2024.06.02 10:59 Beginning-Eagle-8932 [maybe ASB] Why the Seven Months War between Indonesia and the Philippines was the most Ace Combat-like war ever.

Mostly based upon this: https://www.reddit.com/acecombat/comments/islc7v/the_100_hour_war_between_el_salvador_and_honduras/
1: The war started for a stupid reason, but it was more complex than that.
The Seven Months War has another which people also know it as: the "Second Football War" or the "Second Soccer War". While tensions between Indonesia and the Philippines had been escalating for years, basically because of Indonesian migrant workers and families being blamed by the right-wing government as scapegoats for some of the country's problems, which resulted in Indonesians being discriminated more and more as the years passed by. The real problem was in fact how Russia manipulated the election to let President Fernando win. In turn, his party founded the Philippine Center for Fundamental Rights, which was anti-working class, anti-immigration, and anti-Muslim. This organization put pressure on the Filipino Government to "protect their nation". By 2025, Indonesian immigrants were being removed from their land, regardless of how they acquired it, their immigration status, or even whether they were married to a Filipino or not. Many Indonesians were being expelled from the Philippines by force. To say Filipinos and Indonesians didn't like each other was a big understatement.
In 2027, a Filipino football club from Manila and an Indonesian one from Jakarta were both in a two-round qualifying match for the 2027-28 edition of the AFC Champions League Elite. The first game was held in Manila, and the Indonesians were met with violence, a fight between fans erupted in the streets (quickly turning into a riot), and Filipinos were gathered all night at the hotel where the Jakarta team was staying to make noise and keep them up all night. Manila won and Jakarta lost 1-0. An 18 year old Indonesian girl named Aisyah Samudra couldn't take this and killed herself. Her funeral was used in Indonesia to bolster national sentiment, hundreds gathered in the streets to say their final goodbyes as her coffin was transported down the streets of Jakarta like she was a national hero.
The second game took place in Jakarta, and Filipinos were met with violence, Indonesians stayed around the hotel where the Manila team was staying to make noise all night long, some flagpoles at the stadium had dirty rags instead of the Filipino flag, Jakarta won, and Manila lost 2-1. The coach from Manila, while he and his team were on the way to the airport inside an APC (because it was too unsafe for them to simply go in a regular bus), was recorded as saying to his players "It's a good thing that we lost."
Over 20000 Indonesian immigrants were forced out of the Philippines, many not by the Government, but by Filipinos that burned down their houses, their businesses, and even killed some of their family members. A similar scenario occured in Indonesia, where 10000 Filipinos were displaced. The AFC demanded a third game in neutral ground (Singapore), and it is said that, on the day that game happened, Indonesia and the Philippines cut all ties and closed all diplomatic channels with each other. Manila won that third game and Jakarta lost 3-2 during overtime, and Manila was qualified for the 2027-28 ACL Elite group stage.
  1. Military actions were done in unusual ways by the Indonesian Air Force.
A month after that final defeat, Indonesia launched a surprise attack and invaded the Philippines. The Indonesian Army and Navy quickly began gaining ground in the Philippines, and within a month had full control of Mindanao and Palawan, setting up occupation governments in the places they captured, with the goal of reaching and conquering Manila.
All of Indonesia was placed into lockdown as the Indonesian Air Force began their attack as well. The Indonesian Air Force didn't have any dedicated bombers, so they mostly used C-130 cargo planes with bombs in their cargo bays. The Indonesian Air Force used Rafales and Su-27 Flankers as escorts for the bombers, wile also using F-16 Vipers and Su-30 Flankers to deal with ground targets. A long-range strike into Villamor Air Base in Pasay City, which was part of the Mega Manila area, caught the Filipinos by surprise.
So the first mission is a surprise bombing raid, typical for an Ace Combat game.
  1. While the Philippine Army and Navy didn't really stop the Indonesian offensive, the Philippine Air Force did.
As the the Filipino surface forces were getting owned in the Visayas, the PAF, the Philippine Air Force, began the counterattack. While Villamor Air Base near Manila was attacked, it was still fully operational, and with the fighters that fled there, the Philippines, using T-50s as primary strike craft, escorted by F-16s and MiG-29s, launched attacks on Indonesian ground targets in Palawan and Visayas to stop the advancing Indonesian military. This included a long-range attack on oil and fuel facilities in Palawan and nearby Kalinmatan. The attacks were successful, and multiple crucial fuel tanks were destroyed, wasting a large amount of Indonesian fuel. This left the forces in Palawan without fuel, and without fuel, they couldn't continue their advance towards Manila.
There's the second mission: Destroying an oil rig, or some base filled with fuel tanks.
The most well-trained troops in the Filipino military were the ones tasked with protecting Manila, so they were not at the front lines with the counteroffensive. The Philippine Air Force and the Philippine Navy managed to stuff them all onto ships and transport/cargo planes, and sent them to the front lines to reinforce the front in preparation for the counteroffensive.
Third mission: Escort duty, defend some plane or ships and help them transport some Army unit.
  1. Most fighters in the Indonesian Air Force who got shot shot down in a dogfight with Philippine Air Force were downed by the same pilot, who was accountable for more than 50% of Filipino air-to-air kills.
Captain John Hernandez, flying a Viper, achieved 41 aerial victories over the course of the war, becoming a Filipino Ace of Aces and earning a nickname: the Sparrow. He also became Ace-in-a-day within the second month of the war, downing 2 Indonesian Flankers during an air raid, and later shooting down 6 Rafales on his way home.
That's right, the Indonesian Air Force was getting owned in the sky after their initial success by just one fighter pilot: Captain John "Sparrow" Hernandez. There's your protagonist/player character with a Red Baron nickname right there.
  1. Both sides had basically the same planes, but one side had this neat camo pattern that clearly set them aside.
You might have noticed how most of the i've mentioned are US-made or Russian-made. That's because Indonesia and the Philippines bought F-16s from the US and Indonesia bought some flankers from Russia, while the Philippines bought some old MiGs from Poland. Indonesia used Flankers and Rafales as primary fighter, while using Vipers and T-50s as fighter-bombers, whereas the Philippines used F-16s and T-50s mainly in a fighter role with Super Tucanos and OV-10 Broncos as primary attack planes. It wasn't hard to tell the two countries' planes apart from each other, for example, while Filipino Vipers used the same grey paint scheme used by the US, Indonesia had a military camo pattern applied to their F-16s (as seen here).
So, there you go: Both sides have (mostly) the same planes and both sides have distinct paint schemes on their planes.
  1. In desperation from the Filipino counteroffensive, Indonesia began buying plane parts (and sometimes planes themselves) from anywhere they could and began to hire mercenary pilots to fly them.
Four months into the war, having lost both planes and pilots, and with the Army and Navy starting to lose ground in the Visayas, and having practically completely lost Palawan, Indonesia got desperate. they began getting new airframes and spare parts from whereever they could (they basically bought them from scrapyards that had them), made the frames combat-worthy again, and hired mercenary pilots to fly them, giving them provisional Air Force ranks (and, for many, fake identities).
One such pilot was Major Anatoly Fyodorov, a Russian mercenary fighter pilot who was fresh off the Essequibo War, who used the Su-30 as his plane of choice.
So here we have the big scary opponent Ace with a backstory who flies Russian aircraft.
  1. The war ended after just seven months (hence the name), after the counteroffensive succeeded in retaking all of Mindanao. And nothing really changed afterward.
After the Phlippines sucessfully retook Mindanao and the nearby Sulu archipelago, Indonesia had ASEAN intervene in the war, and after the US threatened military action in the event of any further attacks from Indonesia, both parties would cease hostilities and sign a peace treaty in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, thus ending the war. The reasons for the tensions remained, however, as President Fernando would continue his policies (until he was voted out of office), and Indonesia would continue to displace Filipinos.
So the Philippines won, the war ended, and the peace treaty was agreed upon, but the whole "wars happen because countries exist" view still remains.
Oh, and don't forget the evil Russia and is leader, Vladimir Putin being the evil mastermind in the background.
A few months after the war, Captain Hernandez's F-16 is in display on a museum in Manila, kept there as a monument of sorts. So there you have the end credits scene honoring the memory of the lone pilot protagonist.
Most of everything was there, all that was left is the obligatory enemy superweapon. (And the once-a-game tunnel run.)
Sorry if i offended anyone here.

