2024.06.02 09:58 Aussieboi97 $5 AUD - Vintage Market Find
Don’t usually post but had to share this lucky find. submitted by Aussieboi97 to PokemonTCG [link] [comments] Thought I would check out a vintage shop and saw a stall that had heaps of vintage gaming and TCG products. It gave the appearance that whoever ran the stall had knowledge of pricing for products etc. Saw a bulk tray of Japanese cards mixed in with commons and fakes which I thought heck you never know the chance. Found these 5 in the mix with the price tag of the bulk tray being 5 cards for $5 (AUD) so couldn’t resist. Thought they may have been fakes so crossed checked with originals online and confirmed they’re legit. Currently looking at centering and whiting I’d be safely saying all 5 are potential PSA 9s. Just thought I’d share my luck and for everyone to check those bulk containers because you never know what might be lurking in that 100+ bundle of cards. |

2024.06.02 09:29 LossLucky4012 what do you think?
The next few weeks go by in a flash, but I’ll summarize it for you, I ended up getting my own room like Ryan and Lily, I start teaching Lily how to pick locks, and we end up having a few game nights where we played games like charades, poker, even monopoly, lets just say that we will never play monopoly again. However, the most important thing of all, we ended up finding another dragonkin! We aren’t sure what dragon ancestor he has, but we think he’s another eastern long tail, like Ryan, the new guy’s name is Dillian, He’s great, absolute goofball, he’s from Australia, and according to him, his family has never been anywhere but the land down under, weird, but the guy’s like a little brother to me, so it’s cool, and that catches you up. “Hey Dillian!” I lean my head into his room, “Wanna come hang out with the rest of us? It’s movie night!” Dillian just looks at me, unreadable,“Okay, your loss.” I try to hide how unnerving that look felt, but something doesn’t feel right. I go back to the lounge, where Ryan, Lily, and Crane are all waiting for me,
As I sped off towards Dillian, no, Death Wyrm, he stopped being Dillian when he killed Dr. Crane, one thought was going through my mind, am I going to survive this? It doesn’t really matter, as long as Death Wyrm gets what he deserves, when I arrive in the city I look around from above first, I decide to stop by my old apartment, I remember when My dad helped me find this place before he died, it has looked weird since I had my stuff moved into my room at the Kadmus site, I decide to sit down on the floor, when all of a sudden I hear a click and a secret safe opens from the wall. Inside I find a video message to me from my dad, along with an envelope, with the words for when I’m gone written on it, I look through the envelope and I find an old Kadmus keycard for my dad, so that's what his work was, I knew he was secretive but damn, A few other papers that talk about dragons, turns out, Kadmus had been looking into the dragons for years, although these papers are odd, as if my dad had prior knowledge of the dragons. The ball drops when I play the video message it says,>Hello, James, if you are watching this then I’m probably dead. In the envelope that you have found alongside this message, there is also my old keycard, it will give you full access to any Kadmus site. Along with my personal notes on the Flying flame drakes, the Eastern long tails, the Wyverns, and some vague knowledge of a supposed fourth dragon species, including some vague diet, and possible weaknesses, but if you’ve already read them, then that means you have seen that the Flying flame drake notes are more definitive, that’s because I am also a dragonkin, I only inherited physical strength from our ancestors, but I have a feeling you will have more characteristics, but I am saying this because you need to know the history behind our ancestors, and the rest.<
Hello James, and I know it's you who will be watching this, at the time of making this message I am about to help you “find” an apartment, this is one that will only play for other people if you give them access and get a blood sample, the key you used is a one of a kind, and allows you full access to pre-recorded messages, and answers for certain questions, I hope that there will come a time when you don’t need it, but, knowing you, you will probably forget what the messages say within an hour, but anyway, I hope that this helps you greatly, here is a list of topics that the message box can give you data on.< The video then becomes like an interactable encyclopedia, where I can read the list at my own pace, I skim through it before my eyes lock on one entry, Dr. Crane Williams, I open the entry and i read about Crane, turns out, he was my fathers research partner and close friend, and the two of them met in college because they had managed to win a competition that landed them tuition for any college of their choosing, and they became friends after my dad stopped somebody from messing with Crane, there was a whole lot more there about Cranes upbringing, his family, his education, but I had to cut it short when Leanne entered my room, unannounced,
“What are you doing?” She glared, in her usual condescending tone, I am not in the mood for this “Jump off a cliff.” I growl, as I tuck the message away, but she sees it, and by the look on her face she could tell what I was looking at, “Let me guess, a message you don’t want anybody seeing?” I hate her but damn it she can connect the dots well, “Was it obvious?” I don’t bother denying it, she’ll just be a jerk about it, “No, I’m just used to being lied to, who's the message from?” Leanne nods at the message box,“It’s from my dad, he apparently worked at Kadmus and was friends with Crane.” The fact that my dad both worked ant Kadmus and was friends with crane seem to shock her, what’s really shocking though is what she asks next,
“Was your dad by chance Shane O’Maley?” I look at her, confused, “He was, why?” Leanne immediately seems to get shell shock, as she starts to geek out, “James your father was pretty much science royalty, I would have done anything to speak to him, oh my god I insulted the dead friend of Shane O’Maley, and of his son!” I feel angry that she brought that up again, but now feels like I can get something good out of this, “Ok I’ll make you a deal, if you only do tests with me and the other dragonkin willing to do so, and make sure not to do things like threatening to shock us if we don’t do what you want, I’ll tell you stories about my dad, deal?” It was almost impressive how quickly she answered,“Deal! Shock threats, exhaustion tests, and anything else like that is gone!” I am really happy that I can do stuff like that. That is the best ability ever.*1

2024.06.02 08:52 sigma_male_steve Bumble Dating App Review - Is Bumble Legit Or A TOTAL SCAM?
