2024.06.09 02:14 Charming-Wish-7703 The Silent Rebellion

Written By: Jaden Azariah Trent
In the year 2030, the world was a seamless web of interconnected devices. Every home had a television that never turned off, equipped with microphones and cameras, which stood as silent sentinels, observing our every move for the iron-fisted government. Each TV was a gateway for ceaseless advertisements and propaganda, broadcast directly into the minds of viewers. Elon Musk’s neural transmitter chip, Neuralink, once a marvel of technology, had become a compulsory implant at birth. It linked human consciousness to an endless stream of data, intruding even into dreams. Corporations, having merged into a single monolithic conglomerate, controlled every thought and desire with surgical precision.
Chapter 1: A World Enslaved
Dr. Emily Carter sat in her dimly lit office, her fingers tapping nervously on the desk. Once a brilliant neuroscientist, she now felt like a cog in the very machine she had helped build. The neural transmitters were meant to revolutionize communication, but they had become tools of oppression.
Her thoughts were interrupted by a soft chime from her implant. "Incoming message," the robotic voice intoned. It was another ad, this time for a new, must-have consumer product. She grimaced, swiping away the intrusion.
"Emily," a familiar voice called from the doorway. It was Dr. Raj Patel, her colleague and the only person she trusted. "We need to talk."
Emily motioned for him to sit. "What's wrong, Raj?"
He leaned in, lowering his voice. "I've been tracking a series of neural anomalies. People acting erratically, experiencing severe migraines and seizures. It’s all connected to their transmitters."
Emily's eyes widened. "You think it's a malfunction?"
Raj shook his head. "No, it’s too precise. Someone is controlling them."
Chapter 2: The Hacker’s Game
Alexei watched the city from his hideout, his fingers dancing over a keyboard. The world had grown complacent, and he was determined to shake it from its slumber. His latest target was a high-ranking corporate executive. With a few keystrokes, he planted the seeds of chaos.
The executive, Mr. Thompson, was in the middle of a board meeting when he suddenly convulsed, his eyes rolling back. His colleagues watched in horror as he muttered incoherently, a puppet to Alexei’s whims.
Alexei smirked, his voice a whisper in the dark. "Soon they will understand."
Chapter 3: The Resistance Forms
Emily and Raj gathered a small group of trusted allies, each one a victim of Alexei’s hacking. Among them was Sarah, a former programmer, and Marcus, an ex-military strategist. They met in an abandoned warehouse, away from prying eyes and ears.
"We need to find the source of these attacks," Marcus said, his voice steady. "And we need to shut it down."
Emily nodded. "But we also need to expose the corporation’s control. Alexei might be a hacker, but he’s also a symptom of a larger problem."
Raj pulled up a map of the city. "I’ve traced the anomalies to a series of relay points. If we can infiltrate one, we might be able to trace it back to Alexei."
Chapter 4: Into the Lion’s Den
The plan was set. The resistance moved under the cover of darkness, their neural transmitters shielded by makeshift jammers. They infiltrated a relay point, a nondescript building in the heart of the city.
Inside, they found rows of servers, each one humming with data. Sarah connected her laptop, fingers flying over the keys. "I’m in," she whispered. "Tracing the signal now."
Minutes felt like hours as the team waited. Suddenly, the screen flashed. "Got it. The signal is coming from an old industrial district."
Chapter 5: Confrontation
The team stormed the industrial district, finding Alexei’s hideout. Inside, Alexei stood waiting, a smug smile on his face. "I knew you’d come," he said.
Emily stepped forward. "This ends now, Alexei."
Alexei laughed. "You think you can stop me? I’ve already shown the world the truth."
"At what cost?" Emily shot back. "You’re hurting people."
Alexei’s eyes narrowed. "Sometimes, to wake up, you need a nightmare."
Before he could react, Marcus lunged, pinning Alexei to the ground. Raj quickly deactivated the neural control system.
Chapter 6: Revelation and Escalation
With Alexei’s system down, the team broadcast a message to the world, exposing the corporation’s control and Alexei’s hacks. The public, already on edge, erupted in outrage. Protests broke out, demanding the removal of the neural transmitters and the dissolution of the corporate conglomerate.
But the corporation was prepared. They deployed an elite force, the Enforcers, equipped with advanced technology and ruthless efficiency. The streets ran with conflict, as the Enforcers quelled protests with brutal force. The conglomerate’s spokesperson, a figurehead with a calm demeanor, addressed the nation.
"These disturbances are the work of anarchists," he proclaimed. "We will restore order and ensure your safety. Trust in the system."
Chapter 7: The Depths of Despair
Emily and her team were forced underground, their resistance movement now branded as terrorists. They moved from safe house to safe house, always one step ahead of the Enforcers. The public, bombarded with propaganda, began to turn against them.
In a hidden bunker, Raj pored over data, trying to find a weakness in the corporate network. "We need a new plan," he said, his voice tinged with despair. "They’re too powerful."
Emily clenched her fists. "We can’t give up. There has to be a way."
Marcus, ever the pragmatist, suggested a daring strategy. "We need to hit them where it hurts. Their central command hub. If we can disable it, even temporarily, we can disrupt their control."
Chapter 8: The Final Assault
The resistance prepared for their most dangerous mission yet. Under the cover of night, they infiltrated the heavily guarded central command hub. Sarah worked her magic, bypassing security systems and opening a path for the team.
Inside, they faced the Enforcers in a brutal battle. The resistance fought with everything they had, driven by desperation and hope. They reached the control room, where Emily and Raj began the upload of a virus designed to cripple the network.
As the countdown ticked away, the Enforcers breached the room. Marcus held them off, buying precious seconds. "Finish it!" he shouted.
With a final keystroke, the virus activated. The screens flickered, and for a moment, the neural network faltered. But it wasn’t enough. The system’s redundancy protocols kicked in, and the network began to recover.
Chapter 9: The Unyielding Grip
The Enforcers overpowered the resistance. Emily, Raj, and the remaining members were captured, their mission a partial failure. The conglomerate wasted no time in making an example of them.
In a televised trial, Emily stood defiant. "You can silence us, but you can’t silence the truth. People will rise against this tyranny."
The corporate spokesperson smirked. "Your actions have caused unnecessary suffering. The system exists to maintain order, and order will be restored."
Emily and her comrades were sentenced to life in a high-security facility, their implants modified to prevent further rebellion.
Epilogue: A Flicker of Hope
Years passed. The world remained under the corporation’s iron fist, but the seeds of rebellion had been sown. In the shadows, a new generation of resistance fighters emerged, inspired by Emily and her team’s sacrifice. They whispered stories of the Silent Rebellion, of the fleeting moment when the system had wavered.
In her cell, Emily remained unbroken. She knew that true freedom would not come easily or quickly, but the fight was far from over. As long as there were those who remembered, there was hope.
The struggle for liberation continued, a relentless battle against a seemingly invincible foe. In a world where silence was enforced, the murmurs of dissent grew louder, carrying the promise of a future where humanity might once again reclaim its destiny.

