Title. Why did Spartans start dressing in whatever colour they liked after the war? Definitely doesn’t help with camouflage and they stick out a lot easier wearing bright blue or orange. I know there’s an exception in Kat and Cater wearing blue. But is there a lore reason as to why Spartans stopped wearing olive green / black?

2024.05.17 06:57 IlikethequietZeppo Animagi (part of my book 3 no time turners rewrite)

Wood had been training the Gryffindor Quidditch team relentlessly at every free moment. Last night Wood had been running broomless drills between dinner and curfew. Once back in their common room he had tried to talk strategies using Ron's chess pieces, Harry had been King, George and Fred were bishops, the chasers were pawns, and Oliver was the Queen. Until Angelina Johnson had yawned, and explained that a good night's sleep was the the best strategy.
Harry stiffled a yawn in transfiguration. He found it hard to concentrate. For some unknown reason Harry began to think about werewolves. Were werewolves even real? He couldn't remember.
"Mr Potter!" Snapped Professor McGonagal. "Would you care to share what is so important it has taken all of your attention?"
"Werewolves" he answered before he could consider the question. "...and the difference between them, and the transfiguration when you turn into a cat."
"Animagus" Hermione coughed
"Animagus! That's it. I was trying to remember the word. Now that I have, I can leave this to consider later." Harry rambled.
Professor McGonagal stared her unblinking cat stare. Harry grew increasingly uncomfortable but decided not to say anything further.
"That, Mr Potter, is an interesting question. What is a difference between them?"
Hermione's hand shot up three inches higher than her natural reach.
Professor McGonagal continued to stare at Harry. Harry thought of the B grade horror films Dudley watched.
"Er..a werewolf is forced to transform on the full moon, and you... er... Animagus.... Animaguses? ....Animagi? ... an Animagus can transform.... at will?" Harry tentatively answered.
"Given your attention was diverted for seven minutes, I want seven factual points comparing werewolves and Animagi, handed to me by tomorrow's class."
"Are you giving me a detention?" Harry asked hopefully
"Not unless you fail to hand in an acceptable response to the question."
Harry's shoulders slumped. He would have to stop by the library and complete it in 'History of Magic'. He had hoped to get a nap in during Professor Binns class.
...
Harry asked Madam Pince for any documents on Werewolves and Animagi that were accessible to him. Soon she had compiled a stack of books for him, and oddly a copy 'Teen witch weekly' (issued monthly, but Hermione pointed out that if it was called 'Teen Witch Monthly' it would sound like a euphemism for a ladies time of the month. Ron had promptly dropped the magazine.). The issue of 'Topographical Habitat' made some sense, as it was purported to be a factual periodical about unknown magical tribes from around the world and rare fantasic beasts.
Hermione took the largest book from the stack, Ron took 'Topographical Habitat', and Harry flipped through 'Teen Witch'.
Hermione seemed somewhat impressed that Ron had at least taken the serious publication. Harry's own suspicions about Ron's choice appeared confirmed, when Ron blushed such deep scarlet, he could have been camouflaged next to Fawkes.
"100 ways to woo your wizard? Top 10 potions for a slimmer summer body? Love potions gone wrong, a young witch's horror? Who reads this trash?" Harry asked aloud.
Hermione didn't meet his eyes.
"I don't. Some of the other girls do. Apparently they can often have interesting articles, and they have a 'questions to the Sage Sisters' section where young witches can ask embarrassing questions they can't ask their parents or professors"
Hermione attempting to hide the red flush in her cheeks, nonchalantly flipped through the large book, seemingly unaware it was upside down.
"There must be a reason Madam Pince got it for you." She continued before turning the book right side up. "It's faster to get to 'W' for werewolves from the back" she explained without looking up.
Harry smiled.
"Take our quiz. Which Animagus are you?"
"That sounds highly inaccurate. I suppose you did say any documents..."
Harry pushed it to the side a little too far and it slipped off the edge of the table with three other books. Harry ducked down to tidy them up. He quickly slipped the magazine into his bookbag and picked up the other three books.
The three of them quickly found the pages with basic information on both, and a refence to the spell to become an animagus, but it was in the restricted section. Harry noted the book title down. Unfortunately there wasn't time to write down all the important bits. If he hurried, Harry thought he might just be able to mark down page numbers and book titles to find them on the next break.
"I wish I had access to a photocopier" Harry lamented.
"Just ask Madam Pince for a copy." Ron suggested
Madam Pince read through the pages quickly, and copied them. She redacted a few pieces of "restricted" information, including the name of the restricted book. Finally, a watermark charm indicating it was an authorised copy, before handing them the pages.
Hermione stared in awe.
"I need to learn that spell." She said as they raced to 'History of Magic'
"Yeah, it'd be super helpful." Replied Ron.
"How did you know what a photo copier was?" Harry panted as they sprinted up to the classroom
"A wha? You said copier. I assumed you wanted a copy. Name seemed pretty obvious."
During 'History of Magic' Harry propped open the text book and flipped to the quiz in the magazine. He readied his quill, but as it was a magical publication, you used your wand to tap the answer. After the result was given the pages would clear and the next person could take the test.
There were several disclaimers in fine print stating results were not guaranteed, and merely for entertainment purposes.
...
Which Animagus are you?
Question one:
Where do you live?
Harry tapped the box next to the UK.
The page shifted revealing the next question.
If you attend/ed Hogwarts, which house were you, or do you hope to be sorted into?
On the questions continued.
Pick a sport or activity
□Quidditch