https://preview.redd.it/kb9qxhfnv34d1.jpg?width=1200&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=dd69d2621a30777567d976a8fe7ec11db28e3d02 submitted by sigma_male_steve to OnlyTheCoolest [link] [comments] Welcome to Bumble, the dating app that lets women make the first move but often leaves everyone swiping in circles. If you've been considering giving Bumble a try, you might want to read on before taking the plunge. In this scam dating site guide, we're going to explore why Bumble might not be the best place to find love or even a casual date. For those who don't want to read the entire guide, a much better alternative to Bumble is Ashley Madison. Unlike Bumble, Ashley Madison actually has millions of members and doesn't use shady tactics to scam you. Check it out here. Scam 1: Limited Free FeaturesOne of the biggest complaints about Bumble is the limited functionality of its free version. Users often find that they cannot fully utilize the app without upgrading to a premium membership. Basic features such as messaging matches and applying filters are locked behind a paywall, which can be frustrating and expensive.Scam 2: High Subscription CostsBumble's premium subscriptions are not cheap. With costs reaching up to $16.99 per month, the expense can add up quickly. Many users feel that the features offered do not justify the high price, especially when compared to other dating apps that offer similar services at lower costs.Scam 3: Fake Profiles and BotsUsers frequently report encountering fake profiles and bots on Bumble. This can lead to wasted time and frustration as you try to sift through profiles that are not genuine. This problem is exacerbated by the fact that many of the app's positive reviews seem suspiciously vague and may also be generated by bots.Scam 4: Scammers and CatfishBumble has seen a rise in scams and catfishing incidents. Scammers often use fake profiles to lure victims into sharing personal information or sending money. This can be particularly dangerous, and users need to be vigilant to avoid falling prey to these schemes.Scam 5: Poor Customer SupportMany users have expressed frustration with Bumble's customer support. When issues arise, getting a timely and satisfactory response can be challenging. This lack of reliable support leaves users feeling abandoned, especially when dealing with serious problems like scams or account issues.Scam 6: Privacy ConcernsThere are significant concerns about how Bumble handles user data. The app collects a large amount of personal information, and there have been instances of data breaches. This raises questions about the security of your information and whether your privacy is being adequately protected.Scam 7: Algorithm BiasBumble’s algorithm has been criticized for being biased. Users often feel that the app prioritizes certain profiles over others, which can lead to an uneven playing field. This bias can make it harder for some users to get matches, leading to frustration and disappointment.Another frequent complaint is the inaccurate representation of the distance of potential matches. Users report that the app often shows matches that are far beyond the specified distance range, which defeats the purpose of setting a distance filter and can lead to wasted time. Overall Verdict and RecommendationBumble might not be a scam in the traditional sense, but it certainly has its drawbacks. The limited free features, high costs, fake profiles, scammers, poor customer support, privacy concerns, algorithm bias, and inaccurate distance representation make it a less-than-ideal choice for many users. If you're looking for a legit hookup app, try Ashley Madison.Ashley Madison has millions of real members, no shady bot tactics, and an upfront and clear cost of membership. People have been using it for years for hookups. You can get a free trial for Ashley Madison using the link on this page. Good luck, and may your swipes lead to something more fulfilling! |

Reviews🔗Adidas Prime 6 Extra-Large Gym Backpack for Laptop and Workhttps://preview.redd.it/bqcyw3c2v34d1.jpg?width=720&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=0f88991226d548b5df067113d1cf3599518c4749 I've recently started using the Adidas Prime 6 Backpack for my daily commute, and I must say, it's been a game changer. First and foremost, the recycled material used in its construction not only feels sturdy but also gives me peace of mind knowing that I'm doing my part for the environment. The shoulder straps are designed with LoadSpring technology, which truly does help ease the weight of my daily load. One of the standout features of this backpack is the cleaning process. Unlike many other bags, you can easily clean this one with soap and water, ensuring it stays fresh and free from any accumulated grime. The exterior has five zip pockets and an internal zip storage pocket, making it incredibly convenient for me to stay organized and keep all my essentials within reach. However, no product is perfect. While the capacity is ample and more than meets my needs, I have noticed that the zippers can be a bit finicky at times, requiring some extra effort to open and close. Additionally, the material, although easy to clean, may not be as long-lasting as some other options on the market. Despite these minor cons, the Adidas Prime 6 Backpack has quickly become my go-to choice for daily use. Its combination of stylish design, ample storage, and environmentally conscious construction make it a true standout in the world of gym bags. 🔗Adidas Prime 6 Large Backpack for Gym or Schoolhttps://preview.redd.it/6aqyrup2v34d1.jpg?width=720&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=b4601edb06ccef3d14899c60c4baecc2976e8597 Imagine carrying a backpack that's not just spacious, but extremely comfortable, with the added bonus of being incredibly durable. As a student or traveler, this Adidas Prime 6 Backpack is a dream come true! From the moment I got my hands on it, I was impressed by its size. It's extra-large, perfect for those days when you need to carry a lot of stuff around. However, it's not only about capacity. The features that make this bag stand out include LoadSpring shoulder straps. They're designed to help distribute the weight evenly, making heavy loads feel much lighter. Cleaning is also a breeze with this backpack. The wipe-able lining means that you can easily spot clean it with soap and water, keeping your bag looking fresh and new. There are also multiple zippered pockets, providing ample storage space for all your belongings. Not to forget, a padded compartment that securely stores up to a 15-inch laptop. However, no product is perfect. While the majority of users praised its durability, a few individuals reported issues with seams not being sewn properly. Despite these minor issues, the overwhelming majority of reviews were positive, praising the style, comfort, and convenience of this backpack. In conclusion, the Adidas Prime 6 Backpack is a fantastic option for anyone in need of a large backpack that's both comfortable and reliable. Its capacity, coupled with its padded laptop compartment and multiple zippered pockets, makes it a perfect companion for daily use or extended travel. 