2024.06.02 06:09 MasterEmerald [US,US] MasterEmerald's 167th Trade Post [H] SV, SWSH, SM, XY, Older TPCi, WotC and more! [W] Want List, Paypal, Binders

Hi there everyone! Welcome to my 167th trade post. I'm a toddler dad now, so please give me some time to get back to you. Check out what I've got this week :)
I've linked my account here to the subreddit discord as well: knuxem95#3785. I do prefer doing business through Reddit, however.
Almost all pictures below are timestamped today, with the exception of the jumbos, figures, and pins. I will get to that upon request as it takes a good amount of time to do it.
Here's what I've got to offer as well as what I'm looking for:
HAVES Main Binders and Desirables
Other Stuff
WANTS
  • Wants List here (An "X" in the document means I have that card already!, "Inc" means it is on the way to me!). My current priority is WotC cards (Neo and promos). After that, I'm interested in all XY/SM/SWSH series cards I don't have already. Reverse Holo and 1st edition cards are a lower priority than the unlimited cards, but all offers will be considered!
  • Share your binders!
PRICING NOTES
  • In general, if I am selling, prices will be approximately 10% off Verified TCGPlayer Low prices for the quality of the card.
  • Trade prices will reflect the actual Verified TCGPlayer Low prices.
  • Generally always open to selling, just ask!
  • Topps cards are priced via TrollandToad, if possible. These will be priced at around 80% of the NM cost, as most of mine are not NM.
  • Japanese cards are priced via eBay sold, if possible.
  • Sale prices will be listed with Paypal Goods and Services fees included. I have the discretion to ask for Friends & Family, but G&S is always okay.
  • Trade prices will be based on actual prices listed, since fees don't need to be included, typically.
SHIPPING NOTES
  • I'd prefer to do sales/trades with a value of no less than $5.00, due to shipping costs. Thanks in advance for understanding!
  • Plain White Envelope: $1.00 in addition to any other costs for sales. Only for 4 cards or less, worth $20.00 or less.
  • Bubble Mailers: $3.00 in addition to any other costs for sales. For cards worth $20.00 or more.
  • All shipping includes appropriate protection for cards/goods shipped.
Thanks everyone!

Monthly Merchandise Megathread #39!

Hello everyone! This is a mega thread for merchandise sales in which /Neopets members can advertise and find sales of Neopets merchandise with ease here. This thread will not be pinned after today, but it will be added to the sidebar.
Please read the following information carefully and trade safely!

Rules

  • Sellers must abide by our 90/10 Advertising Rule:
Some Neopets-related promotional posts/comments are allowed if you are an active member of the subreddit. A maximum of 10% of your contributions can be promotional; the other 90% should be meaningful and active engagement in other conversations here.
  • Please do NOT advertise a sales post in private messages/chats, thread comments, or in a new post. Don't treat the Neopets community as your own personal cash cow.
  • If you are selling NC Cards, please follow and adhere to the 90/10 rule as outlined above.
  • NC Cards/Merch/Codes are NOT to be traded with NP/NC items as that is against site rules.
  • Art, craft, and coding commissions are NOT allowed due to the legal complications involved. (We are waiting to re-evaluate this once the Neopets Fan Art program fully releases.) Additionally, we do not condone DMing random people to sell merch either.
  • Moderators have no liability with respect to any conducted transactions.
  • Moderators are not liable for lost funds or time. We cannot help you get your money back/your merch. It is YOUR responsibility to uphold your end and choose partners wisely. Caveat Emptor.
  • Moderators will step in if we receive multiple reports that a user is abusing the marketplace via not delivering works, not paying or any other breach of trust.

  • Please observe all rules as outlined in our community and discussion guidelines! (Check out the nifty sidebar!)
  • The plan is to have a mega thread every first Saturday of the month.
  • Reminder: NEVER mention Reddit (or any variations thereof like Read It, Arr! Neopets, Blue Aliens, “that other site”, etc) or this thread on Neopets itself! We are not an officially affiliated fansite and doing so can put your account—or the ones of others—at risk of getting frozen!

FAQ

Is Selling NC Cards/Merch/Codes Neo-Legal?