□Spelunking
□Dueling
□Wrestling
□Spectating
Harry didn't even know what spelunking was. He assumed it was some obscure wizard sport, common elsewhere in the world. He picked Quidditch of course.
The questions were odd and seemed mostly irrelevant to animals, but finally he came to the results.
Red Kite
"Think it's broken mate" Ron whispered over Harry's shoulder "my dad found one of those at the ministry. It's a toy for muggle kids."
"It says its a bird of prey." Harry whispered back.
"Give it here so I can take it." Ron asked.
Harry carefully passed it over and started writing his comparison for McGonagal.
Ron grumbled when he was done.
"Still say its broken. I got goat."
"It's just a ridiculous quiz Ronald. Hardly likely to be accurate is it? Besides goats are excellent creatures. " Hermione reached over and took the magazine.
Soon she showed her own results.
"Utter nonsense. I got an octopus. I'd much rather be a goat, than an octopus." Hermione carefully showed the result page to Ron and Harry.
"Nah, that's way cooler than a goat." Ron sighed
"Imagine you turn for first time, no water in sight. Not very useful. Great, I could swim around the lake. I personally, have no desire to find myself in any way in the lake, or any other body of water bigger than a bathtub. Animagus forms are random, I have just as much chance of being a Blue Ringed Octopus, as I do a Fox. You wouldn't know what animal you'll get until to do the full spell. One reason why I'd not likely try to become an animagus." Hermione closed up the magazine, and returned to her classwork, except her classwork was for Arithmancy not history of magic.
When the class ended, Nevile came up to Harry.
"I took that quiz, or one like it ages ago. I was at St Mungos,... just waiting at the minor aliments clinic. I don't subscribe to 'teen witch' magazine or anything. I got a Honey Badger. I thought for sure it would mean I'd be in Hufflepuff. Do you think I could maybe,... maybe I could... borrow your magazine to see if I'd be something else now?" Neville shyly asked
"Go for it. This is just a library copy. Part of my extra homework McGonagal set me. I'll give it to you in our room"
At the end of class, Ron had a free class block. Oliver Wood had a copy of all the Gryffindor Quidditch team player's timetables, and he and Harry had a one on one training session during this free block. Hermione had an elective that Ron and Harry didn't take. In an attempt to delay the training session, Harry offered to walk with Hermione to the next class.
"Ron, do me a favour and talk Quidditch strategies with Wood. Maybe he won't notice I'm late. I need a few minutes to myself. Encourage him to get substitute players too. If he has more players to train then maybe he'll ease up on the rest of us." Harry sighed.
"Hermione mind if I accompany you to..." Harry paused not knowing what her next class.
"Ancient Runes" Ron said as he packed up his books.
"Actually, I've got Ancient....Runes. How did you know that Ron?"
"I spent long enough helping you shift your classes around, so you could do them all." Ron replied "Catch you two at lunch then. Do you think Wood would really listen to my strategies?"
"Percy apparently complained to Oliver that 'it was bad enough having a house full of Quidditch obsessed siblings, he could no longer handle it taking over their dorm room too.' I feel bad for their other roommates, having to deal with both Percy and Oliver. Anyway Percy must have mentioned you helping with Hermione's schedule, and treating it like a Quidditch league. I think Oliver will be quite keen to hear your opinion. If only to annoy Percy further."
"That's 'nough reason for me." Laughed Ron in response.
The trio split off at the staircase, with Ron promising to stall Oliver.
"So Vix, Octopus you say?"
Hermione glared at Harry
"Did you forget my name Harry?"
"You've only been my best friend for two years. Of course I forgot it, Vix. Must have been obliviated. You said you got a Blue Ringed Octopus."
"I did. It proves only that the quiz was nonsense."
"You got a small poisonous..."
"Venomous." She corrected
"Probably poisonous too. You got a small venomous octopus from Australia? I did a project on them in primary school. They live in Australian waters not anywhere near the U.K. The quiz asked your location, so you'd only get a creature that lived here. So why wouldn't you tell Ron you got a Fox?"
"How did you... I got an octopus you saw the results."
Harry gave no further reponse and waited for Hermione to come clean.
"Fine. I took the test multiple times. How did you know I got a fox?!"
"You said 'you had as much chance of being a Blue Ringed Octopus, as you did a Fox'." Harry shrugged. "You'd make a pretty good fox."
"Serves me right for choosing Australia as a location. I thought I might get a Koala or something cute. Instead I get a tiny but deadly octopus." She shook her head in frustration, frizzy hair flying everywhere.
"You would have have the fluffiest fox fur ever." Harry concluded. Hermione swatted him in the arm.
"It's still nonsense. Each animagus is completely random, as far as current research can tell. I'd probably get a hare, or a vole, or....or...an otter! Not something I'm currently planning to try."
"Only 'cause you don't know how." Which earned him another whack in the arm.
"Would you learn the spell?"
"If I could guarantee I'd get a bird, of any kind, hell I'd even take a bloody pigeon, absolutely. Only birds I'd say no to would be flightless birds"
"That's the problem isn't it. You could get anything. I wouldn't want to be a water animal, like a fish, or a rat like Ron's pet" She shuddered "or a bug. Can you be a bug?"
He shrugged
"If you could choose your form, I know, I know" he held his hands up before she could tell him off "but IF you could, what animal would make you say yes immediately?"
They walked in silence while she pondered the question.
"Not something people want to kill. Not a pest creature; rats, mice, insects, spiders, snakes. Nothing like that. Something strong, something friendly, something beautiful."
"So not a fox then?"
"No. Too many people trying to hunt them down."
"What about a horse?"
"Hmmm possibly."
"Do you think that most Animagi are Gryffindors, because it requires courage to go through with becoming an unknown animal?"

