2024.05.29 02:15 Real-Barber4595 Help me with the meaning of my dream.

Being in another country, my dream was completely in ukraine (my motherland). Usually my dreams don’t have a full background, as it may consist of different places i’ve been to, but this time it was so accurate, the scene had every small detail as if i was just walking back home.
I saw this little fox laying on the grass and went to pet it, we were playing at first and then i noticed that it’s leg was broken, so i picked it up and decided to take it to the vet.
As i was walking down my street i noticed a person who fell from his bicycle, laying on the ground, getting kicked with legs by other people around him. I wasn’t panicking and i wasn’t even thinking of helping him, i was more worried about getting my fox to the vet. When i was walking by all of those people were looking at me, basically just staring, but they didn’t do anything, after that they just continued beating up the man on the floor. Then i proceed to find some officers and ask them if the vet was in “this” building, they said no and told me to go to the one that’s next to us. It was kinda weird as the officers were close to the fight that has been going on but still didn’t do anything.
When i came to the vet, i met three women, one of them was an old woman, and two girls, probably around 18 yo, her daughters. I explained the situation and gave my fox to that old woman, followed by her words “we’ll get it fixed” and then she just left to another room. One of her daughters started telling me about the vacation they’ve recently been on, and i started spacing out completely. What i mean is i actually started seeing all the views and mountains that she was describing, but then something pulled me out and i was back in that room with daughters. Didn’t even let me say a word, one of them asked me if i want to get my nails done, but when she was about to finish doing my first hand, i took it away from her and jumped out of my chair, asking where my fox is. Everyone was so confused and i understood that they don’t have it.
As i said at the beginning, the scenes in this dream were really clean, but that was until i came back to my apartment after the vet. It wasn’t even my room, i just sat in a black cube full of darkness, i was cuddling my knees while sitting on the floor, feeling so empty, like something that i had for ages was no longer here with me.
I woke up with tears in my eyes and i didn’t know what to do. I was literally so lost and even now i have a feeling like something’s missing.
I believe that each dream has a meaning and usually after all my dreams i come up with one, but this time i have no idea what it could mean.

2024.05.29 02:14 Fine_Ad_9168 Rack box mockup

Rack box mockup

In an effort to make the rig as easily portable and trouble-free as possible, I'm considering putting my Pedal Baby and my Phenyx Pro PTG-11 wireless receiver in a rack box. I already have the rack box (an 9" deep 4U from prospeakerparts.com) and the rackmount kit for the Pedal Baby. The PTG-11 kit shipped with a rackmount kit. I went online to a freebie rack-layout-planner site to do this mockup. From top to bottom:
  • Phenyx Pro PTG-11 UHF wireless receiver (which actually works REALLY well)
  • Orange Pedal Baby 100 power amp (WAY louder than its size would suggest)
  • Furman M-8x2 power conditioner (the front-mounted outlet would send power to the pedalboard, thus keeping the power for the whole rig filtered and quiet)
The Furman box gives me room for expansion later on if I decide to go to a bigger rack box later (EQ?). The rack box fits on an extendable amp stand such that the controls are roughly waist-high for easy tweaking.
Thoughts?

Hi! I'm looking to sublet my room in a 3B/3B at Lark from this August till next July (additionally you can also find people for the summer months if you won't be on campus). Rent would be $750 with all utilities included, and parking included as well. The room is furnished and you have your own private bathroom. The other two roommates in the apartment are female as well. Please DM or comment if interested or if you have any additional questions! There are also bus routes to and from Lark-Campus, and it's fairly close to Walmart and other restaurants.

2024.05.29 02:13 Ok_Animator5398 It will be one year

In a couple weeks, it will be the one year anniversary of losing my best friend and son. It was within 2 days, I had to make the choice of euthanizing my husky. At only 7 years old, he was struck suddenly with IMHA (an autoimmune disease). I had him since he was 8 weeks old.
I can still clearly remember the night I was being informed of this horrible news. I remember him laying underneath of my chair as I'm being informed of his condition. I can remember the kiss he gave me before I had to leave the room to let them begin treatment. I can remember walking away, looking back and seeing him look back at me wondering why he wasn't coming with me.
But, the worst memory was the day I had to return and sign the euthanizing papers because he wasn't responding to the treatment. They had to wheel my boy into the room because of how weak he was from this disease. And as soon as he saw me, he tried to force himself up. I laid right next to him. I held his paw. I cried. It was a horrible day.
I cry now at the memory. This was not the expectation. I thought I had at least another 5 years with him. He was lean, healthy, very active and then one morning, he's dying before me. Average lifespans are 12 to 15 years. We were hiking around 25 miles a week. This was a life event that ruined me and I can't even begin to elaborate on what it did to me.
I don't even think the people in my own life understand the impact it had on me. I'm not married and I don't have kids. Everest was everything to me.

