Dash acrylic update/ additional question
Hey guys, i made a post a while ago about the acrylic on my dash being chemically faded by cleaning products, courtesy of a car wash. Id like to update you guys and thank you for the techniques for how to polish things. Unfortunately, i was unable to find any plastic or general use polish locally and online is too expensive for shipping and all together but I will keep looking for it and find it soon enough. Meanwhile, I have been using unscented lotion, cream (this is not a joke) to polish the marks and it seems to be a temporary fix. I have provided before and after (pics 1 and 2) showing the results.
The next question and fuckery thats happening in my car is the anti glare coating on my screen (PIC 3). It seems to keep rubbing off on its own but its kind of annoying to look at after this long owning the car and driving everyday. Any way to remove this simply and/or efficiently?

2024.06.02 05:28 Sea-Minimum-7739 Lichen sclerosus question

I’m a male 22 and have had a red rash on the glans of my penis for about a year now and have tried almost everything to solve it. Ive recently discovered that I definitely/most likely have LS as I have the typical white hard patches of skin around the frenulum.
My question is if everyone who’s male that has LS also gets this red rash like I have, or is the rash to do with something other than the LS. I have tried Fluconazole and anti fungal cream but it hasn’t helped, so I guess I’m wondering if the redness I have is a side effect of LS and it’s just an auto immune response.
I’m yet to go to the doctor about LS, I went about a month ago and showed him I have the white patches and he told me he’s not worried about that and he just prescribed me steroid cream and Fluconazole for the rash.
Any help is appreciated, thanks.

2024.06.02 03:26 sdefrhjuyimacat Switching from tret to taz, adding azelaic acid, need advice

Hi! I (37f) started tret 7 months ago for anti aging, was quickly able to use nightly and currently use .05%. My skin is combo/oily. I was tired of paying so much for Nurx and just received my alldaychemist order of tazarotene (Tazret gel .05%) and azelaic acid (Aziderm cream 20%). How would you recommend I start with new products? I’m thinking of using the Taz nightly, instead of tret of course, and adding AA in the morning after a week or so if there’s no irritation from Taz. Thoughts? TIA!

Rate my skincare!! (Oily skin type)
I (21F) live in Arizona, so hydration is key for my oily skin. Unfortunately I’m still getting lots of black heads and still feel oily/clogged :/ I’m listing my skincare out in order! My goal is to have hydrating skin, less breakouts, and incorporate anti-aging routines. Also please let me know what I need and don’t need in my skin routine! This does cost me over 150 or less sometimes (depending on the sales), but I try to make my skincare last at least for 4/5 months!

2024.06.02 02:26 KiloAlpha157 [M4A] Love, intrigue, and conflict in a medieval fantasy world!

The year is 157 3E (Third Era). Twelve years prior, Artorias Felghast Victorium Elysias, the young and intrepid 99th Emperor of the Elysian Empire, abolished slavery across all of Titania, the largest continent in the entire world. This event shook the core of the entire world. The slavery practicing lands of Morrgris and Alabastris were furious, as they had become dependent on purchasing slaves from the Empire, but Emperor Artorias declared that no mortal was meant to live and serve in chains, and it was his divine duty to strike them off of every citizen in his empire.
This tumultuous change in the world lasted for a year, until the Emperor suddenly disappeared without a trace. This soon sparked a three way civil war in the Empire between the Loyalists (Soldiers loyal to the Emperor and his vision for a slave free Titania), the Restorationists (Fascists seeking to re establish slavery in its entirety), and the Anti Human Supremacists (Non humans who seek the complete eradication of all humans from Titania, no matter their stance on slavery).
As the war raged and Titania burned, trade from the continent to all others was all but cut off entirely. As the largest continent filled with fertile farmland, various spices, and other delicacies, many of the other kingdoms in the world had grown to rely on trade from the Empire which had now ceased. This sparked many conflicts, the largest of which being the Great Aviran War.
When trade from the Empire stopped, Avira was forced to repurpose its fields and farmland to supply its own spices, foods, and other important resources. During this time of transition, many kingdoms ran out of important stock, and diplomatic arguments began over how stockpiles should be divided and at what price.
Not all of the kingdoms of Avira are made equal. Westmarch is the largest kingdom with the most fertile farmland, and the Rosewood surrounding Esmynoris is the only place in Avira that can produce many spices. Ten years ago, war broke out, with Westmarch and Esymnoris banding together to protect their resources against Shieldport and Ackria. The dwarven kingdom of Thurn Buldahr remained neutral.
The war raged on for a decade with many harsh battles and stalemates. Eventually, the Lord of Kelvarna and closest friend to the King of Westmarch, lost his life in battle along with that of the lord's eldest child. The grief overwhelmed the king, and he began to seek a peaceful end to the conflict. Thurn Buldahr eventually stepped in as a mediator. The leaders of the five kingdoms attended a week-long peace talk at the base of the World Tree at the center of Avira. There, they walked away with a treaty known as the Spice Accords, and the declaration that the five kingdoms of Avira would stand united as the new Aviran Alliance.
In the wake of a war torn land, the people of Avira must pick up the pieces. To that end, the heir to the lordship of Kelvarna must take his father’s place, and he must be wed. A condition of the peace treaty decrees that he must marry a noble bloodline from either the city of Shieldport or Ackria. Still mourning the loss of their previous lord, the people of Kelvarna make preparations for a grand wedding to solidify the still unsteady peace in the realm. All the eyes of Avira, and some of the world beyond, are watching.

