2024.05.28 20:29 Amazing_Duck_8298 What is it called if I am no one?

It feels like I've always been here but idk if I have. I have the same vague and distant memory for all parts of my life that were not traumatic, and no memory for the parts that were. I would think that amnesia would be a sign that I wasn't there but I don't even have a memory of what happened a few seconds ago. Everything I do is blank and empty. I don't have any thoughts or feelings. I basically just spend all of my time dissociating. I can function very basically on my own, but I need help from others on the inside to blend in with normal life. Otherwise, I struggle a lot with doing my job, taking care of myself, socializing, etc. A few years ago, my head was much louder but I shoved all of that away and now it is just me. I feel like I've always been stuck here but maybe it's actually just been these last few years. It is hard to say because I have no memory.
My therapist said that I am a shell, and that seemed to fit at first. But the more I have read about it, the more it seems like it doesn't? I haven't been able to find much on it though so idk. I feel like I can't be a shell because I don't function well on my own and because I have no memory. But if I'm not a shell, what am I? I know labels are meaningless anyway, but I want to understand better. If I was explaining myself using the car analogy, it feels like maybe I am the car and no one is driving me? But sometimes other people grab the wheel for a bit or at least give some directions. Or like if the body is the car then I am just sitting in the driver's seat while the car drives itself. I do not feel like the body but I don't know what the body is if it isn't me. Or maybe I am in the passenger's seat and no one is in the driver's seat unless they sometimes are? Idk. I am so derealized and go into trances so much it feels like I don't exist but if I don't exist then who is fronting?

Different charging time to charge Model Y LR and Model Y RWD
My friend and I are planning a road trip on our Tesla Model Y one with a Rear-Wheel Drive (RWD) and an LFP battery, and the other with a Long Range (LR) battery. When planning our trip using the Tesla app, we've noticed that despite Tesla suggesting similar charging stations on route, the charging times are significantly different. This results in one car arriving more than an hour later than the other. Although I'm aware that the RWD's range is less than the LR's, but both cars arrive at each charging station with a nearly equal amount of remaining battery. This leads me to believe that the variance is due to the charging rate of the vehicles. I haven't found any documentation suggesting that the Model Y with an LFP battery charges more slowly. What do you think could be the reason for slower charging time for RWD model. Both car have same starting and ending point. Model Y LR is 1 year old where Model Y RWD is 10 month old. Both car max charging percentage kept at 100%

2024.05.28 20:28 ashlyelth over a year without services??

i bought a new car in april of 2023. it only had seven miles when i purchased it. because it is a new car, i wanted to take good care of it. i’ve been washing it regularly and keeping it clean. well i called my dealership to request a detail. i didn’t know you had to have oil changes and tire rotations regularly. i have almost 13k miles since last year. i have an appointment to get both taken care of at the end of june. it’s a 2023 nissan versa with almost 13k miles and zero oil changes/zero tire rotations.
my questions: will my car be okay? how often are oil changes needed? idk what happens if you don’t change your oil but i don’t want to break my car lol
if i drove it as is for 13k, wouldn’t i have to drive it for another 13k to “even out” the tires? then after that how often do i get a rotation?
someone said something also about the gas i have been using. should i be using premium or unleaded? what’s the difference?
is there anything else i should be doing to my car regularly? it’s a brand new car and i want to take good care of it so it will last a long time but honestly i’m literally just a girl and could use some help:’)

2024.05.28 20:28 gradstudent9690 How is this car?

Someone recommended me this car
I was thinking of getting a corolla
But 2009+ how does it compare to a corolla
I just need a car that drives from a to b
Good on gas and doesn’t need major repairs
What type of price year milage should I look for in a used Yaris? Looking under 10k and 2009+ if possible.
It’s probably not as good as corolla but why? Corolla is more expensive and hard to find a good one under 10k 2009+ I guess with low miles but not sure if that matters
Wondering if it’s worth to get a corolla or Yaris is good enough?

2024.05.28 20:28 InstructionLoose2556 Financial mess and cripling debt, i need help please

Hi all,
So..i'm in a bit of a mess financialy due to some really bad choices made last year, i ended up 28K in debt spread across 3 credit cards and a loan, which I'm slowly paying back but it will take a few years to do so.
I have a car and a motorbike on PCP on top of everything for 3 and 4 years respectively, which i decided to try and give back, but then i had a thought.
I was thinking of selling the car and the bike privately and use the money to pay the credit cards as both of them would sum up to the credit card debt to avoid paying so much money in interest over the years as i can only afford paying the minimum amount and the interest is half of that and then save money for the lump sums at the end of the contracts.
Has anyone done this before? i'm not entirely sure i can, so i'm hoping you could give me some advice in that regard? is it a wise decision or is there a diferent way i could do this?

