Over the past few weeks, I've been using the Wayne Water Systems WSB1275 battery in my basement sump pump. This maintenance-free, sealed lead-acid battery pack has made my life easier and more worry-free, thanks to its 75Ah capacity and 12V voltage. With its handles making it easy to move around, I am now free from the hassle of constantly monitoring and maintaining the battery levels.
One of the most impressive features of this battery is the consistent power supply it provides, ensuring that my backup sump pump remains ready to kick in at a moment's notice. This reliable performance has given me peace of mind, especially during the recent storms that have brought about power outages in my area. The battery also charges quickly, so I'm always prepared for any situation.
However, there is one drawback I've encountered. While the battery works reliably, the instructions provided for installation are quite complicated and could have been simplified. Additionally, I did notice that the battery's capacity can sometimes be slightly less than advertised, which might require an adjustment in your expectations.
In summary, the Wayne Water Systems WSB1275 battery offers a top-quality, reliable solution for my basement sump pump needs. With its impressive charging capabilities and consistent power supply, I highly recommend this product for anyone looking for a reliable and easy-to-use battery pack for their sump pump system.

I recently tried the Thunderbolt Magnum 12V 160 CCA AGM Battery, and I must say, it has some impressive features. What stood out to me is the rugged design and the versatile top-mounted terminals that make it a suitable choice for various generators, including those made by Predator.
While using this battery, I found it to be quite efficient in providing constant voltage input, which is crucial for an electric start generator. It successfully powered both my generator and an ATV without any issues. The battery's compact size made it convenient to install and mount on the generator.
However, one downside I encountered was the reversed polarity terminals. It took me a bit of time to figure out the issue during installation. Additionally, some customers mentioned facing difficulty in finding replacements for this battery, as most other units do not fit the same specifications.
Overall, the Thunderbolt Magnum 12V 160 CCA AGM Battery has proven to be a reliable and functional option for powering electric start generators. But be aware of the possible reversed polarity terminals and the difficulty in finding compatible replacements.

Imagine a situation where you're stuck on the side of the road, and your car isn't starting. You pull out a small device, no bigger than a pencil box, and within minutes, your car roars to life. That's the magic of a portable jump starter.
The Mighty Max Battery 12V 22Ah is a versatile device that serves as a replacement for your Die Hard Portable Jump Starter. It's a maintenance-free 12V 22AH Sealed Lead Acid battery, known for its spill-proof nature and high discharge rate. This battery is designed to handle a wide range of temperatures, making it suitable for use in both high and low temperatures.
One of the most impressive things about this battery is its ability to resist shocks and vibration. It can be mounted in any position, making it a convenient option for those who are always on the move. And let's not forget the bonus of having a long service life and the ability to recover from deep discharge situations, which is particularly useful in emergency situations.
Now, let's talk about my personal experience with the Mighty Max Battery. I've used it to jump-start my car during a surprise power outage, and it worked like a charm. It's compact, which made it easy to store in my glove compartment, and it fits perfectly into the port on my Die Hard jump starter.
However, there were a few drawbacks. The product doesn't come with a wire harness or mounting accessories, which means you'll have to purchase those separately if you don't already have them. Additionally, the battery's weight might be a concern for some, but for me, it wasn't a deal-breaker.
Overall, the Mighty Max Battery 12V 22Ah is a powerful and reliable option for anyone in need of a portable jump starter. I've been using the Schumacher DSR ProSeries Jump Starter in my daily life for a few months now, and I must say it's been quite the reliable companion. When I needed to jumpstart my car the other day, it took me just a few minutes to get everything connected and running smoothly. The 525 cranking amps and 350 cold cranking amps really make a difference in those crucial moments.
One thing that really stood out to me was the easy-to-read digital display and ON/OFF switch. They made it easy for me to keep track of the battery life and to ensure I wasn't draining it unnecessarily. However, I did notice that the 60-inch cable length wasn't quite long enough to reach my car when it was parked in the driveway, so I had to make a few adjustments.

In conclusion, I highly recommend the Schumacher DSR ProSeries Jump Starter. It has proven to be an invaluable addition to my daily life, and I know I can always count on it when I need to get my car back up and running.

Their smaller size and reduced weight make them an attractive choice for those who are particular about the battery size.
However, there are a few drawbacks that I noticed too. While the battery is designed to prevent sulfation during deep discharge, one has to be careful with frequent deep discharges, as it could reduce the battery's life span. Also, the slightly higher voltage during recharge can strain some battery connections.
Overall, I am quite impressed with this battery's performance. It has proven to be reliable, easy to use, and quite efficient, even with the occasional drawbacks.

🔗Durable DSLR Camera Case with Neoprene Exterior

https://preview.redd.it/e20685bss34d1.jpg?width=720&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=a3477659f87ec3b0208121acf6263407df1dc1d9
I recently purchased the USA Gear QTL Portable DSLR Camera Case Bag, Southwest and I must say, it's been a game-changer for me. I love the vibrant southwest pattern that not only looks great but also doesn't give away the fact that there's an expensive camera inside my bag. The dimensions are perfect at 7.25 inches x 6 inches x 5.5 inches, making it a great option when I'm on the go.
One of the standout features of this case is its durable neoprene exterior. It's rugged and weather-resistant, ensuring my camera stays safe and secure no matter the conditions. The cover zippers and metal hardware provide extra protection, while the reinforced belt loop offers stability and flexibility in how I carry it.
The adjustable shoulder strap and padded hand strap make it comfortable and easy to use, whether I'm carrying it on my shoulder or hand. However, I find that the bag can feel a bit weighty when I'm carrying a DSLR with a lens attached, making it better suited for shorter outings.
The USA Gear QTL Camera Case Bag has exceeded my expectations in terms of visual appeal, sturdiness, design comfort, size, and weight. The southwest pattern adds a touch of style, while the reinforced metal buckles ensure durability and longevity. The scratch-resistant interior and padded dividers provide extra protection for my camera and lenses. Overall, this case is a perfect blend of style and functionality.
While I appreciate the beautiful design and comfortable carrying options, I wish the interior had a bit more space to accommodate additional camera accessories. Additionally, the rain cover can be challenging to use at first, but once you're familiar with it, it gets easier. Despite these minor drawbacks, I believe the USA Gear QTL Portable DSLR Camera Case Bag, Southwest is a fantastic option for photographers looking for a stylish and durable camera case.

🔗Northwest Electronics Waterproof and Impact-Resistant Camera Case

https://preview.redd.it/5p7wmbpss34d1.jpg?width=720&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=a31ffc07bd06b23805eb6da07f86d02d3bbda72a
I've recently been using the "Northwest Electronics Shielded Case" for all my outdoor adventures, and it's been a game-changer. The O-ring waterproof seal is a lifesaver when I'm near water or in humid climates, giving me peace of mind knowing my gear is safe. It fits my camera and lens perfectly, leaving no room for damage.
The automatic pressure equalization purge has been especially useful, eliminating the need for manual adjustments and ensuring everything stays snug and secure. The high impact polycarbonate hard case has saved my camera from a few accidents already, and its robust cell core with solid walls provide extra support.
Despite its durability, the case is lightweight and fits comfortably in my bag. The throw-down latches ensure everything stays in place, even during the most trying of times. Overall, I am incredibly impressed with the performance and reliability of this case.
However, one downside is that the customizable foam inserts can be a little cumbersome at first, but taking some time to measure and pre-cut everything made it much easier. All in all, I would highly recommend the Northwest Electronics Shielded Case for any adventurer looking to keep their gear safe without compromising on quality.

🔗Insta360 Gear Hard Travel Case

https://preview.redd.it/5iphym0ts34d1.jpg?width=720&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=c2e129a86fa37b208adcce54ba2893c8d9e602a6
I've been using the Hard Carrying Case for Insta360 One X/X2 in my action photography adventures, and let me tell you, it's been a game-changer. The first thing that caught my eye was its button closure - it's so simple yet effective at keeping my precious camera safe and secure.
One of the features I absolutely love about this case is its durability. Made with high-quality PU material, it not only gives off a stylish vibe but also provides water resistance and protection against dampness. I've been traveling with this case for many photography trips now, and my camera is always in tip-top shape thanks to the hard PU surface that keeps scratches and dings at bay.
The size of this carrying case is perfect for those who want to travel light. I can easily fit my Insta360 One X/X2 along with its frame housing inside, making it easy to toss in my backpack or carry-on luggage. Not to mention, the convex lens part design provides extra safety to my camera lens from any potential damage like scratches, dust, or scrapes.
Another great thing about this case is its versatility. Designed specifically for the Insta360 One X/X2, it can also be connected with a selfie stick or used with a tripod for better results.
There's just one downside to this case - it might be a bit too mini for some people's taste. However, I personally find the compact design extremely convenient and portable, especially when I'm on the go.
In summary, the Hard Carrying Case for Insta360 One X/X2 is an awesome companion for all my action photography needs. Its durable and stylish build, combined with its versatile design and size, make it an absolute must-have for anyone who wants to keep their camera safe and sound while exploring the world of action photography.

🔗Fully Enclosed Waterproof Case for Rylo 360

https://preview.redd.it/o943bapts34d1.jpg?width=720&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=46ff74d106463eb67e1ddb5ac61b78906d70f564
The Rylo Adventure Case is the ultimate accessory for your 360 video camera, offering full protection during all of your outdoor adventures. I've personally used this case for surfing and snowboarding, and it's kept my camera safe from scratches and dings. The case is waterproof up to 3 meters (10 feet), making it perfect for underwater shots. Included are a mounting buckle and two adhesive mounts (one flat, one curved) for securing the camera to any surface - helmets, surfboards, windows, you name it.
However, the lens protector is made from a material that can be easily scratched, which is a con for those looking for a flawless protectant. Also, the sound quality is slightly muffled when using the case, which might affect your overall experience with the camera.
Overall, the Rylo Adventure Case is a solid investment for anyone who wants to take their 360 video camera to the extremes without worrying about damaging it. The ability to use it underwater and the secure mounting options make it a must-have for any adventurer.