2024.06.09 00:57 firefly-_-_- Advice on a book that I'm writing 13 amateur writer

Our story begins with a young child who was 10 years old, named Enro. He grew up in an orphanage.he was used to the smell of soup and the creaking of the floor board's Ever since he was born, the workers at the orphanage found him in a carriage and took him in.
It was there when he met a young girl the same age as him. She had dark red hair that flowed in the wind, her brown eyes staring at Enro. Her name was Lin. Everything about her, including the bruises all over her pale skin, but even then, she smiled. Enro found it strange that someone with so many bruises could still smile. But she was the only friend that Enro had in the orphanage. They would always meet up on a secluded hill behind a pine tree. They played there, taking in the air. Enro turned to look at her and felt his heart throbbing. A warmth spreading in his chest
“Why are you smiling?” Lin asked.
He didn't realize that he was smiling. “Oh, nothing,” he replied.
He noticed things in Lin that he had never noticed before, like the mole scab on her ear. They continued to talk about what to make of their lives once they left the orphanage, and how they would become knights of the order, to protect those who can't protect themselves,a group of elite warriors.
“How's your day going, Enro?” she asked with a smile on her face.
“It's going well. How about yours?”
“It's been great,” Lin replied.
Before Enro could talk to her more, he heard a loud shout. "You two, get down here! It’s time." They had to take their daily injections. He never knew what the injections were for or why they had to take them; he only knew that not taking them meant a severe beating by the workers. They walked back into the orphanage to take their injections. After that, they had to take an aptitude test. Enro always got the same score of 50, but this time he got a 55. He was improving. Lin was able to get a 95, the highest score she'd ever gotten. They took her to a room. Enro waited and waited for Lin to come out, but she never did. The workers told Enro to go to his quarters.
Enro went to sleep that night hoping to talk more to her. He went to their usual spot but she was gone. He looked all over for her but he couldn't find her. He , but she was gone. She had been sold by the owners of the orphanage. Enro was reminded of the sick truth: they were truly alone in this orphanage. They were nonexistent to others. They could be gone just like that, and nobody would even cry. But he cried. He knew they existed. He knew they were important, but they were invisible to the world. They had dreams and aspirations. What did they do so wrong to be kept in this prison? But now, Enro had found his purpose: to bring their dream to life and become a knight of the order.
As Enro went to bed that night, he was awoken by screams. He looked outside to see the masked men, who appeared to be one of the ignicel cultists the children at the orphanage had been taught about. As a result of their evil deeds, they were infamous all throughout the land and were taught about almost everywhere. They were killers who worshiped a virus called the ignicel in order to gain strength. He had to run; he had to survive. He couldn't let her dream die. The cultists were in the building. He heard the screams of children. He ran out into the hallway, seeing a cultist. "We found one here!" the cultist shouted.
He ran and ran, the cultist chasing after him. He didn't want to die. But he couldn't run forever. He grabbed a small iron rod and hid behind a wall. When the cultist approached, he struck him in the jaw, disorienting him. He struck him once more, knocking the cultist to the ground making a loud thud on the ground.Enro grabbed the cultist's dagger and hid behind a cabinet on the floor, hoping nobody would find him. Tears filled his eyes as he saw children being kidnapped.
He knew his spot wasn't too safe, so he ran to the closest room and put a cabinet at the door. He was in the nursery. There was one other child there, crying and holding a baby. He heard banging at the door, his heart beating faster than ever and looked for a way out. He remembered what he wanted to do. He wanted to protect those you couldn't protect themselves so he ran to the child, a boy two years younger than him. He grabbed his hand and headed for the window, running as fast as he could to the wood ducking the branches as he ran making sure nobody saw them. He couldn't die—not yet. He had to stay alive.
Holding the dagger in hand, a cultist saw them and gave chase. They kept running and running. Hearing the sound of twigs snap in-between their feet The boy, holding the baby in one hand, couldn't keep up and fell. Enro picked him up and hid behind a tree, his breath heavy. He could hear the cultist right around the tree. He grabbed the dagger and slashed at the cultist's arm. The cultist punched Enro to the ground. The child cried and cried.
The cultist was distracted. Enro got up, clutching his dagger, and went for a swing, but missed. Enro went in for another swing, this time grazing the cultist's shoulder.
“You brat,” the cultist snarled, grabbing Enro, slamming him to the ground, and holding a knife to his throat. The child threw a rock at the cultist, hoping to save Enro. Enro's heart beating even faster than before he pushed the man off, punching him.
The cultist got up and was preparing to throw his knife into enro Enro, but suddenly he was slammed to the ground.
“I can't move. What is this?” Enro grabbed the child and ran for safety. They ran far away and set up camp at the bay of a river.
“Why did you help me?” the child asked.
“I don't know,” Enro replied.
“Thank you, mister.”
“My name is Enro. What's yours?”
“My name is Ken. This baby here is Light; he's my baby brother.”
He could see the pair shivering. “Let's set up a campfire.”
“Okay,” Ken agreed.
Enro held the boy’s hand and offered to hold Light as they walked. “Do you need help with him?”
“No, it's okay,” Ken said, holding on tight to his brother. They walked around, looking for sticks and logs, and placed them near the bay. Enro could hear Ken's belly rumbling. Once they got enough logs, they now had to worry about food. They looked all around, only finding snakes. Eventually, they found a kady, a small creature that relied on the trees to stay alive. Enro used the dagger to climb up the trees and grabbed the creature from behind. They went back to the river where they lit up their campfire. They huddled together for warmth.
“ this tastes horrible,” Ken complained.
“It's the only thing we have, Ken.”
“Wahhhhh,” Light cried.
“Dear, dear Light, everything's going to be okay,” Ken comforted his brother.
They had both fallen asleep. Enro put his hands over them. Maybe they could be a family; they could experience the love they never had before. The night came and went. The next morning, they kept moving. They couldn't risk the cultists catching up to them. They walked by the river, hoping to find a bridge to cross, but it was then that they met a boy. He had brown skin, dark puffy hair, and looked to be the same age as Enro.
“Who are you?” Enro demanded to know, readying his dagger and preparing for a fight. Ken hid behind him.
“I'm one of the kids from the orphanage. I'm scared. I can't take this anymore.” The boy waved his hands and jumped into the river. Enro rushed in to save him, but it was too late. They continued on their way.

