[Thank you] Happy World Postcard Day!!

2021.10.01 14:11 bleuest [Thank you] Happy World Postcard Day!!

I got a mind-boggling amount of 60+ pieces of mail today, even though it's only been a week since I last checked my PO Box. It was wonderful to see, especially considering today is the World Postcard Day! Thank you to everyone who has contributed to this community!
And of course, thank you to my lovely mailers:
183 u/birdiebennett Thank you for the Onigashima postcard! These cats are probably the only ogres I'd enjoy meeting πŸ˜‚ I'm sure you have many other funny stories from your job! I have two pharmacist friends and they have some random ass stories every once in a while.
184 u/LaCuntessa Thank you for the national park postcard, cool stamps, and cute stickers as usual!
185 u/Ambitious-Register44 Thank you for your postcard! I have the same box too 😊 I hope you get to visit Switzerland someday :)
186 u/SatanekoChan Thank you for the Torino vintage postcard! I really love the black and white vibe.
187-188 u/StephanieTay x2 Thank you for the surprise songket postcard with the wonderful stamps! Some batik places here also sells that type of motif. And thank you for the lovely kampung life postcard! We have a lot of kampungs here too - the illustration you sent can be seen in a lot of places here even in the main cities if you go off the road just a bit. My school uniform was ugly, with a baggy white button-up shirt and a boring shapeless greyish blue skirt (you can Google "seragam SMA"). I was so jealous of uniforms with pleated plaid skirts, which just looks so much more aesthetic!
189 u/c0vidi0t19 Thank you for the bison postcard! Bisons are (relatively) common here, although I've never seen one myself. They're on the logo of an energy drink and a political party.
190 u/KarenLim Thank you for the galaxy postcard and your well wishes!
191-199 u/panpantastic x9 Thank you for the adorable Sanggo postcard and ... 8 Loka Made postcards in an envelope!!! What a wonderful surprise! I love all of these, they're exactly the type of postcards I enjoy!
We had 3 Kinokuniya stores in Jakarta, but unfortunately they closed one by one and the final one closed last year :( I also enjoyed going to them! The foods in the local delicacies postcard are extremely familiar to me, especially the bowl of noodles with the rooster πŸ˜‚ Happy extremely belated Aidilfitri and Aidiladha to you too! I've seen Petronas, KL tower, and Putra Mosque, but didn't go inside any of them since I went there on my internship and my budget was rather tight πŸ₯²
200-202 jordinarydove πŸ˜‚ u/ordinaryclover x3 As always, thank you for the lovely decorated postcards! And for the awesome AmΓ©lie postcards, they capture the whimsicality so well πŸ’™ Also love the all things bright and beautiful postcard - their art style is so cute and quaint.
203 u/toni_jade I received u/Tomasz_j's travelling sticker card! Thank you for all the goodies!
204 u/amyt13 Thank you for kindly transcribing what Kiwi said! Love this super wholesome card and glad to hear Kiwi is a good obedient seal 🦭
205 u/m0nk3yklng Omg, thank you for the goodies and the tea bags and the calendar card! My grandpa had one of these cards lolol, I haven't seen these in so long. Your National Day sounds exciting! Here the only televised bit is the raising the flag ceremony and singing the national anthem. Our schools have clubs for these, and there are competitions too. I joined for one day because my friend made me then ditched because I couldn't stand standing in the heat for an hour lol πŸ˜…