🔗Durable Aluminum Alloy Protective Case for GoPro HERO8 Black

https://preview.redd.it/51s0vreus34d1.jpg?width=720&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=36884215f68c364f1ceac2c63c5245424efa9228
I recently purchased the PULUZ Aluminum Alloy Protective Case specifically designed for my GoPro HERO8 Black, and I must say, it has been a game-changer for my photography adventures. The sturdy aluminum alloy case not only provides an added layer of protection to my camera but also looks incredibly sleek and professional.
One aspect I absolutely love about this case is its ability to help dissipate heat effectively. I often use my GoPro for capturing high-definition videos in various settings, and I've noticed that the camera tends to heat up quite a bit. Thanks to the efficient heat dissipation properties of the PULUZ case, however, I no longer have to worry about overheating or damaging my camera during extended shoots.
Another notable feature of this case is its compatibility with external accessories such as UV lenses and polarizing lenses. With a 52mm thread size, I can easily attach these essential photo tools to enhance the overall quality of my shots. Furthermore, the built-in 1/4-inch screw hole ensures that the case is compatible with any standard tripod, giving me more flexibility when setting up shoots.
However, there is one small issue I've encountered with the PULUZ case – it does add a bit of weight to my setup. As someone who values portability, I sometimes find myself wishing that the case were a tad lighter so that I could carry it around more comfortably. Regardless, the benefits of this protective case far outweigh the minimal inconvenience caused by its weight.
In conclusion, the PULUZ Aluminum Alloy Protective Case has significantly enhanced my GoPro HERO8 Black experience. Its durable construction, efficient heat dissipation, and compatibility with a variety of accessories make it an indispensable tool for budding photographers and adventure enthusiasts alike. While it may add a bit of weight to your camera setup, the added protection and convenience more than make up for it.

🔗TSA-Approved Waterproof Action Camera Case

https://preview.redd.it/ekr6ywzus34d1.jpg?width=720&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=2a34f8e5d164759d609dfbc86a99471bb5d2ea7b
I recently had the chance to test out the Eylar Protective Hard Camera Case, and I must say, it has been a game-changer in my life. As an avid action camera user, I understand the importance of having a reliable case that not only keeps my camera safe but also makes it easy to access. This Eylar case has exceeded my expectations on both fronts.
Firstly, the size is perfect for my camera needs, with dimensions of 13.37 inches x 11.62 inches x 6 inches on the outside and a slightly smaller inner space of 11.81 inches x 8.87 inches x 5.18 inches. The rubber gasket lining ensures that my camera remains waterproof and dustproof, offering up to 1 meter of submergence protection. The customizable foam padding is a great feature, as it allows me to create a snug fit for my camera and its accessories. The case includes two customizable pull and pluck cubes, one bottom pad layer, and one top egg crate layer, providing ample protection against shocks and impacts.
Another highlight of this case is its TSA approval, which means I can take my camera with me on flights without worrying about it getting damaged or stolen. The lockable latches and fittings ensure that the case remains secure throughout my travels. The case also has a stackable design, making it easy to store and transport multiple camera cases together.
However, one downside of this case is that it does not explicitly mention the materials it is made of. It would be helpful to know whether the case is resistant to cracking or damage from the sun. Additionally, while it does meet TSA requirements, the lack of specific details about the case's warranty might concern some potential buyers.
In conclusion, the Eylar Protective Hard Camera Case has been a valuable addition to my camera equipment. Its ability to keep my camera safe from water, dust, and shocks, along with its TSA approval and customizable foam padding, make it stand out among other options on the market. Although it could benefit from more detailed information about its materials and warranty, its overall performance and usability make it a worthwhile investment for action camera enthusiasts like myself.

🔗Soft Silicone Protective Case for GoPro Hero 9 Black

https://preview.redd.it/72acphivs34d1.jpg?width=720&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=2340c0ba5db10676d26fd6ad26c5d34905860e9a
As an avid adventurer and photography enthusiast, I've always been on the lookout for the best accessories to protect and enhance the performance of my GoPro Hero 9 Black camera. When I came across the TELESIN Action Camera Protective Case Cover, I knew I had to give it a try, and it didn't disappoint!
Firstly, the customized shape of the case ensures it fits my GoPro like a glove, with no gaps, providing maximum protection from scratches and dust. The premium soft silicone material not only gives the case a delicate appearance, but it also feels incredibly comfortable and smooth to touch. I love how it safeguards my camera's delicate lens, preserving its brand-new condition.
One feature I truly appreciated is the easily detached lanyard. Not only does it allow me to either hang the camera around my neck for easy accessibility, but I can also wrap it around my wrist for secure and comfortable handling during intense action shots.
However, it's important to note that this case is specifically designed for the GoPro Hero 9 Black only, so other models won't be compatible.
Overall, the TELESIN Action Camera Protective Case Cover has significantly improved my photography experience, providing peace of mind knowing that my GoPro Hero 9 Black is well-protected and ready for action.

🔗Waterproof and Durable Action Shot Camera Case

https://preview.redd.it/d5jkjh2ws34d1.jpg?width=720&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=2b35b88a739e37c9f69916417a6c60538db5bc4a
I recently got my hands on the Action Shot Water Proof Case, primarily to protect my trusty Action Shot camera during my adventurous outdoor excursions. I must say, it has been a game changer!
The first thing that impressed me was its solid build. The rugged design can easily withstand impact and falls, giving me the peace of mind when I'm out capturing extreme shots. Even more impressive is the all-weather sealing feature that keeps my camera dry and safe, irrespective of whether I'm jumping into a pool or attacking the waves on my surfboard.
The easy Click & Grip mounting system is definitely a highlight. It's compatible with all Action Shot mounting hardware, which makes it incredibly convenient to switch between different mounts based on my requirement.
However, as with any product, it does have its shortcomings. The case isn't as water-proof as advertised. I've had a couple of instances where water somehow managed to seep in despite being fully sealed. Additionally, the case's depth doesn't seem to match the 10ft/3meter specification, so that's another point of contention.
All in all, I believe the Action Shot Water Proof Case is a decent accessory for those looking to safeguard their cameras in harsh environments. The robust design and easy mounting system make it versatile, but the lack of proper water-proofing is something that needs improvement.

🔗Stylish Forest Green Camcorder Bag

https://preview.redd.it/1jwyjsews34d1.jpg?width=720&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=083bc325c400363c574e9aefe3b90619cd2bc117
I recently got the Vangoddy Laurel Forest Green Sport and Action Camera Compact Camera Case to house my precious camera and related gear. As an avid adventurer and storyteller, I need a case that not only provides the utmost protection, but also keeps my camera and its accessories easily accessible.
Ever since I got this case, it's been a game-changer. The nylon material feels secure and sturdy, offering a sense of confidence that my camera is well protected, especially when I'm hiking through rugged terrains or surfing wild waves. Interestingly, its unique padded fold out camera compartment provides an impressive level of protection that has kept my camera safe from any accidents.
One of the things I love about this case is the rear pockets. They allow me to swiftly access my SD memory cards, cables, chargers - the list goes on. This quick access feature has saved me from countless missed photo opportunities. And, when it comes to carrying this case, the adjustable, removable shoulder strap with extra padding has made my travel experience incredibly comfortable.
However, one minor drawback is space for accessories. As a heavy-duty traveler, I pack quite a bit for my photography trips. So, while this case is fantastic, it might not have enough space to cater to all the accessories I might need.
All in all, I'd say the Vangoddy Laurel Forest Green Sport and Action Camera Compact Camera Case is a must-have for photographers or videographers on the go. Its high-quality material, superior protection features, and convenience, make it worth every penny.
So, the next time you hit the road with your action camera, don't forget to pack yours. You won't regret it!

I can personally attest to the convenience and efficiency of the Vivitar Hard-Shell Case for GoPro Action Cameras. . As an avid action camera enthusiast, I've often struggled with managing and transporting my ever-growing collection of accessories. .
This case, with its robust hard-shell construction and thoughtfully designed divided compartments, has been a game-changer. . No more scratched lenses or misplaced memory cards! . Plus, the simplified carrying strap means I can quickly grab my case and go. .

2024.06.02 05:26 jlesnick I got 10 weeks out of Daxxify. How did this get FDA approved?

I've seen other threads about this, but I just don't understand how Revance got the FDA approval to say this stuff lasts for 6 months on average. I noticed my 11's/glabella start moving a little a week ago, and now at 10 weeks it's almost completely mobile, as are my forehead wrinkles. The forehead I don't freeze, I just soften them, but they're getting close to normal.
The FDA doesn't just let companies make claims like "lasts for 6 months on average" willy nilly. You have to back it up with tons of peer reviewed data.
So how is it that the FDA approved this stuff, yet no one seems to be getting anywhere near the 6 months they quote.

2024.06.02 04:07 Ok-Raccoon1530 My experience with a 13w6d surgical in-clinic D&E at Cherry Hill Women’s Center NJ