2024.06.08 22:31 GarnetGrapes These are the bird flu questions that influenza and animal scientists desperately want answered

Helen Branswell, STAT News, paywall-free link: https://archive.ph/dSGsG
"Ten weeks after government scientists discovered that H5N1 bird flu was sickening dairy cattle in the United States, many of the mysteries surrounding what is happening on affected farms remain just that.
Widespread reluctance on the part of farmers to allow scientists — government or otherwise — onto their premises to study spread of the virus among infected cows has created a frustrating lack of understanding of the dynamics of this outbreak. U.S. Department of Agriculture incentives aimed at getting farmers to test their cows and take preventive measures to protect both animals and farmworkers do not seem to have solved the impasse, even as the outbreak has affected 82 herds in nine states.
It’s not lost on many scientists, here and abroad, that the paucity of data coming out of the U.S. is not dissimilar to the limited information flow out of China in the early days of the Covid-19 pandemic — a situation the U.S and other governments complained about loudly at the time. With the shoe on the other foot, however, there is no overt effort to make farmers cooperate.
“A lot of criticism was leveled at China for their early response to Covid-19 — some of it reasonable, a lot of it extremely ignorant. Are we currently making some of those mistakes ourselves?” wondered Kristian Andersen, an evolutionary biologist and a professor of immunology and microbiology at Scripps Research Institute in La Jolla, Calif.
Investigating outbreaks always takes time. But it is startling this far into this situation that so many questions appear to be no closer to answers.

Related: A third U.S. farmworker infected with bird flu is the first to experience respiratory symptoms

To get a sense of what the key questions are, STAT asked scientists who have long worked on influenza or in veterinary medicine what they viewed as the most pressing questions. Sixteen answered individually; the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention answered collectively for three flu experts within its ranks whose opinions we sought.
The answers — their questions — roughly fit into three buckets: What’s happening on the farms among cows? What’s happening on farms among farmworkers? What’s happening to the virus and what does this all portend for H5N1, which for nearly three decades has danced around humans but has yet to take us on directly.

The biggest bucket: What is happening with the cows?

Ron Fouchier, a flu virologist at Erasmus Medical Center in the Dutch city of Rotterdam, summed up what underlies all of the cow-related questions with the single question he submitted. It was, effectively: How can spread in cows be stopped, and the sooner the better?
“If this virus becomes enzootic” — endemic or entrenched — “in cows, it could well cause massive damage to human and animal health in the longer term,” Fouchier wrote. “I would find it unacceptable if authorities in the U.S.A. and/or the sector do not try to eradicate this new disease in cows a.s.a.p. If this is not deemed possible, I think the entire world would like to see the evidence and arguments.”
Isabella Eckerle, a virologist at the Geneva Centre for Emerging Viral Diseases, expressed a similarly overarching sentiment. “What is the plan of farmers and health authorities to get rid of this virus in the cow population to prevent further spread and mutation, or worse, major spillover to humans?”
Figuring out how to stop the spread of the virus in U.S. cattle herds requires far more information than exists in the public domain, however. Many of the experts we asked said what’s known about how the virus is spreading among cows cannot be the whole story.

Cow udders appear to be exquisitely sensitive to this virus; when dairy cattle are infected, their milk production decreases markedly and the milk they do produce is altered in color and viscosity. Milk from infected animals contains surprisingly high levels of virus. It’s believed that milking machines, which are not cleaned after each cow is milked, have been spreading the virus from infected to uninfected animals.
But some cows reportedly have mild respiratory symptoms and nasal discharge, raising questions about whether cows are also spreading the virus more in the way humans spread flu.
“There is a consensus building that this is most likely mechanical transmission through milking but I don’t think that answers a lot of questions/explains some of the weirdness,” said Thomas Peacock, an influenza virologist at the Pirbright Institute, a British organization that focuses on controlling viral illnesses in animals. “I don’t understand how if the virus is only transmitting through milk machines it got back into poultry (or alpacas!).
”While it is believed that this outbreak was caused by a single “spillover” event, when H5N1-infected wild birds somehow passed the virus to a cow or cows, the virus that has been spreading in cows has since spilled back into wild birds. Farm cats, domestic poultry, the odd carnivore species, and a herd of alpacas in Idaho have also been infected with this strain of the virus. Six of 18 alpacas in the herd became infected; three that were pregnant had spontaneous abortions.
There have also been three mild human infections associated with this outbreak; all have been in farmworkers.

Martin Beer, director of the Institute of Diagnostic Virology at the Friedrich-Loeffler-Institut in Riems, Germany, lists a number of data points scientists need to know to try to figure out how to stop this outbreak. The number of cows in a herd that have been infected, which could be determined by looking for antibodies in their blood. The percentage of animals that shed virus — in other words, the portion that are infectious. Whether they emit virus from their muzzles or in their feces. How much virus is shed via those routes as compared to what is seen in milk?
Scott Hensley, a professor of microbiology at the University of Pennsylvania’s Perelman School of Medicine who is working on an H5N1 vaccine, has a trio of intertwined questions. Do cows that are infected but have no symptoms emit virus? Would quarantining infected cows stop spread within a herd? And how long are infected cows infectious? “It will be easier to control this virus if the infectious period is short. But this might not be the case,” Hensley noted.
Colleen Webb agreed that the specifics of spread in cattle need to be elucidated. “We know the basic epidemiological information for other avian influenza hosts, but not dairy cattle, and dairy cattle are different enough from these other hosts that we need dairy cattle-specific information,” said Webb, dean of the graduate school at Colorado State University, whose research focuses on data-driven modeling of disease and evaluation of preparedness and control strategies in livestock diseases.
Lots of data from a number of affected farms would answer these questions. In the absence of it, experimental infections of cows in laboratories can start to generate crucial information. Jürgen Richt, a veterinarian and director of the Center of Excellence for Emerging and Zoonotic Animal Diseases at Kansas State University’s College of Veterinary Medicine, is currently doing just this type of research. So is Beer.
Florian Krammer, a flu virologist at the Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai in New York, thinks it’s important to find out whether vaccinating cattle would stop transmission of the virus in herds — specifically whether vaccine doses created for people in the federal government’s stockpile could be used to tamp out spread. “Large scale vaccination in cows may be able to stop the outbreak,” he argued.
There remains the question of how widespread the virus is in herds in the U.S. Given that H5 viral particles have been found in a substantial portion of commercially purchased milk — one in five samples bought in 38 states — the belief is that the herds that have been confirmed are a tip of the iceberg. But is that so? How far has this spread?

