Bell’s Palsy - 11 year old still unwell

2024.06.02 08:53 RhiR2020 Bell’s Palsy - 11 year old still unwell

Hi all,
My darling daughter (11F, neurogenic bladder) was taken to the hospital 2 weeks ago because her eye had swollen shut and her eyebrow had drooped. The doctor checked for foreign objects, and there wasn’t anything, so he thought it might be an allergy. He sent her home with allergy eye drops.
It didn’t improve, so we took her to the pharmacy, who suggested it could be an infection, so gave her some Chlorisig eye drops, and told us to go back to the doctors if it didn’t improve.
It didn’t, so we went to the doctor on Friday, who checked her eye again. He said it looked like an infection, so to get the Chlorisig ointment and use that as well as the drops - and if it continued to go back to the hospital.
Monday afternoon, still no improvement, so we went to the hospital again. After blood tests which ruled out infection, the doctors diagnosed her with Bell’s Palsy Grade 3, didn’t give us anything for it and sent us home.
She’s still feeling crummy (fatigue, pain and aches all over, sore head, not liking the light), at what point should we take her back to the hospital or the doctors? What other tests should we be asking for? I’m worried about our girl, she’s definitely not herself. Thank you all in advance x

🔗Adidas Prime 6 Extra-Large Gym Backpack for Laptop and Work

https://preview.redd.it/bqcyw3c2v34d1.jpg?width=720&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=0f88991226d548b5df067113d1cf3599518c4749
I've recently started using the Adidas Prime 6 Backpack for my daily commute, and I must say, it's been a game changer. First and foremost, the recycled material used in its construction not only feels sturdy but also gives me peace of mind knowing that I'm doing my part for the environment. The shoulder straps are designed with LoadSpring technology, which truly does help ease the weight of my daily load.
One of the standout features of this backpack is the cleaning process. Unlike many other bags, you can easily clean this one with soap and water, ensuring it stays fresh and free from any accumulated grime. The exterior has five zip pockets and an internal zip storage pocket, making it incredibly convenient for me to stay organized and keep all my essentials within reach.
However, no product is perfect. While the capacity is ample and more than meets my needs, I have noticed that the zippers can be a bit finicky at times, requiring some extra effort to open and close. Additionally, the material, although easy to clean, may not be as long-lasting as some other options on the market.
Despite these minor cons, the Adidas Prime 6 Backpack has quickly become my go-to choice for daily use. Its combination of stylish design, ample storage, and environmentally conscious construction make it a true standout in the world of gym bags.

Imagine carrying a backpack that's not just spacious, but extremely comfortable, with the added bonus of being incredibly durable. As a student or traveler, this Adidas Prime 6 Backpack is a dream come true!
From the moment I got my hands on it, I was impressed by its size. It's extra-large, perfect for those days when you need to carry a lot of stuff around. However, it's not only about capacity. The features that make this bag stand out include LoadSpring shoulder straps. They're designed to help distribute the weight evenly, making heavy loads feel much lighter.
Cleaning is also a breeze with this backpack. The wipe-able lining means that you can easily spot clean it with soap and water, keeping your bag looking fresh and new. There are also multiple zippered pockets, providing ample storage space for all your belongings. Not to forget, a padded compartment that securely stores up to a 15-inch laptop.
However, no product is perfect. While the majority of users praised its durability, a few individuals reported issues with seams not being sewn properly. Despite these minor issues, the overwhelming majority of reviews were positive, praising the style, comfort, and convenience of this backpack.
In conclusion, the Adidas Prime 6 Backpack is a fantastic option for anyone in need of a large backpack that's both comfortable and reliable. Its capacity, coupled with its padded laptop compartment and multiple zippered pockets, makes it a perfect companion for daily use or extended travel.

🔗Adidas Graphic Oversized Duffel Bag for Sports and Travel

https://preview.redd.it/qikeu533v34d1.jpg?width=720&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=610647d983b8b489bf32b54a51e6622f59603435
Adidas has always been top-notch when it comes to athletic wear and accessories, and this Graphic Duffel Bag is no exception! I'm currently using it for my weekend trips to the gym and it's been a real lifesaver. The size is perfect, not too big and not too small, which means it's easy to carry, even when it's loaded up with all my gym essentials.
I was pleasantly surprised with the quality of the duffel. The material is sturdy and thick, so I know it's going to last a long time. Plus, the large graphic screen print on the side gives it a stylish edge. The bag also features a zipper closure and 93% Polyester, 3% Natural Latex Rubber, 2% Spandex, 2% Nylon blend, which gives it a nice structure.
One feature I absolutely love is the adjustable shoulder strap. It makes it so convenient to carry the bag, especially when it's packed filled with stuff. You can either carry it over your shoulder or across your body. It's so comfortable and doesn't strain my shoulder at all.
A small pocket in the bag adds to the convenience. It's perfect for storing keys or a small wallet. Although there's no specific spot for a water bottle, I usually just toss it in with the rest of my stuff and it works out fine.
A few cons worth mentioning are that the bag isn't very light, which can be a bit cumbersome when it's empty. However, it's manageable when you're carrying it on your shoulder. Another minor inconvenience is that there are no straps or hooks for a yoga mat or extra shoes on the outside, you'll have to make do with cramming them inside.
Overall, this Adidas Graphic Duffel Bag has been a game-changer for my gym trips. It's durable, spacious, and stylish, all while being convenient to carry. I've recommended this bag to all my workout buddies and they're all loving it too!

🔗Adidas Team Issue II Duffel Bag - Durable Gym Bag for Professionals

As someone who's been using the Adidas Team Issue II Medium Duffel Bag Black for quite some time now, let me tell you, it's a game-changer! Whether you're heading to the gym or packing for a weekend getaway, this bag has got your back.
First off, the durability is top-notch. Crafted in poly ripstop with reinforced panels at zippers and stress points, this bag is made to last. It also maintains its shape, making it super easy to access your stuff even when it's fully packed.
One of my favorite features is the zip end pocket designed specifically for shoes or dirty clothes. It keeps everything separated and organized, which is a big plus in my book. There's also a zip pocket at the outer face perfect for storing small items like keys or your phone.
Now, onto the straps. The dual carry handles with padded hook-and-loop panel provide comfort while carrying and the adjustable, removable shoulder strap adds versatility. Plus, did I mention how spacious the interior is? It can easily accommodate 2-3 outfits along with shoes and other essentials.
In terms of cons, the only one I could think of is that it might not be big enough for everyone's needs. However, for most people, myself included, it's absolutely perfect.
So, if you're in the market for a new gym bag or just need something practical and stylish for travel, the Adidas Team Issue II Medium Duffel Bag Black is definitely worth considering.

🔗Adidas Prime 6 Extra-Large Backpack - Grey

https://preview.redd.it/s4w0v0v3v34d1.jpg?width=720&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=a1b35d26692cea91e902bbf48604b36128585f20
As a fitness enthusiast, I've been using the Adidas Prime 6 Backpack in grey for all my workouts and daily commutes. The moment I saw this bag, I was drawn to its sleek design and vibrant colors. Little did I know, it would become a reliable companion during my intense workout sessions and daily office routine.
One of the most noticeable features of this backpack is its capacity. It's got plenty of pockets both inside and outside, making it incredibly convenient to store all my essentials - from a fresh towel and spare clothes to my laptop and office files. The padded compartment for my 12-inch laptop gives me peace of mind knowing that my device is well-protected.
The LoadSpring shoulder straps are another standout feature. They've made carrying heavy loads much more comfortable, especially when I'm rushing between classes or heading straight to the gym after work. Plus, the easy-to-clean material means I don't have to worry about sweat or dirt ruining its appearance.
However, one con I've noticed is that the sides of the backpack don't provide much support, which can cause the contents to shift around during intense physical activity. But overall, the Adidas Prime 6 Backpack has been an excellent addition to my workout gear. Its durability, convenient storage design, and visual appeal make it worth its price tag.

🔗Adidas Diablo Small Duffel Bag

https://preview.redd.it/24jd4sg4v34d1.jpg?width=720&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=0e36123b5ed3ba80c5a43250cef88e6326c662a7
I've been using this Adidas Diablo Duffel Bag for a while now, and it's quickly become my go-to bag for trips to the gym or a weekend getaway. This small bag packs a lot of punch; the main compartment is large and easy to load up with all my workout gear. The adjustable shoulder strap makes it incredibly comfortable to carry around, and the bold screen-printed Adidas brandmark on the front adds a nice touch of style.
One feature that I appreciate is the free side panel left for customizing with our team's logo. This bag is also incredibly lightweight and easy to clean, which is a huge plus for someone as messy as me! The only downside I've noticed is that there are no side pockets, but in keeping with its simple design, this duffel efficiently holds all my stuff in one place.
All in all, I'm really happy with the Diablo Small. It's the perfect size for a gym bag or a small overnighter, and it looks good doing it. I would definitely recommend this to anyone looking for a versatile and sleek bag for their active lifestyle.

🔗Stylish modern hide a bed chair - convertible sleeper chair with comfortable pillows and pockets

https://preview.redd.it/ddv86hx4v34d1.jpg?width=720&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=257a014ed1152bd6cc211157979cfae3df06736d
I've been using the Adidas Santiago Duffel Bag for a few weeks now and boy, is it a game-changer! The first thing that caught my eye was the retro design - I mean, who wouldn't love a throwback to those classic Adidas styles? The screen-printed branding on all four sides adds just the right touch of sophistication.
One of the standout features has to be the spacious main compartment. It's large enough to fit everything you need for a weekend getaway, yet compact enough to carry around easily. Plus, the two endcap pockets with zippers are perfect for keeping smaller items organized and within reach.
The adjustable shoulder strap is another highlight. Not only does it make carrying the bag incredibly comfortable, but it also allows me to adjust the length according to my height, making it feel like it was made just for me.
On the downside, the 750D fabric, while durable, might not be as water-resistant as some other materials out there. So, you might want to keep an eye on the weather forecast if you're planning on using this bag for outdoor activities.
All in all, I'm absolutely thrilled with the Adidas Santiago Duffel Bag! Its combination of style, functionality, and comfort makes it the perfect choice for anyone in search of a reliable gym bag that stands out from the crowd.

🔗Adidas Diablo Small Gym Duffel Bag

https://preview.redd.it/3pqilsf5v34d1.jpg?width=720&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=a908dcdfcd4ab19c4d70441908dee8a9d7b0e040

I've been a loyal user of the Adidas Diablo Small Duffel Bag for quite some time now. As someone who frequently hits the gym, I value convenience and durability in a bag, and this one delivers on both counts. Its compact size doesn't compromise on storage, fitting in all my workout essentials with ease.
One of the standout features is its padded straps. They're incredibly comfortable and make carrying the bag a breeze, even when it's loaded up. The zipper closure provides added security, while the attractive color options allow me to choose a bag that aligns with my personal style.
However, there are a few downsides. Some users might find the lack of side pockets or additional compartments limiting, especially if they carry a lot of items to the gym. Additionally, the lightweight nature of the bag can make it feel slightly flimsier than one would expect from an Adidas product.
In conclusion, the Adidas Diablo Small Duffel Bag is an excellent choice for anyone looking for a compact, durable, and comfortable gym bag. Its capacity may be on the smaller side, but if you're someone who prefers a streamlined approach to packing, this bag will certainly serve you well.