UK blue chips fell modestly on Thursday, retreating from recent record highs as some heavyweight companies including oil major BP traded ex-dividend, while a big drop by software firm Sage Group also weighed on the benchmark index.

At the London close, the FTSE 100 was down 0.1% at 8,438, notching up its worst session in a month. But the mid-cap FTSE 250 index ended 0.2% higher to 20,822, continuing to inch towards the key 21,000 mark.

Among the weak blue chips, BP fell 1.5%, GSK lost 1.6%, Tesco shed 1.3%, and Kingfisher dropped 2.8% as the stocks all traded without entitlement to their latest dividend.

Sage Group was the top loser on the FTSE 100, down 9.4% after the enterprise software firm lowered its annual revenue forecast. And discount airline easyJet fell 6.0% after it reported a first-half loss largely in line with company expectations ahead of a busy summer season.

But on the upside, BT Group was the top FTSE 100 gainer, jumping 17.2% after the telecoms, broadband and mobile operator's new CEO, Allison Kirby set out a path for a more than double free cash flow over the next five years.

Elsewhere in the telecoms sector, FTSE 250-listed Helios Towers soared 12.0% higher after it reported well-received first-quarter results.

Watches of Switzerland was also the top mid-cap riser, up 19.9% jump after the luxury retailer said it was 'cautiously optimistic' about 2025.

The UK data calendar was light on Thursday, which put the spotlight on a speech from Megan Greene, an external member of the Bank of England’s monetary policy committee, which proved fairly hawkish on interest rate cut expectations. Greene said she wanted more evidence of persistent waning inflation, particularly in the tight labour market.

I usually have it updated within a couple hours after Mort's patch rundown, and the Reddit post usually comes on patch day. So if you wish to have quick access of the results and analysis please join the Discord:

TLDR: We have a new Queen!

Overview

As many has already found out the initial plan of 14.10 was a bit problematic. Since Mort has mentioned a B patch is going to happen I've decided to do the rundown after the B patch, therefore we can have a more balanced view of the overall scenario.
In general, the good thing about this patch is, after 3 consecutive patches which had significant system changes on econ, shop odds, new artifacts and leveling XP, we finally have a more stable patch to rebuild the knowledge of game basics.
In terms of overall balancing, there are a couple of 3 cost units got buffed, with some reroll traits getting buffed as well. The HP buff on 4 costs got reverted by 50%, with a couple of nerfs on 4 costs, hopefully we can see some reroll comps back in the meta. However, significant buffs on some other 4 costs, including vertical trait buffs means it's often more beneficial to push levels instead of reroll on 6/7.

Lillia Buff - Much Deserved

Undoubtly, even after the 14.10b nerf Lillia is still going to be the biggest winner of this patch. Previously, her normal cast only targets her current target, which means there's a high chance of her normal cast only hitting 1 unit. 14.10 changes her targeting mechanics and now she can consistently hit 2-3 targets per cast. Even with the very modest modeling of her normal cast hits 1.5 targets on average to 2 targets, that's already a big 12.5% damage boost. Considering her cast can now also hitting the backline more consistently, it probably makes healing items like Gunblade/HoJ more useful to slam.

Fated/Dryad Buffs and Nerfs - Controversial

No doubt the most controversial decision of this patch would be buffing Ahri/Kindred, while the Fated line was already being strong enough for the early/mid game. The buff on Kindred might be to catering with the nerf on Gnar, also make the Reaper line more viable. However it's still a bit hard to justify buffing Ahri, as she's already been a good item carrier for quite a while. This double buff on Fated line makes it much easier to have a strong early/mid game and transition into the final board.
To fix the issue the dev team decided to have a huge nerf on Syndra, along with Ornn:
https://preview.redd.it/3ksvvavy2v0d1.png?width=670&format=png&auto=webp&s=b8c191926103b1865d4da24aff8febc685ed7830
https://preview.redd.it/2s8cs8el3v0d1.png?width=769&format=png&auto=webp&s=c0fd6f9d9be4f0e3dc33bf89d9038c14a0c50069
As it shows, this is a straight 10% overall damage nerf on Syndra, which reverts her back to the state before she got buffed. 1 less orb means she's also doing less damage upfront. For an emergency fix this should be good enough. Since she's also doing a lot of single target damage on bruisers, this would make bruiser comps back on the stage.
On the other hand, Kindred gets a sizeable buff along with the Reaper trait buff:
https://preview.redd.it/y0nkjlrm4v0d1.png?width=931&format=png&auto=webp&s=3ca41a191ee931d6ce2c6b34577ecccabd79e080
https://preview.redd.it/boj413dp4v0d1.png?width=700&format=png&auto=webp&s=627bdea497fc02f0e63c2c4de3df23c5c97604f9
Does it mean Reaper reroll is going to be back on stage? I have doubts since let's not forget Reaper was dominating before multiple nerfs on Yone, Titan, 3 cost shop odds and trait damage. Only buffing the damage would not be enough to suddenly make it much better.

Trickshot Nerf - Mostly Unnecessary

Besides the more prominent Fated/Dryad issue, the mostly undiscussed but maybe more problematic nerf decision is on Trickshot. The 4 Trickshot initially got a 10% damage nerf then reverted to 5% nerf. Along with the base AD nerf on Xayah as she's doing a lot of burst damage even on 1 star. IMHO except the Xayah nerf, nerfing on Trickshot trait is being completely unnecessary and best to be reverted.
https://preview.redd.it/j0fizapx7v0d1.png?width=670&format=png&auto=webp&s=b2c9cd4c704457c056a9c6517af3dbbfe3add835
https://preview.redd.it/pxdm83rz7v0d1.png?width=916&format=png&auto=webp&s=8d3719b246aeb6fc9419720fc667b81a5dd14e18
For the Trickshot nerf it means a 10% straight damage nerf on Kaisa with 4 Trickshot. For reference, last time this level of nerf happened when Kaisa was dominating the meta. After the nerf Kaisa's average placement has fallen into the abyss of 4.8 with some other Trickshot units, which makes her one of the worst units in the game:
https://preview.redd.it/g0kgenopav0d1.png?width=980&format=png&auto=webp&s=4b3529016c650f819e772603ca2b5d564131db6c
Since the Trickshot comp was already falling off quite a lot since last patch, considering the 5 Inkshadow buff I guess the intention was to encourage people play Kaisa differently. However, even with the 5% Inkshadow damage buff, Kaisa is still doing much less damage comparing with the nerfed 4 Trickshot. It's hard to justify compromising overall team strength playing 5 Inkshadow only for the extra 2 Inkshadow items.
For Xayah she lost about 6% overall damage after the base AD nerf. I did some research how Trickshot interacts with her skill but got mixed results. Here we assume Trickshot wouldn't affect her skill damage, still if Xayah is being a bit too good on doing some burst damage, maybe nerfing her alone without touching other units and traits would be more reasonable.
Understandably, the intention of the nerf is likely to help shifting the meta. Still it's hard to justify the level of the nerf as it would probably make an entire line become unplayable.

