Important! How do changes to settlement apply to upcoming test takers
Hello everyone! March 28th seems to have sooner than I thought as FINRA has proposed these changes for quite awhile For example, I am a full time series 7 study taker and taking my exam this summer which makes the changes perplexing. I have an interest in reading almost every regulatory notice that FINRA or a regulator throws on the industry and proposed to change settlement cycles to simply a day from two days (which only typically applies to stocks and related securities, but even in the SEC report has stated the word “most” securities are settlement in two days). A pet peeve of studying the industry may be the ongoing vagueness in rules. Regardless these can be found in finra ruling coincidentally around a year ago approving the change to change settlement to simply one day.
The finra ruling i posted as the first picture and the second is the sec recently finally saying that what used old is out and now officially one day settlement applies. The second source showing also how it was in their eyes perhaps open ended since the start of the article says the now traditional settlement that effected “most” broker dealer transactions. And as I edit this (sorry new to Reddit) I can only post one link but the article is found on the investor alert dated march 23 this year which starts with the sec adopting rule as proposed February 13 2023 and the compliance date (whatever that means) to shorten cycle as of march 18 2024)
How does this affect people like me now when you think this further. As my exam is this summer am I to assume the traditional settlement or not. There are areas where us test takers have to probably worry more about if finra will go as far as to make questions regarding concepts such a computing municipal bonds sold between interest payments or perhaps option exercise) Also I do feel as a common mis conception that It’s overall a small test point and that the change is effecting I believe just settlement as in securities being settled, but the reg t extension is the usual cushion as always and we all know when the light and hadow cross it’s more the customer are given roughly a max of three or four days after the trade to give their broker the cash amount or else! Maybe an extension could apply…anyways please share any comments opinions and suggestions on how or if this will change the series 7 exam in anyway. We all are in this together !

Scheduled to kick off on June 2, 2024, at 16:45 EDT, this match promises to be a thrilling encounter. But who will emerge victorious? Let's dive into the nitty-gritty details, statistics, and odds to make an informed prediction. Spoiler alert: it's going to be a wild ride!

Team Overview

Atlanta United FC

Atlanta United FC, the home team, has been a force to reckon with in the MLS. Known for their aggressive playstyle and a knack for scoring goals, they are the favorites in this matchup. According to DraftKings, the odds for Atlanta United FC to win are 1.74, which translates to a roughly 57.5% chance of victory[1\.)

Key Players

  1. Josef Martinez: The Venezuelan striker has been a goal-scoring machine for Atlanta. With 15 goals in the current season, he is the player to watch.
  2. Ezequiel Barco: The Argentine midfielder has been instrumental in creating scoring opportunities, boasting 10 assists so far.
  3. Miles Robinson: The American defender has been a rock at the back, making crucial interceptions and tackles.

Charlotte FC

On the other side, we have Charlotte FC, the underdogs with odds of 4.2, giving them a 23.8% chance of winning[1\.) While they may not have the same star power as Atlanta, they have shown resilience and the ability to pull off surprises.

Key Players

  1. Karol Świderski: The Polish forward has been the top scorer for Charlotte, with 10 goals this season.
  2. Sergio Ruiz: The Spanish midfielder has been the engine of the team, contributing with both goals and assists.
  3. Christian Fuchs: The veteran Austrian defender brings experience and leadership to the backline.

Head-to-Head Statistics

When it comes to head-to-head encounters, Atlanta United FC has had the upper hand. In their last five meetings, Atlanta has won three, Charlotte has won one, and one match ended in a draw. This historical dominance gives Atlanta a psychological edge going into this match.

Tactical Analysis

Atlanta United FC

Atlanta United FC typically lines up in a 4-3-3 formation, focusing on high pressing and quick transitions. Their attacking trio, led by Josef Martinez, is lethal on the counter-attack. The midfield, orchestrated by Ezequiel Barco, is adept at controlling the tempo and creating scoring opportunities.

Charlotte FC

Charlotte FC, on the other hand, prefers a more conservative 4-4-2 formation. They rely on solid defensive organization and look to exploit set-pieces and counter-attacks. Karol Świderski is their main target man, and the team often looks to him to convert chances.

Odds and Betting Analysis

The odds provided by DraftKings are quite telling. Atlanta United FC is the clear favorite with odds of 1.74, while Charlotte FC is the underdog at 4.2. The draw is priced at 3.75[1\.) These odds suggest that the bookmakers have a lot of faith in Atlanta's ability to secure a win.

Weather Conditions

The weather forecast for June 2, 2024, in Atlanta is partly cloudy with a high of 78°F (25.5°C) and a low of 65°F (18.3°C). These conditions are ideal for a high-tempo game, which suits Atlanta United FC's style of play. Charlotte FC, used to similar weather, won't be at a significant disadvantage, but the home crowd and familiar conditions give Atlanta an edge.

Prediction

Based on the odds, team form, head-to-head statistics, and weather conditions, it is reasonable to predict that Atlanta United FC will win this match. Their attacking prowess, combined with Charlotte FC's inconsistent form, makes Atlanta the safer bet.

Final Score Prediction

Atlanta United FC 3 - 1 Charlotte FC

Conclusion

In conclusion, while Charlotte FC has the potential to cause an upset, all signs point to an Atlanta United FC victory. From their superior squad depth to their favorable odds and historical dominance, Atlanta seems poised to take all three points. So, if you're a betting person, you might want to put your money on Atlanta United FC. And if you're just here for the drama, sit back, relax, and enjoy what promises to be an exciting match!

2024.06.02 09:55 AdInteresting2401 Sick through meditation? - German media

For some, intensive meditation can cause mental suffering. The predominantly positive image of meditation makes it difficult for those affected to be heard in the event of side effects, as SWR research shows.
By Linda Huber, SWR
Millions of people in Germany meditate regularly. The offerings range from apps and online courses to meditation in studios and multi-day retreats. According to a Statista Consumer Survey, almost one in four people between the ages of 18 and 64 have a meditation app on their cell phone. A Buddhist tradition has long since become a mass phenomenon and the market for mindfulness is booming, with meditation often being praised as a cure for stress and mental health problems. However, recent scientific studies show that intensive meditation can also trigger serious psychological side effects. This side effect is often ignored or trivialized, as research by the investigative format Vollbild revealed.
One in ten meditators suffers from side effects
In a ten-year long-term study, US psychologist Willoughby Britton from Brown University was able to prove that around one in ten meditators develop side effects that severely restrict them in their everyday life. According to Britton, anxiety, traumatic flashbacks and hypersensitivity are the most common side effects of meditation. German studies also point to undesirable side effects of meditation: a study by a working group at Charité Berlin found that a total of 22 percent of 1,397 meditating test subjects had undesirable effects. Of these, around nine percent were classified as mild and temporary, while 13 percent had moderate to extreme adverse effects that required treatment, were permanent or even required hospitalization.
Negative effects often underestimated
Research on meditation over the past 20 years has mostly shown positive effects such as the reduction of stress or depression. Psychologist Britton criticizes the research on contemplative practices and points out that the negative effects of meditation are often underestimated.
In Germany, the first contact point for victims of meditation side effects has been open for two years at the Institute for Frontier Areas of Psychology and Mental Hygiene in Freiburg. Psychologists Ulrich Ott and Liane Hofmann set up the contact point. They report that the consultation hours are already very popular and that the level of suffering of many of those affected is high. The psychologists suspect a high number of unreported cases and assume that there is a great need for counseling in Germany.
Panic attacks, hospitalization, suicide after meditation
Fullscreen has spoken to several people who have developed severe psychological problems after intensive meditation and had to be treated in a clinic. A 26-year-old student from Wiesbaden describes how he developed panic attacks after intensive meditation with an app and had to be treated in a clinic. A 28-year-old doctoral student from Düsseldorf reports that she developed delusions after an intensive retreat and had to be hospitalized, while a particularly drastic case from Canada shows extreme consequences: A young woman left a ten-day meditation retreat early and took her own life. Her mother reports that her daughter already felt unwell during the retreat. When asked, the meditation center explained that it was deeply saddened by the tragic incident. Teachers are trained to recognize signs of mental imbalance, and students are not asked to continue meditating if they are in distress.
Responsibility seen in meditators
The predominantly positive image of meditation often means that those affected have difficulty being heard and understood when side effects occur, and that providers often see meditators as being responsible.
US researcher Britton also observes this: "Blaming the victim is probably the most common reaction. It comes in many different varieties." It is often said that the person has already brought the problems with them. The retreat or the provider are therefore not responsible. Or the person has meditated incorrectly. "The normal meditation teacher wants to be helpful, and then to hear that you have caused harm is a very difficult kind of feedback," says Britton.
The psychologists Ott and Hofmann criticize the fact that meditation providers often deny responsibility for possible side effects: "It is of course also the responsibility of the providers to check in advance whether the people are mentally healthy, whether they are stable and not to deny all responsibility with such a disclaimer," says Ott. However, the offers often state: "Participation at your own risk. This clearly places the responsibility on the participants," says Ott.
No mandatory training, no monitoring
How little attention is paid to risks is also shown by an undercover investigation: in a self-experiment, Vollbild asked around 20 meditation providers for a course and stated that the supposed interested party had mental health problems. Only a few advised her to consult a doctor or therapist beforehand. The providers' websites did not provide any information on the risks and side effects of meditation in advance. In Germany, there is the Association of Mindfulness Teachers with eight training institutes and around 1,000 mindfulness teachers. According to full-screen research, undesirable side effects of meditation are an issue in training here. However, the training is voluntary. Anyone who wants to can offer meditation. There are no controls. This is another reason why many meditation teachers are apparently overwhelmed by the psychological damage and side effects of meditation.

Comments to the video:
"The fact that meditation or Buddhist practice in general (not just sitting) has dark sides has always been described. In Buddhist sutras, entire texts are dedicated to the spiritual decline of some practitioners. In Zen, "meditation sickness" is a well-known term, as is "lung" in Tibetan Buddhism. Various studies prove that there are often psychological problems, especially during intensive meditation sessions. For example, one psychologist describes that deprivatized sitting without movement can stress the neurons to such an extent that psychosis-like states can be reached. If you need help or would like more information on the possible symptoms and side effects (based on scientific data), please visit Cheetah House, they can also help those affected. What Micki describes at the beginning is also something that I consider extremely dangerous, if any teacher says to you "you have to go through this", then you should distance yourself as quickly as possible. Meditation should never be associated with thoughts of self-optimization or the desire for eternal happiness, in Zen they say "Zen brings nothing", or you could say, seek neither happiness nor unhappiness, only in this way can an authentic path be realized, with in my opinion clearly more serenity. Unfortunately, it is not without reason that many practitioners have been saying for a long time that 80 percent of Buddhist offerings are not authentic. Just look at the charlatans who serve as role models these days: Hinnerk Polenski, Shi Heng Yi, Zensho W Kopp... All people who are self-proclaimed masters."
"Shi Heng Yi has never studied Shaolin Buddhism, but has a martial arts master title under an American, yet the Otterberg Temple claimed to teach people on official behalf of the Henan Mother Temple, the warning then came quickly, officially Shi Heng Yi has recently made the first pin in the Warrior Monk Duan Pin System, so he is at the level of a novice. Nevertheless, he sells books on Zen Buddhism and the like. (Shaolin is Chan, Japanese Zen) and also meditation courses with dubious people for thousands of euros, which of course has nothing to do with Zen or Shaolin. Then Hinnerk, could never prove his mastery, like many others of the controversial Oi Saidan lineage he was only in the monastery for a few weeks. Zensho W Kopp, claims to have received Zen mastery from a teacher, but as I said, this man is only a teacher and not a master and therefore cannot confer mastery, but has never claimed to do so. It is clear that this can only result in spiritual confusion, but people who have no prior knowledge of religious integrity find it difficult to differentiate. In the end, a spiritual ego is built. But that doesn't mean that the “authentic” path isn't full of stumbling blocks. Who wants to let go of their ego? For some it can actually brighten up life again, but I think it is much more difficult to find an authentic guru these days than the danger on the path itself. For Buddhist practice, at least in Zen, sitting meditation is not necessary.
“I do not wash my hands or shave my head, I do not read sutras or observe precepts, I do not burn incense, I do not do sitting meditation, I do not perform memorial ceremonies for a master or Buddha.”
Chin'g gak Kuksa Hyesim (1178-1234)
How about that? :)"

Texting is an essential part of modern dating, and mastering the art of text communication can make a significant difference in how your relationships develop. In this guide, we'll walk you through 9 essential texting tips for dating.
If you want to become a texting pro and ensure your conversations lead to successful dates and deeper connections, check out Magnetic Messaging. It's a comprehensive guide to mastering your text game, even if you've only just met her. You can get Magnetic Messaging here.

