Despite actively seeking a fully remote position in Customer Support, LiveChat, Phones, or data entry, using my skills and experience, I've only managed to secure a part-time role that barely covers expenses, even though I have the necessary credentials. I believe my employment gap due to accidents in 2020 (semi truck accident), compounded by COVID closures while I was on leave, followed by another accident in 2022 ( both not my faults ), may be affecting my job search. These accidents caused significant health issues, requiring a year off work for treatment. While I'm currently working part-time, it's not enough to support my family. I'm urgently seeking a full-time, hourly remote position. Any guidance or suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

I've only recently been diagnosed with ADHD, after going though the whole "gifted kid burnout" phase, and I think once I finish this academic year I need to leave school. At least that's what my self preservation has been telling me, my anxiety is making me dread the concept.
Nothing in my life has went to plan - I was meant to be a computer science student and code and go to uni after finishing sixth form and get a phd eventually and a well paying job and live in london. Over time I compromised a lot on that whole idea, an academic aspiration changed to an artistic one, I went to college instead of sixth form, and now I'm planning on taking a gap year, maybe a few, maybe never going back to education 💀💀
My biggest fear has been that if I leave, I won't be able to get back into education, like the routine and schedule of it all. Realistically though, I'm a godawful student, distracting, procrastinating, never doing my homework, never doing any of my work on time, stressed about everything. If I stayed in education I'd be no good, as I am now. I just find the idea of letting go of my academic goals really difficult, because I know I have potential, I'm just not sure traditional academia is the way to hone my skills anymore. I need to take the break, as in comoletely cut myself off from educational institutions for a bit, I'm just so anxious about it.
Has anyone else went though this? What did you do?

I bought a car last year. It also happened to be my first car. I had done extensive research (I didn’t wanna end up getting scammed or played) I needed a car as soon as possible so I already knew I was going to have to take a loan and a dealership seemed like a good option since I’ve experienced bad luck seeing my parents struggle with car issues buying off privately. I had called a dealership to inquire about a specific sedan I saw on CarGurus and the lady said it was no longer available. I wasn’t interested in any other cars she offered so I began to look elsewhere. The very next day the dealership calls me and it’s a guy asking if I was still interested in that car. I told him someone had explained it wasn’t available anymore.
This should’ve been my red flag.
Obviously I was excited the car was up and immediately made an appointment to go see it later that week. From the get go I didn’t realize I was being rushed. The car was ready for me to test drive. I took it on the freeway and had no issues with it. The car didn’t look the best. It had sun damage on the paint, scuffs and a large scratch on the passenger side door like someone had keyed it. I had also reviewed the carfax and the previous and only owner had maintained it very well.
I come back from test driving it and I’m taken inside to do the boring stuff. Several hours later I’m handed the keys. Great. Done deal. I had buyers remorse for that whole week but the car was great. I wasn’t going to keep it forever. Just 3-5 years until I could financially support myself without 2 jobs.
Almost 4 months later I get a check engine light. I scan it and it shows a code (PO420)
It’s odd for a 2015 car to have car issues was what I first thought and naturally I was scared. I first changed the O2 sensors and that helped for a while before the same code popped up. I changed them again. Yet when my smog came by it passed the emissions test. Fast forward to now. I saved up to change my cat and I thought it would be the end of it.
Nope.
The light came back on a few days after I got it back. I don’t know what to do. I have already paid off the car. I could get another one but I’m starting school soon and I don’t have time to handle 2 jobs again. Can the dealership even do anything anymore? I’ve put on about 15k miles since I purchased it. I live in California and I have saved my receipts. I don’t think I’d be able to do much but worse case scenario, I sell the car for whatever I can get and buy an older civic or Toyota 😕

Claimed to be from LA, US but has the worst english i've ever seen, do whatever you want with all this.