2024.05.29 02:13 RubberTrain Should you have extra support if you're in ratio?

In our 1.5-2.5 room the lead was out for a funeral. The assistant did open to close by herself. She had 4 kids and ratio for her room is 1:6. She also has a child with developmental delays that needs close watch. In my room today, we had 7 kids and our ratio is 1:7. I have two students with serious developmental delays, and one child with severe behavioral issues so I had someone in with me today. In the two 3-5 year old rooms they each had 3 staff and their ratio is 1:10 and they currently only have 10 in each room.
The assistant in the 1.5-2.5 classroom asked for help and both classrooms refused to help her out. They're acting like she's entitled for asking for help and getting frustrated when she gets none but I feel like someone definitely should've been put in her room? Is this fair treatment?

2024.05.29 02:13 ApprehensiveMud4806 going to adopt a kitten, but my family doesn't agree.

my cat, who was almost 14 years old passed away recently. i'm absolutely fucking torn.
i'm a suicidal person. i have been for as long as i can remember. i'm also a lonely person who has genuinely NEVER had a friend in person. my mom is a drug addict and my dad abused me until i was 13.
my cat was my escape. she was a disabled tiny little tabby who hated other people and i struggled to see the vet, because they told me they'd put her down if she bit them.
in the fall i staryed to notice signs of cognitive decline. the little cat i had that was quiet and reclusive yet somewhat cuddly towards me was now extremely vocal and demanded my attention 24/7. she started peeing all around my room. i knew there was a decline and tried to tell my mom, but she refused to pay for the blood panel.
CHF. that's what she died of. her legs were suddenly paralyzed one day and she couldn't breath, and finally, RELUCTANTLY, she was rushed to the er vet with my mom, aunt (whom with live with & rent from) and myself.
i had to make the decision the put her down in the same hour i got the prognosis. on top of that, even before we picked the vase to put her ashes in, my aunt told me, "we're splitting the bills 3 ways" and was laughing. i absolutely hate that woman with every fibre of my being.
3 days after my cat's death, i had to go back to the shelter i volunteer at. i bonded with a 6 year old extremely timid longhair cat, applied for her, got her to enioy being pet by me, just for someone else to get the adoption.
when i bawled my eyes out, i just started searching online. retail therapy is my thing. but eventually, i found myself looking for cats.
i came across a kitten online for $300. it's a fancy kitten from a non breeder, and she was the result on a mistake. instantly, i wanted her. i begged my mom.. and she agreed.
2 days later, she is saying no, because of my aunt. we called my aunt and she refuses. even though i'm bawling my eyes out, i will pay the adoption fee, the food, clean up after her, my aunt hates the smell of cat litter, so it's an automatic no.
she's never listened to me. everyone in my life has treated me like a young kid yet expected me to act like an adult and take care of my mom with her drug addiction. i have to graduate because she didn't. i have to empthasize with her and not be mad eveeytime i have to carry her ass to bed because she falls down so much and hit sher head. i had to watch her try to kil lherself and wasn't allowed to mention a single thing.
and she doesn't even remember.
my aunt has been the worse. she has done multiple things with the intent of "maturing me" and getting me away from my mom, all while saying she is my responsibility, and if i don't care for her, i'm the worse daughter. (her words). even though my mom puts off buying groceries and i live off of cookies and junk shit when i have multiple health issues that require a specific diet.
so i won't listen to them. i just will not. on friday i'm going to pick that kitten up and bring her home with me and bare the consequences. maybe i'll have to get rid of her. maybe i'll be grounded. but i don't care, because at least i am trying.
maybe she'll make her way into my life. i can only hope so, because i'm sick of being so alone everyday.

