Summarizing the Steam/GOG/younamethestore catalogs.
An observation on how much you can see and how much you can actually choose from.

"Farming RPG" games:

A boom since Stardew Valley (which is a successful clone of Harvest Moon). These are all the same, sandboxes with RPG elements and some dungeon exploration. Mostly aimed at women (cute-looking ones) but some transcend to both genders like Stardew Valley by its more "gender neutral" graphic style approach (still it has a majority of female playerbase, go check nexus mods an see available mods to get an idea). Stardew Valley is a good game, but when you start seeing farming-rpg games popping up everyday, it all loses shine very quickly. They are all the same: basic story you enherited a farm from someone and complete objectives that either the game gives or you put by yourself, since its mostly a sandbox game. Its a "do it at your own liking" with no "evil" plot in it or a mild one that can be overcomed and will not end the game. These games hook by the quantity of items that can be gathered/created and the sense of progression it gives to the player. Once the progression feeling stops, the game dies instantaneously.
PS: 2024 - Steam introduced the "Farming FEST".

If I make a farming game sometime, the description will be:
"Build your dream farm with your friends, etcetera... etcetera."

"Simulators":

Back in the day, a "simulator" was a serious word. You read "simulator" and you knew it was serious. It was about machinery operation with complex (or not so much by that time) and realistic functions and controls. It was meant to be "close to the real thing" but of course, it was not for the most part. The magic was that it tried to be close to reality or at least it was inteded to be, and you could feel that even with the technology limits. Now, "simulation" games are well... every game out there, apparently. Go and search on the simulation tag to know what I'm talking about. Now it seems any game can be a simulator as long as it mimicks some aspect of reality, according to the self proclaimed "gamers". Not strange to see amateur-made first person "job simulators" that are simple "press E key to" etcetera... . Back then, when steam didn't flood the store with trash quality, amateur, eternal beta games and didn't let users tag games, a simulator was thought to be a car, truck, plane, ship or spaceship driving game; some where FPS military games like ARMA series and such. Now it seems to be 90% of the store, no matter how cartoony, simple or comic the game is.
Oh yes, \"Ramen oil simulator\" is what I had in mind when I typed \"simulator\" in the search.
What it should be: \"Flight Simulator\". What it is: \"Cat Simulator\".

"Farming Simulators":

Its like the daughter of both above. I don't have to say too much about this; all these games have the same artwork, behave more or less the same.
https://preview.redd.it/sfkd64kj01yc1.png?width=644&format=png&auto=webp&s=f5d9c2eb5dd649742ec902ab2e55d1dad5092506

Lovely variety. I also like the MS Flight Simulator font an all of them.

"Visual Novels/Dating Simulators":

For sad, lonely weird people that in real life are dreaming of meeting the perfect submisive, busty, girly, schoolgirl of their dreams, but need the extra time waste of a long banal story for their social needs. These people's profile is that they think they live as if they were anime characters and believe that women are hentai girls and girls believe men are hentai boys. They live their fantasies and these games confirm their mindset. I call this "social porn" since its more focused at social interactions instead of just pornographic content. I don't even want to think the mass behaviour studies these games are gathering from their playerbase (unless they used firewalls to play them, which I think they don't).
Nice! a game that has \"interactive gameplay elements\" on it.

"World War 2" games:

The usual theme portraying north americans as the ones that won the second great war when in reality, they entered the war late and by the window while benefiting from it; and the russians where the ones that sacrificed themselves, even women and very young boys and girls in the millions to actually defeat the Nazi Germany and faced an international "allies" nuclear bombs plot to seize the entire Russia. It has to be said though, that Stalin was in power by that time so they had their reasons back then, still, it was plain backstabbing. Despite this, there are really good titles out there like "Company of Heroes" or the "Close Combat" series to name a few in the strategy realm. But, as we are now used to, this theme has been abused at high levels making it lose shine with time. Also north americans seem to be using McCarthyism on them.
They even prefer embodying the Nazis against the Russians, than Russians against Nazis. Someone wants to erase history and replace it with its own version...