I got into QA via games 17 years ago and within months was thrown into a lead position (it sucked, such is game QA). After 6 years of that I transitioned to startups/tech and kept going, each time taking control of my department or region of testing (whether solo or with a team), and I've always done a blend of manual testing and.... everything else they needed help with. I've done UX wireframes, written user stories, stakeholdeclient meetings, made all the spreadsheets and test plans and test cases, managed and delegated, I swear I've done at least everything involved in the SDLC at least once. But mostly QA and product-type things.
The "at least once" is the snag. Like a lot of manual frontend QA you don't really learn enough to take your skills elsewhere or to a better position. I wound up focusing on soft skills, people management and organization, those always improved, but when you only get to play with Cypress for a month or build an Appium regression that gets thrown out you can't really say you know it/did it.
I can't code, at least not in any job-function related capacity. I can understand bits and pieces, I can hack stuff together (i.e. google/stackoverflow, splicing code) and get functional stuff out of code, pseudocode systems, anything with an interface I can mess around with and build something out of given a hot minute. I know I said above I did Cypress and Ruby, but I'll be damned if I could do anything if you put them in front of me now. It's just not something that fully clicks with me and never has, and I'm in the worst career for that. I can do stuff in it, but I can't do the things a job wants, like future proofing, hooking it into things, etc. My brain just doesn't work that way as I have tried learning languages since BASIC when I was 6. I hit a limit/cap.
My last job really solidified to me that lead/management and breaking stuff was the thing I'm here to do. It was the first time I had a team who I led thank me for doing a great job. I got the other QA in better places skills/career-wise to boot. But I can't build an automation API framework or ever used Salesforce so 17 years of this is worthless.
It's been 3 months since I've been laid off, and I've put in 50-odd applications. Only 2 interviews. 1-2 rejections a week. Dead silence everywhere else. I'm going insane.
At this stage I'm coming here to ask if anyone has any ideas. Is my resume bad? (link below) It's very old for the most part aside from the newest things, so it probably could be touched up. Or has everything I've done made it so that the only way I won't go homeless in the summer is to be in my 40s working at a call center to survive?

More layoffs to come

I can't get my rep or ecaminer to answer me so I figured I'd see if anyone has experience. Ive missed part of two payrolls and the payroll that ends tomorrow so. Initially my lost wages was denied because my case hadn't been accepted. I missed two payrolls. My case has now been accepted and my condition coded. I will be filling out lost wages for the current payroll on Monday as directed. I know I will have to fill out a lost wages and time analysis for the previous two payrolls be ause it was intermittent time. Since those payrolls are already passed, do I need to go ahead and do those forms now? Or is that going to mess up when I do another firm on Monday for the current payroll? If so, do I just fill out the form for all the time I'm currently in LWOP and turn in all at once? Also, is there any time frame for payment? Im about to lose my electricity and house shortly thereafter because of this process. Any advice is appreciated.

Regarding being employed by a subcontractor (consultant) to a prime contractor that is contracted by the government. My dealbreaker is when you apply to even be a sub for a prime to a gov agency you have to fill out seven years worth of employment history. You can’t falsify on that. So if your main area of employment has to do with gov jobs, what’s the plan down the road when you need/want to change or add jobs and have to provide your employment history? Trying to think through this and it’s where I come to a dead end. For the subcontractor we work essentially as FTEs and fill out a time card for our consulting company with a project code that references the gov project that the prime contractor maintains.
Sucks because I am fully remote and could easily pull this off, just unsure of future consequences.

I'm not a novice when it comes to the fallout series, Fallout 3 was my first and 4 was after that. Recently I got the chance to play FNV for the first time, and so far, I am loving the game. Now, this series tends to get dark and spooky at times, but I've usually always shrugged it off, even if my heart did start pumping a little faster. That was until I reached Vault 22. I received the brotherhood quest to find parts to fix their air system or whatever it was called officially, and my last stop was Vault 22 to find the last thing I needed. I was very surprised to see a rather green patch of land leading to the door, and went inside. Everything seemed calm, at least as calm as a vault could be, until I walked past the first bush with a spore carrier in it. I had headphones in so the noise it made was right in my ear and I dumped my laser RCW into the thing. I couldn't relax after that. I test fired into every patch of green I saw, and the only two things that made me feel even remotely safe was Veronica with her powr fist, and the flamer I found in the vault. The moment I got what I was looking for, I ran out of there and refused to look back, and it's an experience I'll never forget.
