Buying projector lamps overseas

Need to sell a US/UK electrical tool but live in France, how do I do ?

2024.06.09 15:44 AggressivePizza_2710 Need to sell a US/UK electrical tool but live in France, how do I do ?

Hi everyone, I bought a Hakko soldering iron two years ago and didn't have the opportunity to use it right away since it was a replacement for another dying soldering iron. At that time I just checked the package and all seemed good but today as my other soldering iron died I grabbed this new one and when I wanted to plug it in the outlet I saw that it had a US plug type and not a European plug also the object run on 120v and not 230v ...
I felt dumb and decided to check my options. I don't want to mess with its electronics internally and I don't want to buy a 230v to 120v converter as these things are pretty expensive so I decided to sell it but here's the catch, how do I do to sell it internationally ? On ebay it seems that my account need some sort of "success" like 10 feedback point and a first successful sale. On Amazon it seems to be a paid option. I don't really know other websites where I could go and purpose to sell it overseas.
Am I stuck with that foreign soldering iron ?

2024.06.09 15:41 TheLavenderLlama Start-up necessities?

Hi everyone, I recently started a cookie decorating “business” as a side hustle to my 9-5. I’ve really only made cookies for family and friends, but I have several people asking when I’ll be taking orders! I’ve taken a few decorating classes and I’ve read a few blogs, but I’m looking for the steps I should be taking to be able to fully open for orders. For those of you who have custom order businesses, what would you consider start-up necessities and what advice would you give to someone like myself? I’m also looking into buying a projector; I’ve seen a lot of suggestions for the Kodak Luma 150, but let me know what you suggest!

2024.06.09 14:44 Miserable_East_2364 Iso comfortable size 12 ballet flats

I have feet that can be painful easily. I also wear size 12 shoes so getting shoes that fit me and are comfortable and look good is very hard. I live in my Connie style Circus by Sam Edelman shoes and I've bought the same thing 3 times already since they're that good... But it looks like all the places to buy online are out of my size...
Any suggestions for ballet flat shoes (that I can ideally buy on Amazon or if not ship overseas) that are comfortable, don't press anywhere, don't have a heel, have a padded bottom... And come in size 12?

2024.06.09 13:40 cwrwdivin Help me make mind up

Hi y'all. I'm looking to buy my first projector for gaming and movies and figured you might be able to help me navigate.
It'll mainly be used indoor, projecting on a white wall at a distance of about 3 metres. There'll also be the occasional outdoor movie sessions, projecting from up to 8 meters away.
I'm in France and my budget is 500€ max. I've found the optoma hd146x, optoma hd28b and acer H6542BDK but I can't make my mind up.
Can you help me choose?
Thx!

2024.06.09 12:27 rambostabana Do I need tuning/cleaning? (beginner question)

Do I need tuning/cleaning? (beginner question)
TLDR: is this because of bad alignement or dirty lense or lack of calibration or lack of screen or just normal?
Intro:
Hey guys, we bought our first projector ViewSonic PX728-4K and we like it a lot already. It is ceiling mounted at 2,8 m(9'2") throw distance, projecting ~105" on the white wall. I followed some youtube guide for brightness and contrast calibration and we watched a first movie last night (1080p only because 4K player didn't arrive yet). Projector is aligned manually, without keystone or simmilar. It looks good to me (less than 10 mm difference when measuring edges), but will spend more time improving it.
Question:
Picture looks great, but there is some weird color behavior especially on the edge of the white text (example subtitle font). (The horizontal rainbow lines are only visible when taking a picture). I have read about Chromatic Aberration and dirty lense, but I feel lost tbh. I posted a few pictures of the screen with grid:
  1. On the left side of the screen - right edge of the line is blue
  2. The middle looks good
  3. On the right side of the screen - right edge of the line is green while left side of the line is blue
Another Question:
I have never touched a lense with a finger, but it does look like someone did. I have tried cleaning it with compressed air, but it really looks like a grease and it didn't come off. I'm planning to buy a lense cleaner or wet wipes. Is there any video guide how to clean it?
P.S. We will get a fixed screen once we settle on the screen size and position.
Any opinnion is welcome, thx in advance