"Tycoon" games:

I like what in my time were called just "strategy games". Now it seems that its not enough, and they are "economy simulators"... yes... more "simulators". These are strategy management games. The mania of "tycoon" games exploded late, with the iconic "Roller Coaster Tycoon" being oldware already and a lot of nostalgia involved as a trend. Developers seem to have started using the "tycoon" part to give a clear description of what the game is about, referencing RCT for quickly showing what they where about. Now the genre is still about economics but the games are varied in mechanics and graphics, for example some are in first person mixing the modern term of "simulation" but still being called "tycoon". The "genre" has lost a lot of trust since these games started popping out too much and with rapidly decaying quality; mostly because they were trying to be innovative by adding complexities (micromanagement) that were not needed. This genre is seeing a revival of "theme park" games, which are ruining that genre by adding more and more and more micro-management to their titles.
Totally not abusing \"Tycoon\" name.

"City Builders":

They hang on the tits of the mothers of all this genre: "Simcity" series and Sierra city builders like "Pharaoh", "Caesar" and such. Truth is, this is not so abused like the others, but the attempts to make it have new features is not giving good results. It seems people prefer Simcity-like games like "Cities Skylines" (the first, since the second is unplayable) than any other. The key here is the isometric 2D-like or plain 2D view. But, developers didn't abide by this "rule" and went ahead with full blown out 3D making these, expensive in hardware requirements for a type of game that always had high requirements as a base due to simulated logistics and calculations of entire simulated cities. You can render every person's teeth model in perfect 3D for no reason and you will only clog your game performance. Cities Skylines is the perfect example. A good genre, an almost untouched genre that is becoming less and less playable with time due to ridiculous development desitions.
So, apparently, \"Planet Zoo\" is considered a \"city builder\" by our beloved and grown up Steam community.

"Anime fighting" games:

I can't say too much about these; they are all generic attempts of Capcom's arcade fighting games, which are also self-clones of "Street Fighter". They are all getting more and more ridiculous with time like anime. They are all designed the same: affected and exagerated characters, ridiculously large swords, busty hentai girls in the characters roster and stupidly fast paced combat (button masher) action combined with "super power" mini cutscenes. Since I stopped playing these games since the old times, I can only wonder if they stopped the AI cheating that all these suffered from.
https://preview.redd.it/tx3ngr7f41yc1.png?width=644&format=png&auto=webp&s=e59e73197828a866b6055edf1760f9efe4d7d152

"Anime themed" games:

Anime is here to stay, its a pushed trend by americans which have long colonial relations with the asian subsidiary, that also loves americans (despite them dropping two atomic bombs over its country). And as such, these videogames have all the clichés you can 'nightmare'. From perfect sluts in tight dresses acting like ninja candid schoolgirls to comedy relief characters that resemble a potato with eyes, to pathologic collectionism, to american praise with the statue of liberty appearances, american trends praise, LGBT, american flag appearances, etcetera. Go watch the Nintendo catalog, if you want and you will see what I say. You can also watch VGL youtube channel and see some old japanese games praising american culture.

Boobs. Because without boobs, its not anime enough.
Sexual content. Boobs ahead.

"Survival" or "Crafting" games:

90% the store is this genre. Minecraft clones, in real-looking graphics, in pixel art or boxel art as the original. Grind for resources, build stuff with them and that's it. Some even try to give an objective, some are just sandboxes. These games hook the players because of the resource variety and the crafting variety, with manufacturing processes but almost all end the same: there is no real goal or its completely secondary. It would not be a problem until you realize the game doesn't make sense by itself, since you are not feeling like you "reached a goal" anymore. Think of it like "Animal Crossing" which is the most infamous, anxiety inducing, pathological collectionism inducing, boring, childish and senseless game I've ever tried in my adult life.

When you see something like this toolbar and think: \"yet another minecraft clone\" (yeah, SV included)

PS: don't you hate that generic firecamp guitar music that starts playing when the generic-indie-farm-tycoon game trailer starts playing?

