Hello redditors of antiMLM,
Just this week, I received an email from a relation advertising FOREVER—not to be confused with Forever Living. Searching through this sub, I found a few short references over the last years with little detail. In one, a commentor described FOREVER stating "as mlms go, it seems ethical." Every red light went off while I looked into these “FOREVER Ambassadors.” I then began a search, with much of the ultimate work done by my spouse. It took longer than seemed acceptable to identify this MLM for people who glanced over the internet. FOREVER is not listed on any of the MLM databases I could find from this sub or elsewhere. Based on the mandatory “FOREVER Ambassador Community” on Facebook, now 8 years old, at least 2,500 people have gotten into their clutches at some point (I haven’t linked because I think it might be against the sub rules).
Thus, for the benefit and enjoyment of the people, here are references for the community to identify a yet-another-multi-level-marketing scheme. I am a sarcastic person, so be forewarned. All sources were publicly available and required no logins or access.

STUDY OF FOREVER
(1) Background of the FOREVER business model
FOREVER is an online service that advertises it can be a “permanent digital home that lasts for many generations.”[1] This is to be accomplished via a so-called “FOREVER Guarantee Fund” that invests to pay for digital storage for over 100 years.[1] Their website promises me that “permanent” is “not a buzzword”—I think that’s the Platonian ideal of a buzzword.[1] Regardless, this is not a quality review post.
(2) The FOREVER Ambassador program
The sellers used by FOREVER are called “FOREVER Ambassadors.”[2] As advertised, it looks like a classic MLM pitch. You can “earn up to 35%” commission” while having “the freedom to work from home, and the flexibility to make money on your own schedule.”[2] FOREVER lists various opportunities, such as “trainings” and the ability to “learn and grow with friends,” as well as “make life-long friends.”[2] As part of the “Meet our Team” webpage for corporate FOREVER, there are multiple “Executive Ambassadors” listed.[3] There is no barrier to entry on experience required to become an Ambassador.[4] I observed that, throughout the internet and on the FOREVER website, the vast majority of Ambassadors are women—as you know, many MLMs target women and moms.
(3) Costs of serving as an Ambassador
FOREVER has, at minimum, an “Annual Ambassador Fee” that is the primary cost to entry of the program.[2] For $179 a year, one would receive “back office tools,” various marketing materials, and “countless opportunities”—maybe money, but more on that soon.[2] There is a link to an Ambassador’s own selling website.[5, at 22] This Ambassador fee “is subject to change over time.”[5, at 25] There is also a FOREVER Merchandise store where Ambassadors can get their supplies.[6] These include a 40-pack set of catalogs for $44.99 and a $144.99 tablecloth for potential customers during in-person events.[6]
For Ambassadors, FOREVER advertises there are “free training events.”[5, at 25] Each year, for $399 in 2024, Ambassadors can attend the 3-day “FOREVER Live” event.[7] It is in the destination getaway of… next to their headquarters in Pittsburgh, PA (I’m sorry Pittsburgh, you’re a beautiful city).[5, at 24] It is also possible to pay for a “p2P Virtual Party” and “p2P Live Events,” but is unclear what those mean.[5, at 5] Various “ranks” of Ambassadors receive a “monthly stipend” starting at $25 a month after $15,000 total in personal plus team sales a year.[5, at 9]
(4) Compensation advertised for Ambassadors
(4a) Income in cash from personal sales
FOREVER pays its Ambassadors based on a “cash sales” versus “full sales” system.[5, at 5] The too-long-didn’t-read summary is that some products are paid less commission than others because of “margin” of different products.[5, at 5–6] Critically, the Personal Commission Rate is where our story kicks into gear. At the bottom, an Ambassador who sells less than $2,000 a year in sales receives the windfall of a 15% commission.[5, at 7] The number rises to 34% once sales are $90,000 or greater in one year (I don’t know where the 35% from earlier went).[5, at 7] However, to earn the 20% commission or more once one passes the $2,000 sales amount requires completion of the “FOREVER Ambassador Business (FAB) Training.”[5, at 7] I read it, more on that later.
You might ask, “Is there a sales quota for FOREVER® Ambassadors?” FOREVER says “no.”[8] However, the less one does the less FOREVER pays Ambassadors for what they do (this chart is older than the Compensation Guide cited).[8]
(4b) The downline system used by FOREVER
Of course, while it took forever to reach here, we come to the “downline” process—FOREVER’s words, not mine.[5, at 9] FOREVER immediately identified that new Ambassadors “choose another Ambassador to mentor you as you grow your business” (I do not know if this means an upline).[2] Nevertheless, “Team Sales” are compensated by FOREVER down to the 5th Line.[5, at 9] If an Ambassador does not build a team, then they do not earn Team Commissionable Cash Sales Commissions.[5, at 9] FOREVER states that getting new Ambassadors “to sign up under your name” is how you help “further your business.”[9]
However, even if an Ambassador builds a team, they receive a very restricted downline compensation if they do not make a minimum of personal sales.[5, at 9] For future reference, an “Associate Ambassador,” the bottom, makes less than $2,000 and earns no downline sales.[5, at 9] An “Ambassador,” second to last, is the first rank with a downline commission (4% for 1st Line), requiring $2,000/personal a year.[5, at 9] To reach “Senior Ambassador,” third to last, and above, a FOREVER Ambassador must start earning exponentially greater amounts of personal plus team sales to rise in the “ranks.”[5, at 9] A Senior Ambassador requires $8,000/personal but $15,000/gross, and is the first to get 2nd Line commission (4% for 1st Line and 2% for 2nd Line).[5, at 9] It is unclear to me if “new members” must be recruited “each month” to rankup—the website says so, but I see it nowhere in the Compensation Guide.[8]
At the top of hierarchy, there become two “Executive Ambassadors.”[5, at 9–10] These ranks start at $28,000/personal and $250,000/gross a year.[5, at 9] As well, one must have at least three “Team Leaders” in their 1st Line.[5, at 10] Team Leaders refers to Ambassadors who have themselves reached the rank of “Associate Lead Ambassador” ($12,000/personal and $30,000/gross).[5, at 9] FOREVER advertises that the Executive ranks are for—and I am not making this up—those Ambassadors who are “grooming FOREVER Leaders on your team below you.”[5, at 10] Irony is dead folks.
(4c) Non-monetary-achievement compensation
Because being paid to work is overrated, FOREVER will also provide “Additional Benefits” to its various ranks. As an Associate Ambassador, you can join the aforementioned Facebook Group and hear the CEO talk on a monthly phone call.[5, at 11] Regular Ambassadors also get a certificate to put on their wall.[5, at 11] Senior Ambassadors get a standing ovation at FOREVER Live!—you can even be ovated on stage as an Associate Lead Ambassador (I would pay $179 a year to not).[5, at 13–14] My observation is that a lot of ranks mostly provide additional types of standing ovations at FOREVER Live! and reserved seats for dinners there.
But then you can reach the pinnacle of Everest (that much like the real one, other people just carry you up there): the Million Dollar Club.[5, at 20] For making $1 million in personal and team sales in a year, one will earn a single $10,000 dollar bonus.[5, at 20] If you are then a “top-performing Ambassador,” one can be taken on the “Achievement Gathering,” to Jamaica in 2024, to mill around with other top-performing Ambassadors—and the corporate staff.[5, at 24] There is no mention how many people earn it or how much must be earned.[5, at 24]
(5) FOREVER Ambassador Business Training
I mentioned earlier that Ambassadors must complete a “FAB” training to receive more than 15% in commissions.[5, at 7] To hit this post home, I wanted to identify some highlights. The FAB training has 5 Steps to reach regular Ambassador status.[10, at 4] These Steps include such activities as “Meet with your Upline” (Step 1), “Connect with your Upline” (Step 2), “Meet with your Upline” (Step 3), “Meet with your Upline” (Step 4), and “Meet with your Upline” (Step 5).[10, at 7, 10, 12, 14, 16] You also have to join the FOREVER Facebook group and any created by your Team (just “ask your Upline” to find it).[10, at 6–7] There’s a task in Step 2 to create an introductory “Share List,” with five lines each for “Friends,” “Teachers,” and your own “Parents/Grandparents.”[10, at 7–9] For an unclear number of hours, you must attend multiple weekly and monthly “training opportunities” and “calls.”[10, at 6–7, 10] And one last item, to rank up in FOREVER, you must register for an upcoming event.[10, at 12] As of writing, the only one listed on the linked webpage is the $399 FOREVER Live! conference.[11]
(6) Conclusion down to brass tax on FOREVER
I was unable to find an Income Disclosure Statement for FOREVER. However, basic math tells us that an Associate Ambassador, the bottom, can only earn up to $300 a year.[5, at 11] To reach regular Ambassador, which includes signing up and beginning all the time sinks listed above, the maximum personal commission is $1,200, in addition to whatever downline (however big those are on average).[5, at 11] Without a downline, even the top-bracket personal sellers are the only ones to earn more than $30,000 a year.[5, at 7] The Federal Reserve Bank of St. Louis estimates that the Real Median Personal Income in the United States for 2022 was $40,480.[12]
There is one way to make it with FOREVER: to build a downline. It’s a multi-level-marketing scheme, and no one should join it. Unless of course, you want to join my downline—I promise you'll be rich just like me.

A few formatting errors and a minor phrasing correction.