Zoe Buff - Good Only if You Hit

Zoe got a pretty sizeable buff on her ricochet damage, in exchange her first target damage gets nerfed. Admittedly this makes her cap much higher on 3 star, but also makes her worse on 1 and 2 star.
Zoe's skill is always being awkward, as the additional ricochet only triggers when she does the kill. Also the skill wouldn't bounce if there's only 1 enemy alive. Which means if positioned correctly maybe she can claim 1-2 kills, then she'll likely to stuck on the opponent's main tank for the rest of the fight. After hitting 3 star her ricochet is now doing much more damage so that's less of a problem and only on 3 star she becomes a beast.
However, since she's also StoryweaveFortune so others might hold her simply to be a trait bot or to grief, with the lowered 3 cost odds she's unreliable to hit. This leads to a more fundamental design issue of this set, as many potentially good units are often sharing with different lines as trait bot. With the lowered bag size those are often not being viable.
https://preview.redd.it/14lq2155dv0d1.png?width=761&format=png&auto=webp&s=6e21f3acea8d3bea1e011833509fe379bad4b150

Ashe Buff - Unexpected and Concerning

Although herself is left touched, Ashe gets a triple buff from Sniper trait, Warden and Lillia. From Sniper trait she gets a big buff of 8.6% on 4 Snipers, meanwhile Wardens gets more tanky and Lillia gets more damage:
https://preview.redd.it/smry8kpqgv0d1.png?width=691&format=png&auto=webp&s=b818c95cb674d18b73038af1841a254785049187
https://preview.redd.it/8gmyk8lsgv0d1.png?width=931&format=png&auto=webp&s=5d0cd84a2e2a653bb73197f14c7962e38cc82867
Honestly after Syndra gets nerfed, she's now becoming a bit scary as we are now seeing a much slower meta which she would enjoy a lot. 4 Sniper becomes better also means now it's more flexible to play her with other tanks and carries instead of Lillia. The damage boost from 2 to 4 Sniper is also already being huge, adding Lillia on level 9 would certainly make it even much harder to beat.

Other Buffs

Ghostly gets a buff to trigger a bit faster. In practice the damage boost and health regen comes a bit earlier, also makes it more stable to trigger late game. If the META starts to shift towards reroll comps, Ghostly now becomes a great platform for multiple carries like Senna, Kindred, Zyra and Zoe. For reference, if we use Morgana that's potentially a 3% overall damage boost for triggering earlier:
https://preview.redd.it/w1v3f0s7kv0d1.png?width=766&format=png&auto=webp&s=fe1bb670c75d8298ff1c251c41aaf2d7b45ba47b
Kayle also gets a buff and now triple red and blue builds are doing similar level of damage. 5 Storyweaver buff also makes the mid game a bit smoother. However maybe not a good news for those who wants to reroll Zoe/Zyra:
https://preview.redd.it/chlmlvjekv0d1.png?width=894&format=png&auto=webp&s=2bd2ed4998aa7e7cb4105f1e8ed846e0423f65a8
Soraka gets a modest damage buff, would make her slightly better on carrying some AP items, but since you probably wouldn't hit 3*, it's mostly a bait not worth pursuing:
https://preview.redd.it/wp9jtc09lv0d1.png?width=762&format=png&auto=webp&s=8d382872d95d60395554f91f2b76d0f3748e7346

I bought some Rit sage dye but I’m worried it’ll be too vibrant or that it won’t really take ontop of the current color.