Hi, TNT. While I was browsing through eBay, I found Neopets trading cards for sale. There are so many, and I was interested in buying some, but wouldn't that be against the rules? I don't really think it would be, but I'd rather ask than risk my account. I'm not 100% sure, but can't you redeem codes from the cards in the packs and get items? Would that then be considered buying items? ~i_luv_cows12345
No, physical merchandise produced or officially licensed by us is just fine to buy, sell, or trade online. This includes stuff like real life plushies, action figures, TCG cards, etc. Codes are considered a legitimate part of these items. Items you cannot buy or sell online are virtual items, Neopoints, Neopets, or accounts.
Hi, TNT! I have an odd question for you.... about commissions. Now, I know taking them in exchange for anything on Neopets is against the rules, as is doing commissions with Neopets characters. However... what about real-life merchandise? I'm the sort that's willing to take trades, and I was wondering: could someone pay me in Neopets plushies? What about rare item codes, or Neocash? (the cards, not actual on-site NC items) I mean, people sell the item codes on eBay all the time, so wouldn't that be okay? As far as NC cards go, if I'm just going to buy them anyway, why not save a step? Would these be against the Terms & Conditions because they give things on the site itself? I mean, obviously, it still wouldn't be okay to do a commission OF Neopets, but in exchange for merchandise, where do you guys stand? (please remove my username) ~username removed
As you said, as long as you aren't taking commissions of Neopets intellectual property, you're welcome to trade or sell your real-world merchandise however you'd like. According to Lawyerbot: "Trading plushies, rare item codes, NC cards, etc. for real-life merchandise is fine. I once traded my brother's turtle to a friend for a Shadow Uni Plushie.

Can I just send the Space Faerie Code, but keep the items?

Hi, TNT! So, I had a question about gifting rare item codes, Space Faerie codes, site theme codes (like Puzzle Adventure), etc. I know it is against the rules to ask for anything like "tips" or compensation in return for gifting a code, as well as selling codes. However, is it against the rules to ask someone to return the item that they got from the code itself? Say someone receives a plushie from redeeming a code. Is it okay to ask that they return the plushie, or would it be better to say something like, "I would greatly appreciate if you return the item, but it's not required" since non-requested thank you gifts are allowed? I just wanted to be sure. Thank you for your time! Also, a side note: I LOVE YOU, TNT. I HAVE BEEN PLAYING FOR 9+ YEARS NOW AND NEOPETS IS AWESOME. spreads love Please remove my username. ~username removed
If the receiver is kind enough to return the item from the code, we wouldn't consider it any sort of "tip" due to the nature of Rate Item Codes. That said, once you give away the code, it is up to the codebearer to decide what to do with the item. You can ask them as you phrased the example above, but code gifting is an unsupported transaction and we will likely be unable to assist if the person chooses to keep the item.

Where can I redeem codes?

What Neopets Merchandise gives out the Space Faerie challenger?

Products that can reward the Space Faerie challenger are:
  • Old Neocash Mystery Capsules Codes
  • Fun Pak Codes
  • Comic-Con Codes
  • Newer Merch Codes (Geekify, What’s Your Passion, etc.), etc.
  • TCG, Current Neocash, and Promotional Rare Item Codes do not reward the Space Faerie challenger.

2024.06.02 04:43 luna_muse96 Dupe for "Harlequin" by Tarte?

My favorite red lipstick that I've ever had was the Tarte Lip Sculptor in the shade Harlequin. it must have been discontinued because I can't find it for sale anywhere except Poshmark and eBay. I would just buy it from one of these places but, even if it is new in the box, I'd kind of rather have a fresh lipstick. Has anyone used this color? Can you recommend something else that looks like it?

2024.06.02 02:43 farineta46 Career Advice

Current situation: 29M, £300K net worth & £100k salary (+RSUs of soon to be public company).
I’ve been working 7 years as an IC in Sales Operations roles in tech (went through an IPO, joined FAANG). Recently joined my current employer taking a pay cut from my job at FAANG because 1/ I hated it and 2/ saw a lot of potential in the new company. Reality is, after 6 months, I’m working my ass off (10-12H a day), see myself as the most qualified person in the team, but I don’t see my career progressing here because I’m based in Europe. I’ve had this feeling in all my companies, where less qualified/worse workers get more opportunities just because they’re in the HQ. Especially infuriating since I have to work longer hours to align with people in the Bay Area or Australia.
I’m aware I’m in a privileged position but I’m also ambitious and I hate this feeling of being stuck. Also, I love living in Europe and my preference would be to stay here.
Is this a dead end? Can I even get to the >200K levels doing what I’m doing? Am I hallucinating?
I’ve been thinking on a career change, maybe into a more technical space such as Data Engineering. I understand this will have an impact on my earning in the short term, but it might give me a better quality of life in the future (more remote roles, less dependant on HQ).
I’d appreciate some advice from more experienced HENRYs that surely have a better perspective about this. Ty!