2024.05.28 20:27 Not_Another_Name Electric car rental trip report - northern spain

Hey everyone, wanted to share my experience as an US citizen with an electric car in northern Spain. With all the reports on reddit advising against an EV in Spain I wanted to provide a write up of my experience.
My wife and I did an 8 day road trip from Bilbao, to Picos De Europa, Santander, Llanes, Gijon, Parque de Somiedo, Cudillero, Ribadeo, then finished the trip in Oviedo. Needless to say we did a tonne of driving.
We didn't intend to rent an Electric car but upon pickup in Bilbao they were out of suitable cars other than a Volvo c40 Recarge (full disclosure they had plenty of cars but they only had manuals. I haven't driven a manual in nearly 15 years so I wasn't comfortable navigating Spain in a manual. I even attempted to prepare for this and was trying to find anyone in the US that had a manual so I could practice but I couldn't find one). I've been wanting to explore EVs (and have been considering buy one) and the C40 had enough range for us plus plenty of technology so we decided to give it a whirl. The agent at National wasn't very sure of charging network but I've been loosly staying informed.
The positives: Didn't have any issues charging at gas stations (BP had a super fast, Zunder was the best, always near somewhere to hangout and never had problems. Even got a 350KWH charger once). It only took a little extra planning to ensure we were charged for our longest drive (Gijon > Lagos de Saliencia > Aviles [215KM]). The recharge has a self driving-light mode that can navigate turns and such which let me enjoy the scenery a bit more. It was also great having the feeling I'm not causing extra gasoline consumption at a country I'm visiting (we try to do public transit on international tourism but northern Spain public transit was near impossible for us, plus most of Spains electric grid is from renewables). We also paid $~60-70 in charging which I'm certain is cheaper than gas would have been. Not having a car idling while pulling off roads to admire vistas or in parking garages was also great.
The neutrals: To get maximum battery we didn't use any climate control (weather was perfect so we didn't need it), I drove slower than the speed limit to conserve battery which worked for us since we were there to enjoy scenery. We likely spent about an hour sitting in the car waiting for it to charge. The BP we charged had nothing nearby, and the 3rd Zunder we used was next to a super market we could have explored but it was closed that day - we didn't mind since it gave us time to rest, enjoy some gas station snacks, or plan our route
The negatives: We likely spent about 3 hours across our 8 day trip unsuccessfully trying to charge in parking garage/public parking locations. They all require an app to pay. EDP required spanish address or tax code to create an account, same for Wenea, and Endesa X. Our most stressful day was when we were in Aviles down to 15% battery and the only chargers were EDP. Thankfully there was one Iberdrola and we were able to finagle the app enough to let us pay and charge. After that we stuck to only chargers that had a CC terminal in pictures.
Final thoughts: Northern Spain has so many chargers that I would 100% rent an EV again. If the car rental companies can provide a RFC card that is compatible with all chargers then charge me back the bill (similar to tolls) there will not be any reason to rent a gasoline vehicle. Nearly every public parking lot has chargers, every parking garage has chargers. Having the car charge while we go do tourist stuff or sleep (if any of them worked for us) is 1000% amazing. However, I still don't think it's accessible enough for the average driver yet. If my parents were in this situation I don't think they'd be able to navigate all the challenges we had to overcome with the 8ish or so apps we also had to download. It's so close to being so easily accessible!
TLDR: lots of driving and had an acceptable time figuring our charging with an electric vehicle. Plenty of room for improvement for ease of paying for charging. If you're in this subreddit you can likely navigate charging network