2024.06.09 11:30 gauleh-dai So many jobs available yet Nepalese won't do it

There are so many job vacancies in Nepal yet Nepalese (esp. youngsters) won't do it. Job vacancies mostly on these fields - Hotels, Security, Retail, even cleaners etc. Here are the main reasons why Nepalese don't/won't work in their own country.
  1. Pride - too much pride, one you are from middle class, other being educated at high level results/subject/college
  2. Ego - Low level jobs you don't consider a job but then you are still one of those who bargain heavily at cheap price to even buy one pair of socks or to buy fruits from street vendor.
  3. Complain - too much blah blah, this good, this bad
  4. Judge - Judging without actually knowing by yourself
  5. Comparison - Comparing between yourself and other, Nepal and Overseas, Gender, Class, Education etc.
  6. Mindset - Your mindset is puzzled, you rely on others, make decision based on strangers, social media even though some do advice greatly but when something goes wrong, you start to blame/hate them.
  7. Nepali society - you work hard on your study, you learn lot of things and even experience few things, you know what's right, what's wrong, you speak highly of yourself behind the screen, you think your thoughts are better, you think others don't have much knowledge than you. Most Nepalese youngsters are very smart, well educated, yet they cannot take action due to the surroundings of Nepali society around them.
My parents did not let me do that, what will my neighbor think? What will my friends/relative think? If I start to work as a cleaner or security guard when my field is IT but I haven't got job, it's hard, so much stress, life sucks! Blah! Blah! But you have found the cleaning/sales assistant/security guard job yet you won't do. All because of above reason and many more. Same jobs, you do it abroad, not just because of good pay but you totally can let go those above points because you are not in Nepal.
Note: after reading some comments, the only thing you can think of is low pay? Instead of being jobless and wandering around hopeless expecting easy money or even free money from your relatives from overseas, Why don't you work at these low pay jobs first until you find the proper one you think?
Low pay jobs, what an easy excuse! It's Nepal, Hello! What are you expecting? See now you are comparing, that is one of the point above mentioned clearly and is one of the reason you just don't want to work but blah blah!
Harassment by employers? It's everywhere in this world. If you are jobless, you work whatever you find to feed your family, even if it's just too little to cover the expenses but at least you get that little amount rather than not getting anything by being jobless. Then you keep looking for better pay job while still working on low pay job!
These Nepalese people really think highly of themselves, pride? Ego? But then same people bargain at street vendor is such a two faced. You can also work as a street vendor if you haven't found the job yet but you can't! Well the problem for not getting job is not due to country Nepal but yourself! Your pride, ego, judgement.

2024.06.09 11:14 achris240 Is this okay size for a crested gecko?

Is this okay size for a crested gecko?
H160cm, W41cm, D36cm.
I was considering picking this up for my adult crestie. The seller is including a heat mat and some fake plants as well.
I already own a low output heat lamp perfect for cresties and all the additional equipment needed to keep a crestie happy.
My main concern living in the UK is that winters are quite cold, and an enclosure of this size may be too large to keep the temperature at an adequate temperature.
I was thinking of buying some back and side panels to help insulate heat, and alongside the heat mat and heat lamp should provide enough heat for him to live comfortably in the winter months.
I also understand due to the size he may struggle locating his food bowl but that's not a concern to me as I have plenty of wall mounted bowls and ledges to feed from.
What's everyone's opinions and any advice on insulating large reptile enclosures in colder climates?

2024.06.09 11:14 vashwoods LED mini dot OR Bidou lamp?

OK i'm having such a hard time deciding which to get...lol!! i need some help. 😭 Yes, i have also started with a sunUV (sunuv1) and im paranoid its not curing even my cheap gels up to par. Soooo..... an upgrade is def needed since i really want to start trying out kokoist + NT tinted base gels and light elegance (especially their p+ glitters) BUT i cant decide what would be a better fit since these are the ONLY two ive found in my budget that seem to be trusted pretty solidly for the higher end gels.
On one hand, the minidot is superrr small and LED only, but i cant think of any big polish brands that is UV only that i would be missing out on with that? (please lmk) I think i have also seen one person talk about how it doesnt cure the sides of their nails in one cure alone or something like that.. so im curious what other issues people have with this lamp?
Then of course theres the bidou and one thats been recommended a lot on here!! full size lamp and still in my budget, ive seen it said it does cure kokoist for sure (i forget if anyone uses LE with it) but i think buying it would be a no brainer besides the fact after watching the nail hub videos i just cant get this paranoia about LE lamps being like the only truly ''reliable'' ones out of my head (because they go so hard riding for LE >.> i know thats not true, its largely my anxiety. ) I dont know!
Honestly i just want to know confidently i wont have to re-invest anytime super soon while having peace of mind to continue my practice with gel extensions and polish safely! Any help or advice is greatly appreciated.