Although most episodes will focus on the cast and their goal to save Miitopia, I'll hope include some episodes that'll help character grow and develop. Character cast: Now my idea for a cast is that I'll follow one of Miitopia's best features, being able to put in any character in the story, now I'll only have one original character, being the protagonist, other that that, all other characters would've already exist, now due to copyright, I'll only cast Nintendo characters to fill the roles , I'll also might include some Pokemon characters since Gamefreak is close to Nintendo and some celebrities [Like youtubers, voice actors, etc] here and there, so if you don't like it my casting or think the Pokemon characters will lead to copyright, you can type your own cast down below. So let the madness and fun begin. The cast: Carefree Guide: Mario Cheery Granny: Gardevoir Sassy Child: Goomba Worried Mother: Indeedee Lovely-Dovey Couple: Ash and Serena Sarcastic Guy: Toad Dubious Mayor: Luigi Dark Lord: Louie Roving Photographer: Koopa Quizmaster: Orbeetle Prodigious Postman: Pelipper Roaming Gourmet: Kirby Serious Soldier: Boo Lax Soldier: Monty Mole Royal Supports: Bandana Dee and Escargoon King: King Dedede Princess: Lana Prince from Neksdor: Bulborb Besmirched Noble's Son: Waddle Dee Great Sage: Aphmau Genie: Spike Dancing Guide: Oricorio Rambling Old Man: Jack Black Shady Merchant Family: Toadette and Garos Worried Explorer: Bowser Prickly Couple: Inkling Boy and Girl Desert Celebrity: Chris Pratt Fab Faries: Peach, Daisy and Rosalina Injured Elf: Yellow Pikmin Fab Fairies fans: Regice, Regirock and Registeel Scaredy-Cat: Torracat Green-Eyed Lady: Zelda Lazybones: Ice Pikmin Mischievous Witch: Meowscarada Town Guide: Blue Pikmin Scholary Pioneer: Donkey Kong Dark Curse: Vanillite The Protangonist: Name: Gideon Description: Gideon is a traveling comedian who although laid back, loves to entertain people and make them smile, he went to Miitopia has it heard it was in a bad shape and he thought it meant that Miitopia needed cheering up, although he has a good heart, being laid-back his laziness limits his capabilities where it often leads to him not doing something at his best. After meeting the guardian spirit, he was given the powers of a mage, in Neksdor when Louie sealed away his powers he became a warrior, and in Realm of the Fey when his powers were sealed away again, he became a thief and when his powers were no longer sealed away, he became a wizard once more. Greenhorne Allies: Mallow: Class: Chef Description: Mallow left Alola soon after hearing about the culinary cuisine of Miitopia so she set off to learn the recipes of Miitopia dishes with her family. Now wanting to save them, she wanders around Miitopia look to save her family Steve [Red Pikmin]: Class: Warrior Description: Steve grew up on a long lost land, and is the best knight in his habitat. Until after the competition where the winner was about the being announced, the event is quickly interrupted by the Dark Lord where he starts stealing everyone's faces, him, his dog and his friends went to hide in the bathroom since according to his brain, everyone knocks before entering the bathroom, before anyone said something, the Dark Lord busted in and stole his friends' faces and his dog, after checking if the Dark Lord was gone, he swore vengeance, so went around hoping to find people to help him Rock Pikmin: Name: Rocky Class: Cat Description: On Rocky's natural habitat he owned a cat sanctuary, where he helped felines find forever homes and learned how to fight like a cat, so he after hearing about the exclusive cat breeds on Miitopia, he soon set off with his friend Purp but soon after the Dark Lord stole his cat Terry, him and his friend wanted revenge, but just with Purp's healing magic and his feline abilities, it wouldn't be enough, so the set off for heroes to find so they could help them. Throughout the series, Rocky suffers from an extreme lack of IQ so he needs help when it comes to situations that require intellect to solve. And together with Icecreamsandwich and Purp, the three often do dumb stuff together and get into all sorts of trouble. Realm of the Fey Allies: Tsareena: Class: Princess Description: After soon being seperated from Mallow, Tsareena ended up in Realm of the Fey, lost and not knowing where to go, soon she met up with a potion, thirsty and out of options, she drank it where it granted her the magically abilities of royalty. Golurk: Class: Tank Description: After hearing about Miitopia's situation, a bunch of Unova scientist got together and turned a Golurk into a weapon of mass destruction and was quickly shipped to Miitopia, after landing there, he started looking for the Dark Lord, and soon got orders from his creators to wait by a local inn to receive some allies to help him. During battle, Golurk will stop at nothing to defeat his opponents, even if it means firing his allies and shooting everywhere to ensure victory. He thinks he doesn't need help and often refuses assistance believing he can be a big shot and do it himself. Other Allies: Litwick: Class: Vampire Description: Litwick was caught by a vampire on vacation in Unova and the two quickly bonded. While in the land of Peculia, Litwick lived a simple life with his trainer in their mansion and his trainer taught Litwick vampire like abilities, until the Darker Lordsent a rat infestation in there, Litwick's trainer told him to get help to stop the rat invasion, soon he quickly met up with the protagonist and quickly asked him for help and after they agreed, they set off and during the journey Litwick quickly bonded with the team and after the rats were defeated, his trainer noticed his bond with the team and told them that if he wanted to go with them he wouldn't stop him, so Litwick quickly joined the party, and during his time in it, he often pulled pranks on his team and during battle, he likes to mix in fun by toying with his opponents and he calls them, his prey. Alchremie: Class: Elf Description: Alchremie lived in Peculia with a baker and together they made sweets for lotsa people. But after the Darker lord stole her trainer's face, she swore revenge, she went off to realm of the Fey to study the ways of elf magic and after learning the elf magic he returned to Peculia to look for her trainer's face soon after seeing the protagonist and his team struggle against a monster with her trainer's face, she went to the rescue and defeated the boss with ease. After her trainer got his face back Alchremie asked him if she could travel with the team to stop the Darker Lord, and her trainer quickly agreed. After this the team notice that Alchremie is a bit cautious, worries about a lot of things and likes to be ready for everything. Episode ideas: Now a lot of the series would be about the team saving Miitopia, but some episodes would be mainly about character growth and stuff like that. Some episode ideas I have: Lilligant the Shy Flower: After a battle with a strong demon, who made Lilligant worried about everything, it wouldn't wear off even in the safe spot, following a montage of the team trying to return her to normal like Mallow cooking her some magic food, Purp, Icecreamsandwich and Rocky pulling a prank on Olimar to cheer her up, Gideon telling a joke to cheer her up, or Steve just downright slapping her and many others, they figured that nothing could work until when the same demon invaded the inn and almost destroyed her team, Lilligant pushed herself and unleashed a hurricane blowing the demon away. Chaotic Tea Time: In the foreground we can see Lilligant and Tsareena having a tea party and chatting, while in the background Gideon and Golurk try to kill a fiend with all sorts of shenanigans, and the episode keeps switching from foreground to background and it ends with Golurk unleashing a powerful laser boosted with some energy cells Gideon has which ended up leveling half the forest.

Hit infinite with ultron, cl 13k
Hard to believe ultron is competitive at this cl level in May 2024 but the buff was well warranted I believe.
The decks this didn't do so well against were tribunal (a properly stacked tribunal can hit 30ish points in each location which is just over what this deck can do and you have no counter), mill decks (an unlucky doc ock can pull your ultron immediately filling up all 3 of your lanes, leaving you unable to do anything in t6). Lockdown decks were a mixed bag. If you're playing against someone that locks down a lane with Prof x, consider that lane lost. If someone locks down a lane with storm however, it's still all to play for. Mirror matches were also a bit hit and miss, as is usually the case.
This did surprisingly well against destroy decks (they usually killmonger on t3 or t4 to boost deadpool, so you can safely t6 ultron. Also none of the cards individually will hit 10 points or more apart from a blue marvel buffed mockingbird).
The hot location helped a tiny bit, but getting up to 6 or 8 extra points in the lane wasn't too much of a deal breaker. Usually I'd put brood there and dazzler.
The least used cards here are sage and valk. Sage I only really played if I had nothing else on the turn and would prioritise literally anything else. Valk didn't come clutch in many scenarios but it worked great against people running collector or angela/kitty.
Usually I would play everything on curve bar squirrel girl, sometimes I'd leave SG for t6 with one of the ongoing cards.

