Wetshaving - isn't all shaving wet? Somewhat. Wetshaving is how barbers used to get the ultrasmooth shave of legends. The secret isn't more blades and more canned goo but a single wicked edge. Shaving is 50+ days of a woman's life and 85+ for a man's. Do you want to spend that time hating or enjoying what you are doing? The better way is wetshaving; come and see what "they" didn't want you to know.

2024.06.02 07:49 bottomroma Trouble with Core Beliefs of People

Hey folks, tiny bit of a read but I feel as if going here is a good thing to get some opinions on my view.
So ever since I was a kid I've had this reinforced core belief that are people are evil. Not just surface level wise. Truly deep down to the core evil. Seeing abuse, experiencing many forms of manipulation, seeing history, the state of the world since the dawn of time, personal interactions and traumatic events. I've just had this belief that everyone is out for themselves in a negative light. Greed, lust, power, and much more are such horrible motivators for these things, and it breaks me every night and unmotivated me to move forward in my life. ( not taking my own life ) these things make me believe, whats the point if everyone is so malicious and out to get me? Or what if I become an evil person that ruins others lives? I live in fear of that daily. Also yes I do have anxiety and depression and my therapist thinks I might have possible ptsd that is contributing to all this.
Although people no matter how nice are horrifying and I always need a barrier to protect myself, even with my own family.
It feels as if this isn't what God wants of me? That God might wish for me to bring joy and light by being an example of a Christ follower and brightening this world. To break away these chains of worry and doubt. Constant, minute by minute fear and numbness gone in breakthroughs. But man how can I start ya know?
I try my best to be nice when no one is looking kinda mentality. Pick up trash when it's not my job, organize something that I know needs to be done. That kinda stuff. And I don't wanna pat myself on the back and seem like a bragging goof saying "oh hey I try all these things" but I never feel reward, even from deep kind hearted thank yous. They have started to become numb feelings masked with happiness due to this feeling of people are evil and they want something from me.
I noticed all this happening after a traumatic event that happened months ago which I'm only now starting to see is actually impacting me more than I thought it would.
TLDR woke up at 2am to glass breaking, screaming and someone trying to open my door. Fearing for my life I grabbed my gun quietly and called 911 after realizing it was my roomate on drugs. Was a whole deal, blood everywhere from roomie breaking things in appt, and police having to restrain him and take him to ER. Threats and everything. Moved same day. Next apt had bug people show up 2 weeks in lease unannounced and chill out downstairs and try and open my door. So I sat in the corner of my room and cried silently for hours thinking my roomate came back or something way worse. I just froze. Happened another time. Decided to move states back home because of this.
This truly solidified all my fears, and more from before. New experiences are hard to create at the moment to combat past one's, I'm truly spiraling and becoming afraid of everything.
Any biblical advice on this homies? Sorry for the word vomit and talking ya'll. Just needed to give context.

2024.06.02 07:48 RollingaDice 24 [M4F] Sydney (AUS) *Insert funny and eye catching title here*

When deciding to write this, I had to reconcile an issue; how do I advertise myself to you when I don't actually like who I am right now? The best answer I could come to was that I should just be open and hope that it resonates with someone :)
So I'll say all the boring stuff now to get it out of the way; I'm a 24 y/o living in Sydney, working in accounts. I'm 6'2, average body size, caucasian with brown hair and eyes. I'm happy to trade pics to verify if we click too. In terms of what I'm looking for physically, I'm not too picky at all. In fact, the only preference I have is that you aren't heavily overweight (chubby is fine!). Although that said, I suppose if you must know my 'type', it's girls with glasses.
So a bit more about me; I'm a bit of a nerd. I read manga in my spare time, I play video games when I can (games like ck3, hollow knight, Pokemon, those kinds of games, not so much COD or CS:GO) and I like a bunch (and hate a bunch) of Marvel movies. I also to play sports, used to play Aussie Rules and basketball in high school and now soccer in a Sunday league. So it'd be really nice to meet someone I can talk to about the hobbies we share, although I doubt we NEED to have hobbies in common if we click, it's just a bonus I think. That said I would love to discord and chill if we click, maybe watch some anime or play a game together?
I also wanna write a little bit about why I'm posting on here, I want to be fully open about my desires and aspirations from this post. I'm quite an introvert, although I tend to open up around a bit around friends. Speaking of which, I don't have too many of them. I have just a few close friends and that's pretty much it. I'd love that special someone to end up being my best friend, as cliche as that sounds. Someone I can just be myself with, who loves me for who I am, again quite cliche I suppose. I do have troubles really opening myself up to new people, and part of deciding to post this is with the goal of getting better at talking to strangers (although hopefully we're not strangers for long :). Hopefully you're someone that lives close enough that we could consider meeting if we really like each other.
So yeah, that's about it I think. Thanks for reading all the way through this, hopefully I didn't just ramble. If you happen to somehow like anything in this post, feel free to message, my dms are open :)

The Odin Works Tunable Low-Profile Gas Block is a standout accessory that takes the hassle out of tuning your rifle. Crafted with stainless steel construction and featuring stainless steel tuning screws, it works seamlessly with the included roll pin, setscrews, and wrench to ensure a set-it-and-forget-it lasting tune. Compatible with 0.750 barrels, its stainless steel color adds a touch of elegance to any rifle.
During my time using this gas block, I found the process of fine-tuning my rifle incredibly smooth and intuitive. The ease of use allowed me to easily achieve the desired level of pressure from the gas tube, resulting in a significantly smoother cycling and improved accuracy.
One small drawback I noted was that the gas block seemed to be slightly larger than expected, making it difficult to install in my handguard. However, this minor inconvenience was overshadowed by the ease of use and the significant performance improvements I experienced after tuning my rifle.
Overall, the Odin Works Tunable Low-Profile Gas Block is a reliable and effective accessory designed to enhance the performance of your rifle. Its user-friendly features and sleek design make it a standout choice for even the most discerning rifle enthusiasts.

🔗Ballistic Low Profile .936" Gas Block for AR15, Black Melonite Finish

https://preview.redd.it/obuw7f7dj34d1.jpg?width=720&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=f6b18b96d378f1d9d557a3086040c87b184a417d

I've been using the Ballistic Lo-Pro Gas Block for quite some time now, and I must say, it's been quite the experience. As an avid shooter, I've always been on the lookout for gas blocks that can handle the 243 Ar barrel and this one sure fits the bill.
The first thing that stood out to me was its low profile design, which makes it a great fit for most AR15s. I've often found myself in situations where a high-profile gas block gets in the way, but with Ballistic, that's never an issue.
But what I loved the most about this gas block is its durable Melonite finish. It's not just for looks, either. This finish has been helping me maintain the gas block's performance even after weeks of harsh use.
However, there's one thing that didn't quite meet my expectations. I've noticed that sometimes, the screws may need to be tightened further to prevent any wobbling. It's nothing a little extra patience can't fix, but it's a minor inconvenience nonetheless.
All in all, the Ballistic Lo-Pro Gas Block has been a solid addition to my AR15. Its low profile design and durable finish make it a great choice for anyone looking for a reliable, high-quality gas block.

As a beverage enthusiast, I was recently in search of a reliable CO2 cylinder for my home bar setup. That's when I came across this recertified 15 lb steel CO2 cylinder. The sturdy, used steel construction caught my eye, and its competitive pricing was certainly a bonus.
During my first use, it was clear that the cylinder had been tested and refinished to ensure a long life and performance. The grey, rust-resistant paint finish added not only an aesthetic appeal but also peace of mind in terms of its durability. Of course, there was a CO2 CGA320 valve installed, which made connectivity and usage an easy, hassle-free task.
However, my experience with this cylinder wasn't without its drawbacks. I noticed slight variations in dimensions when compared to other cylinders. It was also disappointing to find out that the hydro test hadn't been done within the recommended time frame. Nonetheless, the cylinder still seemed to work effectively.
Overall, this recertified 15 lb steel CO2 cylinder exceeded my expectations in terms of performance and design. While it did have certain drawbacks, it served as a reliable and affordable source of CO2 that I could count on for my beverages, hydroponics, and even aquariums.

In my experience, the Hobart Argon/CO2 Shielding Gas Cylinder was a small yet mighty option for my MIG welding needs. The 20 cu.
ft. cylinder was easy to handle and transport, making it perfect for my portable rig.
The gas itself performed well, providing excellent shielding and clean weld appearance. However, one downside I encountered was the difficulty in finding a place to refill the cylinder.
It seemed that not all welding supply stores offered refills, which was a bit inconvenient for me. Nevertheless, the Argon/CO2 Shielding Gas Cylinder served as a reliable backup for my main tank, and the small size made it a great choice for quick projects or when on the go.

One of the standout features of this forend is its compatibility with low-profile gas blocks and the ease of installation. Although it comes with a rather unimpressive packaging, I was happy to find the handguard undamaged and ready to use. It fits perfectly with Magpul QD and fits like a glove thanks to its MLOK compatibility.
However, one downside I experienced was the weight of the product. At 5.6oz, it might feel a bit heavier than some other options in the market. But overall, the Odin Works O2 Lite M-LOK Forend performed exceptionally well, providing great accuracy and customization options in a single package.

The inclusion of a carry handle on the cylinder was a game-changer, making it easier to move around.
What also impressed me was the new CGA320 valve it comes with. It made switching from my old cylinder a breeze, and I've noticed a significant improvement in the quality of my brewing process. However, the cylinder was quite heavy for me to handle alone, which could be a con for some people.
Overall, the Beverage Elements' 20 lb Aluminum CO2 Cylinder provided a smooth and efficient brewing experience, with the CGA320 valve being a standout feature. What is an A2 Gas Block?