🔗Adidas Court Lite Duffel Bag

I've been using the Adidas Court Lite Duffel Bag Black/White for quite some time now and I must say, it's perfect for my daily routine. The bold adidas graphic really stands out, giving it a sport-inspired style that I absolutely love. The size is just right - not too big, not too small, making it perfect for trips to the gym or short overnights.
One feature that stood out was the adjustable strap. It made carrying the bag a breeze, even when it was filled to the brim. The main compartment is spacious enough for all my workout essentials, while the exterior pockets provide added convenience to store smaller items like my phone and keys.
However, some reviewers mentioned that the size might be smaller than expected. Although I didn't face this issue personally, it's worth considering if you're looking for a bigger bag. Another minor con is that there could be more compartments inside for better organization.
All in all, the Adidas Court Lite Duffel Bag Black/White is a stylish, well-made bag that offers ample storage capacity. It's been a reliable companion on all my gym trips and short getaways. If you're considering a similar bag, I'd definitely recommend giving this one a go.

2024.06.02 08:48 DookGuano Kind of confused / lost on technique.

So when i try to sing notes which are really high for me. I try my best to maintain a mixed voice so that the sound feels fuller but whenever i feel any strain in my throat, i shift to a falsetto. Idk whether its to do with my range or my breath support or whatever. Like for example when i sing the higher notes in bruno mars's songs, i have to switch to falsetto. Idk if this is a dumb question. But i'd really like to know what exactly we need to be engaging to be able to sing those notes with more ease and what sensations we should be feeling in our abdomen and head.

2024.06.02 08:46 WiLLNESkrrQuavo_ I don’t know how to deal with self-loathing.

i am a wayward partner.
i betrayed my partner this year in an online affair. i am no longer in contact with ap (since partner and i split).
i made my fatal choice because i was struggling with myself and met a man online while drunk and began an affair- he gave me attention and validation i hadn’t been receiving in a while, but i should have turned to my partner for it. every message i sent, shame erupted over me, yet the feelings of lust overwhelmed any rational actions. horrible. so selfish. i felt horrible about what i had done and ended all relationships. blocked ap, split with bp. bp found out and i split with him the same day. when bp asked me about ap during our breakup- i was transparent and honest. i have always been honest with bp about everything in regards to the affair.
my bp and i have been now living separately for 3 months (D-Day) but regularly see each other and check in with one another, text every day. we are not currently in a relationship but continue affections for one another (typical relationship stuff) and go out on dates. we hug, kiss, say i love you. our situation is confusing but we arent currently seeing anyone else.
i love him so much, but every time i see him i feel horrible. guilty, shame, remorse. when he texts me, my heart feels so heavy.. i feel like i cannot look him in the eyes. seeing his numbness. seeing his old self shattered. he acts so different. he rarely laughs anymore, his tone has shifted. its my fault. i broke this man. my thoughts are scattered. i have nightmares about how badly i’ve hurt him. seeing him cry breaks me.
yet, kissing him just feels so right, hugging him brings me a sense of calm and comfort.
i cry every single day about what i have done. at night, it gets so much worse. all i can think about is how he feels. i absolutely hate myself for it. i hate myself so much for hurting the man i love the most. i love everything about him- there is not one thing i would change about him. he is so kind, gentle, intelligent, handsome, caring, and loving. and i messed everything up.
the first month, i struggled very hard with thoughts of self harm and suicidal ideation. it was very difficult but i am glad to say i am past that point and focusing on myself- or at least trying to.
i still struggle very much with seeing my bp. he and i lived together for 3 years and i miss him very deeply. i cannot help but think about him, worry about him, and i feel i have an overwhelming responsibility to try and heal him for the damage i caused.
i was cheated on constantly in a past long-term relationship. i truly know how scarring and traumatizing it is to your self-esteem, self-worth, values, etc. which is why i do not truly understand why i would have ever done what i did.
this choice haunts me. feelings of shame cloud my head every single day. i hate myself for it. i feel i cannot talk about it with anyone, because i have tried to reach out and was shamed, and people said i was victimizing myself. i am not trying to.. i just want to be able to speak about how i feel.
i am stuck in a hole of guilt and i feel i cannot escape.
we are still working on reconciliation. he tells me he wants to be alone right now but wants to be together in the future- just feels like he cant forgive me. god i feel so much pain knowing i hurt him

2024.06.02 08:09 Quite_Likes_Hormuz I'm just super overwhelmed and I have no clue where to start

I've been putting off voice training for a while and I thought I finally had the motivation to start. I saw L's guide and thought it was straight forward enough and it made a lot of sense. But it was also pretty old so I thought there might be a newer version and I came across a bunch of people saying the guide was outdated and not recommended. People said to listen to the Selene clips.
So I did and I understand what she was saying about size and weight and how you need a proper weight for the vocal size to sound right. And I understand the difference between a small and a large size, and a heavy and a light weight. But how do I actually do any of that? "Make your voice smaller" Thank you, very helpful. What am I supposed to actually do? So I figure, alright maybe this is just a bit more advanced and I look at the transvoicelessons youtube channel instead and I go to the "ABSOLUTE BEGINNERS" video. And less than 5 minutes in as the first exercise she wants me to mimic her pitch which I don't even know the first thing about... I don't do music so I have no clue what pitch she is at let alone how to mimic it with my voice. (I've always hated the sound of my voice so I don't sing or do anything besides speak "normally")
So now I just feel like I'm in way over my head and I don't understand where I'm supposed to even begin. Even the most basic beginner stuff seems too complicated for me and I don't know what to do

🔗Alaïa Black Oval Full Rim Sunglasses with Grey Lenses

https://preview.redd.it/d145lfdql34d1.jpg?width=720&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=a64ab86ba71f057e152c59e8e6534c7135e96a5c
As someone who loves a good pair of sunglasses, especially when they come with the allure of Azzedine Alaïa's designs, I was intrigued by the Alaïa Black Round Sunglasses. Featuring a stunning shiny black acetate-metal frame and solid grey lenses, these sunglasses were a unique combination of vintage and modern styles that fit perfectly with my summer wardrobe.
What stood out to me the most was the brand's signature timeless legacy, which was showcased through the delicate sculptural shapes and edgy cuts. The acetate material was smooth but sturdy, perfectly complementing the lenses' high-quality UV protection. Additionally, the sunglasses were versatile as they fitted both indoor and outdoor activities, and their progressive lenses made adjusting to different light conditions a breeze.
Despite the stunning design, there were a few drawbacks. The sunglasses are slightly heavier than some of my other pairs, which might be an issue for those with sensitive noses. However, this didn't detract too much from the overall experience, especially considering the brand's rich history in creating couture-inspired eyewear.
All in all, I found my experience with the Alaïa Black Sunglasses to be an exciting blend of luxury and practicality. With the brand's signature style, they stand out as a unique addition to anyone's sunglasses collection, and I will definitely be recommending them to friends and family.

🔗Stylish Aaliyah Sunglasses with Polarized Lenses

Take a walk on the chic side with these Aaliyah sunglasses. As a daily eyewear wearer, I've been blown away by the comfort and durability these Polarized beauties bring to the table. Adjustable nosepads ensure a secure and cozy fit, while high-quality metal arms and stainless steel hinges add to the sturdiness.
Not only do the lenses protect against 100% UVA/UVB and harmful blue light, but their scratch-resistant feature has me confident in their longevity. A splash of peach tortoise and black adds a pop of fun to any outfit. The multi-layer TAC Polarized lenses promise crystal-clear vision, and the full-rim, cat-eye frame shape is both stylish and practical.
The only thing better than these sunglasses is the warm feeling of sun on my skin! .

🔗Shiny Transparent Pink Sunglasses by Azzedine Alaïa AA0055S 003

https://preview.redd.it/8cub826rl34d1.jpg?width=720&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=16e4ef17386fcc3982908a5487058f5b398eac5a
I've been sporting these Aazzedine Alaïa sunglasses (AA0055S 003) for a few weeks now, and I must say, they are a stylish addition to my look. Their pink frames with a transparent finish catch everyone's attention, and the solid ink blue lenses complement the overall chic style. The Cat Eye frame shape adds a unique touch to this full-rim design.
The sunglasses come with a Bridge length of 23 mm, and the Lens height is 44.30 mm, providing the perfect fit. Their Diagonal of 50 is ideal for a more comfortable wear. While they are made with Acetate, they still feel lightweight and comfortable.
However, one downside I did notice was that the pink frame is a bit more of a highlighter shade than expected, which might be overpowering for some outfit combinations. Nonetheless, the blue lenses make up for it and provide a stylish contrast. Overall, I would recommend these sunglasses to those who enjoy a bold yet feminine design.

🔗Aaliyah Transparent Light Orange Sunglasses with Petal Studs

https://preview.redd.it/zbgdipbrl34d1.jpg?width=720&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=c72cc920891ca62e3fc732ce2d0dab9739695b3e
These orange Aaliyah sunglasses have been a staple in my everyday life lately, providing both style and functionality. I've found the soft squared shape to be incredibly comfortable, making it easy to wear daily. The Pètal studs on the frame add a unique and distinctive signature to the design.
One of my favorite features is the beveled acetate — it not only adds a bold and voluminous touch to the frame, but it also ensures that the sunglasses remain comfortable even after extended wear. And let's not forget the Category 3 UV protection, which keeps my eyes safe from the sun. The solid brown lenses not only look great, but they also provide excellent clarity, making these sunglasses suitable for progressive prescription wear too.
However, there have been some minor issues with these sunglasses – the transparent light orange frame may not be the best choice for those seeking a more opaque color. Additionally, the silver Pètal studs can sometimes catch on fabric or other surfaces, so be cautious when wearing them. Nonetheless, the overall experience with these Aaliyah sunglasses has been quite enjoyable.

🔗Sophisticated Acetate Aazzedine Alaia Gradient Sunglasses

When I first tried on the Azzedine Alaïa AA0062S 001 Black Grey Sunglasses, I was immediately drawn to their oversized, edgy square shape. The modern and contemporary look they provided really stood out to me. The micro studs embellishments added a touch of elegance, with their striking precision in decorating the spoiler and temples.
While trying them on, I noticed the beveled acetate, which offered great volume and boldness, without compromising the comfort. I appreciated the option for progressive lenses, which ensured a clear and seamless vision. The dark gradient lenses not only looked stylish but also provided excellent UV protection with Category 3.
However, I did find that the sunglasses were slightly more expensive than similar products on the market. I had to consider the quality and unique design before making the purchase. Overall, I'm happy with my decision, as these sunglasses have been both comfortable and stylish while providing the necessary protection against UV rays.

🔗Aazzedine Alaia AA0059S 002 White Grey Sunglasses - Modern Rimless Frames with Grey Lenses

I recently had the pleasure of trying out the Azzedine Alaïa AA0059S 002 White Grey sunglasses. These shades are the epitome of sophistication and style, blending a timeless aesthetic with modern elegance. The shiny solid ivory acetate frame and solid grey lenses provide both visual appeal and exceptional UV protection.
The meticulous craftsmanship of Azzedine Alaïa really shines through in these sunglasses, as the sculptural approach and couture-inspired embellishments exude a sensuality that's difficult to ignore. I found the smooth acetates and edgy cuts to be quite unique and eye-catching, making these shades stand out in a crowd.
However, it's important to note that these sunglasses are not suitable for all face shapes, as they are designed to flatter heart, oval, round, and square faces. Additionally, the full-rim frame style might not be the most comfortable for everyone.
Overall, the Azzedine Alaïa AA0059S 002 White Grey sunglasses are a beautiful and stylish accessory that perfectly captures Aaliyah's timeless legacy. They're definitely worth a try for those who appreciate both fashion and functional design.