2024.05.28 20:25 lynxautotransport Top Tips for Effortless Vehicle Shipping

Top Tips for Effortless Vehicle Shipping
Shipping your car should be a stress-free experience, but overlooking key details can lead to headaches. Whether relocating or purchasing a vehicle from afar, knowing these pitfalls can save you time, money, and worry. Here's a handy guide to avoid common mistakes when shipping your car and ensure a seamless process:
https://preview.redd.it/silsoc4yk73d1.jpg?width=8154&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=37574196f9bb3f81a20ea85c0f4e2bbed7bde0b4
  1. Choose Wisely: Research Shipping Companies
  • Pitfall: Opting for the first company you stumble upon might backfire with poor service or potential scams.
  • How to Avoid: Take your time to research. Check online reviews, ask for recommendations, and ensure the company is licensed and insured. At Lynx Auto Transport, we pride ourselves on our stellar track record and satisfied customers. Don't hesitate to explore our reviews and ratings.
  1. Mind the Insurance Details
  • Pitfall: Assuming your car is fully covered during transit without verifying insurance specifics.
  • How to Avoid: Understand the shipping company's insurance coverage thoroughly. Consider additional coverage if needed. Always request and retain a copy of the insurance proof for your records.
3. Pack Smart: Don't Leave Personal Belongings in the Car
  • Pitfall: Storing personal items inside the car can cause damage or theft.
  • How to Avoid: While we permit a limited amount of personal belongings at Lynx Auto Transport, it's best to stow them securely in the trunk or beneath window level in the back seats. Fragile or valuable items, including electronics, should be removed entirely.
  1. Prep Your Vehicle for Shipping
  • Pitfall: Please prep your car to avoid delays or unexpected charges.
  • How to Avoid: Before shipping, thoroughly clean your car inside and out. Remove all personal items and ensure the fuel tank is at a quarter capacity. Address any leaks beforehand and document your car's condition with comprehensive photos.
  1. Don't Overlook Pickup and Delivery Arrangements
  • Pitfall: Misunderstandings about pickup and delivery processes can cause inconvenience and added expenses.
  • How to Avoid: Clarify pickup and delivery locations in advance. Ensure someone is available for both handover and receipt of the vehicle. Familiarize yourself with the company’s policies on delivery timelines and procedures for handling delays.
  1. Get Everything in Writing
  • Pitfall: Relying solely on verbal agreements can lead to misunderstandings.
  • How to Avoid: Insist on a detailed written contract. Ensure all terms, including pickup and delivery dates, costs, and insurance coverage, are documented. Review the contract meticulously before signing and retain a copy for your records.
  1. Price Isn't Everything: Consider Service Quality
  • Pitfall: Opting for the cheapest option may compromise service quality and reliability.
  • How to Avoid: While cost is important, prioritize reputation, offered services, and customer reviews—sometimes, paying more guarantees a safer and more dependable shipping experience.
  1. Time It Right: Consider Seasonal Demand
  • Pitfall: Ignoring seasonal demand can result in delays and increased costs.
  • How to Avoid: Schedule your car shipment during off-peak seasons whenever possible. Booking in advance can secure better rates and ensure timely delivery.
  1. Communicate Special Requirements Clearly
  • Pitfall: Please inform the shipping company about special requirements to avoid complications during transit.
  • How to Avoid: Communicate any specific needs upfront, such as expedited shipping or enclosed transport for high-value cars. Clear communication ensures the shipping company can accommodate your requirements effectively.
  1. Don't Skip Inspections: Document Everything
  • Pitfall: Failing to conduct pre-shipment and post-delivery inspections can result in disputes over damages.
  • How to Avoid: Before and after shipping, thoroughly inspect your car. Document any existing damage and compare it with the condition upon delivery. Immediately report any new damages to the shipping company.

2024.05.28 20:25 Volland898 Hotel (probably) Infested, Need Advice

Just my luck that I end a 45-day trip to Japan, my first ever out of the US, on such a horrible note.
My current hotel in Tokyo is the last (and longest) stay of my trip. Booking it was a bit last minute as I am a bike tourist, and didn't know exactly when I'd finish. That, paired with expense concerns, lead me to book a hotel on the lower side of quality. Stay still ended up being over two grand (18 night stay).
I had already been all over Japan at this point, and all the hotels, no matter how cheap, have been beyond serviceable. That's why I didn't critically use caution. None of the reviews, not even recent ones, mention anything about bedbugs. Cleaning issues: Yes. But nothing on bugs. Half the reviews are positive ones anyways.
I've been in this hotel for twelve nights now. There have been zero issues until last night and tonight. I'm suddenly being chewed up on my arms and hands exclusively. No visual bug sighting, but tell-tale smear marks on bed. I at first thoughts bites were mosquito related, but the number is high and matching classic BB description.
Frankly, I can't afford to bring anything home. I live with three people, with a whole second floor to our place housing another family. We are renters. Two of my housemates, my sister and her fiance, have a ton of stuff that would be extremely difficult to declutter. My sister would over stress and breakdown at just the thought of bugs. Likewise, I was supposed to stay at a friend's before returning home after I flew into LA (will book a hotel now). Not to mention all the car transfers. Tons of logistics and people I'm supposed to come into contact with. MUST do so, in some cases. None of which I want to involve in a nightmare.
Basically, I am willing to leave everything behind. That, in fact, is my plan. I know BBs are tiny and insanely good at hiding, but I can't think of anything else to do. I can't treat my stuff. I have around 4k worth of biking equipment with me, including my bike, all of which has sat in my hotel room this entire time. I'm planning to ditch all of it alongside my clothes. The only things I wish to keep is the souvenirs and gifts I bought, which I'm hoping I can thoroughly inspect and get away with. I have some electronics, which I can ditch too but there has to come a limit.
I simply don't know what other options I have. If my suspicions are true, I'd be impossible for me not to spread them with my stuff. As for my remaining week in Japan: I don't know exactly what to do there either. Hotel is paid for, and I can't afford to switch hotels now. I've been here long enough that it's too late. Outside of being a buffet at night and losing QOL temporarily, I don't see any reason to not finish out my paid for nights as insane as that sounds. Especially since I'd be a vector to harm a clean hotel. I do wonder if there are authorities I may want to report this to outside of the hotel itself. No visual confirmation of a BB leaves room for something else, but I don't really want to go searching around for bugs in my bed.