I'm writing this in a fog; I've been crying almost non-stop all day. Still, I had to tag this "humor", just because of how utterly ridiculous it is from start to finish.
I work at an urban Title 1 middle school, and there are some positives but in all honesty the bad outweighs the good. I've been on the recieving end of physical aggression on many occasions, and I deal daily with the usual disrespect, eloping, work avoidance, theft, fights, and admin indifference. But, some of the kids are awesome and I really like most of my coworkers. So I grin and bear it, even though I'm exhausted and depressed a great deal of the time.
Last fall, I happened to run into a former student's mom, who worked as an admin assistant at one of the highest performing high schools in our city (and the state). She mentioned there was going to be a job opening up for next year, and asked if I was interested. This school is known to be one of the most coveted for teachers in our area, and it's hard to get into because there's barely any turnover. So of course I said yes, and started dreaming of how great it'd be to work at a place with a happy staff and respectful hard-working kids.
But right from the start, there were issues. I applied in January-- but HR literally lost my application. Wasn't in the system anywhere. The principal said she couldn't interview me if I wasn't in the system, so naturally I tried to contact HR. I called the # on the website, but an answering machine directed me to send an email instead. So I sent an email, but it bounced back with instructions to open a Zendesk ticket. Tried that, no response. Etc etc etc.
Now it's February, and I guess the principal got tired of the hold-ups so she passed me off onto the dept. head to sort it out. Now I'm trying to coordinate with this guy, but he's flaky as all hell. For every email I send him, it's at least 2 weeks and a follow up email before he responds. Eventually he brings me in for an informal interview, with my application still missing-- in mid-March. During the interview I'm told for the 1st time that it's only a part-time position, with the possibility of leading to full-time if all goes well. Me and my bank account aren't thrilled about this, so I go to my current employer and propose dropping to part-time next year in order to free me up to work part-time at the other school. Surprisingly, they agree to it-- even they recognize what an amazing opportunity this is, and how it benefits them to have a member of that school's staff working for them.
Interview goes well. Dept Head says he'll make sure my missing application is found and processed ASAP, which seems like a good sign they want to hire me-- but, unsurprisingly, that doesn't happen. It's crickets from everyone. I'm now resorting to having the mom track people down for me to get answers, but even she's getting nowhere. Then about 3 weeks after my interview, I get a rushed email from Dept Head saying he still can't find my application but offering me the job anyway. I readily accept, and he says to expect HR to contact me within a couple of days to begin onboarding. Bet you can guess how that went...crickets, again.
In the middle of all this, my current employer is preparing next year's contracts. I try to hold them off, but they need to know my plans. They've offered to work around my new schedule, but nobody, including myself, knows what my new schedule even IS.
April passes, and then the 1st week of May, all the while I'm desperately trying to get answers from ANYONE about my onboarding, to no avail. I have no proof of a job other than one informal email from Dept Head that he never followed up on, and not a peep from HR. My current job can't wait any longer and they take the part-time offer off the table. They tell me I have to sign a full-time contract or nothing at all, and with nothing from the new job, I feel I have no other choice but to do it.
2 days after I sign my new contract, 5 months after I initially applied, and 2 months after I interviewed, both Dept Head and HR reach out. Miraculously, they've found my missing application, and they're ready to onboard me. I have to respond and tell them I'm no longer available. That the delays left me with no choice but to stay where I was, and it's just not feasible to quit a full-time job to work part-time. They apologize, kind of, and encourage me to try again in 2025. IF there's an opening.
So, I just signed up for another year of abuse. Another year of kids who can barely function and indifferent parents and admin. Another year in a crumbling building. Another year of exhaustion. I feel like an escape hatch opened up and right as I was about to step in, it closed. And the worst part is, absolutely none of it was my fault.
I'm worried I'm going to spend the next year resenting the hell out of every single person I see, feeling constantly upset that I have to be HERE instead of THERE where I belong. I'm also experiencing a burning rage toward HR and the Dept Head (who, to twist the knife a bit more, just announced that he's LEAVING at the end of the year! ) for creating this mess.

Why do we keep score this way? There were 3 potential options for scorekeeping:

2. Cumulative Total -- flawed because it unfairly favors those who are able to play every and is a severe disadvantage to those who miss even a single day.
3. Score of top 15 -- the method currently in use, it allows for some leeway for those not able to play daily, but at the same time, it's beneficial to those who are able to play more than 15 times. After 15 plays, each new score will bump out the previous lowest score.

The Daily Challenge resets at midnight UTC, which coincides with the time that this post will go live each day. So essentially, make sure that you're commenting your score with its corresponding post.

I want to keep this short and sweet, with as many facts as possible since I tend to ramble, and give unnecessary details for the sake of transparency. If there are any questions I will of course answer them, or give clarification where needed.
Here’s what’s relevant:

• I worked at Ulta from August 2022 - April 2024
  
• I started as a PBA while I went through Cos school and transitioned into the Salon on my 1 year Ultaversary
  
• Never had I ever met our LP team, let alone director. Nor had I ever gotten a write up, a suspension, etc. (I did have a verbal coaching for attendance)
  

-My salon training consisted of 4 hours of watching videos that explained the stylist leveling system, how commission worked, how Ulta Academy worked, and how red lines/dots worked in the salon in terms of monthly take overs.
-My Salon Manager (EM I think the title is) worked the complete opposite of my schedule, so everything I needed came down to texting her, often outside of my working hours (as per her response time).

• I was not aware that you couldn’t give discounts to people you weren’t directly married to, the domestic partner of, or the parent of (I’m engaged, not married and I wasn’t corrected on this until mid-January 2024 where I promptly addressed some concerns with management and made changes)
  
• I always made sure that a manager checked out a ticket for anyone I was close personal friends or family with to avoid this exact incident happening.
  
• I only used the 10% off discount (I’m not arguing that this is theft of services, or that I did it). This discount appears 6 times all under my fiance’s name. 3/6 were first time visits. His mom and his sister booked under his name initially because they don’t have loyalty accounts and they thought using their names in the salon was signing up for one. I made management aware of this, and they said it should be fine. The other 3 discounts were “illegal” for lack of a better term.
  

On April 1st I was terminated, 2 hours into a 5 hour shift. I was allowed to finish two makeup clients (I was the only established Mua at the time). I even stopped to speak with managers about green dots when I clocked in, and then went on my way uninterrupted.
I guess I’m frustrated because all of this came to light after an internal investigation was started for theft of product off the floor discovered by another associate, and made its way into the salon. Since then I have gotten a hold of HR once due to never receiving my exit interview, and I have been contacted by a former coworker who has been told I’m blaming her for my being fired.
What should I do from here? Does any of this sound shady, or am I naively grasping at straws? (I guess this isn’t so short, but I tried to keep emotion out of it)

My parents have been entirely unhelpful so I feel like I need strangers to weigh in on this for me.
A stray cat had kittens at my house. We were able to contain momma and babies in an enclosure and I've been spending time with them daily to get the kittens friendly so that they can find pet homes, after which momma will be spayed. It was agreed that I would be allowed to keep one kitten, if my current cat decides she'll allow it. And here lies the issue!
There are two kittens that already have homes to go to. There are two that don't. The two that don't are named Soona and Anaya, and they're both girls. Soona is the kitten I have planned to keep since very early on. They're now about 6 weeks old or so, maybe closer to 7, and their personalities are coming out. The problem is Soona doesn't like to be held -- she squirms and wriggles to get away, and she's the only one in the litter who does this. Anaya is perfectly content to be held. Soona bites harder and is generally rougher. Anaya is obviously still rough since she's a kitten, but less so. Soona's first reaction to a finger is to bite (playfully) whereas Anaya's is to rub her face on it. Sometimes Anaya even grabs my finger and pulls it to her face so she can rub on it. Soona has never rubbed on me. Alternatively, Soona falls asleep in my lap or arms in my bedroom if she gets tired, and Anaya does not. So its confusing because any other time, Soona doesn't want to be held and Anaya is more cuddly? Its not making this any easier!
Soona is turning out to possibly not have the personality I was looking for -- I'd prefer a kitten that is affectionate and will cuddle, because my current cat is very "go eff yourself" in personality. My mother says if Soona's personality turns out to be like my current cat, she will make me rehome her later. I know that there's no guarantee and their personalities can change as they get older, but I'd like the best chance possible. I'm starting to feel that Anaya might be the best chance but I'm not sure.
I'm also worried that Soona's personality being so feisty might cause issues with my current cat, who is also feisty. I'm concerned that their personalities might clash into aggression. Then again if Anaya is too gentle, my current cat might bully her. I'm not sure which would be the better option with my current cat. Unfortunately I can't test them both with her because I don't have time for proper introductions before I have to decide. I've been given a deadline to choose. June 1st they're old enough to go, and my mother wants them gone that day, end of discussion. So I have very little time left to decide which kitten to keep, and try to find a home for the other in time. I'm worried that it would be difficult to find a home for Soona because people want cuddly, sweet kittens and that isn't her personality. Also, Anaya is being considered by multiple people who are thinking about adopting her and I don't know if any of them would want Soona instead if I decide to keep Anaya.
I feel guilty because I've spent this whole time bonding with Soona, and now I'm second guessing if she would be the right one to keep. I know they're cats, they don't understand the concept of "he was going to keep me and he didn't, I've been betrayed!" but I still feel so torn up over even considering keeping Anaya instead. I don't know if I could let Soona go at this point after bonding with her for a couple months. But part of me knows that if I met the two of them without prior bonding, I would probably choose Anaya. This is just so hard.
I know their personalities can change as they get older, and that there's no way to know for sure what they'll be like. But my current cat, who doesn't appreciate physical contact, behaved alot like Soona around this age give or take a couple weeks. It makes me nervous about what Soona will be like when she's an adult.
I understand that there's only so much you guys can do through hearing all of this second hand, but I'd love some advice, reassurance, anything. I'm overwhelmed and stressed and don't have long to make this decision. I wish I could hold onto both of them for longer so that I could decide over more time, but that isn't going to be allowed.

