Hi, I'm pretty new to the game, I just got Paladin and Warrior to lvl 50 a couple of weeks ago, and through my journey I've encountered people that pulled mobs for me, a lot of them, and I needed to adjust using more defensive cooldowns, stacking them (I've heard stacking them is bad but if there are too many enemies I would die if I don't do it). Also I can't get used to the aggro list not showing every enemy in battle, just the ones that have interacted with you.
When people do this, I ask them to not pull for me, that I get overwhelmed and that I'm new to the game, but almost every single time I get made fun of or ignored, which always ends in a full party death, and people leaving the dungeon.
I've also seen online, that tanks that prefer to go slow are made fun of by the community (like "The Seedy Underbelly of Final Fantasy XIV").
I don't get it, is there something I'm missing? Why is this so frowned upon?

Hello, all. We wanted to take some time today to talk about our next planned expansion, Gates of Tengoku. First, let’s get the bad news out of the way. We had originally, ambitiously, planned to try and get this set out before Gen Con. However, for several reasons, we have decided to delay that for a little bit. The set, originally planned to be about the size of Chaos Reigns, Part I (CRI), has instead developed into a robust 100 card expansion. If we managed to squeeze this set in with the minimal amount of playtesting, it would still end up releasing about two weeks before Gen Con. We don’t feel it would be in the best interests of the people that intend to play in our event to be forced to scrap and re-test their decks to account for the sudden influx of a set of this size. We also don’t want to rush the playtest process of this set in particular, for reasons that we’ll get into shortly. We would rather take our time, and do it properly.
So, what exactly is Gates of Tengoku?
The concept for this set began over a year ago, back when our project first took form. L5R has a long history of awarding storyline affecting choices to players, many of which show up in card form, with the player’s name on them. Unfortunately, it also has a long history of not awarding some of these prizes. Sometimes, things fell through the cracks, though many of the 2014 and 2015 Kotei prizes never came to fruition because the game officially ended before that could happen. When going through our documents in preparation for Onyx Lives!, we happened across the ‘Unresolved Storyline Prizes” document, detailing the results and choices of many, but not all, of these events. Seeing this fulfilled became a high priority for us.
Throughout Onyx Edition, you will see the occasional attribution of storyline prizes on cards. We fit in what we could, when we could, as we worked behind the scenes to reach out to people and try and fill in missing information. The intention was, when we collected all we could, to construct a version of a “Direct-To-Player” style set, containing all of them, and making good on the promise of one of L5R’s most important features, the participation of its community. Gates of Tengoku (GoT) is that set.
The nature of this set was also, as mentioned before, one of the driving factors behind our decision to move up our timeline regarding retiring our project’s use of AI art. We have always wanted GoT to be a positive experience for the entire L5R CCG community, not just those actively interested in our project, but for anyone who ever had a fondness for the game. For all those people who still showed up to L5R events, even after they knew that the game was closing shop. Our attempt to show all of these folks, even if it was only through some fan project, that the efforts they made and the prizes they won weren’t forgotten, and did matter. We did not want the specter of AI art to cast a pall over this set. All of these prizes, with the exception of a couple that are the result of our own online events (yes, they are in here too) were won before AI art was a thing, and we did not want anyone to hear that their prize, after coming to fruition a decade (or more in some cases) later was now associated with something many of them may have deep objections to. Simply put, it is not our right nor our intention to tarnish that for them. If we are going to do this set, then we need to do it the right way. But, that also got us thinking.
We are very encouraged by the overall positive response we have gotten from the larger L5R and art communities regarding our accelerated decision to drop AI. Many individuals and other L5R fan groups and communities have reached out to us, offering art donations or suggestions about things we can do, and even offering to partner with us to help build a larger fan community. These are all very exciting developments, and we thank everyone that has done so. Community is so important to the survival of a ‘dead game’. It is the only thing that keeps it going. Look no further than things like the Continuing Committee of the Decipher Star Trek CCG for proof of that, or any of the ‘Dead CCG’ fan sites and communities.
We believe GoT provides a unique opportunity for us to reach out to the community, due to its nature, so we are going to do something we haven’t ever tried before. We are going to ask the artist community to help build this set together with us. The kernel of this idea came from another of those vaunted L5R fan institutions that has extended a kind hand to us, Emerald Legacy, one whom we hope to build a strong friendship with in the months to come.
There is now available in our files a partial spoiler list for Gates of Tengoku. This includes:
- The name of each card in the set
- The Event and Winner associated with each card (if applicable, there are a few cards in this set that are actually not story prizes, but they are in a clear minority)
- A brief description of the nature of the prize awarded, probably no more than a few words