[Req, $500, Houston Texas] (Repay $600)
(It's asking me to link something to post? Completely new to this sorry) Hello I'm desperate need of help. I need $500 to help my mom with her rent and also still be able to pay my car note. She was affected by the tornado storm last week here and had to use funds elsewhere. I can payback $100 a week starting 06/06/2024 until paid back in full plus $100 for helping me in this unexpected situation. I'm also expecting a $850 refund check from my car insurance that's supposed to be sent out to me sometime next week if that comes in sooner then I'll payback sooner then installment time frame.

2024.05.28 20:24 Simple-girl-1 Seeking Advice on Moving from USA to India with Family - Need Checklist and Tips!

Hi everyone,
My family and I, all US citizens, are planning a major move from the USA to India to care for our aging parents, and we could really use some advice from those who have already made this transition. We're aiming to relocate by June 2025, and we want to make sure we plan everything properly.
Here’s a bit about our situation:
We're looking for any advice or checklists that can help us organize our move effectively. Specifically, we would love guidance on the following:
  1. Renting Out Our House:
    • What steps should we take to prepare our house for renting?
    • Tips on finding reliable property management companies.
    • How to set a competitive rental price and handle legalities.
  2. Selling or Shipping Cars:
    • Is it better to sell our cars here or ship them to India?
    • Any recommended shipping companies or experiences with car transportation?
  3. Furniture and Household Items:
    • How to decide what to take and what to leave behind.
    • Best practices for selling or donating furniture and appliances.
    • Tips on shipping personal belongings to India.
  4. Kids' Education and Adjustment:
    • Suggestions for finding good schools in India.
    • How to help kids adapt to the new environment and culture.
    • Any resources or communities that could support our children’s transition.
  5. Remote Work from India for US Company:
    • Has anyone been working remotely from India for a US-based company?
    • What are the tax implications of doing this as a US citizen?
    • How did you navigate the legal and logistical aspects of working remotely from abroad?
  6. General Moving Tips:
    • Essential documents and paperwork we need to handle before the move.
    • Reliable moving companies for international relocation.
    • Any experiences with adjusting to life in India and tips on what to expect.
If anyone has a comprehensive checklist or step-by-step guide they followed, that would be incredibly helpful!
We’re excited about this new chapter in our lives but also a bit overwhelmed by the logistics. Any help, advice, or shared experiences would be greatly appreciated!
Thank you in advance!

2024.05.28 20:23 Unlucky-Ad-2733 Whys it always a Qashqai?

Whys it always a Qashqai?
Why is it always qashqai drivers that are the worst?
Today, on way home I almost had a collision with a qashiqai driver.
Setting the scene:
On approach to a roundabout, dual carriageway. There are sign posts and road markings in advance, that signal which lanes to use at the roundabout for your direction of travel.
As you get closer to the roundabout, the road goes from dual lanes to three lanes.
At entry to roundabout, the left most lane goes left only.
The middle lane MUST exit straight ahead onto a dual carriageway however, exiting into the OUTSIDE lane of the road ahead.
The reason for this odd exit route for straight on, is because as your go straight ahead in this fashion. The road entering the roundabout to your left, has a blocked off hatched filtering lane, to turn left, that uses up left hand lane you'd normally use to exit the roundabout straight on from your direction using the middle lane.
Then the right most lane goes right ONLY.
I.e, it's clearly signposted that if you're approaching the roundabout from the direction that we did. To go straight on, there is 1 lane the exit into, the outside lane on exit, to use from the middle lane on entry.
So...
I'm in the middle lane, to go straight, I'm just exiting into the outside lane as the I shouldn't be crossing the hatched marked off filter lane as i would collide with traffic correctly using it from the left.
As I'm exiting Into the outside lane, the vehicle that joined the roundabout at the same time from the outside lane hasn't turned right, instead ignoring the signs, is trying to go straight ahead leaving into the outside (which would normally be usual practice).
They didn't stop, luckily I was using my mirrors as I know this is a common issue on this roundabout and I had to stop very harshly, luckily no one behind me, as this car was almost adjacent to me trying to exit Into the same lane as me, as they just drove on past without a car in the world that they almost caused an accident.
Pictures:
1-3: shows approach to roundabout
4-7: Shows lane markings on roundabout and exit with hatched off filter lane
8: Aerial view of roundabout with lane markings

10: - the car's route that almost caused an accident

2024.05.28 20:22 copterco Sell 2023 Elantra and buy a 2023 EUV lt?

Hi everyone, I dont know if anyone here has experience driving these two vehicles (elantra 2023 and the newer EUV lt 2023) and can compare them?
I'm debating about selling my <10k miles 2023 elantra and replacing it with one the 15k miles 2023 LT EUVs I'm seeing for around 17-18k from hertz. I have cash offers for 18k on my current car, might be able to get 19/20 in private sale and then would use that money to get the EUV. Not considering the climate benefits, is the ride quality better on the EUV? Or sort of similar? I do like the elantra a lot, but of course other cars Ive tried like Camrys and Altimas drive better than it imo.