2024.06.09 10:53 OrpheusShesha UA or not

Currently almost to the point of getting Stone of Rage, about 40T away. I also got Total Sale and Sacred tome of death pack on this same run, and i can't buy Jewlery Case or Magic Lamp because I need to UA to activate the Sale, and the same for SK Alpha. Help with dimming non-smart lights
Hello, it’s been a while since I’ve purchased anything smart. I’m not super up-to-date on the latest released products and how to tackle certain things, so I’m looking for advice here.
TLDR: timebased brightness scenes with hue motion sensor on dumb G9 bulbs
I use: - homeassistant, google home, and homekit. Everything is interconnected through homeassistant. Actively use all three. Google assistants around the house for quick commands and scenes. HKSV for fast video access & quick watch or phone actions.
I have bulbs, appliances and switches from ikea, hue, aqara and probably some off-brand stuff. I just buy what I need for the best price I find and fix its interoperability myself. I do have a strong preference for certain scenarios. Like: hue motion sensors are by far the fastest responding for me. And I refuse to purchase anything from Shelly as 3 out of 5 L1’s have died on me within a year and setup is just a major pain. Plus they’re the only items that just randomly go offline.
Now my problem: I used to have a hue bulb in the stairway activated by motion and this day/night colour scheme from Homekit. During the day I’d like it to be white & bright. Evenings more yellow. And after 12PM at 1% dimmed for bathroom trips out of bed. My spouse purchased a designer lamp that fits a weird G9 bulb. I see hue doesn’t have this fitting size and the light doesn’t fit a G9-to-e14 converter. So I just went out and bought a hue wall switch module. Only to realise that only works with hue together. Same for dimmer switches that have a “friends with hue” label.
I know I can get a sonoff or aqara relay behind the wall switch. Mostly leaning to this, but that still doesn’t allow me to set different brightnesses
So my question is. How can I setup the hallway g9 bulb (dimmable) with different brightness scenes that works with the hue motion sensor?

2024.06.09 10:40 eMMePlays ZBBridge Pro, Tasmota and HA questions

Hi everyone, I am a happy Tasmota user since v8 but a HA newbie.
I have various devices: dual for roller shutters, 4 CH for the garden, sockets, bulbs ... all wifi with Tasmota fw that are showed in HA too, but mostly used stand alone (WebUI/Alexa).
Lately, I have been evaluating the switch to Zigbee and I have identified the Sonoff ZBBridge Pro as a possible candidate.
Looking and reading online, I noticed that everyone talks about MQTT, ZHA, Raspberry, but no one about on-device use (ZBBRidge).
The peculiarity of Tasmota has always been to free the device from Vendor Lock and to allow the user to use it with the same functions provided by the Vendor, but locally and without having to use the proprietary app.
This allows me to turn on, turn off, change intensity/color etc.. directly from the device.
In addition, thanks to the emulations, it could also be controlled vocally by Alexa etc..
Now my questions:
Obviously I'm talking about the WebUI, because it is not contemplated to send commands via terminal to turn on/off a lamp ...
I want to understand if I buy a Sonoff ZBBridge Pro and mount Tasmota on it, will I be able to use it like its Vendor Locked counterpart, which allows me to turn on/off/change the associated devices with its app and via the internet from servers who knows where, but it allows me to do it ootb, without to set up things or add it to HA to use it (like the wifi Tasmotized devices can let me do). Because if i have to add it to my HA to get it works, i'll buy the ZBkey.
Thank you

2024.06.09 10:24 OwnFaithlessness7221 Capital gains tax question

Hi,
I've got a situation that I've struggling to understand how to deal with and Skatteverket's website doesn't really help me unfortunately.
I'm a Brit that owns 10% of a company in the UK. The company was set up in late 2020 and when I lived in the UK I was an employ of it and am one of the founders. For context, there is another foundeemployee in the UK but the remaining 80% of the company is owned by a Swedish company.
I then moved to Sweden in the middle of 2022 and now formally work for the parent company, but my responsibilities are the same with respect to the UK company and I still own 10% of the shares.
This year, the parent company wants to buy out myself and the other founder and we have negotiated a price for this.
So my question is "what am I liable for in terms of capital gains tax?" Things that I've read suggest that I could be liable for capital gains on any overseas income earned whilst I have been resident in Sweden, however much/most of the growth of the company took place before I moved out here. The rules seem to only apply for assets bought/sold oversees whilst I've been in Sweden and not what I already owned before I moved into the country.
Is it possible that no tax is due in Sweden at all but I need to declare it under UK rules? I'm totally out of the UK system now but I guess that could change. Indeed that would be preferable as reading the HMRC rules it sounds like the deduction would only be 10% as I'm one of the founders, whereas in Sweden it might be 30%!!
Or maybe I need to somehow estimate the growth before and after, and pay a proportion of tax in both? No idea how I'd work that out!
Thanks