An A2 Gas Block (also known as A2 gas reduction) is a device used to regulate the flow of gas in firearms, particularly in rifle or shotgun systems. Its primary purpose is to ensure a steady gas flow, thus improving accuracy, reliability, and overall performance of the firearm. The A2 Gas Block is an upgrade from the traditional A1 Gas Block and offers several enhancements.

What are the benefits of using an A2 Gas Block?

The A2 Gas Block offers several advantages:
  • Improved accuracy: By regulating the gas flow, it helps to reduce the recoil felt by the shooter, resulting in more precise shots.
  • Better reliability: An A2 Gas Block enhances the reliability of the firearm by ensuring consistent gas flow, even in harsh conditions.
  • Enhanced performance: Combined with other upgrades, an A2 Gas Block can significantly improve the overall performance of your firearm, making it more efficient and effective on the range or in the field.

Which firearms can benefit from using an A2 Gas Block?

An A2 Gas Block can be used on various firearms designed to shoot 5.56mm NATO or similar caliber ammunition, such as:
  • AR15/M4
  • AR10/M1A
  • AR9
  • And other compatible firearms

Is installation easy?

Yes, installing an A2 Gas Block is relatively simple and can be done by following the manufacturer's instructions. Most upgrades require minimal tools, and the process typically involves unscrewing the existing gas block and replacing it with the new A2 Gas Block.

What is the pricing range for A2 Gas Blocks?

The pricing for A2 Gas Blocks can vary depending on the brand, quality, and features. On average, they can range from $30 to $60, although prices may be different according to the specific model and retailer.

Do I need any other upgrades alongside the A2 Gas Block?

While the A2 Gas Block offers significant improvements on its own, integrating it with other high-quality upgrades can further enhance the performance and durability of your firearm. Some popular upgrades include barrels, triggers, and handguards, but the specific upgrades will depend on your desired outcome and the type of firearm being used.

2024.06.02 07:40 fightmejeffbezos_ I’m a new plant parent and I just found out I’m going to be a plant grandparent??

I’m a new plant parent and I just found out I’m going to be a plant grandparent??
So I got this lemon lime a few months ago and it was my first plant ever. I’m ngl I got it because I thought it was pretty, I didn’t do any research to see that it was a moderately difficult plant to care for. I spent a lot of time learning how to care for it and despite me repotting it horribly (first repot ever) eventually it ended up growing leaves! I was over the moon and now this plant is my baby and I’m terrified of hurting it.
Anyways the other day I saw that there were leaves growing out of the soil? Is this a separate plant or is this just how they grow more leaves? I’m trying to do research online but nothing is helping me. Do I need to repot or should I just let it do its thing? I’m worried about that leaf that’s growing on the edge of the pot. I also feel like obviously she’s happy to maybe I shouldn’t touch her. This overthinker thanks you in advance for any advice!
Bonus pic is from tonight, she started actually praying a few weeks ago and tonight is the best I’ve seen 😍

2024.06.02 07:36 Lopsided_Director321 Story I Wrote a few Years Ago— what do you think? Should I persue this?