My experience as a patient at Cherry Hill Women’s Center NJ with a D&E abortion at 13w6d pregnant.
TLDR; very very kind staff, clean environment, professional clinic setup, 4 hour process, overall great experience as a patient.
My backstory: I’m over 30, married for over 10 years and have never had a pregnancy before. I have always been told by my doctors that i would never be able to get pregnant. I’m on multiple medications that can cause severe birth defects and i was not aware that i was pregnant until i was 12w5d. I had no idea how far along i may have been because i didn’t note any pregnancy symptoms except for tender nipples and vomiting a week prior to taking a test. I have always had a very inconsistent period and had frequent spotting on a regular basis. I had an US done & measured at 13w0days & was able to schedule this procedure for 6 days later so this abortion was done at 13w6days.
Emotionally this was very hard for me. I reconciled the fact that i would never be pregnant as a very young teenager. My husband and I decided not to pursue having children at the very beginning of our relationship and he still does not want to be a father. Initially I was very afraid to tell him that i was pregnant because i was afraid that him knowing i was pregnant would change his feelings about having children and that he would hate me for taking this away from him. I’m very fortunate in that he was resolute in his decision to not have children and he’s been absolutely incredible through this whole process. He said he would support me if i wanted to keep it but my medical reasons for wanting to terminate were valid and he was in full agreement that life is hard enough and intentionally bringing a deformed/disabled child into the world when life is already so hard just wasn’t the choice for us. He has been my absolute rock through all of this.
I did a lot of research prior to my appointment and I’m not going to lie, there are a lot of bad reviews on google that had me extremely nervous, making me feel like i was going to be walking into a back alley abortion and i was terrified that i wouldn’t be able to bring my husband with me for this whole experience. There is so much anti abortion propaganda out there and there are a lot of videos designed to make you feel like you are a bad person for “murdering babies” and trying to scare you out of going forward with the procedure, but if this procedure is the right decision for you, this place is the right choice to go to. Everyone is kind and professional and understanding. Not once was i made to feel like i was a bad person or making the wrong decision. I was met with understanding and support every step of the way. It is completely normal to be scared or emotional going into this. I have been a healthcare professional for over 10 years and am very familiar with preop/post op procedures and patient care and i was still very scared going into this appointment.
Scheduling experience: I used their online appointment request tool on a Sunday and Monday afternoon i got a text with a link for a hipaa compliant chat. I chatted with a very nice lady who was able to schedule me for the following Saturday. I wasn’t given any information other than to not eat or drink anything after midnight the night before and to be at the clinic at 8am Saturday. No one called, texted, or emailed any further instructions after that chat communication.
This is where my feedback for them to improve comes in. They really need to make it clear what to expect the day of the appointment: that we will not be able to have a support person come in with us because only the patients can be in the waiting room for safety purposes. They should be highlighting the process of the day with the multiple back and forth trips from the waiting room to the back and the different steps to expect. It would have been nice to know i would do paper work then wait then US and blood and vitals then wait then nurse for the history & going over the procedure then wait then the payment then wait then come to the back for preop and talk to the doctor then wait in preop then the operative area for the procedure then what to expect for the post op experience.
Clinic experience: Upon arriving to the clinic, the protesters on the front sidewalk were SO very nice to make the driveway more visible. -___- Unfortunately nothing can be done to remove them from a public walkway. The security guard comes to the door when you pull in to ensure you arrive inside safely. Please don’t let them deter you, don’t even look at them or acknowledge them.
I was greeted by the very kind security guard who had my escort sign me in and then i entered the office by myself.
The receptionist was very kind and provided me with my paperwork to fill out. The office was clean and quiet. After about 45 minutes i was taken back by a very kind employee (sweetest kindest human being ever with such a calming energy) who did my ultrasound and vital signs and did a finger stick to check my hemoglobin level and rH factor of my blood. I was then taken back to the waiting room for the next step.
30 minutes later i was taken back to speak with the nurse to go over my health history, medications, birth control options, and the procedure. The financial planner then came in and took my payment (we paid cash $750 for the sedated D&E, $65 for the depo shot we are fortunate to have the income to cover the costs but they do offer financial assistance ask the scheduler about it if you need it)& i was escorted back to the waiting room.
20 minutes later i was taken back by the first employee (the literal angel on earth, so so kind) who did my ultrasound earlier to talk with the Dr, who was also very nice, and i was given cytotec to place between my gums and cheeks to soften my cervix and prepare me for the procedure. I was then taken to the preop/postop area to put a gown cap and booties on, they let you keep your own socks on and it’s chilly in there so i recommend doing it. They put me in a recliner chair with a blanket and then about an hour after getting the cytotec, the nurse started an iv & gave me zofran since i was feeling nauseous. At this point i was having weird stretching bloating feelings in my uterus area with moderate to strong cramps, which i assume was the cytotec softening everything & dilating my cervix. I noted the post op nurses were very kind to the patients the whole time and met the loopy antics of the other women waking up from sedation with good humor and kindness.
The operative nurses wheeled me back to the procedure room in the recliner chair I was in and I was taken in to the procedure room and met the anesthetist and operative nurses. They helped me get situated on the procedure table and then the next thing i remembered was waking up in my recliner chair in the preop/post op area. They took me back at 10:45 and i woke up in the post op area at 11:12.
The post op nurse said i stood and sat in the chair on my own from the table to in the operative area as they don’t lift anyone there but i don’t remember anything between being positioned on the procedure table before the procedure and waking up in the chair in post op. The post op nurse gave me the depo provera shot i previously decided to take with the first nurse and helped me to the bathroom to get changed back into my clothes.
I felt moderate cramping, similar to period cramps on a heavy flow day, and had a good amount of bleeding and small clots present in the toilet. I came prepared and brought female pull-ups and pads so i put those on. My husband arrived to pick me up and the post op nurse gave me a 1x dose of antibiotics to prevent infections and went over discharge education. They escorted me out to the car and i was on my way home. I took 800mg Motrin as soon as i got in the car.
They had the security guard still at the front door and then a clinic escort in the parking lot keeping the protesters off the property and on the sidewalk.
I arrived for my 8:00 appointment at 7:30 and was in the car on my way home by 11:30. By the time we got close to our home 45 minutes later the Motrin had me feeling well enough to have a meal with my husband at the local diner.
It’s now 8 hours after we got home and i feel mild cramping after taking another dose of 800 mg Motrin. I would say the discharge is similar to a heavy flow day with small clots. My lower abdomen is visibly bloated but not very tender to the touch. (Until my husband wasn’t thinking and set Wawa bags with a half gallon of milk in them on my lap/lower abdomen -_-) I have a weighted heating pad and I’ve had it laying across my abdomen since i got home and it’s been so helpful for the mild to moderate discomfort I’ve had.
Timeline of events:
0730 arrived, security very nice, receptionist very nice 0815- taken back for US, VS, finger stick. Ultrasound tech very nice. 0845- nurse - history, procedure review, birth control planning. very nice and informative 0900- financial counselor very nice 0920- brought back by first US tech to see the Dr, cytotec inserted in cheeks 0930 changed into gown put in preop recliner chair, curtain dividers 1000- preop nurses very kind, playing fun music, joking with patients during their postop grogginess 1030- iv inserted 1045- took back to the procedure room 1112- procedure done, in recovery, got depo shot, iv taken out, got dressed 1130- discharge education and went home. Moderate period like cramping.
Recommendations: - ask as many questions as you need to feel comfortable, they will take the time to answer them - It’s normal to be nervous but you don’t need to be afraid to come here. Everyone was kind, understanding, and professional there. - Your decision is the right decision. Period. No one else gets to make it for you. - It doesn’t matter if you are young or older, single or married, have no children or already have 10 children, this decision is yours and your rights - Hydrate well the night before. I made it a point to drink several liquid IV’s late the night before knowing i couldn’t have anything to eat or drink after midnight. It will be very hard for the nurses to get an IV in your vein if you are very dehydrated, the more you drink the night before, the better your veins will be. - Bring your own pads or even female pull ups whatever you prefer. They do supply you pads but they’re the big huge thick ones that most people hate. - Have Motrin ready to take as soon as you’re done. - Get a heating pad for afterwards it really is soothing. - Walk as much as you can, it helps with the pain and swelling and helps get the clots out. - Firmly massage over your uterus area it will help get the clots out and help your uterus shrink back down to size faster. - If your BMI is over 40 they won’t be able to do an asleep abortion there since they don’t have advanced airway management there. You’re a higher risk of respiratory depression during sedation when you’re overweight. I wasn’t aware of this until i talked with the history nurse. Luckily i was right at 40 and the anesthetist cleared me. - If you need to be sedated they will make you have someone sign you in and sign you out. But they can’t come inside and wait with you. You cannot drive yourself. - They’re going to tell you not to put anything in your vagina for 1 week post op- no tampons, menstrual cups, no sex, nothing internally placed. Also no swimming or sitting in a bathtub for a week. This is all to prevent infection. You want the drainage to drain and not build up bacteria inside you. - You are going to be more fertile after the procedure. It can take 4 weeks to get your period again, you can get pregnant before you have a period, use birth control! They don’t do IUD insertions there so consider getting birth control pills or the depo shot while you’re there.

The most excruciatingly (pun intended!) ponderous & menacing »Rick Wakeman — Judas Iscariot« from his 1977 albumn »Criminal Record« : certainly an epic track of the goodly Sir Rick's.
AllMusic — Judas Iscariot Rick Wakeman

Judas Iscariot Review by Mike DeGagne

“In 1977, Rick Wakeman's Criminal Record marked another concept album from the keyboard virtuoso, this time gearing each track to represent either a certain crime or criminal relevant throughout history. With help from the Ars Laeta Swiss Choir, "Judas Iscariot" easily rises above the rest of the songs on the album, displaying yet another effective character portrayal through both the synthesizer and piano. Just over 12 minutes in length, "Judas Iscariot" begins with the heavy, dimensioned echo of the synthesizer, emanating a slightly darkened, pastoral feel. It's here, at the start of the track, in which Wakeman establishes a religious mien to the song that builds ever so slightly as the keyboards become firmer and louder as the song progresses. The foreboding notes are a musical indication of Judas' betrayal that soon become lighter, evolving into the softened tinkling of the piano which in turn introduces the angelic chants of the choir, most likely representing Jesus' forgiveness and, later, his death on the cross. By the end of the track, the austerity of the synthesizer returns, as Wakeman harkens back to the relentlessness of Judas' deed. While the song and album stood forever in the shadows of Wakeman's more successful conceptual pieces, Criminal Record sold extremely well, especially in Europe, where punk rock was beginning to dominate the music scene. "Judas Iscariot" reminded fans of Wakeman's wonderful instrumental deftness, two years after the release of his momentous King Arthur album.”

The church organ used on it (also the one used on Yes — Going for the One) is shown in the followingly lunken-to viddley-diddley.

Established in 2020, Super Slots Casino is already making a name as one of the top online casinos for US players. I found a fantastic casino offering, covering not just 382 slot titles, but a wide variety of blackjack, virtual poker, and other table games – alongside live dealers.
Super Slots is one of the most user-friendly sites I have reviewed and has a massive selection of banking methods to cater to a wide audience.
The welcome bonus is generous (250% up to $1,000) – although the rollover requirements are high.
I think this is a solid option for any online casino player.