2024.04.30 20:43 Pessimistic-Bug-23 everybody plz don’t come for me

is it just me or do y’all feel it too? whenever lily is excited ab something jessi seems to be like 😐 and kills it for lily whereas when jessi is excited about something lily hypes her up and gets excited with her (ex: lilys mac n cheese a billion episodes ago)
don’t get me wrong i love them both but it seems to be a reoccurring theme
maybe im just delulu
edit: okay so a lot of y’all came for me😬 some of these responses were a little crazy… i did note that this may just be me being delulu and not the reality at all but a good amount of people seem to agree too, and it’s interesting how we each reach different conclusions
saying i’m dissecting is actually insane…it’s really not that deep, it was simply an observation that happened to be not true
i think the comment i most resonated with was one where they note that jessi mentions that sometimes she reacts to things when she’s editing and not in the moment. plus she recently mentioned lilys mac n cheese which really flipped my opinion of my original example😅 it’s not that deep y’all i just came to a wrong conclusion and was wondering if anyone else felt similarly (<-before i had realized)
love the girlies always at the end of the day 🫶🏻

2024.04.30 10:51 supdaley I need to get used to randomly hearing BINI/’s song everywhere

BINI is everywhere and it feels so surreal. I can’t believe it.
Over the past two days, I’ve heard BINI being discussed or their songs being played.
Yesterday, I’ve heard our HK playing Huwag Muna Tayong Umuwi.
Then I saw a friend having a BINI-themed party.
Then I’ve heard people in the elevator debating why their bias is much better than the others (Maloi vs Jho).
A mall played Pantropiko.
Today, kuya angkas casually blasting Karera on the road.
Guess it’s BINI’s world and we’re just living in it, eh?
I’m so happy for the girlies!!! I just need to acclimate to the fact na they’re stars already and I will never escape hearing them.

2024.04.30 00:22 _Revelator_ Clarkson's Columns: My harvest hymn & An interview with Clarkson and Caleb

My harvest hymn — with added Chinese chemicals
By Jeremy Clarkson (The Sunday Times, April 28)
Many of us will remember that Mungo Jerry song featuring the line, “Have a drink, have a drive. Go out and see what you can find.” And of course we all realise you can’t even think that any more. And nor, really, is it considered acceptable to follow up with: “If her daddy’s rich, take her out for a meal. If her daddy’s poor, just do what you feel.” Times have moved on.
Of course lots of lyrics now feel as if they’re from another aeon. "Clair" by Gilbert O’Sullivan especially. But you might think it’s impossible for the lyrics in a harvest festival hymn to become out of date. “We plough the fields and scatter. The good seed on the land. But it is fed and watered by God’s almighty hand.” Absolute timelessness. It was true ten thousand years ago and it’s true now.
No, it isn’t. God doesn’t water the land any more. The coal-fired Chinese power stations do that. And he doesn’t feed it either. That’s handled by CF Industries, which makes all the chemical fertiliser that farmers use on their fields.
We don’t even scatter seeds any more, because that’s wasteful onanism. We drill them into the ground, at precise intervals and at a precise depth using a computer-controlled, £40,000 seed drill. That’s towed behind a £250,000 Case tractor, which was built in the factory where they used to make Tiger tanks. Not much Goddishness going on in any of that.
There isn’t even any ploughing any more. In the olden days farmers would turn the top layer of soil over using a plough so that the weeds were buried. And because they were deprived of sunlight they died. It was a lovely, natural, rosy-cheeked way of creating the perfect seedbed for the following year’s crop.
But then along came Little Miss Thunberg and her merry band of Packhamites, who decided that 1,500 billion tonnes of carbon is stored in the planet’s soil. And that if you turn this soil over with a plough, all of it will be released into the upper atmosphere in the form of carbon dioxide. Which is bad. So the lovely, natural method of killing weeds had to stop. And instead farmers had to use chemical sorcery from Monsanto, BASF and the Zhejiang Xinan Chemical Industrial Group.
Farmers didn’t mind, if I’m honest, because ploughing is extremely expensive. You simply would not believe how much diesel is needed to drag a two-tonne land anchor through a muddy field. Using weedkiller instead is much cheaper.
Or rather it was. But weedkiller prices have gone up dramatically in recent years. And from where I’m sitting it doesn’t really seem to work any more. Every year Kaleb goes into the fields like a rural Terminator, hosing down the weeds with his ungodly chemical sorcery and then, a few weeks later, Cheerful Charlie walks me through the same fields, pointing out the brome and the black-grass, which is easy to spot because it’s purple and green and completely immune to anything the world’s chemists can throw at it.
So this year Charlie said we should become medieval and plough the fields instead. Selfish? Well, yes, this will shoot a tonne of CO2 into the troposphere and that’s obviously bad. And I’ll use four times more diesel than I would if I used weedkiller. So that’s not good for the environment either. But here’s the kicker: I wouldn’t be pumping any chemicals into the soil.
So that’s the choice — soil or sky? You have to hurt one of them if you want to eat. I went for the sky and rented a plough.
I settled on an eight-furrow monster for two good reasons. Number one: the bigger the plough, the faster you get the job done. And number two: none of Kaleb’s tractors would be powerful enough to pull it, so we’d have to use my 270bhp Lamborghini. Which would annoy him. Even admitting that it’s better than his tractors gives him a hot flush. Sometimes he vibrates with fury when he goes near it.
The only drawback to this cleverly wrought large plough plan was that, because Kaleb refuses to drive my tractor, I’d have to do the ploughing.
This is something I’ve done before. It was on Top Gear about 200 years ago and I did very well. Partly this was because my competitors in the ploughing competition were James May and Richard Hammond. And partly because one of the two judges was a really good friend of my mum.
In real life, though, things were different. I couldn’t hitch the plough to the tractor without help. I couldn’t do a three-point turn when it was attached. And I couldn’t make the tractor move when the furrows were in the sodden soil. All four wheels just sort of spun. So I had to lift the plough slightly, which meant I wasn’t ploughing. Or wiggle the steering wheel, which made big holes and, when it worked, caused me to set off in a new direction. It began to look as if a drunk, blind man with no arms was doing the ploughing.
All the time I was watching the fuel gauge plummet like the depth gauge in a holed submarine, and wondering if it might be cheaper, easier and kinder to the environment to use chemical weedkiller instead.
This is farming. Only last week I discovered that approximately 18 billion slugs have come to live in the fields where I’ve planted spring barley. If I adopt a live-and-let-live rewilding attitude and do nothing they will eat the lot and, next year, there will be no Hawkstone lager. As that makes no sense, I therefore have to pepper the field with slug pellets, which will kill them. Great. But these pellets will also kill all the worms. So what’s the answer? There isn’t one.
Similarly, I have signed up to the government’s eco-friendly grant scheme and will be planting things that aren’t food in three fields. They’re good for the soil and they’re good for my bank balance. But it means I’m not growing stuff people can eat. I know one chap who has taken 60 per cent of his farm out of food production and he’s not alone. So yippee. All that stored carbon and all of that fixed-in nitrogen.
But what if you want some bread? You’ll have to get a loaf made from wheat that was grown abroad. And how’s that good for global warming? And will it have been grown under the same stringent rules that we have here? Or will it have been fertilised with human faeces? You face a choice then. Do you want net zero in the UK? Or do you want to eat a Mexican’s turd?
Do you want lager or worms? Do you want healthy soil or a healthy sky? Do you want bees or orangutans? These are the questions I’m facing every single day. It’s a multiple-choice world of no right answers.
Which brings us back to another harvest festival hymn.
All things bright and beautiful. All birds that must be plucked. No matter what we choose to do, we’re well and truly.