ESA Eastern Summit Academy (New Infocus) Wonju, Gangwon-do
Hello everyone, I want to blacklist this hagwon. Originally, the hagwon is called ESA but it moved to Infocus but it is still called Infocus ( "New" Infocus as written on the academy van) so the person who hires might give one of the two names. Here are some of the things that scream red flag to me: * Teachers always have to ask about salary, usually coming a few days late. * One teacher whose native language wasn't English was hired with an illegal visa, the English degree was not checked, nor was the criminal record. That same teacher got their working contract 2-3 weeks after their first day. * One teacher’s given accommodation had no bed and had to sleep on the floor for a few days. * Teachers must come to teach on the same day or the following day of arrival in Korea. * Moving day (From ESA to Infocus) was done on March 1st which is a red day and teachers weren’t paid. * One teacher’s training was one week of non-paid work (The training period is actual teaching). But one other teacher’s training period was 3 days paid 75% of actual salary. * Management only hires people with no experience, but they don’t want to deal with actual training/questions about teaching. * Communication between management and teachers is inexistent, teachers get scolded a lot for not following rules that were never stated, nor orally or in the contract. * Teaching materials are very boring and last only a month and when one workbook is done, teachers have to wait 2 to 4 weeks to receive the new one. Teachers are given science, art, and maths books to teach to the students. Teachers have no time to lesson plan, or even to print any worksheet as there is only one PC and one printer for 6 people, including the owner. * Teachers sometimes have to stop teaching in the middle of a class to ride the school van with younger students, leaving the students alone in the classroom, doing nothing. * Full-time teachers work more than 40 hours/week: 9:00 am to 6:30 pm. Part-time teachers don’t get the 30-minute mandatory break time. * One teacher got scolded in their classroom in front of the students. * Teachers don’t have any teacher room, or somewhere to relax between classes. * Teachers have to report every class to the parents through the classnote app but they can’t do it during working hours because they are so busy. Teachers usually stay 30 minutes more to write and send the reports. Those 30 minutes are not paid.

2024.06.02 10:40 Frequent-Ad-42 was i unlawfully arrested?

TL/DR
i was taken into custody by federal agents and processed for a suspected DWI without giving any signs that i could have been intoxicated, and after passing all field sobriety tests.
is what they did unlawful and if so, what are my options for recourse?
In early 2020, I was taking a nap in my parked car across from my at the time girlfriends apt waiting for her to get home. This was within the boundary of the Presidio (an ex-military base turned National Park in San Francisco, CA. Think of the area surrounding the southern entrance/exit of the Golden Gate Bridge). The engine was off, and it was the middle of the day. Suddenly, a United States Park Police Officer (federal police) knocked on my window, requesting that I open my door. She then made me get out of my vehicle and began interrogating me under suspicion of DWI because I was asleep in my car. During the search, she found a small amount of heroin in my pocket. She proceeded to spend the next 30 minutes administering every field sobriety test she could think of, which I passed without a hitch. In my opinion and observation, she even seemed to make up her own sobriety test on the spot, and I passed that one as well. Despite passing all the tests, I was taken into custody by this U.S. Park Police Officer. Meanwhile, my dog, who was with me in the car, was taken to Animal Care and Control (the pound) as my car was impounded. They wouldn’t allow anyone, not even my brother who was just 10 minutes away, to retrieve her. The officer said the arrest was for suspected DWI, even though I was completely sober the entire time.
After giving the blood sample at the San Francisco County Jail, I was taken to the U.S. Park Police SF Field Office, where my mugshot was photographed, and I was fingerprinted. I remained detained in a cell by myself for several hours until a detective arrived to speak with me and investigate as to whether I was a drug dealer or not. To the best of my knowledge, I have never been involved as a drug dealer. After an hour-long investigation, they released me, leaving me stranded without no way to get to my car on the complete opposite side of town and unable to reach my dog. The paperwork I received for my dog informed me that if I didn’t pick her up within two days, she might be put up for adoption or euthanized. Being a Pit-Bull, I assumed the latter. Since that release day, I haven’t heard a single word from the U.S. Park Police. I assumed they would send me a court notice, but nothing has arrived.
My question now: Were the actions taken by the officer within her rights and therefore what they did to me legal? Is what they did to my dog legal? Did they make any mistakes during the process, and if so, what options are there for me to seek some sort of compensation? The car impound alone was nearly $3,000 that i went into debt for in order to pay.

2024.06.02 10:39 Potential_Occasion_5 Did I do the right thing?

