I'm pretty happy with how this considering I applied to a ton of competitive summer programs. I'm surprised I got interviewed by UCSB RMP and then got rejected everywhere except BWSI. I'm probably gonna be going there and doing some local internships during the summer!

I am a Registered Nurse, and have been for about 3 months now. I moved here from Saskatchewan in December as my boyfriend lived and worked here prior. I didn’t think I’d have any issue finding a job as an RN, you always hear that nurses are in high demand and there’s a shortage.
It’s been 3 months and I haven’t had as much as a call back or interview. I’ve applied to over 200+ RN positions in every specialty, through AHS, and other healthcare avenues. I’ve tried networking, getting in touch with those who work for AHS, and nothing has come of it.
Today, I am left feeling frustrated. AHS posted over 6 pages of around 100 RN positions for international nurses who do not currently live in Canada or are eligible to work here. I have nothing against newcomers to Canada. I am upset at the fact that I have been ready and eager for RN work here in Calgary and rurally as well, and my application has not even been considered once since I am an external applicant. And now, there are 100 new positions being offered to those who don’t even live in Canada yet. I am left feeling hopeless, and considering moving back home. If you got this far, thanks for reading my little rant. I know it’s tough out there for everyone, and I empathize with others going through similar situations.

I've received an interview invitation (just an introduction email, with no calendar) for a position for which I applied. It's a serious and nice company so I was looking forward for arranging the interview, but the recruiter never replied.
I received the email on Monday. The following day I wrote back to her lo like "just to make sure you got my email". Wednesday was bank holiday, today (Thursday) she didn't replied yet . What should I do now? Shall I simply wait?

Just got an offer for the position at the hospital in a town that's not far by. I'll be working in pediatric to general population rehabilitation hospital. It is its own separate hospital from the main hospital. So although it's conjoined, it's its own entity. I'm so freaking excited about this position. I can't wait to learn the additional skills they teach us aides. I won't be working a lot of days but a lot of hours (12+), which is fine. I want to get used to this type of flow because I plan on moving back to New York and want to work within one of their hospitals.
It's night position, and I'll be training during the day for one week, then nights the next, and then I'll be on my own!
Is anyone familiar with this type of setting? We'll get spinal injuries, limb loss, brain injuries, sport injuries, etc etc. Also, any advice in general for just working in the hospital with these particular patients? Is there anything I should keep in mind with me?
The RN who hired me towards the end of my tour was pretty direct about wanting me to commit and stay within the position. I was caught off guard by her bluntness but I get that she's taking a chance with me and I wanna prove myself despite not that really being my personality, dont really care to engage in these "politics" a lot of nurses and aides like to dabble in. But to be fair to her point, I don't have a good track record of staying at one place for so long unfortunately (1 year 3 months NA I😢) was spooked a lot in a lot of facilities. My experience so far is pretty extensive.
I've worked in Assisted Living, SNF/LTC, Rehabs, Travel, and Hospice (my absolute favorite!) Seen and been through a lot of bullshit and am looking forward to what knowledge and experience the hospital wil teach me. I'm ready, but I would greatly appreciate any knowledge thrown my way if it could be helped. Nurses, Aides, LPNs, PTs, whomever happens to see this can you shed some light on.
I'd greatly appreciate any well sound advice. Is there anything I should buy 🤔 definitely going to get my compression socks for sure for those long hours, haha. Everyone seemed nice but real stern but transparent, and I appreciated that. I hope I can shape my personality to fit in as my personality is assertive and direct, I'm learning to apply tact while also being direct and not tolerating any bullying that comes my way. Thank you for engaging and apperciate any advice given.