I've been rocking these Azzedine Alaïa sunglasses for a while now, and let me tell you, they're a game-changer. The oversized round frames are not only stylish but also great at shielding my eyes from the sun. And speaking of sun, these bad boys come with 100% UV protection, so you don't have to worry about those pesky rays.
The case and cleaning cloth that come with the package are a nice touch, too. They keep your glasses safe and clean when you're not wearing them. The only downside? They can be a bit heavy on the nose, but I guess that's the price you pay for style and protection. All in all, these Aaliyah sunglasses are a fantastic addition to any wardrobe.

🔗Azzedine Alaïa AA0034S Sunglasses - UV Protection, Grey Lenses

https://preview.redd.it/a2e2qw4tl34d1.jpg?width=720&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=3c816e5508685ede16e8bf135a6056e572125709
I've had the pleasure of wearing these Azzedine Alaïa AA0034S sunglasses, and let me tell you, they're a real treat. The shiny black frame and solid grey lens make for a sleek and chic look, perfect for my everyday style. One of the standout features is the 100% UV protection, keeping my eyes shielded from the sun's harsh rays. The tinted lenses are a welcome addition, making them even more practical for outdoor activities.
I also appreciate the option to replace the lenses, adding an extra layer of convenience. The cloth and case included are a thoughtful touch, ensuring my sunglasses stay in pristine condition. Made in Italy, these glasses exude a refined and sophisticated quality, perfectly embodying the Azzedine Alaïa brand. All in all, I'm thoroughly impressed with these sunglasses and would highly recommend them to anyone looking for a stylish and functional pair.

As someone who recently tried on the Azzedine Alaïa AA0058S 003 53 - Red Sunglasses, I must admit, they left quite the impression. The sleek oval frame shape, combined with the studded accents at the temple, gave them a chic, sophisticated vibe. However, the size might be a bit too large for those with smaller faces, although they're comfortable once you find the right fit.
What really stood out was the 100% UV protection and solid lenses, which kept my eyes safe from harmful rays and the glare. As a bonus, the case and cleaning cloth included ensure easy care and storage. This designer piece brings elegance and functionality together in one pair of sunglasses.

I recently had the chance to try on a pair of Azzedine Alaïa AA0065S 001 Grey Sunglasses, and let me tell you, the experience was a mix of elegance and comfort. The shining light grey frame, combined with the shiny silver studs, gave a sophisticated yet edgy look, making it perfect for a day out or a night on the town. The recycled acetate frame felt smooth and sturdy in my hands, and the gradient grey lenses provided excellent UV protection and a clear view of my surroundings.
However, I also noticed a slightly more minor issue: the shape was a bit square for my face, and I had to adjust the fit several times to find one that suited me best. Nevertheless, the sunglasses' craftsmanship, modern aesthetic, and feminine vibe made it a worthwhile addition to my collection.
In conclusion, these Azzedine Alaïa sunglasses embody the perfect blend of luxury and practicality, making them a standout choice for any fashion-forward individual.

Last week, I decided to give the Azzedine Alaïa AA0067S 001 Silver Grey Sunglasses a shot. These stylish sunglasses feature a shiny silver metal frame and black leather cover-bridge with a petal cut-out design. The gradient grey lenses provide excellent clarity, making them a perfect addition to my daily wardrobe. On a brisk afternoon, I paired them with a sundress and strappy heels, feeling both chic and comfortable in my new accessory.
The frame is a full rim style, which I appreciated for the added durability and snug fit. The aviator shape and 62-11-140 size were ideal for my head, but the sunglasses may not be the best fit for those with larger or smaller heads. One of the standout features of the sunglasses was the meticulous craftsmanship, showcasing Alaïa's renowned timeless legacy. The smooth acetates and couture-inspired embellishments truly make these sunglasses a work of art.
While I can't deny the quality and sophistication of these sunglasses, I must admit that the AA0067S 001 Silver Grey Sunglasses do come with a slightly higher price tag. This may deter some potential buyers, who would be better suited for a more budget-friendly option. Overall, I thoroughly enjoyed wearing these sunglasses, and their stylish yet timeless design has certainly earned a place in my collection.

The round lenses, combined with the dotted pattern detail, give off an air of sophistication and elegance. One of the standout features is the lightweight nature of the sunglasses, which made them comfortable and hassle-free to wear throughout the day.
The adjustable nose pads were a nice touch, ensuring a secure and comfortable fit. However, one downside was that I do wish the case and cloth had been included with the purchase. Overall, I would highly recommend these sunglasses for anyone seeking a stylish and functional pair of shades.

The Pètal, an iconic code, added a unique and distinctive signature to these sunglasses. I appreciate the four silver petal studs carefully applied on the front. Beveled acetate provided volume and boldness without compromising comfort.
While I enjoyed the stylish features of these sunglasses, I did notice that they didn't have any mirrored or polarized lenses, which might be a downside for some users under bright sunlight or driving conditions. What stood out to me, though, is the solid brown lens that filters out 100% of harmful UV rays, protecting my eyes from the sun's harsh glare.
The sunglasses feature a square full rim shape that fits comfortably on my face, while also making a statement about my style. The Azzedine Alaïa brand is known for its originality and quality, and these sunglasses definitely carry that reputation forward.

The oversized frame adds a touch of elegance, while the solid lenses offer great 100% UV protection. It's always a boon that these sunglasses are made from Acetate, making them lightweight and stylish.

Buyer's Guide

Welcome to our Aaliyah Sunglasses Buyer's Guide! Here, we will discuss important features to consider, general advice, and helpful tips when choosing your perfect pair of Aaliyah Sunglasses. Whether you're a fan of the late artist or simply appreciate her style, these sunglasses offer a unique blend of fashion and function.

1. Style and Design

Aaliyah was known for her edgy and chic style, so it's important to choose sunglasses that reflect this. Some popular designs include the Aaliyah Duckboot Sunglasses and the Aaliyah Butterfly Sunglasses. The style and design of the sunglasses will also play a role in how well they fit your face shape and complement your features. Consider factors like frame shape, lens shape, and color when making your selection.

2. Fit and Comfort

Aaliyah Sunglasses should not only look great but also feel comfortable on your face. Narrow frames, for example, may not be comfortable for those with wide faces, while wider frames could be too bulky for narrow faces. Pay attention to the materials used in the sunglasses, as well, as some may be more breathable and lightweight than others. In general, well-fitted sunglasses should not slide or pinch when worn.

3. UV Protection

Sunglasses must offer adequate UV protection to protect your eyes from harmful UV rays. Look for sunglasses that have a UV rating of at least 400, which covers the full spectrum of UV rays. This will help maintain eye health and prevent age-related eye damage such as cataracts and macular degeneration.

4. Polarization

Polarized lenses can be a great feature for those who spend time outdoors or in environments with glare. These lenses reduce glare and reflective light, improving your comfort and safety. They can also enhance visual clarity and make it easier to see in bright sunlight or around water.

https://preview.redd.it/bopv0nwxl34d1.jpg?width=720&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=c37a0f09393bd6c6968c4b0162c65d6ceb7a81b4

5. Frame Material

Aaliyah Sunglasses come in a variety of materials, including plastic, metal, and acetate. Each has its pros and cons. Plastic frames are typically lightweight and affordable, but some may not be as durable as metal frames. Metal frames offer a more sophisticated look but can be heavier and more expensive. Acetate frames are known for their durability and elegant appearance but can be heavier and more expensive as well.

6. Lens Options

Different lenses offer varied benefits depending on your needs. For example, sunglasses with mirrored or gradient lenses can help reduce glare and protect your eyes from additional light during outdoor activities. Polarized lenses are ideal for driving or sports, as they reduce glare and provide better contrast. Transition lenses change automatically from clear indoors to dark outdoors, offering a convenient option for those who prefer not to switch between multiple pairs of sunglasses.

7. Accessories and Maintenance

To ensure your Aaliyah Sunglasses stay in optimal condition, consider purchasing a protective case and cleaning cloth. These accessories will protect the sunglasses from damage and maintain their appearance over time. In terms of maintenance, clean your sunglasses regularly using a gentle solution designed for eyewear. Avoid using abrasive materials or cleaning solutions that may cause damage.

8. Budget and Shopping Considerations

While Aaliyah Sunglasses can be purchased at various price points, it's essential to consider the balance between quality, style, and cost. Higher-priced sunglasses generally offer better materials, construction, and features, although this may not always be the case. Be sure to read customer reviews and compare different options to ensure you're making an informed decision. You may also consider purchasing from authorized retailers to ensure authenticity.

9. Customer Support and Policies

Before making a purchase, be sure to review the retailer's customer support policies and return or exchange options. A reliable retailer should offer straightforward and helpful policies that put the customer's needs first.

2024.06.02 07:56 TheMintyLeaf 29F: Can clearing your throat often cause sickness? Not sure if I was already getting sick or caused it today.

So today I was "sucking up" phlegm from my throat and I did it when my throat felt dry (just finished coffee and didnt drink water right after). It was a hot sunny day too so I felt a bit dry. I felt something stuck a bit and decided to clearmy throat.
Well it hurt but I did get something else out instead of phlegm. I guess i sucked up so hard that I got a tonsil stone out. Which is great cause i didnt know i had some but now my throat feels dry and achey a bit. I have been dri king water and it still feels super dry hours later. Now idk if I have an upcoming sore throat.
The reason I question if I was getting sick was because my kids caught a cold 2 weeks ago. They're already over it a week ago. So I wasn't sure if I already caught it and the symptoms are coming now, or I just caused my own sore throat just now coincidentally.
If it helps, I did blow my nose in the morning (as usual with allergies) and there was less boogers, yet stickier? It feels like my nose is drier than usual to the point it feels stingy?