ebay algorithm glitch/ WTF / hood news but why?
So i am pretty new to flipping and the ebay thing. have sold maybe 7-10 items in the last few months, power tools bought at auction, nothing exciting. i have had several items listed, some for months, that have gotten not a lot of traction, a few views a few offers here and there.
something crazy though - today, just now, i went to revise some of my listings because I decided to stop offering free shipping (to maximize my profits) and fix a couple typos, nothing major. so i change an item (tap and die set, $220) to “buyer pays shipping” and then i changed a carhartt jacket ( had been listed for months) to “buyer pays shipping” and changed it also to “returns accepted 30 days buyer pays shipping” but before i could even revise the listing officially, my phone is vibrating and it’s notifications from ebay. several items sold that have just been sitting there listed for weeks/months and they all sold literally within a 15 second window.
The only other thing is that about 10 minutes ago eBay asked for my SSN, because I had reached a certain threshold of sales or something, and they needed the info for tax purposes. there I went to change the free shipping like I described and then I came here to ask what the fuck just happened? not complaining. but seems unlikely that is a fluke, and to do with some kind of algorithm magic?

Montblanc M RED Signature Marc Newson Fountain Pen 18K Gold M Nib 113622
This is in new condition. This was recently purchased at a MontBlanc outlet. This was my first fountain pen purchase and will possibly be my last I've since moved on to rollerballs from MontBlanc. Since this isn't being used I am selling this and the five cartridges I have with it.
As far as condition there's not a single mark that I can find on the pen itself as it wasn't really used past one ink cartridge.
Please request any other photos or video I have no problem uploading additional photos.
And also be sure that to note that I'm including the original sales receipt with the purchase so it's a full proof of purchase.
As for verification I can do whatever is needed. Just reach out to me and I'm sure we can figure something out I've sold watches on Reddit worth several thousand dollars more than this. Also I have the exact same listing on eBay so if you prefer to do things through there we could always do that but of course that's not a great way for me since it has some fees.
Asking $1k on ebay, open to all offers.

2024.06.02 00:53 fadedspark Corsair's new RX fans - Actually really good, and one minor nitpick.

