Just a little background on my upbringing: I was raised by a single mother of 3, and we have always identified as Christians. While we didn't attend church every Sunday, my family and I always made an effort to, but sometimes life’s circumstances made it challenging. We are far from perfect Christians, but everyone has flaws and inevitably makes mistakes.
Over time, our family members took different paths. I joined the Military, my sisters pursued new careers, and my mom relocated back to our home state where most of our other family resides. Despite our physical distance, we maintained regular contact, but within the past few months, it’s been getting harder to find the energy to talk to my mom. She had been asking me for money fairly often, as well as taking money out of my bank account without even asking. I am always the one to help my family out in times of need, and I have never really minded it. But it was just getting to the point where I felt that she was doing it too freely and taking advantage of me, which led me to address the issue. This confrontation resulted in her kind of distancing herself from me and seeking financial assistance from others, despite having a stable income and manageable expenses. So i was just confused on where all of her money was going. I reached out, and offered to help her make a budget plan, to help budget her money more wisely, but she didn’t like that idea.
Fast forward to around February timeframe, and I still didn’t hear from her that often, unless it was for money. My sisters informed me that my mother had been spreading unfounded rumors about me having insider knowledge about government secrets and aliens due to me being in the military, and that’s why I don’t call them to talk to them often. But mind you, I talk to my sisters VERY often, and the reason I stopped talking to her as much, was because she would always ask for money when we would talk. Also, my job in the military rotates between MAKING FOOD at the chow hall and working at the FITNESS CENTER on base, and they all know that, so her claims definitely contradicts the reality of my jobs responsibilities.
What happens next? The solar eclipse in April. She called me for like a week leading up to it, begging and begging that I stay inside for it, because the government was gonna be releasing toxins into the air during it; telling me to keep my Bible next to me wherever I went; that the world was going to end, and just a whole lot of imagined dangers associated with the event, prompting her to believe that an apocalyptic scenario was imminent. I told her on the first day that she started to beg me, that I live on the opposite side of the world, and that the solar eclipse wasn’t even going to happen on this side of the world, so there was nothing for her to worry about. Ever since then, she has been frantically calling everybody in our family non-stop, telling us that the end of the world is IMMINENT, and that now is our time to get right with god, and pressuring all of our non-religious relatives members to embrace Christianity, and telling the ones with newborn children, that their babies are going to go to heaven, and they won’t, etc…
So it went from only hearing from her when she needed money, to all of a sudden, hearing from her 24/7, about doomsday prophecies, and everything about religion. I am a very stressed out and busy person, not just with work, but also with things outside of work, so the last thing I want to hear after a long day, is that the world is going to end tomorrow and everybody’s gonna die, so i try to avoid her calls as much as i can to preserve my mental well-being and to shield myself from the persistent doomsday messages. I LOVE God, I read the Bible, and I pray to God EVERY single day. God is my #1, so it kind of makes me feel like a bad person for ignoring her phone calls, and it makes me feel as if I’m avoiding talks about God and Christianity, but deep down, I know know I’m not, and that I’m just trying to protect my positive energy.
As bad as this may sound, my sisters and I believe that my mother's behavior might be influenced by substances like psychedelics or something, given her sudden immersion in conspiracy theories and erratic beliefs. Not just because of her talks about the world ending, but also because of the things she said about me knowing about aliens as well, and how all of this stuff just started happening out of nowhere. She’s never been the type to indulge in conspiracy thoughts or anything like that, so her sudden departure from her usual demeanor is just worrying and confusing. So I’m just wondering what other people may think, or if they have any input. Am I a bad person for thinking that her religious views are possibly influenced by drugs?

My cat is 4 and yesterday he had surgery after finding out he had bladder stones. His diet was Purina Cat Chow Naturals for breakfast and Fancy Feast Petites for dinner and has been for basically his whole life. The vet suggested transitioning to a boiled chicken diet and eventually a raw chicken diet.
I’ve been doing some research but there are so many different opinions and articles etc on if this is a full diet. But part of me is thinking just chicken is not enough nutrition. Does anyone else have experience with this type of diet or advice? I’ve also been looking into potentially doing freeze dried food as well to add more nutrients but I’m not sure what to do.

