2024.05.29 05:40 MikeBaomont Isekai Reboot - An Idle game prototype

I've been developing a prototype called "Isekai Reboot," and it's reached a stage where the core elements and story begin to intertwine and unfold. You can observe the fundamental dynamics at play, and if everything goes as intended, you'll start to grasp the overarching concept of the game.
As you progress, the experience culminates with the final upgrade, "Mind Capacity," accompanied by a narrative piece titled "Capacity Upgrade." This marks the end of the currently available content, setting the stage for the story and mechanics to coalesce.
I'm eager to gather your thoughts on this version of the game. What aspects resonated with you? Are there elements you felt could be improved? How did you find the pacing, and were there any noticeable balancing issues?
If you're interested in trying "Isekai Reboot," you can find it on Itch. Please ensure to play it in fullscreen mode to get the full experience, as it is optimized for desktop play. Your feedback would be invaluable and greatly appreciated as I continue to refine and enhance the game. Here's the link to the game: https://baomont.itch.io/isekai-reboot
Thank you for your time and insights!

2024.05.29 05:35 adulting4kids Weird West

Prompt 3: Weird West
Dear Writer,
Weird West merges Western themes with supernatural or speculative elements, often set in an alternate history. Compose a letter in this subgenre addressed to a character from your story, immersing them in a world where the Wild West collides with the bizarre and the uncanny.
Describe how your character navigates this peculiar blend of Western frontier life intertwined with supernatural occurrences or speculative elements. Does the character encounter mythical creatures, bizarre technology, or unexplained phenomena within the vast expanses of the Western landscape? How do these elements impact the character's perceptions, decisions, and interactions within this unconventional setting?
Your task is to intricately weave the character's experiences within this surreal Wild West, creating a letter that encapsulates the essence of the Weird West subgenre in a captivating narrative.

2024.05.29 05:28 RecentSuggestion3050 Middle-grade fiction, orphan boy using hypnosis

I've been trying to remember the name of this book for at least five years and can't come up with anything due to a different middle grade series clogging up the search results on google
What I can remember is it's middle-grade fiction from the first person POV of a young boy telling the story of meeting another boy who moved into the neighborhood or just appeared in the town? I remember this boy was either an orphan or something, he was in the care of an older woman. He had figured out how to use hypnosis and much of the story was kind of centered around how he was using that ability and the narrator reacting to it.
I can't remember if the book ends with his death or if he goes away from the town?
Any help would be hugely appreciated. I've been drawing a blank and it's driving me nuts.

2024.05.29 05:27 Little_Rudo Question About Narrative Quest Order

Hello! When the new Players Handbook releases in September, I decided to run an older module as an exercise for my gaming group to run low-level PCs with the new mechanics and learn them, and I set my eyes on Icespire Peak (and the following trilogy if the game goes well). My group tends to prefer a more story-driven, less open-world game, so instead of having them pick quests I intend to put the quests in a specific order and narratively lead them through them. (Naturally, if the story leads them in another order, so be it! But I want to lay foreshadowing and story elements with a specific order in mind.)
My question is, is there a good order to run the quests in from a narrative POV? I intend to run the three 'beginner' quests first (Umbrage Hill, Dwarven Excavation and Gnomengarde) and naturally end with Icespire Hold. But for example, I read Dragon Barrow and saw it has a very natural lead-in to Circle of Thunder immediately after. Any thoughts on a series of quest progression that would feel pretty natural? If it flows well in terms of challenge, that's also good, but I'm comfortable tweaking encounters and such to account for the party's strength, and expect to do so given we'll be using the updated Handbook.

2024.05.29 05:25 AmatoxinFantasies This is gonna sound dumb but how do you tag a game?