2024.06.02 07:51 BlitheCynic Significance of Art History to [Character's] Story Line

So I just finally finished LF a few days ago (after rotting on the library waitlist for months!), and I was really pleasantly surprised by the way Tanaka was written. Now part of that is just that I'm a big sucker - as both a reader and a writer - for taking apart characters who are irredeemable bastards and seeing what makes them tick. I was really curious to see other fans' takes on her, and it looks like she was pretty polarizing as a POV characters - some of you guys, like me, really loved to hate her (and maybe even dip a tentative toe into feeling sorry for her), and some of you just plain hated her (and that's fine - some people prefer being able to like their POV characters. I'm not one of those people) or thought her chapters were boring (what book were you reading?). However, I haven't seen anyone really say much about the significance of her interest in (love of, really) art and art history. So I wanna talk a little about that.
The takes I've seen have largely come down to either, "It didn't fit with her character and felt really random," which I'm about to disagree with HARD, or "It served as a device to show that there was more to her that meets the eye, and that she could have gone down a completely different path." This one, I agree with, but I also think there's a lot more to it.
(1) So let's talk about why art history specifically. Why not something else seemingly 180 degrees away from being a Marine, like gardening or culinary science? As an artist who takes myself unapologetically seriously, I have had a lot of conversations with an artist friend of mine lately about the intimacy of art. Art is both an expression of individuality and a vehicle of profound, often terrifying, connection. The former is what Tanaka regards as the core of her being, while the latter is anathema to her. She is drawn to art precisely because it exists in a space of tension between her comfort zone and her deepest fears. It is the razor edge that she loves to walk.
I've said before that I think of art as a form of telepathy - you are trying to capture something inside your own mind and externalize it in a way that it is transmitted into the mind of another person. When Tanaka begins experiencing this very literally in a manner she can't control, it's her worst nightmare. But she loves art because it is a version of this that she can control. It's an outlet for her to fulfill the fundamentally human need for connection when it's never been safe (both literally and psychologically) for her to do so through any other means. She learned that as a child when she sought a hug and got a slap in the face instead.
A number of the art pieces she contemplates are emotionally intense. The Third Miko in particularly is memorable because it is a heavy piece, full of vulnerability and grief and dread. These are the kinds of pieces that not only did the artist have to rip themselves open and pour their soul into in order to produce, but the audience is required to do the same to some extent in order to fully experience them. Turning soul-crushing sadness into usable rage isn't alchemy - it's more like a refinement process; it takes a lot of energy, and there is a lot of waste runoff that still has to go somewhere. For Tanaka, that's where it goes. That's the safe place to put it. Inside of someone else's pain, where no one will ever know it's yours.
(2) The other thing I wanted to talk about hinges on a "blink and you miss it" detail that, for me at least, completely reframed the whole picture regarding the "two roads diverged" aspect of Tanaka's life, and that's the casually dropped revelation that she never actually had a choice in the first place. The way this was written, I'm absolutely certain it was a very deliberate choice by JSAC to undermine the assumptions we as readers had been previously led to make.
The "two roads" framing comes up explicitly three times in the book. The first time is in Chapter 24: "Tanaka hadn’t thought about that painting in decades, or about what a very different life she would have lived if she’d made a few different decisions at the start." The next mention is in Chapter 31, when Dr. Ahmadi is reviewing Tanaka's file. She says, "You refused an advanced scholarship in order to enlist." Both of these references frame it very explicitly as a choice. But then, a few pages later, it's revealed that it actually wasn't: "If Aunt Akari had let her study art history instead of enlisting in active service, where would she be right now? And who would be tracking down the high consul? What else—how many thousands of other things—would be different?" (emphasis mine).
This detail and the way it was just slipped in there actually made me feel terribly sad for her because it reveals that this was, in fact, never where she wanted to be at all. This is more a matter of interpretation, but my takeaway was that the whole thing about her preferring a repressive society might be less the truth and more of a narrative she tells herself because she has spent her entire life deprived of any kind of real agency. It's true that someone who has never experienced life outside a pressure cooker environment might rapidly decompress like a blobfish upon being removed from it (I'm reminded of the memoir The Girl With Seven Names, where the author's mother and brother can't adapt to life outside of North Korea and want to go back), but that's less about being naturally well-suited to it and more about being deeply and maybe irreversibly maladapted.
When Tanaka tells herself she loves life under the boot because it gives her something to push back against, she's making the best of a bad situation by pretending her lack of agency is actually just a really sophisticated form of agency. It's because the only love she has ever known is the threat of consequences, with the only realistic alternative being complete apathy. It's the same mentality that makes abuse victims blame themselves - because, in some ways, the version of events where you were totally helpless and at the mercy of other people and a cold, uncaring universe is more distressing than the version where you brought it upon yourself through your own choices and actions. Wanting (and presumably asking her aunt's permission) to study art history, only to be forced to enlist in the marines instead is just another variation of her reaching for a hug and getting a slap. But if someone cares enough to slap you in the face, at least that means they care, right? "Laconia would put two in the back of my head because they care about what I think and do" is still a nicer story than "Laconia would put two in the back of my head because I'm nobody and nothing and completely disposable to them." It also made me wonder what was meant earlier by "if she’d made a few different decisions at the start." What does she tell herself she could have done differently to change a fate that was never in her hands to begin with?
TL;DR Tanaka loves art because it's the only way she can safely experience human connection, and it's implied she actually would have chosen to study art history if her aunt hadn't forced her to enlist.

2024.06.02 07:46 AmyHCTZ How do you keep intrusive disturbing and ruminating thoughts tamped down in your mind?

I’ll start by saying that I am undiagnosed, but I do have a referral in for a psych evaluation. I’ve had disturbing intrusive thoughts for as long as I can remember. I have also always had ruminating thoughts, mostly about things I should have done in the past instead of the embarrassing, terrifying, or awful thing that happened to me or that I actually did. I run scenarios through my mind like little movies. I have an inner monologue that is quite chatty. Sometimes they are things that I am preparing myself for- like watching a dress rehearsal for my day at work and working through every possible scenario. What am I going to do if I walk into my office and it’s all packed up and I’m fired? What if my boss finds out I did this or that, how many different ways can I explain myself? In case a client decides to yell at me that day, how many different ways could that scenario play out? And how many different ways can I respond that won’t get me in trouble? Sometimes they are things that could happen- like a loved one dying-and all the different ways that could happen, and every possible way that I would handle it. I think about myself dying, and how many different ways that could happen. Sometimes my “movies” are pretty out there. Like- What if someone comes into my house while I’m at work and steals my pets? Or someone poisons the pet food? What if my spouse is a secret serial killer? How many people have they cheated on me with or do they have a secret side family or secret fetish? And then they find out that I know about it. I think about how some people will randomly poison or put bodily fluids into random items in a grocery store. (Side note: I will not consume anything without a tight seal. If I open something, then forget that I opened it, I will throw it away in case it was tampered with.) I really have to tamp my thoughts down when eating outside of my home or I would never eat anything I haven’t made myself completely from scratch with dishes that I thoroughly washed myself AND ran through the dishwasher. But that’s a whole other story- besides ruminating and disturbing intrusive thoughts, I do have a moderate fear of germs, contamination and loud noises. (I am very jumpy)- and if my routine is uprooted or changed in any way, I can go from slightly disturbed to utterly devastated. I pick at my scalp so much that I have sores on my head and I am on level 14,000 of a sorting/matching game that I find soothing. I could go on and on but this post is already long enough. Back to tamping down my thoughts. My mind rarely “turns off” but when I’m at work, or engaging in things that I am hyper-fixated on (right now it is watching/listening to conspiracy theory and comedy podcasts along with sorting games/apps), It’s hard to explain, but I can “move” the thoughts to one side of my mind while simultaneously using the other side to go about my daily activities. But they are ALWAYS there. Sometimes they try to sneak to the other side of my mind and take over and sometimes I do indulge in those thoughts and spend a few moments watching my mind movies, but I can usually push them back to their own side. But how do I tamp them down when I can’t keep them corralled to their own side? Or maybe a better question would be: how can I turn those thoughts completely off so I can feel normal for once? I think I’m looking for support, advice, and reassurance that I am not alone- that there are others who feel the same way and struggle with the same things and how they cope with all of it. Thanks for reading.

2024.06.02 07:36 tieflingspellsword Newbie party, newbie DM, and poor planning, mean I'm left as the odd one out

(Likely throw-away account because I don't want to associate this with my main, but I'll keep an eye out for replies anyway.)
Heads up: This is already getting pretty long, and I'm just starting, so...
I'm not sure this is truly all that horrific, but it sucked in the moment, at least.
So; small bit of backstory: this was like... I want to say 3 years ago? just a year or two into the pandemic. A couple people I know had a friend that offered to DM for DnD for the first time; and none of us had played DnD before. One of the two was super excited about it, because she'd just recently (at the time) gotten into Critical Role. The other was also super excited, because he was just interested in the game in a general sense (they're currently playing semi-weekly with an online group, really glad this didn't ruin the game for them).
I didn't feel as enthused; I was going to give it a shot (I'd had a couple of interesting ideas before then, but I honestly think I'd have a better (though still not great) time as the DM), but I didn't see myself even finishing the campaign, at first.
Then I got into character creation, and my muse started bouncing off the walls with ideas.
I ended up going with a Tiefling fighter (I forget what his name was, but I'll call him... Kamdo), for the sake of ease of use, and learning the game, while also providing the DM with opportunities to have fun with character interactions.
Kamdo's backstory was pretty sparse, but I didn't want to overwhelm the DM, considering I was an aspiring author (and still am, truth be told), and even as little as I wrote (barely two paragraphs) was like... 3 times as much as every other player, and probably the total length of every other character on the board for our first party.
One of these people ended up playing a half-elf... Sorcerer, I think? I honestly don't remember much of that character. (her name was some poetic thing about song, so I'll call her Sonata)
The other ended up playing a... I think it was a human druid? he was a fairly forgettable character, beings as he hardly ever spoke up. (I think his name was Renald?)
The DM played a dwarven... Paladin? yeah, that sounds right. (I'll call her Barryl)
Now, at the time, I didn't know that DMPCs even had a name, let alone a reputation, so I didn't even have the context to think to protest. Though, even now, I don't think they can't be done well, just that this one didn't even come close (not that I'd know, mind).
Anyway, session 1 comes along, and our characters meet for the first time; barely any real roleplay- the thing I was most looking forward to, but that's forgivable, I figure; beings that our group was made up of a new DM, and all newbie party. 'It's probably not that strange', I figured (my hind brain is much more socially aware than my front brain).
Now; important note: I'm not very personable in... person (I probably could've worded that better, but it's not coming to me right now). I don't like talking, I don't like people, I have severe social anxiety (my hands shake while in front of a cashier), and I've met the DM all of like 4 times, each for maybe 3 minutes, up to this point.
It was never going to be easy for me to act like a personable character, so instead I leaned into my natural quietness. Kamdo was an orphan from a nondescript village nestled in the foothills of a mountain, and spent much of his life as a librarian to earn a living, while dealing with the racism of a small town (the only bit of anything weird I gave his backstory was that said town had zero information on magic, despite having a relatively large library).
Eventually, he gets sick of living there, and decides to train under the town guardsmen, before taking off into the wilds on his first adventure!
The first major obstacle out party faced was... a door. I wish I was kidding.
The first thing that happened was that someone tried to pick the door open. Then someone kicked it. Both failed, beings as the rolls were something like 7, 8, and 5, or something. On a D20. I did the natural thing, and just reached over to open the door (this is semi-important later). It doesn't budge.
I shrug, and, figuring that my character, being decked out head-to-toe in plate armor, two pole-arms, and a heavy shield, could break the thing down. Kamdo got a running start, just to be sure, and charged!
Nat 20.
Kamdo breaks down the door, full tilt, and runs face first into some nasty webbing. Well, Sonata irritatedly extracts Kamdo from the webbing, while Berryl and Renald clear out the rest of the room.
The entire campaign is to this roughly this tune.
So, at the end of this dungeon, there's a Drider encounter (I glanced at the stat sheet one time, and ever since, I've been wondering how the DM intended for us to win that encounter), which ends in the thing falling off the ceiling, and promptly taking half its health in damage. Kamdo ended up finishing it off with a pitying thrown dagger, which he had collected from an earlier room.
The entire thing was pretty comedic, and overall rather fun, but I was already beginning to see the cracks. I had a bad habit of 'making sure' the right dice were rolled for the right checks, and was well and truly bored during combat. I just... It had its moments, but I kept spacing out, waiting for my turn, resulting in Kamdo attacking an already downed opponent. It wasn't great.
But, I figured I'd stick it out for the long haul (at the time), for the sake of the other players.
Fast forward 2 fucking sessions of walking, and we're coming up on Baludur's Gate.
Now, quick thing (I'm sorry, this is how my brain works, bare with me please): the DM had been hyping up Baldur's Gate both in- and out- of game for a month by this point. She couldn't wait for us to get there.
But first, I got the sniffles, and self isolated, thereby missing a session, but trusted my mother to play my character adequately in the meantime.
When I came back, nobody bothered to fill me in, and I was dumped into the middle of a combat scenario, against a hoard of Evil Dudes. I didn't even know what species they were, nevermind why we were fighting them.
Just "So, roll initiative!" From the DM to start the session.
'Fuckin', okay then.' I figure to myself, saying nothing aloud.
I had no idea what was going on the entire session, but apparently, we won! (yay?)
So, after the combat encounter was over, I finally got some context, because people were talking to each other now. Apparently, the same Drider that I killed back in session 2? 3? was back at it, with a hoard of cultists to back it up.
Now I'm reall confused, because, well... Duh! WTF was even going on here? I distictly remember killing that thing, yet here we are, fighting its cultist minions! Just... whatever, I eventually let it go, because I was on the recieving end of some equally confused looks, like obviously the Drider that we had no business fighting was back, who else would it be?
Fuckin-
Whatever.
So, our little mottley crew runs into a couple NPCs who are leaving the city (it's a city right? I'm not misremembering that?). They tell us about how the guards put one of their friends in prison for no good reason, and there's a person in the wizard's guild that might be able to help us with Sonata's character quest!
'Cool!' I think! 'Some real nice Roleplay could come out of this; my character's looking to multiclass into wizard; it'll be a neat diversion, and I'll have some fun playing this character that I haven't had any real fun with yet!'
NOPE!
The other players decide that they're going to help break out these two random people's friend from prison!
Why, you may ask?!
...
...
...
So, we make it into the city, and the first thing the party does is, guess what?!
Break a convicted felon out of prison!
They didn't even wait to go shopping first!
Now; I'm absolutely flabbergasted by this point. Hopefully, understandably so.
So; the party breaks the convicted felon out of prison, and immediately makes for the docks; apparently one of the now 3 4(! fucking) DMPCs 'has a friend'.
Deep breaths.
So, we go off into the waters, having spent all of 1 real-life hour in Baldur's Gate "The place where everything happens." - direct quote from the DM.
During this boat ride, one of the DMPCs gives old Kamdo (He's somehow the oldest character in the party at a whopping 32) a spell shield (mirror shield? it was a shield that had advantage blocks against magic). I look down at my level (5, I think?) fighter, and just kind of cringe, since my AC is like 24 already, and with this new shield it jumped to like 26. Kamdo is untouchable without an advantage roll.
So, naturally, we fight a goddamn Sea monster next (one more monster we really shouldn't have fought) but we pulled it off... somehow.
Now I was incredibly bored, and the DM seemed to pick up on that, having me try to train Renald. Kamdo did that, and 2 sessions later we finally made it back to land.
Directly into Sonata's character quest.
Guess what we fought while we were there?
A fucking level 15 Lich.
Said lich TPKs us. It hit Kamdo Through his magic advantage sheild, and one shot him.
That was the last straw for me. I had Sonata's player play Kamdo's arc to fruition, and left. (He ended up settling on an island in book heaven, with Sonata pining after him, for anyone interested.)
I haven't played DnD since.
Honestly, I kinda-sorta feel bad; because the campaign fizzled out not long after I left. I can't help but wonder what would've happened if I'd still stuck it out.
I sincerely hope you all had more fun reading this than I had experiencing it, because I just don't trust fast, and that means I don't have anyone I'd even be interested in playing with anymore.