Kaleb Cooper: ‘I’ve taught someone triple my age to do a better job’
The Diddly Squat farmers Jeremy Clarkson and Kaleb Cooper are back for a third series. We put our wellies on to meet the odd couple of the Cotswolds
By Ben Dowell (The Times, April 29)
During filming for the forthcoming third series of Clarkson’s Farm, Kaleb Cooper drove into work and saw Jeremy Clarkson vacuuming a blackberry bush. While the spectacle was “something I am never going to forget”, the sandy-haired, cherub-faced youngster was so unimpressed that he didn’t even get out of his car to ask what was happening.
These two have grown into one of television’s best double acts. For the show’s executive producer, Peter Fincham, there is an “element of Jeeves and Wooster” about them, a delicious odd couple relationship that is all the more gratifying because the team didn’t need to cast Cooper. He was already working on Diddly Squat Farm when the show started.
Cooper is a farmer to the tips of his muddy wellies and has taught Clarkson most of the practical business of farming his 1,000-acre establishment near Chipping Norton in Oxfordshire, as well as how hard the job is and the risks farmers take for little financial reward. Cooper may have just completed a sell-out national stage tour building on his popularity and more than two million Instagram followers. He may have been invited to No 10 to meet Rishi Sunak (more on that later), but everyone on the show — the producers, one of Cooper’s “Chippy” friends I spoke to and Clarkson himself — are clear: the 25-year-old hasn’t changed one iota since the show started airing in 2021.
“I think it’s very easy to be grounded if you don’t leave Chipping Norton,” Clarkson says. His girlfriend, Lisa Hogan, who has become another star of the show, agrees. “How Kaleb comes across is exactly how he is. He is very thoughtful and kind and very bright. His use of language is also very easy on the ear. We could have had a monosyllabic tractor driver and that wouldn’t have worked but we were lucky we had Kaleb.”
He has written two books as well: The World According to Kaleb and Britain According to Kaleb, with a third (Life According to Kaleb) on the way. These ruminations are often spoken into a Dictaphone (supplied by his publishers) during the 18 hours he spends each day alone in his happy place, his tractor cab. The books now sit on the shelves that a ten-year-old Cooper and his carpenter father put up in the local bookshop. Though, of course, one of the running jokes in the show is that he has only read one other book in his life apart from his own, and that was one of Clarkson’s.
There is another moment in the new series when Clarkson and Cooper (who are in competition with each other across the eight episodes) are working a field when they spy someone in the distance on another tractor drilling “his” field. He is Andy Cato of the electronic pop duo Groove Armada, and Cooper seems totally nonplussed, not least because he doesn’t know who or what Groove Armada is. The same probably goes for many of his near-neighbours, who include Joe Wicks, Simon Cowell, Natalie Imbruglia, David Beckham and Amanda Holden. When Cooper bumped into David Cameron (now Lord Cameron of Chipping Norton) in a local eaterie, he wasn’t quite sure who he was either. Strangely Cooper is now as famous as at least a few of these people. His appeal extends across the globe — Andy Wilman, Clarkson’s old Top Gear producer who edits the show, tells me that he rarely hears an English accent in the farm shop as tourists flock to see their agricultural idols.
Since Clarkson’s Farm aired, Cooper told his theatre audiences, he has been offered snazzy haircuts from top-level salons, perhaps to stop the constant mickey-taking from Clarkson. But he still goes to the same local hairdresser.
Brilliant moments are not always captured by the cameras and while the team may wake up with plans, farmers and the show’s fans will know that the weather often has other ideas. “Cheerful” Charlie Ireland, the farm’s land agent and adviser, does pop by a couple of times a day, as he does in the series, often to pour cold water on Clarkson’s latest schemes. But many of these moments are not filmed. Is that annoying?
“Sometimes you think, ‘Oh, that would be really good, that’d be funny on TV,’ but actually [the cameras] are not there,” Cooper says. “But you don’t say these things, to make it up for the TV. I may have taken drama in school, but I got a U in it, so actually I’m not an actor.”