Super Slots User Interface

In terms of usability, Super Slots has one of the best casino interfaces I have encountered. The tile-based format is easy to navigate, and the headings are neatly laid out, with search bars and a favorites section. Everything appears seamless.
https://preview.redd.it/k58ympyvyv3d1.png?width=1904&format=png&auto=webp&s=4db8ea3540df950b7baca7f827d7d4fbf922f01e
Each heading displays the number of titles for each game type, and each game tile also reveals the game developer.
I was particularly impressed with the extensive help & FAQ section. This answered most of my questions without needing customer support, with walkthroughs and tips for various games. The bonus requirements were also easily visible.
My first impressions were that Super Slots is at the forefront of modern-casino web design, perhaps due to this casino being only a few years old. That said, I did find the basic purple color scheme to be quite plain. Highly functional, but not particularly exciting.

Super Slots Casino

There are over 470 game titles at Super Slots Casino, including 382 slot titles. These come from leading developers including BetSoft, Nucleus Gaming, Dragon Gaming, Rival Gaming, and more.
I was very impressed with the casino offering, which featured lots of variety in slot titles, table games, and virtual cards, amongst others.
There are also two live dealer casinos, split between Red Casino by Visionary iGaming – which also includes some virtual casino games – and Black Casino by Fresh Deck Studios.
I found this to be a comprehensive casino offering.

Slots

I saw 364 slot titles in the main casino, plus an additional 18 titles in the Red Live Casino, from six different developers. There was plenty of variety to keep me entertained, covering 3-reel and 5-reel slots, classic and modern themes, with both progressive and traditional jackpots on offer.
Furthermore, I noticed regular free spin bonuses. Quite simply, I thought this was a fantastic slot option that more than lives up to Super Slots’ namesake.
Here are some popular real money slots titles at Super Slots:
  • Golden Dragon Inferno (RTP = 96.41%)
  • Wilds of Fortune (RTP = 96.33%)
  • Genies Riches (RTP = 94%)
  • Primal Wilderness (RTP = 95.28%)

Blackjack

I loved the blackjack offering at Super Slots, which was more extensive than most competitors.
There were 17 blackjack titles in all – 14 in the normal casino and another three in the Red Live Casino, covering a wide range of variations from single and double deck blackjack to pirate 21.
The detailed blackjack walkthrough in the help section was very useful – laying out blackjack basic strategy, rules, and variations.
One standout feature was the Blackjack Tournament. This included free-to-play tournaments to test your skills – making it perfect for novice and less-experienced players. Meanwhile, the real-money tournaments come with cash prizes ranging from $5,000 to $20,000 for the top players.
This was an exciting new dynamic as I played against other players on the leaderboard for the big pot.
This is a must-visit for any virtual blackjack fan.
The game titles include:
  • Single Deck Blackjack
  • Multi-Hand Blackjack
  • Pirate 21
  • Double Deck Blackjack

Table Games

The selection of alternative table games was a very pleasant surprise – with these games sometimes neglected by casino rivals. I counted 15 roulette titles, two craps titles, four baccarat titles, three keno titles, and a host of other alternative and specialty games.
The number and variety of table games really helped keep the casino fresh for me once I had my fill of the slots/blackjack/poker titles.
For those unfamiliar with these alternative games, there are overviews and strategy guides for games including craps and baccarat.
Table games included:
  • Multihand Casino War
  • Andar Bahar
  • Teen Patti
  • Three Card Rummy

Video Poker

Overall, I thought there was a great video poker offering at Super Slots, with 15 virtual poker titles. Super Slots has four classic variants of this game, including Jacks or Better and Deuces Wild.
However, for me, it was in the alternative poker variants that Super Slots stood out from the crowd. I found eleven alternative variants, from Texas Hold ‘Em, to Pai Gow and Tri Card Poker.
The poker alternatives include:
  • Let It Ride
  • Tri Card Poker
  • Pai Gow
  • Caribbean Poker
  • Texas Hold ‘Em
  • Oasis Poker
  • 6Up Pocket Poker

Super Slots Live Dealers

Super Slots has excellent live dealer casino options, thanks to two separate live casinos.
I saw 10 blackjack live games, along with four roulette, two baccarat, and super 6 games at any one time in the Red Casino by Visionary iGaming.
Meanwhile, I counted 12 blackjack games, 1 baccarat, and 3 roulette live games in the Black Casino by Fresh Desk Studios.
Besides the live dealer aesthetics, there are several main differences between the two.

Red Casino

Red Casino contains 36 virtual casino game titles alongside live dealers, and you can play virtual mini-games within the live dealer games while you wait for a table.
https://preview.redd.it/cbju7l6lxv3d1.jpg?width=790&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=8e2a1186ef0f0a74666ec5ff4cb48bc36b414bdc
I found the Red Casino has many opportunities to bet-behind on other players’ cards. Some of the games also have unlimited seats.
Red Casino buy-ins range from $5-5,000.
I thought these features were perfect for more casual players seeking some variety.

Black Casino

As a lover of blackjack, I was particularly impressed with the Black Casino. Black Casino is clearly geared toward committed card players.

The minimum buy-in was $10, although most games require $25 or $50 minimum buy-ins, with the range going all the way up to $20,000 for the most serious card players.
I would not venture into Black Casino without knowing what you’re doing. But it’s a great option if you are chasing serious money.

Super Slots Bonuses

I found a good range of online casino bonuses at Super Slots, including welcome, crypto, and referral bonuses, alongside free spins, competitions, and rebates.
The lack of a loyalty program was disappointing, and the rollover requirements are high compared to some competitors.
The bonus requirements were clearly visible – with no attempt to hide the small print.

Welcome Bonus: Up to $6,000 total

The welcome bonus is spread across the first six deposits, which is worth up to a massive $6,000 in total.
On the first deposit (SS250) you can claim 250% up to $1,000.
On the next five deposits (SS100) you can claim 100% up to $1,000.
Conditions:
  • Minimum deposit = $20
  • Rollover = 35x
  • Need to claim winnings within 30 days
  • Only valid for certain games titles
  • Not valid in live casino

Crypto Bonus: 400% up to $4,000

The crypto bonus is very high value, worth 400% up to $4,000 on your first crypto deposit. Be warned though – the rollover requirement is very extensive.
Conditions:
  • Minimum deposit = $20
  • 48x rollover
  • Need to claim winnings within 30 days
  • Only valid for certain games titles

Referral Bonus: 20% up to $200 + 50 free spins

The referral bonus matches many competitors and has a very low rollover requirement to claim. You get 20% up to $200 on your referral’s first deposit, plus 50 free spins.
Conditions:
  • Referral must rollover at least equal to the deposit

Weekly Rebate: 10%

The weekly rebate is there to soften the blow if you go on a losing streak. You can reclaim up to 10% of your losses, from Monday to Friday.
Conditions:
  • Up to a maximum of $250
  • You must have lost at least $1,000 that week
  • Can only be claimed once a week
  • 40x rollover

Refer a Friend

The refer-a-friend bonus is a great way to earn free spins and bonus cash to strengthen your bankroll even more. In Super Slots, you can enjoy a bonus of 200% up to $200 and 50 free spins on Take Olympus for recruiting a new member.
Conditions:
  • The bonus is issued after the referred player’s initial deposit is rolled over 1x or the initial deposit has reached the 30-day hold time.
  • The bonus is issued weekly, every Tuesday.

The Best Super Slots Bonus Codes

These are the best deals currently found at Super Slots. If a code is needed you will find the Super Slots bonus code in the third column. If a code isn’t needed you will simply need to click to claim the offer.

Rollover and Playthrough Requirements at SuperSlots.ag

You know the old saying, “There is no such thing as a free lunch.” This adage rings true when it comes to wagering and rollover requirements at Super Slots online casino. If Super Slots bonus codes could be used and instantly cashed out, the site would go out of business.
Rollover is the number of times each bonus dollar is expected to be played before it is eligible for a withdrawal. A bonus offer with a 10x rollover means that the player has to risk the equivalent of 10x their initial deposit. Only then can they collect their payout.
If these requirements were not put into place by Super Slots and every other online casino, people would be joining just to claim their welcome bonus offer and run off with the money.
Rollover ensures that the money is actually played through the gaming machines, allowing games to get their fair share of use. Rollover also allows the casino to make a profit.
For more information on rollover requirements, visit SuperSlots.ag and check out the promotions page. All terms and conditions are listed, including information with regard to rollover.

Super Slots Mobile Experience

https://preview.redd.it/bxvwguu2yv3d1.jpg?width=641&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=ab3fe24824262696866c9795120426c35de85929
I found Super Slots operates seamlessly on mobile devices thanks to its sleek modern design, with full access to all the game titles.
There is no need to download anything – just simply hop onto your mobile web browser.
Unlike some older casinos, Super Slots was founded in the mobile gambling era, as the website is fully designed with this in mind.

Super Slots Banking Options

I found Super Slots to be a standout option in terms of the range of payment methods accepted – for both crypto and alternative methods.
There are a total of 18 different crypto methods available, exceeding many competitors. As with most online casinos, crypto methods have higher deposit and withdrawal limits, have faster processing (all within 48 hours) and no fees.
In addition, all the main traditional methods are accepted, including credit cards, checks, cash, and wire transfers. These methods do carry some withdrawal fees and lengthier processing times.
However you like to pay and receive money, Super Slots has you covered.
https://preview.redd.it/0oko7ca7yv3d1.png?width=1222&format=png&auto=webp&s=d727651a08baa88eab3101d60c8617fb8c474b7b

All crypto payouts take less than 48 hours and have no fees. Traditional payouts take anywhere from 5 to 15 business days depending on method. Traditional payouts also carry fees that vary depending on withdrawal amount.

Super Slots Customer Support

I found only two options for contacting customer support at Super Slots – email and live chat.
The live chat operators were quick-to-respond and courteous. When inquiring as to the RTP for slots titles, the operator actively followed up with their support team to help me out.
I was very impressed with the FAQ and help sections, which were well organized and answered most of my queries eliminating the need to speak with anyone.

Safety and Security at Super Slots

Although only founded in 2020, Super Slots has a solid background. It has a Panama Gaming Commission license, operates with tried-and-trusted gaming developers, and utilizes industry-standard SSL data encryption technology.
I had no problems with monetary transactions. Despite its youth, Super Slots is safe and secure, with a good reputation.