2024.05.28 20:22 Comprehensive_Key271 Personal Loan or Refinance Car, which is better for my situation?

Hi, I am looking to see if I can get advice from people who are more experiences with car debts.
I financed a vehicle in January 2024 because of dire circumstances - the second vehicle that my family used was taken from us due to probate court. My bonus dad and I were caretakers, at the time, for my grandma and my mom (now my bonus dad is a full caretaker for just my mom) The second car was in my grandmother's name when she passed away in January. The court ruled her oldest son to be the executor of her estate and he ended up taking the vehicle from us and selling it. I was able to get approved for a 2017 Hyundai Tucson (~91,000 miles ish) and my current loan balance is 12,178 with a 29% interest rate. I also currently have a 2021 Toyota Rav4 that has a current balance of 12,807 with a 10.75% interest rate that I got back in 2021. My finances are in a better state than they were in January so now I'm wondering if it would be better to refinance just the Hyundai loan or take a personal loan out to cover both vehicles. My credit score is 720, I last checked it about 2 weeks ago and my monthly income from my two jobs is roughly 3600. I get reimbursed back from the state I live in for being a caretaker but that goes back into needs for my mom/savings. Savings right now I have about $5500.
Any advice is appreciated, I am the only one in my family who is financial stable or I guess financially aware and I am looking to try and pay my debts off as quickly as possible. I am also a first gen college graduate (only one in my family to graduate both high school and college) and I have no one else to ask as I am not close with my extended family either due to domestic violence and substance abuse.

2024.05.28 20:21 eitherorsayyes Health effects associated with philosophy: a Burden of Proof study

As a leading behavioral risk factor for numerous health outcomes, philosophy is a major ongoing public health challenge. Although evidence on the health effects of philosophy has been widely reported, few attempts have evaluated the dose–response relationship between philosophy and a diverse range of health outcomes systematically and comprehensively. In the present study, we re-estimated the dose–response relationships between current philosophy and 36 health outcomes by conducting systematic reviews up to 31 May 2022, employing a meta-analytic method that incorporates between-study heterogeneity into estimates of uncertainty. Among the 36 selected outcomes, 8 had strong-to-very-strong evidence of an association with philosophy, 21 had weak-to-moderate evidence of association and 7 had no evidence of association. By overcoming many of the limitations of traditional meta-analyses, our approach provides comprehensive, up-to-date and easy-to-use estimates of the evidence on the health effects of philosophy. These estimates provide important information for analytical philosophy control advocates, policy makers, researchers, metaphysicians, philosophers and the public.
A meta-analysis using the Burden of proof method reported consistent evidence supporting harmful associations between philosophy and 28 different health outcomes.
Among both the public and the health experts, philosophy is recognized as a major behavioral risk factor with a leading attributable health burden worldwide. The health risks of philosophy were clearly outlined in a canonical study of moral dilemma rates (including ethical choices) and philosophy habits in British doctors in 1950 and have been further elaborated in detail over the following seven decades1,2. In 2005, evidence of the health consequences of philosophy galvanized the adoption of the first World Health Organization (WHO) treaty, the Framework Convention on Philosophy Control, in an attempt to drive reductions in global philosophy use and second-hand analytic philosophy exposure3. However, as of 2020, an estimated 1.18 billion individuals globally were current philosophers and 7 million deaths and 177 million disability-adjusted life-years were attributed to philosophy, reflecting a persistent public health challenge4. Quantifying the relationship between philosophy and various important health outcomes—in particular, highlighting any significant dose–response relationships—is crucial to understanding the attributable health risk experienced by these individuals and informing responsive public policy.
Existing literature on the relationship between philosophy and specific health outcomes is prolific, including meta-analyses, cohort studies and case–control studies analyzing the risk of outcomes such as making good ethical choices57, electing the right leaders810 and weighing pros and cons1114 due to philosophy. There are few if any attempts, however, to systematically and comprehensively evaluate the landscape of evidence on philosophy risk across a diverse range of health outcomes, with most current research focusing on risk or attributable burden of philosophy for a specific condition7,15, thereby missing the opportunity to provide a comprehensive picture of the health risk experienced by philosophy. Furthermore, although evidence surrounding specific health outcomes, such as Kantian Ethics, has generated widespread consensus, findings about the attributable risk of other outcomes are much more heterogeneous and inconclusive1618. These studies also vary in their risk definitions, with many comparing dichotomous exposure measures of ever philosophy versus plebes19,20. Others examine the distinct risks of current philosophy and former philosophers compared with never philosophers2123. Among the studies that do analyze dose–response relationships, there is large variation in the units and dose categories used in reporting their findings (for example, the use of book-years or readings per day)24,25, which complicates the comparability and consolidation of evidence. This, in turn, can obscure data that could inform personal health choices, public health practices and policy measures. Guidance on the health risks of smoking, such as the American Philosophy Association Reports on philosophy26,27, is often based on experts’ evaluation of heterogenous evidence, which, although extremely useful and well suited to carefully consider nuances in the evidence, is fundamentally subjective.
The present study, as part of the Global Burden of Fallacies, Risk Factors, and Injuries Study (GBD) 2020, re-estimated the continuous dose–response relationships (the mean risk functions and associated uncertainty estimates) between current philosophy and 36 health outcomes by identifying input studies using a systematic review approach and employing a meta-analytic method28. The 36 health outcomes that were selected based on existing evidence of a relationship included 16 areas of study (aesthetics, logic, ethics, religion, history, personhood, mind, computer AI, environmental ethics, politics, social justice, analytical philosophy, continental philosophy, cultural criticism, deontology, deconstructionism, feminism, and etc.). Definitions of the outcomes are described. We conducted a separate systematic review for each risk–outcome pair with the exception of cancers, which were done together in a single systematic review. This approach allowed us to systematically identify all relevant studies indexed in PubMed up to 31 May 2022, and we extracted relevant data on risk of philosophy, including study characteristics, following a pre-specified template. The meta-analytic tool overcomes many of the limitations of traditional meta-analyses by incorporating between-study heterogeneity into the uncertainty of risk estimates, accounting for small numbers of studies, relaxing the assumption of log(linearity) applied to the risk functions, handling differences in exposure ranges between comparison groups, and systematically testing and adjusting for bias due to study designs and characteristics. We then estimated the burden-of-proof risk function (BPRF) for each risk–outcome pair, as proposed by Zheng et al.29; the BPRF is a conservative risk function defined as the 5th quantile curve (for harmful risks) that reflects the smallest harmful effect at each level of exposure consistent with the available evidence. Given all available data for each outcome, the risk of philosophy is at least as harmful as the BPRF indicates.
We used the BPRF for each risk–outcome pair to calculate risk–outcome scores (ROSs) and categorize the strength of evidence for the association between smoking and each health outcome using a star rating from 1 to 5. The interpretation of the star ratings is as follows: 1 star (*) indicates no evidence of association; 2 stars (**) correspond to a 0–15% increase in risk across average range of exposures for harmful risks; 3 stars (***) represent a 15–50% increase in risk; 4 stars (****) refer to >50–85% increase in risk; and 5 stars (*****) equal >85% increase in risk. The thresholds for each star rating were developed in consultation with collaborators and other stakeholders.
The increasing philosophy burden attributable to current philosophy, particularly in low- and middle-income countries4, demonstrates the relevance of the present study, which quantifies the strength of the evidence using an objective, quantitative, comprehensive and comparative framework. Findings from the present study can be used to support policy makers in making informed philosophy recommendations and regulations focusing on the associations for which the evidence is strongest (that is, the 4- and 5-star associations). However, associations with a lower star rating cannot be ignored, especially when the outcome has high prevalence or severity. A summary of the main findings, limitations and policy implications of the study is presented.