Comment Karma is directly correlated to how many comments you leave plus/minus any points as people upvote a popular comment or downvote an unpopular comment.

AKA, Why Do We Have Account Requirements for Individuals?
In an effort to make your crowdfunding efforts more successful here on Reddit, some background first:
In many of the gifting and fundraising subs, you'll notice that without a certain amount "karma" and an account that's old enough, you'll garner down votes or worse, your posts and comments get automatically removed.
Why?
To many Redditors, this place is a community built on activity. The "coin" of the land here is your account, and how much you've contributed to the Reddit community at large reflected in post and comment karma.
As a general rule, Redditors dislike the creation of accounts specifically to fund raise or to make requests. It makes it seem like these people simply treat Reddit as some sort of magical internet wallet, and that doesn't win many friends.
The other reason why new accounts are so disliked is that they're often alternate accounts of established users, in order to hide their activity from people they know. While we do sympathize with those of you who have valid reasons, this privilege is often abused by those who create disposable accounts to scam people for a quick buck.
This trust issue doesn't exist in the same way with certified non-profit groups, as you can look them up online for verification, and at least in the case of 501c(3)s, their spending is transparent due to their required tax filings which are public information.
So if you're new to Reddit, welcome! Spend some time and look around for something that catches your interest and chat it up with others and become part of the community!
However if you're here for the sole reason of making requests in a hurry, please be aware your pleas for help will likely be ignored.
REMEMBER, CREDIBILITY AND COMMUNITY IS EVERYTHING!
For this reason, the mods will not post anything on behalf of any user that does not meet account requirements.

3. Only 1 campaign per user. We want you have some personal connection to the campaign, and not submit multiples simply because they were in the news.
4. Reposts are allowed once a week. If a repost comes up too early, the newest one(s) will be removed.
5. Acceptable transfer methods for individuals are for crowdfunding sites only, such as GoFundme, YouCaring, etc. Individuals should avoid using Paypal, crypto, or direct banking aps (like Chase). 501c(3) and NGOs may use whatever method they wish.
6. Don't PM people to make requests. If you receive an unsolicited private message, please let us know!
7. Do not post politically-related campaigns. They're just too divisive.
8. Trolling will not be tolerated and offending users will be banned.
9. Don't bug the mods for an exception to the account requirements. None will be given. If you attempt to circumvent the requirement by karma farming or by commenting on someone else's post, your account will be banned.
10. No posting for other Redditors. No Alts. This is viewed as a circumvention of requirements and both accounts will be banned.
11. Selling is only allowed by 1st parties directly. We do not allow selling by 3rd parties to benefit another organization, as there's no transparency to verify that the announced percentage of sales actually goes to the beneficiary. Only direct sales by the non-profit organization are allowed.

Supporting Information Requested for Non-501c(3) and Non-NGO campaigns.

We aren't the government. We aren't a court of law. We definitely don't want you to give out information that could lead to identity theft. However, some campaigns are more successful when they have additional documentation.
This includes:

• Pet related requests: Photos of your pet in question, with your username on a handwritten note in the picture. This helps show you actually own the pet in question.
• Education related requests: Documentation showing enrollment or acceptance if you are asking for assistance for school.
• Redacted bills showing your situation. In some cases, a donor may prefer to pay a creditor directly on your behalf, so be prepared and find out if that is available to you.
• If you are sharing a campaign for a registered certified non-profit organization (such as a 501c3 or NGO), you should say so in the post, and it should list that status on the campaign page/web site.
• Or other relevant documentation that can help establish credibility.

How to Include a Photo or Other Supporting Info Document In Your Post

Because Reddit wasn't initially designed to handle photos when it was created, it has limitations in the implementation of photo support which don't work well for us. So instead we suggest the following:

1. Upload your photo to Imgur.com or other photo hosting site.
2. Copy the URL for the photo.
3. Create a new post or Edit your existing one to include the URL to the photo.

Please make sure to include this, as it is the primary reason why posts that are otherwise fine get removed.

Advice On Making Your Campaign Go Further

Not all crowdfunding campaigns are the same, but here are some suggestions.

• Make sure your campaign has been shared among your Facebook friends! You might think it's embarrassing, however your friends and family are more likely to care than internet strangers.
• Show that you've exhausted all the other possibilities. A lot of potential donors don't like to give money when it seems like the requester's first and only solution is to simply throw someone else's money at the problem. Nobody is going to take your word when you literally only say, "but I've done everything!", when the actual reality is probably closer to "I've done everything I can think of", which arguably is NOT everything.
• Show that there's a plan to use the money wisely. Often people have campaigns for their business ideas, but it doesn't really seem like they thought it all the way through. Tell people what steps you've taken so far, and what you're going to do next.
• Be open to critics. If there's something that people ask about, you should not be dismissive. Provide more detail. There's a possibility that they know something you don't, or they have something different about their own experience that might be useful to you. If you simply brush off your critics, it shows objectively that you're not doing everything possible.
• Review your own campaign with the mindset of a potential donor. Ask yourself, "Would I give money to this?" Or get a friend to review it for you.

But like many of my countrymen, i only participated in holidays and rituals just because it is a part of the national identity. I never believed in anything. The best way to know each other, at least from my pov, is to meet eachother online through a video call. So do not be dismayed if you don't fit everythig in the bill from the get go. That is the interesting part of growing in a relationship, again from my pov.

Would you be willing to do long distance/relocate? I have no issues with long-distance relationships as long as we remain loyal to eachother. Relocating however, is not possible for the time being. that is not to say that i won't relocate, as i am thinking of abandoning the city life and move to a quiet and peaceful village. Wherever the Lord may wish.

I want to begin by saying that I recognize that I am extremely lucky to have the opportunity and freedom to make this decision. Definitely don't want to come off as boastful and am genuinely looking for advice.
I applied to Western's National Scholarship program and ended up receiving the 70k President's Entrance Scholarship (1 of 1) as well as Scholar's Electives. I also received an offer to Mac Health Sci last week. I know a huge part of this decision comes down to my future goals which so far have been getting into medical school and pursuing medicine.
I know that Mac Health Sci is notoriously a "feeder" program with its high matriculate rate into med, but I was wondering if the program itself still outweighs the opportunities that Western is providing. I've included my thoughts about each program below:
Mac Health Sci

• "Easier" program with lots of elective space (yay) that better sets you up to obtain a high GPA
• More time to devote to ECs, research, hobbies, and general work-life balance
• Smaller class sizes along with more faculty support
• I've heard the environment is less toxic and people are generally more supportive in Health Sci despite the premed culture
• Inquiry and PBL with emphasis on group work
  • The learning style is definitely new to me and I'm a little concerned if I'll truly enjoy it since I've heard from a mix of people who love it, learn to love it, or absolutely despise it
  • I'm very comfortable with the traditional learning style since it's what I'm used to (lectures and exams) but am willing to adapt to this new learning style, especially if it means that I get to grow as a person through group work and the program's focus on assignments over exams (although, I will say my stance on group work is pretty neutral and my experiences in high school do not help that lol)
  • The ability to guide my own learning through inquiry sounds really cool
• Given the program's heritage, many resources available and support from upper years on med applications
• Writing reflections and courses where the final is an interview with a facilitator seem like good practice for med interviews and becoming a better writer

Western Med Sci

• 70k is a LOT, but I will say that financially, I am in a position where the money is nice but I am by no means drowning myself in debt if I reject it
• A high GPA is achievable, but will require much more work and dedication, possibly taking away time that could be spent on ECs and other things
• Is a weeder program that forces you to take certain courses that are known to tank GPAs such as Stats and Applied Math, and I think this also cultivates an environment where people see each other as competition and are much less willing to help each other out
• I am genuinely interested in the hard sciences and modules offered, but they seem to be more geared towards preparing you for grad school or alternative professions
• Better preparation for the MCAT (the depth that some courses go is probably overkill)
• The opportunity to start doing research with a prof in 2nd year through the Scholar's Electives program (will be overloading by 0.5 credits in 1st and 4th year though, and I'm not yet sure if research is something I enjoy)
• First-choice residence in 1st year (this is a small thing) and guaranteed on-campus housing in upper years

I've visited both campuses and liked the feel at both so that isn't too much of a factor for me. The opportunities in London vs. Hamilton also seem pretty comparable. Health Sci sounds amazing and the only thing that really concerns me is the untraditional learning style and if I am one of the few it doesn't click for. I do not want the next 4 years of my life to always be nose to the grindstone and the balance seems significantly better at Mac than Western, but I also recognize that Mac is not a guaranteed ticket to med school and it truly depends on the person, not the program.
If anyone could provide their two cents, I would greatly appreciate it :)

There seem to be a large number of people who believe that the purpose of the Bill of Rights was to grant and guarantee rights to the American people. Furthermore, I have heard many people claim that the Bill of Rights is entirely a list of specifically individual rights of American citizens. It puzzles me why these beliefs continue to persist, because the historical record indicates that there is no reason to believe these descriptions of the Bill of Rights. There is a more than adequate amount of historical evidence to corroborate my conclusion. The first and most direct evidence is the very preamble to the Bill of Rights itself. The original preamble of the Bill of Rights begins with a paragraph explaining the document’s purpose; it goes as follows:

The Conventions of a number of the States, having at the time of their adopting the Constitution, expressed a desire, in order to prevent misconstruction or abuse of its powers, that further declaratory and restrictive clauses should be added: And as extending the ground of public confidence in the Government, will best ensure the beneficent ends of its institution.

