2024.05.02 19:22 ryan0694 Bambu ASA Aero

Bambu ASA Aero
The new Bambu ASA Aero is a filament with foaming properties based on the printed temperature. I created a test print based on the range provided by Bambu labs. From left to right in the picture is 220C .93 flow rate ratio(FRR), 230C .90FRR, 240C .74FRR, 250C .60FRR, 260C .51FRR, 270C .45FRR, and 280C .44FRR. all cubes were printed using 80mm/s and other than that standard ASA settings for cooling etc.
I had initially attempted to print at 120-150mm/s but the infill was not laying down properly so I slowed it down. The 260C cube delaminated when I tried removing it from my PEI build plate, however I did not give sufficient time for cooling.
The dimensions of the cubes measured by some digital calipers are in order as follows
220C: X19.88mm Y19.80mm Z19.98mm 230C: X19.83mm Y19.77mm Z20.03mm 240C: X19.83mm Y19.75mm Z19.96mm 250C: X19.75mm Y19.77mm Z20.09mm 260C: X19.90mm Y19.84mm Z N/A 270C: X19.85mm Y19.77mm Z19.99mm 280C: X19.85mm Y19.83mm Z20.00mm
All of these measurements had a range of +/-10%, it's possible this is from inaccuracies in the printer or calipers and not an attribute of the filament.
The density of the filament significantly decreases with an increase in temperature. All of the cubes were printed at 10% grid infill with 2 walls, 3 bottom shells, and 5 top shells. The weights of each cube in order are as follows:
220C: 3.00g 230C: 2.85g 240C: 2.34g 250C: 1.89g 260C: 1.49g* 270C: 1.41g 280C: 1.37g
*As a reminder the 260C model had lost ~3-4 layers due to the delamination the actual weight of the whole model needs verification.
The strength of each model decreases as temperature increases. To test strength I applied significant for to crushing the model and then tried pulling it apart by the layers. I only spent a few seconds on each model. The amount of force I applied was significantly greater than any amount of normal handling. The 220C-240C models I was unable to crush or delaminate, at 250C-270C the models were more delicate and able to be crushed with force. The 280C model seemed to be stronger than the 250C-270C models and was more difficult to crush but it delaminated with force. Of course this is very subjective.
The overall print quality of the filament seems to degrade at higher rates of foaming. There is increased stringing and pitting on the print as the temperature increases. The stringing is easily removed with my nail.
The surface finish is glossier at lower temps and becomes matte with an increase in temperature. There are no bubbles visible to the naked eye unlike when printing with wet filament where you can clearly see the water bubbling upon extrusion.
The print was done all in one go with 7 models on one plate printed object by object with a change in temperature between each object. The first layer of each print was done during the temperature change so this may change the results slightly. Aside from the 260C cube there were no major errors in the print
I do not have a method to test temperature resistance.
Overall this filament has significant potential in lightweight outdoor components that don't see significant stress. Things like RC aircraft wings, model rockets nose cones, and or fins are a few examples. The filament provides the option of higher strength parts at a lower temperature or significantly decreased weight while still being mildly sturdy at higher temperatures. Another factor to consider is the rate at which you'll be going through spools. As the temperature increases the amount of filament being used decreases extending the life of a roll. This filament is hygroscopic so definitely recommend keeping in a dry area and dry before use.
I can answer any questions about my methodology or filament properties in the comments.

2024.05.02 19:21 pydum Build a clickable data on a calendar: content_tag in an array