🔗Adidas Graphic Oversized Duffel Bag for Sports and Travelhttps://preview.redd.it/qikeu533v34d1.jpg?width=720&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=610647d983b8b489bf32b54a51e6622f59603435 Adidas has always been top-notch when it comes to athletic wear and accessories, and this Graphic Duffel Bag is no exception! I'm currently using it for my weekend trips to the gym and it's been a real lifesaver. The size is perfect, not too big and not too small, which means it's easy to carry, even when it's loaded up with all my gym essentials. I was pleasantly surprised with the quality of the duffel. The material is sturdy and thick, so I know it's going to last a long time. Plus, the large graphic screen print on the side gives it a stylish edge. The bag also features a zipper closure and 93% Polyester, 3% Natural Latex Rubber, 2% Spandex, 2% Nylon blend, which gives it a nice structure. One feature I absolutely love is the adjustable shoulder strap. It makes it so convenient to carry the bag, especially when it's packed filled with stuff. You can either carry it over your shoulder or across your body. It's so comfortable and doesn't strain my shoulder at all. A small pocket in the bag adds to the convenience. It's perfect for storing keys or a small wallet. Although there's no specific spot for a water bottle, I usually just toss it in with the rest of my stuff and it works out fine. A few cons worth mentioning are that the bag isn't very light, which can be a bit cumbersome when it's empty. However, it's manageable when you're carrying it on your shoulder. Another minor inconvenience is that there are no straps or hooks for a yoga mat or extra shoes on the outside, you'll have to make do with cramming them inside. Overall, this Adidas Graphic Duffel Bag has been a game-changer for my gym trips. It's durable, spacious, and stylish, all while being convenient to carry. I've recommended this bag to all my workout buddies and they're all loving it too! 🔗Adidas Team Issue II Duffel Bag - Durable Gym Bag for Professionalshttps://preview.redd.it/eq6hkvl3v34d1.jpg?width=720&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=66f27638b832bcedca3db5d4788a102330b0c6dc As someone who's been using the Adidas Team Issue II Medium Duffel Bag Black for quite some time now, let me tell you, it's a game-changer! Whether you're heading to the gym or packing for a weekend getaway, this bag has got your back. First off, the durability is top-notch. Crafted in poly ripstop with reinforced panels at zippers and stress points, this bag is made to last. It also maintains its shape, making it super easy to access your stuff even when it's fully packed. One of my favorite features is the zip end pocket designed specifically for shoes or dirty clothes. It keeps everything separated and organized, which is a big plus in my book. There's also a zip pocket at the outer face perfect for storing small items like keys or your phone. Now, onto the straps. The dual carry handles with padded hook-and-loop panel provide comfort while carrying and the adjustable, removable shoulder strap adds versatility. Plus, did I mention how spacious the interior is? It can easily accommodate 2-3 outfits along with shoes and other essentials. In terms of cons, the only one I could think of is that it might not be big enough for everyone's needs. However, for most people, myself included, it's absolutely perfect. So, if you're in the market for a new gym bag or just need something practical and stylish for travel, the Adidas Team Issue II Medium Duffel Bag Black is definitely worth considering. 🔗Adidas Prime 6 Extra-Large Backpack - Greyhttps://preview.redd.it/s4w0v0v3v34d1.jpg?width=720&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=a1b35d26692cea91e902bbf48604b36128585f20 As a fitness enthusiast, I've been using the Adidas Prime 6 Backpack in grey for all my workouts and daily commutes. The moment I saw this bag, I was drawn to its sleek design and vibrant colors. Little did I know, it would become a reliable companion during my intense workout sessions and daily office routine. One of the most noticeable features of this backpack is its capacity. It's got plenty of pockets both inside and outside, making it incredibly convenient to store all my essentials - from a fresh towel and spare clothes to my laptop and office files. The padded compartment for my 12-inch laptop gives me peace of mind knowing that my device is well-protected. The LoadSpring shoulder straps are another standout feature. They've made carrying heavy loads much more comfortable, especially when I'm rushing between classes or heading straight to the gym after work. Plus, the easy-to-clean material means I don't have to worry about sweat or dirt ruining its appearance. However, one con I've noticed is that the sides of the backpack don't provide much support, which can cause the contents to shift around during intense physical activity. But overall, the Adidas Prime 6 Backpack has been an excellent addition to my workout gear. Its durability, convenient storage design, and visual appeal make it worth its price tag. 🔗Adidas Diablo Small Duffel Baghttps://preview.redd.it/24jd4sg4v34d1.jpg?width=720&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=0e36123b5ed3ba80c5a43250cef88e6326c662a7 I've been using this Adidas Diablo Duffel Bag for a while now, and it's quickly become my go-to bag for trips to the gym or a weekend getaway. This small bag packs a lot of punch; the main compartment is large and easy to load up with all my workout gear. The adjustable shoulder strap makes it incredibly comfortable to carry around, and the bold screen-printed Adidas brandmark on the front adds a nice touch of style. One feature that I appreciate is the free side panel left for customizing with our team's logo. This bag is also incredibly lightweight and easy to clean, which is a huge plus for someone as messy as me! The only downside I've noticed is that there are no side pockets, but in keeping with its simple design, this duffel efficiently holds all my stuff in one place. All in all, I'm really happy with the Diablo Small. It's the perfect size for a gym bag or a small overnighter, and it looks good doing it. I would definitely recommend this to anyone looking for a versatile and sleek bag for their active lifestyle. 🔗Stylish modern hide a bed chair - convertible sleeper chair with comfortable pillows and pocketshttps://preview.redd.it/ddv86hx4v34d1.jpg?width=720&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=257a014ed1152bd6cc211157979cfae3df06736d I've been using the Adidas Santiago Duffel Bag for a few weeks now and boy, is it a game-changer! The first thing that caught my eye was the retro design - I mean, who wouldn't love a throwback to those classic Adidas styles? The screen-printed branding on all four sides adds just the right touch of sophistication. One of the standout features has to be the spacious main compartment. It's large enough to fit everything you need for a weekend getaway, yet compact enough to carry around easily. Plus, the two endcap pockets with zippers are perfect for keeping smaller items organized and within reach. The adjustable shoulder strap is another highlight. Not only does it make carrying the bag incredibly comfortable, but it also allows me to adjust the length according to my height, making it feel like it was made just for me. On the downside, the 750D fabric, while durable, might not be as water-resistant as some other materials out there. So, you might want to keep an eye on the weather forecast if you're planning on using this bag for outdoor activities. All in all, I'm absolutely thrilled with the Adidas Santiago Duffel Bag! Its combination of style, functionality, and comfort makes it the perfect choice for anyone in search of a reliable gym bag that stands out from the crowd. 