Pixie shag haircut

Affordable shag/wolfcut haircut?

2024.05.17 21:26 GroundbreakingTell92 Affordable shag/wolfcut haircut?

Hi!! Looking for an affordable haircut in the dmv! To be honest I’ve only had luck with the queer-friendly stylists and salons. Straight people in my experience just do not know how to handle my thick hair and curls!!! Lol. Bonus if they do color too :)

2024.05.17 18:55 Inevitable-Lobster02 Haircuts

I need a haircut bcs I currently have a super grown-out buzzcut but I'm not sure what to do. I've been going to the same hairdresser for a few years but it's a women's salon and I'm not publically out (I'm FtM). The first time I asked for a 'boy's haircut' I went through the universal trans experience of ending up with a pixie. This is the first time going back to her since realising I'm trans and whatnot and I want a masc haircut (just an average short at the side, long on top) but I don't know what to ask for so I won't end up with a pixie again. I would go to a men's barber but I don't pass and I'm scared of something happening (getting refused, transphobia etc). Any advice?

2024.05.17 13:15 ChuffedChook Barber(s) that will cut women’s hair?

I’m a woman looking to get a more masculine haircut. I recently got a pixie, so my hair is already relatively short. I’m not super happy about the way it looks, so I’m thinking of getting an undercut and maybe getting an inch or so cut off the top. I’d like to find a barber, but I’m not familiar with any that will cut women’s hair. Any leads are appreciated.

What are the best hair styles using remy hair extensions in 2024?
In 2024, the hair fashion world is embracing innovative and bold styles that leverage the natural beauty and versatility of Remy hair extensions. Here are some unique and trend-setting hairstyles that will make the most of your Remy extensions:

Eclectic Waves
Mermaid Waves: Transform your look with cascading mermaid waves using Remy extensions. Achieve this fantasy-inspired style by curling your extensions with a deep waver iron, creating ethereal, ocean-like waves. This look is perfect for festival season or special events.
Modern Shag Waves: Blend your natural hair with Remy extensions cut into a modern shag.
Ultra-Sleek and Straight
Glass Hair: Attain the ultra-sleek, reflective "glass hair" look by using Remy extensions for added length and density. Achieve a mirror-like shine with a flat iron and a high-gloss finishing spray.
Chic Lob (Long Bob): Create a sleek, straight lob using Remy hair extensions for a polished yet trendy style. This mid-length cut is versatile and flattering, combining the sharpness of a bob with the length needed for styling versatility.
Dynamic Layers and Textures
Layered Pixie: Add unexpected volume and length to a pixie cut with strategically placed Remy extensions. This edgy look plays with different textures and lengths, creating a unique, avant-garde style.
Feathered Layers: Incorporate feathered layers with your Remy extensions for a soft, romantic look. This style creates movement and a light, airy feel, perfect for those who love a feminine touch.
Innovative Braids
Hybrid Braids: Combine different braiding techniques, like fishtail, Dutch, and box braids, using Remy extensions. This intricate, mixed-braid style is a head-turner, ideal for showcasing creativity and craftsmanship.
3D Braids: Use Remy extensions to create three-dimensional braids that stand out from traditional styles. This technique adds depth and a sculptural quality to your braids, making them look more intricate and elaborate.
Statement Ponytails and Buns
Bubble Ponytail: Elevate a high ponytail with Remy extensions to create a bubble ponytail. Secure the ponytail with hair ties at intervals, pulling gently on each section to create the "bubble" effect. This playful style is both youthful and chic.
Braided Bun Mohawk: Combine multiple small braids into a single bun mohawk using Remy extensions for added length and volume. This edgy updo is perfect for making a bold statement at any event.
Exquisite Curls and Waves
Goddess Curls: Achieve voluminous, defined curls reminiscent of Greek goddesses using curly Remy extensions. This style celebrates natural curls and adds drama and elegance to your look.
Retro Waves: Use Remy extensions to create vintage-inspired finger waves. This glamorous, old-Hollywood style is perfect for special events and adds a touch of timeless elegance.
Bold and Artistic Color
Rainbow Tips: Experiment with bold color by adding Remy extensions with rainbow-tinted tips. This playful and vibrant style allows you to express your personality without fully committing to permanent color.
Ombre Blends: Create a stunning ombre effect using Remy extensions that transition seamlessly from your natural color to a bold hue. This gradual blend adds depth and interest to your hairstyle.
By incorporating these unique and imaginative hairstyles, you can make the most of your Remy hair extensions in 2024. These styles not only enhance the length and volume of your hair but also allow you to express your creativity and individuality, ensuring you stand out with every look.