2024.05.29 02:12 Lazyandtalentless Why did it have to end up this way?

I did nothing wrong, and yet society had rejected because of who I am as a person. You’re automatically labeled as a freak just because you’re autistic. Society has never let me show off my good side. People are like, “Why do you stay in ur room all the time?” My answer to that question is when I’m in social events, it is quite evident nobody wants to talk to me. Nobody even asks me, “How’s your day going?” I’m sick of this.

2024.05.29 02:12 Sturdelle Recommendation for Australia up to about $1000

Hi,
Looking to get a projector for home use - we don't currently have a TV at all so anything is a step up, but also I have worked in film previously and do appreciate visuals/image quality so don't want anything too budget.
I've done some research and there looks to be a number of good options/paths to investigate, but my main question is probably about which style of projector to go for, i.e portable vs 'normal' style. I won't be able to ceiling- or wall-mount at present and would instead be pulling it out each time to put on coffee table and then storing away between uses... I anticipate this will be once a week or less cause we don't watch a lot, would mostly be for the occasional movie night with friends, so a small amount of setup isn't that annoying, plugging in a few cables etc. I won't be doing actual outside/portable viewing (though have done a few backyard movie nights using a normal projector in the past anyway). I reckon 90%+ nighttime viewing, room is not blackout but quite dark.
It's approx 3m/10ft throw distance, haven't bought a screen yet but can go big with that as I can mount the screen high and there's lots of wall space/no obstructions so that's all flexible (wall is 8ft high, 15ft long).
My assumption is that portable projectors lose some lumens/quality/longevity by virtue of being portable, so I am thinking that my best bang-for-buck would be a normal projector? Things like the XGIMI Halo come up as portable options, and do sound pretty solid/well regarded.
I'm open to used, though the second hand market is naturally a bit smaller in Aus given our population. End of financial year sales will also be coming up so likely some models on discount. Ideally would like to spend under about $800 but that's not fixed and I would prioritise something that will last for years. HD for sure but 4k wouldn't be a particular priority, though I guess that factors into future-proofing.
Thanks for any thoughts!

2024.05.29 02:12 KingBananaBird2 When try to drink a whole bottle of hot sauce in a job interview, but fail. (So funny) (Repost)

This is SO funny, I am reposting it and will repost it every once in a while.
From:
https://www.reddit.com/tifu/comments/2vdwtw/tifu_by_drinking_an_entire_bottle_of_louisiana/
I have had a number of job interviews recently that went poorly and did not result in securing employment.
I started to think I needed to do something during an interview to really stand out, be impressive, unique, and highly memorable. I thought it could be risky, but might work out.
I came up with the following idea: After concluding the interview, after the hand shakes, etc, when leaving the room stop, turn around, and say "There's one more thing you need to know about me."
Then pull out a bottle of hot sauce, down the entire bottle, slam it onto the ground and say "I can handle the heat." Nod confidently, leave the room.
Boom.
I imagined that they would be really impressed and wowed by such a performance.
Well it didn't pan out like I thought it would. It was only a small bottle of hot sauce, I figured it would be no big deal to actually do. I should have tested at home first, but I didn't.
I was nervous as a bitch-ass during the interview, but I was determined to follow through with the plan.
So I started exactly as described above. I was leaving, I turned around, maybe not with as much swagger as I'd imagined in my head, and I declared "There's one more thing you need to know about me."
I pulled out the hot sauce bottle, almost dropped it, and started to open the bottle. In my head it was all one quick confident motion, like an electric Indiana Jones, but instead I fumbled around and had a tough time getting it open. It felt like a nightmarish eternity but was probably only about 20 seconds. Enough time for one of the interviewers to ask me what I was doing.
I didn't answer directly. Instead, after I got the bottle open, I repeated "There's one more thing you need to know about me." (But stuttering.)
Then I guzzled down the entire bottle of hot sauce. I instantly regretted it. My mouth and throat felt like lava was swirling around inside me. I immediately started to gag and loudly cough, I was crying involuntarily. Tears hardcore streaming down my face. I was sweating like a terrible fool.
I desperately tried to scream "I can handle the heat" but just kept coughing before I could get anything out.
The interviewers were all standing up looking at me in horror and confusion.
A few seconds before I threw up all over the floor I knew it would happen, but I tried to hold it back. I couldn't.
I threw up all over the floor. It hurt as much on the way out as it did on the way in, if not more so. The vomit felt like flaming barbed wire shredding its way through my neck.
I should mention a disturbing amount of fiery mucus was also leaking out of my nose uncontrollably.
After I finished throwing up I could not bear to look at the interviewers. I hoarsely mumbled an apology and started to stumble as quickly as possible out the door.
I have never been more shamed in my life.
I didn't get the job.