Inebriated Conversations
After eight long and grueling hours, we began our rapid descent from the heavens. I never really got the: “did it hurt when you fell from heaven” pickup line until we hit the tarmac. The force of the impact nearly knocked my head into the seat in front of me, so fuck yeah, it hurt when I fell from heaven. I’d imagine even Lucifer himself had a softer landing than we did. He also didn’t have to endure the stomach churning and nauseating food that was served on the plane, but I digress, at least we had finally reached our destination. A land not so far away that only varied in appearance, but the truth was this mystical and magical land, deep down, was no different from the place I grew up or attend college. As I waited in purgatory, the security line, I began wondering if I was dreaming. Was I really in London or even a different country for that matter? The line, which seemed so much longer than the European and the U.K., line was filled with fellow Americans. Perhaps they are still acrimonious about us beating them in the Revolutionary War, so they decided that this was ample punishment for our victory. Whatever the case, we finally made it through security, then collected our bags. I saw my relatively new bag with the bowtie on the handle and was relieved that it had not been lost or left in the United States. We met our tour guide, Emma, who at first glance seemed to be very different. She had an unusual hair cut that was much shorter than ones most woman her age would have, but I soon learned that her appearance, much like London’s, would not be any indication of what lies beyond. When we finally escaped from limbo, the airport, we were put on a coach bus, and taken to our hotel. I was exhausted and in need of a shower, but all I could do was drop my luggage off, then swiftly return to the lobby. As we stood outside in the crisp, refreshing air, we were handed our subway passes, or as they say, “tube passes.” We followed our guide, Emma, on a short walk to the underground. When our group finally descended the stairs and made our way to the map, a map Virgil couldn’t even navigate, we began our journey that involved the same punishment as those afforded to people in the eighth level of hell. We walked endlessly, 10.6 miles, and viewed the most popular tourist attractions London had to offer. I was surrounded by beautiful statues, fantastic architecture, and attractive people whose dialect could captivate almost anyone. At first, like everyone else, I was completely and utterly captivated by it all, because it was a completely different world. Our group finished the day with a mile and a half walk to the Globe Theatre, where we saw Shakespeare’s play, Comedy of Errors. My fellow students and I stood, as our professors sat comfortably watching the play. During the production, all I could think about was my numb legs and my aching feet. I tried drowning the pain with a few glasses of overly priced and nasty wines, but my attempt was to no avail. For once in my life, I knew what it was like to experience actual physical agony, not just the tedious and never-ending emotional kind. It wasn’t the lake of fire or some frozen wasteland, but that shit was still excruciating. After the play, we struggled to find a new passageway to the hot and crowded underworld, the tube, but luckily, I had service on my phone, so we found it. We finally made it back to the hotel around eleven in the evening. After a long day of flying and an excess of walking, I had never been as excited as I was to climb into a bed that was, quite frankly, too small for my six-foot-five physique. To anyone reading this, don’t worry, I’m not planning on giving a day to day synopsis of what I saw while I was abroad, because the sights aren’t what truly matter. I mean, I could just rant about Buckingham Palace and its beauty, Windsor Castle and its enormous layout, the Tower of London and its history, the Natural History Museum and its priceless artifacts, Stratford upon Avon and Shakespeare’s life, Oxford and it’s impressive library, Cornwall and its tranquil beaches, the Minack Theatre and its sublimity, or the Ashmolean Museum and its Jeff Koons exhibition, but that shit has no genuine meaning to it. I’m not going to waste your time by writing about some tourist sites that you could see in almost any travel magazine about the U.K., so if that’s what you are looking for stop reading. I suggest you pick up a travel magazine and read it until you are content, but if you want to read something real, then I suggest you continue. The reality is, the things I’ll take from this trip are the inebriated conversations I had with others. I not only gave these people advice about their lives; I learned something new about my own. I, ***** *******, am the Barstool Prophet, who descended from the heavens prepared to spout wisdom and retardation. Before I divulge the serious and deep conversations I experienced abroad, I want to let you know that the other person and I were under the influence of alcohol. I know what you are thinking, but alcohol has been a part of human culture since 7,000 B.C.; to put that into perspective, man invented alcohol before the wheel. From what I've seen in my lifetime some people drink to forget, some drink to remember, some drink to punish themselves, and some drink to converse with others. I fall into the latter category, but while I was in the U.K., I encountered people whose purpose for drinking was similar to mine as well as people that would fall in the other categories. I never really got the saying, "It's better to be a glass half full person, than a glass half empty person." I get the whole positivity aspect of the saying; however, I'd trust a "glass half empty person" far more, because they'd just order another drink. I am in no way trying to promote alcoholism; in reality, I am just trying to explain how alcohol can fuel an in-depth conversation. The Latin proverb "In Vino Veritas" states that "In Wine there is Truth"; wiser words have never been spoken. Alcohol allows people to speak their hidden thoughts and desires, especially to a stranger like me.
Emma
As I stated earlier, Emma was our tour guide, who sported a relatively short and somewhat masculine haircut. Luckily, I had consumed enough alcohol at the time of her arrival to ask her why she chose that specific style. After giving me a vague: “because I like it” response, she clutched her glass of wine and forced it down. We talked about her occupation and how lonely traveling could get, but she seemed like she was familiar with the feeling of loneliness. She asked me what I wanted to do when I grew up, and I said, “I want to be a lawyer.” Emma slammed her glass down and began to laugh hysterically; she said, “Seriously?” I found her response quite peculiar until she revealed that her ex-husband was a lawyer. He was devoted to his job and always worked long hours, which did not bother her, at first. I surmise that his lack of interest in her is what led to their separation. After a long moment of silence, I gulped my drink down and gained the courage to ask: “do you think the relationship you had with him prepared you for this job?” She paused and began to think intently. She took a sip of her wine, laughed, and said, “I guess so, that’s one positive thing I got out of the relationship.” The chat continued with talk of food, politics, weather, and other small-talk topics, but then we somehow made it back to her haircut. Emma told me that she was bi-sexual, which, despite the tell-tell signs in her appearance, isn’t something she shares with most people. I told her that homophobia and racism is a major part of the culture that I grew up in, which surprised her. She couldn’t comprehend how someone with that upbringing could be so openminded. I responded with one word and one word only, “Self-Awareness.” I came to the realization that in life people are consciously and unconsciously molded by those around them, but at the end of the day, it is their choice to decide who they are and what they believe. Emma’s marriage may not have been picture perfect, but she was still able to take something positive from it. As much as we don’t want to admit it, even the worst of our relationships impact us in a positive way.
Phillip Goldsmith
Before I get into this incredibly intense and somewhat depressing story, I’d like to describe its setting. I was sitting on a red velvet couch, drinking Jack Daniels Honey in a tall glass with one ice cube. I know what you are thinking, but I was not in a strip club. Our hotel’s game room/ bar area looked like an American strip club, not that I’ve ever been in one. Like seriously, if a few poles and dancers were added, I’d feel like I was at the Red Carpet, which is a strip club near where I live, but again, I may or may not have been there. I had finished half my bottle when Phil walked in, and I could immediately tell that he was hurting on the inside. Excluding dumbass frat guys, not very many people drink vodka straight out of the bottle with the intention of finishing it. He sat next to us, so I reached my hand out and said, “Hey man, what’s your name?” He said, “Hello, I am Phillip Goldsmith.” I responded as anyone would and said, “That’s a badass name!” We talked about life, love, and women as most guys do. We were both close to finishing our bottles when I noticed a tattoo on his arm that said, “Harry.” Who was this Harry? He certainly didn’t strike me as a Royalist, so I knew he didn’t just get the prince’s name on his arm for shits and giggles. I gulped down a few more sips of my drink and slowly placed it back down. I looked him in the eyes and said, “who is Harry?” His response shook every bone in my body to their core. After holding his tears back and ingesting some more of his vodka, Phil looked at me and said that “Harry was his son.” Was? He continued speaking, and I learned that Harry died three days after he was born. That tragic loss would result in a few other loses in his life, his wife, and his faith. Phil told me that he used to go to his grave on his birthday and Christmas, but he couldn’t do it anymore. He didn’t see a point in it any longer. Surprisingly I felt the urge to tell him that “God loved him and that he would see his son again.” I am in no way a prolific believer; I’d probably put myself in the wayward son category. However, something came over me, and I felt like I needed to tell him that. We had both finished our drinks, and as we were saying our goodbyes, he thanked me. I don’t know why, but he did. My encounter with Phil taught me that when you meet someone, you don’t know what they are going through, but through love and compassion, you can have a positive impact on them.
Lexie
Lexie is a beautiful and intelligent young lady from Kansas City, Missouri. We met and chatted throughout the week because she was a part of our EF group. One night, after Lexie and I had more than our share of wine, we began to talk about our plans for the future. Before I tell this story, you must know, I have the unfortunate handicap of flirtation when I drink, but she was able to move past my impulsive outburst. I think my accidental comments about her beautiful eyes, stunning smile, and cute laugh allowed her to open up to me. Despite what you are thinking, I like to flirt because I enjoy making women smile, I don’t always do it for self-serving reasons. Anyways, as I said, we started discussing our plans for the future, but one can’t divulge their future in an inebriated state without discussing their past. I gave my whole spiel about wanting to be a prosecutor who would later become a congressman, then a Supreme Court or D.C. Circuit Court justice. She said, “Wow! That’s quite the plan. I want to go into Law as well.” I hastily responded by saying, “That’s sexy. I could see it.” We both laughed, but then she said, “I don’t know though, Law School is hard.” She didn’t strike me as a person who couldn’t handle a challenge, so I asked, “Why do you think you wouldn’t excel? You present yourself as someone who does.” She tried not to blush, then sipped her extremely sweet white wine. I know it was sweet because I made the unfortunate decision of trying it; it was so sweet that even a rock would get a hangover from it. Anyways, she started talking about high school and how people thought she was unintelligent. I laughed and thought about how I experienced that very same thing. I said, “Fuck that, screw them. God, high school girls are mean. Do you actually believe that crap?” She giggled and said, “Of course not, but it’s still in the back of my head.” I grabbed another beer from Raj, the bartender at the hotel. Yes, we were on a first name basis; did you expect anything less from the barstool profit? I sat back down and leaned in, intent on getting this point across to Lexie. I sipped my beer, ever so casually, and said, “Listen, we all remember the immature negatives of our high school existence, but this is now. At some point, we have to grow up into the people we want to be, not who everyone tells us to be.” She then asked, “Why are you so wise?” (You are probably thinking “sure she did,” but I swear that is what she said; I’m not a narcissist using creative license to praise myself.) I accredited it to my amazing parents as well as the shitty ex-girlfriends, situations, and friends I had experienced. We continued talking about a lot of random things like abortion, racism in America, and other pseudo-political topics. It was 3 am. when we finally decided it was time to go to bed. I hugged her and told her to use those negative voices as motivation. Again, I was thanked for the conversation, which, at this point, seems to be a normal thing for strangers to do. My conversation with Lexie made me realize that, when we travel, the baggage we carry isn’t only the physical kind. That tedious and deep emotional baggage also comes along for the journey. Most people, who travel somewhere, will lose a physical part of their baggage, like a sock, shirt, or something of that nature. Lexie did something most could not and do not, she left a piece of her emotional baggage, the night I spoke to her in the bar.
Szymon
Szymon was in the bar area when I got to the hotel. He had a very interesting accent, which was far different from the ones I had heard that week, so I asked, “Where are you from?” He said, in a relatively drunken manner, “I am from Poland. You’re from America, aren’t you.” I responded with a firm: “Yes.” The conversation proceeded with small talk, but as I had a few more beers, the topics shifted to more serious topics. I was recently in a Holocaust history class, so of course, the first serious thing I asked was if he had been to Warsaw to see the Concentration Camps. He paused in silence, so I said, “Talk about hell on Earth, the holocaust was some fucked up shit.” After saying that he seemed to gain the courage to tell me that he was Jewish. He told me about the things his parents endured as children and how his grandfather had died in a concentration camp. He told me how he had rejected his faith after hearing these horrible stories. He said to me, “What could faith do for someone. The Jews have been persecuted countless times for it.” I understood where he was coming from, but at the same time, I didn’t. He had real reasons for his existential doubt, and I truly could not say the same. I got a shot of vodka from Raj; threw it back, and said, “Our faith shapes our decisions in life, even if we tell ourselves it doesn’t.” He sat pondering my words, but he seemed bored of the discussions about faith. I quickly changed the subject and asked him, “Why are you in London?” I learned that he travels all over continental Europe cleaning asbestos out of old buildings. I responded as any young person would and said, “that’s cool. I’d love to travel all over Europe.” He said, “it might be for a young single guy, but I hardly see my kids. I honestly wouldn’t be surprised if my wife cheated on me.” I couldn’t believe he would say something that personal, but then again, that’s what alcohol does. I suggested that he quit the job and find one closer to home. He laughed and said, “Ugh… you sound like my wife right now.” I bought him another beer and said, “maybe you should listen to her.” He looked at me and said, “maybe you are right ha-ha.” My conversation with Szymon taught me that it doesn’t matter how much money you make or how many places you get to travel on the company’s dime. What matters in life is family and the ones you love. By the time we stopped talking, I could hardly understand him, but he shook my hand and said, “have fun in London.” I laughed and said, “I will, call your wife tonight and tell her you love her.” He smiled and nodded, assuring me he would. It was time to leave, so I packed my things and got ready to go to the airport. I finally boarded my fiery chariot that would bring me back to the heavens. I forced down a few shots of Jack Daniels, closed my eyes, and wondered if the Barstool Prophet would have a second coming. Would I ever return to this amazing city and spout words of wisdom and retardation? Would I ever drink two whole liters of cider and wake up with a black eye? Well, that one is a definite no, but so many questions are left unanswered. Did I actually impact those that I talked to? Did they even remember the conversation? As much as I want to believe I did, I’ll never know. We don’t know what this life holds or what our encounters with strangers will yield; all we can do is give it our best shot and live like we are dying… (Que inspiring music).
Let me know if the foundation of this sardonic and surface level literature reference writing has potential… first ever post!

2024.06.02 07:34 Able-Buy7158 Amenity Behavior—Pool Season

Hello! I manage a mid-size (>300 unit) suburban garden community. Over the past handful of years we have had a noticeable demographic shift due to someone in our office who speaks Spanish, and now have a LARGE very social group of Spanish-speaking residents. Many of them have referred family and friends, which of course has benefited us with sustained occupancy. However, we are having repeated issues with conduct at our amenities, especially our large outdoor pool, and mostly with our Spanish-speaking subset of residents. I’ll be blunt: most complaints are from longer-term white residents who want to expect a quiet community pool experience, whereas our Spanish-speaking residents tend to be at the pool hanging with the 20 friends they know here, with music, loud conversation and in general, boisterous behavior that’s highly visible. (I know: this is a bit of a representation of the contrasts of culture, but that’s not the discussion I’m really getting at here).
So here’s my ask: tell me what your community does to keep people behaving respectfully that is working. Do you have a pool/amenity monitor? If so, are they there all hours that the pool is open? Do you have a system to check people in so you know who lives there, doesn’t bring extra guests, etc? How do you follow up on incidents without going insane trying to figure out who the offending resident was? Do you allow alcohol at your pools (we do in cans)? Speakers (we don’t)? Do you fine for violations (extra guests, glass at the pool, etc)? I’d love to hear all the things.
I’m starting to hate my job because the shitty behavior of some is causing me so much headache, but I am running out of ideas of how to address it—I might recognize 2 residents in a camera video with 30, and it feels like sending just those 2 lease violations is like trying to put out a house fire with a cup of water—the problem still continues.
Do we need to just chill out and accept that it’s human nature to misbehave, and maybe the expectations of a quiet pool are no longer the correct ones?
Thanks in advance!

