, particularly Ardent/Shurelya's + Locket/Wardstone, will be built for this game. Altho, these items will be applicable in most situations anyway
If u don't need these items for that particular game, or if u don't feel like u'll be able to reach all these stats for whatever reason, then Cosmic Insight is always a great staple. Lower summ cds for lower Flash and Heal cds, notoriously long-cd spells, as well as item haste. Item haste works on non-active item cds such as Dream MakeCelestial/Solstice/Zaz'Zak's cds, Mandate mark cds, as well as lowering trinket cd etc.
4. ITEMS
TLDR (for this section): -
Skip paragraphs to see builds under their respective subheadings (4.1. Defensive Build and 4.2. AP Build) below -
Each individual dot point reperesents one individual item slot Alright, now that all the theory work is out of the way, we can finally move onto the specific build (what everyone is here for). There are two main builds to go about this. Each individual dot point reperesents one individual item slot:
4.1. Defensive Build
- Support Item (upgrade does not matter, as long as u have the base support item)
- Mandate
- Lucidity boots
- Shurelya's + SoFW/Mikael's/Redemption/Dawncore OR Ardent + Helia/Mejai's/Morello/situational (buy Dark Seal on first recall if u plan on getting Ardent)
- Locket/Wardstone
This build is run in situations where u need the defensive stats from Locket or Wardstone vs harder comps or matchups, with Locket being particularly good vs AoE and/or burst dmg. This build will also cover all the stats from Jack of All Trades (see list from previous section)
Ardent is the most efficient item for Jack due to it providing mana regen, heal/shield power, and %movespeed, all in one item. This will free up an extra item slot where we can buy a situational item, like antiheal, or if it's not needed then Dark Seal into Mejai's is always a great alternative for cheap AP (Nami has good AP ratios), or any other alternative item that u may need
However, it may not always be an Ardent game. In situations where it isn't an Ardent game (non-autoattack-reliant comps), u will need to split the %movespeed and heal/shield power stats into 2 separate items. Typically, Shurelya's + any other Forbidden Idol item will cover this. You can also go for any other item that gives %movespeed, but I find Shurelya's the most consistent. The main downside is ofc, the build being quite rigid if u go for this option (no room for antiheal or other situational items)
Also smth handy to note regarding Helia, the dmg portion of Helia does indeed proc First Strike!
4.2. AP Build
- Support Item (upgrade does not matter, as long as u have the base support item)
- Mandate
- Sorc Shoes
- Archangel's (buy Tear on first recall preferrably, or second recall latest)
- Shurelya's + SoFW/Mikael's/Redemption/Dawncore OR Ardent + Mejai's/Morello/Horizon Focus/Cryptbloom/situational (buy Dark Seal on first recall if u plan on getting Ardent)
This is a more AP-focused build in situations where u don't need to be so defensive. We omitted the armor and magic resist from Locket/Wardstone for mana (Archangel's) and magic pen (Sorc Shoes). Nami E on allies uses her own magic pen, hence Sorc Shoes here
5. RUNES
TLDR: - Inspiration: First Strike, Magical FootweaCash Back, Biscuits, Jack of All Trades/Cosmic Insight
- Sorcery: Manaflow + Transcendence/Absolute Focus/Celerity/Scorch/Gathering Storm OR Transcendence/Absolute Focus + Gathering Storm
- Double Adaptive + Scaling HP OR 8AH + 2%MS + Scaling HP
The more specifics to optimise ur runes to their respective builds:
5.1. Runes for Defensive Build
- Inspiration: First Strike, Cash Back, Biscuits, Jack of All Trades/Cosmic Insight
- Sorcery: Manaflow + Transcendence/Absolute Focus/Celerity/Scorch/Gathering Storm
- Double Adaptive + Scaling HP OR 8AH + 2%MS + Scaling HP
Omitted free boots for Cash Back. Since this is for the defensive build, we will need to rush Lucidity boots vs hard matchups. Not only are Lucidity boots a cheaper option so it gives a faster spike in movespeed vs skillshot-heavy lanes, the lower Flash cd will be good vs engage lanes. Jack vs Cosmic has been explained in previous sections
Manaflow + Transcendence is default. For in-depth explanation:
Manaflow is essential for defensive build. Only go Absolute Focus in situations where enemies lack poke, allowing u to maintain the HP threshold for the AP. Transcendence is a good default, when unsure u can always default to this due to Nami's long cds. Pair both these with double adaptive minor shards option. Celerity if u need the movespeed vs heavy-skillshot comps (pair this with the 2% movespeed minor shard option)
I personally don't recommend Scorch with the First Strike setup due to the scaling nature of this build. However, Scorch is typically good with early-game ADCs or matchups where u have early pressure. Scorch also barely adds any bonuses to First Strike, especially as the game progresses. Avoid Scorch if enemies have sustain, as they can easily outheal or outshield that bit of Scorch dmg. When unsure, or in any other situation, go Gathering Storm
5.2. Runes for AP Build
- Inspiration: First Strike, Magical Footwear, Biscuits, Jack of All Trades/Cosmic Insight
- Sorcery: Transcendence/Absolute Focus + Gathering Storm
- Double Adaptive + Scaling HP
Due to the more expensive nature and higher scaling potential of this build, go free boots so that u can focus on rushing items. Since we go Archangel's with this build, we won't need Manaflow. For maximum scaling, I recommend Absolute Focus + Gathering Storm (also the greediest option). Otherwise, Transcendence as explained prior
6. Core Mechanics of Nami W
TLDR (for this section): -
More than 100AP -> subsequent bounces heal/dmg MORE -
Less than 100AP -> subsequent bounces heal/dmg LESS -
W has slightly longer range when self-cast Smth absolutely crucial to these First Strike builds, as well as any other AP Nami builds, is understanding her W bounce mechanic. I often get asked why AP Nami, so I will just include this section here as well. For the fellow fishies who already about this, please feel free to skip this section
The reason why AP Nami is a thing is bc of the way her W scaling works to begin with. We unironically heal more with AP builds than enchanter builds. Allow me to explain:
Patch 14.6: 'The damage and healing value is modified by *-15% (+7.5% per 100AP)** each bounce.'*
Patch 14.7: 'The damage and healing value is modified by *-10% (+10% per 100AP)** each bounce.'*
Before I explain how to get crazy heal/dmg numbers on Nami's W bounces, I first need to explain her unique scaling on W. Unlike most other enchanters who benefit from heal/shield power, Nami's W has a unique scaling where subsequent bounces become weaker pre-100AP, and become stronger post-100AP. This threshold was at 200AP before the most recent changes on her, so they buffed it significantly by lowering the threshold down to only requiring 100AP instead of 200, making AP builds even more potent now in terms of healing and dmg. As such, Nami benefits more from stacking AP than heal/shield power
To give some perspective, previously if I had 200AP my W bounces would be equally as strong as each subsequent bounce. However, with these changes, with 200AP our W is now amped by 10%, and will continue amping by 10% for every 100AP. Getting 400AP on AP Nami builds is very doable with the right setup, buffing our subsequent bounces by 30% per bounce. This means our second bounce will be 30% stronger than the first, and our third bounce will be
60% stronger than the first bounce, which does not need further explaining as to why this is absolutely obnoxious when it comes to dmg and healing values
These changes also mean that a lot of Nami players will need to learn to prioritise their bounces according to what they need. Before, some enchanter builds struggled to reach the 200AP threshold, so we could just autopilot the first bounce without giving it much thought. Now, bounce prioritisation will actually become a prominent part of her kit
To explain how to alternate W effectively with an example, if my primary target (the one I want to dmg/heal the most) is
A and my secondary target (less priority target) is
B, then I will alternate my W bounces as follows:
- For most healing: W1 bounce to ally B -> W2 bounce to enemy -> W3 bounce to ally A for maximum healing
- For the most dmg: W1 bounce to enemy B -> W2 bounce to ally for heal -> W3 bounce to enemy A for the maximum dmg
And ofc, if u have Mandate then make sure to use E before W to ensure ur W bounces do even more dmg and proc Mandate c:
6.1. Did You Know?
If you hover over Nami's W, you may notice multiple rings. The outer ring indicates Nami's W range when self-cast, meaning that the ability has a slightly longer range when you cast it on yourself bouncing towards an enemy (25 more range) rather than casting it on an ally to bounce or straight onto an enemy. So if u ever need to W urself first, or need just a bit of extra range, make sure to utilise this. To execute this most effectively, I recommend using alt+W for self-cast
7. Final Words
I really hope this helps out some fellow supports. This build can be a bit difficult to grasp at first, and will take some time to learn and get used to. But always rmb that when unsure u can always go back to Aery as it will always remain the most consistent option overall
I'm also aware that First Strike is being nerfed next patch from 15g -> 10g. Personally, I think it could still be situationally good. Also, I apologise for any typos that may have been made, as the post was quite lengthy and was done on phone (so I may have missed some typos while proofreading) đđ