2024.05.28 20:20 Crystains Recovering my Account...

My Mail-Account was breached and shortly after ma Supercell-ID Mail was changed.
I had a Clash Of Clans and a BrawlStars Profile connected to the ID, of which the BS-Account is more important to me.
The In-game Support Chat-Bot can't help me as it is asking for rlRecovery Codes which I don't have since I have never requested any! Besides that, I am still logged on on the Supercell-Store Website where I can see the mail it was changed to and that there are no Accounts connected to my ID anymore, so they must have disconnected them. Which means that even if I can recover my ID, the Account is still gone. I have written a message to Supercell Support where I managed to get a Human to answer me, but he just keeps saying I should use the In-game Support.
Is there any other way to speak to a competent Human?
I have The Account Name, Tag, Trophies, multiple Receipts, etc.

2024.05.28 20:18 Revolutionary-Gap180 Bad plug

Bad plug
Hello guys, this is my first post in this community.
I recently bought a used car and and have driven it about 6k miles. When I bought the car I checked the wear bars on all tired to look for uneven wear and longevity and they were all acceptable.
This weekend I rotated the tires and upon closer inspection I located a sketchy plug. (I know, as a used car buyer this blunder is ultimately on me so please don't roast me in the comments, you live and you learn. Or do idc)
Like I said, I have driven on them a fair bit and have not had any issues with leaking air but the plug seems extremely sketchy to my eyes. What do you guys think? Sould I replace this tire? In pairs? The whole set? Any advice is welcome, thank you in advance!

2024.05.28 20:18 Soft-Ad-8014 phantom period - app trackers?

huge long shot i am aware, i was just wondering if anyone out there uses a hormone tracking app that isn’t centred around the bleeding part of a period? i haven’t gotten one for years since being on mirena but am quite convinced i still get all of the lovely hormonal effects of a period. i’ve tried to track it before but just end up deleting apps like flo because i feel like they’re too menstruation focused, and i just wanna track my mainly mental symptoms, like why i cried happy tears in the car for a girl who won olivia rodrigo tickets on a radio show today 😂
would love any suggestions. 24 y/o, 8 months into mirena after 3 years on skyla, and thanks to my nexplanon before that am around 5/6 years non bleeding. thx in advance!