A Game of Thrones - Small and Micro Hey there, folks! A bit delayed as some on the Discord might know but we have a surprise from the mines! Our folks have been doing a little investigative work recently and with some substantial success on their parts, the CK3AGOT team is happy to announce its first pair of official submods: AGOT Small and AGOT Micro. These performance-improving submods are designed for those whose computers struggle to run the world as currently presented by our team.
Focusing on reducing the resolution through quartering and then quartering again the amount of pixels from our terrain textures, they've seen marked improvement in both FPS and temperature in trade for some texture quality. As a pair, they seek to provide a scale of respite for PC's that can't help but feel the heat in Westeros. If that sounds a bit like your own tale, go ahead and download. Let us know how it goes! We're one hotfix down already!
DISCLAIMER: These are NOT compounding, DO NOT download both expecting double the performance improvement. These solutions also may not be universally successful
AGOT Small (For less intensive lagging):
AGOT Micro (For the potato):
Hotfix Build 1.1 // Downscaled vanilla terrain textures to avoid crashing on Vulkan.
We all hope you enjoy enhanced performance as you try to win your own Game of Thrones!

2024.05.29 02:11 02kira My dad ask me to be a sponsor for his wife to come to the USA

My Dad, a 60 year old man and his wife is 37. They have a child together. My dad is a citizen in the USA (originally from a Latin country).
For those who do not know. A sponsor is when you say that you are financially responsible for this person. They cannot ask any help from the government until they become a USA citizen or after 10 or more years.
They recently got marry so that he can bring her to the USA. I met her at some time but as a friend of my cousin. When she got pregnant my dad never told me or my sister, then they got marry and never told me. My sister and I found out by a family member ( it came out by accident).
My Dad does not make enough income to qualify for a sponsor. He ask my brother if he could do it but it got declined (since he has a lot of kids). Now he ask me and I told him that I will have to think about it. Well now, he is upset because for him, that’s a no. I do truly have to think about it for things that have happened in the past.
For more context When we came to the USA my dad finance a house and the co-signer was my brother (since he did not made enough money). Back then, the interest rate was pretty high. On 2018 my Dad decided to refinance the house but my brother’s credit was pretty bad so he asked me( since I had good credit back then). I said yes, without thinking about it. I have a lot of respect to my dad for bringing my sister, brother and I here since my Mom got separated from my dad. Then as soon as I became the co-signer of the house. He decided to go back to our home country and leave the house to me with all the responsibilities that came with it. He told me “I leave the house to you, this is your house now”. Also, he left a loan from the Bank to me, saying that he was going to send me money( he only send me 2 payments) but ask me to pay the loan for the time being. I paid off this loan so that he wouldn’t mest up his credit. I was 22 at that time, I had to rent some rooms to pay for the mortgage and bills. Around that time, I got a loan to replace the AC unit. Then 6 years later he decided to come back and in the process to bring his wife and kid here. Like nothing ever happened.
Currently I’m engaged and cannot marry because of this house that is in my credit. Just find out that I’m not even on the Deed. My fiancée and I are low income and would like to get a house but we cannot marry because this house is under my credit. There is a first time home buyer program that we would like to use but since I don’t qualify and if we marry he wouldn’t qualify either.
Going back to the story am I wrong for telling my dad that I need to think about it?

2024.05.29 02:11 BBboltz Help

I'm feeling quite nervous.
So my mother has been very angry at me all day, and I'm unsure why. She threw out the dried flowers I had hanging (they apparently fell) I was especially hurt because they were from my 18th birthday and ment alot. Then she comes out her room and says very annoyed and angry that she just can't look at the dead flowers I have hanging anymore and to get rid of them or take them to my room. She says there such bad luck.
It's also important to mention my mother also practices witchcraft. I'm new to the practice, so I know less.
Overall I just wanted to reach out to see if anyone agrees that keeping dead flowers is bad luck. And specifically as someone who worships and works with Hekate.
Thank you to any advice or help.