This was a few years ago now. At the time I 17m and my new wife 21f got pregnant and had a kid. Sorry but this is a long story..
A bit of needed back story though… when I was 6 my parents divorced due to my dad cheating on my mom. I didn’t realize until I was older but my dad was what you would call an abusive drunk. My mom was verbally abusive and high on pills all the time. When my parents finally got divorced I remember couch surfing with my mom because we got evicted from the house since she wasn’t able to keep a job. My dad did pay child support but I have no idea what would happen to it. There were a lot of guns, drugs, violence, and death in my younger years. I turned 12 and started to understand everything and saw my dad turning his life around with his new wife so I decided to move in with him. It was a rough couple of years but it worked out in the end. That said onto the story..
That summer was a very fulling time in my life. I graduated high school, signed up for the military, and got married in 2019. I was in boot camp for the first 10 weeks of my wife’s pregnancy as it was our only income. Flash forward to us going to my first duty station. My first duty station ended up being 5 hours away from my father’s, and 3 hours away from her parents. In early 2020 our beautiful son was born. This where things started getting bad. My wife was suffering from postpartum and refused to get treatment. So instead, her treatment was going to her parents for a few weeks at a time. Besides her mom knowing my son better than I did, this worked out well. My wife and kid were happy and healthy besides a few mental breakdowns here and there. Then Covid and the Riots started happening. I was stationed on the outskirts of a large city. My base ended up restricting travel to 50 miles outside of base (this meant I wasn’t able to drive my wife and son to her parents anymore as I’d be breaking no less than 4 articles of the UCMJ if I was caught) this is where things took a turn for the worst. My wife got separation anxiety as this was the longest she’s ever been away. We started arguing a lot more often. Everytime I went to work, she would just stay in bed with our son and do nothing at all. I got very stressed but managed to juggle a 70 hour work week, feeding and taking care of my family, cleaning our apartment, and taking care of all the bills and expenses. My command decided to put me in something called ASF which basically means twice a week on top of my regular job, I’d now do gate guard duty and work with the MP’s on a 14 hour rotation. Things got so loaded on to my metaphorical plate that I developed stress related sleep apnea and couldn’t get a good nights rest on top of all of this. Months go by and nothing is getting better. I’ve recommended therapy, couples therapy, trying to go on walks, talking it out.. my wife didn’t want to do any of it. What’s worse is still wasn’t able to hold of get to know my kid very much at all. It got it he point that in August of 2020 I decided I wasn’t going to let my kid grow up how I grew up and asked for a divorce. I didn’t want him to grow up living with resentment towards his mom and dad, I hated every second of the arguing that took place in front of him, even if he didn’t understand. It broke my heart but I felt we’d do better co parenting instead of being together.
The divorce goes through and it was uncontested. My ex wife fell in love with her best friend from her hometown and was able to quickly move on and marry within a year. She got main custody and I got weekends. I started paying child support 3 months before I had to bc I wanted to make sure they were taken care of. She moved back in with her parents, however, and this caused some strain once we were divorced seeing as how I still wasn’t allowed to travel up there that often. Things got worse between me and my now ex wife dues to the travel ban and her not willing to compromise that much. From January of 2021 to July I was only able to see my kid about 5 times in total. In July my state decided to lift the travel ban and so did my base!
I started making plans and a schedule that my ex agreed to at first. Me and my ex were not very friendly to each other however. I resorted to only texting her about making plans surrounding my son. Bc of this she retaliates and won’t let me see him. It got to the point to where I was calling the cops so they could knock on her door as I stayed by my car. There is body cam footage, recorded phone calls, text messages, and screen shots of her refusing to let me see my kid. My ex then decides to file for more custody and more child support. Wishing 2 weeks I had to take leave, find and hire a lawyer with no money to my name, gather my evidence, and show up to court on a Thursday. Thankfully my loving aunt helped me pay a portion of the retainer so we could get things started with the lawyer. My wife also filed a temporary restraining order against me stating I was “violent and a danger to her and our kid” I had evidence to prove otherwise however, so I wasn’t worried. My lawyer stated this would be considered a separate case thus doubling my retainer. At this point in time I’m living on 70% of $30,000 a year, maxed out my credit cards to pay bills, and had to find an extra $10,000 for this lawyer. My wife lived in a small town so he was literally the only other option for me. This lawyer was terrible though. He told me I had to file my own affidavit, subpoena the officers linked to my case number for the body cam footage, and file all my evidence with the court due to the short notice. I didn’t have access to half the websites due to them costing money and needing an attorneys credentials so needless to say, I didn’t get the body cam footage. Court time appears and the judge grants that I’m allowed to do supervised visits every weekend until the new year. Once the new year came I would’ve been allowed to see him on the original plan for every other week unsupervised. This had me livid, but I accepted since I just wanted to see my kid. A few weeks go by and I’m finally getting to know my son. He was the only thing that kept me going in life at this point. He was and still is my main source of happiness. My lawyer calls me randomly one day stating that my wife put on the terms that my son wasn’t allowed to see my grandparents or my aunt when he was going to start staying with me every other weekend. No reasons were given. I of course denied these changes and wanted to keep the agreement how it was. Atleast then I could keep seeing him. My ex text me later that day stating “my lawyer asked me to inform you that since you refused to sign the updated agreement the restraining order is now back in place” I called my lawyer and immediately asked him to figure this out as this shouldn’t be legal. My lawyer then asked for another $5000 as it’s another case. I told him fine but he needs to actually do some work this time. He said he’d get back to me in a week with an update. A month goes by and I end up calling him asking what the situation was with my current case and he asked for the money to be paid before he looks into it. I told him that’s not what we agreed and that I’m making regular payments as you requested. My lawyer flat out says it’s not enough. I need it up front since I don’t believe you’re able to pay it. He was right I wasn’t able to pay it but I was trying my damndest to. I took 2 weeks to deliberate and talk to family and friends about my whole situation. At this point I’m now $12,000 in lawyer debt ($3,00 is what my aunt help with earlier) $15,000 in credit card debt and surviving off of $50-$100 a week for food and gas. I can’t sleep, I’ve gained 70 pounds in the span of a year. I was getting in trouble with the military for being late due to lack of sleep, being overweight, and rarely being at work since I had to go to my ex wife’s town to fight this custody battle so often. Ultimately I decided that this is turning into my parents divorce where they were putting me and my brother in the middle of all of there disagreements and fights. That’s exactly what I was trying to prevent, so I decided I couldn’t bring myself to hurt my son with all of this anymore. I’d keep a folder full of all the screen shots, text messages, photos, affidavits, etc. when he gets older, if he decides he wants to give me a chance… if he even knows about me, I’ll have it ready for him to read so he can make his own decision. This was the hardest thing I’ve ever done and I still don’t know if it was the right thing to do..

