Clip on bars
Should I do clip on bars on my Nightster? God they look so good.
Also does the Nightster count as a Sportster? Haha

2024.05.14 20:40 Ambitious_Weekend924 Harley rider looking to switch

So i’ve never been on an Indian, only cruisers I’ve been on are Harley’s. First bike was an ‘03 Sportster 1200, current bike is an ‘05 dyna low rider. Indians have been catching my eye as of late, especially the Sport Chief and the Chief Bobber. Love the looks, and on paper the performance out of both bikes seem extremely promising. If y’all had some arguments for me to make the switch to Indian from Harley what would they be?

Are there any mag wheels out there that I can put on my 2009 1200 nightster? I like the newer 2017 and up sportster mag wheels but I'm not sure if anything is interchangeable

2024.05.06 20:39 Narcys1 New female rider, help choosing between three bikes

Hello I will be getting my first bike and could use some opinions I’m 5’3 female, around 150-140 lbs
I will be getting my licenses in two week so can’t really test drive it from dealership, did my class this weekend (or Google said I can’t test ride bikes if getting from dealership)
I wanted to get the Harley sportster 883 but once I sat on it I had hard time getting it straight. I’m afraid of the 600 pounds of beast
Next was thinking about Harley Nightster. Plan on checking it out this week. Read it’s lighter then the 883
Last but not least is the Honda Rebel 500.
Which one do you think would be better? I want to buy to bike now and practice on it till my test but feel weird buying something and not being able to test drive it. Again Google said I need motorcycle licenses to test drive the bikes from dealership Would you recommend to wait? I know I want used one so I won’t cry too much if I drop it and under 10,000k Could use any advice, pro and cons Thank you

2024.05.04 00:24 txglasgow Is the Rebel 1100 DCT unbeatable? Currently considering that or a HD Nightster or Sportster S.

I've got a Rebel 500 ABS and want to upgrade to something that's just a touch larger. My legs are getting somewhat cramped on trips that last more than an hour and I'm also interested in not being blown around by wind.
So the Sportster S may just be my idea bike. I know it's crazy, but I love it. Especially the tech that it comes with. However, the Rebel 1100 is also a strong contender and has a ton of value. DCT and cruise control come to mind. It's just that the Rebel checks the boxes and is a lot less expensive!
Is there an obvious winner or should it really be made off of personal taste here?
Thanks!

How uncomfortable is it to ride without suspension?
I follow this page on IG of a Japanese workshop that I’m in love with. They keep their build super simple which I think goes with the original bobber style.
I have a sportster 883, 2019 and I’m wondering if anyone has tried removing the suspension to get this kind of look. Is it uncomfortable?
CONTEXT: I have a car, so honestly I use my bike more for short rides and my priority is that the bike looks cool haha

2024.05.02 06:58 No-Zookeepergame8365 New bike day

New bike day
Picked this up for 13k NEW out the door. 2024 Harley Nightster
I'm not a Harley fanboy at all, but man they knocked it out the park with this bike. This thing is awesome. This new revmax engine is a step in the right direction. Brembo brakes all the way around. An actual modern bike from Harley! Most of the Harley community HATES this bike and the Sportster S because of the new motor. I think it's the best thing Harleys done since the V Rod. These things sound amazing with exhaust.

Lowbrow EFI Frisco tank on 07+?
Has anyone put this on their 48 or other mid glide sportsters?
I’m running a nightster tank rn with a 1 inch lift and wire tuck and removed the horn and relocated the ignition and Speedo but I’m curious how this frisco tank with the almost no tunnel will look on my 2012 sporty and I’m worried it’s gonna expose that wire tuck and look like shit.

2024.05.01 01:31 JewcyBugEye My biggest regret

My biggest regret
Back when I was 19 I wanted a Harley so bad. In highschool I was a gear head, always working on my car, took automotive class, Etc. So when I was ready for a bike, I didn’t want the typical cruiser. I was obsessed with bobbers. I wanted it to be loud and sexy.
I found that bike.
2008 nightster. I fell in love with it. I rode it rain or shine. I was always on that thing. Cleaning it, shining the few chrome parts. I would give myself any excuse to ride, as one should.
Then I started to have issues.
Growing up I had always wrenched on cars, but the inner workings of Harley scared me at the time. It would randomly die on the road and wouldn’t start no matter what, leaving me to get towed on 3 occasions. I even tore the whole thing apart, to understand what was in it. I just was too naive and alone to know what I was doing, and Harley mechanics were far too expensive I later learned.
As a kid who thought I was making “big money” right out of highschool I soon realized that making payments on a bike while also paying for my rent, phone, gas, food etc. didn’t really leave me a lot of funds for repairs.
I sold the bike a few years ago now, and now that I’ve gone through a skilled trade that opens me up to a ton of troubleshooting knowledge I’ve come to regret selling it. So much.
This is a shot in the dark but if you see this bike somewhere, I’d love to know. It would be cool to see it in caring hands. Better yet I’d buy it back.
Moral of the story, just wanted to share, Don’t sell when things get tough. Just on the off chance a 19 yr old kid is finding himself between a rock and a hard place.