This is also my first time making a post to this this degree of length and detail, so if there are any formatting errors or discomforts, please feel free to leave feedback below for me to improve on! 2024.06.02 08:00 Neldere An unsent love letter
Dearest,
I want you to understand me fully, because I find it immensely difficult to communicate any of this unless it is all laid out as one mindset, for I fear being misconstrued as ill-intended when for me this is an exercise of truth and speaking that truth which I feel. It is an exercise of honesty, and one of humility as I lay bare before your conscious attention the fullness of my feeling.
I have loved and I have lost. A number of times now, in various ways. I have explored depths of despair, loneliness, grief, trauma, and other shadowy sides to myself and after entertaining death itself for years, I have emerged refreshed and cleansed. I choose life and all that this incarnation has in store for me while my lungs continue to take breath and my heart continues to beat.
My orientation to life has long been to clench and grip and grab and tightly hold on to illusions of control and security. To ensnare people with untenable relationship arrangements founded on a lack of self-acceptance and love. To entertain conditional and transactional experiences with other humans, for fear of being taken advantage of. These seeds I have allowed to take root have sprung up many times, as I have continued to water and enrich them with anxieties and fears. No longer. I choose to live and to love. I choose to cultivate a space of love that welcomes and accepts and validates and entertains without the need for gripping and containing those who enter it. And as the space expands the walls of my heart, the incalculable depths of loving potential arise to the surface and saturate my being. I choose to be love itself, incarnate as far as my current form will allow. I honor my limitations and find great serenity in accommodating and challenging them in due course.
One of my core powers is understanding the nature of limitation itself. Thus I recognize that in terms of my love, a limit does not exist that can ever long persist. My love is infinite. As I fall into the space of love, I too am infinite as a whole and no longer feel a need to leave this form, or end things, or to do anything especial to avoid suffering. I am just love itself, and that is enough to satisfy my mind and my heart and my soul. All that exists that may limit the outpouring of this love is the nature of my form, and that blessedly is ever changingâseemingly to the benefit of all, and will ever grow alongside the expansion of my heart.
This space is supremely difficult to remain in forever. But when I am with you dearest, I am always in that space. I am always in that space of love with you. Even right now. I am in love with you. Do you get what I am saying? I love you as a person, a human, a being in general. I adore so many aspects of you. But I am also IN the space of love WITH you. I am in love WITH you. I love you, but I am also in love with you.
I have no fear stating this. How could I be afraid of loving utterly she for whom I hold all desire? How could I fear you, dearest, when your embrace is pure comfort and pleasure? You are divinely saturated in feminine expression and attract every atom of my being like a super-magnet. In fact, you instead take all my fears away and alchemize them into precise and pristinely perfect inspiration for me to cheerfully ingest, effortlessly. You ARE my inspiration, my muse, my lady, my woman, and my lover in my mind and in my heart.
Your laugh is a fountain of music and your speech an enchantment for my ears. Your smile as you grin at me is so wonderfully and delightfully silly, mischievous, cheerful, hopeful, and full of desire all at once. I have never felt my capacity to love so challenged as by you, but neither have I ever recognized just how utterly willing I am and will ever be to fully explore that capacity with you.
The way your eyes sparkle with celestial radiance, and draw me down into their depths is a fantasy ride into the very dreamy undertones of my most private subconscious sensualities. And with a bright unserious laugher bubbling up in the blink of said eyes, you make me go to pieces with chagrin and humility in the best possible way. Often, your glance pierces with icy diamond sharpness, but gives way to pools of the most vibrant tropical paradise blue that are wells of the deepest wisdom; a spring from the mountains that begins a stream that will take a lifetime to meet the sea. I would swim in the depths of those pools forever, were I so fortunate as to be invited closer than the leaves of the trees on the edge of the forest. The Keen-Eyed I name you, for there exists no veil or shroud over me that your gaze cannot penetrate with swift and unyielding overtones of warmth and delight. No shadow can endure that light.
Your skin is taut; your muscles wroughtâof strength, and powerful endurance. You make the lands vibrate with joy and excitement as the wind chases your feet as they dance through the world. When it is out, the sun glows dazzlingly, glittering with tiny rainbows of color as it plays across your aesthetic and athletic form, and all the wildflowers yearn in anticipation as you passâhoping for the glory and chance of being picked and tucked behind your earâto their greatest delight and honor. Framing the soft expanse of your brow, the tresses of your hair flash with a rare and glorious golden radiance that only the light of the stars glittering in the inky darkness of night could produce. Their glow traverses the infinite emptiness of space only to at long last become ensnared and woven into the soft strength of each strand, to radiate that light anew.
When I hug you, I realize that if I could, I would freeze time and spend an eternity just holding you in my arms, lovingly caressing your hair and back as your soft gentle weight presses into me, comforting me utterly with the honoring of the full humility of my stark humanity. Feeling your acceptance, and validation and encouraging enrichment through holding you makes me possessed by great sorrow, knowing I must let you go, but it also leaves me with a lasting serenity and pleasure, knowing that within the space of this long lifetime, I somehow have been so unbelievably fortunate as to have been graced by so loving of an embrace. Humans go entire lifetimes without ever experiencing such a wondrous experience, and I treasure it every time it occurs.
You will never owe me anything, nor suffer any binding at my hand, save those of your own choosing. I offer you infinite depths of connection and reassurance amidst the wide world, but I do not seek to contain or cage you. You have a path to walk just as I do, but I would have yours lead back to me each moment that it may. I would cherish and love you all the days of my life, and never would I intentionally overstep your boundaries nor subject you to violence. I would uphold your honor and work to emphasize your grace with my own stature and beauty and power. Such that is granted to me by the space of each moment, anyways. There is great potential for mutual growth and fulfillment between us over the length of a lifetime if we are willing to invest in developing a deeper intertwining of our bodies and our souls. I recognize many limits but no limit to the depths we might explore together. The universe is vast, but perfection abounds from the highest highs to the deepest depths, and as long as I have you nearby, I may envision it and establish it in turn, for the benefit of our family, should you choose to spend your time in my company in a home of our own.
And if your choice is to seek a path that follows a diversion from my own, I will accept it with graceful resignation, wishing you only the utmost happiness for all your days. I may strain to understand how any other might love you with greater ardor than my heart is aflame with, but the cosmos does not revolve around me, and I recognize that there persist many potential partners of greater consideration and so I willingly let go of any claim I might try to lay for your hand. Instead I offer only a blessing, that should the universe favor me at long last, that this letter will not fall astray and will arrive to a welcome reception in the halls of your heart. Should it not, I will sit with contentment, recognizing my own bravery and madness in sending it, and regretting not the choice to seek your fancy.
You are a treasure dearest, and I am a treasure seeker. I covet many gems and beautiful minerals and crystals that this wondrous planet has grown and shaped. But no crystal radiates as you do. No crystal has so beautiful of colors. Nor is as delightfully energizing as you are. I find no greater assurance in any rock or stone than I do holding your hands and being within the sphere of your aura. I have faith that I will become as strong or as harmonious or supportive as ever you might wish me to be, if only were the smile in your eyes to wake me from dreamspace each morning alongside the rays of the sun and so inspire me to greatness.
May this wishful boat of heartfelt intention and deep desire sail gently into the cavernous depths of your being beneath the mountainous wall of the outer bulwark of your defenses, and may it receive safe harborage in the twilight pools of dreams that glow like galaxies in the soft glimmer of crystal-laden caves that house your soul. May it meet there the doorway to your heart, and may it pass over the threshold, to begin anew the conjugation of the universe with itself through the vehicle of our mutual love.
For K,
Who never received it, having chosen another lover.