I’d keep a folder full of all the screen shots, text messages, photos, affidavits, etc. when he gets older, if he decides he wants to give me a chance… if he even knows about me, I’ll have it ready for him to read so he can make his own decision. This was the hardest thing I’ve ever done and I still don’t know if it was the right thing to do…

2024.06.02 10:24 Papa_Hasbro69 To all magic players. Beware of LGSes that appear on the route stretches of the California Route 66. It is too late for me but let this be a warning to the rest of you.

To all magic players. Beware of LGSes that appear on the route stretches of the California Route 66. It is too late for me but let this be a warning to the rest of you.
I’ve always been a fan of Magic: The Gathering. There’s something about the intricate strategies, the beautiful artwork, and the camaraderie that has always drawn me in. So when I stumbled upon a quaint little game store tucked away in a remote part of the rural California desert while I was driving along the historic route 66, I was thrilled. The sign above the door read “The VML,” and the window displays were filled with vintage cards and board games. It felt like stepping into a treasure trove.
My first visit to The VML was nothing short of magical. I had come across it while driving home from a trip, the bright, inviting sign a beacon in the desolate landscape. The shop was dimly lit, with shelves crammed full of games and memorabilia. The air was thick with the smell of old paper and the faint scent of something musty, but it only added to the charm. The shop owner, an outspoken transwoman named Ms. Hargrove, welcomed me with a warm smile. Her eyes twinkled behind her round spectacles, and her voice had a soothing, almost hypnotic quality.
The VML prided itself on being an inclusive space, reaching out to members of marginalized genders and offering two spots to the Magic Pro Tour each year. This commitment to diversity was one of the reasons I felt so drawn to the shop. It seemed like a welcoming community where everyone could feel safe and valued.
I quickly became a regular at The VML. The other players were friendly, and we bonded over our shared love for the game. There was Carl, a burly man with a deep laugh, and Jane, a quiet woman with an impressive collection of rare cards. Our games were intense, filled with laughter and groans of defeat. It felt like I had found a second family.
We often played draft and commander formats, our favorite styles of play. Draft nights were especially exciting, with the tension of opening booster packs and crafting the perfect deck. Commander games, on the other hand, were epic battles that could last for hours, with alliances forming and breaking as we vied for dominance. It was the highlight of my week.
The shop had its quirks. Everyone wore pronoun pins, a small but meaningful gesture that fostered a sense of inclusion and respect. Ms. Hargrove was particularly passionate about the Universes Beyond cards and always made sure they were featured prominently. She also had a special fondness for the Gay Pride Bearsape card, which she claimed brought good luck.
Despite its welcoming atmosphere, The VML had its dislikes. Ms. Hargrove and the regulars despised the subreddit freemagic with a passion. They saw it as a toxic community that went against everything the shop stood for. I didn’t pay much attention to it at first; I was just happy to have found a place where I belonged.
The players at The VML always urged me to spend more time at the shop. They seemed genuinely thrilled whenever I walked through the door, their enthusiasm infectious. But the longer I stayed, the more I noticed subtle changes in myself.
One evening, after a particularly thrilling commander match, Ms. Hargrove approached me with a small, velvet-lined box. Inside was a set of Arabian Nights cards, pristine and untouched. She said it was a gift, a token of appreciation for being such a loyal customer. I was ecstatic. Arabian Nights was one of the most coveted sets, and having it in my collection felt like a dream come true.
But from that moment, things began to change.
It started subtly. I noticed a strange sensation in my fingers whenever I touched the cards, a tingling that soon turned into a dull ache. My skin grew pale, almost translucent, and I felt an odd sense of detachment from my own body. My pulse, once steady and strong, began to slow, a faint throb beneath my skin.
The players at the shop began to make offhand comments and jokes about transitioning, often sharing stories about how good HRT was. They even offered me pills, insisting they would help me feel better and more in tune with myself. Desperate to stop the changes I was experiencing, I took them, hoping they might help. But the pills only hastened my decay. They weren't HRT; they were medication that increased the rate of necrosis in my body.
My skin began to flake off in small, dry chunks, and no amount of lotion could stop the decay. I couldn’t feel my pulse as strongly anymore, and my reflection in the mirror looked gaunt and hollow. Panic set in. I combed through forums and medical websites, desperate for answers, but nothing seemed to fit. It was then that I decided to investigate The VML. Something about the shop, about Ms. Hargrove and the other players, felt off. I needed to know the truth.
I returned to the shop late one night, long after closing time. The lights were off, but I could see a faint glow coming from the back room. My heart pounded in my chest as I crept inside. The air was thick with decay, and the musty scent I had once found charming now turned my stomach. As I approached the back room, I heard voices, faint and whispering.
Pushing the door open, I was met with a sight that froze my blood. The room was filled with the players, but they were not the lively, friendly faces I had come to know. They were corpses, long dead and rotting, their flesh hanging in tatters from their bones. Carl’s deep laugh was now a hollow, rattling sound, and Jane’s quiet demeanor was replaced by the vacant stare of a skull.
And at the center of it all was Ms. Hargrove, her eyes no longer twinkling but glowing with an eerie, unnatural light. She looked at me with a twisted smile, and I realized with horror that I was becoming one of them. The Arabian Nights cards were cursed, draining the life from me, turning me into one of the undead.
I tried to run, but my legs wouldn’t obey. My body felt heavy, sluggish, as if it were already succumbing to the rot. Desperation clawed at my mind as I stumbled out of the shop, the whispers of the dead following me into the night.
I reached out to friends and family, desperate for help, but no one believed me. They couldn’t find any record of The VML. It didn’t exist on Google Maps, and no one had ever heard of it. They thought I was losing my mind, that the stress of work and my obsession with the game were taking their toll. But I knew the truth. The shop was real, and it was killing me.
With every passing day, my condition worsened. My skin, now gray and lifeless, peeled away in larger chunks. My bones ached, and my movements became stiff and labored. I felt the decay spreading, consuming me from the inside out. The faces of the undead players haunted my dreams, their hollow eyes a constant reminder of what I was becoming.
In a final act of desperation, I returned to The VML one last time. The shop was dark and silent, but I could feel the presence of the undead lurking within. I knew it was my only chance to escape the curse. With trembling hands, I gathered the cursed Arabian Nights cards and set them ablaze in the parking lot, hoping to sever the connection that was draining my life.
As the flames consumed the cards, I felt a searing pain course through my body. I collapsed to the ground, writhing in agony as the darkness threatened to swallow me whole. But then, miraculously, the pain began to subside. The whispers of the dead faded, and I felt a faint glimmer of hope.
I staggered to my feet, my body weak and ravaged, but still alive. I had narrowly escaped the clutches of The VML, but the damage was done. My skin was still gray and lifeless, my pulse a distant memory. I knew I was beyond medical help, my body too far gone to be saved.
Now, as I write this, I can feel the decay spreading once more. My narrow escape bought me time, but the curse still lingers, slowly consuming me. I am racing against time, searching for a way to break the curse, to stop the transformation. But deep down, I know it’s too late. The VML has claimed me, just as it has claimed so many before.
If you ever find yourself in that forgotten corner of the rural California desert, and you see the sign for The VML, I beg you: turn away. Do not step inside. For once you do, there is no escape from the curse that lies within.