Nate & Stacia - honestly they were one of my favorite couples on MAFS I've ever seen. I felt they were both actually really mature in how they handled conflict. They never really yelled at each other or argued in toxic ways. Nate may have gotten more upset at times but I think overall you can really see the respect they have for each other consistently throughout the relationship. They both know what they want and are willing to put in the work on themselves so I'd say overall this seemed like a healthy dynamic and a true power couple to me!
Alexis & Justin - I'm surprised Alexis said yes and unsurprised that they argued immediately after the decision. They both have toxic arguing patterns and Alexis can straight up be a narcissist at times. I think its pretty fucked up that Justin had to give away the dog and Alexis treated it like it's not big deal. Justin was looking for validation and recognition of his sacrifice but Alexis just refused to give it to him. It seems like she was happy his dog was gone and she didn't really seem to care about that affect Justin. Justin also does read into things too much and sometimes creates conflict for no reason in appropriate ways/settings. They seem like a couple that will definitely implode with all the toxicity between them. Another point is in the honeymoon we see them as like this in love happy couple. That was a red flag for me because often the most toxic relationships start out that way because they aren't realistic. I think also Alexis was unable to compromise. Like this man gave up his dog for you and you can't give up going to the club with friends Every Weekend? You can't go out once a month or do brunch every other week instead? She just wanted Justin to adjust to her lifestyle without making any effort to adjust to his expectations, which I don't think we're even unreasonable. I get needing space but damn woman it's not that hard to come to a compromise on something like that.
Miguel and Lindy - they give me a few red flags as a couple and they both have some toxic tendencies as well, but I think they are at least aware of their own past traumas and baggage and willing to confront it head on. I think with their personalities it could naturally lead to a clash, but honestly I think Miguel was being pretty toxic towards the end, being very dismissive, cold, etc towards Lindy. At the same time I think Lindy also struggled to regulate her emotions and approach Miguel in healthy ways. I have mixed feelings about this couple because I do think it's relatable for a lot of us IRL, where we have partners who aren't perfect and have trauma that can affect the marriage. At rhe same time, it's how aware you are and how you respond in times of conflict that is gonna determine if you make it or break it. They do seem to have a lot of genuine love for each other which is what brings them back each time though, and I think they compliment each other in many ways as well. I think they both have some growth to do but overall I was surprised to see they chose to stay together and hope they don't let the toxic tendencies destroy them.
Mitch & Krysten - seems like everyone feels some type of way about Mitch and I'll join the club. Mitch made absolutely no effort to compromise and just expected Krysten to completely adjust to his environmentalist lifestyle without giving her much grace or agreeing to compromise himself. A healthier dynamic would have been him accepting that he makes certain choices but accepting that Krysten might not make those choices. Or maybe recognizing all the things Krysten did agree to change for him like using more environmentally friendly things in their house, and in response maybe he could have been more lax about other things. Him saying he wasn't attracted to her ON THE HONEYMOON like what and then the next day being all over her? Just seems so weird and I feel so bad for Krysten. She is a beautiful, kind, woman who showed nothing but class and respect throughout the entire experiment. I was especially blindsided when they both said no because the night before they were talking like they both wanted to make it work. But I'm glad they recognized that it was a fundamental incompatibility and were able to part ways somewhat amicably.
Morgan & Binh - poor Binh, that's all I can say. Morgan is a straight up abuser and narcissist with the way she treated him. I don't even think Binh really lied to her. I think he was just afraid to tell her he was tlaking to Justin.. he was afraid because normal non abusive people don't care if you talk about your relationship to friends. she spun it as "him lying" when thats not even the case. She was the one who lied on her application and got max that Binh called her out and questioned her honesty. I honestly don't think Binh did anything wrong here. Sure he could have been more open with Morgan but Morgan's response to the issues was to gaslight, project, and to turn herself into the victim for every little thing. She couldn't even forgive him for something so small and decided to end the marriage over it. I get that it's a major conflict but I got the vibe she just didn't like him amd was looking for an out. We see it early on. At the wedding Binhs family asks her if she wants kids and she doesn't really answer. We know from her friends that she doesn't really seem to want kids, and she finds out this is something he wants. I think from that moment she was looking for any excuse to get out so she took the first conflict as an opportunity to escalate and end things. We see further lack of interest on her end when Binh plans her a nice beef dinner. He opens up to her and is extremely vulnerable and even says he has a trigger with feeling like he's not good enough. The entire conversation his body is turned towards her, he's trying to make eye contact and she is...just chowing down, not making eye contact or really making any effort to truly connect. What's worse is that after he discloses this insecurity to her, she literally uses it against him over and over. Throwing the flowers down, constantly telling him that his apology isn't enough, etc. It's like she heard his insecurity and used it intentionally to hurt him. Straight up covert narcissistic behavior on her end and it was disgusting to watch. I am glad Binh escaped honestly and I feel bad for whoever Mogans next victim is. I hope Binh finds a woman who treats him better how he deserves.
All in all I think this was one of the better seasons I've seen with relatively less drama compared to some other seasons and Good examples of healthy conflict Resolution in many instances across most couples.