1. Start with a Strong Opener

Your first text should be engaging and memorable. Reference something funny or interesting from your initial conversation. For example, "Hey [her name], I had a great time talking about [shared interest] with you. Looking forward to continuing our chat!" This helps her remember you and sets a positive tone for your conversation).

2. Use Proper Grammar and Spelling

Good grammar and spelling matter more than you might think. They make you appear more intelligent and serious about your communication. Avoid using excessive abbreviations and chatspeak, which can be confusing and make a bad impression.

3. Mirror Her Texting Style

Match her texting style in terms of tone, length of messages, and use of emojis. If she uses a lot of emojis, feel free to do the same. If her texts are more formal, adjust your style accordingly. This creates a sense of rapport and makes her feel more comfortable.

4. Keep It Light and Fun

Humor can be a great way to build attraction and make your conversations enjoyable. Share funny anecdotes, jokes, or playful comments that relate to your conversation. Just ensure your humor is in good taste and not at anyone's expense.

5. Ask Open-Ended Questions

To keep the conversation flowing, ask open-ended questions that require more than a yes or no answer. For instance, instead of asking, "Did you have a good day?" try "What was the best part of your day?" This encourages her to share more and keeps the dialogue engaging.

6. Be Present and Engaged

Show genuine interest in what she’s saying. Avoid distractions and focus on her messages. Ask follow-up questions based on her responses to show that you’re truly engaged in the conversation.

7. Avoid Over-Texting

Texting too frequently can make you seem needy or overly eager. Let the conversation flow naturally and give her space to miss you. If she doesn't respond immediately, don’t bombard her with follow-up messages. It's important to respect her time and pace.

8. Know When to End the Conversation

Knowing when to end the conversation can leave her wanting more. Ending on a high note and expressing that you enjoyed chatting can make her look forward to the next conversation. For example, you could say, "I've got to run, but I've really enjoyed chatting with you. Let's catch up again soon!"

9. Suggest Interesting Date Ideas

When you feel the time is right, suggest meeting up. Be creative with your date ideas to make them more appealing. Instead of a generic "wanna hang out?", try something like, "I have two tickets to a stand-up comedy show this Sunday. Care to join me?" or "I really enjoy talking to you. How about we continue the conversation over coffee this weekend?"
By following these tips, you'll be well on your way to mastering the art of texting for dating. 2024.06.02 09:40 AdditionalCompany598 My first poem: In Memory of You

Look upon your feet, behold my heart so torn, By wrathful blows it lies in fragments small. Why were we fated thus to meet at all? And why did time our fleeting joy forsworn?
Why did the cruel hours stretch to such lengths, To sever ties that bound our souls so tight? To ponder this is to confront the night, Epochs of pain that test my spirit’s strength.
As ancient worlds arose in splendour bright, I recollect the day your eyes I met. Now, solitary, in these ruins set, I gaze upon the remnants of that light.
My love for you was marble, pure and grand, Yet I, a novice, could not sculpt your grace. You were a Parthenon, in time’s embrace, Deserving of a master craftsman’s hand.
Forgive these borrowed words of ancient sorrow, Through which my hear’s lament I must convey.
Hello,
I have been working on this for some time now.
I was introduced to the beauty that is poetry through Dante’s prose, which I try to emulate here as a layman - to such an extent that I hesitate to call this an original work. I am simply trying to understand the art and style, and see this as an opportunity for some much needed criticism and insight into the practice.
Thank you.
EDIT: I appear to be unable to properly format the lines in the app.

Row 7 of the Anime All Stars roster has made it's official debut! Originally, I have replaced a Uzui from KNY and Minato from Naruto for another character. Let's see their replacing characters and the new fighters. Since they're new, there is a description on their moves.
Row 7 will now feature the next wave of expansion fighters.
114. Bu-Ling Huang / Mew Pudding (Tokyo Mew Mew)
Neutral: PuRing Ring Warp
Mew Pudding begins to twirl around leaving a trail of yellow pudding which damages the opponent. The move can be charged and does more attack damage if charged. Similar to Pyra's Neutral Special, Flame Nova in Smash.
Side: Ribbon PuRing Swing
Mew Pudding leaps forward and grabs the enemy slapping and punching them. (This is similar to Diddy Kong's Side Special in Smash). Press the button again to cancel the attack.
Up: Jello Trampoline
Mew Pudding will summon a trampoline shaped like jello which bounces her to new heights. it falls if used in the air but sticks if used on the ground. Like Sonic's Spring Jump in Smash.
Down: Jello Prison
Mew Pudding uses her PuRing Rings to play a melody, then unleashes a blast of yellow energy which encases the enemy in a force field similarly shaped like jello.
Final Smash: Ribbon PuRing Ring Inferno
Mew Pudding Mew Pudding performing a series of acrobatic flips, kicks and somersaults before summoning a tambourine and a bell on a ring. She taps them together, performing a melody in the air. Her Mew Mark glows and she brings the instruments down, unleashing a blast of yellow energy which encases the enemy in a force field similarly shaped like jello. The jello force field will then explode launching the opponents captured.
115. Kakashi Hatake (Naruto) (Replacing Uzui)
Neutral: Lightning Blade
Kakashi pulls out a Kunai Spear then runs forward with his right hand shrouded in blue electricity. When they get close enough, they drive their hand into the opponent's middle, blasting them away.
Side: Kamui Shuriken
Kakashi throws a barrage of shuriken at his opponent in a radial pattern, creating an explosion after a second. Charging the technique increases the damage output, even when blocked.
Up: Water Style Geyser
Kakashi erupts the floor with a giant geyser that helps him get lifted up to new heights.
Down: Lightning Style Shadow Clone
Kakashi enters a counter stance where he reads a Make-Out series novel. If the opponent hits them during that time, they fake them out with a Lightning Style Shadow Clone, then they use Earth Style: Mud Wall Jutsu, to lift the opponent up, then finish them with Water Style Giant Vortex Jutsu.
Final Smash: Kamui Lightning Blade
Kakashi pulls out a Kunai and charges a Lightning Blade then rushes at his opponent. If he connects, he launches them up with his attack, activates his Susano'o and obliterate his caught opponent with a stronger Lightning Blade, dubbed the Kamui Lightning Blade.
116. Himura Kenshin (Samurai X/Ruroni Kenshin)
Neutral: Nine-Headed Dragon Flash
Kenshin flies forward while holding a sword. If they connect, blue afterimages follow behind them and strike the opponent, blasting them back.
Side: Kusu-ryusen
Kenshin charges a dash attack. If fully charged, he phases through the enemy which slashes with the kanji showing on the hit opponent. (Similar to Ike's Side Special; Quick Draw in Smash Bros)
Up: Tsui-sho Sen
Kenshin will slash upward. If the button is pressed after the uppercut slash, he will dive downward. The downward slash has a meteor effect.
Down: Counter
Kenshin enters a counter stance. If he gets attacked, he will open his sword and give a payback slash. Depending on how much damage the enemy attack does, Kenshin's counter will give the counter attack a multiply by 1.3%.
Final Smash: Godspeed Flash of the Heavenly Flying Dragon
Kenshin runs at the opponent at high-speed. If they connect, they slash the opponent once to stun them, then charges another to cut them to the floor.
117. Armin Arlert (Attack on Titan)
Neutral: Double Sword Slash
Armin jumps up and slashes down with both Ultrahard steel blades.
Side: Barrel Roll
Armin uses his Ultrahard steel blades to barrel roll. This move is similar to Mii Swordfighter's Airbone Assault move in Smash Bros.
Up: ODM Gear Hook.
Armin will use either one or both wire hooks to help him hook onto the ledge. He can use it on ceiling's, walls, and opponents.
Down: Ultrahard steel blade change.
Armin's Ultrahard steel blades have a durability limit live Steve's tools in Smash Bros. But unlike Steve where the tool's limit are seen when they break, Armin has a gauge telling the sword's durability limit. Some attacks will be less effective without the blades.
Final Smash: Green Smoke Assault.
Armin fires a green smoke shot from his gun to signal five allies to help attack his opponent. One of them is Sasha Braus. After the assault concludes, Armin pulls out a thunder spear to obliterate the opponent.
118. Gray Fullbuster (Fairy Tail)
Neutral: Ice Super Freeze Arrow.
Gray makes a Ice Bow and Arrow from his ice molding magic. It's similar to Byleth's Neutral Special in Smash. Pressing the button does little damage, but holding down will charge up the arrow and pierce through his opponent launching or freezing them. The latter of which will see them frozen in ice. Just like in Smash, the more damage they have, the longer they will stay frozen.
Side: Crescent Blades.
Gray summons crescent like boomerangs that he throws. It's like Min Min's neutral special where she throws Ramram where they return after a brief distance.
Up: Ice Grappling Hook.
Gray makes a grappling hook out of his molding ice which he can use to recover from the stage. It will work like Byleth's Up Special in Smash. If he grabs a curved ceiling, he will jump off of it, and grabbing an opponent will see him propel himself and bounce off their heads with a meteor spike occurring in the process.
Down: Ice Devour.
Just like with Natsu where he eats fire to replenish his power and even heal himself, Gray will open his mouth to try and eat ice attacks. Said ice users like Todoroki (MHA), and Esdeath (Akame Ga Kill), are at a huge disadvantage against Gray. If he eats an ice projectile, he will replenish his Ice Magic and take away some damage.
Final Smash: Lost Ice Shell
Gray will use his finishing attack, Lost Iced Shell where he casts himself in an circular ice shell. However, the shell will break if Gray dosen't capture anyone on the initial hit. But if he does, he freezes them. If they're over 100%, they're chilled to the bone...
119. Rikka Takanashi (Love Chuunibyou and Other Delusions)
Neutral: Umbrella Barrage / Dark Matter Blaze
Umbrella Barrage: Rikka strikes 10 times with an Umbrella. / Dark Matter Blaze: When her Banishment of this World gauge is filled, Rikka fires a huge magical ball that knocks her opponents away.
Side: Slide / Mana Blast
Slide: Rikka slides like Mega Man's down tilt in Smash where she trips her opponent. Leaving them prone to followup attacks. / Mana Blast: When her Banishment of this World gauge is filled, Rikka now fires 3 to 6 energy blasts with little to medium damage and knockback.
Up: Umbrella Leap / Kanntwinkle
Rikka leaps up with her Umbrella which reduces falling like Peach and Daisy's up special in Smash. / Kanntwinkle: When her Banishment of this World gauge is filled, Rikka dashes upward and fires three energy balls depending on the stick's direction.
Down Chuuni-Charge / Magic Selection
Rikka will get super armor and will not get knocked back from heavy attacks. Every hti fills up her Banishment of this World gauge like Joker's Rebel's Guard in Smash Bros. / Magic Selection: When her Banishment of this World gauge is filled, Rikka will choose between three moves: 1. Maximum Shield, Makes a 5 second shield. She can't move in the process like Hero's Kaclang move in Smash. 2. Bash, Swings her powered up weapon, Konigin der Nacht onto the ground damaging opponent critically like Hero's Hatchet Man move in Smash. And 3. Schwarz Shield; Rikka enters a counter stance. If someone hits her, she will hit back.
Final Smash: True Banishment of this World
Rikka summons Yuuta Togashi as both raise their hands to combine their power mixed with dark magic fire and mana to make a giant vortex.
120. Tsuyu Asui (My Hero Academia)
Neutral: Frog Leap
Tsuyu winds up and lunges at the enemy player to kick them.
Side: Frog Arrow
Tsuyu rapidly extends her tongue in a straight line, damaging and knocking away (or just staggering if the enemy is using a yellow attack) any enemy struck by it.
Up: Froppy Hopper / Tongue Hook
Asui has two up specials for recovery like Min Min in Smash. Froppy Hopper sees Asui using her frog-like body to hop to extreme heights. This move can only be done on the ground. If she's in the air, she will use her tongue instead.
Down: Toxic Mucus
Asui will barf out a toxic sludge from her mouth. If it makes contact with an opponent, they will slowly take damage. The effect lasts for 8 seconds.
Final Smash: Frog Dash
Just like Her Level 2 Plus Ultra move in My Hero One's Justice, Tsuyu launches herself towards the enemy player and slams her feet into them. She will then kick her target away only to pull them back in with her tongue, rapidly spin them around, then smash them into the ground.
121. Rukia Kuchiki (Bleach)
Neutral: First Dance, White Moon
Rukia steps forward to slash the opponent. If they connect, a pillar of ice will shroud the enemy before breaking, causing a hard knockdown.
If the move does not connect, a ring of icy energy will be placed behind the user in its place, acting as a trap that stays for 5 seconds.
Side: Next Dance, Hakuren
Rukia takes a stance and charges her beam in their sword, then stabs the air, creating a stream of ice stalagmites.
This technique can be charged. The longer it's charged the beam will pierce through.
Up: Rukia infuses her sword with icy energy. For the following 15 seconds, all her sword attacks have the added Ice element. She then uppercuts with her sword which is useful for recovery to the stage.
Down: White tree
Rukia will grow roots from her sword that scatter through the ground.