Final Verdict on Super Slots: 4.5/5

You will find few other casinos that match Super Slots for their number and variety of slots, blackjack, virtual poker, and alternative table game titles. For casino-lovers, the bonuses are high value, although you may find the rollover requirements excessive if you are a casual player. I loved the flexibility of live dealer options, with Red catering to casual players, and Black to committed card players.
The website design is one of the most user-friendly layouts I have reviewed. Super Slots is also an industry leader in terms of the range of accepted payment methods. All-in-all, I recommend Super Slots as a brilliant all-around casino option.

2024.06.01 02:19 stripeyhoodie A BPAL Review Roundup of 14 Scents

This is a compilation of two days' worth of testing & reviewing perfumes from Black Phoenix Alchemy Lab that I previously left in Indie of the Day comments. Please keep in mind that these are "first impression" style reviews, so I can't comment on throw or wear length. With the exception of I Know You're Watching Me, everything here came as a free sample included with my orders, and will be available in the GC.
Day 1
A Countenance Foreboding Evil (Patchouli, ylang ylang, blood orange, and vetiver). I didn't like this when I first received it, with no idea of the scent notes. Coming back to it today wasn't any better. Sweet and musty. Like an old attic that hasn't been kept totally dry. Dusty, fussy, and sickly sweet. Not a winner for me. I'm very patchouli skeptical and hate oranges. I vaguely recall maybe disliking ylang ylang as well. We just weren't meant to be. Destash.
Depraved (Earthy black patchouli swelling with apricot). There wasn't really hope for this one either. I don't loathe it, though. The apricot is nice and I could see how this might work for me layered with something else. The apricot has a nice tanginess to it that brightens the patchouli enough to be tolerable. Husband thinks it smells like vitamin C tablets. Probably nice on someone else. Destash.
Hecate (Deep, buttery almond layered over myrrh and dark musk). I was excited by the name alone and applied without checking the notes first. Internal monologue on applying this went something like, "Jesus that's sweet. Bubblegum? Or is it fruit punch!? Wtf am I smelling?" Then 10 seconds later, "Oh I like this what's in it 🥺". The almond is intense in the bottle but immediately calms down upon application. It's rich without being foodie. This one oozes confidence; sensual without being lusty. Piercing eyes and a quick wit. A very adult fragrance that says "I have arrived". The myrrh is resinous rather than dry. A hint of citrus brightens things up just a bit and the musk keeps everything grounded and warm and full. Absolutely lovely. Keeping.
Jezebel (A gloriously decadent blend of honey, roses, orange blossom and sandalwood). My nose must be getting better. I was able to identify honey, and not-quite-orange off the bat without the scent notes. This one is very smiley. A bright, happy fragrance. Positivity liquefied. Sunshine and flowers in your hair and an unselfconscious toothy grin. The rose and honey are so beautifully matched here, and the orange blossom is pretty and just east of true citrus. The sandalwood feels like an afterthought, but may simply be playing a supporting role to allow the rest of the notes to flourish. I'll wear this on days I need a feminine pick-me-up. Keeping.
Black Annis (A mixture of damp cave lichen and oak leaf with a hint of vetiver, civet and anise). I remembered liking this in the imp so I put it on without much further thought or care. It goes on spicy, almost smoky. There's a bite to it that's adjacent to black pepper. Later I forgot what I was wearing and was surprised to find I smelled black licorice - ah yes, anise. This one is complex. Musky, sweet, spicy, earthy, rich. There is a lot going on, but it's oddly harmonious. I think I like it, but Black Annis is such a singular experience that I can't quite wrap my head around it yet. This one will need further testing to be fully appreciated. In limbo.
Urd (Muscadine, black and red patchouli, cereus and nag champa). This imp was poorly behaved and splortched all over the side of the bottle upon opening. I instinctively spread the spillage onto my hand and wrist so as not to waste it. After 2 minutes I smelled like a headshop and promptly scrubbed it off. "Urd" might be exactly what came out of my mouth while crinkling my nose. 😖 Destash.
Jack (True Halloween pumpkin, spiced with nutmeg, glowing peach and murky clove). After my Urd experience, I decided to actually check the notes before diving in with this one. To me, Jack smells just like a fall themed candle from a place like Bath & Body Works. Maybe the candle is called Autumn Sweater. It's sweet. It's spiced. I don't know that I can smell pumpkin, but I don't know that I can't smell pumpkin - just like the candle. I feel like I've met the kind of woman who loves this perfume for fall. She's a perfectly lovely person, but we find we don't have much to say to each other. Destash.
Black Tower (Long-dead soldiers, oath-bound; the perfume of their armor, the chill wind that surges through their tower, white bone and blackened steel: white sandalwood, ambergris, wet ozone, galbanum and leather with ebony, teak, burnt grasses, English ivy and a hint of red wine). My last scent for the day. I let a friend sample this imp and liked it on them. I'm glad I gave it a try myself because I adore this. These long dead soldiers are ghostly, not embodied. The burnt grass and ozone in this add a perfect crispness to an otherwise heady scent. The smell has a vapor-like quality to it somehow. Like picking up a scent in the breeze after rain. The metal in this is gorgeous. I love BPAL's metallic notes and this is no exception. The ivy and wine sweeten things up just enough to keep this from feeling dismal. It feels like looking out on the sea from a high window in a drafty tower, wrapped in a thick shawl and holding a leather journal you're about to pour your heart out to. Gorgeous. I want 6 bottles of this. Keeping.
Day 2
I Know You're Watching Me (A smear of flushed, pearly skin musk splashed by a sophisticated vintage aldehyde perfume and drenched in the secretions of high-pitched arousal). I looked high and low for a decant of this. Upon application, it smells like extremely fragrant laundry. The way you dream your laundry would smell when your maids are finished washing and neatly folding it. As it dries, I start to get the faintest hint of honey, then something savory, but it's lurking quietly behind the aldehydes, which are now giving the impression of something almost lemony -but there's definitely no lemon. After some time I'm not sure if I'm getting the skin musk or secretions, but I'm definitely smelling a person. It smells like skin that is just developing a light sheen of salty sweat from exertion. It's sensual and absolutely lusty. But the bright, breathy aldehydes keep this very wearable as a daily perfume. It's perfectly clean and perfectly dirty at the same time. A housewife consumed by daydreams of carnal animal passion. Shockingly true to the description. Keeping & upgrading to full size.
Anteros (Throbbing red musk and shimmering chypre with saffron, sweet patchouli, Italian bergamot, red currant, and vanilla bean). Off the bat, the red musk is front and center, smelling of a swirling blend of warm, dry spices. The bergamot peeks out fairly quickly, smelling of orange wood. I almost don't recognize the chypre, as the spices totally dry it out. Anteros begins to take on a traditionally masculine quality at around this point. I get a hint of the patchouli but no red currant at all, which I'm pretty disappointed about. I think a bit of fruit juice would really brighten this up and round it out. The overall effect for me is bitter, dry spices and woods. It does seem to liven up a bit after a longer wear, but I've got a masculine-leaning chypre that I prefer on myself. Passing this on to my husband.
Harlot's House (Angel's trumpet, violet, white sandalwood, oude, copaiba balsam, angelica, white tea, olibanum, and oakmoss). This goes on as a riotous, bright floral. Sweet and lively. These harlots aren't the sultry, seductive type. They're sitting on bar tops and telling tall tales. They're doing the can-can while breathless with giddy laughter. Flushed and beaming and one more round of drinks. The olibanum gives a tartness to the florals, while the oak moss and sandalwood add a touch of sophistication. Truly lovely, upbeat, and with surprising depth. The angel's trumpet is simply gorgeous in this. On me this is a scent for leveraging feminine wiles and exercising inconspicuous power. However, my husband also enjoyed wearing this one. Keeping.
Mag Mell (The warmth of amber, the puissance of white ginger and the clarity of verbena, with fresh green grass, lush sage and cleansing droplets of summer rain). This goes on wet like a bar soap with the word "zest" or "spring" in the name. As it dries down, a wave of verbena threatens to overtake everything else. Luckily the verbena settles down almost as quickly as it appears, allowing the grass and sage to come out to play. The whole effect is very green, crisp, and breezy. The ginger only just peeks out here and there, very elusive and almost shy. I think it's the summer rain component that gives the "clean" impression. This would be a perfect scent on a sweltering day. With further wear, the bright herbaceous plant matter is softened by the amber. I think this would be an easy go-to during the warmer months for any gender. Keeping.
Port Royal (Spiced rum and ship’s wood mixed with the body-warmed trace of a prostitute’s perfume and a hint of salty sea air on the dry-down). My initial thoughts are "bitch, you smell like rum". Suffice to say, this is very rum-forward on application. It does feel like a beach party scent. You've got a hibiscus flower in your hair and by the end of the night you can't tell what's perfume and what's real rum, and you don't care. The wood in this isn't overbearing, it gives me the impression of the wood planks of a coastal pier; weather worn and salt crusted. Not sure if this scent is for me, but I'll give it another go on a warm day. In limbo.
Bayou (Spanish moss, evergreen and cypress with watery blue-green notes and an eddy of hothouse flowers and swamp blooms). This is all floral on me, with evergreen & cypress playing second fiddle somewhere in the background. It's a scent that feels humid, like sitting on the back porch and fanning yourself as you pick up the scent of trees heavy with blooming gardenias. I think I pick up other white florals as well, maybe jasmine. I am missing the water, the bayou itself, almost entirely. Gimme that murky swamp water. This is pretty, but I can't see myself reaching for it often. I'll use up this imp's ear but won't repurchase. Keeping.

2024.06.01 01:51 Famous_Towel_9585 Home R/O system help

We live in a city that has horrible water. I want to get a O system (along with a water softener) but the $$ for the softener (Clack) was $6300 without installation.
I just got a quote for a Puro-Max 5 stage 100 gpd O and it’s $1275, along with $85 for a filter to add the minerals back in and $250 a year for a service call and labofilters. That seems really expensive. O’s on Amazon seem a lot less expensive, along with being able to change your filters yourself.
I did kind of look around- Culligan has a subscription service, another water company got bad reviews- Envowater?
Anybody have any that they have used?
Thanks!