🔗Compact and Durable AR10 Bipod for Enhanced Stability and Easy Deployment

While out on a hunting trip, I found my AR-15 platform was in dire need of a sturdy bipod to help stabilize my shots. That's when I came across the F. A. B. Defense AR Podium, an AR 10 bipod that fit perfectly on my weapon. The sleek design of the F. A. B. Defense AR Podium grabbed my attention immediately, with its compact and no-protruding-parts structure.
The convenience of the rapid deployment mechanism, which operates by the simple push of a button, was a game-changer on the battlefield. This FDE bi-pod was steady and durable, offering a much-needed steadiness to my shots.
Despite being lightweight, the F. A. B. Defense AR Podium proved to be quite strong and reliable due to its reinforced polymer composite construction. It saved me valuable rail space too, allowing me to explore other mounting options.
Installation was a breeze, as it needed no Gunsmith to complete, and the model even includes the AGR-43 pistol grip and Podium bi-pod. All these features of this AR 10 bipod made it suitable for my hunting trips and added stability to my shots.
Of course, like any product, there were some drawbacks. I felt that the rail space could be saved even further, and the deployment mechanism could have been quicker to actuate. But overall, the F. A. B. Defense AR Podium made my hunting experience much more enjoyable and stabilizing.

🔗Redline RL-2 3 Pin Dovetail Hunting Sight

https://preview.redd.it/hbxfmh12g34d1.jpg?width=720&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=e53cdbe7329eb53a1ece5033aeb34258550b2a1e
The Redline RL-2 3 Pin Dovetail Sight stands out among hunting sights, offering a unique blend of features and performance. Personally, I've found the sight to be a sturdy and reliable option for hunting in low light conditions. The 0.019 fiber optic pins are bright and easy to see, making it easier to track targets.
One feature I particularly appreciate is the tool-free locking adjustment knob. It allows for quick adjustments on the fly, without needing any additional tools. The enclosed fiber optic ring is a thoughtful addition, ensuring the pins remain protected and secure during transit or storage.
However, there are a couple of downsides to this sight. The middle pin is not as well-colored as one would expect, which might impact its ability to accurately represent yardage. Additionally, the dial wheel can become loose over time, which could lead to inconveniences during use.
Overall, the Redline RL-2 3 Pin Dovetail Sight is a solid choice for hunters looking for a reliable and low-profile sight. I would recommend this sight to those who prioritize ease of use and sturdiness, while being mindful of the potential issues with the middle pin and dial wheel.

🔗Precision AR-15 Sight Tool for Adjustments and Installation

https://preview.redd.it/leznrl12g34d1.jpg?width=720&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=fcac8e48cde559177638e40dd8da0f8030e32f5f

Having used the Midwest Industries MIA2ST sight tool wrench myself, I can say that it has become an invaluable tool in my daily life. Its precision machined build from stress-proof steel is impressive, ensuring durability and precision in every sight adjustment I make.
The square notches and knurled non-slip handle provide a secure and snug fit, making it easy for me to work with even in the most challenging conditions. However, I would have liked the inclusion of a more ergonomic handle for added comfort during long use.
Overall, this sight tool wrench for AR-15 is a worthwhile investment for anyone seeking a reliable and effective solution for sight adjustments.

🔗Williams WGOS Octagon Open Sight Base with Black Finish

I recently had the chance to try out the Williams WGOS-Octagon sight base for my hunting rifle. The sleek black design caught my attention, and the sturdy aluminum alloy gave me confidence in its durability. The sight base was easy to mount on my firearm, thanks to the provided 6x48 mounting screws. However, I had to drill and tap my rifle to make it compatible.
One of the features that stood out to me was the dovetailed elevation and windage adjustments. They allowed me to make precise adjustments to my aim quickly, which was essential for taking down a target at a distance. On the other hand, the sight base required the use of a separate Williams Rear Sight Blade, which I had to purchase separately.
Overall, the Williams WGOS-Octagon sight base provided me with a reliable and precise shooting experience. While it required some extra work to make it compatible with my rifle, the sleek design and adjustable features made it worth the effort.

The Redline RL-2 Bow Sight is a remarkable addition to my hunting gear. Its slim design and simple operation make it a reliable and lightweight companion during my hunting expeditions. The addition of the pin light and third axis gives this sight an edge over other options on the market.
While the included tapes might not work for everyone, it's a small price to pay for the overall functionality. Overall, the Redline RL-2 offers value for its cost and has made my hunting experiences more enjoyable.

I found the Real Avid Front Sight Adjuster Tool to be an essential addition to my AR15 arsenal. With its precision machined stainless steel build and durable black oxide coating, this tool is both sturdy and sleek, allowing for quick and easy sight adjustments. The non-slip texture provides a secure grip, keeping my adjustments accurate, even with the added pressure of applying gun dope.
The 4 pin front viewfinder adjustment (A2 style) and 5 pin front viewfinder adjustment (A1 style) compatibility make it versatile, ensuring that it can be used on various rifles. The compact size ensures portability, and its ergonomic design makes handling a breeze. Even after several uses, the Real Avid tool has proven to be a reliable and durable option that's well worth the investment.

However, one downside I encountered was that, at times, the tool can be a bit difficult to maneuver, especially in tight spaces. It took me a few tries before I got the hang of it. But once I did, it became seamless.
Overall, the Real Avid AR15 Front Sight Adjuster Pro is a fantastic addition to anyone's arsenal, providing an easy and reliable way to improve shooting accuracy. It's a tool that I will continue to use and recommend to fellow enthusiasts.

🔗Weather-Resistant Aluminum Garden Fence Posts

https://preview.redd.it/i8zjdhs3g34d1.jpg?width=720&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=47378e7e29354f51af369b2d727507a1214e183e
I recently came across these VidaXL fence posts and I must say, I was quite impressed with their durability and versatility. Made from a sturdy combination of aluminum and steel, these posts can withstand harsh weather conditions without any issues. The silver color fits perfectly with any garden setting and the sleek design never disappoints.
One of the most impressive features of these fence posts is their flexibility. The inserts in the post allow the fence to be made straight or turned at a 90-degree angle, making it a great addition to any garden. However, I did notice that they might be a bit heavy for some people to handle on their own, which could be a minor drawback.
Overall, the VidaXL aluminum fence posts are a solid choice for anyone looking to add a touch of elegance and strength to their garden. Highly recommend!

🔗Brushed Square Post for 4" Cable Spacing

https://preview.redd.it/9i56v384g34d1.jpg?width=720&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=d08e3ff607f15ca4c674325d04ab0091faa8e6aa
Ever since I started using the Muzata 42"x2"x2" Level-drilled Brushed Post 4, I've been amazed at the ease of installation. The pre-drilled level through holes make it a true plug-and-play setup, ensuring a sturdy and secure fit. It's perfect for both flat bottom and round handrails, adding an elegant touch to your living space. However, I did notice that it lacks any additional stabilizer posts, so for those who plan to exceed a 4-foot span, a separate one would be necessary.
Using the post felt like a natural extension to my handrail setup. The polished brushed surface finish adds a soft and elegant touch without compromising on durability. The handrail height is adjustable with 12 holes, allowing for flexible positioning around the house. Overall, my experience with the Muzata post has been positive, with only a minor inconvenience related to increasing the span without a stabilizer post. I would definitely recommend it to anyone in the market for a sturdy and sophisticated handrail solution.

🔗Stainless Steel Stationary Post Shelving for Dry and Humid Settings

https://preview.redd.it/bxazf1h4g34d1.jpg?width=720&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=070bdd6f8a6c05db3033e3355b6034c0a3673238
I recently tried out the Focus Foodservice FG086SS Post, a stainless steel 86-inch stationary post designed for storing shelves in both wet and dry settings. I was immediately impressed by its durability, as the stainless steel construction ensures it can withstand rigorous use without getting scratched, rusted, or corroded. And, bonus - it's super easy to clean.
One of the standout features was the height of the post, which made it compatible with plenty of shelving units in my restaurant. The grooves at 1-inch increments, numbered at 2-inch increments, and double grooved at 8-inch intervals, allowed for flexible adjustments that made shelf installation and adjustment a breeze.
However, one thing I noticed was that the zinc-plated leveling feet didn't sit perfectly level on the ground, which could be a concern for those looking for a stable base. Despite this minor inconvenience, overall, I found the Focus Foodservice FG086SS Post to be a reliable and sturdy addition to my restaurant's storage setup.

🔗SiteSelect Stationary Shelving Post for Easy Shelf Installation

https://preview.redd.it/hcwv89u4g34d1.jpg?width=720&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=68bc666c9c4bfbef9844a7851bf80f5e0fb0a3fc
I've been using the Super Erecta SiteSelect Stationary Shelving Post for a while now, and let me tell you, it's a game-changer for organizing my space. The chrome finish looks sleek and professional, adding a touch of elegance to any room. The SiteSelect posts are a lifesaver when it comes to adjusting shelves. The double groove every 8 inches makes it a breeze to line everything up neatly - no more fumbling around trying to figure out where everything goes.
One of the best features is the adjustable leveling foot. It ensures that your shelves are perfectly level, preventing any wobbly mishaps. I also love that there's an option for a mobile post without the leveling bolt assembly if you're using stem casters.
However, there are a couple of drawbacks. Firstly, the instructions could be a bit clearer, and secondly, the price might be a bit steep for some. But overall, I'd highly recommend this product for anyone looking to keep their storage area organized and looking great.

🔗Evolver Mounted Base Line Post for Durable Outdoor Fencing

https://preview.redd.it/9mj09i75g34d1.jpg?width=720&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=043cb9857bbdef364970349433ceed2db233591e
I recently discovered the Evolver Mounted Base Line Post Fortress, a versatile fencing solution that's been a game-changer for my outdoor space. The octagonal posts provide precise panel positioning, even in the most irregularly shaped yards. They come in handy when you need to mount the post above ground or on concrete surfaces. The installation process is a breeze, with the Evolver post fitting easily onto the sturdy steel base.
While the Evolver post is durable and resistant to UV, water, and weather, the warranties could be better - they're limited, not full-coverage. I wish for more detailed information about the installation process to ensure safety and stability, especially when mounting the system on pre-existing concrete slabs. Overall, the Evolver Mounted Base Line Post Fortress is a stylish and practical choice for anyone looking to elevate their fence game.