Routine help for dehydrated skin?
Reposting we forgot to attach a picture!
Ignore the fact makeup is a mess, I’m a die hard fan of Ester Lauder Double Wear but finding it a little heavy lately so gave the IT costmetics CC cream a go and clearly it just doesn’t sit well on my skin. Back to the point though, lately my skin has been feeling quite dehydrated, no matter how many hydrating products I layer I still seem to get these tight lines in the bottom part of my face. I think you can see dehydration lines around my chin/cheek area in this picture. Is there anything I should switch in my routine? I feel like it’s already quite hydrating but open to some advice!
Routine:
AM
Cerave hydrating cleanser Habo Laba hydrating toner on damp skin Dr Jart Ceramidin Toner Dermatologica azelaic acid 15% Cerave lotion Beauty of Joseon SPF50
PM
Same as AM minus the sunscreen plus La Roche Posay Cicaplast Baume
I’ve just ordered the Cosrx propolis toner to help with hydration and Medik8 crystal retinal 1 to help with hormonal acne but I’m reluctant to start the retinal until I figure out the dehydration in my skin.

2024.06.01 23:36 Desnuts-1 Update edit

Update edit
I posted yesterday but it didn’t let me edit, so adding some update again.
Edit: Hi all, thanks for your responses! I will cut out the vitamin C and see if that helps. I have always used vitamin C, so I figured my skin was used to it. I will also cut out the Mederma overnight scar cream (it has active ingredient of 2% dimethcone; does anyone know about that?
I mentioned Paula’s 2% BHA but I really haven’t used since I started tret (since 2 weeks).
All the inflamed areas have white heads now. Does that mean anything? Does it mean it’s reducing? I have a trip coming up in ten days, I really wish it wasn’t as inflamed and angry by then. Is that even possible?
Original post: Hi all, I need help. My skin has been crazy and painful for last few months and I can't figure out what is happening. What am I missing? What am I overdoing? I feel like I'm breaking out in the same spots over and over again.
AM: Vanicream cleanser, mad happiest vitamin C, vanicream moisturize la roche posay Lipikar Ap Plusbody And Face Creambody Facetriple Repair and Isntree sunscreen.
PM: On tret nights (2 times a week; in 2nd week): vanicream cleanser, la roche posay moisturizer, 0.025 treat, moisturizer. On regular nights: cleanser, Paula's choice 2% BHA or Mederma Overnight Scar cream, moisturizer.
I have also started using combination birth control: Norethindrone-Ethin Estradiol. Supposedly it helps ache.
Thank you! I'm so tired of breaking now. I understand tret has a purge but I'm at my wits end. The marks never seem to leave.
Here, I'm moisturized and have sunscreen on which is why my skin might appear very oily.

2024.06.01 23:17 streetnavyblue Lactose free cream cheese, acceptable sugar amount?

Is lactose free cream cheese (4 grams of sugar per 100 g) okay to eat on the candida diet? What are your stances.
I'd also like to know how much sugar per 100 grams of any food/drink is acceptable (or not), since even greek yogurt has 4 g of sugar per 100 g, kefir has 4.2 g and coconut milk 2 g.
(For reference I'm not dealing with oral thrush, just recurring vaginal yeast infections, my gynecologist told me to cut out sugar & gluten for a month, so I started the anti-candida diet.) Thanks!