Related: When should we start making H5N1 vaccine, and who will make that decision? In short, it’s complicated

“We still don’t know how many farms are affected and that’s a big problem for containment. As long as undetected cases are out there, new infections can and will occur,” said Angela Rasmussen, a virologist at the Vaccine and Infectious Disease Organization at the University of Saskatchewan, in Saskatoon, Canada.Like Rasmussen, Diego Diel, a virologist at Cornell University in Ithaca, N.Y., would like to know how far the virus has spread in cows. “Is the virus circulating in other countries … such as Mexico and Canada?” he wondered. So far Canadian authorities report they have not found the virus in cows. And work Rasmussen and an ad hoc team of researchers from across Canada have done looking for traces of H5N1 in store-bought milk has so far failed to turn up any positive results. Finally, there is the question of whether this virus is now on its way to being seeded in cattle in the United States — permanently circulating among cows and adapting to better infect them. Will cows who have recovered from the virus have the capacity to catch it again? Humans, after all, only develop transient immunity when they have a bout of flu.
“What is going to happen when a recovered herd gets infected again? Maybe someone knows the answer to this already, but I don’t,” said Richard Webby, a flu virologist and director of the World Health Organization’s Collaborating Center for Studies on the Ecology of Influenza in Animals, located at St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital in Memphis, Tenn. “Will this disease burn out, or continue to circulate?”
Webby wondered whether cows can be reinfected, and if so, whether subsequent infections differ from the initial one, with potentially different amounts of virus in the milk of infected cows, for instance. Though experimental infections might help to start generating an answer to this question, the best way to answer it would be to monitor farms that have been affected.
Andersen worries what the consequences will be if we get to the point where this question can be answered. “We will eventually find out, however, this is a good example of ‘Let’s not,’” he said. “Let’s just focus on stopping the current epizootic in cattle.”

What’s happening to farmworkers?

Within days of the USDA’s confirmation that H5N1 was infecting cows in some herds in Texas, Kansas, and Michigan, a human infection was confirmed. A farm worker developed a florid case of conjunctivitis — pink eye. A swab of his eye contained the bird flu virus.
Since then, two more bird flu cases have been detected in people, both in Michigan. One also had conjunctivitis, but more recently a farmworker developed more classical flu-like symptoms. There have also been many anecdotal reports of other cases of conjunctivitis on affected farms, and experts believe there have been more human cases than have been confirmed. In addition to the reluctance of farmers to cooperate with authorities trying to study the situation, many of these workers are migrants. Some are likely undocumented. Many may not have access to health care, and may be frightened about interacting with government officials.
There is great interest in doing serology studies among farm workers — drawing blood to look for antibodies to H5N1 to try to get a handle on how often the virus is infecting people on farms. Getting approval to do this work has been challenging. The Texas farmworker refused to give blood.
Without better access to workers, it’s hard to assess where the risk is highest on dairy farms, and hard to put together practical, usable programs to protect them.
“While we know that people with direct, unprotected exposure to animals infected with H5N1 are the most likely to get sick with the virus themselves, CDC is still working to determine how exactly that infection occurs,” the agency told STAT in its submitted questions. “Understanding and defining the specific risky behaviors is important so that we can then translate that into the best means of prevention.”
Meghan Davis concurred. A dairy and mixed animal veterinarian who teaches in Johns Hopkins University’s department of environmental health and engineering and medical school, Davis said that understanding specifically how workers are being exposed on farms could lead to the identification of better ways to use personal protective equipment or even other protective approaches that don’t involve PPE. Farmworkers have been reluctant to wear masks and goggles; the heat in barns makes these tools impractical and even potentially dangerous, impeding their vision of what’s going on around them.

Related: New evidence supports fear that drinking raw milk containing bird flu viruses may be dangerous

“This would be done with exposure studies on positive farms that would involve sampling of a lot of pathways of exposure — air, water, waste — and would include what we call personal exposure assessment,” she said.
Rasmussen would like to know whether the route of exposure to the virus — a splash of milk in the eye, say, versus inhalation of virus-laced particles — affects the type of infection an exposed individual develops, and the severity of the ensuing illness.

What is happening to the virus?

Since H5N1 was first isolated from a goose in China’s Guangdong province in 1996, the virus has undergone extensive evolution. There are now several clades — sub-families, if you will — of the virus circulating in various parts of the world, moved around by wild birds. The version responsible for the outbreak in cows is a virus identified as clade 2.3.4.4b, genotype B3.13. While this clade also circulates in Europe, the B3.13 genotype has not been spotted there.
Until this outbreak, cows were never thought to be susceptible to H5N1. Beer had shown calves could be infected in a lab, but in the real world, cows had never been part of the H5 story.
Is this outbreak a sign that something about the virus changed? Or was it just a lightning strike? This is a question a number of the scientists had.
“Are other 2.3.4.4b viruses with other gene constellations also able to infect cattle?” wondered Kanta Subbarao, a flu virologist at Laval University in Quebec City, Canada.

Related: CDC asks states and cities to keep flu surveillance at peak levels because of bird flu threat

Richt, the veterinarian from Kansas State University who is experimentally infecting dairy cattle, also wants to know whether this H5 virus is special, or if it just got lucky. “Nobody knows whether this ‘bovine H5N1’ is unique or not. Maybe regular ‘avian H5N1’ viruses are able to infect cattle too,” he said. Beer wants to know whether this version of the virus has changes that allow it to infect the mammary gland so efficiently, or whether other versions of 2.3.4.4b — ones circulating in Europe, say — could also do this if they got the opportunity.
Yoshihiro Kawaoka put into words a question that worries many scientists watching this situation, the worry that underscored Fouchier’s insistence that this outbreak must be stopped as quickly as possible. “We do not know whether the bovine H5N1 virus will become established in cattle,” wrote Kawaoka, a flu virologist at the University of Wisconsin-Madison. “If it does, will it evolve to adapt more towards ‘mammalian-like’ influenza viruses? … Will it pose a risk to human health?”
To date, the virus has not been seen to have the capacity to transmit efficiently among a mammalian species; any changes it acquires to allow it to do that could make H5N1 more adept at infecting humans.
Eckerle wonders if we’d know it, in real time, if the virus starts to change in ways that might signal dangerous adaptations for mammal-to-mammal spread. The USDA has been uploading basic genetic data to an international database, but those sequences do not indicate when the virus was collected or in which part of the country. It has been slow to share more complete genetic sequences, to the deep frustration of the scientific community. With this approach, there might be a delay in recognizing the development.