  • Various adjustments will be made to streamline certain aspects of the job, such as restoring MP upon landing ice spells while Umbral Ice is active, instead of passively over time
  • A new action which repositions Ley Lines beneath the caster once will be added
Summoner
  • Solar Bahamut, a new summon akin to Bahamut and Phoenix, will be added (new summon rotation will be: Solar Bahamut - Bahamut - Solar Bahamut - Phoenix)
  • A new attack action that can be executed after Searing Light will be added
  • Summoner will keep Resurrection for Dawntrail, but may have it removed in 8.0
Red Mage
  • Manafication will no longer increase Black Mana and White Mana by 50, and will instead allow the execution of enchanted swordplay actions without cost (can now be executed while mana is at 51 or more without waste)
  • The AoE enchanted swordplay combo beginning with Enchanted Moulinet will now consume a total of 50 Black Mana and White Mana, similar to its single-target counterpart
  • Whenever Embolden is executed, an attack ability will be enabled
Pictomancer
  • Link to Pictomancer overview and gameplay demonstration in the livestream (I found this job much easier to understand by watching the demonstration, BTW)
  • Job actions centered around Aether Hue elemental attacks (Red = Flare, Green = Aero, Blue = Water) and Motifs (Creature, Weapon, and Landscape)
  • Aether Hue attacks build a gauge that can be expended on White elemental Holy attacks as well as Subtractive Pallette, which upgrades your other elemental attacks to higher-potency elements.
  • Creature Motif involves rendering parts of a creature (eg. a Moogle) via attacks that will eventually summon the creature for a higher-powered attack
  • Weapon Motif is a fast triple-cast combo
  • Landscape Motif is a longer-cast action that deals damage to enemy and grants buffs to self and party members
Adjustments to Healers
  • Swiftcast’s recast time will be reduced top 40 seconds in the 90s level range
White Mage
  • A new action allowing the caster to quickly move forward will be added
  • A new AoE attack, which can be executed up to 3 times after Presence of Mind, will be added
  • New trait that increases Tetragrammaton stack number will be added
Scholar
  • Seraphism, a new action which changes the caster’s appearance and enhances healing magicks, will be added
  • A new AoE attack that can be executed after Chain Stratagem will be added; it will include a DoT
  • A new trait that reduces recast time for Recitation will be added
Astrologian
  • The card system will no longer be RNG based, and will instead simultaneously draw cards with offensive, defensive, and curative effects
  • Every 60 seconds, you can draw one set of four cards (divided under Lord of Crowns or Lady of Crowns), each card having different effects, and you can use the cards in that set depending on your situational needs
  • Astrodyne will be removed with the discontinuation of astrosigns
  • New trait that increases Essential Dignity stack number will be added
Sage
  • Eukrasia will now enhance Dyskrasia II into Eukrasian Dyskrasia, an AoE attack which deals damage over time to enemies within range
  • A new party buff, which heals party members whenever the caster casts a spell, will be added (basically a ranged version of Kardion, but will only be in effect for a limited amount of time)
  • New trait that reduces the recast time of Soteria will be added
PvP Updates
  • Viper and Pictomancer will be added to PvP in 7.0
  • New PvP actions, action adjustments, and adjustments to existing PvP maps are currently planned for 7.1
  • Crystalline Conflict ranked matches will;; be in preseason between 7.0 and 7.1 (rankings will not be updated, but tiers and Crystal Credit will be affected by wins and losses
New Characters
  • Two new NPCs that will appear in the Dawntrail MSQ were discussed: Bakool Ja Ja and Koana, who will both be competing for the throne of Tural. Bakool Ja Ja is a two-headed Mamool Ja, similar to Gulool Ja Ja, and Koana is the male Miqo’te from the Dawntrail poster.
    Other Information
  • Benchmark software/graphics update: Some adjustments have been made based on feedback on the original benchmark. These include adjustments to lighting in the character creator, as well as corrections to graphical oddities in character models (addressing things like Keeper of the Moon Miqo’te teeth and Lalafell mouths/teeth). These adjustments will be incorporated into a new benchmark available for download, in addition to the game itself with Dawntrail. Information about a release date for the new benchmark will be announced later.
  • Free Fantasia: Starting in 7.0, there will be a new NPC in Ul’dah with a low level quest that can be completed for one free Fantasia per character.
  • In addition, using a Fantasia will now grant a 60 minute period during which you can make additional adjustments to your character after re-entering the game world if you are not satisfied with how the adjustments look in game. There is no limit to how many additional times you can tweak your character within this 60 minute period.
  • Fall Guys collaboration event returns from May 23rd to June 10th
  • Mountain Dew promotional event (US only): enter codes found under caps of specially marked Man. Dew products to receive points that can be redeemed for rewards, including in-game rewards such as a “Mountain Zu” mount and a consumable drink item.
  • Preorders now open for new merchandise on the Square Enix store
  • Immerse Gamepack version 2.2 available now: https://embody.co/ffxiv
  • KFC promotional event is returning to Japan; details to be announced later
  • Next Live Letter (LL 82), summarizing upcoming additions for 7.0, scheduled for June 14th

Porto Zante - Ultra Luxe, Ultra Private Escape in the Ionian Islands
Just stayed at Porto Zante as our last stop in Greece and super pumped to share my review with you all. It really blew me away. I knew it's reputation for luxe was high, but the quality of the hotel and service was beyond my expectation.
This is an ultra luxe, ultra private all-vila escape on the east side of the island of Zakynthos, which is in the Ionian Sea. It’s very old money European vibes and a very similar feeling as Il Pelicano, though more luxe and a more beautiful setting IMO (I think the sea here is more beautiful). This is a place that highly values luxury, quality and service but is neither flashy nor boastful. This is where you go if you want to escape the world and be pampered in extreme luxury and perfect service. It’s the favorite of many prominent European families, celebs, CEOs and others who do *not* want to go to a place to be seen. Come here to fall off the map for a bit and enjoy the pampering of the beautiful weather, food, accommodations and service.