2024.05.29 02:11 Mental-Profile-9172 Working class is trapped in his class

Most societies have a class system. In some of them the working class is paid very low. In those systems is said that if a working class person make the effort he can improve his situation via social mobility. The problem I see is that there is not enough space in the middle class so if all the working class make the effort, only some of them will access the middle class, there is no room for all. Hence, the system needs a permanent group of people in the working class, so social mobility is an illusion, is like that the working class is trapped there. So, the system is immoral, is based in an illusion, and the less favored as a group are condemned to his predicament.
It can be said the same of the middle class, but the working class suffers more, I think.
Do you know philosophical works that explore this idea?
Thanks.

2024.05.29 02:11 TKWander Ghoulish Goods first Sampler review! *9 scent reviews*

OOOH. I was SO excited for these! I got an 8 pack sampler set (which they have a REALLY cool system where you can pretty much get as many samples as you like, and aren't limited to a 5 pack). They came in while I was away on a trip, so thankfully I got to skip a week waiting period and get to them after they had settled a bit, to try them out. Great TAT from this house (got them in within a week or two) AND you got to pick which Freebie you wanted, which was so awesome!
My review of this scent house so far: 4/5. It would honestly be a 5/5, but for that they have such a short wear period on my skin. Pretty much every 2 hours, I'd have to reapply :/ But, pretty much every single scent was really great and accurate to their scent descriptions, and I'll probably still FS buy a few!
Just make sure to slightly mix these guys up by turning them up and down a couple times (not so fast that you create air bubbles), to make sure the scent is fully mixed. You'll read in my notes, some of my first impressions when I Didn't do that. Don't make my mistake lol
My Rating System:
1/5: In my opinion this scent just smells really bad. I am not interested in the least. It is NOT my cup of tea and I would actively run away if I smelled it on someone else
2/5: Eh, it smells more like a scent for a cleaner or laundry detergent or maybe just a room scent. Not a perfume/cologne for me
3/5: Not my cup of tea, but It's well balanced and I could see someone else wearing it! Just not me lol
4/5: Almost perfect, just missing a scent note or two, or doesn't last very long, or dries down powdery/weirdly
5/5: I love this scent and will definitely be wearing it, if not FS-ing it!

Cottagecore No. 1:
Official scent description: It is a warm and inviting blend of blueberry cobbler, wood burning stove, and spice cabinet. It starts off sweet with a buttery rich crust and fresh picked blueberry cobbler. A whisp of spices cut through to break up the sugars. There's a background of smoke, musk and burning wood that lingers in the background but really comes to life on the dry down. The sweetness fades to meet merrily in a dance of oud wood, smoke, spice and cobbler. Feels like a cottage in the woods on a warm summer day after picking berries all morning. A fresh cobbler in the wood burning and comfort in your soul. A gender neutral scent that anyone can enjoy.
Top- buttery crust, cinnamon, incense
Middle- blueberry, brown sugar, wood smoke
Bottom- vanilla bean, oud, musk, amber
My review: Straight out the bottle, it is pure blueberry cobbler, but as it dries, it gets weirdly perfume-y? Very quickly, too. You still get the hints of blueberry, but this powdery note kinda overtakes it all.
After a little bit the powder dies down and do you get more of the buttery crust blueberry cobbler, but this one may not be my cup of tea, sadly :/
2/5
**after about 10 minutes the blueberry pops back up to a mix of spices and blueberries that I actually like! 3 or 4/5. I do wish it had a bit more blueberry throw AND didn't have that weird powdery burst at the first dry down. A very fruity comforting fall scent, I think. Yeah, I really like it for a fruity fall scent**
**UPDATE*\*
I had to try this one a second time after that initial review. Just to try it after shaking it lightly, just a bit, to mix.
Wet I absolutely love this scent. It's giving start of fall and you're making blueberry pie or cobbler and it's spiced with fall spices and you even scraped out some authentic vanilla beans for the recipe and I actually don't get that weird strong powdery note at all! So, definitely make sure to turn samples from this house a time or two, to make sure everything is mixed, but not so much that there are air bubbles. After about 30 or so minutes it dries down to autumn cooking spices, mainly, with mainly a hint of a fruity scent. Still lovely though!
4.5 /5 it would be 5, but pretty much all the scents from this house go poof very quickly on me. All trace of it leaves my skin by 2.5/3 hours

