Background: Female, 20 years old, 5'4, 112 lbs, vegan diet, No STDs or STIs, I take Physician's Choice Probiotics for Women - 50 Billion CFU, and Every Woman™'s One Daily Multivitamin, I have a low pain tolerance. Ureaplasma from an ex-boyfriend.
May 7th- May 29th:
After having unprotected sex with my ex-boyfriend, a few days later I began having intense burning on my labia minora, along with yeasty discharge. I was on combination birth control and assumed the symptoms were from this, thus I went off of it. Went to urgent care where they diagnosed it as a yeast infection, I was prescribed 3 pills of Diflucian, Clotrimoxole & Betamethasone Dipropionate external vaginal cream. I also took AZO boric acid suppositories for 8 days, which helped discharge become normal again. The cream did work and got rid of the burning until I used a vibrator one day and the symptoms came back even worse the next day this time it was burning my urethra, labia minora, clitoris hood, and clitoris. This time I knew it was something else. May 30: (I remember once, half a year ago, I had a burning sensation on my labia minora and thought it was chlamydia, which I had before, thus I went to urgent care and asked for doxycycline (100mg 2x a day). After six days of treatment the symptoms were eradicated, I thought the pain was due to rough sex since I was negative for all STIs and STDs. I didn't know what ureaplasma was at the time.)
- With that story in mind, I decided to look up what that whole experience was and why it got rid of my symptoms, this is where I found out about Mycoplasma and Ureaplasma. I took a leftover single pill of 100mg of doxy, and I went to my gyno. I told my gyno my concerns, and she tested me and prescribed me 100mg of doxycycline (1 week's worth) and said I should take it until I find out if I have it or not. The pain was 8/10.
MAY 30 -JUNE 3: 1st dose of Doxy started May 30; began barely eating, but drank a lot of water, kept up with probiotics. No longer sexually active.
MAY 30: Symptoms were still bad 8/10, started taking 3 pills of Advil (200mg) every 8 hrs. Burning icy feeling near my urethra, clit is swollen. No smelly discharge, discharge was watery and cloudy. - day 1 doxy
JUNE 1: Symptoms are the same but slowly subsiding. Had a 5-hour period of no symptoms. No smelly discharge, discharge is still watery and cloudy, clit still throbbing with pain. Pain 4/10 in the afternoon, 6/10 at night. - day 2 doxy
JUNE 2: POSITIVE: Found out I was positive for Ureaplasma, was told by my gyno to continue the 100mg doxy 2x a day(only had one week worth), and then when finished I will be instructed to take two 500mg Azithromycin as a one-time dose.
- Symptoms are the same and is at a pain level of 5/10. however, at night I had a 7/10 flare-up.

JUNE 3: Burning icy sensation only on the urethra, clit sometimes aches, but pain overall is a 4/10. Only really burns when sitting down. Later at night the pain went to a 2/10. No foul discharge smell, discharge is sticky and clear. - day 4 doxy
- After reading the posts here, I grew nervous about only having one week's worth of doxy and decided to go to urgent care where I asked for more. I was given an extra two weeks' worth of doxy after much convincing. I also ordered Kirkman Biofilm Defense, which will be here in a couple of days.
- Talked to a woman who was cured of ureaplasma. She came back positive after 1 round of treatment(idk what the first treatment was), had no symptoms but still was positive. However, after her 2nd round of antibiotics, she was cleared.
- her second round consisted of one dose of azithromycin, ten days of doxycycline, iodine douches, Garden of Life 40 billion CFUs, and also took Kirkman Biofilm Defense while on her treatment in order to reset her gut. Lastly, she suggested to ask my doctor to be swabbed with iodine because "it's the only thing that kills ureaplasma besides antibiotics." However, I will not be doing iodine swabs.
JUNE 4: Woke up with no pain, just slight discomfort. Pain has decreased to almost a 1/10, becomes a 1.5/10 when I think about it. Labia minora is irritated when touched, and there is slight discomfort on urethra. Clit feels sore. Occasional slight stinging on labia minora
- Discharge is slightly sticky with a small amount of yeast; no foul discharge, no itching, does not burn when peeing. Took fluconazole to get rid of oncoming yeast infection.
- Also, I began doing kegels (hold for 10 sec, until discomfort/clit stinging is gone) whenever I felt my clit start to sting, this has helped get rid of pain.
- took 600mg of ibuprofen to alleviate any swelling on clit. 3 hrs later it had brought pain to a 0/10
- despite pain going away, I will continue to do 2 more weeks of doxy.

JUNE 5: Slight singling on urethra in the morning, pain was a 0.5/10. Took and Advil 400mg at 6AM pain went to a 0/10 for the whole day. Was able to wear tight jeans and panties with no discomfort. Minute tingling discomfort around opening of vagina, pain of 0.3/10. No smelly discharge, discharge is sticky and clear, no pain while peeing. - took a pill of Kirkman’s biofilm supplement - day 6 doxy
JUNE 6: Today was stressful. I stabbing sensation on left side of clit, clit in general is very irritated, pain 4.5/10. Later in the day I had a bad flare up. Vulva has hot sensation after cream was applied, very uncomfortable Losing hope - Slight yeast in discharge, no smell, went to gyno - much stress and anxiety - day 7 doxy
JUNE 7: Flare up from yesterday was mentally tough. Today I had slight burning sensation on labia, although my pubes that are growing back in began to irritate my labia too. Discomfort is at a 2/10, there is no pain just a hot sensation on vulva. When I distracted myself pain went to a 0.2/10. When clitoral hood is lifted, the clit is very irritated when touched - took iron pill - took vitamin C - day 8 doxy
JUNE 8: Woke up with no pain, took doxy, was nauseous for 2 hours. Pain throughout the day: 0/10 - no discharge present - no smelly discharge, no swelling on vulva - When clitoral hood is lifted, exposed hood is slightly irritated when touched - day 9 doxy
JUNE 9: No pain, slight discomfort on labia minora. Discomfort started late at night, 2/10. Discomfort subsided after 30min back to a 0/10. - watery grey discharge with yeast - No smelly discharge - Slight nausea - day 10 doxy
JUNE 10: No pain at all. Woke up very nauseous - no abnormal smell or discharge - day 11 doxy
JUNE 11: No pain nor discomfort in the morning or afternoon. Had a five hour flare up in the evening, just a 3/10 discomfort, burning on labia minora. - discharge slightly watery with yeast present, no abnormal smell. - took boric acid - day 12 doxy
JUNE 12: 3.5/10 discomfort whole day near urethra. - discharge is watery - day 13 doxy - at night I had a yeast infection from antbiotics, so I took fluconazole
JUNE 13: No pain, but 2/10 discomfort near urethra. Went away completely with acetaminophen 500mg. - yeast infection still present, but later it was slowly going away Skipped probiotics, but not biofilm supplement - day 14 doxy
June 14: No pain, but at 4PM I had a 2/10 discomfort near the urethra, went away at 11PM. - took 1,500mg of acetaminophen - discharge is slightly yeast but sticky - skipped probiotics, but not biofilm - day 15 doxy
June 15: No pain or discomfort at all. Symptoms are going away. - skipped probiotic, but not biofilm - day 16 doxy