This is gonna sound like the dumbest question ever and I'm working on making my first actually published game so I want to tag it properly so like how do you tag a game? Like RPGs? It's a Role Playing Game but don't you play a role in every game? Or genres like horror but monsters don't appear until like a third of the way through? What makes something a visual novel VS. an interactive fiction game?
JRPGs are technically only made in Japan but I'd consider CrossCode a JRPG based on the style.
When does something stop being an adventure game?
Do I just base it off vibes? Am I just splitting hairs?
Like this is the basic premise of my game:
A small town is infested with parasitic monsters that take over people's bodies and completely controls them and one of the only signs is that they're really happy. You follow around a 17 year old girl trying to just survive in a town filled with controlled people. It's focused less on combat (though there are a couple battles) and monsters and more on the threat that anyone could have one of the parasites in them. Right now I'm planning on making it more like a 3d stylized comic book style in a black, white, and one other color style.
What tags do I put for that? Should I just wait until I have the prologue ready for people to play and then ask them what they think?
Right now on my itch page I have 'Monsters,' 'Narrative,' 'story rich', and 'horror,' but does it count as horror since I'm not completely in your face with the monsters? Would it count as psychological horror since besides like 3-4 monsters no others really appear it's just the threat of them? Is it action or just a story with action elements?

2024.05.29 05:00 yellowumbrella Wu-Tang Clan's Method Man Shares Workout at Nearly 50 Years Old

Cliff Smith grunts as he wraps his hands around the barbell, bends his knees, and lowers his six-foot-three frame toward the floor. He tenses his entire body, exhales twice, and starts pulling 455 pounds upward. His legs shake as he stands fully upright, and then he lowers the weight, breathes deeply, and does it all over again. He does five total reps, then drops the bar and smiles. "Ain't even winded," he says. "Holla at me. "
The five reps are a personal best for Smith (better known as Method Man), who loves starting his day by chasing PRs.
On this morning, he's in a Staten Island gym pondering his next milestone birthday (he turns 50 in March) and crushing sets of deadlifts, pullups, and barbell rows. "I gotta get my roses now," he says,"because I'm almost 50 fucking years old. Damn near 50 years old, bruh. "The Grammy Award-winning rap veteran has focused creativity into a host of projects lately. He appears in Starz's drama Power Book II: Ghost (returning for the second half of its first season in December); he voiced the character Ben Urich in Marvels, a narrative-fiction podcast; and he's working on new music.
His morning workout has readied him for all that-and it's kept him from predawn video-game marathons. In 2018, Smith says, he was battling insomnia, frequently waking at 2:00 and playing NBA2K. Realizing he was "just wasting time," Smith searched for a more productive use of his early-morning hours. "So at 4:00 , I find myself in the gym working out," he says. "Two days turned into three days. Three days turned into five days, and I've been consistent ever since. " Bonus: His insomnia is gone.
Smith now weighs 219, 12 pounds less than he weighed when he first started training. He hits legs Mondays, shoulders Tuesdays, back Wednesdays, chest Thursdays, and arms Fridays. "He's a beast," says his workout partner, Joey Crespo. "Our routine has only been heavy, heavy, all year round. "
At the moment, that means gritting out three sets of seated lat pulldowns, followed by a core exercise that has him on his knees, rolling a wheel forward, challenging his abs. He finishes the session by sitting on a bench with a harness connected to his forehead, a weight hanging in front of his chest. He lowers his head to look at the ground, then flexes his neck muscles to raise his head and look straight ahead, an old-school neck exercise that few gym-goers will do. Smith does it regularly. "Regardless of how tired I get, no matter what the workout is, I at least will try it," he says between deep breaths. "I'm not going to say no to anything. "
You may not have Method Man's fancy neck-training gear or his deadlift weight. But if you have a resistance band, you can try his favorite at-home regimen.
Pushups
Do 25 to 30 reps. Aim for 5 sets.
Banded Curl
Stand on a resistance band, its ends held at your sides, your core tight. Curl up, squeezing your biceps; then lower. That's 1 rep; do 15 to Do 5 sets.
Banded Shoulder Press
Stand on a resistance band, its ends held at your shoulders, your core tight. Tighten your shoulder blades and press the band overhead. Pause, then return to the start. That's 1 rep; do 15 to Do 5 sets.
A version of this story originally appears in the November 2020 issue of Men's Health, with the title "The 6 Workout w/ Method Man".