2024.06.02 07:20 Bioengineered_001 Crazy excited. Maybe just excitably crazy. You judge, please!

After much research (here and online), close observation of personal symptoms / experiences and some hypothesized scenarios I may have a solution for at least a few physical symptoms that appear on the surface of our bodies.
I am not a doctor.
Background: I initially thought MD was alien in origin, but I gave that idea up because only crazy people believe in aliens. ;-)
Then I considered that it could be an ancient plague from days of old, but the study of children from 3 centuries ago (in England?) did not include the terrible symptoms many suffer today. So what we have today is relatively recent...
1) in researching this stuff I've found there are flesh dwelling fleas in the middle and far east mostly associated with dust, mold and fungi.
2) there are also studies examining the development (read weaponization) of parasitic fleas.
3) then I learned of graphine oxide. Wicked stuff that actually resembles small hairs, can activate with water and electricity and can be programmed...
So in my humble opinion this sh!t is a man-made 'kill-switch.' But to what purpose? Surely something so contagious and physically debilitating would not be released by anyone. What would be the point if everyone dies? Not even tree-huggers or globalist are that dedicated to depopulization.
So there must be a ready remedy that is available in most war-time scenarios. A remedy available to enemy combatants.
Salt is one natural remedy that offers some relief. Vitamin C is another. Sulfur is another. And then there is light...
I came to understand that this stuff is not a fan of light. The bright lights of medical facilities likely explain why doctors can't see what is troubling us just below the skin. I figured this out when I felt something moving around on an overcast day. When my flash went off prior to the camera focusing, the wyrm simply disappeared. This stuff is photophobic! In our bodies it becomes relatively inactive under bright light. Actually it hides.
Then I saw the thread about red light therapy.
I am not a doctor. This is simply my experience.
Not living near a red-light district and having no red light bulbs, I grabbed a small key chain laser.
When I moved the laser across the skin it felt as if I was brushing the surface with a soft thin brush. But I could only feel the sensation in places that had the wyrms. Another halucination? Nope.
To my astonishment when I pointed the laser at a small black sore (one of many much larger spots on my hand) for a brief period it seemed to fade. Unbelieving I hit the spot again for another brief moment. The spot scraped off with my finger nail with just a little pressure!
Then I tried one of the many tracks these wyrms use / leave when they move. The track disappeared! Seriously. Simply moving the laser back and forth along the track virtually eliminated it from observation.
When I tried the technique on a larger (more infested) spot the things immediately turn on the clear slime and when that fails they begin to move away.
The clear slime is not effective against the intense LIGHT of the laser! Additionally the laser is strong enough to penetrate slightly below the surface of the skin; right where this sh!t lives.
(To help contain the movement away from the laser I use a mixture of antibiotic ointment and OTC Sore Throat spray containing phenol. Applied liberally and frequently AROUND the infected area keeps the buggers in place.)
Your results may vary. I suggest trying the technique on spots not readily visible until you get an idea what the results are.
This method may be effective on the extremely fragile and tender skin of the face.
I have tried both red and blue lasers with similar results.
So, if inclined, give it a try.
No need to comment (though I enjoy reading everyone's posts and comments).
A simple 'up-vote' if it works for you. A 'down-vote' if it doesn't.
Call me crazy, but I sure hope it helps at least a few!
God bless!

2024.06.02 07:10 Tricky-Letter8080 Do you ever get numbness around your nose?

My head and neck are so messed up from horrible posture. I have forward head posture really bad.
Sometimes I must strike a nerve in my neck the wrong way because my face will go numb from time to time and my nose will feel tingly for a while.

2024.06.02 07:09 TheAbsoluteBread Project Octopath Traveler 3: Oukirii the Hunter, Chapter 2

Hey Everyone! I came to realize pretty quickly that I did not have as much of this chapter planned out as I thought I did. Which explains why it took a little long to come out, but in the end I managed to create something that I was satisfied with. You may notice one key change, being that Oukirii’s Companion no longer has a defined name! You’re free to name it whatever you wish.
(Completed Chapter 2s: Thearnt, Taland, Pascal, Harmony, Crowson, Asherah, Oukirii)
Next Chapter 2: Orlando the Starseer
Oukirii the Hunter, Chapter 2: Recommended Level 26
——————
(The Journey So Far…)
Events along Oukirii’s first hunt created damage in her family.
Her father came to realize that she had no intention of become a strong hunter on her own.
Even if she knew that, Oukirii couldn’t answer the question “Then what do you want to be?”
One evening, she had a dream of world’s destruction. A prophet came by the following day and told her of the beasts she saw that night.
Oukirii volunteered to hunt the beasts down, in hopes that this journey would reveal her true purpose to her…
Oukirii and Her Companion set foot in Evercold. The first thing Oukirii notes is the cold air of the snowy region. “You alright boy?” She crouches down and pets her companion on the head. It makes a joyful cry. “Hansel should be around here right?” Oukirii continues “He probably knows where we should go to look for Snow Gem!”
She takes a few steps forward, “This town is— very different from Oakbright…” Oukirii looks down. “Alright, Let’s go find Hansel!”
You’d be prompted to look for Hansel
“Heave Ho Suzie!” Someone’s voice calls out. Blanche, the owner of the Beast Ranch would be pulling on a large wagon filled with heavy crates. She’d look over at Oukirii.
(Blanche’s Dialogue will change depending on if you’ve visited the ranch prior. “You look familiar”/”Who’re you? A hunter?”)
Blanche would go on to explain that she’s here to pick up supplies. She notices Oukirii’s companion and hands her a bag of food before grabbing onto the wagon again. Suzie would give Oukirii a nod as they leave.
As Oukirii puts away the bag, She notices Hansel standing near the path that Blanche and Suzie went along. Oukirii runs over to Hansel and tells him that she’s ready to take on Snow Gem.
Hansel is glad to hear it. He would tell Oukirii that this beast has been terrorizing the citizens of Evercold for a long time. “Hunting Snow Gem is not only important for our own sun-saving mission. It’s for the relief of all these people right here.”
“Well I’ll have to do my best then!”
“I believe in you Oukirii. I really do.”
Oukirii would walk away from Hansel and you’d head further into town. Oukirii suddenly hears the sound of someone shouting “No, Not again!” Her companion points his nose in the direction of the shouting and a curious Oukirii runs over to find a girl standing outside of her home. She asks if something’s wrong and the girl tells her that she lost a book she borrowed from the town’s library.
Oukirii volunteers to help look, the girl just laughs loudly “It’s nowhere I can find, best of luck to you kid!”
“Hey!” Oukirii shouts. “I’ll find that book… Just you wait…”
Before leaving, she asks for the girl’s name. She answers “Valerie, why do you need to know?” Oukirii says that it’s just in case she wrote her name in the book. “Suppose I– Fair point?” Valerie responds.
You’d Entreat Valerie’s Book from a customer by Evercold’s Night Market.
Oukirii returns to Valerie and hands her the book. Valerie acts surprised as she flips through the pages. She sighs and puts the book away, saying she needs a tea break, she invites Oukirii to join. Sheaccepts and the two would enter Valerie’s home.
Oukirii’s companion lies down on the floor. Valerie apologizes for acting like she did, and Oukirii forgives her immediately. She notices some tools on the wall and asks what those are for. Valerie says those are for her toolsmithing job. However, she wonders if that job is something even worth continuing. “Just doesn’t feel like my ‘right thing’.”
Oukirii gets to thinking. Being so young, she doesn’t fully understand what Valerie is saying. But she gets a better understanding by connecting it to finding her own purpose. It's hard to tell if she did the “right thing” by fleeing to complete this mission…
A Flashback occurs, A young Oukirii sits waiting in the living room while her mother and father try to make her look her best. The door opens, and somebody walks inside. Antànor Solana, Oukirii’s Grandfather. Dimitrius happily greets him, Antànor doesn’t say anything, But does the same to his son. He shakes Catalina’s hand and pats Oukirii on the head while facing away from her. He and Dimitrius walk forward, chatting about their hunts. Oukirii tries to shout something to her grandfather, but he doesn’t hear her…
After she and Valerie finish talking, Oukirii says that she’s off to hunt a beast. She describes Snow Gem to Valerie, who says “I’ve never heard of anything like that before…” Valerie tells Oukirii to wait up and grabs a hatchet from the wall, she says that she’ll be coming to hunt this thing too. She won’t let someone like her fight a beast unsupervised.
Road to Deepshiver Cave, Danger Level 26
As Oukirii and Valerie walk, The ground begins to shake. They stop and stand still, Valerie asks “Did you feel that?” Oukirii wonders if the rumbling came from Snow Gem. Suddenly, the ground cracks underneath them. Sending Oukirii and her companion falling underground.
Oukirii is lying on the ground in a patch of snow. Her companion tries to wake her, Oukirii jolts up and looks around. “Thank the sun! Where’s Valerie?” Oukirii stands up after petting her companion. “This… Snow Gem… It must be…” She shakes her head.
Deepshiver Cave, Danger Level 27
Further into the cave, Oukirii would run into Valerie. Who is revealed to have taken the normal way in. Slightly further to the end of the tunnels, They get their first look at the “Snow Gem” beast. A large quadruped creature with blank eyes and a strong shell covered in ice and snow. Oukirii is shaken at the sight of it. Valerie calls out “What is that thing!?”
“Stand back Valerie!” Oukirii and her companion step up, ready to confront the beast. “This is what I was made for… I won’t let you bring destruction to this world! Come on Snow Gem– It’s all over now!!”
BOSS: Snowradillo
(Boost Dialogue: “Here goes nothing!”)
Valerie dashes in and finishes off the beast with a large chop. It creates a strong wind as it fades away into nothing… “We did it!” Oukirii quietly says “That’s one down…” Valerie asks if Oukirii is alright, She says that she doesn’t know and explains that “I… I wish I could have known more about it. They say a hunter is supposed to read the hearts of all creatures they hunt. But I… Is there something wrong… with me as a hunter…?”
“Read the heart of it or not, you hunted that thing like a champion! Maybe you’re not looking in the right place kid, you helped this town out! You could consider the idea of being a traveling hunter…”
“A traveling hunter?” Oukirii asks. She gives it some thought, before her companion reminds them that they need to head back to the Evercold.
In Evercold, Oukirii and Valerie run into Hansel again. Oukirii tells him of the good news, and asks “Does it matter now if we take down the other two? That dream had three of them together, if one is gone then–”
“It doesn’t work that way Oukirii…” Hansel replies “Destruction could still spell even if only one was still around… Our mission was to take down all three. The next target will be Red Spirit, I’ve found this creature to be in Redwater.”
Oukirii accepts to continue the mission and keep seeking her purpose. She and her companion excitedly leave town towards the next adventure.
Hansel and Valerie watch as they leave. Valerie says “I hope she finds her purpose out there. But there’s something I don’t quite understand. She seems like she doesn’t want to be strong. But then, why accept a mission that requires her to fight powerful monsters?”
“She wants to prove herself capable, and it’s a job only she can do. I’m grateful that she did accept, Otherwise the fate of the world might still be uncertain…”
(Ending Text)
Oukirii succeeds in her hunting of the first beast. Snowradillo of Evercold.
Two monsters remain as a threat to the world.
She keeps her heart optimistic, yet still finds herself troubled. With no definite answer to the question of her purpose…
With the guidance of the sun, Oukirii sets out to Redwater.
And prepares for a confrontation with Red Spirit…