Hello. Time again for a question. I'm building a calendar app.
I've built the html structure, simple table 7x5, that is filled by an array: calendar with numbers of days in the right day of the week columns, spaces where it needs. Calendar is built via simple helper based on the month that produce the '@calendar, and you can change month clicking of opportune arrays. Actual month is saved on a cookie. Here the code, it is pretty standard
<% (1..7).each do d%> <% end %> <% (8..14).each do d%> <% end %> <% (15..21).each do d%> <% end %> <% (22..28).each do d%> <% end %> <% (29..35).each do d%> <% end %>
<%= u/calendar[0] %>
Lun Mar Mer Gio Ven Sab Dom
<%= @calendar[d]%>
<%= @calendar[d]%>
<%= @calendar[d]%>
<%= @calendar[d]%>
<%= @calendar[d]%>
Actually '@calendar is filled only with the right numbers for the data in string form
I have my simple model Event, with a date and other fields, and month_event is a simple query to find the event of a specific month (max 1 event a day in this test)
Now, I'm interested to insert in the calendar the events of the month.
Probably easiest solution is something as:
<%= (1..7).each do d %> .... <% if event=month_event.where("EXTRACT(DAY FROM date) =?", d) %> <%=link_to @calendar[d], event %> <% else %> <%= @calendar[d] %> <% end %> ....
but, for the sake of learning, I'm asking if there is a way to transform '@calendar in a sort of view helper, something as
@calendar[a_day] = content_tag(a, a_day.to_s, a_day_event)
where a_day_event is the event of the day.
Well, I don't know it anyone have understood what I'm trying to ask.. But, anyway, thanks in advance for your effort.

2024.05.02 19:21 KassandrasRevenge Online Learning Platform - SASS Class

Hey friends,
I had a question that's kind of out of left field. Many years ago, I created an online course for my coven (20-50 people, it varied) to help new members onboard into our organization. It covered some basics concepts of "witchcraft" rooted in the 4 elements and other basic skills/concepts.
Each unit had several lessons under it, with information to be learned, an assessment to test comprehension, and activities to strengthen and set up one's own practice.
I designed it to mention deity/spirit work, bc that was the belief system of my group at the time. I was a little more psychology/science/placebo-effect oriented, and thus the odd person out.
I was thinking of redesigning the course, but for the SASS witch. SASS is a broad category, so I would do everything I could to make it as inclusive as possible. My background is in educational training, training design, and diversity education, fwiw.
(Note: I am not saying that SASS witches and deity/spirit workers are mutually exclusive, I'm sure there are people who fall into both categories).
ANYWAY - my question to you all is...is there a market for this? Would be people be interested?
People new to the scene - what would you want to learn?
Seasoned practitioners - what do you think is important to know/teach?
Are there any great SASS resources that should be included?
Obviously one course isn't enough to cover everything, but I figured it could at least be a starting place for SASS-ys who wanted to get their feet wet.
Thoughts?

2024.05.02 19:20 spawn1080 Frustrating exam delays at Pearson Testing Center

I took my PMP exam yesterday and my experience with the workstations at the testing center was less than stellar. This sub has been beyond helpful as a resource, so I'm posting here as a cautionary tale. I hope no one else goes through the same thing and would love to hear about similar experiences.
TL;DR: Repeated screen freezes and delivery errors caused significant delays throughout on-site exam. These issues compromised my focus and performance, extending my completion time by at least 45 mins.

2024.05.02 19:19 abhidas0 Want to fight legal battles for and with people of our against AstraZeneca for giving us covishield and also against the authorities who, despite knowing the threat it poses.

TLDR if you are not a patriotic person!
Hello Citizens of our beloved country!
This post is not made with any political intention!
I am a lawyer in Delhi.
We have recently heard the sad and unfortunate admission by the AstraZeneca pertaining to covishield vaccine.
Over the past few years we have heard and seen numerous people in their young ages, dying due to cardiac arrest.
Many parents have lost their young child, many children have lost their parents and the list goes on, but WHAT ARE WE GOING TO DO ABOUT THIS?
WHY ARE WE NOT FIGHTING AGAINST IT?
WHY ARE WE BOT FIGHTING TO GET JUSTICE FOR OUR LOVED ONES WHO DIED BECAUSE OF ONE GLORIFIED DECISION OF THE PRIME MINISTER OF INDIA ?
The company must have known about this since the beginning and if yes the government must have been aware about it too.
Despite knowing everything we were pushed for down the hill and it was controlled and regulated by the central government, with a heroic stunt.
We as a citizen must think and realise how dangerous all this is, all people with covishield are hanging in the air, we have been thrown in to the hands of death and many are following the lead.
All this just for gaining heroic picturisation of their leaders!
As a nation we must come together and fight against the decision of use of covishield on people of our country, we have seen and heard the consequences already.
I am too vaccinated with covishield and I am scared, as I am feeling light pain in my chest for months now. I, will be running to the hospital immediately to get myself tested and treated if need be.
I am thinking of filing PIL in supreme court, people who wish to join can lend a helping hand!
Fighting a legal battles can be troublesome and may lay hands on your pockets, so think before picking up the fight with me, because there is no turning back.
THIS IS THE TIME WE AS A NATION SHOULD COME TOGETHER AND ASK SOME BIG AND OK IMPORTANT QUESTIONS.