2024.06.02 09:29 ElkZealousideal I am harder, better, faster, stronger

That's it, simply put I am superior to you, dear reader, in every conceivable way.
The comparison isn't even fair honestly, it's like comparing the 2nd dimension to the 3rd, or cats to dogs, or the first incredibles movie to the second, or my mom in bed to yours, it's hardly even worth talking about, but out of courtesy, I will inform you of this so it informs your decisions from now on (i expect a statue of me to be buillt in times square by tommorrow morning).
Let's take an example, which i, for your sake have simplified to fit your plebian language.
You will goon tonight, this is an inevitabititly of your kind, you will goon, you will hate yourself after, your sister will walk in on you again, rinse and repeat. I will do the same, the major difference being that i will edge, and instead of edging to big booty latinas or petite asians, or men, or whatever you inferior rats do, i beat it to IDEAS.
YOU ARE SITTING ON YOUR MORTAL PLANE OF EXISTENCE, BEATING YOUR 2 INCH DEFEATER TO A PICTURE OF A FUCKING ROCK, AND I AM UP ABOVE YOU PIGLETS, WITH MY BACON IN HAND, BEAZTING IT TO NEWTONS THEORY OF GRAVITY, I AM BEYOND YOU.
so anyway a shorter list of reasons why i am better than you specifically, jacob;
zero grammar mistakes in this entire post in a language which i learned as i was reading the dictionary with one eye, and writing this post with the other
my use of refernces to obscure pop culture iconography, such as "the incredibles" and "daft punk"
my use of the word iconography
my sexy smexy formatting of this post (oh yes)
my collection of library books on my desck about the history of the sound "xhou" as used throughout chinese and vietnamese history.
tthank me for reading

2024.06.02 09:20 Hixmic (Un?)popular Opinion; The Eviscerator needs a name change

Every other Zealot melee, save for the Thunder Hammers but thats a whole different subject lmao, feel and act correctly to the lore and feel satisfying to use, but I starkly dislike the way the Eviscerator is handled. In lore, while they are mainly made for Space Marines, Eviscerators made for human use are, still, fucking huge. Look at the Repentia models for example. Their Eviscerators are, on average, around their size in height. Even with some of the older models they average around a bit over half their body length. The one we use in game looks like it barely matches the length of our arms or legs. This ironically makes it more in line with a chainsword with its size, though they would be more akin to a Heavy Chainsword.
Ive proposed a name change because I dont think FS would allocate the time or manpower to add an entire new type of weapon when there are more pressing matters to work on lmao. Best case scenario in my opinion would be a name change to Heavy Chainsword with a new weapon being added to take the place of the Eviscerator

1. Start with a Genuine Compliment

A genuine compliment can set a positive tone for your conversation. Focus on something unique about her, like her sense of style, achievements, or personality. This shows that you’re attentive and appreciative, making her feel special from the get-go.

2. Ask Open-Ended Questions

To keep the conversation flowing, ask open-ended questions that require more than a yes or no answer. For instance, instead of asking, "Did you have a good day?" try "What was the best part of your day?" This encourages her to share more and keeps the dialogue engaging.

3. Use Humor and Light-Heartedness

Humor is a great way to build attraction and make your conversations enjoyable. Share funny anecdotes, jokes, or even memes that relate to your conversation. Just ensure your humor is in good taste and not at anyone's expense

4. Mirror Her Texting Style

Match her texting style in terms of tone, length of messages, and use of emojis. If she uses a lot of emojis, feel free to do the same. If her texts are more formal, adjust your style accordingly. This creates a sense of rapport and makes her feel more comfortable.

5. Share Personal Stories

Opening up about your own experiences and stories can make the conversation more personal and build a deeper connection. Just ensure that you’re not monopolizing the conversation—balance it with her responses and stories.

6. Create Anticipation with Future Plans

Discussing future events or plans can create excitement and anticipation. For example, suggest meeting up for a coffee or checking out a new restaurant. This not only keeps the conversation interesting but also sets the stage for a real-life meeting .

7. Use Good Spelling and Grammar

Good spelling and grammar reflect well on you and make your texts easier to read. However, don’t be too formal. A few minor imperfections can make you appear more relaxed and approachable.

8. Be Playful and Tease Lightly

A little playful teasing can add a fun dynamic to your texts. It shows confidence and keeps the conversation lively. Just ensure your teasing is light-hearted and not hurtful.

9. Know When to End the Conversation

Knowing when to end the conversation can leave her wanting more. Ending on a high note and expressing that you enjoyed chatting can make her look forward to the next conversation. For example, you could say, "I've got to run, but I've really enjoyed chatting with you. Let's catch up again soon!".
By following these tips, you'll be well on your way to mastering the art of attracting women through text. For a deeper dive into crafting the perfect text game, check out Magnetic Messaging. It’s your ultimate guide to transforming your text game and ensuring your conversations lead to real-life dates and more. Get Magnetic Messaging here and start improving your conversations today!

2024.06.02 09:11 anax44 Interesting Coffee Varieties from the Caribbean

The variety of Arabica first transported out of the highlands of Ethiopia into the rest of the tropical world is known as Typica Coffee. A variety of Typica sent to Reunion mutated into a new type of Arabica called Bourbon Coffee. In more recent times, there have been more mutations of Typica and Arabica as well as multiple hybrids between the two resulting in many different varieties of Arabica Coffee.
There are two accounts of coffee coming to the Caribbean. The first, is of the Dutch transporting it to Suriname in 1713. A more popular tale is the story of a French Naval Officer who smuggled a coffee seedling out of Amsterdam, transported it across the Atlantic, and planted it in Martinique. From these introductions, coffee quickly spread across the Caribbean and Latin America leading to a variety of regional styles.
A regional style is generally the result of the varieties planted, terroir of the region, and traditions associated with processing the coffee beans. All across the Caribbean, there are several interesting and unique varieties of coffee.
Costa Rica:
Tarrazú Coffee & Villa Sarachi
Following their independence from Spain in 1821, the government of Costa Rica immediately took steps to develop the coffee industry. This included giving away seedlings, allowing farmers to take ownership of arable land, exempting coffee from certain taxes, and introducing the wash process. All of these developments happened in less than ten years after Independence. The strong government support for the coffee industry has resulted in consistently high quality coffee beans, and a healthy economy heavily influenced by this crop. The status of Costa Rica as the safest country in Central America also helps with coffee tourism and international investment.
In recent years, farmers have purchased their own processing equipment, making it possible to easily find small batches of coffee from single farms. Honey processing is also particularly popular in Costa Rica, and it’s done both to differentiate the coffee, and to save water. The highest grown coffee in the country is from a region called Tarrazú, and the volcanic soil and unique microclimate of this area is often cited as contributors to the superior quality of Tarrazú Coffee. In the past, many producers would write Tarrazú Coffee on labels to benefit from the name association, but recently the government of Costa Rica has developed a geographical indication for Tarrazú Coffee. The types of coffee commonly grown are Cattura, which is a mutation of Bourbon, and Catuai, which is a hybrid between Cattura and another Bourbon mutation.
A varietal associated with Costa Rica but also grown elsewhere is Villa Sarachi, a dwarf mutation of Bourbon that is tolerant of strong winds that is named for the Costa Rican town where it was discovered in 1950.
Dominican Republic:
Valdesia Coffee & Sierra Cafetalera Coffee
Dominicans drink more coffee than anyone else in the insular Caribbean. Due to this, coffee production in the country remains stable, but exports continue to decline with each passing decade. Generally speaking, the varietals planted are Typica and Caturra that are both grown organically on hillsides. This leads to Dominican coffee being good, but nothing exceptional.
Of some note is the coffee grown on the Cordillera Central, also known as the Dominican Alps. It’s the highest grown coffee in the country, and it benefits from the unique rocky soil of the mountains. Some coffee from regions in the southern part of the country have also attracted attention. This includes Valdesia Coffee, which is protected by a Geographical Indication and sold at a premium compared to generic Dominican coffee. Additionally, coffee grown by a collection of small farmers in the Sierra de Neiba range and processed traditionally has been included in the Ark of Taste as Sierra Cafetalera Coffee.
Honduras:
Café de Marcala & Camapara Mountain Coffee
Honduras is the third largest coffee producer in the Americas. They produce more than Costa Rica, Guatemala, and Panama combined, but still far less than Colombia or Brazil. Bourbon and Caturra are commonly grown varietals, although in the Montecillos region a type known as Pacas is cultivated. This is a mutation of Bourbon discovered in neighboring El Salvador about seventy years ago. This region is also where coffee is grown at the highest altitude, and it is protected by the Geographical Indications Honduras Western Coffee, and Café de Marcala. Coffee grown near the border with Guatemala and El Salvador has attracted some international attention, and is recognized by Slow Food as Camapara Mountain Coffee.
Panama:
Panama Geisha/Gesha
Panama is a relatively small coffee producer where many of the same varietals planted elsewhere in Central America are also planted. What the country stands out for however, is their Geisha Coffee that has managed to constantly fetch high prices and consistently win awards for the last two decades.
Geisha or Gesha Coffee was first discovered growing in the wild on the slopes of the Gori Gesha Mountains in Central Ethiopia in the 1930s. Since then, it has been introduced to coffee growing regions all across the world. While Geisha Coffee from Colombia and Costa Rica are both highly regarded, it is Panama Geisha that has become the most famous. Many coffee enthusiasts find Blue Mountain, Kona, and Kopi Luwak to be overhyped, but the floral and fruity notes of Panama Geisha makes it worth the high prices. There is no protection of the name, or geographical indication for Panama Geisha Coffee, so lower quality examples are starting to emerge.
Jamaica:
Jamaica Blue Mountain Coffee & High Mountain Coffee
In 1950 the Jamaican Coffee Board was founded, and their activity is almost entirely focused on promoting mountain grown coffee from Jamaica’s four most eastern parishes. This coffee is cultivated on the slopes of the Blue Mountains, which are the highest peaks on the island and part of a World Heritage Site. The majority of this coffee is a varietal of Typica known as Blue Mountain Coffee, but small amounts of Geisha are also grown. The coffee is graded according to the height of the slopes on which it is grown, so there is Jamaica Low Mountain Coffee grown at less than 460 meters, and Jamaica High Mountain Coffee grown over that height, but below 910 meters. Only coffee grown over 910 meters however, can legally be sold as Jamaica Blue Mountain Coffee. Coffee enthusiasts find Jamaican Blue Mountain Coffee to be very good, but no longer worth the high prices due to the growing availability of small batch specialty coffee from other regions.
Nicaragua:
Starmaya Coffee
Despite decades of political instability, the coffee industry in Nicaragua has managed to thrive. There are three coffee growing regions where farmers mostly plant Caturra and Bourbon, and all three are known for producing quality coffee. In the continuous quest for developing high quality coffee varieties with disease resistance, the French Agricultural Research Centre for International Development developed a variety in Nicaragua known as Starmaya that was made by crossing several Arabica varieties with a wild coffea species from Ethiopia. Starmaya shows a lot of promise in helping the coffee industry deal with growing threats like disease and climate change.
Guyana:
Pomeroon Coffee
Guyana lacks the climate conditions necessary for quality coffee to thrive, but it is home to something entirely unique; Pomeroon Coffee. Named for the region where it is grown, this is not a varietal of Arabica or Robusta. Rather, this is a species known as Coffea Liberica that makes up less than one percent of commercially grown coffee. Most of this Liberica Coffee is grown and consumed locally in the Philippines where it is called Kapeng Barako. The Liberica Coffee in Guyana came to the region with the early introduction of Coffee to South America via the Dutch. As Arabica crops failed in the Guianas because of disease and the warm climate, the Liberica managed to survive. Liberica coffee beans are larger than Robusta or Arabica, and shaped slightly differently. As climate change threatens the coffee industry, the potential of this coffee species is being further explored.
Guadeloupe:
Guadeloupe Bonifieur
Guadeloupe was one of the first Caribbean islands where coffee was planted, and it has grown continuously there for almost three hundred years. Production today is very small, but of particular note is Guadeloupe Bonifieur which shares the same lineage as Jamaica Blue Mountain Coffee. Additionally, Guadeloupe was the second Caribbean island where coffee was introduced after Martinique, and due to the eruption of Mount Pelée where the majority of coffee on Martinique was cultivated, Guadeloupe is now home to some of the earliest established coffee estates in the New World.