2024.06.01 00:16 Tassadon Branch ergonomic chair lumbar replacement

Hello! I just got the branch ergonomic chair although despite some of the poor reviews I've seen and I really like the chair, however the lumbar support is a bit too tough for me so I removed it. Does anyone know if there is a 3rd party company that makes softer lumbar supports for this chair or am I going to have to DIY find a way to soften the support?

Adidas Adios 6 1000km (620miles) End of Life
Adidas Adizero Adios 6
Hi girls and guys!
Remember the Adios 6? I'm finally done with mine! A few related posts...
Adidas Adizero Adios 6 (Tokyo Olympics F Edition) (11Oct2022) - impressions w/ Brand New + 170km photos
Adios 6 - Durability - Continue? (26Jul2023) - midsole separation ~600km
A little preface about me! • 5'3 (160cm) 112lbs (51kg) • Running, gyming, calisthenic
Adios 6 Stats:
my Adios 6's mileage. did I make full use of it?
Midsole Height -Heel - 27mm Forefoot - 19mm Midsole drop - 8mm Midsole - Lightstrike + LightstrikePro Claimed weight - 231g / 8.14oz (5.5UK) Measured weight (new) - 215g / 7.58oz (6.5UK) F Measured weight (1000km) - 205g / 7.23oz (6.5UK) F Price / Paid - $120 USD / $75 USD
Types of runs • Initially - tempo <3km (<2miles) fast runs for my annual army fitness test • Currently - LSD >15km (>9miles) slow runs for funsies! • some tempo 5kms, 10kms thrown in too

Midsole ---- Lightstrike + LightstrikePro

Adios 6 creases
Lightstrike is extremely hard. After 1000km it's a brick. LightstrikePro is softer and bouncier, but still somewhat firm. After 1000km it's softer. Y-shaped Torsion System - can't really tell how much it helps. But the shoe is extremely stable.
Pros • Guides runners to avoid heel striking as Lightstrike is harsh • Really responsive on faster paces especially when extending stride length • The bounce off is quite incredible when accelerating • Post break-in, midsole noticeably softens and runs get more fun
ConsLightstrike • at slower paces, still responsive but noticeably duller • Lightstrike
Lightstrike creases LightstrikePro hardly crease
Note that this Lightstrike is the "older" formula, and very likely differ from the newer Adios / Boston / SL lineups.
Lightstrike is too harsh for me. It's the primary reason I'm retiring the shoe as my heels are getting destroyed more and more each run, it's literally getting baked into a hard breadstick.
LightstrikePro did lose some bounce and significantly soften up. But the low forefoot stack height doesn't work well with it's softness as the ground feel became increasingly prominent.
Y-shaped Torsion System must've made the midsole so stable. The moment you slightly over-pronate, the shoe snaps your feet back to flat on the landing. Good?
As a first running shoe, it's incredible :) It made running really fun and therapeutic. The ability to ease into a cruising pace and just thomp after thomp was ASMR vibes.

Outsole ---- Continental rubber

wear after 1000km
Continental is incredible. Rain, metal, cobbles has nothing on this outsole. I once heard a review saying Continental makes ferociously grippy outsoles, and it's undeniable.
Even now, I put 100% faith in it's grip.
It's just that the Ribs are pebble magnets. Get a stick to dig out the stones once every few runs and it'll be fine.
forefoot rubber
Forefoot - looks like different compounds are used for left and right
The pad of LightstrikePro sees just a tinge of wear.
rearfoot rubber
Rearfoot - do I have a problem! this is the right shoe, am I supinating?
Lightstrike sees a little wear too. Well deserved considering how bricked up it is. :P
Overall, incredible outsole.

Upper ---- Adidas Textile

upper is near perfect - albeit dirty
Adidas Textile Mesh Upper - very breathable. Mesh is soft, yet firm enough for lockdown. It's good. Suede Overlays - I guess for aesthetics only. A few runs gave me blisters underneath the suede portions. Would be better off with other kinds of structuring, this suede is kinda stiff. Gusseted Tongue - first experience with gusset, why the hell doesn't all shoe come with it. So secure! Heel Counter - okay, it's kinda stiff and made heel slip a little issue. extra lace holes - versatility? (I didn't use the outer holes at all!)
Big note that upper separated from midsole around ~600km in, as seen in the linked post above!
Heel Counter sits proud
Heel Counter is stiff and sits proud. The overlay keeps it stiff, and the "cat ears" hugs my ankles well.
It's okay-ish. The Heel Counter plus Y-shaped Torsion System made the shoe stiff. The shoe hardly flexes, and through the gait, I can feel the heel lock sliding slightly.
I used a runner knot for majority of my miles to overcome the sliding, plus thicker socks helps too. Overall, it might just be a pet peeve insignificant nitpick, but still...could be better!
mini tear. obviously it still has alot of life left
just a mini tear at the Heel Cup, no biggie. Only started tearing after ~700km. Incredibly resilient for a tempo shoe.

Insole

simple, thin, close to unpadded insole
Insole is branded Adizero (as it should!), but not much to comment.
It's thin, non-supercritical foam and has a soft "suede" texture to it. It grips well to socks. Pretty satisfactory.
mini tear on underlay underneath insole
Underneath the insole, there's a mesh layer before the midsole. As observed, a mini tear developed (on both sides) in the forefoot.
But otherwise, near perfect condition.

Conclusion...

Extremely satisfactory first running shoe! It performs as well as it should as a tempo shoe. Not so much for LSD...
Took me wayyyy too long to complete 1000km. I know it's rookie numbers, but I'm kinda proud of myself!
This shoe most likely would've been forgotten by most, but I hope this post kindles a tinge of nostalgia.
My Adios 6 definitely still can handle more mileage, but I've chosen to retire it:
  1. Midsole is getting wonky feels. Rear is hard, Front is too soft, and it's hurting my feet :(
  2. Constant glueing of the midsole to upper is troublesome
  3. I got new shoes!
I wish to commemorate my first running shoe, that I took all the way to 1000km, hope you guys don't find it too corny!
gonna display this over my bed
It looks so silly, but I like it! Cringey, corny, embarrassing. It's calling out to me.
P.S. I have no lawn to mow.

2024.05.31 11:23 prem_fandango Getting Infantilised

Hi there,
I have no official diagnosis (peer review has suited me just fine though lmao) for autism but one thing I have found super eye opening while learning about autism and how it affects me is the conversations around being infantilised and perceived as childish
I have always been treated as cute and especially as a child it was meant with a lot of love and care but as an adult now I find it a bit confusing to deal with
If I'm tired or distracted my voice softens and I don't always have the energy it takes to stay aware enough to keep my voice at a pitch that sounds more "adult"
With certain loved ones it doesn't feel like an issue at all but around people I'm less familiar with I find it extremely anxiety inducing
As I became a teenager and an adult my family made many comments about how I didn't behave my age (despite also praising me a lot for my academic ability) and particularly men have often made it feel more dangerous (I won't go into any further detail with this)
When I'm overwhelmed I lose the ability to speak coherently for a while and I also worry about the position this puts me in
I'm not sure exactly what I'm asking here but it's been on my mind a lot lately and I am trying to undo the shame I was given about something that is not a conscious behaviour but just how I am in the world
Anyway lots of love and hugs to you all this thread is such a wonderful space to have found 💖
Pronouns they/them

2024.05.31 00:01 ozility Rebook Floatride Energy 5 - 460 km review

Rebook Floatride Energy 5 - 460 km review
TLDR: a cheap TPU-based daily trainer, that served me well in the wet and cold

Information:
Weight : 68 kg / 150 lbs
Paces: 6:00 per km / 9:40 per mile easy pace, 5:00 per km / 8:00 per mile tempo pace
Type of running: training for 5k, so anything from intervals and strides to 10-12km long runs, but not races
Size : 42 (EU) / 8 (UK) / 9 (US), fits true to size
Weight 256 gr / 9.0 oz
Midsole: TPU, 6mm drop, 30mm stack in the heel

Fit and comfort
These fit true to size. My feet are on the wider side (Saucony can be narrow for me, but Puma fit true to size), and these fit well. The toebox did stretch slightly with time, so it's less snug now. The upper gives me no gripes, and it feels nice to put the shoes on. The laces could be a bit longer for the runner's knot.

Ride
It has a TPU midsole, so similar to the PWRRUN+ foam that can be found in the Saucony Triumph 20/21 and Ride 17. The ride is tame, with minimal bounce, and feels rather firm. Part of this might be down to my weight. In comparison, the Velocity Nitro 2 feels more plush. The shoes have felt adequete for most of my runs, from zone 2 to speed work. Usually, I forget I am wearing them, which is always nice. Two things I've not enjoyed are downhills and longer runs over 10 km. My legs have always felt more beat up than I would have liked. The shoe provides a stable platform, capable of handling sharp turns, and I've had no traction issues even in the wet.

Weather
Breathability was one of the cons in the RunRepeat review, but I was happy with it. I think wearing the right socks matter just as much. The shoe kept my feet comfortable from -2deg C (28 F) to 22deg C (72 F). Importantly, even at those lower temperatures the midsole didn't harden, which is one of the upsides of TPU midsoles. I've also found that the shoe doesn't retain too much water when it's raining, and if you manage to step in a puddle, it will dry fairly quickly as you run.

Durability
I took the photos after 460 km. The heal area is worn, but I reckon I have plenty of miles left before they are worn through. The midsole has slowly softened with time, but that's been to its benefit.

Conclusion
I consider these a cheaper, lower drop, and lower stacked version of the Saucony Ride 17. The lower stack makes them less ideal for long runs, but gives you a lighter, more versatile shoe. Ultimately, it's a perfectly palatable daily trainer for going through a training block or two, especially in colder climates, or during the winter. I have been more than happy with them, so thanks subreddit wiki (where I first heard about these shoes)!