Clarkson agrees: “It is [effortless] because I don’t have to pretend to be someone else. With The Grand Tour, Richard Hammond isn’t as stupid as he’s made out. I’m not as bombastic as is made out and James May isn’t quite as boring as he’s made out. And so you’re playing a caricature, you’re playing a role, you’re there to provoke and be stupid. Here, we haven’t got any of that. So we’re just ourselves. You get up and you just have to be yourself, which is incredibly relaxing. And in that regard it is effortless. Farming is not effortless. Make no mistake, the television side of it is a piece of cake because I don’t have to think, ‘Oh I’d better say something idiotic now.’”
“You do that anyway,” Cooper says.
The two bicker in exactly the same way off camera as they do on. At the press conference for the new series they quarrelled with good humour about their dogs. Cooper says Clarkson’s pair of fox-red labradors (named Sansa and Arya after Game of Thrones characters) are “posh man’s dogs” who “never do a thing he says”. Clarkson maintains that Cooper just locks his dog in his tractor cab. They also bicker about the goats Clarkson keeps. Clarkson likes their eyes and thinks they do a good job mowing his grass. Cooper thinks he should breed and slaughter them in the conventional way and sell goat meat in the farm shop.
There is a similar clash of approaches over the pigs. Cooper doesn’t get as emotional as Clarkson and Hogan when things go wrong (and they do go wrong with the pigs this series). When Clarkson holds aloft a newborn piglet, Cooper calls him a “proud parent”, which feels part mickey-take, part genuinely warm compliment — a common theme in their complex relationship.
Clarkson is learning to be more steely and is, Cooper says, actually now a “good pig farmer”. Is the younger man pleased that Clarkson has come on? Or is there a bit of him who would still enjoy showing him the ropes?
“I think there’s a bit of a proudness of teaching someone maybe triple my age … to go out and do a better job … Hopefully I’ve taught him a lot about it. But he’s taught me so much equally about the television industry.” In fact, Cooper says, he has learnt so much that he cannot watch TV now because he knows how it all works behind the scenes.
He is a voice for farmers, showing us how hard the job of people who put food on our table is, and demanding that we respect it. Cooper has arranged two bursaries of £3,000 plus a work placement for young farmers and is keen that more enter a profession where the average age is 59. When he met Sunak last May he was more interested in the PM’s hair than anything, principally because he didn’t expect much from him.
“Let’s put it this way. If someone invited me tomorrow to go to a farm … if I go to that farm and that farmer says to me, ‘Kaleb, you know what, this week I’m gonna plough that field,’ I know for a damn fact that that farmer is going to go out there and plough that field because he said he’s going do it. If the prime minister or anyone from politics goes to me, ‘Kaleb, I’m going to do this next week,’ they’re not going to do it, are they?”
While he doesn’t have much faith in our legislators making life easier for hard-pressed farmers or for supermarkets to pay them more, he must be pleased that people, especially city folk, now know about farming thanks to him, I say.
“Yeah, everyone knows what a tramline is now, right? And let’s face it, I always say this: it doesn’t matter what phone you’ve got, what car you’ve got, what house you’re living in, what matters the very most is what’s coming across your plate for breakfast, lunch and dinner. And therefore that is the most important thing to me.”
Cooper is open to offers of shows such as I’m a Celebrity … Get Me Out of Here! but thinks he probably won’t have the time with all the work he has to do. Clarkson called him “easily the most entrepreneurial person I have ever met” and he is laser-focused on his ultimate goal of having a farm one day, which will have to be local, despite the “extortionate” price of land in the area.
“I want to farm here,” he says. “I don’t want to move away from my family and everything I know. This is where I was brought up and this is where I’m going to stay.”
But the show will be with us for a while. It is hugely popular — series four is being filmed and while viewing figures aren’t available, it is believed to be Prime’s most popular programme in the UK by, well, a country mile.
Cooper is engaged to his partner, Taya (mother to their three-year-old son and ten-month-old daughter), but doesn’t know when he will have time to walk down the aisle. He knows he will “have a great party”, and isn’t yet sure if Clarkson will be his best man. But one thing’s for sure, Clarkson has already found his.
The new series of Clarkson’s Farm is on Prime Video from May 3.