2024.06.02 10:16 Chopinhour1 How to know if you got the right ritalin dosage?

Im a student (21) in Europe and was recently diagnosed with ADD (ADHD-I), which explains a lot. Decided to test after my father was diagnosed with autism and adhd (which explains A LOT).
Got ritalin for studying and it’s honestly insane how I can now study for 2 hours in one go. My studying used to be extremely sporadic, 5mins there, 10 there, 2 there because I constantly felt the need to go “do something else”.
I got the 20mg ritalin modified release which I used for a month or so, but I also got the 30mg modified release prescribed because I had to experiment with the meds a bit. Im wondering how to get the dosage “right”. Been on the 30’s for a couple of days now and I feel sort of “wired up” and focus maybe to much? I also feel it working off a lot more which is pretty weird. The days also fly by. But it’s still just the first couple of days of taking it, so that might change.
The 20 sometimes felt like ‘not enough’ because I didn’t really feel it but It worked. The 30 I really ‘feel’ being on it. The loss of apetite more, and the ‘crash’ is more noticable.
But the thing Is I make myself crazy and when I know switch back to the twenty I will placebo myself into thinking it’s not enough and all those kinds of things. While writing this it seems pretty obvious what to do actually but still wan’t to here what u guys have to say.
Also, damn, still blown away that I can study for a couple of hours or even an hour without losing focus. Life changing.

2024.06.02 09:59 vladdyp93 I need advice on home buying! All input is greatly appreciated

This is my first home I (31M) am attempting to buy. I live in Southern California in the Coachella Valley, where real estate is inexpensive compared to the rest of the state. The market here is not red hot anymore, but definitely warm (houses are sitting on the market for 30 days or so). I have all funding secured for an FHA 3.5 percent down loan and underwritten. My goal is to keep my savings account in tact by negotiate closing costs on offers. The reason for this is I received a life changing promotion 6 months ago and my annual income jumped from 100k to 250k. My savings went from 5k to 50k in that 6 months. I don’t want to wait any longer for a home as I now have a newborn daughter and our apartment feels really small all of a sudden. I want to secure a home asap and have a great real estate agent.
I was in escrow 2 weeks ago for a property but the inspection turned up a ton wrong, so I pulled out of it. Tried offering full price 445k on another home with 5% closing costs as a concession Friday, seller said no, so I didn’t negotiate further because it was a good home but not the perfect one. I figured I would wait for my dream home to hit the market before making another offer… figured it could take months.
Today, my dream home hit the market. Right at my ideal price point, right in the neighborhood I want to live. It’s listed at 450k. Here’s my question, I REALLY want the house! My goal is to move in only putting the 3.5 percent down, so ideally I will ask for 5%($22,500) towards closing costs.
Should I skip the negotiating BS and just offer them 472,500 for the house with 5% towards closing? That ends up being the 450k they are asking for and they aren’t selling at a discount, just making my move in cheaper. Is it better to do this than offer 450k and 5 percent closing? Should I start there then move to the 472,500 if they counter? Will the appraisal screw this up and eat my savings anyway? I do feel it’s undervalued slightly compared to neighboring homes. I really really don’t want to mess this up. I want this house and can beat everyone to making an offer as it was just put on the market today. Should I write a heartfelt letter to the seller talking about my new family and how we are locals looking for our first home or is that a bad idea? I want to make this work. Please advise!

2024.06.02 09:54 Pristine_Relative_13 Doctors can’t figure it out

I have this chronic issue where I’ll feel as if I’m being pricked with a pin. It occurs all over my body - head to toe. Sometimes multiple places at once. Usually last in one spot for 10-30 seconds. Sometimes they’re quite painful but mostly pretty mild.
The only thing that I’ve noticed helps it seems to be maintaining very high levels of vitamin B12. I eat meat, lots of veggies, gluten and dairy free. Test for pernicious anemia was “non-conclusive”… so guessing i probably have that?
Got an MRI and it was normal.
I’m female, 30, have hashimotos. All my doctors are stumped. It’s getting worse and the high B12 isn’t cutting it anymore….

2024.06.02 09:54 magraoel7 Trying to understad the body language of my sister's friend

A few weeks ago my middle sister came to visit me with her friend, I live with my mother and my younger sister
Her friend is really pretty and extroverted, according to my sister, she only dated one guy and got quite traumatized with the relationship, with made her not want to date anyone else anymore.
Later at that night, while we were having dinner, my mother started saying she was beautiful and asking her some personal questions, like if she planned to have kids in the near future, she said she never wants kids, but could change her mind after 35 (she is 25 now btw).
But let's talk about her body language, which made me a bit confused...
They stayed for 7 days, and one thing I noticed is that she constantly avoided eye contact with me when we were talking with each other, she would either look somewhere else or look at my sister, but for a few moments when I was paying attention to my sister or my mother talking, I could noticed that she quickly looked at me. She also never said my name, always asking my sister like "does he want a gum?", instead of offering me directly, but that's ok I guess since we don't have any intimacy.
In one moment though, I was right at her side and instead of asking directly to me, she looked at my sister asking her to ask to me, even my sister said: "Why don't you ask to him? He is just at your side"
I was wondering if I made something to make her feel uncomfortable or she just didn't like me, anyway, my younger sister heard mother talking with the girl saying how me and her would be a great couple and that I never had a girlfriend (yes, my mother actually thought this was a great thing to say...), and the girl said she wasn't looking for a relationship right now, but could change her mind later.
According to my sister, she only had this one boyfriend (who traumatized her, treating her badly), and that a lot of guys give her gifts but she doesn't want anyone
Another thing is that every time my sister came to talk to me in my room, she would come together, sometimes just to stay there, then she started showing me her own pictures in her cellphone, comparing and asking in which one she looked better, showing her with different hair and showing her family
In another moment, while she was talking with my younger sister about relationships, she started talking about age gaps, she said she would date someone up to 29 years old, but said 32 would be too old for her (I am 30 btw, and I was right at her side, don't know if it meant anything)
Anyway, she gave me 2 hugs before they left and a few days later I followed her in Instagram, she followed me back but didn't show much interest when I messaged her, I asked what she thought about the city and other stuff, she didn't respond for 2 days and I deleted the message thinking I was bothering her, but she noticed it and apologized saying she was busy, I then just said some more stuff, gave a goodbye and stopped talking with her.
Based on all that, what can be said about her body language? Did she show any interest on me, or was just avoiding me to not give the wrong impression?
Despite her being very attractive, can't say I am really interested in her, we have a few things in common but I am introverted and she is very extroverted, my younger sister says we matched each other, but I don't think so.
Anyway, I am just asking because her behavior was quite weird sometimes, also think it's an opportunity to understand women's body language better, I admit I am terrible at it, in the past I had girls who were interested in me, but I couldn't notice until it was too late, and girls I thought were interested, but were not.