3. ITEMS
TLDR (for this section): -
Skip paragraphs to see builds under their respective subheadings (3.1. Defensive Build and 3.2. AP Build) below -
Each individual dot point reperesents one individual item slot Alright, now that all the theory work is out of the way, we can finally move onto the specific build (what everyone is here for). There are two main builds to go about this. Each individual dot point reperesents one individual item slot:
Nami E on allies uses her own magic pen, hence Sorc Shoes here
5. Core Mechanics of Nami W
TLDR (for this section): -
More than 100AP -> subsequent bounces heal/dmg MORE -
Less than 100AP -> subsequent bounces heal/dmg LESS -
W has slightly longer range when self-cast Smth absolutely crucial to these First Strike builds, as well as any other AP Nami builds, is understanding her W bounce mechanic. I often get asked why AP Nami, and it would be natural for some fishies to come forth and ask about this too, so I will just include this section here as well.
6. Final Words
Phew! That was probably one of my lengthiest explanations made into a single post to date! I really hope this helps out some fellow fishies.
For all the fishies that stayed til the end, I genuinely want to thank u and appreciate time and support đ„șđ©·đ©·
Hope this explains everything!

2024.06.02 07:30 anonnumous Dear H
here i am at 9:33pm, journaling to occupy myself, knowing that youâre 27 now. last yearâs halloween party pops in my mind, the mental instagram reel of us posing together in our costumes. i deleted the picture yet I still remember it, clear as day. my eyes were slightly crossed from alcohol and you were smiling, hard. you told me that i looked fine, just slightly drunk, but i always wondered if you just liked how you looked in it with your broad shoulders in your roommateâs ironic costume idea.
I remember all these things. do you? do you remember the night i attempted to tell you of my mistake, and you kissed me in the dark. the nights we laughed and talked, woke up together, planned our sundays together. itâs as if it was yesterday we were running to Aldiâs to help you with your grocery shopping. When we would make breakfast and binge Kitchen nightmares and Breaking Bad, rushing to get our work done so we could sneak a couple beers in before the night ended to fall asleep in each others arms. do you remember? or do i mean nothing to you now? a stranger, a crazy ex, a story youâll tell to your next SO someday whoâll scoff and call me a bitch the same way I did with your ex. the night when I sang a childhood song and everyone joined in despite our driverâs anime music playlist. so so many stupid âinstagram reelsâ.
how difficult the days have become pursuing my career when youâre all i can fucking think about. Iâm sorry, Iâm a girl; it sickens me to have possibly been a source of... entertainment. But I know itâs not like that. I know you care. how pathetic i am at how much time i allowed myself to waste because of how the world seemed to stop and everything felt okay when i looked into your big, beautiful eyes. eyes that looked so innocent and beautiful to me then. the puppy like expression when youâd lay in my lap as i played with your hair, the pleasure of watching the weight of the world leave your shoulders when i massaged them because knowing i could make your day just 0.01% made my world shine just a little bit brighter.
the nights we spent talking Winter Break, the drunk calls youâd unknowingly make because you claimed you missed me. I loved you so stupidly much. the laughing, giggling, the favors youâd do for me. the spot in your bathroom that you somehow let me occupy for whatever reason. the time i got my period and nearly flushed in tears from sharing a traumatic experience, being fascinated by your love for our culture in a way id never seen, your love for houses, cars, real estate. the times youâd show me your emails and let me proofread them with my Nazi grammar. all of it. i fucking miss all of it. every moment. every day. every second. itâs you i canât get out of my fucking mind. itâs your stupid laugh, that grin, that smile that drove me nuts, i wish i could burn the memories like pieces of paper in the fireplaces. small pieces of paper like the ones iâd use to write you love letters and reminders and hide them under your pillow; god Iâm so sorry I smothered you. Know that I am so, so, sorry for everything. the idiotic allergies youâd get for no reason like a nerd, calling me a nerd, the nerdy acne youâd get right around your nose, that fucking one adorable dimple thatâd creep out when youâre about to laugh or youâre making a stupid joke. my mind is a fucking hellfire of these stupid memories that i canât extract. i want my heart to stop breaking every time i see someone at my job doing their fucking rotations. i want my soul back. i want my life back. i want my fucking emotions back. i used to be so happy and bubbly, your friends bullying me for being so naive and i never wouldâve imagined youâd be the one to pop my bubble and make me feel so scarred. watching the beautiful moments turn into a living hell and just feeling like a skeleton of the girl i used to be because of the amount of pain you inflicted on me.
I love you.

2024.06.02 05:08 muzuhile Leggings recommendations that don't constantly fall down?
Slim-thick ladies, what are you favorite leggings?
My lower body legit looks like a photoshopped fitfluencer lmao I genetically have a bubble butt, no hammies and a tiny waist, which has now been amplified by lifting. I also have a longer torso so I only wear high waisted otherwise I get plumbers crack.
I love Lululemon, but if I buy a comfy size for my ass/quads they never stay up on my waist and I'm constantly pulling them up, or if I buy a smaller size it's comfy in the waist but I get a horrible camel toe. I've tried aligns and wunder under. I like them for casual wear but I'm constantly picking them out of my crotch when lifting.
I love the waist bands and no front seam on alphalete, but they're kinda see through and a little too compressive in the legs/ass. I do like the thicker material of them though because it prevents a camel toe. These have been the only leggings that fit my body shape so well.
Is there a brand that makes leggings like alphalete but with non-see through fabric?
Thanks!!

2024.06.02 05:03 NienNunb1010 A little homage that I love in Licorice Pizza
Among many other movies that influenced Licorice Pizza, American Grafitti is clearly a major influence. It is similar tonally and is also interested in examining nostalgia. So something I think is neat is how the font PTA uses in the opening credit is nearly identical to those used in American Graffiti. submitted by NienNunb1010 to paulthomasanderson [link] [comments]

2024.06.01 23:34 belleknit Font pairing: Big Caslon and ?
I am working on a printed project and was using Big Caslon as the overall font. The printer is concerned that the
finer lines on some of the letters (see, for example, N or M) will be "filled in" during printing. This is only a concern for the text (it's a poster), not the title, which is in Big Caslon and isn't changing.
I need to find a decent font to pair it with that isn't too modern. Any recommendations of free fonts would be much appreciated!

2024.06.01 23:04 TheViktor9000 Drawing Progress with Mia with a Little Poorly Written Improvised Story...
A quick simple sketch using various stock footage on Pinterest as reference The somewhat finished ink drawing, with some mistakes that was to be cleaned up via Photoshop Finished results, background is a random watercolor painting of clouds that I found. Background music: Long Day by Guru Griff The walk back home felt more slower than when I walked to class this morning. Like having concrete shows stuck inside the bones of my feet. Never thought that I would be so mentally exhausted like I was a five year old kid playing a game of five dimensional chess with Raptor Jesus and Sherlock Holmes as my opponents. But there she was again, the Dino Amazonian car mechanic I saw earlier this morning, once again taking a smoke break. This time, sitting by some concrete stair cases designed to be resting places for the exhausting tourists who would spend countless of money of cheap teacups and hats. As I was in a hurry this morning, I find myself standing from a distance. I lean against the bricked walls of a old pharmacy that is now a cafeteria that may change name by every seasons, trying to act like I would be in a Hudson Rex movie. I study her to see if I can deduce her story like a true detective. Aside how pretty she looks and despite that she seems to be only about a couple of years older than me, her posture is like of a hard skinned veteran or a drop out high schooler, and her eyes... Never realized how much fire they seems to hide, yet they just are mellow and stoic as they stare out for millions of miles in front. She seems to be a part of greaser culture or maybe former, due to her shoes of a particular brand that you can only buy at the Goth-a-saurus online clothes store, her hair style had this distinct smell from a more motor oil hairstyle spray. Or maybe it was just the oil grease from the garage, there is always that. She smokes that cigarette that I think is a Newport brand with uncanny ease like I would breath air. No real enjoyment of it, just breath in and breath out, letting out a big cloud of cancer inducing smoke out in the air. Though ironically, she notices a couple of a baby carriage, then she stops acting like a smoking train engine and waits until the couple passes happily passes by. The human man with his winged ptero wife seems really happy as they chat with each other and the new born baby, though I am quick to notice the sharp twitch on her nuzzle. Is it anger? Content? Shame? Guilt? A bit of everything? What could this pink and blonde woman have done to have such a powerful mixed reaction towards people who seems to have a happy life going on, that she seems to refuse and reject it out like a circus performer with lactose intolerance who just drank milk in spite? I realize my fuck up when she turns her stoic gaze upon me. I might as well have been naked while carrying a huge cut board over my chest with big fonts that says "I Hate Triggas" written by how subtle I was trying to study her. I do pray that maybe she thinks that I was looking at her by accident, just me being casual and looking around. Though again, me being naked with a very offensive statement written on a cutout board. Very subtle, it is not. Though I see something. In her eyes. A flash of something. I can't deter what exactly. Does she recognize me from this morning? It was just so brief, I just zipped by her. Am I standing out so much, despite this city being populated majority by humans. I think I only saw like two dino students back in college. What is it with her eyes, I feel so... Targeted? They really pinpoint through me like burning hot needles into own eyes. Then suddenly as the very silenced air was interrupted by the violent honk from a worn out 80s station wagon driven by a Karen T-Rex lady, honking against a innocent bicyclist who just stood on the side of the road minding his own business talking with someone in his phone. I turn my focus back to the Marmalade Needle Piercer, only to see that she is roughly and quickly pressed the cancer sticks into a built in ashcan on the top of a garbage bin passing by. And just like that... She was gone. ... Who is she? submitted by

2024.06.01 22:25 YoungBassHead LISTEN HERE YOU LITTLE SQUIRT
Listen here, you little squirt. You think you can just waltz into the internet and act all high and mighty? I've been lurking in the depths of cyberspace since the days of dial-up, navigating the forums and memes before you even knew what a keyboard was. My knowledge of obscure internet lore and dank memes is unparalleled. I was there when we first Rickrolled the unsuspecting masses, and I laughed in the face of cringe compilations.
I've seen the rise and fall of viral trends, the birth of epic win and epic fail, and the relentless march of progress from Harambe to Area 51. My browser history is a graveyard of forgotten memes and viral sensations. So before you even think about challenging my internet prowess, just remember: I am the alpha and omega of web culture. I am the meme lord. Bow before your digital overlord, or prepare to be thoroughly and utterly schooled in the art of the meme.
Do you think you understand the true nature of "dank"? You couldn't even begin to comprehend the sheer depth and complexity of a proper meme if it hit you in the face like a wet fish in a Monty Python sketch. My memes are so advanced, they have transcended time and space, creating a wormhole of hilarity that even Stephen Hawking couldn't explain.
While you were out there living your basic, normie life, I was studying the bladeâno, not that kind of blade. The blade of the ultimate meme. Do you think "Big Chungus" is funny? Kid, I've been through the entire evolution of the meme universe, from "All Your Base Are Belong to Us" to the "GigaChad" phase. My memes are so spicy that they'd make the Carolina Reaper blush.
Oh, and don't get me started on my Photoshop skills. I can whip up a meme so fast, it'll make your head spin faster than Sonic on Red Bull. My layers are pristine, my fonts are always Comic Sans, and my impact text placement? Impeccable. I've created memes that have ended friendships and started revolutions. My memes are like the perfect cup of coffeeâdark, robust, and with just the right amount of milk.
So, unless you want to find yourself in a world of hurt, where every comment you make is met with the most cutting, blistering, soul-crushing meme comebacks imaginable, I suggest you back down. Go back to your Instagram filters and your TikTok dances. Leave the real internet work to the professionals. The meme gods. The keyboard warriors who have fought in the trenches of 4chan and Reddit.
And if you ever feel brave enough to step into my domain again, remember this: I am inevitable. I am the meme. And you? You're just a normie trying to survive in a world that you can't even begin to understand. So go ahead, give me your best shot. But just know, I've already won. Because in the end, all your base are belong to us.