While tensions between Indonesia and the Philippines had been escalating for years, basically because of Indonesian migrant workers and families being blamed by the right-wing government as scapegoats for some of the country's problems, which resulted in Indonesians being discriminated more and more as the years passed by. The real problem was in fact how Russia manipulated the election to let President Fernando win. In turn, his party founded the Philippine Center for Fundamental Rights, which was anti-working class, anti-immigration, and anti-Muslim. This organization put pressure on the Filipino Government to "protect their nation". By 2025, Indonesian immigrants were being removed from their land, regardless of how they acquired it, their immigration status, or even whether they were married to a Filipino or not. Many Indonesians were being expelled from the Philippines by force. To say Filipinos and Indonesians didn't like each other was a big understatement.
In 2027, a Filipino football club from Manila and an Indonesian one from Jakarta were both in a two-round qualifying match for the 2027-28 edition of the AFC Champions League Elite. The first game was held in Manila, and the Indonesians were met with violence, a fight between fans erupted in the streets (quickly turning into a riot), and Filipinos were gathered all night at the hotel where the Jakarta team was staying to make noise and keep them up all night. Manila won and Jakarta lost 1-0. An 18 year old Indonesian girl named Aisyah Samudra couldn't take this and killed herself. Her funeral was used in Indonesia to bolster national sentiment, hundreds gathered in the streets to say their final goodbyes as her coffin was transported down the streets of Jakarta like she was a national hero.

A similar scenario occured in Indonesia, where 10000 Filipinos were displaced. The AFC demanded a third game in neutral ground (Singapore), and it is said that, on the day that game happened, Indonesia and the Philippines cut all ties and closed all diplomatic channels with each other. Manila won that third game and Jakarta lost 3-2 during overtime, and Manila was qualified for the 2027-28 ACL Elite group stage.
All of Indonesia was placed into lockdown as the Indonesian Air Force began their attack as well. The Indonesian Air Force didn't have any dedicated bombers, so they mostly used C-130 cargo planes with bombs in their cargo bays. The Indonesian Air Force used Rafales and Su-27 Flankers as escorts for the bombers, wile also using F-16 Vipers and Su-30 Flankers to deal with ground targets. A long-range strike into Villamor Air Base in Pasay City, which was part of the Mega Manila area, caught the Filipinos by surprise.

There's the second mission: Destroying an oil rig, or some base filled with fuel tanks.
The most well-trained troops in the Filipino military were the ones tasked with protecting Manila, so they were not at the front lines with the counteroffensive. The Philippine Air Force and the Philippine Navy managed to stuff them all onto ships and transport/cargo planes, and sent them to the front lines to reinforce the front in preparation for the counteroffensive.
Third mission: Escort duty, defend some plane or ships and help them transport some Army unit.
That's right, the Indonesian Air Force was getting owned in the sky after their initial success by just one fighter pilot: Captain John "Sparrow" Hernandez. There's your protagonist/player character with a Red Baron nickname right there.
So, there you go: Both sides have (mostly) the same planes and both sides have distinct paint schemes on their planes.
One such pilot was Major Anatoly Fyodorov, a Russian mercenary fighter pilot who was fresh off the Essequibo War, who used the Su-30 as his plane of choice.
So here we have the big scary opponent Ace with a backstory who flies Russian aircraft.
So the Philippines won, the war ended, and the peace treaty was agreed upon, but the whole "wars happen because countries exist" view still remains.
Oh, and don't forget the evil Russia and is leader, Vladimir Putin being the evil mastermind in the background.
A few months after the war, Captain Hernandez's F-16 is in display on a museum in Manila, kept there as a monument of sorts. So there you have the end credits scene honoring the memory of the lone pilot protagonist.
Most of everything was there, all that was left is the obligatory enemy superweapon. (And the once-a-game tunnel run.)