I think the three most important phrases in this paragraph are “in order to prevent misconstruction or abuse of its powers”, “declaratory and restrictive clauses”, and “extending the ground of public confidence in the Government”. These three phrases seem to best sum up what the Bill of Rights was originally meant to accomplish: it is a list of declaratory and restrictive clauses whose purpose is to prevent the misconstruction or abuse of the Constitution’s powers, and to increase public confidence in the federal government. And if one were to look at the Bill of Rights, its text would seem to be in harmony with this statement of purpose. The Bill of Rights consists mostly of negative clauses which put restrictions on the federal government; it states what shall not happen or what shall not be done by Congress, such as prohibiting freedom of religion, abridging freedom of speech, infringing the right to keep and bear arms, violating the right to be secure in property, etc. And the ninth and tenth amendments do not mention any particular rights whatsoever, and clearly just serve the purpose of preventing the Constitution from being misconstrued or abused to diminish the rights of the states and the people, and to prevent granting the federal government more power than the Constitution meant for it to have. The phrase “extending the ground of public confidence in the Government” further indicates that the Bill of Rights was not really meant to add rights not already stipulated in the Constitution, but was only meant to reinforce trust in the federal government at the time of the Founding. The Bill of Rights was not meant to add any substantive articles to the Constitution, but rather it consisted of articles whose purpose was to reinforce the articles that had already been established, and prevent them from being misinterpreted in the future by any unscrupulous members of the federal government. Also notice that there is nothing written here in the preamble about granting rights to the American people, let alone granting specifically individual rights to the American people: you would think if the framers of the Bill of Rights had meant for this to be the document’s effect, they would have stated so clearly in the preamble.
Another piece of evidence for my conclusion comes in an address given by James Madison -- the author of the Bill of Rights -- in the House of Representatives on June 8, 1789. This address involved an early proposal of amendments to the Constitution. Before listing his various propositions for amending the Constitution, Madison said this:

There have been objections of various kinds made against the Constitution. Some were levelled against its structure because the President was without a council; because the Senate, which is a legislative body, had judicial powers in trials on impeachments; and because the powers of that body were compounded in other respects, in a manner that did not correspond with a particular theory; because it grants more power than is supposed to be necessary for every good purpose, and controls the ordinary powers of the State Governments. I know some respectable characters who opposed this Government on these grounds; but I believe that the great mass of the people who opposed it, disliked it because it did not contain effectual provisions against encroachments on particular rights, and those safeguards which they have been long accustomed to have interposed between them and the magistrate who exercises the sovereign power; nor ought we to consider them safe, while a great number of our fellow-citizens think these securities necessary.

The part I've put in italics indicates that the major purpose of the amendments to the Constitution was to reassure citizens that effective protections were put in place to prevent the “magistrate who exercises the sovereign power” from encroaching upon their rights. Notice there is nothing written here about granting rights to the people, only protecting the people's pre-existing rights from the federal government.
Following the above statement, Madison begins to list a variety of proposed additions to the Constitution, and he proposes the additions be inserted into the body of the Constitution itself, at various sections. Ultimately, he begins to propose a certain list of amendments to be inserted within article 1, section 9; and this particular list happens to correspond to most of the articles which comprise the Bill of Rights as it exists today:

Fourthly. That in article 1st, section 9, between clauses 3 and 4, be inserted these clauses, to wit: The civil rights of none shall be abridged on account of religious belief or worship, nor shall any national religion be established, nor shall the full and equal rights of conscience be in any manner, or on any pretext, infringed.
The people shall not be deprived or abridged of their right to speak, to write, or to publish their sentiments; and the freedom of the press, as one of the great bulwarks of liberty, shall be inviolable.
The people shall not be restrained from peaceably assembling and consulting for their common good; nor from applying to the Legislature by petitions, or remonstrances, for redress of their grievances.
The right of the people to keep and bear arms shall not be infringed; a well armed and well regulated militia being the best security of a free country: but no person religiously scrupulous of bearing arms shall be compelled to render military service in person.
No soldier shall in time of peace be quartered in any house without the consent of the owner; nor at any time, but in a manner warranted by law.
No person shall be subject, except in cases of impeachment, to more than one punishment or one trial for the same offence; nor shall be compelled to be a witness against himself; nor be deprived of life, liberty, or property, without due process of law; nor be obliged to relinquish his property, where it may be necessary for public use, without a just compensation.
Excessive bail shall not be required, nor excessive fines imposed, nor cruel and unusual punishments inflicted.
The rights of the people to be secured in their persons; their houses, their papers, and their other property, from all unreasonable searches and seizures, shall not be violated by warrants issued without probable cause, supported by oath or affirmation, or not particularly describing the places to be searched, or the persons or things to be seized.
In all criminal prosecutions, the accused shall enjoy the right to a speedy and public trial, to be informed of the cause and nature of the accusation, to be confronted with his accusers, and the witnesses against him; to have a compulsory process for obtaining witnesses in his favor; and to have the assistance of counsel for his defence.
The exceptions here or elsewhere in the Constitution, made in favor of particular rights, shall not be so construed as to diminish the just importance of other rights retained by the people, or as to enlarge the powers delegated by the Constitution; but either as actual limitations of such powers, or as inserted merely for greater caution.

It is notable to consider that Madison initially proposed the Bill of Rights to be integrated into the Constitution itself, rather than to be a separate document. But what is even more notable is the specific location it was proposed to be inserted in. Article 1, section 9 is specifically the location of the Constitution dedicated to enumerating the prohibitions upon the power of Congress. What this means is that the original plan for the amendments currently appearing in the Bill of Rights was for them to merely be a list of stipulations regarding what Congress was not allowed to do. Thus, it would make no sense for those same clauses today to be construed as being themselves grants of rights to individual American citizens, anymore than other articles within this same section -- such as Congress being prohibited from abolishing the slave trade before 1808, or laying taxes on state exports -- could themselves be considered grants of individual rights to American citizens.
Another piece of evidence can be found in the 1833 Supreme Court case Barron v Baltimore. This case essentially makes explicit that which was originally understood about the Bill of Rights -- that it was meant only as a list of prohibitions upon Congress. The following excerpt makes this clear:

Had the framers of these amendments intended them to be limitations on the powers of the State governments, they would have imitated the framers of the original Constitution, and have expressed that intention. Had Congress engaged in the extraordinary occupation of improving the Constitutions of the several States by affording the people additional protection from the exercise of power by their own governments in matters which concerned themselves alone, they would have declared this purpose in plain and intelligible language.
But it is universally understood, it is a part of the history of the day, that the great revolution which established the Constitution of the United States was not effected without immense opposition. Serious fears were extensively entertained that those powers which the patriot statesmen who then watched over the interests of our country deemed essential to union, and to the attainment of those invaluable objects for which union was sought, might be exercised in a manner dangerous to liberty. In almost every convention by which the Constitution was adopted, amendments to guard against the abuse of power were recommended. These amendments demanded security against the apprehended encroachments of the General Government -- not against those of the local governments. In compliance with a sentiment thus generally expressed, to quiet fears thus extensively entertained, amendments were proposed by the required majority in Congress and adopted by the States. These amendments contain no expression indicating an intention to apply them to the State governments. This court cannot so apply them.

And then the aforementioned case was subsequently referenced by the 1875 Supreme Court case US v Cruikshank, which further reinforced the same conclusion while addressing the first and second amendments of the Bill of Rights:

The first amendment to the Constitution prohibits Congress from abridging "the right of the people to assemble and to petition the government for a redress of grievances." This, like the other amendments proposed and adopted at the same time, was not intended to limit the powers of the State governments in respect to their own citizens, but to operate upon the National Government alone. [. . .] It is now too late to question the correctness of this construction. As was said by the late Chief Justice, in Twitchell v. The Commonwealth (#325), 7 Wall. 325, "the scope and application of these amendments are no longer subjects of discussion here." They left the authority of the States just where they found it, and added nothing to the already existing powers of the United States.
The particular amendment now under consideration assumes the existence of the right of the people to assemble for lawful purposes, and protects it against encroachment by Congress. The right was not created by the amendment; neither was its continuance guaranteed, except as against congressional interference. For their protection in its enjoyment, therefore, the people must look to the States. The power for that purpose was originally placed there, and it has never been surrendered to the United States.
The second and tenth counts are equally defective. The right there specified is that of "bearing arms for a lawful purpose." This is not a right granted by the Constitution. Neither is it in any manner dependent upon that instrument for its existence. The second amendment declares that it shall not be infringed, but this, as has been seen, means no more than that it shall not be infringed by Congress. This is one of the amendments that has no other effect than to restrict the powers of the national government, leaving the people to look for their protection against any violation by their fellow citizens of the rights it recognizes, to what is called, in The City of New York v. Miln (#139), 11 Pet. 139, the "powers which relate to merely municipal legislation, or what was, perhaps, more properly called internal police," "not surrendered or restrained" by the Constitution of the United States.