The property is open May through September.
Background
  • Porto Zante is owned by a family that started the project in 2002 with a single villa for their own use and expanded from there based on their guests’ demand. They didn’t really have any aim to build a big hotel (which they haven’t it’s only 9 villas). Most of their guests are repeat. Lots of old money families. They’ve expanded slowly and purposefully and only at the demand of their guests
  • Much of their expansion has been to bigger and bigger villas. So there’s 2 entry level 1 bedroom suites, 2 deluxe “spa” suites, 2 two bedroom suites, one royal two bedroom suite with an insane infinity pool over the water which is where we stayed, 1 three bedroom suite, 1 four bedroom suite and one imperial four bedroom spa villa
Location
  • Zakynthos, Greece
  • Kea, Mykonos, Santorini (Cyclades islands in the Aegean) are more of the harsh, rocky, cliff style of Greek island. Whereas Zakynthos and other Ionian Islands are the lush, green, vibrant islands - you can see based on my pics
  • Porto Zante is prime ocean front with unobstructed views of the water (you can see both Kefalonia and Peloppnese) from every room in the resort
Pricing
  • Entry level room is a Deluxe Villa for ~3000 EUnight during peak
  • Next level up is the Deluxe Spa Villa, which is much larger 1 BR for $4500 EUnight - if you wanted a 1BR, this is the way to go.
  • Pricing goes all the way up to ~20,000 EUR for the Imperial Spa Villa
  • While it’s not all inclusive in terms of pricing, it’s a similarly vibe as Naviva where the staff are extremely receptive to your needs and will get you anything you need any time of day. As an example, when we arrived we had one king bed in our room. And my mom (took my momma on this trip for Mother’s Day) asked that they split it into 2 twin beds like European hotels will do. They said sure, absolutely and we thought that was that. Well, we didn’t realize that the king they had was a true king, not two twins pushed together. So as they started to literally PICK UP the bed and remove it in order to bring in two twin beds, we were like OMG no it’s fine you don’t need to literally bring us a new bed! That's the level of service that you get. There’s no ask too large and they were legit so nonchalant with our request we didn’t even realize that they were going to actually remove our bed and bring us two twins as a replacement.
Service
  • I actually found the service to be even a step above that of Kea and Naviva simply because the staff has all been with the hotel for so long, they are so well trained, seasoned and professional. Whereas both Kea and Naviva were brand new or nearly brand new when I visited.
  • I’d say the overall expectation of the service at all 3 places is very much the same, but the level of polish of Porto Zante was a step above because they are just so small, the staff has very little turn over and they cater to an even more discerning crowd, to some extent.
  • I cannot stress how small and private it is. Many guests who come there never even leave their villas. You can get all your meals in the villas, which are simply enormous or eat them out on your massive terrace over looking the sea or hang by your private beach area (for the higher tier villas).
  • The service is extremely elevated, discreet and sensitive to your needs. They even have side doors in all the villas for your butlers to come in / out of so they don’t have to go through your main entrance and bother you while bringing food/other requests
  • When you’re out on the beach they will bring you complimentary smoothies/drinks/watewhatever
    • They silently changed out the ice for our watedrinks every hour as it started to melt
Accommodations
  • Every villa has panoramic, unobstructed ocean views. All of the villas are built one above the next up the side of the cliff so there’s no view that is obstructed at all by another room
  • Every villa has tons of vegetation both on the private terrace but also on the exterior architecture - trees and vines and flowers growing up the sides of all the villas so that the view from the water is like a living resort
  • The higher level rooms have direct beach access and their own private beach lounging areas
  • The privacy is insane. No one from any room or the paths can see you at all - no matter where you are in your villa
  • All the pools are heated and they can basically turn them into a hot tub if you wanted
  • The style of the villas is sort of an old money shabby chic. It’s very unique and it’s own thing, which is also why it reminds me of Il Pelicano. I loved it but if you’re into super modern vibes (like OO Kea Island), you may not like the aesthetic
  • You spend a lot of time in your villa - that’s how it’s designed. It’s not a place where you’re spending a lot of time mingling in the common areas with others
Beach / ocean
  • Every villa has their own dedicated beach loungers as well as access to loungers on the jetty they built out into the water which is the best area to hang. You can easily jump off here and swim. The water is super calm and placid every day until about 4pm when the wind picks up
  • The quality of the beach loungers is crazy. They were so wide it was like a twin bed, and so comfortable. And just another note on the service, if they see you even trying to look at your lounger to adjust the position, they come over and do it for you
  • Great zero entry beach that makes it easy to swim and safe for kids
  • Lots of water activities - boating, SUP, sea kayaking, sea biking
  • Water is so blue and perfectly clear
How to get here
  • A lot of guests fly private into Zakynthos
  • You can fly commercial direct via Heathrow as well
  • Many come by yacht - a lot of guests will be island hopping / yachting and choose to stop off at Porto Zante as a break from that
Food
  • Really really great. Not *as* great as Kea - which just blew us away, but I’d say a solid 9/10. Limited vegetarian options but they will make you whatever you want
  • Similar to Naviva in that you can order whatever you want. But if you have super specific dietary restrictions - it’s best to let them know your preferences ahead of time so they can order in specific ingredients for you
Inclusions
  • Breakfast
  • 2 spa treatments per villa
  • Complimentary activities and water sports
Disclaimer on the review: we get stays at hotels because we sell these hotels. Not in return for money or reviews. None of these hotels even know we have a reddit page where we talk about them. So there’s no quid pro quo for reviews here. We are invited because they know we have the client base who would be interested and so they want us to experience it so we can better discern which of our clients would be a good fit.