2024.05.30 18:44 soleil_lune7 Wavy Hair Advice and Product Review

Here's some product review and advice, especially if you've got hair like mine. I wanted to make this before I cut my waist length hair to a pixie cut and forget everything I've figured out about caring for it long.
My hair is really long, thick, and wavy pushing very loose curls. I'm pretty sure it's low porosity: it's an absolute pain to get wet and dry. I started my hair care journey because I was struggling with some frizz, texture falling, and just getting it dry.
So as of now, I think I've finally found products and a routine that I'm happy with the results of and I'd like to share for those of you who might still be struggling. Buckle in, this is gonna be a long one.
Washing I wash twice a week: one wash with a gentler shampoo and one with a stronger shampoo, each followed by the matching conditioner (I haven't really landed on a conditioner preference yet). To wet, I pull small sections of it apart under the water (so it forms kind of a thin mesh) and progress around my head 1 or 2 times. Shampoo only at the roots, condition mids and ends then brush through and let sit a few minutes before rinsing and brushing in cool water. All pretty standard, but here's where I digress from most of hair tok a little.
Styling I wring my hair out fairly thoroughly by hand before applying product and styling (my hair just holds way too much water if I don't and will strip all the product off with it). I've also ditched upside down styling: if your hair is really long the clumps lay all wrong together and will always cause messy bumpies in the back when it dries and you flip it over. I know the length is easier to manage upside down, so if you want to start upside down I've found anything before curl cream won't mess with the lay of the clumps, then you can flip over, establish your desired part, split into two sections over either shoulder, and finger comb to lay nice (at this point it might not even look like it has any texture at all, do not fret it will get there). I start with heat protectant spray and a little leave-in conditioner on the very ends (just because my ends are pretty dead from going too long without a trim :). Here I do the flip I described above and apply curl cream then gel. I do about a quarter (the American coin) sized dollop of each for half of my hair, emulsified and applied with an open fingered praying hands method, fingers pointed upwards and dipping just slightly into the curtain of hair. After each product is applied to each section I scrunch and squish the hair. At this point, the mids and ends of my hair will sometimes be dripping wet again (from humidity in the room and water dropping down from the roots). If this is the case I microplop/scrunch with a microfiber towel before glazing mousse over the hair with closed finger praying hands and scrunching one last time before grabbing my diffuser.
Diffusing I use the Speedy Blow diffuser by Trademark beauty. Is it the best diffuser ever? Probably not, but it's easy to find, it's small, easy to transport, and powerful. It gets the job done: my only really complaint/caution being that with really long hair you have to watch out for hair getting suctioned into the backside because the barrel isn't terribly long. It's not terribly difficult to avoid and I don't know that many other diffusers have a barrel that would be long enough. Anyways, when I diffuse I hover over my roots on high heat and air speed, moving my hair all around my head to get the roots completely dry before turning the heat and speed down one setting to scrunch diffuse in the bowl most of the rest of the way dry. Then, I put heat and speed back up and hover diffuse my whole head, moving the hair around making sure to get all the weird overlapping spots fully dry. I can't leave my hair even the tiniest bit damp or it will make my texture fall.
Miscellaneous And that's pretty much that: at night I pineapple with a smooth scrunchi and on non wash days I'll refresh by dampening with a spray bottle of water and then glazing diluted leave-in and/or gel if I feel either is needed. I will also do a clarifying shampoo and deep condition/mask once every couple weeks.
Product Review Now onto the product review. I'll lump all products of the same type together and the first ones in each section will be what I currently use. I got inspo for some of my products from Manes by Mell's video "They Didn't Know Their Hair Was Wavy," and while I noted both versions of each product they used in the video, I ended up being really happy with the first one I tried/was able to find. Even though I never tried the second versions, I've listed them here for you to have more options to pick from. Also, the vast majority of the products below are in stock in most grocery/drug stores, so they're fairly budget friendly and easy to find. I personally don't go to drug stores or beauty stores often, so those are slightly out of the way for me, and I prefer not to order online when possible. Anyway, I'll leave a little note for where each product is available in the review.
Cake the Curl Whip: This mousse gets recommended on this sub a lot for all hair types. I like it because it gives a really strong hold, which I need on wash days. My one caution would be it's easy to get too much of it, especially for wavy hair, so use a light hand and if you end up completely coated, be sure to towel scrunch. Drug Store ✔️
Herbal Essences Curl Boosting Mousse (Berry): A really good mousse if you're looking for a medium hold and it smells really good too. Just wasn't enough hold for my texture issues. Grocery Store ✔️
Shea Moisture Coconut & Hibiscus Curl Mousse: I actually really liked this mousse. It left my hair feeling really soft and rejuvenated. At one point this was my protein product because it has silk proteins, but I still had to follow with other hold products because the hold is very light. As another caution, I mainly stopped using this because the last bottle I got had some issue with the contents where it wouldn't foam up at all, so there's that. Grocery Store ✔️
Cantu Shea Butter, Moisturizing Curl Activating Cream: This is my curl cream right now and I couldn't recommend it more. This almost single handedly took my texture from "did you sleep on wet hair?" to very wavy/loosely curly. It smells incredible too. Grocery Store ✔️
Briogio Curl Karizma Leave-in Defining Cream: One of the Manes by Mell products. A great option if you have any problems with the Cantu curl cream. Beauty Store ✔️
Ouidad Heat & Humidity Gel: This is a great strong hold gel. I don't really have any other comments, it has worked wonders for me. Beauty Store ✔️
Briogio Gel: One of the Manes by Mell products. A great option if you have any issues with the Ouidad gel. I will say it is reportedly more of a medium hold. Beauty Store ✔️
Not Your Mother's Curl Talk Gel: I don't love this gel as much as some other people do. I'm using it up on refresh days, but it just doesn't have enough hold for me on wash days. If you don't need as much hold, it's a great budget friendly option. Grocery Store ✔️
Bumble & Bumble Invisible Oil Heat Protectant: Yesyesyes! Works great, smells great, and really adds shine to your hair. I just got this after my NYM spray fiasco (detailed below) and couldn't be happier, 10/10. It is probably one of the more expensive products on this list though. Beauty Store ✔️
Fenola 10 in 1 Heat Protectant Spray: One of the Manes by Mell products. A great option if you have any issues with the Bumble & Bumble spray (mainly price). Online Only
Not Your Mother's 10 in 1 Hair Perfector: I tried this heat protectant spray in a pinch because I couldn't find the other two above at the store. And no, just no. Maybe try anything else? Seriously, it might have been an ok heat protectant, but the product was just too thick for the spray pump and I fought with it from the very first spray to the last. Grocery Store ✔️
Mielle Pomegranate Honey Leave-in Conditioner: If you're gonna use a leave-in, this is the one hands down. As I said above, I don't really use leave-in much now, save in futile attempts to mask dead ends. But I will probably always keep this around as a bathroom staple: it my favorite smelling product on the market and the hydration is unmatched. Grocery Store ✔️
Maui Hibiscus Water Shampoo (& Conditioner): I found this in a reel/tik tok for low porosity wavy hair and was skeptical because the packaging looked rather pandering (and pink, I don't like pink). But I was pleasantly surprised, at least by the shampoo. This is currently my stronger shampoo and it really does get the scalp and roots CLEAN. As far as the conditioner, I could take it or leave it. It's a bit thin and fruity smelling for my liking. Grocery Store ✔️
Herbal Essences Honey Shampoo (& Conditioner): This is my gentle wash shampoo and I think it does a good job balancing cleaning with hydration. I also quite like the feel of the conditioner and am currently leaning towards it being my primary conditioner in the future. Grocery Store ✔️
Herbal Essences Eucalyptus Shampoo (& Conditioner): Just thought I'd drop this one here. I can't stand the way tea tree and eucalyptus feel on my skin, so it was an immediate no for me. But it's worth noting that eucalyptus has anti-dandriff properties and it is otherwise a good CGM friendly shampoo and conditioner. Grocery Store ✔️
Hairitage Double Down Co-wash: At this point in my hair journey I was trying to wash my hair more often without stripping it too much. This might be a good co-wash if you're into that, but it was such a struggle to get worked over my whole scalp and I had to use a lot of product. Definitely wouldn't recommend for long hair. I came to the conclusion that, since my hair takes so long to dry and style from soaking wet, it didn't make sense for me to wash it so often anyway, co-wash or not. Grocery Store ✔️
Hairitage Smoothing Conditioner: I remember this being a good conditioner. It didn't really serve me that well after the co-wash, but coupled with the Shea Moisture mousse it made my hair supe silky and soft. If you're looking to smooth and soften, this is a good option for conditioner. Grocery Store ✔️
Maui Flaxseed Shampoo (& Conditioner): I'm trying things out again sigh. But I've picked this combo because of how much I liked the hibiscus version of the shampoo and in hopes that the Flaxseed conditioner will be thicker and smell better for me. I'll keep you posted on how it goes. Grocery Store ✔️
Garnier Fructis Treats Purifying Shampoo: This is a good budget friendly reset shampoo if you are just starting CGM. Honestly, I'm ditching it because the regular Maui shampoo that I used gave me a much better clean. I always felt I had to follow this with at least my gentle shampoo to actually get my scalp and roots all the way clean. Grocery Store ✔️
Maui Scalp Care Clarifying Shampoo: I just got this to try out as my reset/clarifying shampoo. I have high hopes based on my experience with the hibiscus shampoo. Again, I will keep you posted. Grocery Store ✔️
Shea Moisture Manuka Honey Intensive Hydration Mask: I have been using this once every 1 or 2 weeks as a deep conditioner and really feel it brings my hair back to life. The only downside is leaving it sit for 30 minutes, which means I sometimes have to skip this step in my routine just because I don't have the time. Grocery Store ✔️
Fanola Nutricare Restructuring Mask: I just got this mask and used it for the first time and it is amazing. Definitely just what my hair needed, it turned out so soft with almost no frizz. It's also really nice that this mask only needs to sit for 5 minutes, so you can just substitute it for conditioning. It smells really very sweet, almost sickeningly so, but the benefits are worth it. Online Only
Aztec Secret Indian Healing Clay (Scalp Mask/Pre-poo): I would say if you are really into hair care, doing this as a pre-poo every so often is a really great option. The clay is traditionally used as a face mask, but can be used as a scalp mask and rinsed in the shower. My scalp felt great after doing this... but honestly I only did it once because it was such a pain, and a mess. My shampoo works well enough that I don't need to do this, so I don't. Grocery Store ✔️
Final Comments If you're still stumped on products and haven't liked anything above, guidelines I've heard for wavy hair beyond the CGM are light moisture products and strong hold products. Examples of ingredients to look for are honey and fruits as opposed to butters and oils. Additionally, I really like aloe and shy away from alcohols which can be drying. I generally trust all the brands listed above (except Garnier, I would only use their reset shampoo) and I have heard good things about Mane & Tail as well.
Ok, that is everything I have. If you made it this far, thank you so much. It would mean the world to me if you would like and/or comment if you found this helpful. Wishing you happy hair!
edit I've changed my phrasing to be more culturally considerate, thanks for the education bot!