How To Text A Girl You Like - 9 Key Tips And Strategies!
https://preview.redd.it/7fy4l9xvx34d1.jpg?width=1024&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=82e79975c0778dbcb14086a3f64879bdf9826e19
Texting a girl you like can feel like navigating a minefield, but with the right approach, you can create engaging and meaningful conversations that capture her interest. In this guide, we're going to walk you through 9 tips to texting a girl you like. If you want to dive deeper and truly master your text game, Magnetic Messaging offers a complete guide to getting a girl out on a date and into bed using texting—even if you've only just met her. You can get the complete guide here.

1. Use Her Name

Using her name in your texts makes your messages feel personal and shows that you're paying attention to her. Avoid using pet names too early; stick to her actual name until you've established a deeper connection. For example, instead of saying "Hey baby," say "Hey [her name], how was your day?" This creates a more genuine and respectful tone.

2. Start with a Strong Opener

Your first text should be engaging and memorable. Reference something funny or interesting that happened when you met. For instance, "Hey [her name], I had a great time meeting you at the party. You made the night a lot more fun!" This helps her remember you and sets a positive tone for the conversation.

3. Balance Questions with Statements

While asking questions shows interest, too many can make the conversation feel like an interrogation. Mix in statements about yourself to keep the conversation balanced. For example, "I had a great workout today, what did you get up to?" This invites her to share without feeling pressured.

4. Keep It Positive

Avoid complaining or bringing negativity into your texts. Instead, share positive experiences and ask about things that make her happy. For instance, send a cute pet photo or talk about something fun you did recently. Keeping the conversation light and positive will make her enjoy texting you more.

5. Use Emojis and Voice Notes Wisely

Emojis can help convey emotions that might be lost in text. However, use them sparingly to avoid coming off as childish. Voice notes can add a personal touch, making your communication feel more intimate and authentic. For example, a voice note saying, "Hey, just wanted to hear how your day went!" can be more impactful than a text.

6. Avoid Over-Texting

Texting too frequently can make you seem needy or overly eager. Let the conversation flow naturally and give her space to miss you. If she doesn't respond immediately, don’t bombard her with follow-up messages. It's important to respect her time and pace.

7. Compliment Her Thoughtfully

Compliments should feel genuine and not overdone. Focus on her personality or something unique about her rather than just her looks. For instance, "I love how passionate you are about your hobbies, it's really inspiring," can make her feel valued and appreciated.

8. Mirror Her Texting Style

Pay attention to how she texts and try to match her style. If she uses a lot of emojis, feel free to include a few in your messages. If she responds quickly, try to do the same. Mirroring her texting style shows that you’re in sync and makes the conversation flow more naturally.

9. Leave Her Wanting More

2024.06.02 08:57 Prakash127_0_0_1 LLM doesn't include the context from the vector database, and hence the frontend gets the generic response. The second run, which includes the context, produces the desired output but doesn't reach the frontend.

I am creating a chatbot for my portfolio website. I am using Next.js, OpenAI API, Vercel AI SDK, Langchain and AstraDB.
As I hit request my route, LLM runs twice. The first run of LLM contains no context that I provided and the answer is just simple with no information of mine. But the second run contains the context I provided from the AstraDb vector database and I get what I want.
For example: I write 'who are you', the first answer is 'I am a language model AI designed to assist with answering questions and engaging in conversation. How can I help you today?' and the second answer is 'I am Prakash Banjade.........'.
But on the frontend, I get the first answer which is not relevant.
Here's my code:

2024.06.02 08:49 Cosmos_Null What is the best way to present fictional language to the reader?

is it one these two? Or an entirely different approach? :
* Use a different font to show that they're speaking in that language, use the fictional words when another character who doesn’t understand it is present, revert to English when everyone understands it.
Example :
" ö𝚗𝚌𝚎 𝚐𝚒𝚝𝚜𝚒𝚗 𝚜𝚘𝚗𝚛𝚊 𝚔𝚘𝚗𝚞ş𝚊𝚕ı𝚖 " the prisoner said, eyeing the officer behind the prosecutor. Once he left, she knelt closer and elaborate " 𝚈𝚘𝚞 𝚐𝚘𝚝 𝚝𝚑𝚎 𝚠𝚛𝚘𝚗𝚐 𝚙𝚎𝚛𝚜𝚘𝚗, 𝙸'𝚖 𝚗𝚘𝚝 𝚝𝚑𝚎 𝚔𝚒𝚕𝚕𝚎𝚛…"
* use a different font to show that they’re speaking the language, use the fictional words all the time, but provide translation below.
Example :
" 𝐬𝐞𝐬𝐢𝐧𝐢𝐧 𝐤𝐞𝐬𝐢𝐧, 𝐬𝐮𝐥𝐭𝐚𝐧ı𝐦, 𝐛𝐢𝐫𝐢𝐬𝐢 𝐠𝐞𝐥𝐢𝐲𝐨𝐫 " the knight said, stepping forward to protect his princess from whoever the figure in the darkness. The knight faced the hooded figure and said sternly " 𝐒𝐞𝐧 𝐤𝐢𝐦𝐬𝐢𝐧?! 𝐀𝐝ı𝐧 𝐬ö𝐲𝐥𝐞! "
stop talking, your highness, someone is coming / who are you?! Speak your name!
I used the Turkish language here as a stand-in for the fictional language, by the way… which format is better? Are they all terrible? Should I do something different?

2024.06.02 08:42 petielvrrr Looking for books of (almost) any genre, written by women, with complex characters and a romance subplot.

Hey guys,
So I’m in a slump and I haven’t gotten suggestions that really match what I’m looking for, so I’m trying again but modifying my request.
So here’s what I’m looking for:
  • An audiobook
  • Written by a woman (enby and trans authors are also welcome)
  • With an easy to follow writing style: I would still prefer good writing, and I don’t mean to suggest that I’m looking for YA (although I am open to YA), I just don’t want anything dense or superfluous.
  • Complex/well developed/unique characters: particularly, women characters with actual flaws.
  • Open to the following genres: fantasy/scifi, thrillesuspense, mystery/crime, and pretty much anything that falls under those categories.
  • A romance subplot.
  • Something that hooks you early on.
  • Something plot driven
Some things I am NOT looking for: - Books that make you sad. Obviously, sad moments are fine, I just don’t want to be sad for more than like 30% of the book. - Super predictable plots - Literary fiction
A couple of books that fit what I’m looking for as examples: - The Cruel Prince by Holly Black (and the Stolen Heir duology) - Everything by T. Kingfisher - Everything by Naomi Novik - Everything by Gillian Flynn
Side note: I am also particularly interested in books that handle gender in a unique way. Like books without gender roles or sexism, so if you can think of any books that fit this even if they don’t match the above criteria, please LMK.

🔗Steambow AR-6 Stinger II Tactical Crossbow - High-Performance Hunting Accessory

The Steambow AR-6 Stinger II Tactical has definitely made an impact in my daily life. The first thing that caught my attention was its sleek design. The impact-resistant polymer construction is not only durable but also UV-resistant, which is a great feature for outdoor use. The length-adjustable AR-style buttstock along with the standard buffer tube provides a comfortable grip.
One of the standout features for me was the maximum velocity of up to 220 FPS and a maximum energy of up to 15.2 FPE. I could really feel the power behind each shot! The ridged and textured pistol grip made holding it steady during use much easier.
However, there were a couple of drawbacks. The instructions booklet was virtually useless, and I had to rely on a video to assemble it. Additionally, the shims were quite frustrating. Despite these small setbacks, the crossbow performed well and was a lot of fun to use. Overall, I'd recommend this to someone looking for an affordable and powerful crossbow.

🔗Affordable Compact Crossbow for Various Uses

https://preview.redd.it/rb8nmmxht34d1.jpg?width=720&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=60c3b88bc2697330eb35f4ac873e9455022f0869
The AR-6 Stinger II Compact Crossbow Black 414, a compact and versatile crossbow that has become a staple in my outdoor adventures. Its ease of use and portability have made it a go-to choice for a variety of activities.
The draw weight of 35 pounds ensures a sturdy and reliable shot, while its compact design makes it perfect for hunting in tight spaces or carrying during longer excursions. However, despite its strong points, I've noticed that it can be quite noisy, which might be a concern for those in more sensitive shooting environments. Overall, the AR-6 Stinger II Compact Crossbow Black 414 strikes a balance between performance and convenience, making it a worthwhile investment for hunting enthusiasts on a budget.