An intriguing curveball

Malik Peiris, who has studied the H5N1 virus since it started to infect people back in 1997 in Hong Kong, raised an intriguing and potentially hopeful question. Peiris, who is chair of virology at the University of Hong Kong’s School of Public Health, wonders whether the risk that H5N1 poses to people has changed in the decades since H5 first started infecting humans. Over the years, close to 900 people in 24 countries are known to have been infected, and about half of them have died.

Related: Wastewater testing specifically for bird flu virus will scale up nationally in coming weeks

Peiris and colleagues wonder, though, whether the 2009 H1N1 pandemic lowered the risk H5N1 poses. The neuraminidase protein on the 2009 virus, the N1, is quite similar, genetically, to the neuraminidase in H5N1. His group in Hong Kong has tested the blood of people who likely had H1N1 — which has circulated in the years since the 2009 pandemic — and tested stored blood samples from before 2009, looking to see if, when exposed to H5N1 virus, cross-reactive antibodies that might kickstart an immune response to H5N1 are present.
Their study is small, but suggestive that because of how similar the viruses are, some people may have antibodies that could help in the face of H5N1 exposure. It should be noted that in the years since 2009, there have been about 425 detected cases of H5N1 infection worldwide, of which about 180 were fatal. In the past decade, though, human cases have been less frequent and somewhat less likely to end in death.
“We need to ascertain how much protection this cross-N1 antibody will provide against H5N1 infection, at least to mitigate disease severity,” Peiris said, adding that his group is continuing to work on this question. “The question is what biological protective effect will they exert, if any?Andrew Joseph contributed reporting."

2024.06.08 19:41 kino00100 Nemesis won't start with MO2

Alright, so, here's the story. I'm starting a new LO for Skyrim SE running 1.5.97 Everything's going great, I've got my character bodies all set up, moving on to animations. So far the only things I've got loaded in are CBBE and it's affiliates + Faster HDT and some hair replaces for it. I've downloaded Nemesis, installed it through MO2, had to sort out the "path not found" bugs and create the appropriate folders for those. Now when I try and launch it through the MO2 drop down (yes everything is set up correctly) it pops a blank error window for about 1/2 a second and closes again.
Things I've done so far:
Verified C++ install
Made a copy of Nemesis_Engine folder in my skyrim directory
made allowance for Nemesis in windows virus defender thingy
Tried launching Nemesis through MO with the bin set to the one now in the skyrim folder, and the one in the MO2 mods folder. Both pop the small error window and crash.
Nemesis WILL run and start if launching the executable directly from the folder. However as the mod directory is built by MO it has no mods to find to build the engine with.
I've been sifting through every thread on steam / reddit / github etc. I can find related to this issue and I've only found two examples of what's happening to me both without solutions. If anyone's got any suggestions or has dealt with this before I'd love to hear from you!

~Part 3 Luna Baby~
A woman like Chang’e lived on a moon. Far away.
You can refer to me as Luna Baby.
At the age of 19 I was diagnosed with a severe nerve pain condition. It is called trigeminal neuralgia but you can call it TN for ease.
I was frustrated. I had completed a degree in international finances from Chongqing University of Business and Technology. The boom of the economy was not the same. There was an urge to “lay flat”—to not try as a form of opposition to everything going on in a waning economy in China.
All are elephants chained for an audience. People love to peek and stare as though they are glass doors without hinges—to be made feel useless.
I developed TN at the age of 19, and was now 22. It came as an arrow, and quite literally to the face. It’s a rare nerve pain disorder often considered one of the most painful conditions known.
The illness involves intense nerve pain throughout the left side of my face. It felt like someone was trying to pull all of the teeth on the left side of my face without anesthesia. The pain can leave me falling to the floor unable to speak or move while screaming profanities while choked by pain. A feeling of a knife to my face over and over again. It leaves me in absolute shock. Like Roman candles to the face. An absolute hindrance. The anticipation of not knowing when it will happen again is a nightmare at times.
The disease is often called the suicide disease, apparently up to 26% try to take their lives. In a state of panic during one of the nerve attacks I began swallowing any pill near to me. I went to the hospital to have my stomach pumped when I was found comatose by my mother.
I want to be Chang’e and on the moon and away from a world I have had enough of.
Gossip spread around the workplace that I attempted suicide over an affair with a married man. There was too much guilt to return to the workplace. COVID did have an impact to the economy. I still remember my hometown having dirt and trees piled onto the exits and entrances to the city keep people in their places.
The work I did find felt beneath me. China has what is called the great firewall that keeps something in and out of the country’s networks. A VPN was necessary to access American TikTok as it was used as opposed to the Chinese version.
Feels humiliating the nature of the outcome for me—I gave up in many ways like so many Chinese youth. For work I would go to a local office building. Amongst a long hall would be rooms for live stream performers. I would entertain with watchers while trying to obtain virtual gifts for actual money. I despised it—sometimes the conversation could be funny or interesting but it felt hollow.
I would paint flowers on my face and wear hanfu clothing while doing ASMR. Competing in battles while dress cute and facing off with others. I would encourage and flatter those that send virtual gifts that could be exchanged for gifts. I would message and ask for WeChat account numbers to talk to them and I would be an emotional prostitute pretending to love and be interested in them for the hopes of more gifts. Methods of manipulation would be used as in begging, guilt tripping a viewer, and love bombing them. Often middle aged men would pretend to be the female host.
I had a mind of sparklers burning until it burnt and stung like wax—like I had the option to stop and cry and those tears stuck as wax and burnt or I soldiered on and grew accustomed to the pain. I was an elephant chained. The audience watched and interacted with me on the live. I was a chained elephant when it was found out about my previous attempt and when the rumors spread.
Too many thorns in life. Nails hitting at the wrong points like an equation for something terrible to eventually happen—a life set to end in misery—a fate.
My favorite dish was Henan noodles. I often cooked it with my mom. It provides great memories of childhood. I hadn’t talked to my mother as much as before. She moved to a job in Taiyuan.
Sometimes I would go up to visit her. But it was harder as she worked more and more hours. Sometimes voids build even when going through extreme nerve pain. And with trigeminal neuralgia, the pain was so intense that I would freeze and scream in pain. It cannot always be hid. It made me an elephant tethered.
Life can be like a pressure like no other. Too much stress. Makes one feel irritable with a mouth like a sprinkler of napalm when someone is too close. Life feels like a lit fire cracker held—in the end it would tear my hand up. Things kept building while the other side of my face began to hurt too recently. This was rare and not so common. My eyesight was becoming blurry too and it seemed I might have multiple sclerosis as the pain was on both side, it was not common for my age, and the blurry eyesight. An appointment was scheduled and I felt terrified to know what was going on and wondered if it was best to not even know my health.
I walked out of the studio and had a cigarette. My boss came out and joined to talk. He was concerned about view count and wanted me to do things to increase it that made me feel uncomfortable. He made a few comments I found incentive.
The boss sure liked to criticize and apply pressure. He was not impressed with my work and thought I could do something different. In China an application is used called WeChat. This application has many uses. People can display and share moments like a Facebook wall, message each other, send money, video chat, and even has a feature to find people near to you who are also looking for people near to them. I was to attract people onto dates. The idea was they would be lured in and the men would go to a set destination to a planned tea house that served snacks. When the men arrived (they had no knowledge of the setup) the bill would be at an absurd rate and if the men refused to pay larger men would use their size to force them to pay up.
I was not sure at the time yet if I wanted the job. Being worried about ethics and safety. It was something I would have to think about.
My medical expenses were growing and I knew the nerve disease could be expensive to treat with surgery. All I had was thoughts while looking at the moon.