I am very new to the whole college admissions thing and I've been doing all of this for my own ambition up until recently when I started to realize I need to focus on college. (My family hasn't pushed college, so again, it's all on me.) I intend to do another internship/apprenticeship in the future. If I don't have good chances for USC, what other highly ranked colleges would I have a shot at?

2024.06.01 21:39 all_bout_jack Johnny Depps M1 helmet in Platoon
Hi! Anybody knows what's written (graffiti) at the back of Johnny Depps M1 helmet in Platoon (movie, 1986)? I only know the one on the left that says "Sherilyn" and F.T.A. On the left, I see part of the phrase or sentence that ends with the word "HOME!" On top of it are the letters "Y" and "R". This is like a game of Jeopardy, lol In Front, is a heart and arrow with initials "S.F." (Sherilyn Fen- his ex gf) and on the helmet band is "IN GOD WE TRUST"...Plus a cross. I did some research and I thougt it says "Gookes Go Home!" But what are the letters "Y" and "R". I would really appreciate it if someone can decipher this puzzle. submitted by all_bout_jack to Historycord [link] [comments]
2024.06.01 21:35 tropical_rabbit Call of the Tunnels (Part 3)
Part 2 While I was deciding what to do next, Aimee burst through the door. She was soaking wet and shivering. Her clothes were matted down with dirt and mud.
âWhere were you?â I asked.
âI was lost in the woods,â she said.
âHow did you get there?â I asked.
âI don't knowâŠI just remember going to sleep next to you and then all of a sudden I was in the woods,â she said as she continued to shiver.
I helped her into the bathroom and wrapped my arms around her to try and warm her up.
âYou'll get all dirty,â she said.
âIt's okay, I don't mind at all,â I said.
She kissed me before leaning her head into my chest. Then she stepped back and looked at me. âLooks like we'll both need a shower now,â she said. âWant to join me?â
She carefully took off her dirty clothes and piled them on the floor. Then she helped me get mine off before grabbing my hand and leading me into the shower with her.
After we were finished and dry, we got dressed. She put on new clothes and I had to put the same ones on again. âGuess I should have gotten clean clothes first,â I said.
âI'll go with you so you can get changed and hopefully Josh will be thereâŠwe really need to talk to him,â she said.
âI agree. He's been acting weirder than the rest of us have.â
We took the stairs to my floor and walked over to my room. The door was slightly ajar. We pushed it further open and peeked inside before going in. At first, we didn't see anything, but after we walked in, Aimee was the first to notice him.
âOh my God!â she shouted.
It was Greg's roommate, Amir. He was lying on the floor behind my bed. Bubbles of drool were coming out of his mouth and his eyes were wide open. He looked terrified and his mouth was twitching but he made no sound.
âGet help!â shouted Aimee before she knelt down beside him.
I called 9-1-1 on my phone while running into the hall and yelling for help. Some of my floormates came over first. Then the RA joined us with a first aid kit. He pulled out a CPR mask and began doing chest compressions before breathing into Amir's mouth.
The paramedics arrived pretty quickly and took over for the RA. Campus police showed up next while the EMTs were putting Amir on a stretcher and wheeling him to the elevator.
We were questioned by the campus police and then by the local police. Greg and Emily came over while we were still talking to them and couldn't believe what happened. The police told us to stay out of my room while they looked around but that we were free to go.
I peeked inside before we walked away and saw a dark shape moving around inside. âHey, I think someone's in there!â I shouted to the police. They ran inside and looked around. There weren't many places to hide so their search was quick and didn't turn up anyone.
âSorry,â I said when they came back out. âI thought I saw something move in there.â
âYou can stay in our room,â Emily said. âI'll stay with GregâŠpoor Amir. I wonder what happened?â
âWe should look for Josh,â said Greg.
I tried calling Josh but it went straight to voicemail. âCall me back,â I said before hanging up. I also sent him a text message asking where he was and to call me.
âHe's probably in the room,â I said.
Emily brightened up. âWe should go now and see if he is there,â she said.
âI need something to eat first,â I said. âWant to go to the cafeteria first and then head out?â
âGood idea,â said Greg.
We went to the cafeteria and shared a table after getting our food. All of us, except for Emily, had class today, but we were all okay with skipping so we could find Josh.
After we were finished eating, we went outside. The sun was out but there were a lot of clouds moving in.
âThat doesn't look good,â said Aimee, pointing to the low dark gray clouds heading towards us.
Lightning flashed followed pretty quickly by a rumble of thunder.
âMaybe we should go back in and wait this out,â I said.
Before anyone answered, the rain began to quickly fall. We all ran back inside as more lightning lit up the darkening day.
âNow what do we do?â asked Greg.
âI guess we should go to our classes,â I said.
Emily let me borrow her umbrella since I couldn't go back to my room yet and we all went our separate ways.
I sat down near the back in my Economics class and hoped nothing weird was going to happen. The girl that was at Josh's table the other day was a couple rows in front of me. During class she kept looking back at me every so often and smiling.
After class was over she came over to me. âAren't you Josh's roommate?â
âYes, I'm John.â
âMy name is Nicole. Can I talk to you for a moment?â
âSure. Let's go out in the hall.â
We found a bench to sit on. Her eyes were wide and she seemed to be having a hard time containing her excitement.
She waited for the last few people from class to clear out of the area before talking.
âDo you know where Josh is? He was supposed to text me earlier so I could go with him to this special place he found.â
I was about to answer, but she cut me off and kept on talking.
âHe told us all about this room where the ceiling is alive. None of us believed him at first until he showed us this trick. I don't know how he did it, but he had us come to his room and he did something with the ceiling. I was sure there was a projector but I couldn't find one. Do you know how he did it?â
This time she waited for me to answer. âI don't know how he did it and I am trying to find him too. The room he is talking about might be dangerousâŠI wouldn't go if I were you.â
âI have to see it! The others want to, too,â she said.
âWho else did he tell about it?â
Her phone buzzed. She quickly pulled it out of her backpack and looked disappointed. âIt isn't Josh, but I have to take this.â
She answered her phone as she walked towards the door to go outside. I wondered if she knew what happened to Amir. I felt like I should tell her.
When I stood up to go follow her, I heard a door opening behind me with an audible creak. I turned around and watched the door gently bounce off the rubber wall protector.
The hallway was silent and it didn't sound like anyone was in the room. I looked back outside and I didn't see NicoleâŠor anyone else. There should be people here for their next class. I looked up at the digital clock on the wall. It showed 1:00.
I pulled out my phone and texted Aimee. She was in class so I didn't want to call her. I heard noises coming from the classroom that I couldn't make sense of. Before I knew it, I was walking towards the open doorway. When I walked inside the room, I saw black fog coming down from the ceiling. The walls seemed to pulse with life and I felt my shoes sticking to the floor. I tried to lift my foot but it wouldn't budge. The fog was growing bigger and filling up the room. I felt it swirl around me and felt voices inside my head. They were trying to tell me something but I couldn't understand.
I looked at the floor again and saw eyes staring up at me. The whispers turned into pictures in my head and I knew what I had to do. I turned around and walked back into the hallway. Pushing my way through the doors out into the cold stormy day.
I walked down the steep hill leading to the baseball field and toward the woods. Thunder rumbled all around me and the strong winds pushed through the trees.
I still hadn't seen anyone, but I didn't care, I just had to get to the room. Voices filled the silence and encouraged me on my path.
Music tool my attention away from the room and I reached for my phone. Aimee was calling.
I stopped and answered. âHi.â
âHey, where are you? Your class was done hours ago and no one has seen you,â she said.
It was like the view in front of me glitched. Then blue sky appeared and I could hear cars driving by behind me.
âI'm by the rec center,â I said. âAre Greg and Emily with you?â
âNo, they just left to get some food. Are you coming over here?â
I looked towards the woods, which would take me to the room and was trying to think what I should do.
âJohnâŠJohn!â Aimee shouted.
âWhat? Why are you yelling?â I asked.
âYou wouldn't answer me but it sounded like you were mumbling something to yourself,â she said.
âThat's weird. What was I saying?â
âI have no idea. It was gibberish to meâŠso, are you coming over?â
âYesâŠyes, I'll be there shortly,â I said.
âGreat! Can't wait to see you.â
âSame here,â I ended the call and headed towards the dorms.
A sudden loud rumble of thunder made me jump. I looked up at the mostly clear sky above me and as far as I could see. I heard another loud one just before I ran into the dorms.
I went up to Aimee's room. She ran over and gave me a hug. âWe were worried about you.â
We sat down and started talking. At first we spoke about everything but what was currently going on. Finally, Aimee steered the conversation to what we really should have been talking about and asked, âWhat do you think happened to Amir?â
âI don't know,â I said. âBut he looked absolutely terrified.â
âI wonder what he saw,â she said.
My mind was spinning with everything happening and I didn't really want to think about it anymore. I leaned in and kissed Aimee. She wrapped her arms around me and kissed me back. We made out for a while before falling asleep in each other's arms.
I woke up to shadows dancing along the walls and dim light coming in through the window. Aimee was sitting at her desk. She was drawing something.
âHey, what are you doing?â I asked.
âI had this nightmare,â she said. âAnd I keep seeing these pictures in my mind when I close my eyes.â
I looked at her drawing. It was mostly water with thick black strands coming out of it in the middle. She pulled out another piece of paper and it was just this scribbled out human shape with long tendrils coming out of its head. There wasn't much detail to the drawing but it reminded me of the shadow I saw on the wall in my class.
âI saw something like that in my class,â I said. âThought I must have imagined it.â
We met Greg and Emily for breakfast in the dorm cafeteria and made our plan for going back to the tunnels. It was raining outside but there was no thunder or lightning. The way Emily took us last time was mostly outside and we didn't feel like getting drenched before going back to the room.
I was weirdly excited to be going back there and it looked like the others were as well.
âI want to see if I can go back in my room and get changed before we go,â I said.
We finished our food and took the elevator to my floor. When the doors opened, there was a loud boom of thunder and the lights flickered.
âThatâs great, maybe we won't be able to go,â said Emily.
âLet's just see how bad it is, maybe we can still just run quickly to the tunnel entrance. Or maybe we can find another way in from the basement of one of the other buildings,â said Aimee.
Lightning flashed outside the windows at the end of the hallway followed by an even louder roar of thunder.
The storm was getting worse and the building shook with each rumble of thunder. The lights flickered a few more times when we walked through my door and then they completely went out. I used my phone light to find my flashlight in the desk drawer while the others sat down.
When my light moved past Josh's desk, I noticed paper everywhere, including on the floor. Each piece had some writing on it.
âWhat the hell,â I said, picking up a piece of paper. There were unique looking symbols drawn all over this one. They were written in organized columns and were intricately detailed. Another piece had what looked like mathematical equations except there were no recognizable numbers or symbols.
âWhat is it?â asked Aimee.
âI don't know,â I said.
The others came over and started looking through the pages with me.
âThis one looks like cursive writing but doesn't make any sense,â said Emily.
I picked up another one that had random letters spaced out like words but none of them made any sense. I turned towards Emily. âThis reminds meâŠEmily, I forgot to ask about this weird text you sent me.â I opened up my messaging app and showed her what she had sent.
She stared unblinking at the message. Then she apparently tried to read it out loud. âPh'nglui mglw'nafh umr wgah'nagl fhtagn.â
Emily grabbed the paper I had been holding and started to read that one too. Of course, none of it was making any sense to us, but she was reading it aloud like it was normal English.
âNgai syha'hrii hupadgh ep shugg. Ngai shagg nafl shuggog ftaghu hrii stell'bsna throd y-s'uhn. R'lyeh hrii kadishtu, ya s'uhn ngai vulgtlagln.â Emily closed her eyes and dropped the paper. There was a rumbling above us that wasn't from the storm.
Aimee, Greg, and I looked up to see the night sky where the ceiling used to be, with the stars brightening the darkened room. A ripple flowed across the ceiling and we stared in amazement at it. It was beautiful just like the room in the tunnels. Time seemed to stand still as I lost myself in the neverending night sky.
I climbed on my bed and raised my arm, stopping my hand just before where the ceiling should be. Then I slowly reached up with one finger breaking the plane into the impossible sky above. There was surface tension that caused more ripples to spread across the ceiling and then my finger broke through.
I shouted in pain, immediately pulling my hand back down. It was freezing cold. My fingertip had no color to it and now felt numb.
âWhat happened?â Aimee said as her gaze slowly turned away from the ceiling and towards me.
âI don't know,â I said. âBut I think we should get out of here.â
Greg was still looking up and didn't move when we called his name. Aimee grabbed my pillow and put it over his face so he couldn't see the ceiling anymore. He looked over at us like he was waking from a dream.
âCome on Greg, let's get Emily and go somewhere else,â I said.
Emily was now sitting at Josh's desk flipping through the papers and whispering fast. It was more of the nonsense words she was reading before.
âEmilyâŠwe need to go,â said Greg.
She continued reading and didn't move. Then she stood up and raised her hands towards the ceiling. As she moved them, we could see the stars above moving just like what Josh had done the other night when I thought I was dreaming.
New stars appeared as the night sky circled around above us. Aimee and Greg appeared to be stuck looking at it again. Although I wanted to see what would happen, I think the pain in my finger must have allowed me to keep some focus on the real world around me.
We stood there watching for a long time as the sky continued to move. A brighter star appeared with planets spaced out around it. The biggest planet grew closer and eventually took up the whole ceiling. Then the middle of the ceiling began to droop down like a slow drip of syrup. I felt a low rumble inside my head and could hear some of the words Emily had been speaking. Pictures of a barren planet with a vast ocean appeared before me. Something big was coming out of the water. I started to focus back on the pain in my finger and the room around me.
I grabbed Aimee by the arm and pulled her towards the door. She didn't even seem to notice what I was doing. After I got her through the door, I ran back and did the same for Greg.
The part of the ceiling that was dripping down formed into a large tentacle and began reaching for me. Another one emerged and went towards Emily. I ran to her and pulled her to the ground with me. The rumble in my head grew louder, causing excruciating pain. I fought through it and crawled along the floor dragging Emily with me and staying just out of reach of the appendages. When we reached the door, one of them slid across Emily's leg. She screamed. I stood up and pulled her quickly out the door, slamming it shut behind me.
Aimee and Greg were just standing there in a daze. Emily was crying with her eyes wide, frantically looking around. The thunder outside was almost constant, but I didn't hear any when we were in the room. It must have masked the sound of Emily's scream as I didn't see anyone else in the hall.
I shook Aimee and Greg and called their names. It took a while but they both eventually returned to consciousness.
âEmily needs help,â I said.
I looked at her leg and it was much worse than the marks on Aimee's back. There was a thick patch where the skin was gone and blood was coming out. Greg kneeled down beside Emily, who didn't even seem to notice he was there while Aimee and I went to get help. We knocked on a few doors but no one answered. I ran to the bathrooms and grabbed some paper towels to use to stop the bleeding.
In a minor pause between thunder, I heard the tornado siren as I ran back to Emily. Greg took the paper towels from me and held them to her leg.
âI heard a siren,â I said. âEveryone must be in the storm shelter in the basement.â
âWhat do you think is happening in your room?â Aimee asked.
âI'm afraid to check,â I said. âBut at least nothing is trying to break down the door.â
Greg had grabbed Emily's head and was looking in her eyes. âEmily, it's me.â
He kept talking to her and trying to get her attention. Aimee and I grabbed Emily's arms and pulled her up. She still didn't seem to be aware of her surroundings but she could at least stand with minimal help from us.
âLet's take her to her room,â said Greg.
We led her down the stairs and into her room. Then we got her to lie down on her bed while Aimee ran to the bathroom for antibiotic ointment and bandages.
âI should go see what is happening in my room,â I said.â
âI'll go with you,â said Aimee. âGreg, we'll be back soon.â She grabbed her flashlight and we went out the door.