2024.05.17 03:59 bonelesstick I'm so tired of being misgendered

I hate it. I know I'm feminine, but I still use he/him pronouns. I like painting my nails, and having a 'shaggy looking pixie cut,' I don't want to stop doing what I like to in order to pass. I'm not on T but I would like to be as soon as I can. I want to stop being misgendered but I don't want to change that much to :(
I know that if I got a shorter haircut and if I dressed more masculinely instead of androgynously I would pass so much better. I just wish I didn't have to.

Bored of long wavy hair, want to switch it up
Hey! I’ve had long hair since covid and I’m due for a haircut in a few weeks. I usually get a shag or wolf cut with a ton of layers but i’m just kind of tired/bored of it. I also feel like it doesn’t suit me very well and would love something shorter (that uses my existing volume/texture) for the summer. I don’t want a really short cut because I do like my hair and i’m not ready to let go of it all just yet.
I was thinking of some variation of a mullet, but not sure if it’ll even fit my face shape or hair type. Last pic is how it looks diffused and cut.
Any ideas are appreciated :-)

2024.05.15 22:26 Kiki-Y What are some fun little worldbuilding tidbits you've put in your stories?

Today, I was writing my mermaid AU story when I hit the point where I had to stop to think for a moment. They're stereotypical mermaids with human hair, so they can tie their hair up if they want to.
It got me thinking. They wouldn't call tying hair up "ponytails" because horses aren't a staple of underwater culture (and there are no seahorses in the sense of horses that just live underwater. I mean there are normal seahorses with the prehensile tails that grab hold of plants and stuff, but not, like, rideable horses. I have my mind made up my mermaid is going be terrified of actual horses).
I ended up calling it "eel bodies" since longer hair, when up in a tie like that, will be long and slender like an eel body. Most of the mermaids have shorter-cropped hair (think typical men's haircuts or pixie cuts) but my FMC Mermaid has shoulder-length hair.

Help - Hate my hair need advice
hello so basically here’s a picture of before (first image) and the after ( other pictures). I am living in japan and i wanted to go cut my hair at a tokyo hairsalon, and get my hair lighter (closer to my roots) and i had layers and just wanted to cut my layers so they fit my shorter hair. I ended up with fried light hair and this haircut which looks like a wolf/cut shag? the hairstylist thinned my hair and i feel really insecure and feel like i look like a mushroom if i don’t straighten my hair….. Basically i have been depressed for a full month and feel really insecure. I was wondering if anyone could reassure me and tell me if It could get better and if so how ( i don’t want to cut my hair even shorter). Does it really look that bad and like a wolf cut? Maybe i was thinking of dying it really dark again and cutting my bangs again to feel more like myself but im not sure it’ll look close like before … Basically if anyone has any idea how i can go back to my old self :/

2024.05.15 08:00 Away_Construction624 Where to get a masculine haircut in South Auckland?

Heyyy pretty much what the title says, in south auckland, need a masculine haircut. Would highly prefer not having to travel all the way to the CBD.
I'm closeted trans masc so I'll be honest they don't even need to be explicitly queer friendly I just need someone who wont give me a pixie cut. thanks

2024.05.15 01:10 Mountain_sky20 How do I explain to my stylist my hair is too thick on top?

I am going for kinda a mullet thing and have had a few haircuts where the top of my hair looks funny not long after the cut. My hair is really thick and it ends up looking like a have a bowl cut. I want more of a shag where the top is thinned out so it’s not so bulky on top. I’ve been showing pictures and explaining what I like but it doesn’t seem to be getting across. I’m meeting with a new stylist tomorrow and would love some advice!

2024.05.14 17:38 Slurpyslurpie Can I get bangs with frizzy and damaged hair?