🔗High-Performance Acudraw Crossbow for Hunters

https://preview.redd.it/8qfszpmit34d1.jpg?width=720&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=f6c3449efc49913aa0e26406b88e3d3748e0f5ae
I recently discovered the Wicked Ridge RDX 400 Acudraw crossbow, and I must say, it has completely changed my perceptions about crossbows. The RDX 400 is a beautiful balance of speed, accuracy, and affordability. It has a power stroke of 15.5 inches and can shoot up to 400 feet per second. The perfectly balanced reverse-draw design utilizes the full power stroke for lightning-fast speeds and consistent down-range accuracy.
I love the ACUdraw Pro feature, making cocking a breeze. The included mounted scope, quiver, and arrows deliver a complete package, perfect for both beginners and experienced hunters alike. The compact size of the crossbow (only 9 inches wide) adds to its ease of use and portability.
However, there have been a couple of small drawbacks in my experience. The first is the width options of 9 and 15 inches—the 9-inch width is too narrow for a complete cocking device, so I found myself using the cocking rope more often than not. Secondly, the string serving broke after just 20-25 shots, which was quite disappointing.
Despite these minor issues, the Wicked Ridge RDX 400 Acudraw crossbow has proven to be a reliable, fast, and accurate hunting companion. I highly recommend it for anyone looking to experience the thrill of crossbow hunting without breaking the bank.

🔗Wicked Ridge RDX 410 Reverse-Draw Crossbow with ACUdraw Silent and Pro-View 400 Scope

https://preview.redd.it/l31jm2vit34d1.jpg?width=720&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=5d8c29572a591ac487525e492f21428c5f6c76bd
As a reviewer who has been using the Wicked Ridge RDX 410 Crossbow in their daily life, I've had the opportunity to explore its features and experience the benefits it offers. One of the highlights for me has been the ease of use and cocking with the ACUdraw Silent, a feature that allows for silent cocking and reduces the draw weight significantly.
The reversed-draw design provides a smoother shot and better balance for increased accuracy, making it a top choice among other crossbows in the market. The state-of-the-art Pro-View 400 Scope comes with aimpoints out to 70 yards and an updated reticle for improved down-range accuracy.
However, one downside I've noticed is the occasional noise and vibration, which may be addressed by some users with the integrated String Stop System. While the crossbow is a great value, some reviewers have faced issues with the warranty and customer support, which could be essential for future purchases or repeat customers.
Overall, despite the minor drawbacks, the Wicked Ridge RDX 410 Crossbow is a superior choice for those looking to experience the thrill of crossbow hunting with ease and accuracy in their arsenal.

🔗Adjustable Compact Pink Crossbow for Outdoor Fun

https://preview.redd.it/w9mgi1bjt34d1.jpg?width=720&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=f49bd9411da4fef9300c8a0e3283a35a805f6f84
Using the Bear x Desire XL Pistol Crossbow has been an exciting adventure in my backyard. The compact design of this pistol crossbow makes it easy to store and transport, yet it's powerful and accurate. The self-cocking arm and forearm grip are perfect for beginners like me, and the adjustable stock allows for comfort and increased stability while shooting. The velocity of 175 FPS makes target practice enjoyable and the 60-pound draw weight provides a challenge without being too overwhelming.
However, there are a couple of drawbacks to this pistol crossbow. The supplied aluminum bolts with plastic push-in fletchings are prone to breaking upon impact with firm surfaces, and the cocking stock latch tends to break almost immediately. These issues are frustrating, but they do not significantly detract from the overall performance of the pistol crossbow.
In conclusion, the Bear x Desire XL Pistol Crossbow offers a fun and user-friendly shooting experience for beginners and enthusiasts alike. Its adjustable stock, compact design, and powerful velocity make it an excellent choice for backyard target practice. However, the flimsy bolts and faulty latch might require replacement over time.

🔗Affordable Wicked Ridge Invader Crossbow with ACUdraw and Pro-View 400 Scope

https://preview.redd.it/cxw0znrjt34d1.jpg?width=720&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=cb285b1d5cbdeeb7e880f52b66888f838b6fdbd3
I recently had the chance to try out the Wicked Ridge Invader M1 crossbow, and I must say, it exceeded my expectations. As a beginner with crossbow hunting, this product was an excellent addition to my gear. The built-in ACUdraw crank cocking device proved to be a game-changer, significantly reducing the draw weight and making cocking a breeze.
One of the standout features was the 70-yard Pro-View 400 scope, which offered impressive aimpoints and a cleaner view for improved accuracy. The scope's updated reticle made a noticeable difference when taking shots at various distances. Additionally, the crossbow's pre-sighting at 20 yards gave me confidence that it would perform well on the hunt.
The fact that this crossbow is built in the United States was a nice touch, and the craftsmanship was evident upon handling the device. The inclusion of a Pro-View 400 scope, 3 Match 400 arrows, and a 3-arrow quiver made the package even more appealing.
However, there were a couple of downsides I encountered during my experience. Firstly, the compact size of the crossbow made it slightly uncomfortable for me to carry and handle for extended periods. Additionally, the weight of the crossbow was a bit heavier than expected, making it challenging for me to carry it around for hours in the field.
Despite these minor drawbacks, the Wicked Ridge Invader M1 crossbow proved to be a reliable and efficient hunting companion. The combination of features and performance made it a valuable addition to my gear, and I would highly recommend it to anyone looking to upgrade their crossbow or start their hunting journey.

🔗Tenpoint Titan M1 ACUdraw Crossbow Package with Rope Sled and Accessories

https://preview.redd.it/56d9ssdkt34d1.jpg?width=720&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=430c4bb0f0d13df88866dd82c411ec7bdb1bab3c
As a crossbow enthusiast, I've had the chance to try out the TenPoint Titan M1 Crossbow Package with its Rope Sled. When I first opened the package, I was impressed by the high-quality construction with its CNC-machined aircraft-grade aluminum material. It was lightweight yet sturdy, and the compact design made it easy to carry during my hunting trips.
One of the standout features for me was the ACUdraw De-Cock system. It made taking off the safety a breeze, allowing me to quickly and safely aim at my target. However, at the same time, I couldn't help but feel a bit disappointed with the trigger. It wasn't as smooth as I expected, and it required quite a bit of effort to pull back.
Shooting with the TenPoint Titan M1 was a breeze, thanks to the powerful stroke and elongated inverted VX-5 cams. I was able to achieve pin-point accuracy and devastating speeds, and the included TenPoint 3x Pro-View 3 Scope made sighting in my targets a cinch.
The inclusion of the optional Rope-sled and ACUdraw cocking system made this package versatile and allowed me to choose which one suited my shooting style better. Although the stock itself could have been better, I was happy with the overall durability and performance of this crossbow.
In conclusion, the TenPoint Titan M1 Crossbow Package with Rope Sled is an impressive and powerful crossbow that can truly make a difference on your hunting trips. Despite some minor hiccups like the rough trigger and the stock, it has been an excellent addition to my outdoor gear.

🔗Revolutionary Crossbow with Advanced Technology and Unmatched Accuracy

https://preview.redd.it/yefl6mrkt34d1.jpg?width=720&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=bcf18dd042232df923dc34d397ddfb050359ea36
I recently had the pleasure of trying out the TRX 515 crossbow from TenPoint, and let me tell you, it did not disappoint. One of my favorite features was the reverse-draw design, which added a level of smoothness to the shot that I had never experienced before. It was also incredibly accurate, thanks to the twin-riser technology that reduced the riser flex and limb torq.
However, it did have a bit of a tricky cocking mechanism, as I had to make sure to use the patented ACU-slide Maxx system for silent and safe de-cocking. It definitely took a bit of practice to get used to, but once I got the hang of it, it was a great feature. I also appreciated the ambidextrous thumb safety, which allowed me to keep both hands on the crossbow and maintain my focus on the target.

🔗Tenpoint Titan M1 Crossbow: Fast and Powerful Hunting Companion

https://preview.redd.it/r803ot5lt34d1.jpg?width=720&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=8a12008c4c0679a7b27b3dd9513fa401683956db
I recently got my hands on the Tenpoint Titan M1 ACUdraw Crossbow and let me tell you, it's quite the experience. I've been crossbow hunting for a while now, so I was eager to see how this one would perform.
The first thing that stood out to me was the size of the crossbow. It's compact and easy to maneuver, making it perfect for those tight hunting spots. I especially loved the narrow width, which made it less hassle to carry around in the woods.
A feature that I enjoyed was the speed at which the crossbow shoots. It's capable of shooting arrows at an impressive 370 FPS, making it one of the faster models I've tried. The T5 trigger with its smooth pull and crisp break was a game-changer, making each shot feel more precise and controlled.
However, one area where the Titan M1 fell short was the durability. I experienced issues with the bowstring, which frayed and snapped after a few hundred shots. I reached out to the customer service team, and they were quick to help, but it was still an inconvenience.
In conclusion, the Tenpoint Titan M1 ACUdraw Crossbow is a good addition to any crossbow collection. With its high speed and compact design, it's sure to make your hunting experience a breeze. But be warned, there might be some durability issues that you'll need to keep an eye on. Overall, I'd give it a solid 4 out of 5 stars.

🔗Silent and Fast Crossbow Cocking Device, ACUdraw PRO by Tenpoint

I've had the chance to test out the Tenpoint ACUdraw Pro, and I must say, it has both its pros and cons. On one hand, the product is incredibly quiet, making it perfect for those who prefer hunting without any distractions. Additionally, I love how the ACUdraw Pro is fully integrated into the stock, making it a seamless and sleek addition to my crossbow.
However, there have been a few areas where I experienced some issues. For example, I found that the handle fitting was a bit off, making it difficult to fully utilize the product. Plus, I noticed that the crossbow took a bit longer to cock with the ACUdraw Pro compared to without it.
Overall, I've enjoyed using the Tenpoint ACUdraw Pro, but I believe there's definitely room for improvement. With a few adjustments and tweaks, this could become a fantastic addition to any crossbow enthusiast's arsenal.

I recently had the chance to try out the Wicked Ridge Rampage XS ACUdraw Crossbow, and I must say, it's a game-changer. As an avid hunter, the first thing that caught my eye was the ACUdraw system, which allows you to silently cock and safely de-cock with minimal effort. Not only does it save time, but it also adds a level of stealth to your hunting experience.
One of the highlights of this crossbow is its incredibly lightweight design, weighing in at just 6.5 pounds. It's perfect for those long days in the woods when every ounce counts. Additionally, the 31.5" length, 390 FPS speed, and 5.8 total pounds provide the power, accuracy, and maneuverability you need for a successful hunt.
The Rampage XS ACUdraw Crossbow also features a 3.5-pound trigger, Pro-View Scope with 3x magnification, and a 2.5" adjustment for greater accuracy and comfort. Overall, using this crossbow was a seamless and enjoyable experience, and I'm confident that it will be a reliable addition to any hunter's arsenal.

I've been using the Wicked Ridge Commander M1 Crossbow for some time now, and let me tell you, it's a real game-changer. Despite its budget-friendly price tag, this crossbow punches well above its weight.
The ACUdraw cocking device is a dream to use, making the cocking process a breeze. The 4x multi-line scope offers accurate aiming up to 50 yards, and the fully coated optics are a massive plus. However, I must admit, the draw weight could be lighter for beginners.
All in all, the Commander M1 is a reliable and affordable choice for hunters and archers alike, offering the perfect balance of power and precision.