https://imgur.com/a/wwTWMGS
So, to start off, I'd like to thank Corsair for sending these out! I'm immensely thankful!
I had LL120s previously that were a little chattery when cold, and some AF120's in the front that were a LOT chattery when cold, these are fully silent at low RPMs and much quieter than my previous fans while moving more air. Even the max speed is about the same as the old fans and moves what feels like twice the volume of air.
From a performance perspective, I truly can not complain. Great for watercooling performance.
The lighting is good, however only 8 LEDs per fan, and they do have a bit of a hotspot from each one. Some people may not like this, I'm fine with it. The software is classic iCue, and the colors are great. It's corsair, they've had lighting and color down for a long time.
HOWEVER!
A little bit weird in some scenarios.
With the wonky-ass loop that I have (I've been meaning to upgrade Case and rads for a while) since I can't fit a 360 up front in the 560x comfortably, and I've got a Corsair XR up top, the rear fan had to be connected solo to the hub. Thankfully, they include a long cable in the kit, or I would have been up the creek on that one. The fittings on the radiator fully impede connection to daisy chain the last fan with the other five, and with a push set up on the top rad, exhausting out the top of the case, which is a fairly common layout, It's impossible to get to the connector. Not tight, but impossible. I'm using Corsair's soft fittings for reference. A slimmer fitting might make a difference, but there was at least a few mm of interference, and it just might be something people have to deal with.
Secondly, and this is a nitpick, I wish they included a short straight connection cable in the box with the fans. And I do mean straight on both ends. It would make connecting the front 3 to the top 2 fans a little simpler in my case, and while the 90deg cables do work, they are a little fussy to plug in as they are hard to hold on to, and the thickness of the cable itself tends to cause the connectors to rotate to the position they shipped in. If you can plug them in before connecting, it's super easy. Just hard in the case.
On to the software, I've used iCue for a LONG time, but with the link system being used for fan control, it changes things a bit.
And it's much for the better.
Truly, I think the cooling options under the fan controls might be the best reason to pick these up. The control over the fans is done in app, you can set curves, pick the sensor you want fans to adjust to on an per-fan basis (You want your fronts to ramp on CPU and top to ramp on GPU? Go for it.) which is incredible. Fancontrol could do per header, but if you had daisy chain or a splitter? Too bad.
I was previously using fancontrol to try and control my fans and it was just kind of clumsy. I had to use a PWM splitter on my old fans, and they always felt a little slow to adjust, or some would just not adjust much, if at all.
Now, speed changes are rapid if you want, or gracefully curve up and down as preferred. With my system set up for a max speed of 90% at GPU hotspot of 65, I don't hear them at all unless I've got a full load going in OCCT. Again, performance wise, incredible. It's the software that makes them different, we've got good fans already, but being able to drop a piece of software for once, is nice.
And lastly, cabling.
The whole point is daisy-chain. And it really does clean things up.
I removed, when installing these:
1 6 way PWM powecontrol splitter
1 Corsair Lighting node
1 Corsair RGB splitter thing (I forget the name)
All the assorted cable for 3 RGB fans and 3 non RGB fans, as well as these 3 boxes.
I only added the one box, a PCIe power cable (Got to remove a SATA one, so I call that net positive. Less overall cable.) and the tails from both ends of the daisy chain.
The two hard drive bays you see on the backside used to be a hot mess of cables. I gave up taming them after the SP120 RGBs that came with this case failed and I replaced them with some whites that I had and just left it be for a while.
Now, it's left plenty of room for organization, I can actually fit everything in the center straps for the first time in eons, and If I move cases in the future, it will be even easier.
It's a great product, and I've seen them on sale already in Canada for $85cad, which is the same I paid for a set of LL120s, and they blow them away. For that money, I'd pick up a pair without question. The flexibility in having a High performance or Silent option with a simple curve is great. At retail in the US, I'm seeing about $100usd, it's a bit harder of a sell, but if you're looking at premium fans nowadays, that is still quite reasonable.
Overall, great product, a premium product, but if you're already spending the money on premium fans, definitely worth taking a look at.

2024.06.02 00:40 fake_physicist Ebay Sales Business vs Hobby

I recently attempted to try flipping items bought outside eBay on eBay as an additional stream of income. My intention in doing this was to try to make a profit. This did not last long, even though I sold the items I purchased for a profit, after eBay Fees, shipping supplies, shipping cost I had very little profit. Total sales was less than $1000 and it was simply not worth my time acquiring these items for sale and fulfilling the orders.
For these sales, can I report this income on my Schedule C and deduct the additional expenses (fees, shipping supplies, shipping cost) in addition to my cost basis? Or would this be considered a hobby? The distinction between a business and a hobby doesn't seem to be very clear.
Additionally, I've sold some personal items where it is worth it compared to giving it away or disposing of it. The sales are a mix of sales and losses. I know these losses on the sale of personal items are non-deductible, but can I record these sales separately on my 8949/Schedule D taking gains on items where I profited vs my cost basis and $0 where it was a loss vs my cost basis?
Thank you in advance for any insight you can provide.

