2014.12.29 02:38 IntriguingQuestion Cross posting from /r/LegalAdvice - Possible Impending Legal Charges

I live in South East England
The facts:
I've been a long time member of MyFreeCams (a webcam site) and a previous patron of a specific model. For some reason I'm not sure of, the model I was a regular patron was uncomfortable with me and banned me, along with an email on the site (known as "MFC Mail") about the reasoning of why I was banned and such. This was approx. mid-March.
I was upset and responded to her pleading that I should be able to return but she didn't respond to the emails. I was entirely too stupid and kept messaging her for a few more days through WhatsApp (messaging application) and tipnotes (messages alongside small tips) for a plea. She freaked out about it but didn't threaten legal action yet. I calmed down a bit and backed off entirely. I had bouts of depressive episodes following.
By about the 19th April I received messages from her stating that I am accused of committing
She said in her emails that if I agreed to "cease all actions" of the above then she wouldn't charge me, so I sent emails detailing that I didn't commit those accusations but I would "cease" anyway. Practically nothing happens for two years.
I came back about four months ago to talk to some of my friends on the site, who happen to patron her room often. I wondered if she calmed down over the years but she sent me another email saying that the ban from her workplace was permanent and I should stay away. I stayed away, but yesterday I received a message saying that she's been receiving communications from "multiple people" that I've apparently tried to find a way back in to her chatroom and Twitter, which I know to be entire falsehoods but puts me in a tricky situation in court.
I've yet to be put in touch with her lawyers so I have no idea what's going on. I don't need this affecting my criminal record. What should I do?
In response to a post on the other subreddit before I edited the main body (/LegalAdvice) -
Your post seems really weaselish. I know that's not a word, but I'm sticking with it.
"Some of the possible charges... as it is alleged that I've..."
Stop it. You want help, tell us the facts and stop using the passive voice. I don't know if it makes you sound guilty or it makes you sound like a twerp that's trying to sound "educated."
If you have harassed her or have engaged in behavior that may result in you having to prove to a court of law that you weren't actually harassing her, you get yourself a lawyer. Otherwise, wait until you hear something before taking action.
In either case, you do not contact her, her friends, or anyone that has anything to do with her. You don't hack or otherwise access her or her accounts, you don't twitter her twatter, you stop following her on AssBook.
I wrote
I have no idea how much information I can give without committing contempt. The charges involve specifically -
  • Harassment
  • Blackmail/extortion
  • Breaking into Gmail accounts
  • Distribution of intellectual property
  • And some additional minor charges I can't really recall
The problem is, I can't tell you what fully happened because I don't even know. We were close friends for a long time on MyFreeCams but she felt uncomfortable with me in the room so she banned me, which prevents access to the room. I sent her messages in response to a message she sent to me but she didn't respond, and I was entirely stupid to keep trying for another two or three days.
I eventually received a bunch of notices telling me that I'm harassing her so I stopped contacting her and within a few weeks, I left the site entirely. I had an associated Twitter account that I stopped using.
By approx 19th April 2013 I received emails regarding notice of the charges, apparently the other patrons of the chatroom had kept her scared of what I've apparently "committed," hence the charges I keep referring to.
I know a huge majority of them are entire falsehoods, and she emails me with an expectation that I respond to them followed by threats of pursuing said charges should I fail to respond. It's been quiet for nearly two years but her chatroom patrons suspect I've been accessing her MyFreeCams chatroom and locked Twitter account again so I'm faced with legal charges.
I really don't know what to do. The situation is tricky because indeed I have sent her messages before where she felt uncomfortable. I did keep quiet for nearly two goddamn years so this is frustrating.