🔗Wicked Ridge Invader 400 Crossbow with ACUdraw 50 Cocking Device

https://preview.redd.it/ubtxgckmt34d1.jpg?width=720&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=6155de7ba4255e8c8c90eee4bcb183b64c413102
Last fall, I took up crossbow hunting as a new hobby. I had been researching for months, reading reviews, and comparing different brands. From all the options available, the Wicked Ridge Invader 400 seemed to stand out. Here's my honest review of my experience and the features that really made a difference in my hunting journey.
The first thing I noticed about the Invader 400 was its amazing accuracy. With its fully adjustable Pro-View scope and 3-arrow instant-detach quiver, I was able to hit my targets with incredible precision. This feature was especially useful for my first hunting trip, where a close-range shot was crucial.
In terms of safety, the ACUdraw 50 cocking system made the crossbow feel much more secure when I was preparing to shoot. It was also very easy to handle, even after a long day of hunting, thanks to its lightweight design. However, there were instances where the cocking rod did feel a bit rough on my hand, which caused some discomfort after several shots.
One of the features that I appreciated the most about the Invader 400 was the quiet operation. In the forest, sound can be more important than you may think. Not having my target spooked away is crucial, and this crossbow performed exceptionally well in that regard. That said, the quiet operation did come at the cost of a slight reduction in power compared to some other models on the market.
A few downsides that I encountered during my time with the Invader 400 were the lack of a built-in string stopper and the absence of any kind of noise-reducing mechanisms in the crossbow itself. The lack of a string stopper made for a more dangerous experience, especially when loading and unloading arrows. And while I appreciated the quiet operation, it would have been great if the designers could have found a way to maintain that while still providing a little more power.
Overall, my experience with the Wicked Ridge Invader 400 was mostly positive. It was an excellent crossbow for a beginner like myself, and its accuracy and powerful shots made my hunting trips more successful. There are some features I wish it had, such as built-in noise reduction and a fully adjustable sight, but it certainly gets the job done well for the price point.

🔗Wicked Ridge M-370 ACUdraw Lightweight Crossbow - Multi-Line Scope and 3 Arrow Quiver

https://preview.redd.it/jp6cs96nt34d1.jpg?width=720&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=731873d6e5d3e922a7fa1612c92b306f5bc0661c
As an avid hunter, I was intrigued by the Wicked Ridge M-370 ACUdraw Crossbow. Its lightweight build and sleek design caught my eye from the start. However, upon closer inspection, I noticed a couple of hiccups with the product.
Firstly, the AcuDraw cocking device was quite tricky to use, requiring some extra effort and attention to avoid making mistakes. While I eventually got the hang of it, I couldn't help feeling a bit frustrated with the initial learning curve.
On the bright side, the crossbow itself was impressive in terms of accuracy and power, with the built-in scope providing a clear and precise view of the target. The lightweight nature made it an easy carry in the field, and the foot stirrup, while small, did the job when needed.
However, there were a couple of downsides I encountered. The scope, while functional, felt a tad flimsy and its dial-in system was somewhat unreliable. Additionally, the foot stirrup, while compact, wasn't the easiest to use, especially for those with larger shoes.
Overall, the Wicked Ridge M-370 ACUdraw Crossbow seems like a promising option for hunters in search of a lightweight, powerful weapon. With a few tweaks to address the minor issues, this crossbow could be a great addition to any gear arsenal.

Buyer's Guide

Welcome to the Acudraw Crossbow Buyer's Guide. In this section, we will discuss important features, considerations, and general advice that can help you make an informed decision when purchasing an Acudraw crossbow. With a wide variety of options available on the market, understanding the specific requirements and features of an Acudraw crossbow can help you find the perfect one for your needs.

Power Stroke Distance

https://preview.redd.it/kr1j5ayqt34d1.jpg?width=720&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=018cf3cfb6308ffc7f87d884d1bf796a0a1b7b6f
The power stroke distance is one of the primary factors that determine the performance of an Acudraw crossbow. It is the distance the bow limb moves during the draw cycle. Generally, a longer power stroke distance leads to higher speed and kinetic energy, which results in better accuracy and penetration. Look for a crossbow with a power stroke distance of at least 10 inches for optimal performance.

Draw Weight

Draw weight is the force required to pull the crossbow back to its full draw. Higher draw weight means a stronger and more powerful crossbow. However, it may also require more effort to cock the crossbow. Consider your physical strength and hunting requirements when selecting a draw weight. A good starting point for most hunters is between 150-200 pounds. If you are considering a youth model, look for a lower draw weight, typically around 100-125 pounds.

Speed

The speed of an Acudraw crossbow is measured in feet per second (fps) and affects its shooting range and accuracy. A higher speed crossbow will generally have a greater range and better accuracy. Aim for a minimum speed of 250 fps, as it can provide an ideal balance between power and speed. For a more advanced crossbow, look for models with a speed exceeding 300 fps.

https://preview.redd.it/xwhj30prt34d1.jpg?width=720&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=d137e1e4824c9b15a0c2fed75afafdb8a33896d2

Noise and Vibration

Crossbows can be noisy and produce vibrations that can affect the shooter's aim and accuracy. To minimize noise and vibration, look for crossbows with built-in noise dampening and vibration reduction features, such as rubber dampeners or recoil dampening systems. These features will help improve your shooting experience and reduce fatigue.

Practical Considerations

  • Length: Opt for a crossbow with a comfortable length that suits your height and reach. Ideally, the butt plate should rest comfortably against your shoulder when drawing the bow.
  • Weight: Consider the weight of the crossbow, especially for hunting. A lightweight crossbow is easier to carry during extended hunts, but it may also be less stable and require more control.
  • Safety: Look for features such as a manual safety, an automatic safety that engages when the bow is cocked, and string dampers to help prevent accidental discharges.
  • Scope: Choose a crossbow with a quality scope that offers a clear sight picture and adequate magnification for the desired shooting range.

Maintenance and Care

https://preview.redd.it/ltbwjk3st34d1.jpg?width=720&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=258398eec1105cc2a0f4ffa51b33decdcac34580
Caring for your Acudraw crossbow is essential to ensure its longevity and optimal performance. Regular maintenance includes cleaning and lubricating the crossbow after each use, inspecting the strings and cables for wear, and maintaining the scope properly. Be sure to follow the manufacturer's maintenance guidelines to keep your crossbow in top condition.
Selecting the perfect Acudraw crossbow requires considering several factors, such as power stroke distance, draw weight, speed, noise and vibration reduction, and practical considerations like length, weight, safety, and maintenance. By taking these elements into account, you can find an Acudraw crossbow that meets your specific needs and provides an enjoyable and successful hunting experience.

I made this using traction control and stability control on as that’s how I usually play.
Has a power to weight ratio of 0.183 so I think that’s pretty good.
Gears are shorter then they needed to be but I tuned the car at suzuka full so adjust final drive as needed.

2024.06.02 08:16 Du3-Veteran2465 How fascinating are handwritten letters in Japanese in comparison to the counterparts in English or other European languages in terms of their writing style?

I've received a handwritten letters in Japanese at one point, the difference I noticed is that their style of writing is not the same as the "Latin" alphabet, as of course they use kana / kanji, but this can also go in two styles, as in writing the "Western" format or presented in a vertical envelope. with the paper being formatted horizontally intended to be read from right to left with the text being read top to bottom vertically by column instead of by row.
Depending on their handwriting, it can be difficult to make out the kanji at times, especially ones that tend to have more than 20 strokes, as you need to be good at distinguishing the correct word by looking at the radical present, as there are words that look similar from afar but upon closer inspection, they imply different definitions, so you will have to infer on context, plus the grammar in Japanese is very alien to European languages & English, so keep that in mind.

2024.06.02 08:16 CharacterOk8322 A semi ranty reflection in honor of the end of EDS/HSD Awareness Month: Zebra Citizen Science: The collectivity/individuality Dialectic and its implications for science as chaos & democracy as experiment

“You’ve seen one Ehlers-Danlos patient, you’ve seen one Ehlers Danlos patient.”
–Ancient EDS/HSD Proverb
According to the philosopher and historian of science Paul Feyerabend, science is a fundamentally anarchistic endeavor, and the notion of the uniformity of scientific method is a fantasy. The nosological and diagnostic criteria crisis in the field of connective tissue disorders is a perfect example. This is GREAT news for Zebras. We have a golden opportunity to take up the mantle of Citizen Science and join the Chaos! We can actually help solve a great scientific puzzle! Just by communicating with our physicians, PTs, specialists and other medical professionals. We wanted to stop being gaslighted an/or misdiagnosed, dismissed, or accused of being drug seekers or difficult patients by members of the medical-industrial complex, right? Let's contribute to the nosological and diagnostic criteria efforts of physicians and researchers around the globe by making our Zebra-hood known and recognized as legitimate by the medical establishment. Like the other great historian of science of the last century Thomas Kuhn famously observed, the most important changes in science have always required revolutions. Let's make it plain to the MIC that we don't just want and deserve the recognition due our dilemmas; we also want accuracy, even if that means that there turns out to be as many individuals! I jest, of course. That’s never going to happen, but my point is that we need to remember to try and always emphasize that our situation/s is/are fundamentally non-paradigmatic, viz., that it’s time for some of the old ways to die, that our uniqueness is just as much medical necessity as it is scientific puzzle; that despite many of us being neurodiverse on top of being sufferers of connective tissues disorder, we are also, even perhaps paradoxically, united by and in that diversity; and that even though we are subjects in experiments aimed at taxonomical precision, we are not only, as Susan Sontag put it in her seminal book on medical gaslighting Illness as Metaphor, we are also Citizens in The Democracy of the Zebras.
Even though Feyerabend was fond of characterizing science as fundamentally anarchistic, he usually added that he did not endorse anarchy as good government, and that his conclusions were not ideologically prescriptive and/or normative, but historically descriptive. If this is true, it entails that Zebras are yet involved in another paradox, that between the experimental anarchy of science and the attempts of the medical establishment to nosologically order its conditions, disorders, syndromes and diseases. It’s my contention that phenomenon like the invention of the Hypermobility Spectrum Disorder and similar labels are artifacts, at least in part, of a constant dialectic between the state of experimental chaos and democratic idealism, which for Zebras seems to me to usually manifest as the need to be seen and heard not only as a collective of solidarity, but simultaneously as individuals with unique, case-by-case issues.
The idea that we live in a perpetual experiment is not unusual, especially to the citizenry of the United States and those who live in countries founded upon similar moral-political philosophies and classical liberalism. Our founding fathers called the constitution a great experiment, and while their understanding of science and its methods could be construed as primitive compared to ours, there’s still plenty in it to carry their sentiment over to our times. As unsettling as the chaos of our US and US style democracy can feel to some of us right now, it only takes a brief survey of the history of those democracies to see that our contemporary situation is tame compared to events like the American Revolution, the American Civil War, and our involvement in fighting European fascism in the first half of the last century. We often hear the mantra, “We’ve never been so divided,” but surveys like this provide demonstrative evidence that’s likely nothing more than recency bias.
With appreciation and respect,