My tiel is around 9 months old and has been chilling with me for about 6 months now. We've built up some solid routines and habits, especially since I've been working from home. But now, with me gearing up to move abroad in just two months, everything's about to get shaken up big time. My mom's gonna take over looking after him, which is cool, but there's this one big snag – feeding.
Unfortunately, he's gotten used to chowing down only when I'm holding his bowl. Today, I was out for three hours, and when I got back, the little guy hadn't touched his food in the cage.
How can I get him to eat on his own without me holding the bowl?

So background: I started a business in pest control last last year. Using dogs to kill vermin - hoping to achieve a pesticide free, green way to control a problem as my province banned chemical control agents for things like rats and mice two years ago for most folks (except essential services like farming and Healthcare, but even a lot of those are trying to move away from using poison). I bought two terriers, got licensing and insurance, all of it. I've been training with the puppies, who are now 10 and 11 months, and while we haven't made any money yet, we have all learned a lot and I am hopeful we'll have a good first season this year.
Enter best friend. Her and her husband applied for a loan to build a carriage home. They needed 200k and they received 201k. This was months ago - the home is about 80% complete and will be ready for occupancy soon. We have been joking that the Lord (we are religious - her family moreso than mine, but grew up in the faith together) has a sense of humor to give them just a thousand dollars more than the exact amount they needed.
I got an email tonight saying she had transferred the $1k to me, with a message from her stating that she and hubby believe that money was actually meant for me, for my business. I'm not taking it, because all I really need to buy for the rest of the year is dog food, gas, and dewormer and I can afford that on my salary from my day job, while they have a whole carriage home to do the last finishes on and I know that things like lighting, cupboard handles etc for an entire house don't come cheap even if found on sale or whatever.
That said, I just feel so freaking blessed to have a friend like her who supports my endeavors. She was instrumental in making me believe I could even do this in the first place, and she's always asking how the dogs are or how many mice we've caught lately or giving me contacts of people who have rodent problems. And now this. She needs that money way more than I do right now and she's just so willing to give it to me because she believes in me. I've been feeling very overwhelmed with trying to raise dogs and build a business while working full time, and she was just like hey, you deserve this and I think you're meant to have it.
That support means more than all the money in the world and I know I'm blessed and lucky to have it.