~Final~
Easily happy fooling ourselves.
Something unusual happened as thoughts transplanted and I became more aware of everything around me. Luna Baby and the girl made of paper were identical twins disconnected.
I’m from Luoyang in Henan but work in a city further away in Zhengzhou. I am a migrant worker. Always missing my wife as I grow distant from her. Our seven year old daughter Leina goes to school and lives with my mother in law who helps to raise her. My wife Ai works at a factory in Guangzhou. In China there is something called the huko system. It is a government official book that shows the family and ties them to a city and region. Somebody cannot receive access to government help such as public education.
I had the feeling and paranoia my wife must be seeing someone else amongst her loneliness in Guangzhou. The feelings at me up.
I worked at a factory for Foxconn (Taiwanese owned)—the largest facility was in Zhengzhou where they built the iPhone—a symbol of capitalism—a symbol to distract ourselves from ungodliness and discontent. Deceive ourselves to be happy. Vampires of society suck us dry on screens. I’m unhappy.
Are you just like me?
To escape from suffocating from worries I look Luna baby while smoking hashish. Send her gifts to make a hole in me. Then I get to be happy. Life gets into a routine m, swim or drown—when I get bored I get unhappy.
Being alienated as a worker with no family or support around me. It makes me weak. Weak like so many things I noticed in Henan.
The yellow river through the city looked like something that could eat the weak—crumble like buildings built quickly only to be empty. I had colleagues who went to the banks to find there was no money they pull out. Everyone felt uneasy. Just like when COVID had broken out. It also made us all in the city feel weak and uneasy like stilts in sand. Tractors dropped rocks and trees on the exits from the city. We could not leave even if we wanted to.
The sickle and hammer worked to use violence to make the working class to keep making the iPhone. It felt Beijing hated Henan. I felt distant from elites like I was to my wife. I could smell a flooding coming.
Our phones had to carry COVD Identification. If somebody had a green dot it meant to COVID or contact with others with COVID. Red meant that one was considered a contact and needed to be isolated and couldn’t be out. When people were upset with the collapse of local banks they went to the banks in protest. Before plain clothes police of the communist party came and use violence against the working class, protestors had their codes turned to red to force them to shut up and kept isolated from home to not be a nuisance.
Discontent grew under the baton of the party. People were welded into their apartments if the apartment building had cases. One building apartment had burned down and everyone died inside as they were trapped in the confines of the apartment.
I felt barricaded in the factory. We were not getting our allowances and we were being forced to stay amongst our rooms with those positive with the virus. Virus was becoming like a baton to beat us. Like kettles of corn we began to pop in our dormitories. We began to feel discontent and corned within the premises of the factory. I can smell rain like my mind knows flood waters are coming. There is a myth in China called the heavens mandate—a sort of supernatural belief. It is considered import in China to respect authority figures in our lives—this includes parents to leaders of the country—but if things fall apart or if there are natural disasters, it is indicative that heaven wants the people to replace the leader—it is a time to revolt and make demands. It felt like one of those times.
I was amongst the chaos. In the yard of the factory where men in white hazmat suits came with metals poles to clash with the workers.
The speakers were set up by police and security and the workers had speakers too, echoing back at each other like a badminton match.
Luna Baby was on her phone far away like Chang’e on the moon.

2024.06.08 15:14 TheMonarchist1910 Help with Google

Hello everybody, recently I have ran into a problem on my Windows 11 when I installed a .exe file that has led to my PC getting a virus/hacker. I have saw that there was something or someone interfering with my Google accs, Google warned me of suspicious activity. I immediately thought I was hacked and changed my passwords. The problem worsened when I saw that my Google on my PC kept opening websites by itself, it opened Youtube and Facebook sites on startup. I tried resetting Google to no avail.
I have downloaded Kaspersky Antivirus and ran a scan, it said it found tons of malware and trojans, I'm currently getting rid of them all, hopefully it works, but I'm not sure why Google has been opening itself.
Any help to get completely rid of this issue?