2024.06.02 07:00 AuroraScars AITA For How This Relationship Ended?

I (29F) was in a 7/8month relationship last year and I'm just trying to process what the heck happened bc he (25M) made it seem like I'm the asshole and I'd like to know if I am, so I can work on it and not carry it over to future relationships.
It started with a reckless night. I'm studying overseas and he and I met on a d&d discord server. He happened to live where I was going so we planned to meet and he offered to help me with my first day of getting stuff done. We'd been close friends by the 5th month of me being there. I had just ended an online relationship that was overwhelming me and my family was coming to visit so I took him on a fancy night out where I paid as like a thank you in advance for driving me and my family around when they visit thing. After dinner we went to his place and I - now recognise as mistakenly - allowed uh intimate activity bc I was vulnerable and he made the first move. And it just kept happening.
Eventually, he started to ask for more despite me saying that I didn't think I was ready for a relationship. And he pulled out an ultimatum - relationship or nothing. I was torn bc at that point he was my best friend, my closest friend, in a country where I had no family. So I gave in and agreed. He said I have to be willing to do the work on myself and our relationship bc I have a lot of issues. So I promised that I would put in the effort to work on myself and be better.
Now in retrospect, I recognize I was afraid of being abandoned. But at the time, I thought myself in love, and that he cared about my wellbeing so deeply. I mean, he did spend hours listening to me talk about all the pain and trauma I'd experienced. So he must have truly wanted me to heal.
But once we got together, we stopped going on dates. We'd hang out at his place, occasionally meet his friends. I usually didn't go out bc I'm more of a homebody - I enjoyed my private space and doing my solo things. Then things started to bother me.
Like the state of his home - you could barely see the floor, the kitchen was a disaster area. And he didn't even have a proper bed. But I'd acquiesce and make a random comment (not often, just sporadically).
I personally just don't drink bc I don't enjoy it like most people do and I don't enjoy taking care of people who are super drunk (I'll do it anyway bc no one else does it but it actually really bothers me and I kinda hate it)
I like PDA but I don't like extreme proclamations back to back to back.
My ex used to get drunk around his friends and throw affection my way. He had no control over his liquor and every 5 mins would yell out that he loves me. Then he'd get very clingy bc I get uncomfortable in big groups sometimes and I try to hide or get some space. I don't like being touched or kissed by someone who's drunk (or when I'm pissed at someone) and that always bothered him. The overaffection was just overwhelming and he had a body odour thing every time he drank which just made it worse bc my nose is sensitive. It just brewed like a sense of resentment bc I'd communicate it to him and he'd just claim I'm trying to control him but honestly, I'm just trying to tell you that it doesn't make me feel good and maybe it can be a thing you do without me around.
And everything started piling up and I was pissed but I wasn't ready to talk about it bc I know I was overwhelmed and I just needed to sort through the things to try and give myself perspective and decide if I was overreacting or if I had legitimate things to be mad about. But he kept badgering me over and over and over while I was still mad. And I tried to not explode (successfully) but he started getting mad at me when I had explicitly told him I'm not ready to talk about it.
(I can't remember specifically what happened after, but we had a big fight. A very big fight. And he wanted to pull the plug. All because I wasn't ready to talk about it bc I didn't want to fight over what could potentially be nothing)
Eventually, he forgave me when I apologized for... well I don't remember what I apologized for. And we were good. I made sure to cook food that he could pack and take to work if he was staying over. Helped him plan some finances. We talked about how the next year or so would go. I had a little mental health struggle but he urged me to see a doctor and such and asked me to get on birth control.
There was then, an incident, totally not his fault. We both got carried away. I had to be celibate for a month and we got heated and when he almost broke the celibacy, I had a breakdown. I didnt know that would be a trigger, but he went on a shame spiral and started getting upset with himself so I consoled him. And we were okay. Didn't really speak about it again after that.
He had arranged for me to join an in person d&d campaign with his friends and I had a hard time keeping up bc I had classes and assignments so I had to miss a few sessions. When I got there and played a session, I did something wrong and everyone - including him - were upset with me. I apologised for it and said I wouldn't repeat that. Two weeks later, we had the next session and his friends kept making comments about the previous session throughout the 4 hours we were playing and... it started to get to me. I lashed out and told them to build a bridge and get over it.
When my ex was dropping me home, I expressed that I didn't like being treated like that, my friends don't do that to me. And he got mad at me bc he said and I quote "You're not taking responsibility for what you did. They've made fun of so many embarrassing things I've done, you don't see me getting affected by it". I didnt immediately respond (also bc I don't remember what I said) I do remember thinking "You can accept that kind of abuse from your friends if you want to, it doesn't mean I have to". When I got out of the car, I just said I am upset but I love you and I'm really tired. I didnt give him a kiss that night.
(For context, that was a Friday night. He had spent the entire week at my place bc he was sick and didn't want to be alone so I was taking care of him and feeding him)
On Saturday (3 days before my lease ended and we'd agreed I would move in with him temporarily), he asked how my house hunting was going. I told him the market is crappy rn and I can't find a decent place but I'm trying to. He said you really need to focus on that right now. I told him I am and I'll update you if there's a place, I love you. And he couldn't say it back so he said we need to talk.
He said I told many small white lies (example: I cut my finger, I ask for a tissue - bc bleeding - he asks if I'm bleeding, I say no) and it was overwhelming him and exhausting him. He said he knew its bc of how I grew up but he had mentioned it before (I don't remember if he did but he could have and I forgot) and I didn't work on it like I was supposed to.
He said ( based on the argument on Friday about the d&d game ) that I didn't take accountability for my actions and he couldn't trust me bc it showed that I was an untrustworthy person.
I said let's sit together and talk about this, these are things I can work on, we can tackle them as a couple and talk through them.
He then said I just don't love you anymore. I've talked to my family and friends and I think I mistook what I felt for you and thought it was love.
I tried to fight for him but I knew that I can't make someone love me so I was heartbroken, almost homeless (if not for some friends that had a spare room) and I had an exam in 2 weeks.
He said there's no good time to break up with someone and I didnt wanna drag it out (which I suppose was his form of mercy)
Its taken a year to process... for me bc he blocked me from everything after I returned his stuff. And it made me feel like the asshole? Then I rationalised that I did everything I possibly could, but did I? Maybe I didn't address his needs well enough? Maybe I didn't listen to his concerns enough? Maybe there's more I could have done to make him feel secure or sure? Maybe I was too headstrong and it overshadowed him?
I keep going round and round about it in my head. My therapist says it wasn't a loving and caring relationship. But like I remember a time when it was? But I also remember feeling so exhausted by it. Was it my fault? Am I the asshole? What could I have done better?

Broke 60 lbs down this week, which feels amazing. Be doing a very low carb diet at 1200-1500 calories depending on if I lift. Doing heavy lifting every other day- think I’m in ketosis and that’s helping fuel the workouts.
I think the most startling thing to me is the new self confidence I feel when I look in the mirror. I feel masculine again. I also don’t feel like I’m the fat guy everyone is looking at when I enter a room anymore.
I used to feel so hopeless about losing the weight - and I was always trying, just never making meaningful progress. Now I’m excited to jump on the scale to see if I lost a little or gained a little, but overall knowing it’s headed in the right direction.