🔗Adidas Diablo Small Gym Duffel Baghttps://preview.redd.it/3pqilsf5v34d1.jpg?width=720&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=a908dcdfcd4ab19c4d70441908dee8a9d7b0e040 I've been a loyal user of the Adidas Diablo Small Duffel Bag for quite some time now. As someone who frequently hits the gym, I value convenience and durability in a bag, and this one delivers on both counts. Its compact size doesn't compromise on storage, fitting in all my workout essentials with ease. One of the standout features is its padded straps. They're incredibly comfortable and make carrying the bag a breeze, even when it's loaded up. The zipper closure provides added security, while the attractive color options allow me to choose a bag that aligns with my personal style. However, there are a few downsides. Some users might find the lack of side pockets or additional compartments limiting, especially if they carry a lot of items to the gym. Additionally, the lightweight nature of the bag can make it feel slightly flimsier than one would expect from an Adidas product. In conclusion, the Adidas Diablo Small Duffel Bag is an excellent choice for anyone looking for a compact, durable, and comfortable gym bag. Its capacity may be on the smaller side, but if you're someone who prefers a streamlined approach to packing, this bag will certainly serve you well. 🔗Adidas Court Lite Duffel Baghttps://preview.redd.it/fkx9dny5v34d1.jpg?width=720&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=61a6a4cc00328326c930dabe16f6e0febd81056c I've been using the Adidas Court Lite Duffel Bag Black/White for quite some time now and I must say, it's perfect for my daily routine. The bold adidas graphic really stands out, giving it a sport-inspired style that I absolutely love. The size is just right - not too big, not too small, making it perfect for trips to the gym or short overnights. One feature that stood out was the adjustable strap. It made carrying the bag a breeze, even when it was filled to the brim. The main compartment is spacious enough for all my workout essentials, while the exterior pockets provide added convenience to store smaller items like my phone and keys. However, some reviewers mentioned that the size might be smaller than expected. Although I didn't face this issue personally, it's worth considering if you're looking for a bigger bag. Another minor con is that there could be more compartments inside for better organization. All in all, the Adidas Court Lite Duffel Bag Black/White is a stylish, well-made bag that offers ample storage capacity. It's been a reliable companion on all my gym trips and short getaways. If you're considering a similar bag, I'd definitely recommend giving this one a go. 2024.06.02 08:43 sigma_male_steve Instinct Dating App Review - Is Instinct Legit Or A TOTAL SCAM?
https://preview.redd.it/s6qq7253u34d1.jpg?width=512&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=3fcc7dff31b200ba1c95ebdcc65f349e5e2d8baf submitted by sigma_male_steve to OnlyTheCoolest [link] [comments] Welcome to the Instinct dating app, where you're supposed to find love or a casual fling but might end up swiping your patience away instead. Let's delve into why Instinct might leave you feeling more frustrated than fulfilled. In this scam dating site guide, we're going to explore why Instinct might not be your best bet for finding meaningful connections or even a quick hookup. For those who don't want to read the entire guide, a much better alternative to Instinct is Ashley Madison. Unlike Instinct, Ashley Madison actually has millions of members and doesn't use shady tactics to scam you. Check it out here. Scam 1: Unreliable and GlitchyOne of the biggest complaints about Instinct is its unreliability. Users report that the app frequently crashes, logs out unexpectedly, and has various bugs that make it frustrating to use. Imagine trying to connect with someone only for the app to close on you mid-conversation. These technical issues are not just occasional but seem to be a regular occurrence for many users.Scam 2: Fake Reviews and BotsA significant number of users suspect that many of the positive reviews on Instinct are fake. The presence of overly simplistic and vague five-star reviews raises red flags. Additionally, there are concerns about bots on the platform, which can make it hard to distinguish between real users and automated profiles. This undermines the authenticity of interactions and can waste your time.Scam 3: Limited Free FeaturesWhile Instinct is advertised as free, the reality is that the free version is extremely limited. You're restricted in the number of swipes you can perform, and many key features require a premium subscription. This paywall can be frustrating, especially when the basic functionalities of the app are already glitchy and unreliable.Scam 4: High Subscription CostsInstinct's premium membership is costly, and given the app's other shortcomings, it feels like a poor investment. Users have to pay for basic functionalities, such as seeing who liked them or boosting their profile, which should arguably be part of the basic package given the app's performance issues. The high price tag of $29.99 per month is hard to justify when the app does not deliver a smooth and reliable experience.Scam 5: Poor Match QualityEven if you do manage to get through the glitches and pay for a premium subscription, you might find that the quality of matches is lacking. Users often complain about a low number of active users and the distance of potential matches being inaccurately represented. This can lead to wasted time and effort as you sift through profiles that do not meet your criteria or are too far away to be practical.Scam 6: Privacy ConcernsInstinct collects a significant amount of user data, and there are concerns about how this data is used and protected. While the app claims to prioritize privacy, the extent of data collection, including sensitive information, raises questions about user security. This is especially concerning in the context of a dating app where personal information is regularly shared.Scam 7: Filled with ScammersMany users report that the app is filled with scammers. These scammers often pose as real users but are looking to con people out of their money. The typical scam involves luring users to off-app platforms and then requesting money for fake reasons like travel expenses or hotel costs. This pervasive problem makes it difficult to trust interactions on Instinct.Scam 8: Inaccurate Distance RepresentationAnother issue users face is the inaccurate representation of the distance of potential matches. The app often shows matches that are far beyond the specified distance range, which is frustrating for users looking for local connections. This lack of precision can lead to wasted time and effort.Overall Verdict and RecommendationInstinct might not be a scam in the traditional sense, but it certainly has its drawbacks. The unreliability, fake reviews, limited free features, high costs, poor match quality, privacy concerns, prevalence of scammers, and inaccurate distance representation make it a less-than-ideal choice for most users. 2024.06.02 08:27 Ubud_bamboo_ninja New hypothesis for Fermi paradox explanation. Reason why other star system's conscious life forms might never reach an essential level of technical development could be philosophical. That's why "aliens don't come".