No Sun column this week, but the Guardian (!) has published a long interview with Clarkson: "'Dismissing global warming? That was a joke': Jeremy Clarkson on fury, farming and why he’s a changed man". Let me know if you have problems viewing it.
Clarkson's columns are regularly collected as books. You can buy them from his boss or your local bookshop.

2024.04.29 06:47 Potato_Potato_394 Is it weird of me to hate the color pink so much?

So for a bit of background before I start rambling, I'm a 17 year old AFAB nonbinary person and I'm fine with any pronouns.
I'm just freaking out about this because I just got an invitation to my friend's birthday and the theme of her party is pink, which means all of us are required to wear it. I'm not super excited because I always feel like crawling out of my skin when I wear pink.
I struggle a lot with this color because when I was born I was one of two girls actually born in my family. Me and the other female (who's already an adult with two kids) grew up with male siblings and cousins. So when I was born it was really special. And up until I was about 11 I was almost always decked out in pink. When I was much younger I didn't mind it and actually enjoyed wearing pink, but as I got older and more aware of myself I started feeling huge discomfort when I wore pink. At one point I even cried. I didn't understand why I felt like this, as I didn't have the right vocabulary. I was also born into a family where queerness is unacceptable so it was really difficult for me to come to terms with it in the first place.
I adore my friend and I most definitely won't force her to change the entire theme of her party just because I refuse to wear one color. But also, the thought of wearing pink still makes me feel the same way it did when I was 11. I struggle a lot with this because I know that pink is just a color and anyone can enjoy it, but in my family's culture pink is strongly associated with being a girl and I don't think I've gotten to the point where I've fully disconnected myself from that.
I also don't hate being feminine or anything- I present very femme (but also cause I'm not in a safe enough place where I can experiment with my presentation) and love participating in activities that many would consider "girly." But for me, I draw the line at pink. I like the color on its own, just not on me.
I feel bad for complaining so much about this because it's just a color (my mom has already told me to stop making such a big deal out of this) but it also causes me so much distress. I probably will end up wearing something pink to fit the theme and to not ruin my friend's special day, but I'm also worried about feeling like I want to tear out my skin.
Am I over exaggerating? My mom thinks I am, but since I am not able to safely come out, she doesn't understand the actual reason behind disliking this color so much.