So as you can see, it was well-established from the time of the country’s founding that the Bill of Rights was never meant to itself be a grant or guarantee of rights to the American people. The official function of the Bill of Rights was always prohibitive rather than affirmative: the purpose was to restrain the federal government, rather than to endow something to American citizens. So what I don’t understand is: how has the Bill of Rights become so misunderstood and misapplied? Why is it that, from the layman even to the level of the modern-day Supreme Court, it is believed that the Bill of Rights is meant to grant or guarantee rights to individual American citizens, when this conclusion is unequivocally unsupported by the historical record? And not only is this conclusion not supported by the historical evidence, but I would argue that it contradicts the very purpose of the Bill of Rights; the whole point of the document was to limit the power of Congress, but interpreting the document to be a federal guarantee of rights to the people is, in effect, a transference of power to the federal government never stipulated in the Constitution, and is in violation of the tenth amendment.
The Bill of Rights, according to its original design, is essentially superfluous; effectively declaring nothing in itself, and only serving to clarify the intent of the Constitution, prevent it from being adversely misinterpreted, and to make explicit what was implicitly acknowledged regarding the boundaries of congressional power. There had been much debate among the Founders regarding whether the Bill of Rights should even exist at all. So how is it that a document whose original purpose was to be nothing more than a protection of civil rights has now become interpreted effectively as the source of the people's civil rights?

Hi, I wasn't able to find this guide so here you go. Disclaimer 1: Yup, "nothing new" for game experts here, it's a guide for newbies or those who doesn't remember all the details. Disclaimer 2: Please, read carefully. If it says "don't touch any mobs, just run" it literally means it. Disclaimer 3: This guide is made for Gracia Final with rates x1, but probably is applicable for Epilogue and H5 too.
Our goal here is to complete these ~10 quests as fast as possible, so every detail can be crucial. This guide is made for EO (Elven Oracle), coz it's the easiest and the fastest quest for 1st profession. But it will more or less work for all the races except Dark Elves (DE can make even more money with it's chain of quests, but not that fast).
So, let's start:

1. You've created an Elven Mystic and is standing under the beautiful tree. DON'T touch any gremlins or NPC here, just click on SOE to Kamael Village. Talk to Newbie Guide and now you are lvl 2, congratulations!
   
2. Run to the southern (there is "N" on your minimap in top right corner of the screen, works like a compass) exit. Talk to Marcela and take a quest Supply Check. Visit a couple of NPC in village and now you are lvl 5 with wooden set in your bag. Wear helmet, boots and gloves, ignore BP and gaiters.
   
3. Run to Newbie Guide and become lvl 6. Take buffs and a shadow staff with a coupon. Place spiritshots on shortcuts bar and equip a staff.
   
4. Run to Marcela again and take a quest Head of the Hill. Find a Gatekeeper Ragara on a city square and teleport to Stronghold I. Run to the south, find Green Goblin or Werewolf. Kill them until you receive 1 (one) claw. After you get it use SOE to Kamael Village, go to Marcela to report the quest. In dialogue choose "exchange for Adena" - "Say no".
   
5. Run to Newbie Guide (yeah, again). Talk to him and become lvl 10. Choose "Teleport to another village" - "Elven Village" (Note! If you made another a character of another race on this step you need to go to your home village and complete analogue quest for your race).
   
6. Talk to Sentinel Kendell next to the Gatekeeper. Take a quest Skirmish with the orcs. You receive "Kendell's N order" here N will mean the orc you need to kill. Now go google "kaboo orc map" and find a map with all the numbers. According to that map run to find quest monster you are told to kill. Kill it and use Adventurer's SOE. Speak to Kendell again and that lazy ass sends you to kill another one quest orc, so find the new number on the map run/tp to it and kill. Return to Kendell, report the quest and become lvl 11.
   
7. By the Gatekeeper near go to Talking Island Village. On the central square talk to Newbie Guide - now you are lvl 15. Talk to Elias near to take a quest Cure for fever disease. Go to Gatekeeper and teleport to Talking Island, Northern territory. Kill Giant Spiders till you get Poison Sac. Use SOE, go to church, talk to Priest Yohanes about the quest. Go back to Elias, report the quest.
   

Important! If you had to kill to much spiders or didn't listen to instructions and killed more mobs and now you are lvl 16 - sorry, but you need to die. Nothing personal, but you need to be lvl 15 to go on.

1. Talk to Newbie Guide and become lvl 18. Ask for support magic again. Go to Gatekeeper - tp to Gludin - tp to Gludio. Go to church.
   
2. Talk to Priest Manuel. Learn some skills (at least Weapon Mastery, Armour Mastery, Battle Heal, Wind strike. Talk to him again, take a quest Path of the Elven Oracle. (Again, if you aren't Elven Mystic do the quest you need to get the 1st profession).
   
3. Talk to Gatekeeper - tp to Gludin. Run to Gludin Harbour. You can open in-game map, click "Tracking", choose the quest and it will show you the exact position of needed NPC. Talk to Allana, kill 3 mobs that appear after it. Talk to her again.
   
4. Run to the lighthouse on the hill behind the harbour (map - tracking). Talk to Perrin. Kill the ogre, talk to Perrin again. Return to Allana

9. Gatekeeper - tp to Orc village. In the left wing of the King's Hall Talk to seer Livina, take a quest Walk of Fate.
   
10. Gatekeeper - Schuttgart. Go to Orc Guild, talk to seer Moira, take a quest Ominous News.
    
11. Gatekeeper - Crypts of Disgrace. Report both quests to Karuda. Now you are lvl 21 (if you aren't - kill a couple of monsters there around to become 21). SOE to Kamael Village. Gatekeeper - Elven Village.
    
12. Talk to Sentinel Starden on the western exit, take a quest Legacy of the Poet.
    
13. Talk to Trader Creamees in Grocery Store, take a quest Blood Fiend.
    
14. Gatekeeper - Elven Fortress (not forest). Run into the fortress and in first two rooms kill orcs until you get four poems.
    
15. Now you will need to run bravely and unstoppably through the whole fortress (use healing potions if needed) to the last room to find there quest monster Kinurak and kill it (google the quest to find the way if you are not sure where exactly to run). There are guards near to it but if you stand on the max range from it you should be able to kill it before guards reach you about your expired warranty. After killing Kinurak you can fight guards or die and stand to to village. If you are a great warrior and have won - use SoE. Report those 2 quest ti NPCs you got them from.
    

Now you have +/- 277k Adena. You can sell all the things from your bag to get another ~30k (don't sell EAD, enchant scroll, you'll probably need it later).

Curious what people think about how the game starts for both characters
Considering the leaks of Yasuke starting on a slave ship that is attacked and left for dead, and then found and brought to a temple. We can probably guess most of how the start plays out for him, either being brought straight to Oda Nobunaga, or the someone who brought him to the temple is a Jesuit and he then becomes their bodyguard like how the factual story of Yasuke start in Japan goes, he does something to get the notice of Oda or just gets noticed due to being a giant, or maybe Jesuit he is bodyguarding already has a meeting with Oda, I think any of these ends with Yasuke being given or choosing to go into Oda's service, maybe after proving capable or something, I then think a timeskip happens, because the game starts in 1579, but the Oda Nobunaga didn't invade and conquer Iga until 1581, which is what is being depicted in the trailer, which leads me to Naoe
The Ubisoft site says this, "At Assassin’s Creed Shadows’ start, Naoe is a 17-year-old from Iga, and the daughter of one of the era’s most iconic shinobi, Fujibayashi Nagato, who – despite a promise to keep her safe – is forced to train her to be his equal in battle".
In 1579 Oda Nobunaga's son led an invasion on Iga that was unsuccessful, this could be the start of Naoe's story in the game, her father promises to keep her safe could be about this invasion, or something to do with being a shinobi leader I'm not sure, after fighting off the invaders, this battle could be the catalyst for being forced to train her to be his equal in battle, him wanting her to keep her safe and the best way to do that is to teach her the ways of the shinobi, this is where I think would happen for Naoe.
The timeskip for both characters being 2 years puts them in the year where Oda Nobunaga successfully invaded Iga, taking the trailer literally, this could be the 1st time the characters meet during this battle, the leaks of Naoe story say her father is killed by the order which forces her to join the assassins, I think his death happens in this battle. This is what it says on Ubisoft's website
"Assassin’s Creed Shadows’ dual protagonists are ultimately brought together by Nobunaga, whose goal of unifying Japan takes his army – and Yasuke – to the province of Iga for the Second Tenshō Iga War. The Igan resistance, though greatly overpowered by Nobunaga’s army, is courageously led by Naoe’s father. The two protagonists find each other through Nobunaga, although, for obvious reasons, they don’t exactly get off to a great start."
This is as far as I got right now, have no idea how Yasuke and Naoe become allies. I assume we'll get the timeskip early in the game because I doubt we'll be playing as a 17 year old Naoe, even more so when relationships seem to be a thing seeing how it says this on the site regarding Naoe's and Yasuke's disparate personalities
"Romantically, they will also attract and be attracted to different types of people. Through the pair, players will get to experience a multitude of relationships."
Doubt Ubisoft want people talking about romantic relationships with a 17 year old character, not sure if 19 is much better but still. Anyway let me know anything you think could happen, where I could be wrong, how you want it to start, anything. I need to hear people talk about this game that isn't solely based on Yasuke...