2024.06.02 00:25 Pippapeppers Work trip boundaries

My husband (36) and I (33), have been married for almost 2 years but together for 14yrs. Last weekend, his job was invited to a tequila hacienda in Mexico for 3 days. We didn’t know what the trip entailed just that he was flying out with other people (not his own coworkers). We assumed it was other people from different companies. He met them at the airport & all he tells me about them is that it’s 5 highly qualified cool people. First day he’s sending pictures of the beautiful grounds & the food & the expensive tastings. We usually send each other pictures when we’re away so everything’s normal. Then at night, after all planned tours & activities, he sends me the last video of a few people sitting by the fireplace drinking. Didn’t hear from him after so I called but no answer. No big deal, maybe he just fell asleep. Next day, he didn’t acknowledge my call. Again no big deal, I don’t wanna press about a call. He’s proably just having fun networking. He continues to send me pictures of the activities & food during the day. He then sends me videos of the mariachi showing up & I can see that he was sitting by 3 young women. At this point, I have not asked about the people in the group. I just know the name of one of the girls, Jane, the organizer who arranged the trip & flights and whom he was communicating with before the trip. So I started asking, who was Jane in the video, & who are the other ones & if those are the people he flew with. He proceeds to tell me he doesn’t even remember their names, that he’s been mainly hanging out with Jane & the other 2 guys in the group & also shares how there’s about 15 more people there that flew out from other places. I found it suspicious that he didn’t know their names but I let it go. Then he called & said that it was a long day & everybody was tired & that he’d call me back when he was back in his room. He didn’t. So I called. No answer. I texted asking if he was ok. He responded hours later that he was, that he was just having a good time. I waited & called again & no answer. At this point, I’m upset. Why doesn’t he answer? What is he hiding? Who are all these people? So I went on social media & easily found them. I found the 3 women & the 2 guys he flew with. They were all young attractive women & one of them was some type of nude art performer. I’m not a jealous person. We are an easy going couple who never give each other a hard time about this kind of stuff. But seeing that he was hanging out with these beautiful women at what was basically an all inclusive vacation (not a typical work trip with meeting or sales pitches), made me so upset because he didn’t think it was appropriate to at least tell me who he was with or call me back both nights. I was extremely upset but talked it out with myself & decided I was gonna let it go. Bad decisions are made work trips or not. Next day, plan was for me to pick him up. We live 15 mins away from airport. He lands, proceeds to say that Jane was ordering them a car & to make it “easier”for me, they would just drop him off somewhere on their way out. Made absolutely no sense because they were headed north & we live south. Also the airport is complicated & in order get an Uber, you have to shuttle to a lot & wait in queue. My husband hates people at airports, hates waiting, took only a backpack, did not have luggage. Yet, he’s hanging out with them at the airport waiting for all of them to get their checked luggage & willing to shuttle to a lot to be dropped off at Chili’s (further away) so that I pick him from there instead. In my head all I’m thinking is wow he just cant get enough of them. I ended up picking him up from the airport, took 10 mins, & I just went off on him. Told him about how I felt & how uncomfortable I was with him partying it up with women he didn’t even tell me about & him not calling back. We fought. I expressed how going forward I need him to call me back. This whole trip made me uncomfortable & I find it inappropriate that he’s staying up drinking with who knows whom & doesn’t answer. If you read my whole rant, how do you deal with work trips? What are healthy boundaries? This was a first time for me & I know I’m overreacting but I also feel it was inappropriate.

2024.06.01 23:30 OMGitsgordonramsay ISO ridge roller v5 bag to purchase OR a frame for a v1 bag

Broke the seat frame on my ridge v1 that I’ve had since they first started making these bags and I’m at a loss for what to do about it. Not sure how I could even fix it or if it’s possible even to fix it. Removing the frame is possible but the bag slouches badly and won’t do for me.
Would love to find a v5 for sale but can’t find a single one other than an mildly ugly green one on eBay that’s being sold without the seat frame which I really want.
Anyone out there want to part with a v5 or have advice on a fix for the v1 frame?

2024.06.01 23:27 travelwithnolan Ralph’s Coffee Sweatshirt

Ralph’s Coffee Sweatshirt
Stole this baby off eBay for $44.44. I’ve wanted one forever but the Ralph’s Coffee studs is always excluded from sales and $165 is steep to pay for a sweatshirt for a guy who’s in South Florida and able to wear it a handful of times.

2024.06.01 23:26 SAHWFHmom Wedding Rates are INSANE!!

Wedding Rates are INSANE!!
We live in the Bay Area. I’m having a small (30 guest) wedding. Family only. Every venue I reach out to has a 10k/15k minimum. With an additional 8% city fee, 9% sales tax, and 22% service fee (gratuity not included). This minimum is given only to weddings and does not include food/beverage, decor, photos, or other miscellaneous expenses. At the end of it, we are looking at $40k-$50k. This seems insane. Am I wrong for thinking wedding rates are too high for small parties?