2024.06.02 06:55 mansplanar The 11 Best Bumble Prompts and How to Answer Them to Strategically Meet Your Match

Somewhere between 90 and 95% of openers I get are either "hi" or "hey." So literally anything else puts you sonewhere in the top 10%. Even "HEY ASSHOLE! would at least be memorable. So I wouldn't sweat it too much; the bar is set really low.
If you're really insistent, though, it's thd same sort of stuff women want in an opener, just with waaaayyyy less competition. And if you can somehow prove you're not a scammer while you're at it, even better.
The opener I start with is usually something easy to answer and invites a thoughtful response. Such as, "What is your go to karaoke song?" or "What's your favorite thing about living [insert city]"? or "What's your favorite way to spend a Sunday afternoon?"
I usually get the conversation started and then if he doesn't match my energy, I unmatch.
One of my favorite opening lines I got from a guy was “Hi there! Let me know what you think of the following:
A white picket fence house, a couple dogs, some nice cars, maybe a boat for weekend trips to the lake, and we can do that for about 5 years until you get sick of me. After that we divorce, I let you keep everything, and we’ll call it a good time!”
Made me laugh and for being an introvert who struggles immensely with conversation this helped relax me instantly.
The online dating world is vast, with a plethora of apps to choose from. However, according to a study by Statista, one outranks them all when it comes to finding love: Bumble. The app, known for letting women make the first move, has since expanded into a networking platform for building both friendships and professional connections. But if you’re still interested in using Bumble for its original intent, you might be wondering how to go about answering all those Bumble prompts, of which there are over 40 to choose from. Here, we’ve rounded up ten of the best Bumble prompts, plus example answers. So fill out that profile, pick your preferred zodiac sign to date (it’s Pisces, right?) and watch the notifications roll in—before you know it, you’ll be needing a spreadsheet to track all those dates.
How Do You Write a Good Bumble Prompt?
The best way to write a good Bumble prompt response is to be honest, specific and positive, according to experts. If you leave your profile generic (or worse, empty), you’re not giving dates enough information to work with so that they can start a conversation. So, focus on being clear about what you want (without being a negative nelly) and don’t be afraid to throw a little humor in there, too. After all, laugher is proven to help us relax, and when we feel at ease, we’re more comfortable sharing about ourselves and learning about others.
The Best Bumble Prompts and How to Answer Them
  1. Perfect First Date...
This Bumble prompt is a great way to let potential matches know what you’re expecting, so be specific. “Drinks” is not going to cut it. Instead, write out a little itinerary—it doesn’t have to be incredibly detailed, but it should give someone an idea of what you enjoy. Maybe it’s a picnic in a park. Perhaps you lean towards the classic dinner and a movie, or you love art museums, comedy clubs and bookstores.
What you can say:
Catching a flick (sci-fi or rom-com) followed by dinner at my favorite Italian restaurant in Los Angeles. If the sky is clear, we’d drive up to Griffith Park and have a little La La Land moment.
Picnic in Central Park and then a ride in a rowboat—you’re doing the rowing, of course. We’d top it off with ice cream and maybe a bookstore jaunt.
We’d eat our way through Smorgasburg in Brooklyn and then sit on the pier looking at the Manhattan skyline as the sun sets.
  1. I Get Way too Excited About...
Behavioral scientist and author Logan Ury advises that a successful dating profile makes it easy for someone to start a conversation with you. Use this prompt to talk about something you’re passionate about. Restaurant openings, golf, Bluey, painting, opera, rock climbing, cooking, Paris, Marvel...whatever you can’t stop talking about goes right here. Don’t worry about appealing to the masses—the right person, who might also love these things (or just love how much you love them), will come.
What you can say:
Paris in the springtime. I took a gap year there and love going every April to see the cherry blossoms, and one day I’d love to do a tour through Provence to see the lavender, too.
Rock climbing. I’m at the climbing gym at least twice a week and love going bouldering once a month with my club. If you haven’t seen Free Solo, you’re missing out.
Broadway shows. Every year, my dad and I spend a weekend in NYC marathoning every single musical we can get tickets for. I’ve seen Phantom of the Opera five times and yes, I’m crushed that it’s closing.
  1. A Pro and Con of Dating Me...
Stay away from the “beige flags” here. Ury has previously explained that beige flags are clichés, and the whole goal here is to stand out. So be honest and own both your pros and cons, all while finding a way to keep it lighthearted. Debbie-downers aren’t good first impressions.
What you can say:
Pro: I’m a great baker, so you’ll always have fresh-baked chocolate chip cookies. Con: I’m definitely a planner and being spontaneous can be hard, but I’m working on embracing last-minute adventure.
Pro: I’m on the pulse of the restaurant scene and always have great recs. Con: I can’t stand the MCU. (But I’ll make an occasional concession.)
Pro: I’ll never ask you to TikTok dance with me. Con: I can be slow replying to texts—but I’m working on it!
  1. A Non-Negotiable...
This Bumble prompt is important because it can be your deal breaker, however, avoid being super negative. We all have our icks, but as dating coach Lindsay O’Brien has told us, you don’t want to spiral on a list of things you don’t want, because it can imply emotional baggage. (That’s not a bad thing and a lot of us have it—it’s just not something you might want to spill in the “handshake” phase of dating.) Use this prompt to reveal qualities, values and even shared dreams/goals you’d like the person to have.
What you can say:
Great communicator.
You like and are conversational about art, books and travel.
You think living abroad for a few years sounds like an ultimate bucket-list adventure.
  1. My Real-Life Superpower Is...
This one can be a lighthearted icebreaker or a lean more serious. Whether it’s a quirky talent or your favorite quality about yourself, share it. Just, as noted above, stay away from the clichés.
What you can say:
Making conversation with strangers and putting them at ease.
Cooking for a crowd.
Somehow always managing to win the Broadway lottery.
  1. After Work You Can Find Me...
Here’s another Bumble prompt that can show not just your interests but how you spend your time. If you’re a budding cocktail connoisseur, maybe your future date will find you at the latest trendy opening in the city. If you love art, you might be taking advantage of museums’ free admissions nights before heading home. Tell potential matches how you want to spend your time, so you don’t waste time getting to know people who aren’t interested in those things.
What you can say:
Curled in bed with a book—I live for murder mysteries, Jane Austen and fantasy novels.
At a concert; I’m obsessed with alternative rock and country music.
Baking cookies while watching the latest season of The Bachelorette.
  1. I Promise I Won’t Judge You If...
Now is not quite the time to get serious with a heavy hitter, so use this prompt to get silly and show your sense of humor, while potentially revealing your own eccentricities in the process.
You totally trip over nothing on the sidewalk, because I do that at least three times a week.
You haven’t read Pride and Prejudice, as long as you promise to watch the Kiera Knightley version with me.
You have zero sense of direction. Me too.
  1. Favorite Quality in a Person...
Here’s a chance to cast a reel for the good traits you're looking for. Again, diving deep is key, so try to avoid things like “nice.” A lot of people and things are nice. Elaborate on what you want to see in a nice person.
What you can say:
The way he/she makes eye contact with the people they speak to, making them feel seen and heard.
Remembering important dates—birthdays, anniversaries—and celebrating them.
Prioritizing others’ needs first, while still having healthy boundaries.
  1. I’m a Great Plus One Because...
A lot of your answers to Bumble prompts will be serious. This one is a chance to be less so. Flaunt your funnier side and tell them why taking you to a company party, wedding, family or other social event will be a good time.
What you can say:
I’ll totally stick by you if you’re the wallflower.
I can talk about literally any subject.
My dance moves can’t be beat.
  1. A Review from a Friend...
We want to know what other people think, so now’s the time to reel in a friend and have them give you a review. It’s always interesting to see how we are perceived by others, and as your profile is filled with prompts that you’ve answered from your own perspective, calling in a review will give potential matches a look into who you are that highlights qualities you may have glossed over.
What you can ask your friend to talk about:
Your personality traits that they like.
A favorite memory together.
Five reasons they would date you.
  1. My Favorite Quality in a Person...
Time to pull out your dream list of a person’s best qualities and...ask for them. (Gasp!) As dating coach Lindsay O’Brien has previously told PureWow, it pays to be clear up front so that the right people can find you. Just make sure to keep it positive, because listing the negatives (ex. Someone who doesn’t [insert quality here]) can suggest relationship baggage. “For example,” she says, “If you don’t want someone who is sarcastic or critical, you can say, ‘A sweet guy makes my heart melt.’”
What you can say:
A sense of humor.
Planner extraordinaire.
Thoughtfulness.

2024.06.02 06:49 Cautious_League4330 Weird rashes all over body

I’ve had these red marks on my body, some are itchy some are not. My dr suggested it was ringworm but now I’m second guessing it, I’m getting new rashes everyday and it looks like it’s spreading all over my body despite following proper protocols and hygiene (washing clothes/bedding/ wash clothes daily, applying topical treatment as well as the oral pill, frequently washing hands) i also now have it on my hand and im paranoid its gonna spread even more it’s affecting my daily tasks and life. I’ve also developed a sore throat and a runny nose, dr says it’s not related but I’d love a second opinion please I’m kinda loosing my mind

2024.06.02 06:47 Ok-Transition-7060 Sleep Apnea Secondary to MDD w/Insomnia

So. I've read quite a few posts here regarding so many people's lovely experiences with trying to get a rating of OSA as a rating.
Long story short. I had sleeping problems practically my entire time in service. I always noticed it and I definitely made a comment several times to those at my base in the clinic. I do have a current rating of 70% for MDD w/Insomnia. I've been denied on my Sleep Apnea claim twice already. I did request a HLR back on April 18 and my lawyer submitted an article that has a few pages illustrating the link between Depression and mental health things and OSA. I did have a sleep study in July of 2023. And I have OSA pretty bad. It honestly makes sense considering I've had severe headaches for years, wake up with a dry mouth & sore throat most days, and even when I sleep for 8-10 hours. I would feel as though I never had more than 3 hours of sleep.
I also rarely ever dreamt at all (Which I was told is a telltale sign of OSA). Again, I made several mentions of the symptoms I would have regarding my poor sleep during my time in. But nobody ever suggested I should have a sleep study done. I was young(er) and naive and honestly never event thought it would be possible for me to have sleep apnea. I always assumed it was an old person thing or that you would need to be extremely overweight. While I wasn't the skinny guy I had always been during my time in. I was sitting between 170-220 max. And before I got out of the military was at about 185. So, for me (a guy who's always been pretty stocky & muscular), I felt pretty comfortable in my body. Now I feel as though I'm being penalized for my ignorance and it's just infuriating. The CPAP that I do have is a life saver and I'm extremely thankful that I got it done. But now that I understand that I've had practically the same symptoms for years...It feels like a slap in the face to deal with all of this.
Basically I'm curious if anyone else has had any success with filing secondary to MDD w/Insomnia at all? As I stated above, my lawyer did submit some article that provided evidence of links between all of that stuff. I also filed for an increase to my Migraines/Headaches. Basically just filling out a log that stated all the times I have headaches, with prostrating attacks, etc. I guess I'm just not sure what else I need to do or have to have done to make the examiners believe that I may have more than likely had OSA while I was in service. I'm waiting on a decision (have been since April 18th), and I'm literally holding my breath for that rating (if approved). If I get that & the increase for my Migraines/Headaches. I'll be sitting at 100% and a pretty hefty back pay amount that would literally be a life saver at this point.
I'm sure I'm missing some other things that I wanted to say, but this is pretty much the gist of what I was wondering about.