2024.06.02 09:49 Forward-Crab-7752 AITA For not listening to my cousin’s advice about the management of my finances and relationships?

Good day everyone. I’m (30 yo) an independent woman, have been married (Also 30 yo) for 6 months through an arranged marriage. I’ll confess that I was very reluctant about getting married at first, especially after observing all the failed marriages of most of my cousins, however, I got lucky as my husband is the best partner one could have. He had always treated me like his queen, supporting me and my dreams.
We were a big joint family of eight until I was 5 and my dad transferred out to another city. Before that, it had always been my 5-years older cousin who had been the one who raised me and babysat me most of the time, as my mum, being the only housewife, took care of the whole family. She is the elder daughter of my paternal uncle and the eldest of all my paternal cousins, let's call her B. I am the only child of my parents. My dad had six siblings, though my uncle and dad were the only ones who stayed together until my dad’s transfer, that’s why we were so close.
B had always been domineering in nature, but it never bothered me as I tend to be very laid back. She would always find me ‘too generous’ and ‘too lazy and incompetent’, as I’ve sometimes made the mistake of confessing about sharing my lunch and occasionally some money from my allowance with some of my poor classmates, scolding me and saying that I have no regards for budgets. I used to get upset but tried my best to ignore her as my parents told me I did nothing wrong when B complained to them, and my mum even started giving me extra lunch to share. I started keeping a polite distance out of respect that she raised me until I was 5, and was a decent company when she was not scolding me for always wasting my allowances. She had also been a vehement support when I protested against my wedding. She even somehow found out about several debts and loans of my in-laws and protested against my wedding to that family, though my parents didn't listen to her. I had always thought she was looking after my future and thought nothing about it. She even supported me when I said I didn't want any kids, saying if I wanted to play with any kids, I was welcome to spend time with her son. Her son is 8 years old, studying in a boarding school, and I pay for his schools.
After marriage, I’ve discovered my FIL took many loans in my husband’s name, after lying to him and saying it was for the treatment of my terminally ill MIL, who died 5 months before our wedding. Then we found out FIL had been cheating and my husband cut his relationship with him. I suggested taking some of his loans, to reduce his financial loads and close them ASAP, as we were planning to buy a house next year.
In the last family union, B pulled me apart and started asking about my savings and how much I had saved up. I, being forgetful in nature, thought nothing of it as she tends to do that sometimes; and told her that I just went through the biggest event of my life, so I don't have anything saved now. Arguments spiked as she started listing how much I spent on everything for my wedding and that it had been 6 months, so I must have started to have a decent amount as my salary was high enough (Yes, she kept a list of everything). In the heat of the moment, I accidentally blurted out about helping my husband with his loans. At that time, B completely lost her mind and started yelling at me. That's when I learned that she somehow found out that I had also been financially helping my other cousin’s education after his dad, my maternal uncle, went bankrupt. She kept accusing me of being spendthrift, having no regard for my money and always being reckless. It really hurt me, as I know I am not a spendthrift, I don't waste my money on useless shopping or other things. My only addiction is buying books, nothing else!
In the middle of her tirades, my husband came and told me that my mum was asking for me, pretending to not hear anything but I know he heard everything, as he somehow has developed an extra sense when it comes to me and notices everything. I was ashamed and angry, on the verge of crying, but we didn't speak about it.
Later my husband kept asking questions and finally learned everything about her. Then he asked whether she wished that I wouldn't get married or have any kids so all my money and property would go to her son.
I never thought about it before, I didn't even want to think like that about her... but it makes sense. Could that be the reason, or is she just looking after me? Please let me know!

Do I have the legal grounds to dispute the new terms and pay my current rental rate for the next term since they failed to inform us before May 1st? (My lease ends June 30, we got the letter May 28)

I lost 80 pounds over the last 2 years and got fit and kinda turned my whole life around.
Here's some things I've noticed:
I've gained 16 pounds. (I'm eating like crazy, lost my discipline) I don't want to go to the gym every day anymore. I just want to eat all the time. I want to just lay around in bed. I feel sort of empty, but it's not bad. Dry mouth, especially when waking up. I work in food. It's hectic as hell. I'm chill now (We're all angry people) I'm pretty unbothered by most things. I feel extremely lazy. Sometimes I have to try extremely hard to finish with my girlfriend - I have like a 4+ hour window before I can again, but I want to.
I don't think I even need it anymore, or even know if it kicked in yet? I've always lived with anxiety and not managing my depression symptoms. It's like I'm guilt free depressed now. I don't have my anxiety to kick my ass into doing everything I need to do and my executive dysfunction from adhd is in control.

Weird rash on hands
I have these weird non itchy/painful red spots on my hands. I noticed they're only located right below joints but don't know why. They definitely don't feel like blisters. I have a history of eczema if that helps. I work in a kitchen and wear gloves for about 7-8 hours a day. Does anyone know what it could be?

2024.06.02 09:21 Ok_Break855 Transfer Units

Hey guys! I’m a new grad RN and I’m wanting to transfer from my unit to a clinic. The clinic would still be under the hospital I work for, and I’m having a difficult time deciding. I don’t know if I should quit and then try and come back because the transfer process is so difficult! They want you to be in your unit for a year, but I don’t want to stay in my unit that long. I’m not happy on my unit and I’m becoming ill the more I go to work. Has anyone ever found it easy to quit a hospital but to come back for a different position? I’m not sure how long, I would have to wait until I tried to apply for that position. I would leave in good standing of course, give a 30 day notice or whatever they want.