MIDNIGHT CIRCUS
This one was my freebie. My brother and I are putting on a type of Dark Karnival -esque camping event this fall and I really wanted to get a scent to wear there lol
Official scent description: a dark yet lively experience of caramel popcorn, fire, lacquer floorboards and whimsy
Top- hickory, honey, incense, cinnamon
Middle- smoke, amyris, caramel, salt, praline, spice
Bottom- cedarwood, moss, oud, olibanum, amber, musk, leather, popcorn, butter, vanilla
My review: This smells exactly like you're walking around a fall carnival with a big bonfire going on in the middle. Essentially it smells like your favorite fall candle scent, but just a bit more complex with the wiffs of campfire smoke and cedarwood in there. Even though it's the end of May, I sniff it on my wrist and think it's gonna be chilly outside. That feeling you get when the seasons are changing.
Strongest notes on me: wood smoke (though I wish I got more hickory to it), spices (cinnamon mainly), carameled buttery popcorn, vanilla and maybe the honey, maybe praline? It all blends very nicely into a great, if slightly generic, fall scent
Notes I don't get at all: leather, moss, oud. Those are the notes that would probably make this perfectly complex, but I just don't get them out of it. It's pure fall gourmand. I'll probably layer this over a scent that has those notes and need sweetening
Enough of a throw that I get a wiff going about my day
last drydown: dries down to autumn spices, essentially. Reminds me of walking in Gatlinburg in the fall, through all the little shops nestled in the mountain amongst the autumn trees. Completely gone within 3 hours though
4/5

BLACK HONEY
Official Description: Black Honey is a sultry blend of Spiced Honey, black amber, cedarwood, tonka, and tobacco leaf.
My Review:
I like it! I just don't LOVE it :/
The spiced honey notes in this, wet straight on my skin, are my favorite parts, though there is a weird 'Clean' note behind it as an undertone. Maybe it's the black Amber or the tonka. I've been running down a dead note for myself and one of those might be the one. The strong Clean note blends back down into the other notes, after a bit, though. But, going back to it after about 30 minutes, it does still smell very 'clean' smelling. Like, I showered with a dark spiced honey shower soap.
Sadly, I think honey may just be a note so good note for me. So far, it always goes soapy/clean on me :/ I'm hoping it's not just the Honey note in particular, and more just an underlying note or two that generally gets paired with Honey. Otherwise, honey may be a dead note for me :/
Long drydown: it smells like I just stepped into a specialty soap shop. The ones where they sell soaps, beeswax, and honey. And by afternoon my skin just smelled lightly sweet from it. Not my favorite for most days, but maybe on occasion, or to layer in a honey note to my darker more witchy scents
3.5/5 *sigh* I really just want a dark spicy Gourmand honey. Can anyone give me any suggestions for that?? a Honey scent that DOESN'T dry down clean and powdery??

Haunted Library
Official description: This scent will transport you to an old Victorian library. With ceiling high wooden book shelves, Creaky floorboards, leather bound books covered in a blanket of dust, fragile yellowing pages, and musty tufted chairs. Wafting through it all is the scent of sweet tobacco- the scent of the spirit that haunts these walls.
Top- Teakwood, tonka
Middle- cedar, leather, sweet tobacco, molasses
Bottom- sandalwood, Patchouli, mahogany, dark musk
My Review: a VERY light scent. Wow. Make sure you turn up and down a bit to really make sure the scent is fully blended, cause I could Barely smell it out of the bottle. It's a bit Cleaner than what I think a haunted library would really smell like. But, maybe like a lady ghosts' personal library? Overlooking the sea maybe? It weirdly gives off Cape Cod/Northeast coast/maine vibes to me. Like a Ladies Library in a Newport mansion.
I'm generally more of a sweet fruity over complex herbally scent person, or really cool gourmand scents, but I actually really like this scent! I have no clue in what instance I'd wear it, but I really do like it. I'll probably use it to give a tea or vanilla scent more complexity, or after wearing them, maybe even layering it with Stains of scarlet (down below). I don't get too much of the individual notes, but they all blend Very nicely for a femme leaning unisex scent!
As it dried the dust notes got sharper and the molasses got brought out more. First out the bottle, the wood and pachouli notes are a bit stronger. I still don't really get any leather though. My kingdom for a good strong leather scent! Lol. This is like a dainty haunted library, haunted by one of the Bridgerton ladies lol. Sweet, slightly dusty and papery, with a light hint of nostalgia and faded sweet perfume….Oh my goodness, this is Eloise's scent lol, to a T
4/5 only really because it's not really my vibe and this scent house goes poof too fast on me. All the scents from this house poof in about 2.5/3 hours