I do this research of humanity's philosophy earliest sources and read through Plato's works again and again. It's amazing and I want to share some "shower thoughts" about Plato. Couldn't imagine I would say like that ever. But it will be a small input into Fermi paradox discussion. First I'll tell you a short story from the ancient times and at the end I'll give you new interesting reason why some Intelligent Life forms all over the world might be extremely introvert and solipsistic and not technically developed. Why there might be Intelligent civilizations but they never reach essential technical and philosophical progress. Here goes: submitted by Ubud_bamboo_ninja to UFOs [link] [comments] Socrates: \"George Lucas\" of 2300 years ago. Have you heard about Theuth? The ancient philosopher who sort of “invented” main sciences earlier than 7000 years ago. During the times 100-200 years before Ancient Kingdom of Egypt. That info comes from Plato's dialogue "Protagoras." In the dialogue, Socrates recounts a tale about Protagoras meeting with a king named Amanthus. During this meeting, Protagoras tells the king a story about a mythical figure named Teuth or Theuth (sometimes spelled as Thoth or Thouth), who was a deity associated with writing, wisdom, and knowledge in ancient Egyptian mythology. https://preview.redd.it/aavaqnnyq34d1.png?width=668&format=png&auto=webp&s=6db062bfefc5a0c302f3ff37dbb9f8493ca683ed According to the story, Theuth presented the king with various inventions, including mathematics, astronomy, and the alphabet. Theuth claimed that his inventions would improve the wisdom and memory of the people who used them. However, Socrates raises questions about the true nature of these inventions and whether they would truly benefit humanity as Theuth claimed, leading to a discussion about the nature of knowledge and its effects on society. When reading original "Protagoras" you can find interesting dialogue of the King Amanthus and Theuth. King Amanthus gives a very interesting thought: “When Theuth presents him a technique of writing, to preserve knowledge, Amanthus asks him a question: Do you think you invented a good thing to preserve knowledge and make future generations wiser? You are wrong. By writing down the real knowledge we all keep inside our minds now, by taking it out of your head and your real experience, you will give birth to “wise men” that got their knowledge from written texts, they really know nothing about real life, their knowledge will become useless, and they will lose the true connection with gods. So you think you bring goodness by that, but you only make people loose real believes and knowledge.” Now a new thought why some civilizations from other star systems might never reach our level of development: Becoming complex and developed, people are still focused on real knowledge of "here and now", "See it with your own eyes" living only "now" moment and having only a personal "bag" of knowledge in their heads. Almost for 10k of years ancient humans lived developed society style, but without using any good written symbol language. Complex rituals and social activity was ruled buy structure that still passed from parents to children directly "in motion" without distortion on the way. By becoming "wise" by writing books and computer codes we opened a "demon box" of eternal knowledge and opportunities but we are doomed to have a lot of "fake" "false" "disguised" knowledge, events and information around us that we can never be sure for 100% to be real. Though partially this info brings you benefits if you work it out enough and you are lucky enough. Maybe a lot of "wiser" that us aliens on other planets already understood that "extra knowledge" brings this stress of creating a goal to become God. (know all) Maybe they chose to live happily without inventing printed word and alphabets. So they have no signals to send to us. Like humanity did for thousands of years before some crazy mushroomed guys started to draw symbols on those stones and caves. Maybe our written and spoken language is a type of interdenominational parasite that occupies the mind of "good feeling fella" and makes him create all this stupid dramatic life stories to feed with its energy or something like that. And in this world there are. lot of conscious life forms but they all are born in balance with nature, and only guys like us with story creating parasites in our heads start to develop technically for maybe a single reason: to blow up the world. And this infected types of developed civilizations are much less represented in the world. That's why Fermi paradox. If you want to check more of same framework thought experiments about story telling nature of our reality and interdenominational alien intrusion in our every day life through story creating machine, try my other posts on Reddit or a book about basics of quantum dramaturgy. PS: for all down voters, please remember the slogan of this sub: "We aim to elevate good research while maintaining healthy skepticism." and don't minus out the post that you just don't agree with, that might be interesting to people who are ready to hear out unusual hypothesis. And when it comes to reliable and accurate test strips, Accu-Chek stands out from the crowd. In this article, we'll take a closer look at Accu-Chek Test Strips - a game-changer for those who want to confidently monitor their blood sugar at home. The Top 5 Best Accu-Chek Test Strips
Reviews🔗Accu-Chek Guide Strips: 50-Pack for Advanced Blood Glucose Testinghttps://preview.redd.it/0upu5n0bn34d1.jpg?width=720&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=93f96937aae29c3463b61576a784907bb5a965cc I've had the pleasure of using the Accu-Chek Guide Test Strips in my daily life, and let me tell you, they've been a game-changer. The simplicity of taking just one strip and ensuring no spillage is a life saver, especially when you're already dealing with the complexities of diabetes. One of the features that stood out to me was the push-button strip ejector - it's like it was made to keep you from touching used strips. And not having to touch them at all? That's a definite plus. The Accu-Chek Guide Strips are compatible with the Accu-Chek Guide Glucometer, which makes everything just a little bit more convenient. But, as with any product, there's always a catch. While the strips deliver advanced 10/10 accuracy, I did notice that about 5% of the time they wouldn't work. It's a bit frustrating when you're relying on these strips to keep track of your blood glucose levels. And let's face it, the price isn't exactly wallet-friendly, especially when you can get the same thing at the pharmacy for a fraction of the cost. Overall, the Accu-Chek Guide Test Strips are a reliable tool for anyone dealing with diabetes. They're easy to use and highly accurate, but the cost and occasional malfunction could be improved. I'd say they're worth the investment, but only if you're willing to deal with the minor setbacks. 