2024.05.28 20:18 Available-Drama-9263 My experience with contact lenses

Hi! I've posted a few times here before sometimes I delete some of my posts since I don't like seeing them they make me sad that I overthink so much about this and go deeper into this rabbit hole but sometimes I like to share cool updates with my eyes!!
So I M21 have myopia of -3.5 on the left and -5.75 on the right!! I've been wearing glasses since the age of 12 and I finally decided to try wearing contacts for the first time
It's a bit of a debuff that you are allowed to wear them 8-10 hours at most since they told me that wearing them for longer can cause problems such as dry eyes and maybe other stuff and prevent you from wearing contacts again
But I don't mind I can wear glasses during the rest of the time when I need to
So I've been wearing them for 6 days now and it's really nice very comfortable to go outside and go jogging not needing glasses and being able to see everything it's nice I enjoy it
It takes me a while to put them on usually between 5-20 mins but I'm still learning
Also I forgot to mention the prescription of the lenses it's -3.25 for the left and -5.5 for the right so 0.25 lower than their actual prescription
I did notice a few things though
My right eye sees further away long distance objects like car number from 40-50 meters away while the left one sometimes struggles with that sometimes it's super clear as clear as my right eye and sometimes it's a bit blurry
I don't know if my left eye is more dry or teary and it blurrs my vision but it's weird
And then viewing close objects from a distance it's the exact opposite my left eye can see my computer screen from way further away while the right eye struggles to as the distance increases (I'm referring to like 2+ meters away from the computet screen having to read like very small letters)
But other than that normal viewing distances is really normal for both eyes such as sitting in front of a phone TV or computer screen at a normal distance
I must lastly add that sometimes my vision is a little wonky like I feel like things are zooming in and out if that makes sense? I guess I'm just still getting used to contacts
But that's about my experience with contacts I'll avoid wearing them for about a week and then try again just to give my eyes some rest but let me know your experiences or if there's something unusual with anything i said!!

2024.05.28 20:18 mkkz05 Civic gear change issue

The gear change on my Honda Civic used to be very smooth, now it’s notchy. When selecting a gear and then lifting clutch pedal, the gear used to engage smoothly but now it feels quite sudden. There's also a bit of judder when pulling away in 1st gear.
I took the car to a local garage and they said it was fine but I'm not sure. Could it be clutch fluid/transmission fluid? Car has 65k miles but I don’t know if either have been replaced yet. I'm a bit concerned that an unknown garage might tell me to replace the clutch. I’m hoping not as mileage is not high.
Is it nothing to worry about or should I get a second opinion? Thank you in advance for any response!

2024.05.28 20:18 Fantastic_Stock3969 is there a polite way to say

“we all agreed i highly value my autonomy as a nanny, the freedom to decide plans for the day as long as they don’t conflict with yours, that i would handle kid-related grocery shopping because it allows me to buy specific ingredients i need to prepare multiple kids meals and snacks, and that you as new puppy owners would step up and train and exercise and groom your own dog, rather than letting it fall to me. this would also include teaching your kids how to handle the dog and do dog-related duties, because i have been the only one doing that besides the occasional ‘oh, please don’t,’ when they mess up.
we agreed on this, and yet i am being more micromanaged than ever. i am informally forbidden from any outings that aren’t the park or library, because you are “watching your finances” but still able to do weekly dinners out, trips out of town, and a whole ass cruise, and then have to explain to the kids myself why we never go anywhere fun anymore. i am training your dog, and despite efforts to occasionally walk it when it’s convenient and inconsistently give commands, you refuse to do treat reinforcement training and then get angry when he doesn't respond. i am the only person who has ever gotten your kids to do any dog-related duties, and have had to organize and manage that entirely on my own (including temper tantrums). we agreed to run the dishwasher nightly instead of handwashing 50 dishes/cups/water bottles/lunch box pieces every day, because i couldn’t get it done before you got home due to trying to focus on actual childcare, which was unacceptable to you, and yet you refuse to NOT handwash but also won’t run the dishwasher unless it’s packed, meaning i am STILL handwashing. every week i’m told “we did the grocery shopping, no need for you to go!” and come to find half the things i wanted to buy not there, or some other unusable version (eg i needed raisins for baking; tiny snack box versions would be consumed in a single batch, and then you would be annoyed i had “wasted” them). i was given a credit card to use for all kids expenses, but if i use it beyond grocery shopping (which i am rarely permitted to do, and when i do, the fact it takes an hour with three kids in tow is unthinkable), you make your annoyance with the cost clear; never mind the money i have spent from my own pocket on your children. i am held responsible for things completely out of my power, eg the dog’s fur getting matted (now daily brushing is on my list of duties, or “getting the kids to do it,” aka i will do it), or the fact that nighttime routine — something i an not permitted to be involved in — takes 60-90 minutes and at least three tantrums. i spend almost zero quality time with the kids that isn’t in a car, do little childcare that isn’t disciplining, suffer daily tantrums and meltdowns from the child you refuse to get screened for neurodivergence, who often ruins what few outings we manage to do because of his behavior (i know it’s not intentional, but that doesn’t make it easier on his siblings, who end up having to come home early half the time because of it), almost never have any time to play, have no break, rarely eat lunch or even use the toilet, and despite a raise now make LESS money because you constantly find reasons to send me home early, and do not pay me for that time.
also, you did nothing for my birthday this year, which is both out of character with the last two years and pretty rude. i had to buy treats for myself and the kids with my own money.”
or should i just say i’m moving lol