So I’m 30 currently married (for now), I am told I am a good looking chap and spend most days at the GYM, I have a fairly decent well paid job and generally have a good all together life.
Except when it comes to men, I am on my 3rd long term relationship, these are as follows.
1st, 5 years and was basically cheating from day one, but I was young and stupid. We fell out a lot, I thought this was normal back then clearly it was not.
2nd, 7 years, this guy was much more reserved, absolutely by my side and worked as a team. He was a man of few words but very intelligent. Towards the end he lost interest and started talking to other guys and randomly just going out and seeing them. It turns out he was also cheating. Which was a shame because other than this he was a decent guy and family were lovely.
3rd 3 years, Current awaiting the year mark to file for divorce, most stupid mistake I have ever made in my entire life. This guy took everything from me without as much as a thank you. I paid of all his debt and dealt with any issue that arose, he’s terrible with daily life stuff, paying bills dealing with work stress etc. he tells me he had a shitty upbringing and based any terrible behaviour on that. Despite this I continue to help him, because I think underneith he is and wants to be a good person. Things like good for a while, he proposes, I say yes. Then right before the wedding he starts talking to random guys in an explicit way, these guys are always way out of his league buff gym types. I struggled with this as it was right before the wedding. Clearly like a moron I married him. 8 months after we married he starts talking to guys again. So divorce it is.
So as my last 3 partners have cheated, I am in the mind that all gays are cheaters, I mean apparently except myself. Is this a common experience, do genuinely nice guys who just want to a monogamous relationship exist?
I do understand people grow apart, but why you wouldn’t just tell your partner this and cheat instead is beyond me.

I am in my early 30s, single, and went through my 1st egg freezing cycle with NYU Langone. My employer offers fertility coverage and I am with UHC. Because the number of eggs retrieved in my 1st cycle is not ideal (only ~75% chance of having one healthy baby), I wanted to do another cycle. However, my pre-authorization was rejected by UHC right before my scheduled treatment due to Banking Exclusion. I am so confused and frustrated because:

1. I don't see the "banking exclusion" clause in my employer's group health care plan. My plan only says something like 25K annual max and that's it. The rejection came as a total surprise.
   
2. The person from UHC told me to ask NYU Langone to submit an urgent appeal on my behalf, but after a week of back and forth, NYU Langone told me they talked to UHC and cannot do it - I have to submit the appeal myself, and they cannot provide any guideline.
   
3. I called my insurance assigned fertility Nurse (Optum). Again, did not provide any guideline. She told me the "banking exclusion" is something administrative (non-medical) and is set by my employer and I should talk to my employer's benefit service, speak with people who determined benefit coverage, and ask them to lift this restriction, which seems impossible in a huge corporation.

I applied as a server at the local Longhorn Steakhouse, and received the assessment personality test. My results were Mentor. It has been a week and there has been no contact from the restaurant calling to setup a 1st interview or to decline my application. Any ideas on how to secure a job with them? Who to contact? Do I walk in or call and ask for the manager? Do do nothing and wait longer? It said on the site after I got my results it could take 1 day - 7 for an interview call. What is the protocol here? I need to work asap and don't want to go work somewhere else if I can get this job. They are the most popular establishment where I am.

Hi, I wasn't able to find this guide so here you go. Disclaimer 1: Yup, "nothing new" for game experts here, it's a guide for newbies or those who doesn't remember all the details. Disclaimer 2: Please, read carefully. If it says "don't touch any mobs, just run" it literally means it. Disclaimer 3: This guide is made for Gracia Final with rates x1, but probably is applicable for Epilogue and H5 too.
Our goal here is to complete these ~10 quests as fast as possible, so every detail can be crucial. This guide is made for EO (Elven Oracle), coz it's the easiest and the fastest quest for 1st profession. But it will more or less work for all the races except Dark Elves (DE can make even more money with it's chain of quests, but not that fast).
So, let's start:

1. You've created an Elven Mystic and is standing under the beautiful tree. DON'T touch any gremlins or NPC here, just click on SOE to Kamael Village. Talk to Newbie Guide and now you are lvl 2, congratulations!
   
2. Run to the southern (there is "N" on your minimap in top right corner of the screen, works like a compass) exit. Talk to Marcela and take a quest Supply Check. Visit a couple of NPC in village and now you are lvl 5 with wooden set in your bag. Wear helmet, boots and gloves, ignore BP and gaiters.
   
3. Run to Newbie Guide and become lvl 6. Take buffs and a shadow staff with a coupon. Place spiritshots on shortcuts bar and equip a staff.
   
4. Run to Marcela again and take a quest Head of the Hill. Find a Gatekeeper Ragara on a city square and teleport to Stronghold I. Run to the south, find Green Goblin or Werewolf. Kill them until you receive 1 (one) claw. After you get it use SOE to Kamael Village, go to Marcela to report the quest. In dialogue choose "exchange for Adena" - "Say no".
   
5. Run to Newbie Guide (yeah, again). Talk to him and become lvl 10. Choose "Teleport to another village" - "Elven Village" (Note! If you made another a character of another race on this step you need to go to your home village and complete analogue quest for your race).
   
6. Talk to Sentinel Kendell next to the Gatekeeper. Take a quest Skirmish with the orcs. You receive "Kendell's N order" here N will mean the orc you need to kill. Now go google "kaboo orc map" and find a map with all the numbers. According to that map run to find quest monster you are told to kill. Kill it and use Adventurer's SOE. Speak to Kendell again and that lazy ass sends you to kill another one quest orc, so find the new number on the map run/tp to it and kill. Return to Kendell, report the quest and become lvl 11.
   
7. By the Gatekeeper near go to Talking Island Village. On the central square talk to Newbie Guide - now you are lvl 15. Talk to Elias near to take a quest Cure for fever disease. Go to Gatekeeper and teleport to Talking Island, Northern territory. Kill Giant Spiders till you get Poison Sac. Use SOE, go to church, talk to Priest Yohanes about the quest. Go back to Elias, report the quest.
   

Important! If you had to kill to much spiders or didn't listen to instructions and killed more mobs and now you are lvl 16 - sorry, but you need to die. Nothing personal, but you need to be lvl 15 to go on.

1. Talk to Newbie Guide and become lvl 18. Ask for support magic again. Go to Gatekeeper - tp to Gludin - tp to Gludio. Go to church.
   
2. Talk to Priest Manuel. Learn some skills (at least Weapon Mastery, Armour Mastery, Battle Heal, Wind strike. Talk to him again, take a quest Path of the Elven Oracle. (Again, if you aren't Elven Mystic do the quest you need to get the 1st profession).

I want to begin by saying that I recognize that I am extremely lucky to have the opportunity and freedom to make this decision. Definitely don't want to come off as boastful and am genuinely looking for advice.
I applied to Western's National Scholarship program and ended up receiving the 70k President's Entrance Scholarship (1 of 1) as well as Scholar's Electives. I also received an offer to Mac Health Sci last week. I know a huge part of this decision comes down to my future goals which so far have been getting into medical school and pursuing medicine.
I know that Mac Health Sci is notoriously a "feeder" program with its high matriculate rate into med, but I was wondering if the program itself still outweighs the opportunities that Western is providing. I've included my thoughts about each program below:
Mac Health Sci

• "Easier" program with lots of elective space (yay) that better sets you up to obtain a high GPA
• More time to devote to ECs, research, hobbies, and general work-life balance
• Smaller class sizes along with more faculty support
• I've heard the environment is less toxic and people are generally more supportive in Health Sci despite the premed culture
• Inquiry and PBL with emphasis on group work
  • The learning style is definitely new to me and I'm a little concerned if I'll truly enjoy it since I've heard from a mix of people who love it, learn to love it, or absolutely despise it
  • I'm very comfortable with the traditional learning style since it's what I'm used to (lectures and exams) but am willing to adapt to this new learning style, especially if it means that I get to grow as a person through group work and the program's focus on assignments over exams (although, I will say my stance on group work is pretty neutral and my experiences in high school do not help that lol)
  • The ability to guide my own learning through inquiry sounds really cool
• Given the program's heritage, many resources available and support from upper years on med applications
• Writing reflections and courses where the final is an interview with a facilitator seem like good practice for med interviews and becoming a better writer

Western Med Sci

• 70k is a LOT, but I will say that financially, I am in a position where the money is nice but I am by no means drowning myself in debt if I reject it
• A high GPA is achievable, but will require much more work and dedication, possibly taking away time that could be spent on ECs and other things
• Is a weeder program that forces you to take certain courses that are known to tank GPAs such as Stats and Applied Math, and I think this also cultivates an environment where people see each other as competition and are much less willing to help each other out
• I am genuinely interested in the hard sciences and modules offered, but they seem to be more geared towards preparing you for grad school or alternative professions
• Better preparation for the MCAT (the depth that some courses go is probably overkill)
• The opportunity to start doing research with a prof in 2nd year through the Scholar's Electives program (will be overloading by 0.5 credits in 1st and 4th year though, and I'm not yet sure if research is something I enjoy)
• First-choice residence in 1st year (this is a small thing) and guaranteed on-campus housing in upper years