🔗Accu-Chek Guide Glucose Test Strips for Diabetes Management (A Complete Pack of 2 x 50 Strips)https://preview.redd.it/t7mzwtjbn34d1.jpg?width=720&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=b2655092421b60e4dc078bf2261841b358e2f068 As someone who has been living with diabetes for a while now, I was relieved to find the Accu-Chek Guide 100 Test Strips for Glucose Care. The simple yet effective design made it a breeze to use, even on those early mornings when I was groggy. The smartpack vial was a game-changer, allowing me to take just one strip without any spills. The end of the strip was an innovative feature that I appreciated, as it allowed me to place a small drop of blood anywhere along it for more accurate results. The Made in the USA badge also gave me peace of mind, knowing that the product was of high quality. Despite the small size, the strips delivered advanced 10/10 accuracy for reliable results. Overall, the Accu-Chek Guide 100 Test Strips proved to be a reliable and user-friendly option for managing my diabetes. 🔗Accu-Chek Active Blood Glucometer Kit: Easy, Accurate Self-Testing for Diabetes Managementhttps://preview.redd.it/cxydt4xbn34d1.jpg?width=720&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=a33c25554b8b8c7da2bb2488f3390e12307efae4 As someone who needs to regularly keep tabs on their blood glucose levels, I recently gave the Accu-Chek Active Blood Glucometer Kit a try. The whole set felt a bit bulkier than I had anticipated, standing at almost 6 inches tall and 5 inches wide, but it was still easy enough to handle. What really stood out about this kit was its ease of use and accuracy. After just a few tries, I got the hang of it and could take my readings quickly without any fuss. The large digital display made it simple to read the results at a glance. The pre-and post-meal reminders were another helpful feature, ensuring I kept up with my readings no matter the time of day. However, there were a few areas where the kit could use some improvement. For example, the packaging could have been friendlier to the environment, and I'd have appreciated if the kit came with more than just 50 test strips. On the whole, though, the Accu-Chek Active Blood Glucometer Kit was a reliable tool for monitoring blood glucose levels, and its various features made it an excellent choice for self-testing. 🔗Accu-Chek SmartView Test Strips for Exceptional Accuracyhttps://preview.redd.it/k5i0t0ccn34d1.jpg?width=720&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=f9c3b7b7e106a641f6cdbbc30a7f395960c49e3b Incorporating Accu-Chek SmartView test strips into my daily routine has been a valuable addition. The precision of these test strips is evident and reassuring, as they adhere to a more stringent specification than previously available. While using these strips, I noticed that they provide reliable results, giving me peace of mind when managing my health. However, I've also experienced occasional frustrations with the packaging and its compatibility with certain meters. Despite this, the Accu-Chek SmartView test strips are a trustworthy option for those in need of accurate blood glucose readings. 🔗Accu-Chek Mobile 50 Test Cassette for Easy Blood Glucose Monitoringhttps://preview.redd.it/0r27dsocn34d1.jpg?width=720&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=8cb31e871f4e89ad278c98a049d1ff8d465fa942 As a person living with diabetes, I've tried various tools to monitor my blood glucose levels. Recently, I gave the Accu-Chek Mobile Test Cassette a try, and I must say, it's been a game-changer. The cassette itself is sleek and compact, allowing me to carry 50 tests on one continuous tape rather than dealing with a pot of individual test strips. It's a welcome change from the hassle of constantly handling and replacing individual strips. One of the best features of this product is the guidance tabs. They help me avoid unintentional contact of the skin with the test area, making the process much smoother and more accurate. I appreciate the easy blood application and improved handling that these tabs provide. Additionally, I find it reassuring that the cassette has an expiry date printed on it, ensuring that all tests are used within the recommended timeframe. While the Accu-Chek Mobile Test Cassette is a high-quality product, it does come with a higher price tag compared to some other options. This might be a drawback for some users, especially when considering the cost of lancets and the mobile meter separately. However, for me, the convenience and ease of use that this product provides have made it well worth the investment. Overall, I would highly recommend the Accu-Chek Mobile Test Cassette to anyone looking for an accurate and user-friendly blood glucose monitoring solution. 2024.06.02 05:58 Betty-Adams [SPS] Humans are Weird - Lids - Short, Absurd, Science Fiction Story
https://i.redd.it/spi6mb3l034d1.gif submitted by Betty-Adams to scifi [link] [comments] Humans are Weird - LidsOriginal Post: http://www.authorbettyadams.com/bettys-blog/humans-are-weird-lidsFirst Sister came lazily aware to the faint tingling her her antennas that indicated a human she knew had been shouting frantically a few rooms over in the echoing wooden hive. She stretched her legs mindful of the harsh ninety degree corners on the human furniture and idly reached down to pat Third Sister between her antenna when it looked like she was starting to stir. The light filtering through the ultraviolet shielding on the bedroom window showed that it was far to early for the diurnal humans to be generally away and around so there was no point in Third Sister adding herself to whatever chaos Human Second Cousin Betty was fomenting, presumably in the main work-shed if First Sister had any ability at all to judge distance and direction in the above ground structures. Her stretches finished she trotted out into the hallway, too cool and too quite by any Shatar Standard