Over the past few weeks, I've been using the Wayne Water Systems WSB1275 battery in my basement sump pump. This maintenance-free, sealed lead-acid battery pack has made my life easier and more worry-free, thanks to its 75Ah capacity and 12V voltage. With its handles making it easy to move around, I am now free from the hassle of constantly monitoring and maintaining the battery levels.
One of the most impressive features of this battery is the consistent power supply it provides, ensuring that my backup sump pump remains ready to kick in at a moment's notice. This reliable performance has given me peace of mind, especially during the recent storms that have brought about power outages in my area. The battery also charges quickly, so I'm always prepared for any situation.
However, there is one drawback I've encountered. While the battery works reliably, the instructions provided for installation are quite complicated and could have been simplified. Additionally, I did notice that the battery's capacity can sometimes be slightly less than advertised, which might require an adjustment in your expectations.
In summary, the Wayne Water Systems WSB1275 battery offers a top-quality, reliable solution for my basement sump pump needs. With its impressive charging capabilities and consistent power supply, I highly recommend this product for anyone looking for a reliable and easy-to-use battery pack for their sump pump system.

I recently tried the Thunderbolt Magnum 12V 160 CCA AGM Battery, and I must say, it has some impressive features. What stood out to me is the rugged design and the versatile top-mounted terminals that make it a suitable choice for various generators, including those made by Predator.
While using this battery, I found it to be quite efficient in providing constant voltage input, which is crucial for an electric start generator. It successfully powered both my generator and an ATV without any issues. The battery's compact size made it convenient to install and mount on the generator.
However, one downside I encountered was the reversed polarity terminals. It took me a bit of time to figure out the issue during installation. Additionally, some customers mentioned facing difficulty in finding replacements for this battery, as most other units do not fit the same specifications.
Overall, the Thunderbolt Magnum 12V 160 CCA AGM Battery has proven to be a reliable and functional option for powering electric start generators. But be aware of the possible reversed polarity terminals and the difficulty in finding compatible replacements.

Imagine a situation where you're stuck on the side of the road, and your car isn't starting. You pull out a small device, no bigger than a pencil box, and within minutes, your car roars to life. That's the magic of a portable jump starter.
The Mighty Max Battery 12V 22Ah is a versatile device that serves as a replacement for your Die Hard Portable Jump Starter. It's a maintenance-free 12V 22AH Sealed Lead Acid battery, known for its spill-proof nature and high discharge rate. This battery is designed to handle a wide range of temperatures, making it suitable for use in both high and low temperatures.
One of the most impressive things about this battery is its ability to resist shocks and vibration. It can be mounted in any position, making it a convenient option for those who are always on the move. And let's not forget the bonus of having a long service life and the ability to recover from deep discharge situations, which is particularly useful in emergency situations.
Now, let's talk about my personal experience with the Mighty Max Battery. I've used it to jump-start my car during a surprise power outage, and it worked like a charm. It's compact, which made it easy to store in my glove compartment, and it fits perfectly into the port on my Die Hard jump starter.
However, there were a few drawbacks. The product doesn't come with a wire harness or mounting accessories, which means you'll have to purchase those separately if you don't already have them. Additionally, the battery's weight might be a concern for some, but for me, it wasn't a deal-breaker.
Overall, the Mighty Max Battery 12V 22Ah is a powerful and reliable option for anyone in need of a portable jump starter. I've been using the Schumacher DSR ProSeries Jump Starter in my daily life for a few months now, and I must say it's been quite the reliable companion. When I needed to jumpstart my car the other day, it took me just a few minutes to get everything connected and running smoothly. The 525 cranking amps and 350 cold cranking amps really make a difference in those crucial moments.
One thing that really stood out to me was the easy-to-read digital display and ON/OFF switch. They made it easy for me to keep track of the battery life and to ensure I wasn't draining it unnecessarily. However, I did notice that the 60-inch cable length wasn't quite long enough to reach my car when it was parked in the driveway, so I had to make a few adjustments.
I particularly appreciate Schumacher's safety features like the reverse hook-up safeguard alarm, which makes sure that the clamps are connected to the battery correctly. Having this safety feature has given me peace of mind when jumpstarting my car or helping friends in need.
This jump starter is well-built and seems to be quite durable. It's a little bit heavy to carry around, but it's certainly sturdy enough to handle the job. The 2.1-amp USB port and 12V DC outlet added bonus features that I've come to appreciate during my camping trips and other outdoor activities.
In conclusion, I highly recommend the Schumacher DSR ProSeries Jump Starter. It has proven to be an invaluable addition to my daily life, and I know I can always count on it when I need to get my car back up and running.

The battery is classified for OE fit and runs on a wide range of watts, making it versatile for different audio setups.
However, the packaging of the battery wasn't as satisfactory. The battery box came damaged and there were instances where the label peeled off. As far as the terminal hardware, it seems some customers found it missing from their package.
Despite those minor issues, I'm still impressed with this battery's performance. It's durable, reliable, and has definitely elevated the audio quality of my ride. Overall, I would say it's a great power source for any serious audio setup.

Firstly, the AGM Super Cycle technology is truly remarkable. Unlike traditional batteries, these super cycle batteries can handle occasional or frequent partial discharges without any issues. Their smaller size and reduced weight make them an attractive choice for those who are particular about the battery size.
However, there are a few drawbacks that I noticed too. While the battery is designed to prevent sulfation during deep discharge, one has to be careful with frequent deep discharges, as it could reduce the battery's life span. Also, the slightly higher voltage during recharge can strain some battery connections.
Overall, I am quite impressed with this battery's performance. It has proven to be reliable, easy to use, and quite efficient, even with the occasional drawbacks.

The sturdiness of the battery was also impressive. It had a nice heavy case that gave me confidence in the battery's durability. The cords were long and easy to manage, which was a nice bonus when I needed to reach the back of my vehicle.

Another aspect I appreciate is the significant reduction in sulfation during deep discharge, thanks to new additives in the electrolyte. However, I have noticed that the weight of this battery seems to be fractionally more compared to its standard Victron counterparts.
In terms of downsides, the battery's dimensions and weight are slightly larger and heavier than the standard Deep Cycle AGM batteries, which might be a concern for those with limited storage space or weight restrictions. The spill-proof feature is a welcomed addition as well, ensuring that my device never gets damaged due to accidents.
That being said, there are a couple of minor downsides to this product. One of them is the weight; it is a bit on the heavier side, which may pose inconvenience when transporting it. Additionally, while the battery offers a decent amount of capacity, the performance under heavy load conditions can be somewhat inconsistent at times.
In summary, the Mighty Max battery, despite its minor flaws, has been a reliable and long-lasting addition to my device setup. Its portability could be improved slightly, but overall, I am quite pleased with my purchase.

2024.06.02 09:12 Humble_Collar3574 My review of the Galaxy Fit3 after a month of daily usage.