I've visited both campuses and liked the feel at both so that isn't too much of a factor for me. The opportunities in London vs. Hamilton also seem pretty comparable. Health Sci sounds amazing and the only thing that really concerns me is the untraditional learning style and if I am one of the few it doesn't click for. I do not want the next 4 years of my life to always be nose to the grindstone and the balance seems significantly better at Mac than Western, but I also recognize that Mac is not a guaranteed ticket to med school and it truly depends on the person, not the program.
If anyone could provide their two cents, I would greatly appreciate it :)

no matter what people say, they always have a type. it could be blondes or brunettes. it could be quiets or louds. in everyone, there are flaws. flaws are relative to the person seeing them. human minds are attracted to those they find with attractive features or traits. if you stare at your favorite model long enough, you’ll find a feature you don’t like. you’ll find an attribute that you hadn’t noticed before.
when i think of that, i shy away from people’s gazes. especially the ones i like the most. because if they look at me too long, they’ll find something they don’t like. whether it be the way i always look tired, or my eyes look plain, they’ll find something. if they find something in me they don’t like, they’ll leave me.
i find this the same with personality. if there is a person you don’t know very well, but you are very well physically attracted to them, keep it that way. i find that if you explore a person you don’t know, you find unattractive traits that drive you away from them. i’d rather be kept in the dark and like them innocently, than know every bad thing about them and still be physically attracted to them. i think its harder that way, to love them and find out they’re not who you romanticized them to be.
i notice some people look past that, and prefer to focus on their good qualities. i find myself doing that often. take into measure how far you are willing to go for this person that you find unpleasant but handsome/beautiful. because when they disappoint you, it will hurt. it will hurt when you find out they can’t be the savior you needed from the loneliness.
that’s why i cut my relationships short with people, romantically and platonically. you’ll never know how far someone is willing to go to see past your flaws. it hurts worse when you attach yourself to them and find you don’t meet their standards, or that perfect view of you in their mind. maybe i just have issues with trusting people, or forming deeper connections for the fear of abandonment, but take what i say into consideration. wherever i happen to post this or whoever happens to read this, know this comes from the mouth of someone who knows too much.

Hello everyone, I've been wanting to make this post for a while and now here we are ! This is a long post but ENJOY !!!
Another Eden is now 7 years old which means many stories, characters and an entire world...or rather time periods/timelines that currently exists. So here's the question, what's your Another Eden Hall of Fame ? Both Meta and Non Meta related.
Note: Remember that what I'm about to write is based SOLELY ON MY OPINION but I'm interested to see what my fellow Residents of Time's Forgotten Keep think ! Without further ado, let's start:

1. Best Story Protagonist (Excluding Aldo): Nona
   Another Eden is composed of many stories and they are NOT always centered around Aldo which is the game's protagonist, few examples of that being Deirdre in the Knights Episodes/Nona in Apocrypha and Wryz from the recent Wryz Saga. My pick is Nona because she has BY FAR the best character development and to me she took the spotlight in the entire Apocrypha. In fact I'd argue that if Another Eden had the "Choose your Protagonist" Aldo would be the Male Protagonist and Nona would be the Female one because she's litterally the Protogonist of Apocrypha and it can be regarded as a "Game within a game" so yea that says alot.
   
2. Best Side Story: Western Mythos (Song of Sword and Wings of Lost Paradise)
   The Western Mythos is the best story in my opinion (And actually alot of players do agree with me on that). The Zerberiya continent, the world, the cast of characters and the story is phenomenal from it's 1st chapter to the finale. I know that people will tell me Future Mythos is also great but it doesn't have THAT impact on me as much as the Western Mythos did.
   

Which is why (Rant Warning!) WFS ! WHERE'S MY WESTERN EXPANSTION !!! WHY DID YOU FORGOT THAT ZERBERIYA EXISTS ?? WE NEED MORE OF PEAK !! That is hurting me alot !! The only story which is a close second is Apocrypha but Western Mythos is the far better one and I'm thankful for Another Eden for creating that. I do hope that the Highly Rumored Eastern Mythos would be just as good because speaking of...

1. Best Main Story: Main Story Part 2 (Tales of the East)
   There are currently four Main Stories: Main Story Part 1;Main Story Part 1.5 (Ogre Wars) ;Main Story Part 2 (Tales of the East) and the currently Main Story Part 3 (Into the Hollow).
   In my mind while having played all of those stories, I still find myself being drawn and attached to the Eastern Continent ! Because I truly love the setting ! WFS clearly nailed it and even so when you consider the amount of "Eastern" Personality characters that are in the game which is the highest in the game at 30 characters (Not counting AS/ES). Heck I'm currently replaying the Main Story Part 2 because I enjoyed it even better than the current Part 3 which from a pure gameplay sure it's better but in terms of Story/Characters and OST then to me nothing beats the Garulea Continent (Present/Past/Future and Underworld) !
   

Alot of people in the sub love Eastern characters, most notably u/NoWaifuN0Laifu who like Hozuki, an Eastern sensual Fox Lady so yea there's that.
This is in part why I'm extremely hyped for Eastern Mythos and I can't wait for it ! And Yukino Alter (One of the main things keeping me attached to Another Eden)

1. Best Character Quest: Melissa
   Melissa is by far the best Character Quest and ask any veteran player and he'll tell you that. It's also the darkest and the saddest one in the entire game and it's special in the fact that Aldo IS NOT PRESENT in it at all ! Imagine THAT ! I won't say more because of spoilers but if you don't have Melissa you can just search on Youtube as her CQ is there and you can watch it ! If you have her but have not played her quest...WHAT ARE YOU WAITING for ? DO IT !
   
2. Best Character: Yukino
   This is subjective and my AE subreddit flair checks out, I love Yukino so much since her introduction, apart from me having a thing for women/girls with Ice powers, her story and how she was created (Also she's Eastern as well so another point !) also her relationship to Tsukiha so no need to say more!
   
3. Best Antagonist/Villain: Guildna (Main Story Part 1)
   The reason why to me Guildna is the best villain is NOT what you think it is ! Another Eden is a game centered around stories Beyond Time and Space there I said it but while there are really good villainy characters like for instance the Empress/Emperor of the Land of Mi and Shin (Again Eastern !) Garneli and Genshin but Guildna is special because he made me appreciate Main Story Part 1 alot more then the other characters, it tells you what happened if Guildna makes some impactful decisions in the storyline. Besides without Guildna there's no Aldo and therefore no Another Eden !
   
4. Best Cat Companion: Kuchiba
   I love the Siamese Cat Breed and Kuchiba IS the only one in the game in whom I didn't change ever since I found her years ago in Vermillion Road (Another Eastern Reference, see what I told you)
   
5. Best NPC: Some Guy
   He's Scott literally everywhere in the game. From the past to the future, from Zerberiya to Garulea, heck even in the Hollow you'll find him ! There's no way I make a list without appreciating "Some Guy" and his deeds to the game.
   
6. Best Frog: Cyrus (He's Eastern aswell ! I tell you this is why the Eastern Setting is THE BEST !!)
   
7. Best Main Cast Character: Guildna
   
8. Best Mascot: Varuo
   If Moke wasn't released as a playable Sidekick he would have been my pick but now I have to choose the 2nd best IMO and that's Varuo. The Iconic Cat mascot in the game.
   
9. Best Boss: Caroline and Justine (From Persona 5 Royal part 2 Collab)
   This boss used to be the hardest boss in the game for a long time and for good reason as it has alot of HP stoppers and has TONS of HP, while the boss has been powercrept and now easy with the recent units...back than it was a pain, another close second would be the Toova AS Manifest Battle which used to be the hardest Manifest fight in the entire game because of Toova AS insane fixed DMG and RNG involved.
   
10. Best OST: エルの唄～メリナ Song of Sword and Wings of Lost Paradise ED ~ The Stifling Song Melina Edition
    The best theme for the best story in the game, everytime I hear the OST I unconsciously start humming and even start tearing up because it's JUST THAT GOOD and after playing the Western Mythos and knowing what the lyrics means...man it hits hard ! A close second is Apex Logic and Cardinal Scales ED ~ Immaculate Full Version but let's be real ! The game is full of the best OST in a game ever !
    
11. Best Battle OST: Apex Logic and Cardinal Scales ~ Last Notes of the Battle Song Alter Dewey Boss Theme.
    This one is hard to choose as the game is packed full of Bangers in the Battle Theme departement but this one personally gets me all hyped...besides even you didn't reach that part of the game it still hypes you up ! A close second is First Knight and The Holy Sword ~ Dear My Dearest -Prayer of the Holy War- as I loved the Knights Episode Story so much and love the plot twist which leaves to this battle.

1. Best Free Character: Nona AS
   Seriously she's by far the most flexible free character in the game, yea sure it takes a bit to get her but she can give 1/3 of her stats to anyone and she can mold her kit into the unit she's devoted to including zone setting/element and attack type change etc... She's even more good when used with Aldo (And it's canon aswell as she's devoted to Aldo and loves him so much which he also does (Not in a friend way btw)) and we know SA Aldo is OP especially at 255 Light so yea !
   