2024.05.30 17:10 andypeloquin Book Review: Reign and Ruin (Mages of the Wheel #1) by JD Evans

Book Review: Reign and Ruin (Mages of the Wheel #1) by JD Evans
TL;DR Review: The perfect blend of romantic and epic fantasy. Clever, engaging characters, an enthralling story line, and a lava-hot romance.

https://preview.redd.it/7fk6zbctxk3d1.png?width=717&format=png&auto=webp&s=031edead222643652b9a9630e92dcb97817f8363

Full Review:

I may be late to the Reign and Ruin party—it won SPFBO 7, after all—but after reading it, oh boy am I ready to RAVE (about this book)!
Reign and Ruin delivers everything I look for in a romantasy novel: two characters who are equally compelling in their own right, an engaging and epic plot, and, most important of all, a romance that doesn’t feel forced or shoe-horned in, but is developed organically and consistently throughout—until it finally culminates in the inevitable Happily Ever After I absolutely demand.

Characters:

I was in love with Naime from the first word out of her mouth. Daughter of the Sultan she may be, but she is in no way overshadowed by her father. Far from it, in fact: she is trying her best to keep him (and herself) together while his mind deteriorates. Raised watching her father govern his Sultanate, educated in law and politics, she is whip-smart with a razor’s edge tongue and a mind to match.
Her verbal sparring with the inevitable “wicked Vizier” was both wonderfully clever but also incredibly well-educated. Her intellect and poise are stunning to behold from the beginning to end. There was never any doubt that she was absolutely the best choice to rule, if only she could find a way around the pesky detail of needing to marry. Unfortunately for her, the only eligible options are bad, terrible, and worse—including the son of the aforementioned wicked Vizier (this particular pairing includes a delicious twist that I absolutely loved).
Enter Makram, brother to the “Mirza” (ruler) of the neighboring kingdom—which, of course, Naime’s people have been enemies with for centuries.
Makram started off as a weaker character, despite being a general and leader of men. He bites his tongue and plays along with his brother’s whims. Which, inevitably, don’t always work out in his favor.
But as he eventually defies his brother and journeys to Naime’s kingdom to try and make peace, we see his true strength. He is so much more than just brother to the king; he’s the most powerful mage in his kingdom, a competent leader, and an all around decent man.
That’s what makes him such a breath of fresh air to read. In sharp contrast with the scheming and politicking that pervades everything in Naime’s court, he’s a blunt, direct man who doesn’t toy with words or hide his true thoughts and feelings behind subtle jabs and smiles. He cuts like a sword through the tangled web of court politics and, in so doing, gives Naime hope that maybe there can be a future where their two kingdoms are allied against a greater enemy.

The Plot:

While many fantasy romances often suffer from weaker plots, that is not the case at all with Reign and Ruin.
Don’t get me wrong: it’s very much about the romance (more details below). But the plot is enough to keep the story moving forward at a beautifully rapid clip.
Naime is trying to convince Makram to help her make peace. Makram is willing because he hopes that bringing favorable terms of alliance back to his brother will soften the sting of his disobedience. Grand Vizier Wicked is, of course, trying to sabotage everything so he can rule.
There is not a dull or slow moment in this book. Yes, there are entire chapters dedicated to lingering glances and minds racing and hearts beating and all the usual romance-forward story elements, but they are framed so well by a cleverly written, tangled plot that they serve to enhance the story rather than detract from it.
Makram brings the physicality while Naime brings the intellect, and together, their brains and brawn make for an amazing pairing that drive the story forward at a breakneck pace.

The Romance:

Now we get to it, the heart of the matter (literally).
After much thought, I’ve decided that I’m categorizing this book as an epic fantasy romance, not an epic fantasy with romance. The romance is the driving force behind the story, which is seen from the moment we are introduced to the main problem (Naime needs to marry) in the first chapter.
The only way to describe this romance is SLOOOOOOWWWWWW BUUUUURRRRRNNNNN. And I mean that in the best possible way.
While the plot steams forward at full speed, the romance is slow in building. They’re enemies, after all, and though the initial attraction between them is undeniable, Naime is in such rigid control of herself that she can’t even begin to entertain the idea of anything beyond negotiations.
Makram is a bit more driven by his emotions, and it’s clear from the beginning that he’s got a thing for her. But he’s also got pressures of his own that keep him from acting on that attraction and instead focusing on doing what’s best for their kingdoms.
The “I wan’t him/her but can’t” trope was done so well. There’s nothing but attraction at first, which is impossible to miss through their banter (oh, that banter was AMAZING! I wanted so much more of it!). Over time, as they both make choices that draw them toward each other—Makram supporting Naime when everyone else has attempted to undermine her, Naime’s curiosity toward and acceptance of Makram when everyone else fears and shuns him—they are woven together with emotional strands that become an unbreakable bond.
But they don’t bloody act on it! Hence the “SLOOOOOWWWW”. You can see it in every word out of their mouth, every look they cast at the other, every gesture and touch, but they’re fighting their desires for the sake of duty.
And that is where the “BUUURRRNN” comes in. They want it. Bad. Which makes you want it just as bad. But they’re not going to. Then maybe they’re going to. But only a little bit. But then no, they have to pull back. Then wait, maybe a…no, they’re pulling back and then…wait, is that…ooh, maybe now they’ll…no, never mind they’re…a kiss?!!! DO MORE!
This book is basically written to be one giant, utterly cruel tease. It builds up the romance layer by layer, strand by strand, connecting them on an emotional and intellectual level, so that by the time they actually break the physical barrier, even the slightest touches are red hot. No, scratch that, lava hot!
In a world of “fated mates” and “insta-lust”, this is romance written in a way that a man who is both insanely realist and a romantic at heart can say “THIS IS HOW IT’S DONE RIGHT”.

Final Thoughts

If there’s any doubt as to whether or not I recommend Reign and Ruin, let me set them to rest now: put down whatever book you’re reading and go read Naime and Makram’s love story RIGHT FREAKIN’ NOW.
It’s sizzling hot, razor-sharp, and spellbinding. It’s epic fantasy with all the romance I could ask for, and romantic fantasy that feels delightfully epic.
I’m giving this book ALL THE STARS!!

2024.05.30 17:03 Ambitious-Hair-1564 My Black Barenia just arrived- Haas discussion

My Black Barenia just arrived- Haas discussion
They look so good together, I’m keeping the Fauve (had a moment of weakness)! I will be doing a full review on the black today!
I wanted to discuss the situation with HAAS Tanneries. There are two well known factories that are saying their Barenia is from Haas and it clearly isn’t Barenia but Baranil/or Chinese version of Barenia.
How do we know that the skins really from HAAS Tanneries? Mark sends me videos of skins and my selection has its own HAAS stamp and code number. UB buys Barenia only from Haas. It’s very expensive to buy the Haas Barenia that Hermès uses, and has a lot of waste to avoid the blood vessels.
The others will not gain the same patina or soften will not wear the same as the authentic Barenia. Authentic Haas Barenia undergoes a specific process of multiple layers and treatments. From non-auth I’ve seen online… there’s a blotching as it’s used, I’ve seen vertical puckering of the sangle straps as well as the general matt dull appearance. I’m certainly no expert but I have done some research and I hope this is helpful 🧡

2024.05.30 03:21 Solefyre TC100 Relaxed Chair questions

Hey all,
Just picked up a TC100 Relaxed and surprised how firm it feels after all the reviews I've seen about it basically being a couch for comfort. Do they soften over time and how long did that take for any current owners? As it is now, it's not a chair I see myself sitting in for longer periods of time and thinking about returning it.
Any experiences or advice about the chair is appreciated. Thanks

2024.05.29 22:32 HoleIntheX Miracle or too good to be true?

I just got my license in September but started working immediately as my first interview I was hired on the spot. I researched the company before the interview so I was prepared. Everything looked “Normal” and the ratings/review were amazing. Everything looked professional so I didn’t question it. I thought I landed my dream job. Hours are flexible and they work around my schedule to fit clients in. I guess the first red flag was during my interview when she said she had trouble with flakey employees. I brushed it off because I need the experience and the money. Can you say desperate lol. The second red flag was during onboarding when I asked about barbacide she said they don’t use that they only use these wipes because “they don’t work with blood” mind you she does microneedling and waxing. She has a hydrodermembrasion machine which she doesn’t use the water part on the clients she just adds the softener which kind of defeats the purpose? but this is my first job and I’m learning. Which brings me to the third red flag where she hides microneedling supplies in another complex when the department of health comes by. She was very upfront about all of this which I found very sketchy. Not only were there red flags, she started showing her true colors when things didn’t go her way. For example I had a client scheduled for a facial and she gets there 3 minutes before my appointment with my client. That means 3 minutes to greet, consult, and setup. I was very frustrated but determined to push through. I’d just grabbed my linens for the room and she barges in asking why my towels were not in the cabby yet. I politely reminded her that we just got here and I need time to set up. She starts demanding me to put the towels in right that instant and not in a nice manner at all. I then remind her set up takes time and that I had been there an hour prior to the facial appointment waiting for her to open so the towels would’ve already been in. She then tells me she doesn’t want to argue and I said okay you are right I’m done speaking. And one more time demands me to get the towels in. I wanted to cry so bad but I held it in. One last thing that might break the camels back but she charges her clients $225 for a 90 minute facial. Out of that I get $30 plus tip then I set aside 30% for taxes because I am a W2 employee. Something feels off and morally I know the right thing to do but naturally I have to hear another’s perspective…

2024.05.29 21:26 Extension-Fox-7512 fur Stubble Cream

I bought this cream from Ulta today and am wondering if anyone has tried it and gotten good results?
Lots of the reviews say it definite softened the regrown hair, i’m curious if it’ll slow it down and grow back thinner.
I’m going to try it out on my face and legs and make an update in two weeks :)