🔗Durable Aluminum Fence Posts for Weather-Resistant Garden Fences

https://preview.redd.it/odx0vql5g34d1.jpg?width=720&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=2c2b2c7d1034684a691c05d2d98c2be7eff4ae1b
When I decided to upgrade my garden fence, I came across the vidaXL Fence Posts. These aluminum 3-piece posts were a game-changer for my outdoor space. The silver color and aluminum-steel construction make them a sleek and sophisticated addition to my garden, while the dimensions and base size allow for compatibility with most fence boards.
One of the highlight features for me was the fact that these fence posts are UV-ray resistant and can withstand the harsh elements of the outdoors, meaning they won't fade away. I love that they are both weather-resistant and temperature stable, so they look as good as new even after years of exposure to the elements.
However, I did notice that the posts have a tendency to corrode over time, especially if they come into contact with moisture. I also found the installation process to be quite a challenge, as the inserts sometimes don't fit properly.
Overall, my experience with the vidaXL Fence Posts has been mostly positive, but they still have some areas for improvement. Nonetheless, they have dramatically boosted the visual appeal and functionality of my garden fence, and I would recommend them to anyone looking to upgrade their outdoor space.

2024.06.02 07:24 ActionBotYt_05 Does windows 3d mode works with 3d supported projector? Is it possible to watch movie in 3d with polarized 3d glass on that projector, or is it necessary to buy a 40$ to 60$ active shutter 3d glasses??

2024.06.02 07:23 ResponsibleAd2034 I was watching the On Ride POV of Tiana’s, and just wanted to share my opinion on it.

Obviously I haven’t ridden it yet. This is based solely off the video, so as with all opinions, including those that aren’t fully realized, take it with a grain of salt. So I’ll start off by saying, in my opinion, it’s a tad overhated already. Which I suppose may be a hot take. Princess and The Frog is up there with some of my favourite Disney movies. Maybe in the top ten, personally. The characters are great, the animation is great, the songs are great. Etc etc. Love the darn thing.
In my opinion, the animatronics are amazing! The facade and lighting is beautiful. The songs are the songs from the movie, so I already loved them to begin with. I also think it has a very charming atmosphere. I don’t love, but am into the Special Spice song. I listened to it over and over to see if I would get bored, or it would sour, but nah, I think it’s a fun song. Except for the gumbo line at the start, kinda corny, though I like the sentiment. A lot of people have said there’s a bunch of dead space, which I don’t disagree with. However, I do think that dead space is extremely well decorated, and elevated by the music. Plus, Splash Mountain had a lot of dead space too. I think, animatronic wise, they seemed to opt for quality over quantity. There are far less animatronics, yes, but the ones that are there are significantly better than the ones from splash mountain. Their expressions and fluidity are out of this world, in my opinion. I may be wrong though. Could have just been budget reasons.
My least favourite part may be the part where we’re shrunk, simply cuz I’m not a fan of the new version of Dig A Littler Deeper. Omg this song is literally one of my favourite ever Disney songs, simply because the choir included in the Chorus adds SO MUCH SOUL, and I feel like I’m having an ethereal experience whenever I listen to it. But the one in the ride has none of that, it’s purely normal vocals and the instrumentals, but more jazzy? Not a fan. The frog players are cool tho.
A lot of people have said the lift hill was boring. Which yeah, I can agree with. It seems to weigh itself entirely on the mama Odie animatronic. Which, as great as it is, probably can’t hold the most important moment of the ride on its shoulders. I don’t agree with the fact that the ride needed to have Doctor Facilier tho. He’s one of my favourite villains, and that’s song is top notch, and the lift hill would have been great with “Are You Ready.” Blasting over the speakers. But if they really wanted the ride to take place after the film, shoehorning him in would have made no sense at all. So as much as I would have liked to see it, his absence doesn’t bother me that much. But even without him they could have done better with the lift hill part, even just a few more animatronics or screen’s, something. I think the finale scene after the drop is pretty much perfect, so no thoughts on that.
Anyways, overall, just by the video, I’ll give it an 8/10. I don’t personally think it’s better nor worse than splash mountain, which depending on who you talk to could be a bad thing, good thing, or glass half full situation.
I do think a lot of the fans are just gonna look at it through the lens of: “It replaced Splash Mountain.” Which isn’t a bad thing, but I don’t think that’s fair on the ride itself. It was made by imagineers with a different vision.
Like I said before tho. Take this opinion, like any other opinion the ride will get, with a grain of salt. You hate it to the ends of the earth? That’s fine! You adore it? That’s fine. You don’t love nor hate it, that’s fine too!
Have a good day everyone! Can’t wait to ride it myself, looks like a lot fun.
P.S. I posted this in the WDW subreddit and every post I’ve made recently has been removed. Then the post I made to ask about that was removed as well. Has anyone else in the same subreddit had this problem?

2024.06.02 07:22 John-fandango How do I get this off to replace bulb

How do I get this off to replace bulb
Howdy, posting this in NZ because it's probably the same on on heaps of houses here. I need to replace the light bulb in my outside light(pictured) but I can't figure out how to get it off. Looks like it should be a simple unscrew, leftie, but when I try that the whole white bottom part goes around and comes loose and then when I turn it back it goes back in. So wondering if perhaps this light comes of in a different way? Anyone have one similar and know how they work? Maybe i need somekindabtool to turn the glass cover off? I don't want to break, I can't afford an electrician. Thanks heaps

2024.06.02 07:21 RedditIsTrashLma0 Just beat this game. My thoughts.

I thought this game looked pretty generic at first. I saw a few youtube videos propping up the game up but I was still sceptical. I was also tired of roguelikes in general by this point and was convinced that it is a mediocre genre that is plagued with fodder mobs and repetition. But a week ago I saw that it was on sale for only about £4 so I thought "sure why not?".
The introduction at the museum felt slow. Then I started my first few runs. I wasn't used to the lack of inviniciblity frames when you get hit for one. I also found it a bit uncomfortable how scarce gold was. But then I played again and again until the newness wore off and I finally adjusted and got into a flow state with this game.
And all I can say is....
HOLY FUCKING SHIT. I was NOT expecting this level of peak. This game has singlehandedly rejuvenated my faith in the entire genre. Heck, in video games as an entire medium. Video games like this are why I live. This game is objectively a 10/10 and I will eat anyone who says otherwise.
Why?
First off, the difficulty feels brutally honest. Fair but honest. Unlike 99% of games you can't just abuse invincibility frames to back away from enemies when you get hit. You have to make sure you don't put yourself into a situation where you can get hit. This move alone was extremely bold on the devs part but it made all the difference in making the combat feel exciting and difficult to players who enjoy a challenge.
Mobs are very smart, strong, fast and all around ruthless. The basic enemies aren't much of a problem but the beefier realm exclusive soldiers usually have a trick up their sleeve like the wind knights evading your attacks and instantly teleporting behind you or the earth knights unexpectedly guarding your attack. Or enemies with reflect shields. Or that asshole cyclops enemy who can stunlock you into losing like half your health with his laser. You have to constantly stay on top of them and be aware of your surroundings(nearest escape route, positioning yourself away from pits, etc) and your cooldowns because one slip up can lead to you being stunlocked into losing half your health. Mobs move very fast and can even teleport around you, forcing you to stay on the move and make quick decisions on the fly. The fact that you do not always have access to any given spell in your arsenal due to the cooldown system makes you hyper cautious of every decision you make during combat as well as you might need access to a certain spell if you get cornered, further reinforcing this intense, razors edge feel to the combat. Mobs are brutal but at the same time they aren't damage sponges. This is probably the biggest problem I have with some other roguelikes like Warm Snow, Astral Ascent and to an extent Hades. In order to compensate for how busted your damage output can get due to the chaotically unrestrained progression in those games, they design the mobs to get exponentially tankier(without as much of a buff to the aggressiveness and damage output) as the run progresses to the point where most fights you're just mashing the same attack buttons and going through the motions until you reach the next boss. This game nailed mob design and other games should take note.
The bosses are phenomenal. I think the wind and lightning boss were kind of cheap but still very enjoyable. What really sets the bosses apart in this game from other bosses is similar to what makes the mobs great. They have relatively low health but have relentless attack patterns that are hard to dodge and move fast, making battles feel exciting rather than just drawn out and tedious. You can clear out each boss in about a dozen seconds if you're skilled enough but you risk losing a lot of health if you go on the offensive more.
I think part of what allows the combat to be so great is how "controlled" the progression is, both in and out of runs. This is by far the most balaThis isn't one of those roguelikes where you can easily come across broken upgrades or string together broken synergies and just steamroll everything. It's almost impossible to do that with how low the stat buffs are across the board for relics. For example, if you choose the relic which increases max health, you get 50 points of health, increasing it from 500 to merely 550. In Hades(which in all due respect, is relatively balanced for roguelike standards), your health increasing keepsake increases your health by about 50%. There's also the fact that your average damage buff relic only increases by about 10%, sometimes even lower. At most during any given run you can expect about 30-50% of a damage buff maximum whereas that percentage increase number escalates into the hundreds if not thousands(Warm Snow, i'm looking at you!) in other roguelikes. The currency(Gold) is also handed out very scarcely, pushing the player to make careful decisions with how they spend their money. These are just a few examples, I could spend all day comparing how balanced WOL is with other roguelikes.
As for meta progression, it's basically just collect new spells and relics to equip for your run. You don't level up your health, damage, speed or anything like that. The way I see meta progression in roguelikes is a two edged sword. On one hand there is a feel of instant gratification to using points acquired during your run to make yourself overpowered, allowing you to sweep through encounters that were difficult beforehand. But on the other hand this sort of undermines the point of playing roguelikes. You aren't really getting any better that way. You aren't getting more skilled at the game and making use of trial and error to overcome obstacles that once seemed insurmountable. This is what I love about WOL. It doesn't spoil you. It doesn't let you just "cheat" through the campaign. You have to EARN your victories through blood, sweat and tears and it feels ever so rewarding when you finally make a breakthrough with your own skill and hard work, nothing more. That type of satisfaction is far greater than the cheap, visceral thrill of activating nodes on a skill tree.
Also last thing, I think the level design is great. It feels like the perfect blend of arena and exploration style roguelikes, it seamlessly blends between these two modes with little to no hangup. One second you're fighting off a horde of knights and within the next dozen seconds you're in a shop carefully deciding which relic or arcana to buy with the limited amount of gold you have. There are certain areas in a stage which gets walled off and you are trapped with a horde of enemies but the gate opens and closes in about a split second so it feels so seamless. I also think stages are just about the right length. Long enough to get yourself immersed in, but short enough so that they don't seem to be endlessly dragging on. I like that you can challenge the stage end miniboss as soon as you find the "gate" and just progress to the next stage, even if you only clear out like 20% of the stage. This adds somewhat of a risk/reward element to the game where you may miss out on gold, gems and arcana/relics from shops but you dont risk losing health. Players can engage with the levels as they see fit. Lastly, I think the fact that the order in which you tackle each dungeon is randomized between 5 different dungeons(3 of which are present in a run) which cuts out some of the mundane repetition that as I mentioned above, can sour the experience of roguelike games.
The only major flaws I can see with the game is the balancing between arcana spells(signature lightning orb completely overshadows any other single target spell) and how being rewarded with enhanced arcanas after defeating each boss disincentivises you to buy arcanas(which are usually non enhanced) instead of relics. But these issues can easily be overlooked.
I've rambled a lot here but anyway, my overall point is this game is unashamedly nintendo oldschool brutal and I am all here for it! It just shows that roguelites can be god tier games when they don't coddle the player with pathetically weak mobs, broken synergies and meta-progression that trivialises the need to actually git gud and learn how to beat the game through trial and error.
This game is undoubtedly the king of roguelikes. As much as I love Hades, Rogue Legacy 2 or Dead Cells as the next person, this game is just undeniably the GOAT and it is criminal how obscure it is and how it isn't mentioned in the same conversation as those aforementioned roguelike hits.