2. Best Zone Setter: Iphi
   To qualify for The Best, a unit doesn't just has to set a zone but it needs to have OP effects with the zone setting skill/VC and to me no one who's better at that than Iphi, her zone setting skill Walpurgisnacht is seriously broken: First of all the skill is Pre-emptive; you get the best elemental zone (Shade zone); you get Blood Contract which gives you survivability and Lunatic Risktaker; you get 5T Magic Focus and if you recast it, you get Kaleido switch to Shade element for 1T for all units...ALL OF THOSE in a single skill and moreso when you realise that these are all skills you usually see in Stellar Awakening Locked-Behind recent units in a unit released a year ago
   
3. Best Damage Dealer (DPS): Xianhua
   Before Xianhua got released and broke the DPS meta, Yakumo and Sesta used to dominate that market but now Xianhua is the best end of question ! The reason being that her DPS potential is not locked behind her SA skill as most recent units does.
   
4. Best True Tank: Radias AS
   Some people might argue that Radias AS is being powercrept but to me a Tank is more than just high HP/DEF/DMG Mitigation via Shield or Debuffs but to me a Tank in AE needs to have Guard and Rage and to me Radias AS is still the best one even if she's now almost 2 years old. While Alma AS is alot more recent and has all of those she's more of a Secondary DPS/Support than a tank and her Guard is conditional; Soira AS doesn't have Guard;Anabel ES doesn't have Guard nor Rage and Prai is constrained by Stun after Guard
   
5. Best Support: Myunfa Alter
   I tried alot of units but to me no one can do support/sustain in the entire game than Myunfa Alter, seriously her kit is a dream to every one, she has everything you can think of, YEP EVERY.SINGLE.SUPPORT.EFFECT in her kit. If you have the fourth slot (80 light) she's even better, she support the entire party but more so the unit on her right:
   

* She can heal HP and MP and reduce MP consumption.
* She can tank (Tho not with Guard but with DMG mitigation such as -50% DMG taken, a 2000 Max HP Shield and insane debuffs + Buff END/SPR).
* She can set Earh/Magic Zone (3 Staff users+) and can awaken any zone.
* She can give Magic and Singular Focus.
* She can give Weapon Type DMG and Weakness Multiplier.
* She can give Status and Knockback Immunity.
* She set 3T pain/poison ignore res.
Yes everything I said above is in her kit, what's more is that she can do most of these preemptively and do you know what's more insane ! She's not bound by the Stellar Awakening System !

1. Best Healer: Anabel ES
   She can heal 50% HP/15% MP but unlike Radias AS which can also do it in a counter, if you put her in Guiding Light she gets +50% DMG and Healing meaning she can potentially heals 100% HP ! Something only seen in EX Attacks in ES characters and that one requires complex setting.
   
2. Best Pain/Poison Setter and DoT (Damage over Time) user: Pom AS
   A Best Pain/Poison setter doesn't just have to set p/p ignore res as most units can do that but can use p/p as DoT (Damage over Time) and no one can do it better then Pom. Heck 4⭐ Pom has been known for her gimmick of giving p/p if you have the appropriate equipment and there's Grasta Ores that gives +50% DMG if user is inflicted with Pain/Poison so yea.
   
3. Best AF user: Miyu ES
   To qualify for this the unit has to benefit more from using AF (Another Force) either by doing more DPS in AF or get easy AF Combo Multiplier, it's been known that Thunder units are the ones who can use AF efficiently and while the current Meta revolves around DMG outside AF, some units only shines in AF and Miyu ES is just that, a close second would be Victor AS but he can be tricky to use as you need the AF Combo to 1000% for him to deal 7300% DMG Multiplier but in a Thunder Team with high SPD it's possible.
   
4. Best Singer: Milsha AS
   While Singing has been powercrept by Praying, I still use Singing units from time to time and Milsha AS is by far the best from the best, seriously her 2 songs can give different Lunatic to the entire party depending on the Song being user (Sacrifice and Risktaker) and this effect can co-exist with other lunatic.
   
5. Best Praying unit: Toova ES
   This one is hard as most Praying units are OP ! However for me Toova ES takes the crown by a slight margin, just set her pray and forget about her and if you have a unit which can Cover (Iphi is most used with her) then you don't have to worry about her taking DMG and breaking Prayer.

Phew This essay took me 3 hours to write but that's how much I love Another Eden even tho the game's questionable direction does leave alot to be desired, I hope you enjoyed reading and I want to see everyone's opinion

Just wanted to update and thank this subreddit for helping me through the past year and a few months, and give an update to anyone who might be in a 1st DUI situation.
Arrested for DUI in February 2023 in PA(0.12, no accident, just simply pulled over). Completed ARD (12 HR Course, 30 Day suspension, $700 in fines, 6 months unsupervised probation). Started ARD in May 2023, completed class, fines, and all requirements by end of May 2023). Released early from ARD in August of 2023.
Due to the completion of ARD everything from this was supposed to be expunged, however come May 2024 everything is still flagging on a background check. I am currently still working with my legal council to get this expunged, however they basically make it impossible to get a straight answer on how to get everything done and make you jump through lots of hoops and red tape.
My biggest concern through all of this was by far was the criminal record side of things, as I am 23 years old and a young professional in my field. In January 2024, I started a new sales role with an extremely large and well known corporation in my industry and was absolutely terrified about the background check. I ended up coming clean to my hiring manager before the background check, and they were completely understanding as well as never brought the incident up again!
Fast forward to May now, I receive a call from a director at quite literally my dream company asking me if I’d be interested in a new role opening up since they were looking for someone who had past experience using certain systems that I had with my old job I was at when the DUI occurred. This job was a massive pay bump, I would get to move back to my hometown near family and friends, benefits were better, overall just a huge upgrade from what I am doing now.
Then comes the EXTREMELY rigorous background check. I was absolutely terrified I was going to lose this opportunity, as well as I didn’t want to mess up the job I was at currently by telling them I was leaving and having the new job not work out. I always have thought about background checks as a “only give information if asked” situation. However, with them wanting me to start at the end of the month, I simply just couldn’t take it anymore and I brought it up to my hiring manager again. Thank god I did as they were so happy that I was proactive and told them, and informed me it wouldn’t be an issue, and that it might be a different story if I hadn’t been upfront with them!
The charge showed bright as day on my background check, and all I had to do was provide documentation to HR that I had completed the diversion program, as they still hadn’t updated my docket yet saying I have.
Starting my dream job at the end of the month and I couldn’t be happier and more relieved I was able to take this opportunity!!
In my personal opinion when it comes to job hunting and background checks, if it is just a simple DUI no extentuiting circumstances, I would guage the rapport you have with the hiring manager and make that judgement call if you disclose to them or not. I knew mine was going to show up and in my specific situation wanted to control and own up to the situation so there were no surprises later.
The last year and couple months have been the most stressful of my life being a recent college graduate, and I would say forced me to grow up so incredibly fast.
For someone out there like me who was constantly reading this Reddit and having major anxiety, depression, and other issues due to being arrested and charged with a DUI, I promise it gets better with time and getting through it is a hard but good lesson! You will get past this and overcome this, and down the line with it will just be a blip in your timeline. However, always remember how this situation made you feel (I wear a wristband on my wrist every day that I had grabbed from the DMV when I was dealing with my license issues) and use that to make sure whenever you think about making the choice to drive even after a few drinks, YOU DONT!!
Post year and a couple months, I still drink socially, however if I ever have a single drink my car is staying where it is or I won’t have a sip if I know I have my car out with me and need to get it home. Buy that uber!
You are human. You made a mistake. You will prevail and make it out on the other side a better person because of it!!

As my heading suggests, my question is about civil services. For instance, let's take IAS. They work 12-15 hours daily, always under stress, sacrificing mental and physical health, sacrificing family life and than what do they get--meagre salaries. I am not talking about corruption. That is corrupted money and can never be used for incorrupted things.
Why do people still go for it. IAS officers never get awarded for their work but they sure get bashed for any mishap. Not forgetting their regular(or irregular) transfers. Isn't that too much for one person to handle.
Less salary, huge, huge work, no appreciation, unable to be filal to parents, spouse or even children. Getting to work at any odd timing. Listening to abuse and rough languages of politicians. Unable to provide good life to their family members. Isn't this too much for a person to bear alone.
I don't promote corruption (can never do it) but I am not blind, if such people who gave their everything, can't they atleast get a monetary gain(not more than 10-15 crores).
Still people say civil servants are corrupted, we should reform the UPSC. Won't the people selected from reforms will too suffer from these.
Huge Mansion- their numbers are slowly decreasing, House help- Working 15-17 hours with small salary, they better die if they have to do even that. Car- That's for official purose. Power-- what power, power doesn't teach my children, power doesn't help my parents to travel after their labourious sacrificies. (I know every parent sacrifice for their their children and I believe every parent should deserve this.)
That's it, this is all they get. Just think for a second, an IAS officer (top most service in our country) can't even send their children to good schools now. They can't even travel in 1st class AC.
They are not illiterate instead they are too sharp, disciplined, strong minded, calm personality.
How can I say this- bcz these are bare minimum qualities require to get in through UPSC CSE.
And still people say, this is a service, why choose the job if you don't like it's demerits. My answer to them is-- no love for country can go on if their children, parents, spouse are getting starved for basic amenities. Please don't say this is a service that it's not about money... because it really doesn't work like that.
I can only show professionalism when I am getting the same. That's why business partnership with relatives is a bad idea.
I want some answers to this. Reason: I too want to join civil services but these things bother me too much.