Now my wife and I have gone to many games before and have even taken our son — but not since he was a baby in the carrier. Today, my wife said my son and I should go as a neat little early Father’s Day celebration. So we did! My son currently loves baseball, has finished his first season in a league and loves all things about it. Favorite movie to watch currently is Rookie of the Year — and well, hopefully you get the point. However, this would be his first real game so my wife and I were very anxious. Eating, patience, possible boredom, etc. What happened today was freaking amazing! Our tix came with awesome parking and access to stadium level. I decided I’d take him early just to walk around the stadium and show him all the cool stuff that’s been added over the years. We get around the main gate of the stadium around 4:45-5:00 and being to wait. Crowd was awesome, took some photos with the WS rings outside and went through security and checkpoint with no issues. Son and I got the awesome Glassnow bobble heads and were on our way in! We start making our way to the stadium club just to check it out since we had access. We stop by the fan services booth and he got his first dodgers game pin. Staff was super nice! Carter making our way to the club, we just walk around and he’s clearly just soaking it all in. Everything baseball — you could see it in his eyes, it was really magical as a father to really see that joy and spark over something we both love. On our way out to leave the club (he didn’t wanna wait and possibly eat there) and older gentlemen saw Him and gave my son his bobble head! Score! To continue to show my son more of the stadium we make our way to centerfield plaza. A gentleman’s tops me and asks if I’m interested in trading one of my Glassnow bobble heads. I ask what he has and he shuffles through his clear bags to show us what he has — a bunch of stuff from this season and what not but what caught my son’s eye was the replica Fernandomania WS ring. Instantly did a trade for it! After more walking and what not my son and I made our way to our seats and stopped to get some souvenirs — a blue jersey and small wooden baseball bat for him — and get some grub: Dodger dog, tenders and fries, lemonade, and some soft serve. Got to our seats in field level and took a bunch of photos and sat down and he went to town on the food and continued to soak in the game! I just joined the PS4 Homebrew club (i stopped using it for at least a year and found the new jailbreak @ 11.00(mine was at 9.3 wheee!))and I was dumping my disc of Fallout 4 (not GOTY Edition, the base bersion)with itemzflow and kept getting error messages saying dump failed. Well to make an already long story short, I found out the update file (it was 1.37) was the culprit I deleted it and the entry in the PS4 and dumped it at version 1.0 (just base game only, No Update!)and the dump is going good so far! Crap, I hope I didn’t just jinx it now!! Nope, dump went well!! Hopefully this helps someone with this problem as it was bugging me immensely!!