2024.06.01 23:06 JennSikn Fungal or hormonal acne?

I had acne since I was about 14 and it randomly cleared up when I turned 17 after I used some castor oil I found in my bathroom. Then somewhere in February 2024 (I’m 18 now) I started getting little skin colored bumps that immediately concerned me since I was enjoying my life having clear skin for a year. I have not changed my routine for months and have been eating the same way I have for years. So I know it cannot be my facial products, hair products, or diet.
I tried the castor oil method I used before but it made no change and instead broke me out on my cheeks so I discontinued it. Went to a dermatologist and she prescribed me tretioin. I tried that for a few nights and it seemed like it made them bigger and worse. I’ve heard people talk about purging but after reading some subreddits, I was not ready to purge terribly for months and wait almost a year for results (this is what many were saying about their experience). I discontinued tret and looked for alternatives.
I purchased a new moisturizer just in case to experiment and see if my previous one was breaking me out. It didn’t make a difference except for clearing up my cheek acne after breaking out from the castor oil; but my forehead still looked bad.
I tried Paul’s choice BHA liquid exfoliant, also didn’t do anything.
My mom purchased some acne toner by Clinique which contains salicylic acid and I’ve been using that for a week or two to see if it does anything but so far no difference.
My friend with hormonal acne recommended a brand called Malezia. She mentioned it to me after I noticed her skin looked way smoother and she said she’s only been using it for two weeks. They specialize in fungal acne which is what I assume is my struggle based on others’ experience.
Has anyone tried Malezia for their forehead acne? And has anyone been able to clear acne like mine? Need some help

2024.06.01 22:07 needhelpmyhealth540 Complex symptoms all over body for more than a year, doctors having trouble finding the cause

Because English is not my native language, I used AI to help organize my thoughts and correct grammar errors.
21, Male, 173cm, 52kg, living in Germany, non-smoker, non-alcoholic, no caffeine, no drug use, onychophagia.
Dear physicians and medical professionals,
I have had complex symptoms all over my body since last year. They improve when I travel and worsen when I spend more time in my apartment. After seeing different doctors here in Germany without success in finding the cause, I decided to post here asking for further help.

Initial Symptoms

The symptoms first appeared in April last year when I was outside and suddenly had heavy clear nasal discharge with blood. I returned home exhausted, cold, and light-headed (oral 35.8°C). During sleep, my breathing became irregular (short, sharp exhalation), followed by tingling in parts of my body, muscle twitching, involuntary movements, sometimes a feeling like incontinence. My testicles sometimes contracted suddenly. It feels like my brain wakes me when I'm about to fall asleep, and I can feel my strong heartbeat (normal/slow tempo). These sleep-related symptoms persist but are less severe.

Subsequent Symptoms

The next morning, I noticed I was out of breath, with very pale skin and dark veins. I felt cold with occasional chills and hot flashes despite normal body temperature. My blood pressure was slightly high.
Routine blood tests, urinalysis, EKG, SpO2, and thyroid tests taken days after showed slight deviations:
Low creatinine and erythrocytes in urine have been known to me since 2020, and an ultrasound scan of my kidneys in 2022 showed only slight enlargement of the right kidney (barely visible). My GP and I don't think these deviations explain my symptoms, so she sent me to other specialists, including a pulmonologist, ENT, and cardiologist. Unfortunately, all we found out was that I was allergic to alder, hazel, and birch. Anti-allergy meds helped the nasal symptoms, but others remained.

Additional Symptoms Over Time

Other Symptoms that only lasted no more than 1 month

Investigations and Observations

In July, I noticed the symptoms worsened the more time I spent at home. Reducing time at home and keeping windows open made symptoms manageable. Lived in friend's house for a week and moving to new city improved symptoms until my luggage arrived. After unpacking, I immediately felt eye pain and dryness, as well as irritation behind my nose and eyes (I sneezed few times). Within 30 minutes, muscle twitching and involuntary movements reappeared. Other symptoms returned within 24 hours. Three boxes contained clothes, desk items, kitchen supplies, and sex toys.
New GP ruled out rheumatic diseases (tested for systemic lupus erythematosus and Sjögren's syndrome, and rheumatoid factor) and referred me to an allergist. The first allergist/ENT thought the symptoms don't match an allergy since taking anti-allergy meds didn't help, but referred me to a more experienced colleague (allergist/dermatologist) for further examination and I'm currently waiting for an appointment.
In the past three months, the muscle twitching and involuntary movements have gradually worsened. I noticed symptoms improved when I travel.