Can I get bangs with frizzy and damaged hair?
• Could my hair look good with bangs despite the frizz and damage? Mostly inspired by shag cuts. (I’m worried about the misplaced sections of short hair almost at the very front, as shown in the last picture. It’s like that on both sides of my face)
• How much of the lengths do I need to chop? I’ll be going to a hairdresser and getting layers but I’m interested to hear your thoughts.
Some brief history is that I’ve always had dry hair naturally but I’ve been taking good care of it, up until I moved to a place with hard water ~1 year ago. I subconsciously itched my scalp which led to friction damage and breakage. I stopped as soon as I noticed (in December) but the damage had gotten quite severe already. I’ve found products and a washing routine that work; my hair seems to be doing better, but the questions about my upcoming haircut remain :)

2024.05.14 14:08 Lost_student456 Alternative hairstylist for men with long hair

Hi! I originally posted this in gent but didnt get any replies so i thought i might ask it here, since I'm willing to do a bit of traveling to get a decent haircut.
I'm looking for a hair stylist who can give me a 70's shag haircut (like Jim Morrison). However for such a haircut I kinda need some light curls and a bit more volume, wich I dont really have (long straight hair). So i'm open to stylist who can do a light perm and gives advice and suggestions on styling products and haircare in general.
Anyone got a good adress? Thanks in advance :3 ! (prices dont really matter btw, I just want a model tier haircut.)

2024.05.14 01:14 Spellscribe Fine and thin style cut tips?

My hair is fine and thin - not falling out, just skinny strands that I've always had, and fewers hairs to fill the gaps. I'm generally pretty gentle and low maintenance with it - I rarely use heat, barely use styling products, just wash/condition/add a leave in conditioner or serum. I trend towards dry hair, that's a bit frizzy, with curls ranginging from a few corkscrews to that one la my but at the front that is barely a wave.
I'm way overdue for a haircut (like... A year 🙈) and have a solid inch or two of heavy grey. I'm considering lopping it all off for a short, bouncy cut - longer than a pixie but only by enough to let it curl. I'm just worried it's no longer thick enough to pull off, or that I'll end up looking like Betty White before my time 😅
I've tried online but I can't find images of hairstyles for genuinely thin hair. All the models look like they have 10x the density I do. Or it's just style tips to fluff it up, rather than advice on length and layers.
Any advice?

2024.05.13 22:13 Strict_Designer7608 Is it possible to not have split ends?

I haven’t been able to afford a proper haircut in over a year now… my stylist is elite and she does a beautiful job but of course it comes with a price tag. She helped me grow out a pixie cut and gave me some lovely layers a year ago. I don’t use bleach and rarely use a flat iron (and I use heat protectant always.) I’ve been diligent about caring for my hair, and I have been wearing it natural for the past year with days in between where I do a blowout on medium heat with heat protectant. The past couple months I’ve actually been washing with cold water and blow drying with cold water and my ends are surprisingly still healthy and “blunt” and curl at the ends. Is it possible to just not have split ends? I know what they look like because years ago I used to bleach my hair. I do plan to get a chop in June just in case.

2024.05.13 15:06 riggo199BV Can anyone recommend a stylist/barber that can cut short hair (women) and NOT charge a ton of money?

Hi. Why are women's haircuts so darn expensive?! I have short hair (pixie) that needs to be cut every month or I look like a drowned rat! I am wondering if I should check out a barber instead of a stylist b/c I am paying about $65 every month. Maybe I should be brave and try great clips or something? Help! :)
Thanks so much!

2024.05.12 22:25 drue13 What I saw...

At General Public. The band starts and a few people are dancing near me, in particular a middle aged woman, conservatively dressed but fashionable. I got a vibe that in her civilian life she was a teacher or something of the sort, based on purely superficial evidence, and she was dancing but somewhat reserved. A young blonde goth girl with a pixie haircut was passing with her boyfriend and as they passes, the girl started dancing with the woman. The woman was so delighted, and the band was in top form, and it wasn't long before they were full on dancing their asses off, and I actually saw a woman in her 40s (younger than me!) suddenly transformed and she was 16 again. She was Molly Ringwald dancing in the library, she was Jennifer Beals, she was Kevin Bacon, she was amazing. Other people around them got so swept up in their energy that it was only moments before there was seven of them, seven strangers all made young again by the power of music and nostalgia. Being able to witness that alone was worth the price of admission. Who ever you are, you guys absolutely rock.