NATIONAL SAWAL PUCHO ABHIYAN!

2024.05.02 19:18 pprstspco Pregnancy and stage 4 endo?

Tw: miscarriage.
I have stage 4/severe endo. I've had a 2 laps, one to remove my ovary that was basically destroyed with growths and the second to reattach the other ovary which detached and went on vacation behind me colon (that sucked btw) and to remove adhesions. My doctor said "this is clinically what we call... a mess." I ended up pregnant this month, and my doctor wanted scans immediately to rule out ectopic because apparently that's super likely now. I tried and tried not to get super excited. But I lost it around 5/6 weeks and we had a scary moment where the hcg was still rising. It seems to be going down now but I have a few more tests to rule out ectopic. The bleeding has been intense. Following the guidelines of a pad an hour is pointless. Because that's normal for us :/ I still went in when I was short of breath and was dehydrated from being so sick. I guess my real question is...has anyone here successfully carried to term with such a severe stage of endo? Its been quite traumatizing even though I know the statistics of early miscarriage... I'm just worried it will be ectopic next time.

Used Petersons test prep as main study source and was scoring high 80's on the practice tests. In my opinion the questions were not worded similar to on the exam. 2024.05.02 19:16 INCORRIGIBLE_CUNT LOOM question: temperature important to storage?

Hey friends.
I recently came into possession of a gorgeous turn of the century loom made of old wood and iron. It is a behemoth and I have only a couple options for setting it up. I can set it up in the basement (note: waiting on a radon test currently) OR I can set it up in my garage. The basement would be an OK place because it is warm year round, there’s a dehumidifier and that would work well with the loom itself. There’s just not a lot of room for a workshop down there. The second option and the one I have questions about is the garage. It’s dry there, but the temperature control is not available. I would have a heater while working out there in the winter (I am in Wisconsin) but the heater would be off when I am not outside, thereby exposing the loom to temperature extremes. Is this normally some thing to take into account when setting up a loom workshop?
Id really love to set it up in my house but the house is from the 1890s and already had problems with structural safety so I’d rather not add to it.
Thanks for input!

2024.05.02 19:16 Ok_Depth7488 Child Labour and YouTube

Don’t you guys think it is also a child labour to ask your kid to record a video and promote the products and brand in your videos. This thought just came in my mind when I was scrolling Insta and watched the Shirazi Village Vlog. There are many in social media kids stars now in Pakistan who are working and earning $$$ every month by making videos and reels. Why the authorities are not taking any legal action against the parents or why they are not putting an age limit of at least 15 years to be eligible for Content Creator on Social Media. I am currently in mid twenties, and I am seeing most of the kids who are 6 - 14 years have started making vlogs even in my family my two little cousins are making vlogs and uploading them on YouTube. And seriously whenever I ask those kids k baray ho kar kya banogay? I got this reply, Gamer or YouTuber and sometimes get no reply. And when I was of their age when someone asked me the same question, I used to answer Pilot and that Pilot dream lead me to appear in PAF test after my intermediate but qismat me or kuch behtreen likhaa thaa toh I was out on 3rd stage. I assume, If Govt do not take any action or put any limit after 20 - 30 years we will be hiring doctors, engineers, chartered accountants and other professionals from other nations on high wages. What you guys think?

2024.05.02 19:13 Tootalooo Ready to add more fish?

Ready to add more fish?
Here is a shot of my tank, and the parameters they seem to ALWAYS be at when I test.
  • 10 gallon
  • I have two dwarf gourmis and a bristle nose in here. I have apparently adopted some bladder snails, and they are reproducing- I don’t mind them.
  • I mainly do top offs (due for one now, relax), and do 20% water changes every two weeks
  • I never vacuum the substrate (should I?)
My question- can I add more fish? What kind? Other snails?
My other question- my water just never appears to be very clear, and some algae is starting to form on the substrate. Time to vacuum or just leave it be?

