Weedeater starts revving really high and loud after about 6 minutes of use

2024.05.04 23:25 OB3YXWOLF Weedeater starts revving really high and loud after about 6 minutes of use

So recently i fixed two weed weedeaters, a 2006 weedeater featherlite plus fl26 (need fuel line replacement, carb adjustment and primer bulb replacement) it hadnt been used since 2006, and i also fixed a bolens Bl110 (needed a fuel line replacement. They both ran fine for about 6 minutes but then started revving way higher and louder and vibrate a lott and i dont think this is a fuel mix issue but i dont know what do, i havent cleaned the carbs as i dont know how to since im fairly new to this and this was my first time repsiring somethig something with an engine, my dad bought the gas so im not sure if it was ethanol free but i do know if it wasnt, the max it could have is 10%,

2024.02.05 22:04 MongoloidSpacePoosy Signs of low compression?

I’m new to small engines trying to figure out why this engine only had 30psi compression. As far as I can tell there’s no major signs of scoring on the piston or cracks in the cylindepiston. No signs on forbidden glitter either. Engine goes to a Bolens bl110 weed eater. Any pointers are appreciated. Thanks!

2023.08.11 22:15 AppalachianYeoman Bolens BL110 ready for the dumpster

I've owned the same Bolens weedeater for the better part of a decade now. It ran like a champ until last week, when it died in the middle of trimming my yard. After letting it sit overnight, I went out the next day and it fired up, but would only stay running halfway between choke and the partial choke setting. I went ahead and removed the spark plug and it looked fouled, so I replaced it. I also removed the carb and cleaned everything; the diaphragm looked rough, but I thought I'd give it a shot anyway. The issue persisted and fuel was spraying out of the carb intake, so I broke down and bought a new carb and tune up kit. After replacing the carb, all the fuel lines, fuel filter, primer bulb, etc. still no luck. Now it will only fire up and stay running for maybe 10 seconds at the most, and that's after priming it and cranking it several times. I've also tried starting it without the gas cap to no avail.
Any ideas before I smash it into bits? Seems to be getting spark just fine.

2023.02.16 01:34 cosays33 best weed eater?

Tried to post in small engines but guess text isn't allowed. Anyway I was wondering what your thoughts are on best weed eaters. I currently have a bolens bl110 that is okay but I want to upgrade this year sometime. Thanks in advance!

2022.08.07 18:29 Nights_emporium65275 Trimmer head for bolens bl110

I can’t find a good replacement. I’m looking for a bump feed wind up head but I can’t find a good one that’s worth the money. Any suggestions?

2022.04.08 22:27 GSEninja Bolen Weedeater, broken driveshaft

Couldn’t find a sub that was dedicated to landscaping tools, figured I’d ask here.
Driveshaft for my Bolen BL110 broken the other day, got the main piece out, but there’s still about 6” stuck at the head end of the weedeater. This is as far as I’ve disassembled the head without breaking anything. Can’t apply any torque to that nut with putting vice grips on the shaft.
Any ideas on how to remove the 6” piece stuck inside?

2019.11.21 17:05 alrashid2 Help choosing leaf blower for yard on 1.5 acre wooded lot

Hey guys. Bought a rural home that is surrounded by woods, with a small front yard and larger fenced in back yard. Gigantic, old Oaks and Maples all over the property and throughout the yard too.
The leaves are just insane. I let them build up because I couldn't keep up, and the leaves cover the grass 4 inches deep! I did two passes with my large mulching mower and still, leaves everywhere.
I bought a handheld Bolens leaf blower for 90 bucks at Lowes.
It is 25cc, 180 MPH, and 400 CFM.
It just isn't cutting it, Unless the leaves are barely a pile, when I use this the thick fallen leaves just seem to topple over each other and don't move. And I need to push these leaves FAR into the woods to get them out of the yard.
I thought about upgrading to a nice Husqvarna backpack leaf blower. However, even their $300 models, despite being backpack blowers, have very similar specs to the little Bolens.
Here's an example. https://www.lowes.com/pd/Husqvarna-350BT-50-cc-2-cycle-180-MPH-692-CFM-Gas-Backpack-Leaf-Blowe1000737408
Engine is twice as big at 50CC - however, speed is the same (180 MPH) and only a 94 CFM increase at 494 CFM.
I feel like I'm going to buy this and not even notice a difference.
Then there doesn't seem to be an inbetween, as the next jump jumps to 890 CFM!
Any help would be really appreciated