2024.06.02 07:18 ah-screw-it Would "One" be too much for a fictional police force. And is there a better name for it?

So I have this multiverse protection service in the same vein as the TVA or spider group from spiderverse. And I've been struggling to think of a name for them. But then I got the idea of calling them "one" No shortening or acronyms, just "One"
Because to them, when you think 1, you think of them. There's also a running gag where nearly every planet and dimension speaks English. Because the English language came from planet colonisers, and so everyone just speaks English. In the same way to how many earth countries have English, because we were colonised by the British (who got it from them).
Back on track, I've been trying to think of a name that's so simple, its pretentious. And while I like the name "one" I feel like it would be overkill. "one" is going to be the primary antagonists of my world(s) and I feel like naming them that would be overkill.
Its like giving an evil character the name "trumptler" It works as a 5 second joke. But quickly looses its edge when used regularly. So I need a name that's on the same complex idiousy to say Elon renaming twitter "X"

2024.06.02 07:16 Limp_Consequence3974 Am I a bad person?

Okay, so I just need to vent, and my own guilty conscience is eating me alive.
There’s 15 yrs between my little sister and I. My life was rough growing up and so was hers. In 2021 she came to live with my husband and I. We had just brought our preemie home too. Anyway, at the time I was determined to give my sweet little sister a better life and was adamant she straighten out. Even at just 9, she was the most manipulative, self human being on the face of the earth. I know, that’s horrible of me to say. She’s still a child, but goodness, it was so bad. So she came to live with us. It was okay at first, but then she started lying just to lie. She didn’t care about anyone or anything but herself. If she spilt a glass of milk, she’d lie and say the dog or our new baby did it. She’d argue that the sky isn’t blue. She’d lie a million times a day, refuse to do anything we asked, argued with literally EVERYTHING my husband and I said. Fast forward. She’s 12 now. She’s lived with us since 2021. Nothing has changed. It’s only gotten worse. My husband and I have tried every form of punishment it seems like. We’ve tried positive reinforcement, taking her things, grounding her, making her write sentences, spend more time with her, the list can go on and on. It got bad a couple months ago. She stole her phone back, we found out and there was just so many alarming things on there I sent her to have some behavioral/mental help. I was tired of the attitude, the lying, the disrespect, manipulation, the defiant behavior. She spent a month there, after she was finished I hoped she’d be better. NOPE. 2 weeks ago I said enough was enough. I was tired of everything. I hated living in my own home. I kicked her out and sent her back with her mom. she’s 12. I feel like I gave up on her, but nothing I tried to do for her was helping and it seemed as if she just didn’t care and wasn’t appreciative. My life Just in the one week she’s been gone has been amazing. The house is peaceful, my husband and I haven’t fought and I’m able to provide my three yr old with all the attention she needs.
Am I terrible for sending her back? I feel so guilty, but I couldn’t keep living that way. She was literally destroying my family.
Am I terrible? I love her like crazy, but I’ve done all I can do. I was at my wits end. She’s my world, but I’ve come to learn I’ll have to love her from a distance for a while. She can still come and spend the night and hangout but I think we all agree this needed to happen.
We also have a vacation coming up next month and we decided not to take my sister, bc we feel she’s not worthy to go and don’t want any tension on vacation. I haven’t told her she isn’t going yet.
Again, am I terrible? Does sending her back make me a horrible person?

2024.06.02 07:15 Significant_Beyond95 May BBW Empties!

May BBW Empties!
Black Cherry Merlot - This version was super juicy. Solid cherry candle without being candy. Medium high thrower. Probably one and done as I prefer cherry in bodycare and my bae Wine Cellar for a 🍷 scent.
Eucalyptus Springs - My husband is using this lid as a coaster somewhere. 🤷🏻‍♀️ I got this when I had terrible morning sickness and still wanted clean scents to motivate house chores. One and done. Not the strongest eucalyptus scent and not unique.
In the Stars - I hate the body care on me, but love the candle. Already repurchased. My girly relaxing bath time candle.
Island Margarita- This fragrance makes my mouth water. Also was probably my oldest candle in the collection with a 2017 pour. Medium to high throw. Would repurchase.
Land of Sweets (Sugared Pomegranate) - I don’t like burning Sugared Pomegranate during the holidays given the A Team of holiday fragrances. The repackage is Salted Grapefruit Shores, which lists grapefruit and huckleberry notes. I associate huckleberries and grapefruit with warm weather. I bought SGS without knowing they were dupes so I clearly like it. Clean burn. I am done after SGS though as there are better berry citrus scents. Medium high throw and medium projection.
Mango Dragonfruit - Weird this 2018 pour only lists two notes on this version. It also has mandarin orange, pomegranate, and current for sure. This old girl still threw great. Mouthwatering (these sour sweet candles apparently make me want to eat them). Clean burn. If they ever rerelease it, I am down. I dig BBW mango citrus fragrances.
Paris Cafe - She was stored separately as to not make all the neighbor candles smell like a coffee vending machine. Her curling wicks needed saved from drowning many times. She was too high maintenance and rather not babysit a candle. I think we are on a break, because I probably will repurchase after forgetting how annoyed I was.
Pink Lavender Espresso - I was obsessed with this fragrance for awhile and was also using the hand soap. She is strong, the scent lingers, nasty burn though in the neutrals line jar. I hope she is in a different collection in the future. Already repurchased.
Pink Petal Teacake - I picked these up at a previous SAS for 75% off. Burned hot in the SAS glass jar, but great throw. She is so girly. I have a backup as the fragrance stayed nice during the whole burn, which isn’t always the case with gourmands. After my backup I am done.
Queen Charlotte’s Tea - I burnt this one up very quick. I am not in love with the fragrance, however, she was the house palette cleanser that everyone enjoyed and found relaxing and refreshing. One and done as I have other candles I like better for tea notes or relaxing/spa scents. Very clean burn and solid throw. Highly recommend this one.
Sugared Lemon Zest - My first time burning through this. I repurchased a backup because I don’t feel secure without a solid lemon candle at all times. Medium all around on performance.
Warm Ocean Breeze - This one burned slow, clean, and had high throw and projection. I hear the current version is inferior, but would still repurchase after my other backup is done. I LOVE this fragrance as an aquatic + sandalwood fan.
Watermelon Lemonade - This is one of the, if not the ugliest label of Watermelon Lemonade. That font is worse than the new FCP. Throw was okay, but not a huge artificial watermelon lover when it comes to home fragrance (as candy, yes please). Would not repurchase.
Not pictured: - AT Inspire Love hand cream - already if using my backup. - Gingham body cream - will likely rebuy this SAS - Gingham body butter - already using my backup from the last TBC sale

2024.06.02 07:14 banana-bels striking at me through the glass?

so i got my first BP a week ago now, and she’s been very hesitant towards me (which i haven’t been handling her, i know you’re supposed to wait :)) but ive reached into her tank to add new things, etc. and she’s struck at me once, didn’t bite but just kinda whacked me with her head? and then today when i reached in to move the thermostat probe she let me but after i closed the glass she struck at the glass twice ?
I’m trying my absolute hardest not to bother her but it’s kind of inevitable when i need to move the thermostat probe.. i also have to weigh her to figure out how often/how much to feed her and i don’t want her to be stressed out or try to bite me. i’m a new snake owner, not new to reptiles but never had a snake so im trying my absolute best here lol. i have two hides for her at the moment and some stuffs to climb on but i think i need more clutter

2024.06.02 07:06 Fukkaroo The combo's that don't work.