2024.04.30 05:59 Torana_Power Bike for my wife

Hey all
My wife is looking to upgrade to a HD
She is 5'6, 140 LB - 63 KG
Currently rides a 250 Virago
Im on a Yamaha Stryker 1300 and will be crossing over soon too, this bike scares her though, very wide and heavy at 650 LB 295 KG, but looks to be the going rate for a HD
Shes not interested in the street range or the new nightstesportster s range, wants the traditional HD sound
My first thought was a Sportster 883 either the Low, superlow or the Iron, but I keep reading these bikes are top heavy, is the superlow really top heavy ????
I have a hard time understanding that would be harder to ride than my Stryker or a HD that weights similar like a softail
Appreciate any advice

2024.04.27 06:33 Fugly_Turnip Am I an idiot?

Am I an idiot?
So my rear turn blinker relay took a shit on me and I ordered in the Eaglelight module as well as a pair of the bullet beams. I’m in contact with Eaglelight to figure out how to wire them to this module but my main question is, is the Eaglelight module a replacement for the stock rear module or do I need to get a replacement as well? From what the customer service rep is saying these bullet beams won’t flash orange but only red? Is that accurate?

2024.04.21 00:21 I10-2TALK 2004 Sportster Vs 2008 Nightser

New to the Harley world and looking for a good bike for work and back primarily. Going to look at an 04 Sportster with 3k miles and a 08 Nightster with 50k miles tomorrow. Both priced $4500. Mileage on both give me concern. Whats your thoughts?

This is the new and improved spin off. She doesn't redline until 9k. Low center of gravity. Gas tank is under the seat. The "Tank" is an air box cover. Liquid cooled. REVO MAX V TWIN. 90BHP. LIVING THE DREAM.

2024.04.15 22:13 Matthew252598 Question

I might build a drag racing sportster but I wanna make it a bobber with 48 tires and just wonder if a 1275 and turbo would work together and maybe some nitrous or is that too dangerous

2024.04.13 20:18 TechnocyteVirus Fox Factory RC1 vs Ohlins S36PRCL opinions

Hey All, currently in the process of taking my sportster from a bobber to a cafe racer, and I think it might be time to upgrade from the Progressive 412 12.5 inch rear suspension I have on the back currently.
I've heard good things regarding both these options, but with them both being within 100$ of each other, I would love some opinions. For reference, my bike will be riding with rear sets on and (attempting to) corner at speed.

Nightster 1200
Just sold my 2006 Harley sportster 1200c and picked myself up a 2010 nightster 1200. Came with a stage 1 upgrade. Going to be doing some modifications like headlight and lights upgrade. Maybe a seat in the future.
Give me any suggestions.

2024.04.10 13:48 RidgeRider_13 Information

Anyone know what size nut fits on the engine studs for the exhaust on a 2011 1200 sportster-nightster, I tried a 5/16 18 but it only went on a half turn and stopped like it was cross threaded so just left it off so I didn’t mess up the threads.

Does anyone have any experience with the full body kit from here? https://sportster-garage.com/products/full-kit-by-sportster-garage®-english-1
I’m not very technical, but I’ve been saving up to give my nightster a special facelift and am considering ordering this and taking it all to a local bike shop for installation.
Thanks for any opinions on the matter!

2024.04.08 20:35 willowwalker122 UK A2 bobber question

Hello,
I’m going to sit my A2 lessons soon, and I can not wait. I’ve previously road MX (250f and 250 2 smoker) on tracks. But I’ve always wanted a road bike. This would be my first road bike. I really like the look of the triumph bobber, Harley sportster and Indian scout. But something about the bobber and seat just makes my eyes glow. My question is has anyone stuck an A2 restrictor on these bikes and how much does it affect the bike. I know you can get a restrictor for the triumph. A friend of mine has a restrictor on a MT07 but he said it’s not noticeable until you hit 60mph. Hopefully this is true as I would like this bike as a town cruiser and backroad rider which normally sit between 30-50mph anyway. Hopefully someone has been in a similar situation and can tell me how the restrictor affects the bike.

2024.04.06 17:49 Ok-Comfort-2188 Looking for opinions on next bike

Looking to get into a more sporty cruiser from my dad's old soft tail that was handed down, was looking at a scout bobber or rogue and a harley sportster s, however I seen for the 25 line up scout released the 101 curious if I should wait to see how that plays out (under power and more in price than the harley,) just curious what other people have seen first hand and experiences,