The last 2 years has been a succession of unexpected blows financially/personally, and more and more I've been feeling backed into a corner with no alternatives. Without giving away personal details, the TLDR is 1. ended a long term relationship that included mental health disorde manipulation, 2. sold joint house and moved (broke even due to market conditions) 3. worked 3 jobs for a year to stay afloat personal and business debts from prior venture, 4. multiple high cost car and vet bills weighing into the thousands, 5. found out car is a lemon with a lot more issues than prior assessments revealed, now unusable and to be scrapped 6. working FT now and quit second job to focus on upskill studies in hopes to advance work and salary and digging into credit as a gamble
The thing with life is that it can suck. Simultaneous with it being also great in a lot of ways. Most of the time I can be nuanced enough to appreciate that the only way is through. Even admist tears I won't deny that.
I've considered OF before throughout the above unfolding but always stepped back for the various fears of being found out by your professional colleagues/friends (albeit that's the deal and no one can escape that), plus the personal fear that it won't compensate monetarily to be worthwhile and you'll suffer a private ego blow for exposing yourself only to find you aren't 'valued'. Feels like the last straw on the camel's back in that case. With my personality, if I decided to pursue OF, I'd want to give it my best and actually try to make valuable content (whatever that may mean). In some idyllic way, to cultivate a little more conversation and levity than banal sexualization - would that even be an option/appeal? Previously I've dallied briefly on sugar baby websites after hearing experiences from friends but backed out after meeting my current partner and never ended up engaging with anyone online.
Watching/reading interviews with other OF creators, and even witnessing personal connections promote their OF during the pandemic through social media was eye opening. It can be a side hustle or a full time job and the returns are dependent on your effort, your niche, and perhaps luck too. It's a saturated market as with anything else in this economy. The idea for me would be a part time hustle to alleviate bills and provide a little more financial security. The goal to study is to upgrade my financial situation and future opportunities of course. My current work being in a small company without advancement opportunities (I have found after various suggestions of new ideas that growth may not be in line with the founder's goals) . Also due to my current FT being occasionally on call, especially during summer season, it's hard to secure a secondary parttime, thus I quit in hopes to accelerate the studies online, but its a gamble as I lose the secondary income and so far have been blowing my budget due to various costs related to my car and pets.
The mental idea of interacting on OF appears to be a scary world for me and I'm uncertain how fragile my ability is to compartmentalize the interactions of how I feel (towards myself and others) online. I got off instagram over the new year for mental health reasons, recently returning for work, but have found it rather pleasant to have my world smaller. I'm well aware of how paradoxical my desires and personal outlook/lifestyle is to the pursuit of OF. Perhaps I'm in illusion and holding out hope for this option that I have not yet undertaken . Or I am skewed in my biased opinion of what OF work can be, as it may well surprise me for the better. At this point of the day, after several big cries, and fatefully processing things we cannot change, I suppose the dilemma is always going to be whether it will work/be worthwhile - though nothing is guaranteed in life - and potential future ramifications. I have delved into several rabbit holes of interviews/podcasts of select adult sex workers in the porn industry that I respect/am a fan of and they shared great insight into behind the scenes of sex work and things to consider. I really appreciated learning about their craft (with which they have obvious success) and their candor to articulate healthy sexualization and entrepreneurship but am uncertain how I might fair in this. In any case, if you read this far, thank you for reading. It calmed me down to focus on putting words on the screen than spiral loosely.
I hope this doesn't count as a rant or spam. I'd love to hear your thoughts as a general public, someone who is on OF as a creator or a fan, or just life tips/pov that I could consider. Using a throwaway account in case I regret this. Cheers everyone x

I’m going to be a UVA nursing freshman this Fall from NY. How would you say the volunteer opportunities are here? Do you guys get to work in the UVA Hospital or do clinical there? Do you guys know where most graduates go and work after they graduate? I’d assume UVA Hospital would hire the nursing grads but i’m not sure.
I know some nursing programs from other schools have hospitals coming in to interview nursing seniors. Does UVA have that?

I’ve been at my current company for ~3 years now (1 year as a BDR and 2 years as an SLG/SLED AE handling new business and growth deals). My company is falling apart so I’m looking for new jobs now. However, I’ve never actually applied and interviewed for AE roles in the past since I’ve only been promoted internally before.
I’ve been looking for jobs on LinkedIn and Indeed, messaging recruiters and hiring managers after I apply to roles, etc. I’ve had a couple of second round interviews so far in the few weeks I’ve been looking, but haven’t moved past that stage yet. I’m currently remote but looking at in person jobs in Chicago and Seattle as well (in addition to remote.)
Are there any other tips or tricks to landing an AE role that you all would recommend? I’ve never been in this position before and I don’t know anyone else in my personal life in sales that I could bounce ideas off. So I’d love some insight on how to land a new role that’s also a step up, not so much just a lateral move.

This happened about a year ago, but I am still wondering what the point was for the interview questions. This was an in-person interview for a receptionist job at an insurance agency. Please let me know if I'm just dumb, or if there's a valid reason for these. Obviously, I did not get the job, which I am now thankful for, but I still want to know!

-Asked about last vacation, why, where, what kind of hotel, specifics, etc
-Asked when I was invited somewhere where I knew no one and how I handled it
-Asked why I went through a temp agency with my last job instead of the company.
-I don't remember the question, but ended up being asked why there were trials in my life and how it effected me, which led to being asked how a stressful personal situation caused the trials of less income due to less work from the stress.
This last one really caught me off guard, and I wish I would not have answered it. It felt too personal and she pushed me to answer all of these questions.

My journey into sales began uniquely; originally interviewing for a delivery position at a medical supply company, I was offered a B2B Account Manager role during the interview thanks to my perceived charisma. Despite my inexperience, I excelled quickly, securing over 15 new accounts in just 1.5 months.
However, the tragic loss of my mother to a homicide earlier this year profoundly affected me, altering both my perspective on life and my family’s needs. This event, combined with ongoing financial struggles such as getting threatened with collections by crime scene cleanup company, eviction from my mother’s long-term residence, has deepened my desire to succeed in a stable and rewarding career.
I am passionate about sales because of its potential for good earnings and personal development. The flexibility it offers is really nice, especially now as I balance personal challenges with professional aspirations. I’m not interested in door-to-door residential sales but like roles that require strategic thinking and relationship management.
Could anyone share advice or insights on suitable sales sectors or opportunities in the Orlando area? I am eager to learn and adapt, and I appreciate any guidance you can provide.