That name sorta means the moment of sitting while playing my version of the game called Glory from the anime called King's Avatar.
I'll talk about the game and these are straight out of my notepad I wrote to not forget about it. Pls don't take it very seriously as they're temporary designs. TLDR: I need character arts either 2d drawing or 3d model that is free to use for my game I'd like to make. How would you make a fun game like Glory on the anime called the King's avatar?
The game features: chances of fighting scenarios happening by chance (imagine cinematic fights) everytime you fulfill the condition/s (like be a certain distance away from enemies and staying on that distance for a very short while. There will be a bar that shows how long you have to stay and if that bar dont appear then even if you meet the condition/s for a scenario there wont be a scenario <•thats for making the players engage in simple non-cinematic combat of aiming and using melee, block the melee attacks, etcetera so players won't move around weirdly unlike the anime) and once you're in a fighting scenario the game decides which keys/buttons will be needed to be pressed and the keys or buttons are decided by RNG. The buttons comes and goes within a short timeframe. (It's a refllex test, those with slower reflex won't be able to press the buttons fast enough thus fail at doing so) The keys required to be pressed is shown on the screen. This is for mimicking the artistic key/button presses seen in the anime. Do know that in a few seconds you can find and scrap several of the fighting scenarios available for you in a location relative to the enemy/enemies. (That's all I got right now, inform me of your version)
The better the scenario the slimmer the chance to pull off the requirement to take part in it.
Fleshing it out: There are 3 types of scenarios: Passive Submission Type - scenarios of one sided fights where the enemy cannot act to protect himself. Passive Semi-submission Type - scenarios where both players can decide the outcome of the scenario they're both in by pressing the right buttons faster. This should mainly occur at melee range for sending the enemies away as an opening for other scenarios to possibly be used And Passive Non-submission Type - a scenario where a player under it does it alone to do any of and a combination of: attacking and dodging. Which can miss.
The conditions for the scenarios are: *Be at a certain distance long enough *See the enemy while maintaining a certain distance
So think of the enemy as a stack of four 50 feet wide pizzas with crusts that are 30 feet high made by El Fuerte with different toppings per slice on the same location. if you're in the pepperoni region you do one thing relative to the enemy, if you're in the pineapple region you do something else relative to the enemy, if you're on the MNM region, gummy bear region, spinach region (yes they're also pizza toppings) you do 3 different other things relative to the enemy but that's all just 1 slice of 1 whole pizza and each whole pizza has different toppings and being in their region makes you do other things. Divide the stack of pizzas to thin identical slices from the top and now imagine each slice has enough room to hold one topping per 10 feet of the length of its upper surface. Those toppings would make the different locations each assigned with a different role either away horizontally or vertically.
Well I tried to simplify it. What i want to add is actually a bit more complicated than that.
Non-scenario features: First person mode Free character movement and free camera like moving and aiming in fps games. Attack key/button for manual melee attacks and ranged attacks. Block and parry as 1 key/button; block at the right time to parry. Jump, double jump, tapjump (kicking a nearby object in the way from the 2nd jump to do a third jump) as 1 key/button. Skill key/buttons for actively starting Non submission Type scenarios (edit: Non-submission type scenarios) which is more difficult to pull off than all the passive scenario variants/versions which also has a variety of difficulty.
That's the plan but I'll settle on what I can make.
If you have any idea of how to make this game fun without changing the mechanics too much tell me in the comments. It don't matter if the idea is from some other games.
Truth be told, I'm using Godot 4 and some of the really great features might be impossible to code for me or my friends. Yes they're helping me on my project.
Edit: I've read an ebook about how to make games fun and it's by making the amount of time spent exerting effort to achieve something be 300% shorter than the moment its executed or applied to achieve what its for. Idfk how to design good games but I'll still try to finish this project even if my friend's get too busy or give up. For sure I'll improve to see its bad in the process not that ik it's bad or not but I'll settle with what's been made.

Edit: What would you think of a "3 heights counter-attack system" of getting dmg boosts: If an enemy is aiming at your head region the moment you began the animation for attacking them on their middle region you get a critical dmg thats within a short milisecond. Middle region to low region, low region to head region. And the direction they're facing is indicated by a flying arrow so you can constantly keep track of where they're aiming at instead of the head or arms because the arrow would make it easier.
Edit: maybe I'll add an easy mode where everyone can do Ye Qiu's signature move.

If you “enjoy the game but know i’m really bad” why not play against the computecasual games until you understand? stop with the excuses of “it’s kids/bots” and “i’m having fun” 1) no not every single bad player is a child/bot, i’ve gamed since i was 3, children can understand and aren’t the only issue here and bots follow a guide. and 2) no it’s not all about just you in a ranked game, sorry it needs to be said but a “want to play” goes out the window when playing an online competitive function in a game, effecting someone else (4 other people in this case) game and experience.. being young and new are different and absolutely valid, we are all new at some point and all make mistakes, it’s life even diehard day one players slip up… but to have no idea wtf is going on in every game after playing for a good amount of time and be actively ignoring your team be it refusing to move lanes to help, ignoring pings or carrying, hogging and repeatedly losing 50 points.. it’s just WHY? even if you don’t really understand the games concept you absolutely 100% understand what “HELP ME” “I need backup” “rally here” “score points” means yet chose to never respond to the calls so again… WHY ranked? you can play the game all you like that’s fine but it’s just why ranked, why competitively.. admitting you are bad when options to learn the game and help you improve are right there but still refusing it is genuinely just so infuriating to see used as an “excuse”.