2024.06.02 08:14 AkumaZ Dojo Guide to Higher Scores

Aka your roadmap to the leaderboard!
Who am I? A dojo obsessed masochist who is nearing the end of mirroring every dojo fight (beating enemies with their weapon and style)
I’ve gotten on the leaderboard a few times in the process and it’s gotten me more interested in how it all works and figured sharing what I’ve learned can help others
Alright let’s start by breaking down the scoring, which will lead into some more detailed breakdown of things
You’re score is based on 3 things
Time
Damage
Technique
First off, Time. This is really your DPS score, the faster you kill the enemy the higher the score, I’ve seen upwards of around 4600 I think and I’m not sure you can get much higher than that, but this is truly a measure of how well you kill things.
Next: Damage. This is actually scored based on how much damage YOU take, with a max score of 4200. Now if you take even a single hit, that drops down 1-200 points depending on the severity of it and can quickly drain your score if you keep getting hit
Now if you’re only worried about the master rank of 7k, you can kinda see how just no hitting and killing fast regardless of anything else gets you there
So here’s where it gets more interesting
Tech. This is scored on 3 different things. How many crits you get, how many countersparks you get, and how many martial arts you land
The martial arts part I think has a quality and quantity score, aka landing a few big ass hits scores just as well landing a bunch of weaker ones, which is why you’ll still see good tech scores from Greatswords and Odachis despite less total MAs used
Now prior to the most recent update, it was just Crits and Countersparks, and typically the ceiling for that score was around 1600 or so. Now though, you can get tech scores 2000-2500+ if you’re landing martial arts all over. Sometimes then it’s actually worth it to drag a fight out a bit longer in order to get more Countersparks and MAs landed. You might lose 2-400 points on the time, but potentially gain 800+ on tech in the process
Again for the 7k threshold, this is easy as hell to reach with the change, but if you’re going for something higher like the leaderboard, you more or less have to do damage exclusively with Martial arts. After all any regular hit done doesn’t get you any points in itself (but if it helps you kill faster then it helps your time score)
So it serves you well to figure out what combination of MAs work for you and your favorite styles. Violent Gale and Flash attacks are also pretty crucial to this, not because they score points by themselves but they allow you to more quickly transition from skill to skill so you can land more scoring Martial Arts. PLUS they help your Ki management and recovery.
So how do you get in the leaderboard? Simple really
Don’t get hit, counterspark damn near everything thrown at you, deal damage almost exclusively with Martial arts, and get at LEAST one critical hit in the process. 2 is better but not always possible
Pre 1.05 9000 pts was sorta the threshold for “great”, didn’t take a perfect no hit run but overall excellent play. 10k+ was the realm of absolute perfection (or pre nerf Unearthly Flame)
Post 1.05, 9k isn’t such a hard thing to achieve, I’d say 9700ish is the new equivalent of that, with 10k+ being the next step, and likely puts you on the leaderboard. Absolute perfection with a meta strategy puts you in the 11k range
And not all fights are created equally, as an example I think Genzui first dojo fight actually has a higher scoring potential than the fierce version because of the mock vs actual combat, allowing you to get an extra crit and more countersparks
Let’s also compare the 2 different types of dojo fights. Mock combat and Actual Combat
Mock combat is with wooden weapons, damage is much lower and fights tend to be longer because of it. For your gear you’re only benefiting from your 4 armor pieces and 4 accessories so builds are more limited. In these fights, you’re often able to get 2 crits and sometimes 3 if you play well
Oh and if you like running 6 katana styles you need to enter into the dojo with 2 equipped, once you’re in the menu only gives you access to one of each weapon (except bayonet because its rifle and shotgun bullets)
This has made some of my sequential mirror fights a pain because I try to double up on weapons to flash attack between the same style
Actual combat is basically toned down real shit. You have access to your normal weapons, though they’re downtuned for base damage which means your bond transferred skills and set bonuses also apply. The base damage is higher compared to wooden weapons, on top of having more of your build available, leads to shorter, bloodier fights. If you use hard hitting big weapons sometimes a second crit is hard to come by because of the sheer DPS. Oh you also get your grapple hook! That can be a big deal if you’re running the Dragon set to make use of its grapple max ki damage
And now we get into some more details about MAs I’ve found work EXTREMELY well for dojo scoring, my MVP list
Remember the tech score includes critical hits and MA landing? Well there are some skills that do BOTH, so you get a double count on your score for using them. I highly recommend having one in your arsenal, and several veiled arts are included so there’s some flexibility
Now the downside of these arts is your Ki recovery is slower to start up after use compared to a regular triangle crit so be aware. Also the actual critical blow portion tends to come at the end of the move, so there’s a bit of lead time with it. The slower ones you’ll maybe consider using to actually be part of the final depletion process, but if you’re committed to a big combo that ends up fully depleting an enemy, there may not be enough time to do the entire art with the crit at the end, in those instances just take the regular crit
I apologize if the names are off, I’m doing this off memory at the moment
The number one art? Nozuchi Drop on Odachi (Mumyo). This is a triple threat. It’s a skill, it does a crit on a Ki depleted enemy, and on a panicked enemy it suplexes them. Plus it’s FAST and useful even if you’re not in a scenario to use the extra functions. Even when it takes the crit it’s a very fast and short animation which can save you precious time for your score. Plus the crit happens almost immediately so you run less of a risk of missing the crit compared to other moves. Works great in combos too because of its speed and as a standalone for the panic grab after deflecting attacks
Next I like Roaring Blade on Tennen Rishin Latana. It does a big ki pulse that can do a good deal of Ki damage and the downward slash can take the critical hit, good at the end of a combo when an enemy is near depletion.
Night raven(Mumyo) and Spring Storm (Jigen) on Katana. These are triple threats in a different way, and are especially useful in Mock Combat because they count as grapple attacks, so they can trigger the Dragon grapple ki without having your grapple! Oh and they also can take critical hits, so excellent choices all around
Twin Dragons (Mumyo) on paired swords. This is a GREAT art, it is fast, does a bunch of hits, does great Ki damage especially when blocked, and can take the crit
Bone Shatterer on bayonet. This is another solid one, does a great deal of Ki damage, does a BIG crit hit on Ki depleted, and overall just fun to use
Demon Bear on Greatswords. Decent, animation for the crit is a little long but you do start regenerating Ki sooner when you use it compared to others
There are others, every style (except unarmed) I think has at least one Veiled Art that can also crit but these are my favs
A couple non criticals worth mentioning
Autumn Current (Hokushin Itto) is a solid choice, does great damage, even better Ki damage (especially if they’re blocking) and you can run it as long as you have Ki. Be wary of overcommitting with it though, its easy to do
Shadow Double, a bit slow overall but can strip Ki very well. Gives you a somewhat long range option too. Not sure it’s worth using as a VA on another katana style but Gikei is a solid shinobi style so it’s there for you
Mugai-ryu Firecracker. Not a veiled art, has a tricky range, and a long recovery after using it. But it does a FUCK ton of Ki damage, if you use it after a violent gale so that you’re very close to an enemy that helps ensure it hits. I’m planning to experiment more with this one after I finish my mirror challenges
And if you haven’t checked out the write up on Panic, I’d recommend giving it a read, as learning to understand, plan, and manage panic is really the key to getting those low to no-hit high score runs
https://reddit.com/riseoftheronin/comments/1d5d23l/panic_is_maybe_the_most_important_mechanic_in/
That’s all I can think of at the moment, so get out there and start scoring some points!

🔗Leupold Gold Ring 12-40x60mm HD Folded Light Path Spotting Scope

https://preview.redd.it/2v7w7gigo34d1.jpg?width=720&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=8a8887ea0a1ec33298b6844bbcd933867019fbc8
I recently got my hands on the Leupold Gold Ring 12-40x60mm HD Spotting Scope, and I must say it's a game-changer! This little powerhouse boasts an Extra Low Dispersion Optical System, which maximizes color fidelity and contrast. It provides an incredible image across a wide field of view, all with best-in-class eye relief for easy viewing with or without eyeglasses.
One feature that really stood out for me was the Folded Light Path (FLP) system. Instead of using prisms, this system employs mirrors to compress a long optical path into half its length, making the scope incredibly compact and portable.
Another highlight is its magnesium housing. This lightweight material packs a serious punch when it comes to durability, making it ideal for rough outdoor conditions. And don't even get me started on the 100% waterproof and fog proof capabilities - this thing can brave any weather!
However, one issue I encountered was with the focus knob. It's extremely stiff and doesn't change smoothly as you adjust the magnification. It took me quite a few tries to get used to it. Additionally, there's no diopter adjustment, but the good eye relief somewhat compensates for that.
Despite these minor drawbacks, I've been thoroughly impressed by the Leupold Gold Ring HD Spotting Scope. Its top-notch optical performance combined with its rugged construction makes it a strong contender in the realm of spotting scopes. If you're in the market for one, this could be an excellent investment.

🔗TruGlo Crossbow Scope with Unisex Camo Design

https://preview.redd.it/d5ujr01ho34d1.jpg?width=720&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=99a9af21cfa130e89f2820b2653cde1301f95524
I've recently had the chance to try out the TruGlo 4x32 Rangefinding/Trajectory Compensating Crossbow Scope, a nifty piece of equipment for enthusiastic crossbow users like me. The scope's main highlight was its ability to find the range and calculate the correct trajectory for my crossbow bolts. In my experience, this feature proved to be quite handy in my local archery range, particularly for those days when the wind and temperature were unstable.
One of the things that stood out to me was the scope's robustness. It was designed to handle the harsh conditions of the outdoors, as evidenced by the sturdy aluminum body and the shock-resistant construction. This scope also offered a generous 4-inch eye relief, a feature that helped protect my eyes during those blustery hunting sessions.
The scope's lenses were fully-coated, making them highly resistant to glare, a common concern for crossbow users shooting in low-light conditions. Additionally, the durable leavespring for windage and elevation adjustments were a welcomed bonus, allowing me to finetune my shots with ease.
On the downside, one of the screws on the scope rings was stripped, a minor issue that wasn't a deal-breaker. I also discovered that the scope wasn't rated specifically for a particular crossbow speed. To achieve optimal accuracy, I had to adjust the scope manually, which was a bit tricky and time-consuming.
Regardless of these minor downsides, the TruGlo 4x32 Rangefinding/Trajectory Compensating Crossbow Scope proved to be an essential piece of equipment in my hunting arsenal. Its ease of use, durable construction, and helpful features make it an excellent choice for anyone seeking to upgrade their crossbow hunting experience.

🔗Revolutionary Ravin Xero X1i Integrated Crossbow Scope

https://preview.redd.it/a63avkeho34d1.jpg?width=720&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=f6a1427991123efa897ef066624798c6b3f4522f
The Ravin Xero X1i Crossbow Scope by Garmin quickly became my go-to after its impressive features caught my eye. I've always had a bit of trouble getting the distance right when aiming with a crossbow, but with its built-in rangefinding and digital auto-ranging, it made everything so much easier. I loved the 3.5x magnification, which allowed me to spot my target without any hassle.
But the best part was definitely the Target Lock technology, which let me know when the scope was locked on a target with consistent readings. It made every shot feel like a guaranteed bullseye, and I'm really pleased with the accuracy it offered.
However, the scope was a bit heavy, and carrying it around for extended periods was quite tiring. Also, while the digital display was easy to read, the interface could've been a bit more user-friendly for faster adjustments. Overall, the Ravin Xero X1i is an impressive piece of technology that definitely gives me an edge in my hunting game.

🔗Swarovski ATS-65 HD 20-60x65mm Spotting Scope: Lightweight & Comfortable for Outdoor Observations

https://preview.redd.it/w1lnhtqho34d1.jpg?width=720&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=ec13ba12620d74d3a8c2376cbf84364bec4b4722
When I received the Swarovski ATS-65 HD 20-60x65mm Spotting Scope, I was ecstatic to finally have my own to join fellow bird watchers on our adventures. The first thing I noticed about this scope was its user-friendly ergonomic design. It was comfortable to hold and easy to maneuver, even with glasses on.
One feature that stood out was its bright, high contrast view. The SWAROCLEAN non-stick lens coatings did an excellent job of minimizing color aberrations, ensuring the image was clear and vibrant. However, I did find that the scope could be a bit heavy for long observation periods.
When comparing it to other spotting scopes, the ATS-65 HD truly shined in terms of its edge-to-edge sharpness and color fidelity. It was lightweight and comfortable, making it perfect for long days outdoors. Overall, I would highly recommend this spotting scope to anyone looking for a versatile and high-quality tool for their outdoor adventures.