2024.06.08 13:10 SpottySunflower past malware worries

i used to download mods and stuff for the sims and minecraft from various sources. i never noticed any problems with my laptop until it was slowing down one day (but that was fixed after updating the graphics drivers) about 6 months ago i got an antivirus after not having one for years, and it detected 4-5 pieces of malware and removed them, im assuming this came from the mods i downloaded. at the time i just thought ‘ok cool the malwares gone’ and didn’t think much else about it since i thought malware just slowed down your computer. but now i’m worried that my personal information could have been stolen or my webcam turned on and i was spied on without my knowledge. i have entered card info into microsoft store while the malware was on there, but as far as i’m aware there has been no dodgy transactions since. can anyone help? i’ve done multiple antivirus scans since them from multiple different antiviruses (norton, avg, bitdefender) and all of those scans have came up with no threats. pretty sure it isnt ransomware as i haven’t had anything restricted, or any threatening emails. also, nothing suspicious has happened on my computer since they malware was removed. only thing thats came up is according to norton smart scan ‘23874 performance issues found, 16 apps slowing down pc, 462 broken registry keys, and 10913 MB of clutter’
  1. i’m extremely worried that they have turned on my webcam (and perhaps microphone) without my knowledge and i dont know if theres anything i can do to find out if they have/havent and if they have, what i can do about it?? could they have turned on the microphone whilst my laptop was turned off and listened? i’ve checked and i’ve had my microphone turned off in settings, but not my camera
  2. do i need to do a factory reset? as i’ve mentioned earlier, i’ve done tons of antivirus tests including deep scans and they’ve all came back with no viruses/threats. i don’t really want to do a factory reset either because i dont want to have to re-download all of my files, since i don’t even know how to do that
  3. how bad could this malware be? at first i assumed it was just slowing down my computer a bit, but i’ve found out it could be MUCH worse. are there any signs i can look for that would tell me how bad it was? is it likely that its really, really bad?
sorry if this post is very messily written/has typos, if you couldn’t tell i’m very scared lol, so any help would be MUCH appreciated!!
EDIT- i have also transferred photos from my phone to my laptop, could the malware have any affect on my phone now??

Some of the Reasons Why the UFO Subculture is Perceived of as “Crazy”
Some of the Reasons Why the UFO Subculture is Perceived of as “Crazy”
Joseph Burkes MD 2022, edited 2024

A past comment on a social media page opined that if weren’t for the work of people like Mr. Grant Cameron and Reinerio Hernandez Esq., even more people in the larger society would think that the UFO community is "bat shit crazy." It is certainly true that the UFO subculture has been marginalized. Many of us have extreme views that appear to be totally ridiculous to the larger society.

Despite the successful efforts of former Pentagon insiders like Chris Mellon and Luis Elizondo to facilitate more media coverage of what are now being called UAPs (Unidentified Aerial Phenomena), there has yet to be a larger societal discussion about the subject of flying saucers. This is true even after the Senate in 2023 unanimously approved Chuck Schumer’s “controlled disclosure” proposal and the House Oversight Committee heard the testimony of David Grusch describing UAP reverse engineering efforts. Public attitudes on this topic continue to be shaped by Hollywood sci-fi fantasies, superficial tabloid style media coverage and the refusal of the academic establishment to recognize flying saucers as a challenge to terrestrial science.

In pondering this dilemma, Puck’s line from Shakespeare’s “Midsummer’s Dream” comes to mind. “Lord what fools these mortals be!” I suppose it might be tempting to attribute this unfortunate situation to mere human stupidity. Any analysis should mention our tendency to “fall in love” with one particular view and then deny any fact that might challenge a beloved pet theory. Nevertheless, I urge contact and disclosure activists to see our predicament within a more compassionate view, one that also includes a power structure analysis of the long-standing flying saucer coverup.
For decades the MSM has portrayed UFO enthusiasts as members of the tin foil brigade.
In my judgment, the UFO subculture has historically been marginalized by the mass media, the political class and an academia, all controlled by "the one percent." This last term, which is an alternate designation for “the ruling class,” points to the elite forces that in my judgment are behind the UFO truth embargo. Up until the recent past, they have regulated the public discussion by employing a systematic program of ridicule and denial that results in the following:

1. Commercial pilots have been removed from active duty and threatened with firings for the “crime” of reporting their sightings.

2.Academic scientists have faced the loss of the respect from their colleagues or worse denial of research funding for the “crime” of publicly expressing an interest in this subject.

3. And most importantly, countless contact experiencers have been denied the love and support of their family and friends for the “crime” of wanting to share their stories of contact.

This list by no means is complete. We should never forget that this unfortunate situation has been engineered with great skill and determination by what might be called “the control groups” in service to elite factions within society. The control groups are likely composed of key figures in the military and intelligence communities, in academia, the media and in advertising industries. Why are flying saucers threatening to our planet’s wealthiest and most powerful families? Here are just a few reasons:

1.They can fly circles around our military’s best performance jet fighters. This shows that air forces are unable to “secure our airspace” from unwarranted intrusions. Thus, in this particular area, our top military officials are at risk of being seen as either incompetent, impotent or both.

2. Similarly UAPs threaten economic elites. Oil and gas corporations command the largest sector of our world economy. Flying saucers are clearly not flying on fossil fuels. If under conditions of world peace, the secrets of “alien craft” propulsion systems could be safely downloaded into our technological culture, we could perhaps solve the problem of global warming. This, however, would end the profits of what has been called the “empire of oil.”

3. And finally we have US Executive Branch government officials. For eight decades they have run a de facto policy of ridicule and denial. I strongly suspect that might be fearful of the consequences if their roles in this campaign of deception were exposed.

4. Flying Saucer Phenomena, according to the prominent scientist and UFO researcher Jacques Vallee, appear to be able to “manipulate spacetime.” This capability results in encounters described as “high strangeness.” These bizarre occurrences appear to violate not only the accepted laws of space and time, but even the mechanisms of causation. Contact experiencers are confronted with amazing coincidences called “synchronicities” in which events are linked not via cause and effect but rather by meaning. These anomalies in their totality challenge the philosophical bedrock of elite science known as physicalism or materialism.

Without access to large numbers of academically trained researchers or skilled investigative journalists, the UFO subculture has attempted to address what are perhaps the greatest mysteries confronting humanity. With such limited intellectual resources, it is not surprising that the subculture harbors many poorly informed people who develop bizarre points of views. But we should attribute those distorted perceptions, not only to those who have them, but also to those elite forces that have systematically lied to humanity since 1947. Let’s now examine two popular belief systems that exist within the UFO community.
On one extreme, we have the alien abduction theorists. In my judgment, they have blinded themselves and alas so many others by framing contact with the "Others" that we call “ET” within the confines of what they imagine are physical criminal acts, “alien abductions.” All my research, however, indicates that CE-4s are better understood as manifestations of primarily psychic phenomena, albeit with some interesting physical aspects like scoop marks and medical healings. On the other side, we have what can be labeled as “New Age” religionists. These are people with primarily a spiritual orientation that frame contact within a concept of salvation sometimes called “ascension.”
These two extreme points of view can be best understood as opposite sides of the same counterfeit coin. In my judgment, it is a coin that that has been stamped in a mint controlled by elite forces. The so-called “control groups” in service to the ruling class have for eighty years engaged in a systematic program of ridicule and denial. Recent revelations before the US Congress gives us hope that what has been labelled the “UFO Truth Embargo” might be coming to an end. Nonetheless, we should never forget those that have suffered in the past and will continue to suffer if the larger society refuses to have fair, balanced and widely publicized discussions not only about UAPs, but also about the millions of human/non-human encounters that are associated with the phenomenon. Thus, in my view, we might not be at the beginning of the end of the flying saucer cover up. It will likely continue in different forms for a considerable amount of time.