Handmade Gifts for Mother’s Day

Part of Little Sunshine’s Reggio Emilia Philosophy is the belief that children are collaborators in their own learning. One of the best ways to include your children in an active, educational way is by getting creative with them. For all the dads and spouses out there looking to build a special moment for your whole family this Mother’s Day, roll up your sleeves, break out the crafting supplies, and get ready for some fun as you get creative with these 11 handmade gifts.

Fingers & Toes

Few things bring out the “ooos” and “awwws” like a homemade gift made with fingerprints and footprints. Create an instant keepsake with these five different gift ideas.
Fingerprint Art – Load up a palette with different colored paints and let your kids go wild! Use fingerprint dots to make a bigger picture about why mom is special to them. Give your kids idea starters if they need them, but let them take ownership of what they create.
Handprint Bouquet – If your kids aren’t quite at the level to create their own art with fingerprints, use just their hands and various paints to create a bundle of “flower-prints” that mom can keep forever.
Handprint Art (from Mod Podge Rocks) – For something a bit more ready-to-hang, buy canvases from a local craft store and get to work on creating a gift that captures your child’s age and personality through one piece of art.
Footprint Kitchen Towels (from A Crafted Passion) – Don’t forget that feet make great paintbrushes, too! With a couple of tea towels and your kids favorite colored paint, you can create a gift mom will use and see everyday.
Footprint Stepping Stones (from A Crafted Passion) – What’s more permanent than stone? Your love for mom, of course! (Aww…) This craft is more involved and takes more prep work on the adult’s end, but the finished product is sure to please.

Mother’s Day Bouquet

Mother’s Day and springtime go hand in hand. Use this time of year to inspire the gifts you and your kids make for her special day.
Personalized Flower Pots – No matter the age, your kids will have fun painting flower pots to give to mom. Don’t forget to put your children’s names and dates on the finished product so anyone who sees it will know who your local artisans are
Cupcake Liner Flowers (from First Palette) – Flowers are beautiful, but they only last so long. Work alongside your kids to create fun, whimsical flowers that will last all year long.
Pressed Flowers in a Frame (from Lily Ardor) – Be the envy of everyone else on Mother’s Day by working with your kids to create these incredible, one-of-a-kind gifts. Have your children be the ones to choose which flowers to press and how they are arranged. They’ll be beautiful reminders of how much they love mom!

One-of-a-Kind Treasures

Just like greeting cards, generic gifts are nice… but there’s something extra special about presents that are made with one person in mind. Use these three gift ideas as inspiration for creating something unique for mom this Mother’s Day.
Mother’s Day Book – Immortalize how much mom means to everyone by creating a book all about her. Feel free to create your own story or use a starter template if you need some inspiration.
Personalized Bookmarks – “I love you” bookmarks are perfect gifts for a mom who loves to read. They’re simple, highly customizable, and something mom will see and love every time she picks up her newest book.
Interview on Mom (from Morning Motivated Mom) – Have a talk with some of mom’s biggest fans — your kids! Come up with your own questions or use a few tried and tested ones from others who have done it before. The answers will be totally unique to your kids about the person you all are celebrating … mom!
There are lots of ways you can celebrate mom this Mother’s Day. As you work with your kids to create gifts just for her, think about how those activities enrich their lives and engage them in the learning process. Creating these gifts can engage their writing and drawing skills. Giving small gifts gives them practice with being generous and social. And crafting with other family members lets them get their hands messy while learning how to be creative and work as a team. That’s a win for everyone!

2024.05.02 19:12 AtheistPlumber Anyone else?