and felt her frill lay tight to her neck to preserve warmth. She followed the sounds of a human dancing in an anxious pattern that vibrated through the floor to her toes as much as through the air to her antenna, and found Human Second Cousin Betty with her hands flat on a counter glaring at what looked to First Sister like a relatively inoffensive printer. First Sister allowed herself another leisurely stretch as she considered the situation. The human literally dancing with impatience, the printer set to the fastest safe output, the scent of heated poly-carbons in the air, and the line of three heated-sand containers gleaming with fresh sterilization. “You lost the lids again didn’t you?” First Sister asked, not trying very hard to keep the amusement out of the set of her antenna. Human Second Cousin Betty snapped her head around in that swivel motion that had once been so disturbing and tightened her face into a properly intimidating glare. “I am not the only person in this house!” Human Second Cousin Betty hissed, bypassing her vocal chords to avoid the deeper, louder notes that might wake the other humans. “This is not my fault! I told them that the honey-pot lids go on the high shelf when last season’s pot is empty! I know that I put one there myself!” She flung her powerful arms up in a wave of frustration and glared down at the printer. “Faster!” she hissed. “The printers-” First Sister began, her mandibles twitching with barely constrained humor. “Don’t respond to verbal commands!” Human Second Cousin Betty interrupted her, dancing sideways in frustration. “I know, I know, and printers can smell frustration so I shouldn’t let it know I am on a timeline! Or how embarrassing this is going to be even if I get all three hydro-proof lids printed before Old Woman Honey shows up with her vats! But I cannot face begging spare lids off of her again! We had extra lids last season! It’s going to be bad enough that when she sees the printed lids she’ll know we can’t keep the others...” First Sister stood a little taller in shock as something Human Second Cousin Betty had said in her rant properly formed a thought vine. “Second Cousin!” First Sister interjected with a warning click that the human heeded by stilling her dancing and spinning to face her. “Are you saying that the machine mind in this printer is complex enough to identify human emotion patterns and respond to them out of spite?” Human Second Cousin Betty paused, and her head actually tilted to the side in a properly thoughtful gestures as she pondered that. “No,” she said slowly, her face skin contorting into a frown. “I mean, I know it’s not supposed to...but it kind of does? Or maybe just acts like it? I don’t know-” Her musing was interrupted by a faint click as the lid currently being printed dropped to the counter and the machine gave a friendly chirp as it started printing the next one. “Watch this. I need to give this a smoothing bath after,” Human Second Cousin Betty said as she snatched up the lid, forced it down into the jar to shape it, and darted out the door, presumable to dunk the printed and shaped lid into a hardening bath. Presumably she wanted First Sister to watched the automated systems print out the next lid. Was she expecting First Sister to observe for and report any signs of...spite? Resentment? In the device. It gave a little grinding noise that sounded like nothing short of contentment, bust First Sister still eased a little away. If humans needed to keep a continuous watch on machines as simple as printers for signs of active sabotage that might just be something she needed to report to a Grandmother. Of course it might just be human fancy and metaphor, but now that she ran those memory vines behind her eyes she could recall most of the humans showing physical and verbal affection to most of their complex machines. First Sister eased carefully closer to the printer that had just finished a complicated section of the lid. She raised a hand and patted the top gently enough not to disturb its work. “Good printer,” she said, attempting to mimic the tone Human Second Father used on his truck. “First Sister?” a voice called out from the door as Human Second Mother loomed into view, “What are you doing?” The human’s tone spoke of perplexity and possibly amusement and First Sister had the sinking feeling that she had failed to consider the option of Human Second Cousin Betty’s behavior falling into the category of a ‘prank’. “Making sure the printer cannot smell frustration?” First Sister answered, deciding on simple honesty. Human Second Mother started at her in confusion for several long moments, and then burst out laughing before leaving without explanation. First Sister tilted a sideways glance at the printer. It was most likely only her imagination that it chuckled at her too. https://i.redd.it/c110r9ro034d1.gif Science Fiction Books By Betty AdamsAmazon (Kindle, Paperback, Audiobook)Barnes & Nobel (Nook, Paperback, Audiobook)Powell's Books (Paperback)Kobo by Rakuten (ebook and Audiobook)Google Play Books (ebook and Audiobook)Check out my books at any of these sites and leave a review! Reviews🔗Royal 100Cx Portable Battery/AC Powered Cash Register - Blackhttps://preview.redd.it/xd1123gvy24d1.jpg?width=720&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=8d9ddc0b45216a595affd57d995688acd6bd1270 Once upon a time, I decided to set up a small business selling handmade crafts at local markets. I needed a cash register to keep track of sales and manage taxes, so I got my hands on the Royal 100Cx portable cash register. Boy, was I glad I did! This bad boy has helped me run my business smoothly and efficiently. The first thing that struck me was the convenience of having both battery and AC power options. It's perfect for when I'm out and about selling my crafts or even back at home. The compact design is also a winner; it doesn't hog up much space on my market stall. But, it's not all sunshine and rainbows with this cash register. The setup can be a little confusing at first, especially when trying to figure out which buttons do what. And you really need to use at least one department key for it to work properly - something that caught me off guard. Despite these hiccups, I couldn't be happier with my Royal 100Cx cash register. It helps me keep tabs on my sales, computes taxes automatically, and even provides detailed department reporting. Plus, it's solidly built and has held up well through countless transactions. All in all, it's been a trusty companion in my small business journey. However, there are some cons that I need to address. Some users have reported issues with missing parts and unhelpful customer service, which can be quite frustrating. Additionally, the manual has been described as difficult to navigate. To sum up, the Royal 100Cx portable cash register might not be perfect, but it gets the job done. It's a reliable ally for small businesses or casual vendors who need a no-fuss solution for managing sales and taxes. Just be prepared to dive into the quirks and quirks of setting it up yourself. 