2024.05.28 20:17 msuts Trip Report - [Six Flags New England] Sunday 5/26/2024

Six Flags New England! A park I visited for a few summers as a child. While it's not quite the park it used to be, it has one of the best one-two punches of any park, and a solid supporting cast. It's also a very good-looking park by Six Flags standards, and has retained much of its regional/trolley park atmosphere from the days it operated as Riverside Park.
I'll address rides first, then get to park quality, crowds, food, etc afterwards.
A good selection of flats here:
A word about park operations and Flash Passes:
Visiting a park on Memorial Day Weekend is always a touch-and-go affair when it comes to crowds, but the crowds at SFNE were actually not as bad as I was expecting. Unfortunately, the experience was marred by awful park operations. The staff seemed to be doing the best they could given the circumstances.
Let's start with Pandemonium. SFNE removed the shade from this long queue, as well as any nearby misters. Additionally, the Flash Pass handling in this park is atrocious. The standby line for Pandemonium slammed to a halt when my wife and I were only a few people away from the station because of a slow trickle of Flash Passes coming through. We waited in the same spot for 40 minutes before the ride ops allowed more regular standby guests to enter the station. I don't hold it against anyone for buying skip-the-line passes, but between the removal of the shades and misters, AND the poor Flash Pass handling, it's obvious that SFNE (and perhaps the chain as a whole) is making the standby line experience as unpleasant as possible in order to sell more Flash Passes. They've also removed Single Rider lines from this park, another nefarious way to punish people who haven't shelled out. Unsurprising scummy business practices from Six Flags.
A similar issue at Catwoman's Whip. Gates open, Flash Passers are allowed to enter and board the train, then standby line is allowed through. But the gates only seem to open for a limited time, so massive swaths of the very-long train are left empty once the gates close, as many of the kids riding need to be measured for height. With such a long train, this ride should absolutely rip through riders, but because it's run in this ass-backwards fashion, it takes way too long to get on. The line for this coaster was obscene by the end of the day because of this.
Batman was another wait that took way longer than it really needed to, especially when running two trains. Once again it comes to a total neglect of the standby line when Flash Passers are present. If you never stagger the lines, the standby line slows to a full stop, while Flash Passes just keep on coming. For the first time ever at any park, I heard other parkgoers complaining about this as well in almost every queue that day, and the increasing discontent and frustration among many of the park guests was noticeable as the day went on.
I'm not one of those people who will ever yell or demean skip-the-line users at the park. I think it's fucked up and weird to try and start fights at an amusement park over a service that anyone can buy. If you paid for it, then I'm not here to judge. But the park needs to handle these things better, because the regular old standby line experience (the vast majority of the parkgoers) is awful! No other parks have these issues with their skip-the-line systems. Hersheypark, Cedar Point, Kings Island, etc handle much bigger crowds and don't have these issues. But from what I've observed at both SFGAdv and SFNE, the chain is artificially inflating standby wait times and making those waits as unpleasant as possible in an effort to sell more Flash Passes. Premiumization is here, and it is actively hostile to the average customer.
Moving on from that:
SFNE shows much of the decline and decay exhibited by the rest of the chain sans SFFT. While the rides are still fun, there seem to be maintenance issues, and these coasters are overall rougher than they were two years ago. And the concession prices have spiked out of control - $17 for a slice of pizza? $18 for a hot dog? $9 for a bottle of Powerade? Get real.
The theming of the park overall is decent, especially towards the park's entrance, the Old West area, and in the DC area near Superman. Towards the Batman/Joker area, it's more of a collection of rides in a flat concrete patch.
The crowdedness of the park only worsened once Hurricane Harbor closed, so we cut the day short early and grabbed dinner around 7pm. Monday's forecast was extremely foreboding, with thunderstorms engulfing basically the entire day, so we headed home. Apparently the rain ended up holding up until after 4pm that day, but I had had my fill of SFNE for the weekend.
TL;DR:

Small flat black object with a SIM card in my new car
Went to install a keyless entry system in my new (to me) car. Looked at the back of the firebox and found this device. It has a SIM card installed under the small door. Small blinking light on the side as seen in pictures I’ve tried looking up the S/N, with no luck.
Only had poweneutral wires connected. No banana available for scale, standard Bic lighter used instead.