**Cancer & Libra.**Libra wants a mental rapport, to hear about your day and know how you feel in the sense of you vs the world then to balance themselves with you, there is a nice back and forth of conversation. Cancer, though it really depends onthe chart, intuits feelings, Cancer find it very hard to relate to Libra due to the fact they just see the person as a fixed see/saw forever tilting to two sides or finding balance.
Cancer finds Libra's sense of fairness cutting to deeper feelings at times.
Just as well, Cancer does not possess the ability to keep Libra healthy and balanced in terms of self, not because Cancer is stupid sign, it's one of the most intelligent, it's just the expression is felt rather than thought. Cancer's often need to process things then talk, whilst the Libra will see that as hiding something, not knowing what is wrong, is it me?
Over time Libra becomes progressively hot headed behind closed doors, lazy and ineffective only seeking to balance themselves. And friendly and more aware of what is going on outside of the relationship.
Cancer is overly defensive, will plan to gain small things from revenge and use things against Libra to make them feel outcasted. Libras will make them feel hugely insecure because they keep wanting to go out on their own as Cancer cannot reconcile their feelings.
Leo & Taurus / Scorpio placements (Depends on the rest of the chart)
Taurus Earth squares to Leo can be rather dampening to Leo's Fire and Leo's Fire only becomes more self interested over time to Taurus placements, usually Taurus will blow up first especially if it is the Mars placement and will end it and never go back. This is very different for Venus and Moon in Taurus, these can hold on too long. Scorpio may be the more dragged ouit emotional one depending on placement, again Mars in this sign will put in all energy until they cannot and drop it to never return.
Moon in Scorpio and Venus here are extremely obsessive and will fail to truly move on emotionally.
Leo will admire the strength however from both of these signs that the person had to speak up about the issue, just wish it was more regal and warm like themselves rather than abrupt.
Scorpio and Aries.
Whilst they may share the same Mars significator, they are very different.
Aries wants to win, an Aries who knows themselves knows that they have only got one shot at things, if they win, they win, rematching won't happen, Aries has that singularity that can be puished hard instantly and outwards.
Scorpio on the other hand will be like ok, I see you, I will have a go.
Scorpio does not have that first edge and may lose, the longer the fight goes, or a rematch happens, Scorpio will likely win due to superior long term tactical ability and the fact Aries just burns out when going on too long. Same can be said of Scorpio's sister sign Taurus and the Saturn ruled one Capricorn.
Aries may feel smothered by that feeling of being dominated in the long term, and Scorpio will be annoyed by the lack of brains Aries has, but Aries relies heavily on intuition, Scorpio relies on deep diving and figuring things out.
If ever there was a fight, this one would be over quickly, Aries don't care once Aries moves on.
Scorpio won't be able to reconcile any emotional energies and will likely move on quicker as they get no attention.
Aquarius & Cancer.
Aquarius.. feelings.. WTF? Not in the present, future oriented, stoic yet friendly and quirky.
We already know how Cancer behaves, let's not repeat this one, same for Scorpio and Pisces, Aquarius you are likely to find some positive pairings with Sagittarius.

2024.06.02 07:01 SharkEva Would I would be the jerk if I chose a opportunity over my church?

I am not the OOP. The OOP is u/OpiumKao posting in AmITheJerk
Concluded as per OOP
2 updates - Long
Original - 276th May 2024
Update1 - 28th May 2024
Update2 - 31st May 2024

Would I would be the jerk if I chose a opportunity over my church?

I (20F) have played cello since I was in 6th grade. I am generally good at it to say the least but average since I'm better at acedamics and art than playing my cello. My parents are very religious and we live in a a town a little bit away from a city.
Cause of some stupid reasons, I am the only cello still willing to work ar our church. I get played but I only get payed $12 for a 3 sometimes 4 hour performance. While I was practicing some art my friend (21M) called me, and said that a new place in our town was opening up and they needed a second teacher for the cello classes. I immediately went over and have been working there for a little over a month. While there the small school's principal managed to get my class a place in a orchestra concert in the city. It wasn't in the center just at the edge but my students were really excited. When we arrived. I played with my students a little bit for practice. The concert had went really well and I really enjoyed it.
Due to this. A man around 40 had walked up to me after the concert. He said he had heard me playing with my students and asked if I could play in a huge orchestra in around the center of the city. I was really interested since this could get good opportunities in both art and cello.
There is a bit of problem though. My parents had asked me before if I could play at my church on the same day of the concert ant at a uncomfortable amount of time gap. I didn't agree to it and said I would think about it. But now I really am concerned. I care about my parents and I enjoy my church. But I will get good opportunities at the big concert and they are willing to pay me $20 and hour if I play and help set up.
The problem with the church concert is that it will be 3 hours long and they actually are only going to pay me $15 for setting up AND playing the 3 hours which I am not very comfortable with.
So? Would I be the jerk if I chose an opportunity over my church?
TLDR; I got a good opportunity to play in a concert in around the center of the city. But on the same day is my church's concert. The concert is willing to pay $20 an hour for my troubles. While my church is going to only pay me $15 for setting up AND playing the 3 hours.

Church is taking advantage of you and I'm sure you're not rolling in money. The church will survive without a cello player.

madogvelkor
Yeah. And a lot of people play/sing for free or cheap at their church for personal reasons. My grandfather wasn't even really Catholic but he sang in the choir and my grandmother (who was devout Catholic) played the organ. He hated church but loved singing church music.
That said, it's about personal choice. If you need the money and aren't just playing for your own love of the music then go for the orchestra.
OOP: I just have to say wow. I know its only been a couple hours. But I just have to thank you all for the advice. I have constantly been looking through your comments and I may reply to some. Not all. But definitely Atleast 10. So thank you for your support.
Edit: I'm going to tell them. I don't know how they will react but I am. The concert is on Sunday so this will be kinda in advance. I really do feel bad about it though

Update - 1 day later

A couple hours earlier I told my parents. To say my mom was angry was on understatement. She yelled and screamed at me that she had already told the church that I was going to play at the church. And they needed me there. I reminded her about what I said before when she asked. When my mom figured out I wasn't going to change my mind, she threatened to take my devices. Like seriously? I may for them. I reminded her that. But she didn't care. She continued screaming until she reached my room and started grabbing my phone. Art tablet. Laptop. PS5. EVERYTHING.
While doing so my dad joined in on my mom's side and told me I was making them look bad to the church. Before she even walked out the room. I started calling my dad's parents. Telling them what going on. While my mom was still screaming and yelling while taking my stuff into her room telling me I'm not getting them back until our next concert. Which was literally a week away. My paternal grandfather entered our house with his spare key and started screaming and my mom to put my stuff back in my room before he takes HER phone.
My mother, being the always scared of my grandfather person that she is. She put all my stuff in my room, but before she could. He told her to put my stuff in his truck. Which she had to do all by herself. My dad was forced to apologize to me and then my mother. It was obviously 1/2-hearted but I was just pleased they were forced to apologize.
I am currently at my grandparents place, and the reason this happened so late is cause I went on a shopping spree with my grandmother and her friends. They are the sweetest ladies ever. And I had alot of fun. I even able to buy another music piece its a little simple for my liking but I like the beat.
Just a quick update. We just got back and my grandparents are downstairs drinking and stuff, talking about their youthful days. My grandfather said feel free to take his truck to a friends place. So I'm about to do that after the post. Thanks for the support from the last post everyone 💓 thank you

Good on you OP for not backing down for this amazing opportunity, and I hope the orchestra works out for you!

Ditto and true delight to hear that your grandparents are awesome

Update - 2 days later

My parents are insane. Alot has happened so bare with me.
The day after my post I got a call for the man I the opportunity with, he sounded pissed. He asked if I was a minor. But first I asked how he got my number. He told me he got a call from my parents saying that I am a minor and as their guardian they will not allow me to play in the orchestra. As a side note. I am 20F, but due to genetics I look like around 16-17.
I told him I am not a minor but he seemed to believe my parents over me and he sent me a screenshot of my birth certificate... Those crazy people gave them a fake certificate that made it look like I was 16. He said due to no minors being allowed in the orchestra, my seat will be removed only if I can verify if I am not a minor.
I tried to convince him with my ID but he said that my parents told him I would show them a fake ID and I will be getting removed from the orchestra and he hung up.
Me. In tears, told my grandparents and they were not happy. Especially my grandmother. Another side note, my grandmother's mother was a cello player, but due to a accident she died when she was 29. So to find out I couldn't play my instrument anymore in this orchestra she was beyond to the point SHE ACTUALLY DRIVED. My grandmother rarely drives.
After the drive my grandmother had a screaming match with both my parents while my grandfather went to the place of the orchestra to get me verified for my seat again. I was a mess the whole way. We managed after 3 hours to get me verified but by then when we got back my grandmother was chewing out my dad and mom while they sat quietly.
The next day was the most satisfying thing I've ever felt
I found out my parents will be taking me out their will. The will that my GRANDPARENTS practically control since my grandparents pay half their bills. A couple minutes after. My grandparents called them and them that if they take me out their will, they will remove my dad out their will and give all the assets to me including the will they will already planning to give me, which was already a lump some of money and some rent houses they own.
My parents are trying to hold their ground, but a couple hours later they said they will also not be paying the bills they have been paying.
Then finally after those two threats. They are still trying to hold their ground. My grandparents have two other children, both daughters and older than my father, so I'm not surprised if they instead give them the assets instead of me.
My father called my two hours ago and called me a failure to my family and their church. Personally I thought that would hurt. But I didn't feel much. More like?... Relief! I felt so RELIEVED! I never felt this way before and I might actually ask them to disown me. I'm sick and tired of their trash and how many things I have done for that church and STILL be underpaid!
Hopefully this will be my last update but ask questions in the comments and I may answer. I just want to get this behind me.