I have a 6 month old chow chow mix, who I adopted 3 months ago. The one thing I wanted to make sure was firmly planned and in place was a proper exercise routine. I looked up how much exercise her breeds need, made a routine, and have had her on it since I adopted her. Up until now it's been great. She gets one 30 to 60 minute walk (its a sniff adventure, so she sets the pace). We walk just over a mile round trip, and she usually passes out right after. We get two 30 to 60 minute indoor play sessions, basically till she passes out again. And 1 to 2 hours of backyard time. Plus 20 minutes of training. At the end of the day, I usually let her out around 10:30 to go potty before bed, and up till now she's usually back inside and passed out by 11. Recently she comes back inside and gets crazy zoomies. She'll start playing again for over an hour. She usual goes until about midnight. A couple of times now she hasn't settled down until 1am, which is killing me. She wakes me up around 8am, and it takes me a while to get to sleep, so I'm sometimes running on 5 hours a night. That's not enough when you're raising a 6 month old puppy. I'm really not sure how I can pack anymore exercise time into the day, especially since we basically play until she wants to stop each time. And it already consumed so much of my day, I barely have time to take care of myself or my home. Any suggestions on how to get her energy out at a more appropriate time? I can't crate her. She was left in a crate for 3 days with only water before I rescued her, and now she's terrified of crates. So that's not really an option for us.

While I normally play New Vegas as a 1-Charisma sniper or a stimpack-chewing ape with a shotgun, I wanted to try something new this time. Also, I wanted to actually try RP, instead of just picking whichever option I always do. To that end, I thought I'd go for a a thief/casino heister, and wanted to get you guys' thoughts on it.

INTRODUCTION

The thief is a character that cares mainly about money and themselves. While they may choose to help others, it's never for purely benevolent purposes. To that end, they'll lie, cheat, steal, and barter their way across the Mojave, robbing places places and people blind, and get caught up in some political shenanigans along the way.

PLAYSTYLE

Overview Direct combat should be avoided wherever possible. Stealth or smooth-talking should be the go-to methods of resolving a situation, with a preference towards speech. The character is a thief, not an assassin.
Equipment Light armour and small weapons are the order of the day. Pistols, SMGs, knives, and knuckles are to be the primary weapons, though a shotgun and/or rifle may be carried as protection in the wastes.
Dialogue Dialogue choices should always be made with the intent to get a reward out of the other person, whether it's money, gear, or information. However, keep in mind that reputation and making friends with factions can prove to be a long-term reward. For example, while it may be tempting to shake down Bitter Springs for a monetary reward, they likely won't be able to give much. However, staying in the NCR's good graces can come in handy.
Combat Stealth wherever possible, stay at range if not. The build isn't suited for long, drawn-out fights, so end things as quickly as possible. Crits are the focus here, so use gear that boosts it.

BUILD

SPECIAL

• Strength: 4
  • Build Reason: Don't need much strength for this build, since it mainly uses smaller weapons and focuses on crit damage. Weapon Handling and the implant can be taken if bigger guns are needed.
  • RP Reason: The character doesn't need to be exceptionally strong. Anything they're looking to steal on their own will likely be fairly light, or at the very least, fit into a pack.
• Perception: 6
  • Build Reason: Needed for Light Step, Better Criticals, and RP-related perception checks.
  • RP Reason: Good thieves need good eyes.
• Endurance: 5
  • Build Reason: Doesn't need any adjusting. Endurance doesn't have any perks that are relevant to the build.
  • RP Reason: While the thief is no athlete, they're still going to be hoofing it across the desert. A little fitness goes a long way.
• Charisma: 5
  • Build Reason: Much as I'd like to make it a dump stat, RP demands it be left as is.
  • RP Reason: When shootouts and stealth aren't an option, there's always the chance to smoothtalk someone.
• Intelligence: 7
  • Build Reason: Skill points. That's basically it.
  • RP Reason: A smart thief is a good thief. Plus, hacking can shut down advanced security systems.
• Agility: 6
  • Build Reason: With an extra point from Small Frame and the implant, I can take Tunnel Runner later on.
  • RP Reason: Being nimble and dextrous is, quite obviously, an advantage in the thief's line of work.
• Luck: 7
  • Build Reason: With the Implant and the Lucky Shades, 9 is more than enough to break the casinos and have decent crit.
  • RP Reason: There's more than one way to rob a casino. That aside, a little luck goes a long way when it comes to thievery.