Abra and Lisa walked through the door, already glancing at corners and posters on the wall, noting down the potential spots for hidden cameras. Abra was wearing a slick suit and tie, as if he had just walked out the door from some generic office C-suite job. Lisa was in a much more suble outfit, a casual dress and wool pullover, large purse that seemed inconspicuous if you didnât know a pair of ice skates were hiding in it.
âYou go on, Iâm just going to sit down,â Lisa sighed, waving Abra forward as she moved towards a nearby couch. None of the people in line for the bank teller minded the two, other than the younger woman at the end of the line who seemed motivated to pay attention to anything but the fact that she was going to be standing for the next ten or twenty minutes.
Abra nodded, walking confidently up to one of the bankâs side rooms. The man inside looked up confused for a moment, hiding a grimace with a large smile. âWelcome to Milwa Key Bank, come on in!â
All it took was a suit and tie for the average service employee to bend over backwards to try and accommodate you, Abra thought. His average performance outfit received scorn and disgust outside of the context of his shows, but when he looked rich, all of the sudden he didnât even need an appointment.
âHello! My wife and I recently moved here, and weâd like to begin the process of rehoming our assets. Figured weâd start at least with a simple account or three to keep things centralized here in Milwa Key and give us access to, you know, the financial support staff here to get our bigger stuff moved over.â
Was this how rich people talked? He wasnât sure.
âWell certainly, weâre happy to have you here. What is your name? You need multiple accounts, for you and your wife?â
Abra smiled. âWell, my name is Ibrim Nassau, and my wifeâs name is Carol Bennd. Weâd like to open personal accounts for each of us, as well as a shared account for our personal corporation that we handle shared expenses through, C.B.I.N. Inc.â
âCertainly. Unfortunately, I canât help you with the shared account if you wish it to be connected to a companyâthat would require an appointment with a corporate representative who isnât in today. I also canât open an account for your wife without her here to consent and sign the paperwork.â
Abra nodded, turning back to the open door. âCarol, theyâll need you for when they make your account.â
Lisa looked up, halfway finished putting on her second ice skate. âJust do yours first, Iâm in the middle of something here!â
Abra turned back to the employee. âMine first, sheâll be in shortly. Women,â he joked, watching an air of unease settle on the employee between his comment and watching Lisa putting on ice skates. He didnât go for any sort of alarm system yet, though.
âUnderstood. Do you have a local ID to Milwaukee County yet, or are you still out-of-county or out-of-state?â
âActually, if youâd believe it, funnily enough, Iâm, out of time!â
The joke barely landed as the bank employee stood up in horror, staring out the door as he watched Lisa icing off the entry to the bank. Before he could even shout anything or react, Abra blew across his open palm in the manâs direction, watching him grow drowsy then fall to the floor asleep in a matter of seconds.
The alarms went off, but that was fine. The quiet part was over and pretending to be upright citizens was tiring, anyways.
>>>>>>>>>>>>>>
âIced over bank in Milwaukee,â Barry sighed, placing down his phone and looking up to Jay.
Jay, for his part, didnât seem quite as exhausted. âCap. Cold?â
âI sent a message to the prison, theyâll get back to me, but youâd think theyâd give us a heads up if he went missing already. Bit of travel to get to Wisconsin if he broke out today.â
Jay stood up, switching into his outfit. âHis stuff was always tech, possible someone figured out his nonsense and recreated it?â
Barry joined him, and the two ran out the door. âLet us know if the prison gets back to us, please,â Jay called over the communication device, and a confirmation from Nora Allen was their final comment from the compound before they arrived on the scene.
For a late May afternoon, with the temperature somewhere in the 90s, the vision of a fully frozen over bank building was almost an appealing sight. The local officer, on their arrival, jogged over.
âGood to see you, Flashes! Alarms started going off about an hour ago, but due to a technical hiccup in our system we didnât find out until about a half hour ago. We sent in our report on arrival. All entrances are iced over, weâve got a hostage negotiator on their way but we donât know how many folks are trapped inside.â
âDo you know who mightâve done this?â
âNope. No ice metahuman records in the region.â
âGotcha, thank you. You mind if we try to do something, or would you like us to wait to see what happens?â
âBy all means, Flash, yâall are the experts here. Policy is to let proven folks like you ahead, even after whatever happened during the winter. But Iâm sure you donât wanna hear policy ramblings.â
Barry took a deep breath. He didnât want to hear policy ramblings, especially after the Flashpoint time rewriting, for sure. âThanks, Chief.â
The two approached the iced over building, Jay running a finger across the ice. âCold,â which confirmed at least that it wasnât illusionary or a trick of the eye somewhat. What it also meant was that it could be shattered.
The two walked up to the front door, each placing their hands up to the ice. The vibration of their fingers and palm started small, testing the density and thickness of the ice first. Then the vibrations grew in intensity, melting the ice directly on it and nearby but also introducing faults throughout the structure. This would probably break the doors as well, but there were resources to pay for damages.
The heat melted more ice than the vibrations chipped any off, until about thirty seconds in. Some inflection point had passed, and large cracks showed up all throughout the ice, before a large chunk shattered in front of them. Not large enough to walk comfortably through, but enough to take advantage of the surprise to crawl through and get inside.
>>>>>>>>>>>>>>
Ugh. Whatever that crash upstairs was, it wasnât good tidings.
Lisa glanced at Abra, both grimacing as they tried, wordlessly, to figure out who was going to be the one heading upstairs. They were both in the bankâs vault, tossing bundles of cash through an open portal. They hadnât even bothered to secure or watch the hostages, feeling confident that most average folks would rather sit still than risk being frozen into a popsicle or magicâd into nonexistence.
âLet me go up and see what thatâs about, you keep getting money,â Abra offered, heading towards the staircase. Lisa was satisfied with that, a magician probably could defend himself better than her ice skates could. Abra jogged up the stairs, hearing the sounds of many sets of footprints. Hostages escaping or police force coming in. Probably both.
Instead of rushing in head first, Abra sprinkled a bit of dust on himself, making himself nearly invisible to the naked eye. He hugged the wall as he left the stairwell, eyes focused first on where the hostages were told to stay â all gone. The two Flashes in the main entryway were his next focus. He crushed a small marble in his pocket, sending a warning to Lisa downstairs â now was the time for her to leave.
Time to leave their mark. The two of them didnât seem to see or hear him as he moved out of their stairwell, pulling out a small cylinder of herbs and powder. He snapped it in two, throwing each half at the two Flashes. As soon as it came out of his invisible cloak, the two reacted fast enough to get out of the way, but it served its purpose.
The tubes began their effect, turning into a condensed area of choking gas. The Flashes were no longer in there, but it was enough for them to focus on as he moved onto his next step. He rubbed a bit of lotion on his wrists, using the magic to then float up in the air. Flashes were fast, but they were vertically challenged, so long as he stayed out of armâs reach in the air there wasnât much they could do.
The Flashes investigated the gas, taking a sample seemingly as the one with the metal hat charged off towards the vault. When he came back empty-handed, Abra felt confident that Lisa had dipped. He took out two small spheres, tossing them at nearby walls. They exploded on impact, spelling out their requested calling cardâCBINâin a material that would slowly shift colors while also being difficult to remove.
Abra wanted to mess with the Flashes more, but getting caught right now was going to be terrible. One of them was already doing a touch test on every inch of the building he could reach, so the longer he waited the more he risked one of them doing some superspeed nonsense to find him. This wasnât even supposed to be an actual interaction, he had been running a script for generic SWAT teams. It was time to go.
A small wand apparated in his hand, which he circled around himself. A quick teleport back to home base ensured his safety, though the rush of adrenaline still kept him on edge.
âWhat happened, youâre back quick,â Lisa asked, not even finished organizing the bags of money they had lifted.
âFlashes showed up,â Abra groaned, taking a deep breath. âNot convinced we were set up, they didnât seem to be expecting me.â
âGuess weâll see what the Curator says, if anything. Bad bait if they couldnât even figure out your gimmicks after all of this.â
>>>>>>>>>>>>>>
Jay sighed, shaking his head. âWhy ice, though? Really feels targeted in a way, who is going to freeze over a building and then just ignore the hostages other than Snart?â
Wally nodded. âJust not dismissing possibilities. Do we know for sure that was him? Do we know for sure that the magician or whatever the guy you faced was acting alone?â
âNobody else in the building. I suppose they couldâve escaped alongside the hostages, but surely the hostages wouldnât just let their captor slip out with them.â
Wallyâs eyes narrowed. âItâs happened before, no?â
âIn movies, maybe,â Jay chuckled. âWe shouldnât discount the possibility, I guess. Just seems so odd to me that the building freezes over, but then whatever we actually faced inside was like, gas canisters and graffiti bombs. Pretty sure thereâs more, given that we never actually saw where the things were coming from, but hard to pinpoint what or how.â
âCBIN, right?â
âNot even a shell company. Weâre trying to track down what it could be connected to, but anything associated with CBIN seems to be entirely disconnected. And no hostage remembers anything. Even the guy who was supposedly talking to him claims to have a blank spot on what the guy was saying or what he looked like.â
Elsewhere in the country, a man and a woman sat quietly. The man lifted each stack of bills telekinetically, magically detaching the dye that had stained each banknote. It wasnât a particularly quick process, but it was calming. At least Abra was able to do it stack by stack, which made the process faster.
The woman sat at a computer, typing out a letter. They were growing more suspicious of the Curator, given that The Flash had shown up. Their understanding was that the Flash Museum, which the Curator was supposedly a part of, was not on good talking terms with The Flash folk themselves.
And yet, two of them had shown up. That wasnât a smoking gun, The Flash could show up literally anywhere they wanted at presumably secondsâ notice, but for them to show up after this had been the Curatorâs request hit for authenticity? They werenât going to cut off contact with the Curator, not just yet, but they both were more suspicious than they had been. They hadnât even mentioned the Flash appearance yet to Anthony, who likely wouldâve reached poorly. He didnât remember hating The Flash during the time change nonsense but had been willing to learn. The two of them felt better holding on to the information for now, anything suspicious mightâve caused him to careen into theorist worries and get cold feet.
They sat quietly. The next step, no matter what the Curator responded with, was to find more allies. The Curator was a potential sponsor, which was fine, but they needed more allies that could help in a fight. Lisa remembered more than just the three of themâfour of them, but the kid didnât want to joinâduring their time experience but finding them had been more difficult.