2024.05.29 04:53 Azkalus Story idea

I've been working on a superhero story that I'm incredibly passionate about. Over the years, I've watched over 1,000 movies and TV shows, drawing inspiration from the vast array of characters and narratives. As a big fan of Marvel and DC, I've always admired their ability to create compelling superhero universes that captivate audiences.
My story is rooted in this admiration, and I’ve put a lot of effort into crafting characters with unique superpowers and rich backstories. I believe my story stands strong and has the potential to offer something new and exciting to the superhero genre. My goal is to create characters whose abilities and adventures can rival those of any fictional character out there.
However, despite my confidence in the quality of my story, I can't help but feel a sense of apprehension. The fear that my book might not receive the recognition it deserves if published is something that weighs heavily on my mind. I know the competitive nature of the entertainment industry, and the challenge of standing out in such a crowded field can be daunting.
Ultimately, my hope is to contribute to the superhero genre in a meaningful way. I want to create characters and stories that resonate with readers and viewers, much like the heroes of Marvel and DC have done for me. If my story can provide even a fraction of the excitement and inspiration that these franchises have, I would consider it a success.
In the end, maybe my work could introduce a new wave of competition in the superhero franchise, offering fresh perspectives and narratives that enrich the genre even further. I'm excited about the possibilities and remain hopeful that my efforts will be recognized and appreciated by fans of superhero stories everywhere.

2024.05.29 04:52 FullofSeoul The reason for the Korean hate towards Eunchae: A targeted attack (and insight into Korean students)

I just read a post about how Eunchae should be protected more, and I could not agree more in that the vitriol towards her has gotten way out of hand.
In that post, I noticed that people kinda brushed passed the controversy of her teasing high school students as a non-issue (which, don't get me wrong, it definitely is), but I'd like to provide some cultural context because it was this specific moment that garnered the most hate for her among Korean kpop stans. Coachella doesn't even come close.
I want to explain why her comments generated so much outrage, and in particular, how her words were taken out of context and purposely made to sound so much worse.
The Situation (and the context)
On a 3/17 Weverse ~11min, Eunchae made a bit of a joke where poked fun at students having to get up early, saying that "That must be hard~ I had to do that too at one point too~~" and the conversation then continues onward with the other members about how difficult it was to get up that early during their student days.
This was combined with another live on 9/07 ~27min (though the context starts a few minutes prior) with Kkura. In it, the two of the discuss conversations with their non-celebrity friends. Boomer Kkura tends to just talk or text, which surprises Eunchae, since she almost always prefers to facetime instead (don't worry Kkura, same). Kkura mentions that the first thing she asks her friends are, "you haven't gotten married yet right?" whereas Eunchae says that her friends have been recently talking about becoming high school seniors. That topic closes with Eunchae talking about a recent conversation she had video call she had with her close friend, who complained that she had to get up early, upon which Eunchae teased her and says, "I start at 11 tomorrow! Hella lucky~"
Maybe a bit of a crass joke in the first clip, but nothing too major, right?
The Attack (and the twisting of facts)
This is where the usual suspects come in: Twitter.
Disclaimer: I'm going to be completely honest here. I don't follow Pann or FMKorea or all the other niche online communities except since the HYBE/MHJ situatio, but while researching this topic, I searched Eunchae's name on both sites to see how the situation unfolded (I can't really search theqoo very well because that site has the worst user-friendliness I've ever seen).
The situation blew up on March 15th (as far back as I can find), with this Twitter post blowing up and a Pann post (now deleted, restored w/ Wayback).
(Note, regarding the deleted Pann post, it was referenced in this YouTube video by one of those trash drama Youtubers and had 150k+ views at the time of their video)
There were also some pretty weird posts on Pann around this time, nitpicking her response in an EASY interview to say she thinks LSF was successful and spreading twitter posts of private documents to prove that she didn't get accepted to Hanlim (I will not be sharing this one.) Many comments at that point on Pann are still quite sympathetic to Eunchae, with the top comments defending her and telling the twitter bitches to go away (although the doxxing post still got 600+ upvotes and 300k+ views)
After this though, the narrative began to change, combining the clips above and turning it from Eunchae teasing students, to Eunchae teasing High School Seniors. And things began to take a huge shift.
After this began to spread, March 23rd, comments started to become more negative (example posts on March 17th and March 23rd).
Alright, I can hear you saying, students, high school students, so what?
Korean Seniors and the Suneung
If you're at all familiar with Korean culture, you know where I'm going with this.
The Suneung is the Korean equivalent of the American SAT, except it is so much more than that. If I had to explain it, the Suneung is your entire life. Imagine your college application, except screw your class grades, your extracurriculars, your letters of rec, your essay. The only thing that really matters is your SAT score.
It is a huge deal. The entire nation BBC article falls silent on the day of the Suneung. Stores close, construction stops, traffic is redirected, the stock market opens late. On the day of the Suneung, there are no flights.
It happens 1 time a year. Just once. If you miss it or get a bad grade, you repeat a year just to get a chance to retake it.
And high school seniors carry all of that stress. They are studying for a test that is the culmination of their entire education and determines their entire future. There are many, many stories of students falling into deep depression, even after doing well on the Suneung, because studying for that test consumed them to the point that they don't know what to do after it's over. These students study in excess of 15 hours a day, from 7am to 10pm.
You do not touch high school seniors, ever. There is a saying that even parents tiptoe around their kids once the test date nears.
Also, keep in mind that the primary demographic for kpop are young adults. People that are in school, preparing for this test that they will eventually have to overcome. Some of those people might be repeating a year (or two or three or four) while studying for that test.
And so, when the narrative shifted from Eunchae teasing a close friend about having to get up early to Eunchae making fun of High School Seniors for having to get up early, things turned ugly quick.
And then Coachella happened. And then MHJ opened her big mouth. And you guys know the rest.
So that's my little story. I hope this provided some insight as to why it seems like the hate for Eunchae seemed so particularly loud on the Korean side, and how she suddenly switched from nearly universally loved to the opposite.
In conclusion, fuck Twitter yo.
P.S. Is this post worth posting on the kpopthoughts subreddit? I'm split because it provides context, but also this has kinda flown by international eyes and I don't really want to accidentally add fuel to the flame. LSF and Eunchae have it hard enough as it is.
P.P.S. Sorry mods, I noticed the other post was removed. If this post breaks the rules, feel free to remove and I'll repost it in the weekly thread or something.