Skills

Tag

• Guns: At least one combat skill is needed, and this is the most effective ranged, silent, option that can get into casinos.
• Lockpick: As far as I can tell, there's generally more Lockpick-gated loot than hacking-locked goodies.
• Sneak: Should be self-explanatory.

Main

• Barter: Stealing something is only half the job. Someone needs to buy it afterwards too. Also, I have a self-imposed challenge where I can't level Speech higher than Barter, forcing me to get more creative as well as RP.
• Speech: For talking my way out of a sticky situation, or talking my way into an area.
• Melee Weapons: A knife just has to do sometimes. Also saves on ammo.
• Repair: I can't live without Jury Rigging. It's a problem.

Secondary

• Medicine: Ideally, the thief doesn't even get seen long enough to get shot. However, in the event they do, stimpacks are generally the go-to option, rather than chowing down on a three-course meal and washing it down with centuries-old Sarsaparilla.
• Unarmed: Melee's preferred, due to the Bowie Knife existing, but this works too. Also I think I broke one-handed melee animations with mods and I don't know how to fix them so I may swap the two around.
• Science: For hacking and suchlike, when a bobby pin just won't do.

The Others

• Energy Weapons: Too loud, too flashy.
• Explosives: On a "going loud" heister build, maybe. In this case, they're a no-go.
• Survival: May dump a few points in to cook basic meals, but the thief isn't going to be some gunslinging cowpoke more at home by a campfire than in a house.

MAJOR FACTIONS

NCR A whole slew of suckers, waiting to have their caps swiped. The thief may not like them, but they'll stay friendly to keep them sweet - and to keep them looking the other way regarding more minor crimes.
Caesar's Legion While the NCR can be bribed and negotiated with, the Legion is a different beast entirely. Stay in their good graces if possible, but be prepared to ditch them at a moment's notice for a less crucifixion-happy faction - doubly so if playing a female courier.
House While the thief may not see eye-to-eye with him on his politics, the money and (relative) freedom he grants them makes him an attractive prospect to side with. As long as he pays - and pays well - the thief'll carry out his orders. The Mojave's just another job, after all.
Yes Man The thief isn't a politician or an overlord. While ruling the Mojave may sound appealing to some, they'd rather avoid the burden of being responsible for an entire nation.
Brotherhood of Steel A bunch of weirdos and nutjobs, but their tech probably sells for a fair few caps. If the opportunity to infiltrate arrives, consider taking it. Given that Hardin's quests generally don't involve traipsing through dangerous locales, the thief will likely decide to side with him if they do.
Followers of the Apocalypse Naive, but in an endearing sort of way. Besides, it never hurts to have a doctor in your corner that's willing to patch you up for a discount.

I’m currently 13+5 and I’ve had my chow for over 2 years now, she’s always been a diva and there’s a few areas where she needed further training but wasn’t anything massive (I.e running away from her harness when trying to go on walks or stopping and watching everyone on them walks!)
However, since becoming pregnant she has started to act out in little ways. Such as she’s starting to mouth me a lot, not biting at all, but she’ll start off licking me on my legs or feet and then she’ll start mouthing me. Most of the time I think it’s to get my attention and to make me get up and get her treats. However, even when I sit down and play with her and I have her teddies in my hand she’ll all of a sudden just start mouthing me instead.
She’s also been super needy and I’ve been told howling when I go out. Some days when she’s not getting attention or what she wants she’ll be naughty, like jumping up at the cabinet to knock the flower pot off, or trying to pull blankets off people on the sofa to get them to play with her. She’s also started to flip our other dog’s bowl over, knocking all her biscuits out everywhere! She also turned her back on my sister and stomped her paw on the floor because she wasn’t getting a treat!
This is my first child, so have never experienced this before and don’t really know what to make of it! She’s absolutely fine around babies, she’s grown up with my niece and has never been aggressive in the slightest, if anything she tends to take herself elsewhere unless my niece has food or a toy she can also play with. So I’m not worried about when baby comes!