2024.06.01 19:32 wagonwheelrockme [M4F] Welcome to the Dollhouse!
Nicholas Mattison bumped his shoulder as he stretched his arms over his head, pulled back the soft pink curtain that draped over his bed like a canopy, and rubbed the sleep out of his green eyes as his bare feet met the plush carpeting of his bedroom.
If Nicholas was any more alert than his still-sleepy, bedheaded current self, he might have astutely recognized that the bed was a little too small for his lanky frame, or recalled that the bed in his freshman dorm definitely didn't have lacy, rose-hued canopy curtains.
The unlikely array of unfamiliar accoutrements in Nicholas' room only properly crystallized once he squinted and pushed his glasses up the bridge of his nose, glancing around a space that resolutely wasn't his. Gone were the haphazard textbooks splayed across his desk, the guitar that had been propped against the mirror hanging on his closet door, and the laundry basket he promised himself he'd get to on Saturday morning, first thing.
Instead, Nicholas' field of view was met with walls painted a garish shade of bubblegum pink, a neat row of posters advertising pop stars he'd never heard of before, and an ornate door with a sign that read "Nick's Room" in bubble-letter script.
With a surge of panic, he pulled open the closet door, biting his lower lip with a brow-furrowing frown when he saw a walk-in selection of elegant ball gowns and starchy-frilled ballerina tutus.
Where WAS he?
**
Hello! Thanks for reading a silly prompt. I wanted to leave it mysterious so we can fill in some blanks together, but the gist of the prompt is this: Our protagonist discovers that, one way or another, he's found himself living in (read: trapped) a dollhouse. Like the post's title says, a daring escape ensues!
And that brings us to your character: Who is she? A fellow college student who found herself plucked from her normal life and brought to the dollhouse? Is she a brought-to-life doll who already lives there? Is she the supervillainess/mad scientist/crazy gal who owns the dollhouse and is gleeful to have a new plaything in Nicholas? It's your call!
If you're interested, please send a message my way! I ask that you be at least 20 as well, with a knack for descriptive, detailed posts that are at least 200 words or so long. (I break Discord's character limit like it's my job, so there's no shame there!) Let me know what you think of the idea, any concepts you might have, and who you may write as a character opposite Nicholas. See you in the dollhouse soon!