White Magic
Official description: White magic is an herbaceous blend of sage, lavender, incense and eucalyptus. The sage, lavender and eucalyptus are balanced equally where the incense is more of a background player here. This blend feels clean and comfortable and wears beautifully. Sage can be an off-putting smell to some put it is added subtly to not shine over the lavender. It rings to me, as a comforting freshness that I can't get enough of. This is a gender neutral scent.
Top- lavender, bergamot, pine needles, eucalyptus
Middle- chamomile, sage, camphor, rosemary, pepper
Bottom- Cedar, Sandalwood, incense, Orris root, amber
My thoughts: First out the bottle my first thought was YES!!!!!! Finally a lavender scent that doesn't smell powdery or like laundry soap! It does smell a wee bit Clean, but I think that's more the nature of any scent with these scent notes, since they're used in cleaning supplies and soaps so often. But, this scent is a Super green floral. No powdery note to my nose at all! (and I pull powder like CRAZY lol, it's been a problem for me since I hate powdery scents). This scent transports me to a spa shop full of fresh drying Eucalyptus, sage, and lavender. By the last drydown, the Eucalyptus is the strongest note
4.5 out of 5, only because this scent house goes poof too fast on me. All the scents from this house poof in about 2.5/3 hours ______________________________________________
Memento Mori
Official Description: an intriguing blend of smoked vanilla, dark spice, patchouli and black amber.
Top- smoke, clove, white pepper, blood orange Middle- sandalwood, jasmine, amber, nutmeg, black pepper, cardamom seed Bottom- black amber, vanilla, dark musk, benzoin, amyris, patchouli, cassia bark, ebonywood, dark musk
My review: Not gonna lie, this is almost chrismasy. Like a Dark Yule vibe. The dark spice in there completely reminds me of late fall/early winter spices. It's definitely going to be a fall/winter scent for me. Smokey spiced vanilla and clove. It'll be perfect to mix with an Apple scent to add more Autumn/early winter complexity! It gives walking in late fall/crisp winter when the leaves are almost all gone and you have a cinnamon chai warm in your hands walking out in the cold, vs Midnight Circus which gives off Fall carnival with smoky campfire vibes
By the end of the drydown (1.5 hours, maybe 2), all I get is cinnamon and maybe some other spices, Very light sweetness coming from the vanilla. This'll be a good mixer with some of my more sharp winter woodsy scents from Pineward, for a great late fall/winteyule scent!
4.5 out of 5, only because this scent house goes poof too fast on me. All the scents from this house poof in about 2.5/3 hours

Nightshade Elixir
Official Description: Nightshade Elixir is an intoxicating blend of deadly nightshade, Moonflower Nectar, Elderberry and absinthe. There is a mysterious quality to this blend that keeps it from being too sweet from the berries or too floral from the Moonflower. There is a perfect blend of fruity, floral, spice and mystery. It starts out on the sweeter side to draw you in (from the black currant and agave), before the deadly dark side starts to shine through on the dry down with black tea, saffron, absinthe and Anise. An all together delectable and mysterious blend that will keep you coming back for more
Top- saffron, anise, agave
Middle- Black current, black berry, jasmine
Bottom- amber, tonka, dark musk, black tea, absinthe, dark musk
My review: Okay, this one does go a bit on the powdery/clean perfume vibes. But, I do still like it?? Very strange, considering I hate clean/powdery scents, but this one balances the Clean notes with a juicy fruity flowery vibe that it balances things quite nicely and I can't stop smelling myself. There's a sharp powdery note in there, though, that keeps me from giving it a 4/5. I've narrowed it down to either the Amber or dark musk or tonka. Whatever it is, it's totally a dead note for me. It's popped up in a few other scents over the samples I've gotten, and it's been quite annoying. I May add something a bit juicier to this. But, it almost gives Spring Fairy Queen vibes. fruity and florally, but also a bit perfumey and stringent
3.5/5 I do like it, it's just a bit too powdery perfume-y for me. Under a pear or other fruit scent, I think it would be quite nice!