Anyone else?
I am the Field Supervisor and technician trainer where I work, so I am well aware of how these work and the plumbing systems. I have come across this twice recently with two separate customers. Both the same model Delta 1300/1400 series cartridges, both the newer style, not the longer thin one, the shorter fat one ( I don't remember the Delta RP # off the top of my head). Out of nowhere, they no longer got water out of the fixture . The pressure balancing spool in both fixtures would restrict the cartridge closed and inoperable the moment you turn the handle on. No piping was changed. No repairs done recently. No integral stops. No debris in the water lines. We replaced the cartridges with OEM parts, same issue. Installed the cartridges upside down, same issue. Both customers also had the same Delta shower valves in another bathroom in the home that functioned perfectly fine. One customer that was specifically my client, I had my tech open the wall and follow the water line to where it joined the manifold for both showers. No obstructions in the pipe or the valve body. The flow out of the line when tested was full pressure. We ended up replacing the valve and everything works now.
My question to my fellow plumbers out there is what would cause this? Especially, what would cause this so suddenly? I know the balancing spool will close when there's an imbalance in pressure. But as you've read, there was nothing preventing the water from flowing to the valve and the water flows through the valve without the cartridge installed. Once it's installed, the balancing spool closes. Let's see what you've got.

2024.05.02 19:10 Matt053105 WE MADE IT

Just passed the psychomotor after having to retest my medical assessment(had activated charcoal explode in my bag from previous and went into shutdown freakout mode but killed it this time) and took the nremt earlier this week. The NREMT was definitely scary and passed first try WOOOHOOO. Used pocket prep aswell and the 2024-25 newstone NREMT study guide from Amazon, would very much recommend that book, it includes 6 practice tests and has study/reading sections on most things that will show up on the exam, going through the questions in that book and reviewing the various reading section at the same time for things you're unsure was very very resourceful. Took the NREMT on Tuesday and the adage about feeling like you completely failed and knew nothing on the exam is very real. I went in, knew somethings but felt like the stupidest person in the world, but was shutoff at 70 questions. Really glad I read enough online to see that if you get stopped at 70 and feel like you failed, you probably passed, otherwise I would have been completely miserable waiting for those results. The NR never actually emailed me my results had to go login in to see if I passed (probably because my psychomotor isn't processed yet), but waiting for the results is worse than the test itself. Would definitely recommend not over studying and just going in and getting it done, don't second guess yourself on questions, you're intuition knows the material better than you think, changing answers messes you up. Now all I need is for D.C. Health to process my psychomotor and were officially and EMT, so excited. Already far along in the onboarding process with a maryland vfd so hopefully I'll be working soon. Will probably apply to D.C. amr just cuz I would like to make some money. Does any one have experience with AMR in the district and if so should I just go for it or completely stay away? Any ways thank you for coming to my ted talk, keep at it guys.

Took my exam on Tuesday (4/30) finished school on 4/11… used archer q bank did so many little quizzes and got 4 very high on the readiness assessments.
I walked out the test thinking I bombed it. The test was all over the place. I got bow ties , 5 case studies, content was not specified to one subject . I felt like I guessed a lot, saw stuff I never heard of before. Butttttt the format of question was just like Archer but more vague .
Goodluck to everyone. I didn’t try the PVT trick because I was terrified and very anxious during the 48 hr wait!

2024.05.02 19:06 deviant324 How many versions of the Rudy Suspension for Gravel Bikes are there actually?

The ones I’m aware of are the regular version with 30 or 40mm travel (why 30 is a thing when people question whether 40 is enough is beyond me but Canyon says theirs are all 30) and then there’s an ultimate version that’s a 40mm carbon variant. But what about a lockout?
The reason why I’m asking is because I’ve recently bought a 2023 Revolt X Advanced Pro 2 (waiting for it to ship) that comes with a regular 40mm version. Now in reviews I believe I’ve heard and seen that the regular 40mm is also supposed to have a lockout, but I’ve recently had a test ride on a Revolt X 1 which should have the same Rudy as the Advanced series (non-ultimate) and unless I’m blind and the shop guy didn’t know what he was selling, that one didn’t actually have a lockout.
Are there multiple versions of the regular 40mm one that either do or don’t have a lockout? Am I just mixing up parts and the lockout is ultimate only (or from a competitor)? And I suppose most importantly, does my Pro 2 come with one? It’s really hard to find any reviews on my exact model, in fact the only one I’ve found has most parts replaced so you can’t get an accurate picture of the stock loadout.