2024.06.02 06:45 kayla68778 The biggest symptoms are twitching/writhing, shocking in the spine, leg weakness, and mental decline

Height: 5’4”
Weight: 265
Age: 24
Sex assigned at birth: Female
Geographic region(s) your ancestors are from: IPoland (Paternal); Scotland and Bohemia (Maternal)
Medications: Baclofen, Protonix, Celebrex, Hydroxyzine
Simplified Symptoms list: itchiness all over my body, twitching and writhing of whole body, leg weakness, shocking sensation in spine (a constant one that feels like my spine is a live wired and the other being big waves of shocks that come all the sudden and last a few hours), tactile hallucinations, fainting or passing out or falling asleep (don’t know which) that ranges from 1-2 times a day to 40+ times a day, hands suddenly stopping working which causes me to drop things which I don’t notice until it hits the floor, hands unable to feel temperature correctly, slurring of speech (noticed by family not me), feeling like my tongue is heavy and it feels harder to form words, speaking loudly even though I think I’m speaking normally, severe forgetfulness
Health background - history of past illnesses, surgeries, etc.:
Past Illnesses: Endometriosis, Osteitis Pubis, Tendonitis, Chronic Rhinitis, bilateral Cochlear Implants (completely deaf without them)
Surgeries: Tonsils, Adenoids, Deviated Septum surgery, gallbladder removal surgery, endometriosis removal surgery (Has come back; another surgery in August), eye surgery, and both of my cochlear implant surgeries
Background of Symptoms - Tell the story and background of your symptoms. Things to include: When the symptoms began, what was happening around the time the symptoms started (eg. if you started or stopped any medication, injuries, trips, etc), what makes symptoms better or worse, things doctors have already ruled out, any changes from the initial presentation of the symptoms, etc:
The itchines started in December of 2020. Hydroxyzine mostly gets rid of it. The leg weakness started in March 2021. The hands not working symptom and not being able to feel temperature accurately started in April 2021. My twitching and writhing began exactly on May 1st, 2021. I was fine and then all of a sudden it started happening and I went to the ER. Nothing happened before that. I didn’t go on any new medicines or start eating any new foods. Before the last two weeks, the Baclofen got rid of it completely and I took it every 12 hours. Around May 21st, 2024 I all of a sudden started twitching and writhing 6 hours after the previous dose. I went to the ER and they gave me a big dose of Ativan and then the doctor said I could start taking Baclofen every 8 hours. I am always twitching a little bit, but it doesn’t start to get bad until 6 hours after the last dose so as soon as it’s been 8 hours I take it right away. If I’m sleeping I won’t have it. The shock started on May 22, 2021. The tactile hallucinations started on May 27th, 2021. The remaining mental decline symptoms just started 2-3 weeks ago. The only symptoms that I have are medicine that helps the twitching writhing and itchiness. Nothing makes these symptoms better or worse except that the fainting seems to get worse when I am in more pain or my symptoms get worse. Over the past 2-3 weeks since the twitching and writhing got worse and I got the new symptoms my fainting/sleeping got worse too. I didn’t start any new medications before the symptoms. The medicines I was on I had been on for 5+ years. The others I took after all of these symptoms. The symptoms have progressively gotten worse over the past 3 years until 2-to 3 weeks ago when it just really got worse quickly all of a sudden. I didn’t have any falls, accidents or anything traumatic happen.
Family history - List of family members and their illnesses (be sure to include if they are maternal or paternal relatives):
Mother: Primary sclerosing cholangitis, liver transplant
Father: High blood pressure
Aunt (Mom’s sister): Celiac disease, Rheumatoid Arthritis
Sister: POTS, EDS
Tests and Work Done -
I have metal on both sides of my head because of cochlear implants so I can’t do an MRI. When I had a CT scan the metal in my head created a huge white area on both sides so the CT scan was found inconclusive but negative for the parts they could see. However, most of the CT scan is white so you can’t see anything. I was taken off of all of my medicines for a month to test for serotonin syndrome, but nothing happened so I don’t have that. I had a spinal CT with contrast on April 22nd, 2022. That came back negative. I’ve had an EEG and EMG. Those came back negative. They noticed some activity on the EEG, but they didn’t know what. I had an MSLT sleep study and that came back negative for narcolepsy (I didn’t pass out/fall asleep at all though. I believe because I was uncomfortable and was on alert). I have had lab work done. Those are all of the tests I’ve had done.

2024.06.02 06:39 Mission-Stuff-9898 Boyfriend is not considerate when it comes to illness and it’s starting to drive me crazy

I (early 20s F) have a chronic health condition which means I am immunocompromised, when I get sick it’s often more severe and lasts twice as long as other people. It also aggravates my health condition more so it’s a pretty bad feedback loop.
My partner (early 20s M) is aware of this and does try to do stuff like get covid vaccine boosters and such but can’t help but get sick constantly and “not notice” before passing it onto me. So far this year he had two pretty prominent warts on one of his fingers that I had to point out and ask him to deal with (I had persistent warts years ago and broke records at the clinic which treated them for the treatment duration, it took years of effort and painful intense treatments, being constantly vigilant to get rid of them). He told me he’d sort of noticed them but didn’t want to tell me because I’d “freak out”. Needless to say, his went away in a month or so with over the counter treatments and I’ve of course caught them, they’ve spread to almost half of my fingers and I’m back to sustaining really invasive treatment as they seem to only spread and grow over 4 months or so.
He also has chronic allergies which he doesn’t really take his prescribed medication for. This sort of bothers me because he sniffles every day and spreads snot with stuff like snotty tissues that he leaves everywhere. This is kind of gross already but means that when he has a cold he “can’t distinguish between it and the allergies” even though the first sign of a cold is usually a sore throat which I would imagine is sort of easy to notice as standing out from other hayfever symptoms? Usually he’ll complain of a sore throat offhand and I will have to explain to him that he’s sick and needs to take this more seriously and be more on top of his symptoms so I know to avoid him for a few days and avoid getting sick myself. Because when I inevitably always do, already 2-3 times this year, I’m impacted for closer to 3-4 weeks.
The most recent incident has been him coming down with gastro which he initially put down to food poisoning (as he isn’t great with food safety either). I get that it can be hard to distinguish, and that he doesn’t want to make me sick. But yesterday he told me that he he was better and wanted to hang out so we spent the day together. Only for him to be visibly sick the whole time, offended when I didn’t want to eat something his cutlery had touched, and for me to be invited to his home without the knowledge that his parents had caught his “food poisoning” and were both throwing up, and had still invited a guest over to dinner?? I only found out when I got there and immediately left. If I come down with something like gastro and can’t keep food/fluids down I will need to go to the emergency room immediately as it is dangerous for me.
I asked him today if he washed his hands properly and he said yes but when not sick he doesn’t even always use soap. I’m starting to get really tired of his bad hygiene/self-care practices which keep becoming my problem and I’m not warned about before it’s too late (and often I have to pick up on it myself and tell him to deal with it and be more careful next time).
Even if he does genuinely makes a mistake each time, I’m starting to feel like he doesn’t care enough. And I know that my condition sounds bad and that I should be more vigilant/expect to be sick sometimes which of course I understand. But why can’t he be bothered to notice something is up/why does he avoid telling me every time! I’m starting to really resent him for this

2024.06.02 06:34 Chickenwingechicken simple exercises that you can do right now to help you shift

💭₊˚ introduction 💭₊˚

these exercises are to be done at whatever time you can. even if you shift at night, you don't have to focus on shifting in order to do these exercises. in fact, don't. while the end goal of these exercises is to help you shift, that should not be the attempt itself to shift.
just like regular physical exercise, these exercises will take time to get results for. but, they are very useful.

⋆⁺₊🪬 visualization exercise 🪬⋆⁺₊

so, you can't visualize. or you have trouble visualizing. this exercise may help you.
i notice that people tend to over complicate the idea of visualizing. as a general rule of thumb, don't over complicate things. a lot of things that are simple get over complicated by us as humans because of how simple it is. it feels like a 'what? really? that's it?' and we feel the need to search for something more beyond that. the same can be applied here to shifting and more specifically, visualizing.
lie down or sit down. just get comfortable. i want you to close your eyes and try to imagine something. it could be something small like an orange just for now. an orange is simple enough so that you can visualize it with ease.
once you have set your mind on imagining an orange. think about it some more and really analyze it. how bright is the orange? is it very textured. the orange that you are holding peeled or unpeeled? imagine it's smell. then imagine taking a bit out of it and its taste.
once you have used your senses to focus on that orange, move onto the background. before you stop imagining the orange, you should ask yourself; what is behind that orange? what color is the wall. are you holding the orange or is it on a plate or napkin?
without not focusing on the area, think of where you are looking at this orange. are you sitting somewhere? are you relaxing in your room with this orange? take time to focus on yourself and where you are and where that orange is.
do this about twice a day with different things. establishing a routine will give you the best results. when attempting to shift, you should try to visualize an object from your dr in that same way. like a phone.
if you wish to visualize your room, focus on one object and go from there. i find this personally easier than focusing on everything else at once. everything just becomes kinda blurry that way and an imagination instead of a visualization.

᭝ ᨳଓ ՟ detaching exercise ᭝ ᨳଓ ՟

this exercise is made to help you detach from your body. to not feel it. this one, i will split into two sections since there could be two ways to detach yourself.
exercise one
the first detaching exercise just has you focus on your breathing and letting things be. relax all of your muscles. focus on each limb individually starting from your feet and all the way up to your head. once you are completely relaxed, you should try to focus on anything but your body. maybe some scenarios about your dr.
but ultimately, you should be having a calm mind. it should feel empty by the time that you are done relaxing. don't be sleepy, but also don't be too alert of the world around you. if you feel a tingling or heaviness, especially in your legs, just ignore it.
again, do not over complicate it. just let it all be.
exercise two
the second detachment exercise focuses on the feeling of removing yourself from the body. or at least, the feeling of removing yourself from your body. repeat the exact same steps as before. in order for this to work however, your limbs should not be touching; it makes the process easier.
once you have done that, focus on your breathing again. then once your body becomes heavy, try to move parts of your body without moving a muscle. do your best, even if it takes a couple of tries to do.

⭑. 🌌 wake up exercise 🌌 .⭑

unless you take naps throughout the day, you only have the opportunity to do this as soon as you wake up. there is something called a hypnagogic state. a hypnagogic state is a mental state in which you are between sleep and being awake. your dream has just ended or is about to begin. there is a moment of awareness just before you do. try to focus on that feeling.
once you become aware you are in that state, you likely have no feeling in your body. you will quickly shoot yourself out of bed as quickly as you could. don't think too long about it, simply just shoot yourself out of bed.
you can quickly affirm that you are in your dr when you do this, or you could do what is basically astral projection or a self induced out of body experience.

𓍢ִ໋🌷͙֒ meditation exercise 𓍢ִ໋🌷͙֒

this one is pretty self explanatory. you are meant to just meditate. you can find a quick one or a long one to your liking. as i said many other times before, meditation is a proven way to calm your mind and body. meditating for a quick amount of time and slowly building up to a longer meditation can help you with shifting and staying in the same place as before.
you should listen to the same or similar meditation so that you can build off of that and have some semblance of familiarity with it.
again, this will need a routine of doing this often. it doesn't have to be once everyday, but it can be every other day within the day. it shouldn't be when you are about to sleep.
if you feel as though there is an outside force preventing you from shifting or view shifting as some puzzle with a missing piece that you can't find, this exercise can help you figure out what it is by tapping into you subconscious mind.

⁺₊🎧 comfort character exercise ⁺₊🎧

this one is similar to the visualization one in some way. put on a guided meditation or an asmr roleplay of that comfort character. close your eyes and imagine yourself getting talked to by that comfort character.
for the guided meditation, imagine them talking to you through that guided meditation. that their voice is helping you relax. this may improve your chances in shifting by being able to focus on that meditation even more.
as for the asmr roleplay, i find that this can help you create a scenario for your dr and something to have a conversation with while you shift.
you can also do both of these just before you shift to motivate you some more. it can also just be a fun thing to do!

୨🪐୧ conclusion ୨🪐୧

i'm a bit tired after writing this. not due to the post itself but just in general, haha. when it comes to these exercises, the goal is not to shift during them, so don't be disappointed if you wake up in your current reality after doing these exercises. as i said before, the goal is to work on certain aspects that people use for shifting that you struggle with. if you feel held back by shifting in some way, these will be a great opportunity to try and figure out what it is.
please be sure to stay safe and happy shifting! ᥫ᭡