Anyone who chooses the church over their children is a huge AH and doesn’t deserve children. Your parents are awful and if they were mine, I wouldn’t want anything to do with them.

Yep, the whole "Thy shalt not bear false witness" flew right over their heads.

2024.06.02 06:59 Zuckerperle TIL all about Lulu

We all saw Pride Lulu being released today. So I was curious about Lulu's story because that also just happens to be a nickname a very dear friend of mine gave me. I do not own the original Lulu, she's a chaser as many of you might know, and she's quite expensive. But today I learned that Lulu wears her glasses on her head, just like I do when I don't need them for looking far or driving. Lulu also has her motto stamped on her "PLUR", which I had to Google and it means Peace, Love, Unity and Respect. This way of life is part of the original Raver movement of the 90s, and as a teenaged German, I was very much part of that. Now as an adult, I realize PLUR is a actually my way of life and I wouldn't have it any other way. Lulu is full circle for me and I now have to own her lol. Is there a unicorn or tokidoki figure you identify with besides the obvious zodiacs? I'd love to hear.

2024.06.02 06:57 Kiki242 Shinobu is Terrifying.

Continuing on with my first watch, just got to the part where Shinobu kills the sister demon. From the jump, Shinobu gave me the creeps. I'm watching the dub so I cannot speak for how she comes off in the original sub, but the way the actress voices her in the dub is so unsettling. She has this sickly sweet voice that you just KNOW is a facade for a woman who is remarkably deadly and who enjoys being deadly. Like, she lowkey gives off serial killer vibes. Like she would kill everybody in the room if she knew there would be no consequences. This may be me being hyperbolic and just trying to get my point across of how scary she comes off to me. That one scene of her running through the woods with Tomioka........ she was already creeping me out.
When she first snuck up on the sister demon, I immediately knew that the demon was up shit's creek without a paddle. This girl was not Tanjiro, I knew that this wasn't going to be some compassuonate heart to heart type shit. That entire scene put me on edge cause I knew the switch was going to switch with Shinobu, it was only a matter of time. And when she started explaining to the elder sister demon of what she would need to endure for them to be friends in that sickly sweet voice.........
The way this show showed off the prowess of both her and Tomioka was perfect. But her scene hit a little more for me due to the weird psychological shit she has going on.

2024.06.02 06:54 betatrap Home Server advice

Hello,
I need some advice on how to progress with my home server. Currently, I have a Synology NAS DS1618+ with about 30 TB of usable storage in RAID 5. I was using a Dell PowerEdge R420 with Unraid as my main server until a mishap rendered it non-operational.
I am now seeking recommendations on a suitable replacement for the Dell R420. Additionally, should I stick with the Synology ecosystem and get an expansion unit to add more drives?
The Dell server handled most of my services, including a media server using Jellyfin and Emby, multiple game servers for friends, and a reverse proxy server. Meanwhile, the Synology NAS served as storage and managed download clients for Sonarr, Radarr, SABnzbd, and Transmission for torrents when NZBs were unavailable.
Thank you for your help.

AITA for building a DND 3.5 character with a higher power level than the rest of the party/group?

LONG
BACKGROUND
so, a little background, ive been a member of a teens-youg adult group at a local gameshop for a few years now and aside from the DMs everyone has stayed from when i first joined, as for the current DM he has run the last 3 campaigns (a VTM, WTA and the current 3.5) and definatly seems of the CN variety as he tends not to stress the hard details/rules too much and often decides against looking up specific rules (called shots, unusual battlegrounds, special attacks, multiclass rules, etc) in favor of creating a quick patch for the circumstances and keeping with it should it come up again(unless someone brings up a specific concern). he plays by the rules of "the stronger you make your characters the stronger monsters you'll find" (which is fine, keeps encounters interesting and you get cooler monsters to fight). as for character creation we started lvl 4 and it was my first time playing 3.5 (had experience with pathfinder 1e tho) he allowed a surprising amount of books to draw from and i decided to make a cleric of gorum (pathfinder battle deity i ran by him first) and eventually landed on a half ogre(from savage species 1 lvl adjustment, +6 str -2dex +2con -2 int -2cha, large size) 1 lvl in barbarian with variant whirling frenzy rage, 2 lvl cleric with war(greatsword) and str domains. i continued to lvl cleric to lvl 3 and then just before THE SESSION took place i took a lvl in shaman (oriental adventures, domains: str and wrath), the feats he had were power attack, additional rage and battle jump(oriental adventures, different from battle leap) at this point we were lvl 6.(side note, all characters had max hp for their hit dice per lvl). the party consisted of: half elf paladin of freedom(healer, frontliner), an assimar cleric of anubis (healer, damage caster), bugbear pugilist fighter(tank/vanguard, comic relief), and me(healer, dps and slight glass cannon)
THE SESSION
the session started out pretty standard, we had spent the last 8 or so sessions exploring a megadungeon and we had left off in some catacombs, few traps here and there we arrive at where the main fight happens, we were fighting a giant praying mantis and a giant python, me, the paladin and the fighter start fighting the mantis and the anubian cleric starts a sandstorm around the python, a few rounds in and the mantis is mostly down due to my damage(i have noticed in a few prior fights that i have a significantly higher dps than the rest but i brushed it off with the thought that i also had the least hit points and get much closer to dieing most fights), meanwhile the python has managed to grab the cleric and has started constricting him rendering him somewhat in a pickle, the paladin on their turn (just before mine) manages to finish the mantis off so i decide to pull out the combo that i had just assembled on the python, using my str domain ability and having had both animal's frenzy and bulls strength + rage on me i had quite the str that round (32 for a +11str) and i used both battle jump and Rino's rush(from the wrath domain) to give a x4 to my charge attack and deal a nice round 160 dmg in one strike, as i was somewhat explaining what i was doing the others(fighter and paladin) were warning me against it due to prior rule regarding powerful characters and that i might hit the cleric(to which i was confidant enough my at the moment +21(which rolled to a 33) to hit wouldn't miss the snake), as i concluded damage calculations the dm looked to the other cleric and said to take half(80) of that damage which already being down 30-40 hitpoints instantly killed them and the dm promptly explained that the snake had only received 80 dmg as well and that it was due to how the constriction worked. i then proceeded to get somewhat berated by F and P (the cleric was somewhat quiet and had somewhat continued to work on his tank backup he ironically had been making before the session began) about how i shouldn't have assumed that the DM would let me just hit the snake and not my own ally(it is worth mentioning at this point two things, A. that no one had landed a hit on the snake during constriction and thus we didnt know the damage sharing ability and B. that even without the battle jump and rino's rush if i just walked up to the snake and hit it twice(not difficult with +21 against aproxamate ac 22) i still would have likely ended up killing the cleric since he stated that even 36 damage would have instakilled him (avg damage per hit with these buffs applied added up to 3d6(13.5)+23 dmg and constriction and or bleed would kill him) and when i protested to the dm that there are ways to deal damage without striking it down the middle (ex, cut off the snake's heat) he said i never asked for a called shot. i was then declared to have moved down to chaotic evil (priorly CN who at the start of the campaign was CG and had moved down due to breaking a parley declared by ambushing kobolds and a kobold mage whom i thought would be enemies of the faith due to gorum's tenants which in hindsight was meant to become a social encounter) despite (at that point) my intent to grieve once the battle was over(the cleric had been the kindest in the party thus far and i was still trying to play CG). i could somewhat see where the alignment change had come from since actions determine alignment and thus i could still reclaim my alignment by properly displaying my atonement and sorrow and desire to do better(and i spent a good few minutes trying to figure out how to revive him cause at this point i knew i had screwed up and needed to try to fix it). aside from that it was now the fighter's turn and at this point i got slightly distracted trying to help cleric with his backup and went to grab/check the index of a book on the far shelf, when i returned a minute later it was the python's turn and it attacked me (naturally) and had transformed into a dragon(which at this point was the only time id seen the dm rebalance a combat mid combat) which then proceeded to one-shot me to death despite only being down 10hp this whole fight and as far as im aware he never even bothered to ask for AC(when i had just made a massive AC boost from scale male to +1 plate earlier no less) and when the paladin attacked after both us clerics hit the floor and got a 32 to hit on a smite missed, after P and F consulted about escaping and/or retrieving the anubian cleric's body(whom it was stated was beginning to be devoured alongside mine) the dm did some deus ex machina'ing (which he has done before mostly to prevent large numbers of character deaths in the past and not unusual for the table considering we swim in powerful company frequently). after the session as me and cleric were setting up new characters and after being threatened if i made another min-maxed character(of which there was very little of deliberatly done, im not known for playing broken characters (gimmicky? yes, broken? rarely or only as ideas) cleric said that he was fine with me having killed his character which helped me feel a bit better about the whole thing but im still troubled about how DM, P and F reacted respectively to the event. AITA?