2024.05.16 13:12 bhumiapatil Modern Elegance Unveiled: Trendsetting Baby Shower Decoration Ideas by Take Rent Pe

Embracing the anticipation of a new life is a momentous occasion, and a modern baby shower deserves decorations that reflect both style and significance. In this guide, we explore cutting-edge trends in baby shower decorations, ensuring your celebration is a chic and memorable affair. From contemporary twists on traditional elements like seemantham decoration to incorporating divine elegance with godh bharai decoration, these ideas will redefine the aesthetics of your modern baby shower. All you need to do is look for Take Rent Pe, which offers baby shower decorations for rent. You can select from a variety of our decoration options. You can also quote your ideas, and we'll put them into practice. With just a single click, you may hire the décor arrangement and avoid wasting time and money on travel to meet multiple providers when you can have all you need under one roof. 1. Seamless Blending of Seemantham Decoration in Modern Themes: Traditionally associated with South Asian cultures, seemantham decoration has evolved, seamlessly integrating into modern baby showers. Instead of sticking to a strict color palette, experiment with pastel hues and metallic accents to add a contemporary touch. Opt for minimalist floral arrangements and modern motifs to strike the perfect balance between tradition and trend. Consider a stylish backdrop featuring geometric shapes or a custom-made banner with a modern twist on traditional symbols. Enhance the ambiance with subtle yet impactful touches, such as incorporating modern vases filled with flowers or greenery. The key is to create an atmosphere that pays homage to cultural roots while embracing the sophistication of modern design.
  1. Divine Sophistication with Godh Bharai Decoration: Elevate your baby shower to divine heights by incorporating godh bharai decoration with a modern twist. Instead of the conventional color schemes, opt for muted tones like blush pink, sage green, or even celestial-inspired shades of blue and gold. This approach infuses a sense of modern sophistication while maintaining the sacred symbolism of the occasion. For an assertively modern touch, choose elegant materials like satin, velvet, or sheer organza for drapes and tablecloths. Experiment with lighting by incorporating subtle, warm-toned string lights or chic chandeliers. Create a focal point with a personalized sign or banner that combines modern calligraphy with traditional elements, emphasizing the significance of the godh bharai ceremony.
  2. Gender-Neutral Minimalism: Modern baby showers often embrace the concept of gender neutrality, making it essential to adapt baby shower decorations accordingly. Choose a versatile color palette of soft grays, greens, and yellows that transcends traditional gender norms. Incorporate geometric shapes and patterns for a contemporary feel. Utilize minimalist table centerpieces with potted plants, succulents, or candles. Opt for simple, yet elegant, banners and garlands that celebrate the impending arrival without adhering to stereotypical gender colors. This approach not only aligns with modern design sensibilities but also promotes inclusivity in celebrating the joy of new life.
  3. Tech-Savvy Photo Booths: Take your modern baby shower to the next level by incorporating a tech-savvy photo booth. Replace traditional props with digital filters and augmented reality elements that add a fun and futuristic dimension to the celebration. Encourage guests to capture moments with virtual accessories that resonate with the overall theme. For added flair, create a dedicated space with a backdrop that complements the theme, whether it's a virtual landscape or a design that aligns with the seemantham or godh bharai decoration style. This not only serves as a source of entertainment but also allows guests to create lasting memories in a modern and interactive way.
Conclusion by: In conclusion, modern baby shower decorations are a fusion of tradition and contemporary elegance, creating an atmosphere that is both visually stunning and culturally significant. The seamless blending of seemantham decoration into modern themes and the infusion of divine sophistication with godh bharai decoration redefine the expectations of a stylish celebration. Embrace gender-neutral minimalism, experiment with modern color palettes, and introduce tech-savvy elements like a futuristic photo booth to ensure your baby shower is on the cutting edge of current trends. Celebrate the arrival of a new life with an assertive commitment to modern elegance, creating an event that not only honors tradition but also embraces the evolving aesthetics of the present day. With these trendsetting ideas in your repertoire, your modern baby shower by Take Rent Pe will be a chic, stylish, and memorable affair that resonates with the joyous anticipation of welcoming a new life into the world. Cheers to celebrating this milestone with sophistication, creativity, and a touch of modern flair!

2024.05.16 11:49 mintchocobean Need advice, especially from seed growers!

Hello everyone, I'm new to planting natives since I was a renter and mostly owned a bunch of houseplants. I would say I'm a fairly competent gardener. The only native I grew from seed was yarrow; literally tossed it in a pot and it grew in a few days last fall. It is still alive and blooming! I read up on native plant watering schedules, but my problem is when do I sow the seeds? I went crazy and bought about 20+ species to try to grow to transplant into my front yard. I will be growing them in 1-1.75 gallon pots and they will stay there until they get transplanted in spring or fall next year.
I want to start some or all this week because the weather is foggy and in the 70s during the day, 50s during the night. My zone is 9b-10a, but that only matters if I start some in the fall. I would say full sun won't matter too much to me because I have a covered patio I can move all the plants to or rig up a 50% shade cloth awning to cover all the pots.
If you have any advice about any of the plants I have bought, please let me know, especially if they are the type that die back and reseed themselves. I might have to hold off and plant them in fall so they won't die until I transplant them in my yard and reseed themselves there.
I will probably plant the poppy seeds because I have a ridiculous amount of seeds.
Is it a bad idea to repot a 1 gallon Ceanothus spinosus into a 2 gallon pot?
The list of seeds I bought are:
Yerba Santa Woolly bluecurls Tidy tips Tansy leaf phacelia Sticky monkey flower Showy penstemon Purple innocence Golden yarrow Globe Gilia Desert bluebells Common Buckwheat Coastal Goldenbush Chaparral mallow California poppy, Purple Gleam California Poppy, Carmine King California Poppy California Goldenrod California fuschia California Buckbrush California blue bells Purple sage Ashy leaf buckwheat Apricot mallow Arroyo Lupine