Attempts to Mitigate Symptoms

Seeking Help

Thank you for reading this far. I understand doctors' work is already stressful and demanding, so I'm extremely grateful for your time in reading my post.
These symptoms make normal life almost impossible. What could be the potential causes of these symptoms? What else can I do? Before the symptoms appeared, I was in good health and working hard to gain weight and maintain exercise.

[Routine Help] Thoughts and advice?
AM: - cleanse with CeraVe Oil Foaming Cleanser (sometimes i'm lazy and i just rinse my face with water) - Biotrade Pure Skin Glow Revival Day Cream SPF50+ (tbh i only use it when i'm going outside that day bc it's too expensive if i use it every day)
PM: - cleanse with CeraVe SA Cleanser or CeraVe Oil Foaming Cleanser - moisturize with Mixa Hyalurogel Hydrating Cream
Hello! I have oily acne prone skin and i'm trying to prevent breakouts. I've been using the CeraVe SA Cleanser for a while and i recently started using their Oil Foaming Cleanser too because i saw somewhere i shouldn't use SA daily. How many times a week should i use the SA cleanser? I try to stay budget friendly with my skincare and avoid comedogenic ingredients - if you spot any in the lists bellow let me know please
I have a few more questions so please bear with me:
Do you think i should try the double cleansing method and if so what cleansers would you recommend? Also would the ones i have work as the second cleanser?
Is the sun protection i use good since i noticed it doesn't say sunscreen and it's just called a "day cream" with SPF?
Last question - do you think serums and spot treatments would help or should i just keep it simple?
I'm open to any advise :)
Here are the ingredients of the products i use:
CeraVe Blemish Control Cleanser (salicylic acid 2%, water, sodium lauroyl sarcosinate, cocamidopropyl hydroxysultaine, glycerin, niacinamide, gluconolactone, sodium methyl cocoyl taurate, peg-150 pentaerythrityl tetrastearate, ceramide np, ceramide ap, ceramide eop, carbomer, calcium gluconate, triethyl citrate, sodium benzoate, sodium hydroxide, sodium lauroyl lactylate, cholesterol, tetrasodium edta, caprylyl glycol, hydrolyzed hyaluronic acid, trisodium ethylenediamine disuccinate, xanthan gum, hectorite, phytosphingosine, benzoic acid)

2024.06.01 21:19 aida_b What are you thickest, heavy-duty moisturizer recommendations?

I (35F) have been on Tret 0.05 cream since 2021 for acne and anti-aging. Pre-Tret, I had oily skin that didn’t need too much attention, except to tackle acne. Fast forward 3 years, my skin is as dry as the Mojave. It feels like no amount of moisturizing really gets to the root of the issue. I’m also on Spiro for the hormonal acne that Tret couldn’t seem to kick, and I know that can have dehydrating side effects, but I’ve been very good about drinking 64oz of water per day, usually with an electrolyte tablet.
I have some Ulta and Walgreens gift cards I’d like to spend wisely - please drop your recs for the thickest, heavy duty moisturizers on the market!
Here’s my routine - tbh it’s always been a little chaotic, product-wise. (I know it’s a mess, please don’t judge too hard!) Open to suggestions on it!
Morning: - wash with LRP Toleraine Gentle Cleanser - moisture layer 1 with LRP Hydraphase Rich - moisture layer 2 with LRP Toleraine Double Repair SPF 30 - (trying to add a second layer of higher SPF sunscreen, can’t find one I like expect Beauty of Joseon SPF 50, but trialing a few others!)
Evening: - cleanse with LRP Toleraine again - Tret 3-4x per week - Cosrx Snail Mucin Essence - moisture layer 1 LRP Hydraphase Rich - moisture layer 2 Vanicream - love it in theory but it gives me small breakouts and somehow doesn’t moisturize enough
Thank you!!