I strongly suspect that elite forces will continue to manage a limited disclosure in ways that will serve the interests of a coalition of powerful interests. Nevertheless, this new policy of openness is a major achievement and sets the stage for discussing how we might create a social movement that can link what we call flying saucers to possible solutions to the major challenges facing humanity. I refer to war, racism and global warming that collectively threaten to tear our civilization apart.

As a former peace and social justice activist from the 1960s into the 1980s, I believe that such a struggle will ultimately be successful. Those that look for a positive future will need to start planning for such a grand campaign. I am very encouraged by Danny Sheehan’s New Paradigm Institute. This group is organizing a grass roots movement to put pressure on Congress and ultimately the US President to disclose the reality and importance of what are now called UAP. Like the historic struggles to end chattel slavery and to win the most basic rights for women, this campaign will likely unfold over generations. As the Chinese saying attributed to the great Lao Tzu is translated into English, “The journey of a thousand miles begins with a single step.”

Let’s take that step together and build a robust social movement to end the UFO truth embargo.

You can’t control a person who wants “no thing.” I suspect that Flying Saucer Intelligences are feared by our planet’s elites because they can’t be controlled by the usual methods applied to the general population. If we start to identify, not with things and thought forms, but rather with universal consciousness, then ultimately, we cannot be controlled either.

Some of the Reasons Why the UFO Subculture is Perceived of as “Crazy”
Some of the Reasons Why the UFO Subculture is Perceived of as “Crazy”
Joseph Burkes MD 2022, edited 2024

For decades the MSM has portrayed UFO enthusiasts as members of the tin foil brigade

In my judgment, the UFO subculture has historically been marginalized by the mass media, the political class and an academia, all controlled by "the one percenter." This last term, which is an alternate designation for “the ruling class,” points to the elite forces that in my judgment are behind the UFO truth embargo.

Additional blogs on the societal impact of flying saucer phenomena:
You can’t control a person who wants “no thing.” I suspect that Flying Saucer Intelligences are feared by our planet’s elites because they can’t be controlled by the usual methods applied to the general population. If we start to identify, not with things and thought forms, but rather with universal consciousness, then ultimately, we cannot be controlled either.

Confirmation rather than the big “D” Disclosure is likely the next step in the authority’s gradual acclimatization program. The possibilities of linking flying saucers to solutions for major terrestrial problems is discussed.

2024.06.08 06:08 tayprangle Timeline clarification

Spoilers for the ENTIRE GAME INCLUDING ENDINGS
Just finished the game's true ending, thanks to everyone who helped me find it! I loved this game but I'm a little shaky on the timeline and wanted some input. This is my best understanding of the events immediately before the game. Am I missing anything significant or did I misinterpret anything?
  1. Yi dies in his lab, the roots listen to Heng's pleas and revive him
  2. At some point, Eigong is researching immortality and accidentally creates Tianhuo
  3. 500 years ago, the Tiandao council seizes power and Yi and co begin working on the Eternal Cauldron Project
  4. The island where Lear did very important things a long time ago is retrofitted into New Kunlun, a space station/ship
  5. Lady Ethereal brushes past issues with the soulscapes and approves them for wider use
  6. Some citizens of Penglai board New Kunlun, are downloaded into individual soulscapes.
  7. Heng stays behind and Yi claims he'll return one last time
  8. New Kunlun warps to the Pale Blue Planet, captures a bunch of humans, then goes to orbit around the sun to charge the roots
  9. Yi discovers that Eigong created Tianhuo AND that she has no real hope of creating a cure
  10. Fight
  11. Yi is defeated and falls into the human region where the roots revive him again, very very slowly
  12. 500 years pass and Yi slowly recuperates, eventually meeting and befriending Shuanshuan
  13. The game starts
The things I'm most shaky on are Yi's motivation for revenge and when, exactly, Yi was planning to return for Heng.
For the first, is he just angry that Eigong lied to everyone about it being a solarian-made virus? I feel like even if he had known, he still would have thought of the Eternal Cauldron Project. Is it because he thinks he could have swayed Heng away from the Tao if he told her it wasn't a natural death?
And then, when we learn that Yi never returned for Heng, at first I thought it was because he was so frustrated and angry at her that he just refused, and then she died, and that's part of his guilt and shame. But after listening to her final message, he says "I meant to come back for you, I didn't know I would wake up 100s of years later." So was the plan to return to Penglai after visiting the pale blue planet?? I thought they would need 500 years to charge the warp again

2024.06.08 02:21 Contactunderground Some of the Reasons Why the UFO Subculture is Perceived of as “Crazy”

Some of the Reasons Why the UFO Subculture is Perceived of as “Crazy”
Some of the Reasons Why the UFO Subculture is Perceived of as “Crazy”
Joseph Burkes MD 2022, edited 2024

This is the way the MSM has portrayed UFO fans for decades.

In my judgment, the UFO subculture has historically been marginalized by the mass media, the political class and an academia, all controlled by "the one percenter." This last term, which is an alternate designation for “the ruling class,” points to the elite forces that in my judgment are behind the UFO truth embargo.

Additional blogs on the societal impact of flying saucer phenomena:
You can’t control a person who wants “no thing.” I suspect that Flying Saucer Intelligences are feared by our planet’s elites because they can’t be controlled by the usual methods applied to the general population. If we start to identify, not with things and thought forms, but rather with universal consciousness, then ultimately, we cannot be controlled either.
https://contactunderground.wordpress.com/2021/10/19/why-do-the-control-groups-oppose-an-et-presence/
Confirmation rather than the big “D” Disclosure is likely the next step in the authority’s gradual acclimatization program. The possibilities of linking flying saucers to solutions for major terrestrial problems is discussed.
https://contactunderground.wordpress.com/2022/08/29/disclosure-versus-confirmation-preparing-the-foundation-for-a-cosmic-peace-campaign/

If flying saucer intelligences threaten all terrestrial elites, but not necessarily the Earth’s people, then it is understandable that governmental response to UFOs is a counterintelligence one.