🔗Advanced 15-45x60 FDE T Series Scope with ED Prime Glass and Mil-Hash Reticle

https://preview.redd.it/81jmd3bio34d1.jpg?width=720&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=4eee283aa324bd37f4207abb33fc79035e2800bf
I've been using this Bushnell T spotting scope in my outdoor activities, and it's been quite the experience. The Mil-Hash reticle works seamlessly with the Mil-Base riflescope reticle, making zeroing a breeze. The scope has a heavy-duty, militaristic feel with a rubberized coating. The Picatinny rail mounts are a nice touch, and they're also compatible with a red dot sight for added accuracy.
The optical clarity is what one can expect at this price point, but it does the job well enough. The lens caps make it a breeze to protect the glass from dust, debris, and other environmental conditions. The only issue I had with the front lens cap is the lack of a lanyard attachment, making it easily misplaced.
The case, on the other hand, left me concerned about Bushnell's overall quality. The Velcro stitching on the lens flap failed on the first day, and the scope case seems too small for the scope. The magnification setting ring could use some improvement as well, but overall, it's an acceptable addition.
Despite these minor drawbacks, the scope has proven to be durable and holds up well under rough outdoor conditions. Its compact design and easy-to-handle eyepiece make it a top choice for avid spotters. With a solid construction, good image quality, and an attractive price point, this Bushnell T series spotting scope is worth considering for your next outdoor adventure.

🔗UHD Spotting Scope with Apochromatic Lens System and Advanced Fully Multi-Coated Lenses

https://preview.redd.it/2lgb92nio34d1.jpg?width=720&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=f4dc031a27faacc5b16ca564bee0c54e1e265a1d
In the world of optics, the Athlon Optics Ares G2 UHD 20-60x85 Straight Spotting Scope has made a name for itself. It's not just for the birders spotting variances in plumage from far away or for the precision shooters who aim for targets at 1,000 yards, the scope's extra-low dispersion glass provides vivid clarity and resolution in a full-size spotting scope.
Athlon has cleverly designed it to be lightweight although strong, making it comfortable to carry and use for long periods. The aluminum alloy chassis adds to its strength without making it too heavy. With its twist-up eye-cup, it allows you to set the eyecup to the perfect eye relief for your eyes, ensuring a comfortable viewing experience.
Its ESP Dielectric Coating gives you an advantage in viewing with an image that has little or no chromatic fringe for the clearest and sharpest image. The UHD Glass in the lens helps in converging refracting colors into one focus point, producing greater contrast, sharpness, and color definition.
Reflecting over 99% of the light to your eyes, the scope brings you a clear, bright image and accurate color reproduction, thanks to the BaK4 Prisms coupled with advanced fully multi-coated lenses. It produces perfect brightness and color across the entire light spectrum, making viewing under different lighting conditions a breeze.
And when it comes to durability, the scope doesn't disappoint. It comes with an extra protective layer coating that keeps the exterior of the lens free from dirt and scratches. It's also Argon Purged and Waterproof, ensuring weatherproof performance even in harsh conditions. Purging allows for better waterproofing/fogging, making sure your scope doesn't fog up when you switch environments.
Overall, it's a joy to use this spotting scope. It's not just about viewing in high detail but also the ease it offers in using it. You won't be disappointed with its performance and features.

🔗Zeiss Conquest Gavia 85 Spotting Scope - Angled, 30-60x85, 10.8ft MFD, 15.6in L

I recently had the chance to test out the Zeiss Conquest Gavia 85 Spotting Scope, and I must say, it's quite the remarkable piece of equipment. The first thing that stood out to me was its lightweight magnesium alloy housing, which made it easy to pack and carry on my outdoor adventures. I've used several spotting scopes in the past, but this one felt noticeably more comfortable to hold and maneuver.
One of the most impressive features of this scope is its impressive magnification and objective lens, which made distant objects seem as if they were right in front of me. I was particularly impressed with the sharpness and clarity of the image, even in low light conditions. The use of ZEISS' iconic T anti-reflection multi-coatings and LotuTec hydrophobic exterior lens coatings really made a difference when observing wildlife up close.
The eyepiece's 45° angle to the optical tube and adjustable tripod collar allowed for comfortable viewing in various positions, making it a great choice for those who enjoy hunting or birdwatching from different vantage points. I also appreciated the easy manipulation of the focus collar and zoom wheel, which made it simple to make adjustments without taking my eyes off the scope.
One thing that caught my attention was the scope's waterproof and fog-proof design. It was reassuring to know that I could use it in various weather conditions without worrying about damage to the optics. The universal tripod mount was also a great feature, as it allowed me to easily attach the scope to a variety of tripods I already had on hand.
However, there were a couple of drawbacks I noticed during my time with the Zeiss Conquest Gavia 85 Spotting Scope. Firstly, the price point might be a bit steep for some users who are looking for a more budget-friendly option. Additionally, while the scope excelled in most aspects, it did struggle with chromatic aberration, which was noticeable in some images.
Overall, the Zeiss Conquest Gavia 85 Spotting Scope delivered a fantastic, immersive viewing experience. Its high-quality optics, comfortable design, and reliable performance make it a top contender for anyone in the market for a premium spotting scope.

🔗Athlon Argos 20-60x85 HD Straight Angle Spotting Scope: High Quality, Durable, and Waterproof Optical Scope

I've been using the Athlon Argos 20-60x85 HD Straight Angle Spotting Scope for a few weeks now, and I have to admit, it has been a game-changer for my hunting adventures. The quality of the optics is impressive, with the high-grade Argon gas providing excellent fog-proof capabilities and the BaK4 Prisms reflecting more light to my eyes for a sharper, brighter image.
One feature that has particularly stood out to me is the strength and lightweight nature of the composite chassis, which is protected by rubber armor and filled with nitrogen gas for added durability and waterproofing. This spotting scope also comes with a soft case that allows you to mount it on a tripod and use it with the case on, which is a convenient and practical touch.
However, there have been a few minor drawbacks in my experience. Adjusting the eyecup to the perfect eye relief for my eyes can be a bit tricky, and the low thermal conductivity of the Argon gas can sometimes make it a little difficult to get to the optimal focus.
Despite these minor issues, the Athlon Argos 20-60x85 HD Straight Angle Spotting Scope has been an excellent addition to my hunting gear. It offers a great balance of quality and affordability, and I highly recommend it for anyone looking to level up their target sighting and bird watching experiences.

🔗High-Quality Argon Optics Argos HD Spotting Scope with Advanced Multi-Coated Lenses and Durable Rubber Armor

The Athlon Optics Argos HD 20-60x85 spotting scope captured my attention with its high-grade Argon gas and BaK4 Prisms, which deliver a fog-free experience and impressive image clarity. I was particularly impressed with the advanced fully multi-coated lenses that reflect more light, giving me sharper and brighter images. The composite chassis not only provides strength but is also much lighter than I had anticipated.
One feature that stood out in my experience was the twist-up eye-cup, allowing me to easily adjust the eye relief to suit my own comfort. In addition, the argon purged and waterproof design provided an added layer of protection during my outdoor adventures.
While I was largely satisfied with this spotting scope, I did encounter a couple of downsides. Occasionally, the image seemed slightly blurry when zoomed in at max power, though this was less of an issue overall. Additionally, some users reported difficulties with perfect focus, a challenge I experienced myself but found manageable with some adjustment.
Overall, I believe the Athlon Optics Argos HD spotting scope offers a solid balance of performance and affordability, making it a worthwhile choice for outdoor enthusiasts seeking quality optics without breaking the bank.

However, I did notice that the scope might be a bit bulky for some beginners, as it weighs around 40 oz. However, its overall performance and the smoothness of its single focus wheel make up for that setback.

The compact design makes it super convenient to carry around, and I love how lightweight it feels. It's so effortless to switch between different magnification levels, giving me that extra edge when I need to zoom in on a specific bird. I also appreciate the ergonomic shape of the eyepiece, making it comfortable to use for extended periods.
However, the one downside I've noticed is the slight difficulty in focusing. Sometimes, it takes a bit of finesse to get the image looking razor-sharp, but once you've got it sorted, it's smooth sailing from there.

One of the first things that caught my attention was its adjustable rotating ring, which allowed me to position the scope in the most comfortable angle for observation. This gave me a sense of control and comfort while I was out in the wild.
However, one aspect that could have been improved was the tripod, which felt a bit flimsy. But thankfully, I was able to replace it with a more robust one as per my preference.
Despite its minor drawbacks, the Athlon Talos Spotting Scope has been a reliable companion on my hunting expeditions. It has provided me with clear, bright images, allowing me to make accurate shots and successfully bag my targets. Buyer's Guide

When it comes to choosing the right ACOG scope, there are several factors you should consider. In this buyer's guide, we'll discuss the general features, considerations, and advice to help you make an informed decision.

Why choose ACOG scopes?

ACOG scopes are known for their durability, reliability, and exceptional optical clarity. These high-quality tactical scopes are perfect for hunting, law enforcement, military operations, and serious shooting enthusiasts. They offer a wide range of magnification options, adjustable turret settings, and a variety of reticle styles to suit different shooting scenarios.

https://preview.redd.it/rtfkqq9oo34d1.jpg?width=720&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=5914d0818982dc4a4a6723345a3d6de4bc7fc1dc

Magnification

Magnification is a crucial factor when selecting an ACOG scope. These scopes typically offer varying magnification options, from 2x to 12x or even higher. Consider the type of shooting you'll be doing and the distance at which you'll be engaging targets. If you plan to take long-range shots or compete in precision shooting events, you may want to opt for a higher magnification range. On the other hand, if you're primarily focused on close-range shooting or engaging targets at short distances, a lower magnification range may be more suitable.

Reticle style

ACOG scopes offer a variety of reticle styles to suit different shooting needs. Some common reticle styles include the T2 MOA, T1 MOA, T3 MOA, and the SCR (Sniper Combat Rifle) reticle. Each reticle has its unique features and benefits. For example, the T1 is popular among long-range precision shooters due to its accurate and fine crosshairs, while the T2 has a more dense post that provides accurate ranging and holdover values. It's essential to choose a reticle that aligns with your shooting skills and preferred shooting style.

Brightness and light transmission

Another important factor to consider is the brightness and light transmission capabilities of the ACOG scope. High-quality scopes often feature multi-coated lenses that enhance light transmission and improve overall image brightness. This is particularly important when shooting in low-light conditions or during twilight hours. To ensure maximum visibility, consider a scope with an adjustable brightness setting that allows you to fine-tune the reticle illumination to your preference.

https://preview.redd.it/p8nf7hnoo34d1.jpg?width=720&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=d38f8abeb4ab54fa362568a24b09faf074429854

Construction and durability

ACOG scopes are known for their high durability and rugged construction, making them ideal for harsh outdoor environments. They are typically built with aircraft-grade aluminum and feature waterproof, shockproof, and fog-resistant design to ensure long-lasting performance.

Mount type

When selecting your ACOG scope, consider the type of mount you'll need. Some popular mount options include the ACOG quick detach, ACOG low mount, and ACOG high mount. The choice of mount will depend on the specific firearm and shooting scenario. Most ACOG scopes come with mounting hardware, but it's essential to ensure compatibility before purchasing.

Maintenance and care

To ensure the longevity of your ACOG scope, it's crucial to follow proper maintenance and care guidelines. Regularly clean your scope with a high-quality optic cleaning solution, and store it in a secure case to protect it from dirt, dust, and potential damage. Additionally, avoid exposing your scope to extreme temperatures, as this can affect its performance and longevity.
By considering these key factors, you'll be well-equipped to select the perfect ACOG scope for your specific needs and shooting requirements. Happy hunting!