So, here is my review regarding the Galaxy Fit3 after 1 month of rough usage.
Pros:
  1. The design is really great, with that AMOLED display, it's gorgeous.
  2. Comfortable to wear, though initially I felt the strap mechanism a bit awkward, but I adjusted myself to it.
  3. It's very bright and it has auto brightness.
  4. The user interface is very very fluid, with 60hz refresh rate, I never felt it lagged.
  5. There are plenty of workout modes that are goal based, which I like, also you can change the workout screen.
  6. The step tracking is also accurate. Though the step sync issue with Samsung Health app is not fixed~
  7. No doubt regarding the accuracy of heart rate during normal time or during workouts. It detects immediete spike in heart rate almost instantly and again, it's at par with my dad's Fitbit too.
  8. Though the first week after purchasing, the sleep tracking was terrible, it used to stop monitoring sleep in the middle of night for like 30-45 minutes but, after the update, sleep tracking is good and consistent in terms of sleep stage tracking. It detects falling asleep time and wake up time almost perfectly (compared it with fitbit). Also the sleep stages are almost matching to the fitbit. But there is a catch; it tends to detect more awake moments than actual, like it detects every single movement during sleep as awake, when I change my sleeping position, which I felt should not be considered as awake since you change your sleeping position when you are asleep too. This is somewhat annoying and they should fix this.
  9. Distance tracking is accurate, when I tested it with the treadmill, with an error of +- 50-100 meters.
  10. It has sleep coaching, which I found to be interesting.
  11. Many other features like you can set alarms directly on band and it also shows the alarms you have added in your phone.
  12. Media controller works flawlessly.
  13. It has heart rate zones, which I love.
  14. It has inactivity reminders, which is helpful for me.
  15. Blood Oxygen monitoring is accurate and it does track during sleep, which can be helpful for some people, but it consumes a lot of juice.
Cons:
  1. The battery~ what should I say, never lasted beyond a week, maximum it lasts 5-6 days with sleep tracking and blood O2 during sleep turned off, and without sleep tracking, it does last 7 days though, but still it's pretty bad (I don't use AOD). Before the update, it used to drain overnight, the nights when I don't track my sleep, it drains 5-6 % without any reason, but it seems that it has been fixed.
  2. The most wierd thing I noticed that, it does not remind me to drink water until I connect my phone via bluetooth, very irritating like why?
  3. We can't set high heart rate alert during workout- to remind us that heart rate is very high and slow down, it's a small feature, but its very useful and important too. Come on Samsung, basic feature.
  4. Like I said above, it tends to detect so many awake moments.
Those were my observations after using it for a month, what are your thoughts?

2024.06.02 09:07 Progressive-Change How do I make a choice? I want to move to California, Oregon or Washington but I don't know how to narrow it down.

I don't know what to ask or what to search up to understand the differences. I know they are all about the same when it comes to politics but what else? Will I expect the same experiences living in each state or will it be noticable? I live in NC for reference and I hate it here. Too many drug overdoes and shootouts and sad and angry people. The PAVE act which was recently passed I hate with a burning passion as well. It reminds me of when I had an iphone and their saftey nonsense. It's like some big brother dystopian crap. VPN's are useful but it makes me feel like I live in China or something with censorship and that's not the free country of America that I know.
You could say that I fully express my 1st amendment right but people here who think backwards see it differently. Meanwhile, the south steadily tops the list as #1 for teenage pregancies and LGBTQ discrimination and they activley try to push that type of education out of schools and I hate that boomer ass thinking. I'm not about being around people that are not open-minded and accepting and willing to change. A majority of red states just straight up deny everything and never say that there are any problems at all with anything and they play the blame game on those "libtard states" (eg California), especially Louisiana and Alabama and other deep deep southern states with their high murder rates and poverty and their wealth inequality and such. Monkey see no evil, monkey hear no evil, monkey speak no evil type stuff.
True, it's cheap to live there in those states but you really are cutting yourself short on just about everything else just to save yourself a few dollars. Now I don't mind living in a cheap area in one of those 3 states that I mentioned and it would do me wonders if I could find that place. I'm just worried about my commute to work and if it's going to be too far of a drive. I can at max drive maybe an hour or 2? Any more than that and I will just be wasting my sleeping time because I'm on the road trying to get home and back and fourth.
Right now I make $24 an hour at my job and it's full time Monday through Friday and where I live has a cost of living score of 70 (30% below national average of 100) which is meh but it's affordable. I'd like to be somewhere that has a cost of living of somewhere in the 70's and even the 80's if need be but nowhere over 100 like Los Angeles which has a cost of living score of 161 (61 times more expensive than the national average of 100 to live there).
I don't mind living in small cities or smaller towns even. I'm not looking for a fancy getaway place. I won't even mind living in a ghost town. I just want to make sure that where I live isn't too far away from a job which supports me, that's all. I work in construction and I cut grass and do manual labor and I work on cars and I weld and do stuff like that so maybe I can find work anywhere, who knows.
I want to see what Leavenworth, Washington is all about and Paulsbo but those are not really livable towns as they are more tourist attractions so it won't feel like an authentic small town experience. I do like culture though which is why I mentioned those places. I like to explore old ghost towns and metal detect which is why I mentioned ghost towns too. The mountains I really enjoy also with the snow on top but I don't mind being around joshua, juniper or redwood trees. I'm just a little iffy about living on a flat ground desert where it stays 100%+ degrees all day and you're sweating to death. I do like riding my bicycle though and walking so anywhere I can take a hike or walk through town even would be nice. I don't mind the beach either but that's like LA and I don't have LA money.
Any advice or suggestions? Thanks

2024.06.02 09:06 Ornery-Acanthaceae94 My crushed used to be my stalker

My crush used to stalk me for an year. I m (f) i always wondered whether he will make the move...so i texted him for New Eve. He sent me a gif.
We had the strange pattern to always look at the eyes of each other when we met somewhere. Intensivly. For minutes. Without saying a word.
I have eye sight problems so i started walking past him without realising it. At some point i noticed this pattern and that he looks me with anger in his eyes.
So i texted him again. Apologising for this and explaining my problem.
The next day we "incedently" met around my work. We were 30 sm apart, walking next to each other down the street. I looked at him and he tried his best to looks like i dont exist.
I walked past him. I understood that he rejected me.
The same night i explain the whole story to a friend. Explained how i wanted him. How i didnt met to ignore him and at some point i said If he wanted...we would...and that i dont want to see him anymore. At this moment i noticed someone walking behind us... u guessed it. It was him. Hearing all of this.
His face was full of anger. It was literally twitching. He looked like he was about to start shauting.
He walked past by us.
Now when we meet he hides if i see him. If i act that i dont see him he stares.
I m really confused.
I m 23 he is 31.
