Navien NPE-240A2 vs Bosch Greentherm T9900i SE Tankless

2022.12.06 04:28 DixitS Navien NPE-240A2 vs Bosch Greentherm T9900i SE Tankless

Im looking to replace my dual 50gal Natural Gas Hot water heaters with a single Tankless. I live in ATL GA area so coldest we will see inlet temp is no more than 55F in winter. I have a recirculation setup already so thats why Im looking at these two since they are built in as well.
I keep leaning on the Navien since it has the small buffer tank inside. But the Bosch is also nice with the inlets on the top making it alot easier to pipe up and look cleaner. Both have the same GPM specs so that dont matter. Both have recirc pumps built in. Both would be the 199k BTU condensing versions. I dont have an issue getting the PVC venting out as its only got to go about 10ft straight out to an exterior wall with one 90 elbow.

Whats the consensus on these? Do I just pick one and go with it if both are solid units? People seem to lean one way or another on these so not sure. Some dealers love Bosch some hate em. Same goes with Navien.

2022.03.21 21:24 dcdomain Noritz EZ111 over the Navien NPE240-A2?

Been gathering estimates from installers over the past two weeks. Based on the initial research, it seemed like Rinnai and Navien were the most recommended tankless brands. Either because of supply chain issues or just installer preference, I ended up getting seven quotes for the Navien and a few mentioning we can go with Rinnai if we want to wait it out. Sounded like the supply houses in the Seattle area had the Navien units and parts more readily available.
Anyway, I received an estimate from the final installer today after they had to reschedule. During the onsite he let me know that they were a Noritz dealer but also installed plenty of Naviens. I've been researching them since and only found two Reddit threads, with the most informative one being this one: https://www.reddit.com/Plumbing/comments/pqtbp9/hey_plumbers_of_reddit_what_brand_model_of/
Can't seem to find much else on Youtube/forums, etc. So basically I just have that Reddit thread above to go on. The Navien is $200 more which is negligible in the long run. What I find attractive about the Noritz is the warranty. +10 on the Heat Exchanger and +2 on the Labor. In addition (and this is likely minor since I don't see us moving back to a tank in the future), the plumbing seems to match more closely to a traditional tank setup which could feasibly allow us to go back to a tank in the future if necessary.
Any folks on here make the same decision or have experience with the Noritz? Trying to figure out which way I should go at the moment and lacking information on the Noritz end. TIA.

2019.08.11 03:04 greasedupblaqguy Alkaline water desired?

So, I work for a dealer as a kitchen and bath designespec person. I have a client who owns an apartment in a major city, and he has a faux attic for his current water heater that he wants to reduce the height of and put in a navien, but he hit me with one I haven’t been asked for. He wants alkaline water at all the taps in the kitchen and bath after the Reno. What the heck do I need to offer him? My co is half the nice fixtures half a plumbing supply