🔗Royal 6000ML Black Cash Register with 6000 PLUshttps://preview.redd.it/8pbtopwvy24d1.jpg?width=720&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=4f697886b25aa3276b393bb3fbac753bedfc34e6 I recently got the chance to use the Royal 6000ML Cash Register, and I must say, it's quite the workhorse. This compact cash register is designed to streamline register operations, helping businesses run smoothly and accurately. One feature that really stood out is its ability to handle up to 6,000 price look-ups (PLUs). I frequently found myself selling items that were part of our standard inventory, and this made entering those items quick and easy. Additionally, the registers 36 departments for sales analysis by category allowed me to track sales trends, giving me valuable insight into what's selling and what's not. On the downside, though, the instructions could be better. While the programming itself is not too complicated once you get the hang of it, the manual could be more intuitive. Also, the 10-slot cash drawer felt a bit too large for a small business. Overall, the Royal 6000ML Cash Register is a decent piece of equipment, but it may not be the best choice for everyone. If your business requires a lot of SKUs and you need a quick and easy way to input data, this could be a good fit. However, if you're looking for something with a more intuitive user interface, you might want to look elsewhere. 🔗Classic Retro Cash Register Toyhttps://preview.redd.it/iqysfm8wy24d1.jpg?width=720&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=c3e80edf786e85ebaf99da6cb21409a0e1aa3496 I recently got my hands on the New Classic Toys 10650 Cash Register and let me tell you, it's been a hit in my household! My little one loves playing shop and this colorful cash register has been a key ingredient in her imaginative play. The first thing that caught my eye was its vibrant design - it's not your usual boring plastic toy. The cash register comes with some fun extras like a scanner, credit card, portable ATM, eight coins, and some paper money which have kept my child engaged for hours. One of the standout features for me was how it encourages creativity and hand-eye coordination skills. Seeing her role play with this toy has truly been a joy. Plus, it's suitable for kids aged 3 and up, making it perfect for many years of play. However, one small downside is the size of the product. It's not very big, especially if you have multiple kids playing together or if you want to store other toys along with it. Despite this minor inconvenience, the overall quality and fun factor of the New Classic Toys 10650 Cash Register more than make up for it. In conclusion, if you're looking for a toy that not only entertains but also helps develop cognitive skills in young children, then the New Classic Toys 10650 Cash Register is definitely worth considering. 🔗Royal MB30 Heavy-duty Metal Cash Drawer with USB Connectionhttps://preview.redd.it/7z9tsvlwy24d1.jpg?width=720&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=df232b60fe09669cfd07bb7c6de1b32df6054227 As a cashier at a bustling retail store, I've had the pleasure of using the Royal MB30 Cash Drawer with USB. Its heavy-duty metal construction immediately caught my eye, providing me with the peace of mind that comes with knowing my cash is safely tucked away. The spring-loaded easy glide drawer slid open smoothly every time, making it a breeze to retrieve change for customers. One feature that really stood out to me was the drawer lock with two keys. Not only does it keep my hard-earned cash secure, but it also gives me an extra layer of control over the drawer. Plus, there's an emergency release tab on the front, offering me an easy way to open the drawer if needed. However, there was one small issue I encountered with this cash drawer. The removable coin slot was a bit too loose for my liking. While it was easy to adjust the size of the slots for different coins, they didn't always stay perfectly in place. This wasn't a deal-breaker for me, though, as the benefits of this cash drawer far outweighed this minor inconvenience. Overall, I've thoroughly enjoyed using the Royal MB30 Cash Drawer with USB in my daily work routine. Its robust construction, easy-to-use features, and compatibility with various POS systems have made it a reliable asset in my cash handling tasks. I'd highly recommend this cash drawer to anyone in need of a secure, efficient solution for their retail or restaurant business. 🔗Royal Alpha 7000ml Cash Registerhttps://preview.redd.it/pnhvy63xy24d1.jpg?width=720&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=cc6e2b59f1c03688f80949db72a10035bf25174b As a small business owner, I've been using the Royal Alpha 7000ml Cash Register for several weeks now, and it's been quite the rollercoaster ride. The dual thermal printers are incredibly fast and quiet, making the transaction process smoother and less chaotic. Plus, the running journal alongside the receipt printer has been an unexpected lifesaver in keeping track of sales. The large 10-line LCD display and alphanumeric keyboard are a breeze to navigate, making it a snap to program and customize the register to fit my specific needs. However, the SD card slot for data transfers was a game-changer for efficient accounting. On the downside, the instruction manual for programming was quite lacking in detail, leaving me to figure out a lot on my own. They should have made instructions more clear and comprehensive, especially for first-time users. Also, the "no sale" button was non-functional, which was quite frustrating. However, overall, the Royal Alpha 7000ml Cash Register has proven to be sufficient for my small cafeteria-style restaurant. The balance of features and minor inconveniences make it a good choice, but the learning curve can be steep for first-time users.