Black no 1
Original description: This scent was inspired by Type O Negative's song, "Black No.1", with notes of crisp fall leaves, burning cedar, smoke and incense.
I wanted to capture the essence of burning leaves as well as autumn air, a faint whisp of clove cigarettes, freshly dyed hair and wolf skin boots. The scent opens up with deep Notes of leather, incense and smoke. Then, brightens slightly with spiced fruit in autumn air, intermingled with warm amber. Wrapped up on a base of burning cedar and musk. This is a deep, gender neutral scent, not for the faint of heart
Top- incense, cedar leaf
Middle- green leaves, smoke, pine, spiced fruit
Bottom- cedar, amber, musk, leather
My review: Ooh, you DEFINITELY get the spiced fruit. Where Memento Mori you get a late fall Slightly into Winter vibe, this scent is ALL winter vibes. Like you're drinking mulled berry wine and christmas shopping downtown, so there's a tinge of cold in the air and incense/fall scented candles are lit in the stores. This scent house REALLY likes its cinnamon note. Those spices are the strongest hit in this, first on my skin. Straight spiced mulled fruits
4/5 but only because the scent description notes of 'clove cigarettes, freshly dyed hair, and wolf skin boots' kinda gave me the vibe that it would be more a kickass chick wearing a leather jacket- kind of scent, but it's more a straightforward CHRISTMAS scent lol. Did not expect that vibe from the original scent description. If the leather and smoke and leaves and cedar were more prominent, maybe. I just REALLY want a good leather scent :/
_____________________________________________
I hope this review helps out someone looking for new samples to try!
Also, if anyone could recommend a really good leather scent...please hook a girl up? ;)

2024.05.29 02:11 Straight-Lab-4459 I (27F) want to leave my fiance (30M)

AITA? Back story (I’ll try to keep it short) We have 2 children together, we’ve been together for 6 years, engaged for 3. Held off on the wedding because it wasn’t a smart financial decision after starting new jobs. Hes always been a very cut & dry person, monotone, doesn’t get excited about things, but oddly enough gets excited talking to his friends/family. Maybe I’m the prob LOL.
BUUUUUTTT he’s been down right mean lately. We had a heated argument and I’m going to be honest, I was rambling and saying some things that could’ve came across as disrespectful (not toward him, I was talking about someone else) and he was listening and out of nowhere said “can you just shut the fuck up? Shut the fuck up, just shut up” so I did??? Because hello, you told me to lmaooo. Well, I left the room and he followed me and said something but I didn’t hear him, mainly because I was thrown off by him cussing at me like that and he never has cussed AT me, so he follows me and I’m crouching down getting an outfit out of the dresser and he’s looming over me asking “are you fucking deaf? Hellllooo??? Are you fucking deaf?” At that point I don’t remember what he said but he was being mad disrespectful. I caught bits and pieces of him saying I’m always nagging & bitching, which isn’t true. I’ve never asked him to do anything for me or give me anything beyond asking him to clean up the house never something I wouldn’t do myself, but I swear to God it was like something clicked in my brain and I’ve decided the way he talked to me low key made me feel dumb & gross? Idk why I felt gross, like he was talking to me like he’s above me? Anyway, it’s tough because I’ve noticed he’s been more angry with me and disrespectful. Ive caught myself just wishing I didn’t have to be around him at all after that. I feel bad because I don’t want to have the conversation with him & explain to him why I want to leave bc it’ll just turn into an argument and he’ll start gas lighting me, so I just want to pack my things & our kids’ things and leave. I hate to be that type of person, but I can’t help but want to run away lbvs.