2024.06.01 18:37 Then_Bodybuilder9038 ESB Vader hilt wires and other details
What's the correct order of the pairs of wires on the hilt? In most pictures I have found online have the white wires towards the center (maroon-white, white-blue), but some pictures have the blue and white the other way around, blue towards the middle (maroon-white, blue-white)... Which one is correct?
Also, some hilts have the oval shield below the wires and others don't. I'm not necessarily going for "the most screen accurate" look. I definitely don't want a plaque saying "MPP MICROFLASH" on the hilt, but was thinking if I should leave the plaque off or have the plaque with some other text. I've seen some with "DARTH VADER" in small sans-serif font and some with just "VADER" but written in aurebash lettering. I think to fit in the Star Wars universe, the lettering should be in aurebash, or even Sith runes. Nowhere in the films has there ever been any "normal latin alphabet", so if there's any text, I feel it should be in "in-universe" lettering. Or the plaque could be just blank matt black. Or no plaque at all. Opinions on this?

2024.06.01 17:25 bertikal10 Listeners are not updating changes in real-time.
Hi there,
I am building an app similar to Instagram using SwiftUI and Firebase. My goal is to update posts, replies, and likes in real-time. However, the UI does not update immediately when a user performs actions such as liking a post or adding a reply. The updates only appear after navigating to another view and then returning to the original view.
Issue:
The real-time listeners do not seem to work as expected. The updates (likes, replies) are not reflected immediately on the dashboard view.
**1. `DashBoardView` - Displaying Posts:**
import SwiftUI import FirebaseStorage struct DashBoardView: View { var userSession: UserSession private var activeAlert: NewPostAlertState? var body: some View { GeometryReader { geometry in ScrollView { VStack(spacing: 16) { Text(NSLocalizedString("Sneaker Feed", comment: "")) .font(.largeTitle) .fontWeight(.bold) .padding(.top) .shadow(color: .gray, radius: 2, x: 0, y: 2) ForEach(userSession.sneakerPosts) { post in VStack(alignment: .leading) { NavigationLink(destination: ImageDetailView(post: .constant(post)).environmentObject(userSession)) { AsyncImage(url: URL(string: post.imageUrl)) { phase in switch phase { case .empty: ProgressView() case .success(let image): image.resizable().aspectRatio(contentMode: .fit).cornerRadius(8) case .failure(_): Image(systemName: "photo") .resizable() .aspectRatio(contentMode: .fit) .cornerRadius(8) default: EmptyView() } } } .aspectRatio(contentMode: .fit) .cornerRadius(8) VStack(alignment: .leading, spacing: 5) { Text(post.sneakerModel) .font(.headline) .foregroundColor(.primary) Text("\(NSLocalizedString("Uploaded by", comment: "")) \(post.nickname)") .font(.subheadline) .foregroundColor(.secondary) Text(post.description) .font(.body) .foregroundColor(.primary) .padding(.top, 2) Text(post.hashtags.joined(separator: " ")) .font(.caption) .foregroundColor(.blue) HStack { Text(String(format: NSLocalizedString("Date: %@", comment: ""), dateFormatter.string(from: post.uploadDate))) .font(.caption) .foregroundColor(.secondary) Button(action: { userSession.toggleLike(for: post) { success in if !success { // Handle error } } }) { Image(systemName: post.likes.contains(userSession.user?.nickname ?? "") ? "heart.fill" : "heart") .resizable() .frame(width: 24, height: 24) .foregroundColor(.red) } Text("\(post.likes.count) \(NSLocalizedString("likes", comment: ""))") .font(.headline) Spacer() Button(action: { // Focus on the reply field }) { Image(systemName: "bubble.left") .resizable() .frame(width: 24, height: 24) .foregroundColor(.blue) } Text("\(post.replies.count) \(NSLocalizedString("replies", comment: ""))") .font(.headline) } .padding(.top, 4) ReplyView(post: .constant(post)) .environmentObject(userSession) } .padding(.leading) } .padding(.vertical) .background(LinearGradient(gradient: Gradient(colors: [Color.white, Color.brown.opacity(0.1)]), startPoint: .topLeading, endPoint: .bottomTrailing)) .cornerRadius(12) .shadow(radius: 5) .frame(width: geometry.size.width * 0.9) .padding(.horizontal) .contextMenu { Button(action: { activeAlert = .confirmation({ deletePost(post) }) }) { Label(NSLocalizedString("Delete", comment: ""), systemImage: "trash") } } } } .padding() } .background(LinearGradient(gradient: Gradient(colors: [Color.brown.opacity(0.1), Color.white]), startPoint: .top, endPoint: .bottom).edgesIgnoringSafeArea(.all)) .onAppear(perform: loadPosts) .alert(item: $activeAlert) { alertState in alertState.alert } } } private func loadPosts() { userSession.loadDashboardPosts { posts in // Posts are being updated in real-time } } private func deletePost(_ post: SneakerPost) { userSession.deletePost(post) { success in if success { // No need to manually remove, listener will handle it } else { self.activeAlert = .error(NSLocalizedString("Failed to delete the post.", comment: "")) } } } }
**2. `ReplyView` - Adding Replies:**
struct ReplyView: View { var post: SneakerPost var userSession: UserSession private var replyText: String = "" private var isReplying: Bool = false var body: some View { VStack(alignment: .leading, spacing: 10) { ForEach(post.replies, id: \.id) { reply in HStack { Text(reply.text) .font(.caption) .foregroundColor(.gray) Spacer() Text(reply.date, formatter: dateFormatter) .font(.caption) .foregroundColor(.gray) } } if isReplying { HStack { TextField(NSLocalizedString("Enter your reply...", comment: ""), text: $replyText) .textFieldStyle(RoundedBorderTextFieldStyle()) .frame(height: 28) Button(action: addReply) { Image(systemName: "paperplane") .foregroundColor(.blue) } .buttonStyle(BorderlessButtonStyle()) Button(action: { withAnimation { isReplying = false replyText = "" } }) { Image(systemName: "xmark.circle.fill") .foregroundColor(.red) } .buttonStyle(BorderlessButtonStyle()) } .padding(.horizontal) .transition(.move(edge: .trailing)) } Button(action: { withAnimation { isReplying.toggle() } }) { if !isReplying { Label(NSLocalizedString("Reply", comment: ""), systemImage: "arrow.turn.up.left") .labelStyle(IconOnlyLabelStyle()) .foregroundColor(.blue) } } .buttonStyle(PlainButtonStyle()) } } private func addReply() { guard !replyText.trimmingCharacters(in: .whitespacesAndNewlines).isEmpty else { return } userSession.addReply(to: post, replyText: replyText) { success in if success { DispatchQueue.main.async { post.replies.append(SneakerPost.Reply(id: UUID().uuidString, nickname: userSession.user!.nickname, text: replyText, date: Date())) replyText = "" isReplying = false } } else { // Handle error } } } }
**3. `UserSession` - Managing Firebase Interactions:**
import Foundation import SwiftUI import FirebaseFirestore import FirebaseFirestoreSwift import FirebaseAuth import FirebaseStorage class UserSession: ObservableObject { var user: User? var userId: String? var profileCompleted: Bool = false var profilePictureURL: String? var isLoading = false var error: String? var interactions: [Interaction] = [] var sneakerPosts: [SneakerPost] = [] var profilePosts: [SneakerPost] = [] private var listener: ListenerRegistration? // Authentication and initial user profile loading func authenticateUser(completion: (Bool) -> Void) { guard let userId = Auth.auth().currentUser?.uid else { print("Error: User UID not available after authentication") completion(false) return } self.userId = userId loadUserProfile(userId: userId, completion: completion) } // Centralized method for loading user profile func loadUserProfile(userId: String, completion: (Bool) -> Void) { let userDocument = Firestore.firestore().collection("users").document(userId) userDocument.getDocument { [weak self] document, error in guard let self = self else { return } if let error = error { print("Error loading profile: \(error.localizedDescription)") completion(false) return } guard let document = document, document.exists, let data = document.data() else { print("Error: Document not found") completion(false) return } DispatchQueue.main.async { self.user = User(dictionary: data) self.userId = userId self.profileCompleted = self.isProfileComplete(data: data) self.profilePictureURL = data["profilePictureURL"] as? String self.loadInteractions() self.loadProfilePosts { _ in self.loadDashboardPosts { _ in } } completion(true) } } } private func isProfileComplete(data: [String: Any]) -> Bool { let requiredFields = ["username", "bio"] return requiredFields.allSatisfy { data[$0] != nil && !(data[$0] as? String ?? "").isEmpty } } func loadDashboardPosts(completion: ([SneakerPost]) -> Void) { let postsCollection = Firestore.firestore().collection("SneakerPosts") // Remove any existing listener listener?.remove() // Set up a real-time listener listener = postsCollection.addSnapshotListener { [weak self] querySnapshot, error in guard let self = self else { return } if let error = error { print("Error loading dashboard posts: \(error.localizedDescription)") completion([]) return } guard let documents = querySnapshot?.documents else { print("No dashboard posts found") completion([]) return } let posts = documents.compactMap { doc -> SneakerPost? in return try? doc.data(as: SneakerPost.self) } DispatchQueue.main.async { self.sneakerPosts = posts self.objectWillChange.send() } completion(posts) } } func toggleLike(for post: SneakerPost, completion: (Bool) -> Void) { guard let nickname = self.user?.nickname, let postId = else { completion(false) return } let postRef = Firestore.firestore().collection("SneakerPosts").document(postId) Firestore.firestore().runTransaction({ (transaction, errorPointer) -> Any? in let postDocument: DocumentSnapshot do { try postDocument = transaction.getDocument(postRef) } catch let error as NSError { print("Error fetching post: \(error.localizedDescription)") completion(false) return nil } guard let oldLikes = postDocument.data()?["likes"] as? [String] else { completion(false) return nil } var newLikes = oldLikes if let index = newLikes.firstIndex(of: nickname) { newLikes.remove(at: index) } else { newLikes.append(nickname) } transaction.updateData(["likes": newLikes], forDocument: postRef) return newLikes }) { [weak self] (newLikes, error) in if let error = error { print("Transaction failed: \(error.localizedDescription)") completion(false) } else if let newLikes = newLikes as? [String] { DispatchQueue.main.async { if let index = self?.sneakerPosts.firstIndex(where: { $0.id == post.id }) { self?.sneakerPosts[index].likes = newLikes self?.objectWillChange.send() } completion(true) } } } } func addReply(to post: SneakerPost, replyText: String, completion: (Bool) -> Void) { guard let user = self.user, let postId = else { completion(false) return } let reply = SneakerPost.Reply(id: UUID().uuidString, nickname: user.nickname, text: replyText, date: Date()) let postRef = Firestore.firestore().collection("SneakerPosts").document(postId) Firestore.firestore().runTransaction({ (transaction, errorPointer) -> Any? in let postDocument: DocumentSnapshot do { try postDocument = transaction.getDocument(postRef) } catch let error as NSError { print("Error fetching post: \(error.localizedDescription)") completion(false) return nil } var replies = postDocument.data()?["replies"] as? [[String: Any]] ?? [] replies.append(reply.dictionary) transaction.updateData(["replies": replies], forDocument: postRef) return nil }) { [weak self] (_, error) in if let error = error { print("Transaction failed: \(error.localizedDescription)") completion(false) } else { DispatchQueue.main.async { if let index = self?.sneakerPosts.firstIndex(where: { $0.id == post.id }) { self?.sneakerPosts[index].replies.append(reply) } if let index = self?.profilePosts.firstIndex(where: { $0.id == post.id }) { self?.profilePosts[index].replies.append(reply) } self?.objectWillChange.send() completion(true) } } } } }post.idpost.id
Is there something wrong with the way I'm setting up the Firestore snapshot listener in `UserSession`?
Example code for setting up the listener:
func loadDashboardPosts(completion: u/escaping ([SneakerPost]) -> Void) { let postsCollection = Firestore.firestore().collection("SneakerPosts") // Remove any existing listener listener?.remove() // Set up a real-time listener listener = postsCollection.addSnapshotListener { [weak self] querySnapshot, error in guard let self = self else { return } if let error = error { print("Error al cargar posts del dashboard: \(error.localizedDescription)") completion([]) return } guard let documents = querySnapshot?.documents else { print("No se encontraron posts del dashboard") completion([]) return } let posts = documents.compactMap { doc -> SneakerPost? in return try? doc.data(as: SneakerPost.self) } DispatchQueue.main.async { self.sneakerPosts = posts self.objectWillChange.send() } completion(posts) } } Why aren't the likes and replies updating in real-time without navigating away and back to the view?
Example code for handling likes:
func toggleLike(for post: SneakerPost, completion: u/escaping (Bool) -> Void) { guard let nickname = self.user?.nickname, let postId = post.id else { completion(false) return } let postRef = Firestore.firestore().collection("SneakerPosts").document(postId) Firestore.firestore().runTransaction({ (transaction, errorPointer) -> Any? in let postDocument: DocumentSnapshot do { try postDocument = transaction.getDocument(postRef) } catch let error as NSError { print("Error fetching post: \(error.localizedDescription)") completion(false) return nil } guard let oldLikes = postDocument.data()?["likes"] as? [String] else { completion(false) return nil } var newLikes = oldLikes if let index = newLikes.firstIndex(of: nickname) { newLikes.remove(at: index) } else { newLikes.append(nickname) } transaction.updateData(["likes": newLikes], forDocument: postRef) return newLikes }) { [weak self] (newLikes, error) in if let error = error { print("Transaction failed: \(error.localizedDescription)") completion(false) } else if let newLikes = newLikes as? [String] { DispatchQueue.main.async { if let index = self?.sneakerPosts.firstIndex(where: { $0.id == post.id }) { self?.sneakerPosts[index].likes = newLikes self?.objectWillChange.send() } completion(true) } } } }
Thanks in advance.