2024.04.29 01:18 OptimalDouble2407 Reading Just For The Summer. I GET THE ABBY JIMENEZ HYPE NOW.

Currently about halfway through Just For The Summer.
Let me preface: I’m not usually a romance girly. I love a good romantasy but I like it when there’s yearning, pining, aching, when it’s hard and toxic and the end of the world is at stake.
Every day level romances usually aren’t my jam. However, seeing that Abby’s last book won BOTY and JFTS starts with an AITA post, I wanted to try it.
And honestly I feel like a school girl giggling and swinging her feet as I read. I really love the pacing so far. I usually read to escape real world stuff but I just really love these characters and the way they speak to each other.
There’s a theme about choosing empathy over anger and some other good bits in there that just makes it really meaningful. These characters are really well done. And I’m rooting for them.
With the state of the world, maybe I do need to read more books like this. :-)
The only reason I wanted to put the book down so far is to make this post. I feel like Abby Jimenez Stans are loyal and love her work and I’m just here to say: I. Get. It.

2024.04.27 08:43 Strict-Brick-5274 Not a fan of when brides wear their hair up on their wedding day

I have literally heard a bride claim about how she was perceived as not being sexy on her wedding day and she had the most "meh" updo that day.
If yeah wanna look like a sexy gorgeous bride get a VS blowout, or hair down.
Hair up literally no matter how intricate (special exemption is fantasy theme wedding), looks boring as and it's a pain to do and take out.
Hair can Literally make it break an outfit and some of the girlies literally choose a ponytail for their wedding. Like you probably wear your hair up everyday for just life. Look it's entirely your choice how you wanna do your hair but an updo will never be a standout / knockout bride in my opinion.

2024.04.26 16:17 WeareDepression Recieved gingham vibrant today:

Recieved gingham vibrant today:
Costed me 500/- for the mist,
. So basically this mist has notes of blackberries, violets and vanilla
. I can dominantly smell a "fresh" scent as well in the initial 10 minutes
. After that it has a dry down that leads to a blackberry-florally scent
. & I took a 5 hour nap with this so when I wokeup the vanilla was lingering on me with a little floral
. It is true to its properties!
. All in all a very "vibrant" mist that I'd use for daily errands as it has a great staying power too & smells girly & fruity!
. Would not buy again tho because I'm not all that much into “fresh" or "floral" scents I'm a gourmand or fruity girlie Also, this mist is great for summer as it's very lively!

2024.04.26 04:26 regynalovee my favorite WTF moments

I just watched the funniest tiktok about PLL and now I wanna rewatch it hahah. Where are the girlies that watched this show back in like 2011 and ateeee that shit up?? My best friend and I used to binge episodes on the weekends in like middle school and we’d be really be scared as hell watching it in the middle of the night 🤣🤣 Sooo i’m curious, what part (or parts) of the show do you look back on and just can’t believe it was written into a television script???
For me it has to be the cursed night. Alison traveled around the world and BACK in that yellow shirt, man. Like she got her mf steps in AND some. That had to have been the busiest 24 hours of her whole life, for real.
Also anything Ezra, Wren, or Ian related. Actually, all of the 22-24 year old men that dated the 14-16 year old girls. Like how was that SUCH a recurring theme? And the dirty, pervy cops?? Good riddance.
And finally, the goddamn twins, incest, and sibling/cousin drama. Like I cannot. Basically everyone on the show is related, and everyone just hooks up with whoever they’re the least related to. Gotta love it 🤣
So anywho, time to rewatch 😭😂 Seriously though, watching this show as an adult is wild. What are your favorite WTF moments??

Help me find a candle for the Spring season! Fruity/berry 🍓🫐🍒 candles that aren’t cloying or sickening? Is there such thing? (please no bakery scents)
Maybe fruity candles just smell weird in general 🤷🏼‍♀️ or at least the berry ones. I like to have a certain “theme” that go with an overall aesthetic but I’m open to floral or fresh scents as well. Looking for pink, girly, springtime vibes