2024.06.01 21:15 rowellowl My skin hates me, I'm miserable

I'm roughly 380 lbs or so, I haven't weighed in awhile. As the title states, my skin is so angry. I have been diagnosed with HS (hidrenitis suppurativa) which is at this point manageable, I do get recurring abcesses that are painful and drain. But what is causing me the most issues are under my breasts, under my belly fold, and my thigh creases. It gets hot and wet which then turns into an ANGRY red rash that iches, stings, burns and gets weepy. Sometimes has an off smell.
I've tried so many different things. Clotrimazole cream, miconizole cream and powder, Nystatin, bacitracin, Dove antibacterial body wash, store brand medicated powder, Zeazorb, liners and Interdry (neither stay in place and the feeling of fabric in my under belly fold drives me insane), OTC anti itch cream, Aquafor, zinc oxide products. I've tried Hibiclens which I don't know if I could afford to keep buying. I've tried all of these and more. I've tried layering these products. The powders clump up. I've used a hair dryer to make sure it's all dry after a shower.
I'm on a fixed income, my pharmacy is now refusing to cover the Clotrimazole I've gotten for a year and a half. I can't afford to keep trying products that don't help.
Please...what can I do?

I have really started to show my age over the last 1-2 years. I never had a skin regime, I didn’t see the need. Well, now I understand why I should have done it all along. I can’t afford much, but I also don’t want to waste money on cheap products that just don’t work. Help!!

2024.06.01 20:17 General_Astronaut951 I’ve struggled with acne since age 11 and I am now 18. I feel as though I have tried EVERYTHING. what do I do now???

This is going to be a long post but I would appreciate you reading…
My acne “story” if you will:
I first started getting small pimples and textured skin at age 11. It rapidly got worse over the next few years, especially over covid. I got acne on my back and chest, and pretty much all over my face. My T zone (especially my forehead) was originally the worst but over the next few years I started struggling more primarily with acne on my hormonal regions (chin, jaw, cheeks). It would always be pretty bad, but on my period I got nasty cystic breakouts and would spend the next month healing from my breakout before the next one would start. Over the next few years I would see the doctor, who prescribed me various different creams and pills. None of them worked and creams were inconvenient to apply to my chest and back. Then a few years ago I finally saw the dermatologist who perscribed me roacutane (accutane in the US) which took a while to work but my skin COMPLETELY cleared eventually. I was over the moon. Fast forward to now, about 6+ months off roacutane and my acne is returning. definitely not as bad as it was before and I wasn’t expecting my skin to be completely clear after coming off roacutane but it’s bad enough that it’s really noticeable and making me feel quite down.
A few things to note:
-I sleep on a silk pillow case which i change every 2/3 days
My skincare routine:
AM: -wash face with cetaphil gentle cleanser -moisturise with simple light moisturiser -protect with; la roche posay tinted sunscreen (SPF50+) or Australian gold tinted sunscreen (SPF50)
PM: -wash face with the ordinary squalane cleanser (apply dry skin, then emulsify, then rinse off) then my cetaphil gentle cleanser -dry my face and apply pea sized amount of the No.7 0.3% pure retinol(every day) -after 15 mins apply cetaphil rich moisturiser
Please if you have any tips or advice or have had a similar experience please please let me know 🙏🙏🙏🙏

2024.06.01 19:40 Field_Apart Account magically "locked" during redemption event. Any insight?

Decided the boycott would be the perfect time to spend nothing and redeem 100.00 worth of points but get 140.00 off. Naturally when I went to pay my account was magically locked, except to earn points, cause you know, spend money. Called optimum help, and apparently my account had "suspicious activity" but they can't tell me when, what, or how long my account has been locked, gotta send it to a specialist who will take 2 to 10 days to get to it, you know, after the redemption event is over. Not amused or impressed. I reviewed all my transactions and there's nothing suspicious there. And like...could they perhaps have...notified me? And email perhaps? Instead I wasted an hour of my life, their employees time, and their call centers time. A woman in the store over heard me and offered to help me pay for my items if I had no money. It was very sweet, but all I was buying was anti aging creams and such that I won't pay full price for 🤣. The staff were so nice, nit their fault at all, and now they have to restock everything cause I sure as heck wasn't paying for it.
I am livid. Off to wal-mart I guess to get the couple things I actually did need.
Any ideas what this suspicious activity could be and how long it will actually take to resolve?