2024.06.01 14:05 saltymehrin Issues with laptop
Hello, this is going to be a bit long. Before I start, my laptop is hp, core i5, windows 11.
Yesterday, I was working on a file on photoshop, and needed a font. So I downloaded a font from dafont (Iâll edit in the name when my laptop gets good) first nothing happened. After 10 mins, the snip tool automatically came up. Even thought I tried to close it, it didnât close properly. So I went on the settings and somehow turned off from accessibility. Then after a while my mouse started to flicker, my windows lagged, photoshop wouldnât close, nothing would move even if it did it would after like a couple mins. So I restarted, and same thing happened. After that I had some work so I shut it down and left for later. Later at night, I ran a scan from avast, it didnât show any malware or virus. Then I installed bit defender, it ran a full scan, yet no malware or virus. After a while it went back to normal. Today morning, I again opened my laptop, it ran smoothly I thought it was a bug. Then again an hour ago, I turned it on, it started doing the thing again flickering, lagging. Then again it went back to normal, then again it started. Now I did, a disk clean up, c file, temp folder, %temp% folder, now my laptops running a Microsoft Windows malicious software removal toolâs full scan. Itâs taking a while but hopefully, it can catch something. Any suggestions?
Edit 1 : Microsoft Windows malicious software showed no issues, I am loosing my mind!!

2024.06.01 13:58 Horror-Outside7972 Maison Alhambra - The Serpent đ
Background: Short version: The serpent was made after the Gucci - The voice of the snake. Long version: As written on their own site, Gucci Fragrances introduced Luxury Collection: The Alchemistâs Garden, featuring unisex fragrances customizable by layering various scents for a unique, long-lasting aroma. The Voice of the Snake Eau de Parfum as a part of collection, was inspired by a snake's movement through a forest, blends oud with patchouli and saffron, resulting in a provocative and hypnotizing scent. The bottles were crafted to evoke the allure of vintage apothecary containers, with opulent gold lettering and enigmatic symbols, turning them into must-have treasures for mystery buffs. Maison Alhambra, true to form, skipped the brainstorming session and just hit Ctrl + c, Ctrl + v on the bottle design. I guess originality took a vacation there! đ€·ââïž Here is the fun part, Alberto Morillas described the collection as creating mesmerizing individual statements, allowing personalization by combining oils, floral waters, and eau de parfum. -roughly translates to "Not really meant to wear individually, better result can be obtained when mixed with others from the collection"- Naturally, Maison Alhambra tossed that description straight into the recycling bin and decided to forge ahead with the cloning process. I mean, why not, right? Orginal Maker: Alberto Morillas How is the scent exactly? Short version: Imagine a fragrance so wild, it's like a rollercoaster for your nose, not in a good way. It's like a band-aid and Dettol had a collision course, leaving the nose in disbelief. And just when you think it can't get worse, it dries down to something ashy. đ„Č Not a crowd pleasing and pretty wild at that. Long version: well, as soon as you spray it, it blasts the spicy, dry, slightly sweet saffron. 10 mins in, it pulls herbal patchouli into the picture. Please note that patchouli is not chocolatey sweet in here, it's more earthy and medicinal. As patchouli takes center stage, overshadowing the saffron which now plays a game of peek-a-boo in the background, both stars are enveloped in a balsamic oud embrace. The oud in here is not a typical white oud, having no sweet tone whatsoever. Almost sterile clean, setting the stage for patchouli and saffron. As the scent progresses towards the dry down, it turns more ashy, medicinal and puts the woody, spicy and little warm aspects upfront. So, It's like wearing the scent of a tough guy who's also a closet germaphobe (Hey! Happy pride month btw đđ«Ł). Masculine, antiseptic, and also contradictory, like a tough guy in a hazmat suit! When, where and who can wear it? This perfume is strictly for cold weather, evening time, mostly for casual wear (or just funerals?! ...maybe). It's like, yeah, it's for everyone, but if I had to pick, I'd vote for the guys to sport that scent rather than the gals. It's like scent democracy, with a twist! Performance, longevity, sillage?! It projects when sprayed and stays like that for next half hour, gets close to 2 ft mild bubble and kinda becomes skin scent after 5-6hrs. How close is it to the original? Only God knows. PS - First image was downloaded from the internet for the reference. submitted by Horror-Outside7972 to fragranceclones [link] [comments]