2024.05.29 04:51 Individual_Golf711 Surprised by a new favorite character

Karsa Orlong.
When HoC began with such a long story lingering on Karsa, I was uncomfortable and unsure. I have so come to enjoy Erikson’s movement from scene to scene, that the continued narrative of one sole character for so long felt weird.
But once again, my hat tips to Mr Erikson. He’s won my faith as a reader now. Even if the first scene of Midnight Tides were to take place on Sesame Street, I’d buckle up for something amazing.
But did anyone else feel like Karsa stole the show? His arc was so satisfying. I feel like I could I could lose so many epic moments, but slicing his way through Deragoth takes the cake. Given the amount of pages dedicated to Karsa, I’m really hoping to see him again.
Though my wife has already grown weary of my constantly exclaiming “witness!” before I do literally anything now 😂

2024.05.29 04:30 SushiJo Will Patton

If he reads it, I'm buying it. Listening to Stephen King's new collection of short stories and WP is killing it, again. He is by FAR my favorite narrator.
Recommended books:
Dead Man's Walk by Larry McMurtrey
Thirteen Moons by Charles Frasier (all of his books, really)
You Like It Darker by Stephen King (again....the combo of SK and WP is usually a grand slam)
Funny note: if you watched Californication, you may remember WP as Karen's ex husband. He had a very memorable scene, naked at a dinner party.

2024.05.29 04:29 Alarmed-Employment72 Kaneshiro Only Plays Safe With Isagi

Kaneshiro’s showed what he’s capable of for a good while now for us to know this. He only ever makes Isagi show out when it’s “safe” to do so.

Basic Isagi patterns

Usually any of these 3 scenario’s happen:
  1. Everyone else gets moments and/or goals then Isagi’s the last goal merchant (almost every game)
  2. Isagi scores first soley to highlight he improved his shooting (First 3v3, Ubers, PxG)
  3. A character that went GOAL-LESS gets character development and scores over Isagi. Rin and Bachira scored first then failed when it mattered more. So you can’t compare Kaiser to them, you HAVE to look at Barou/Yuki as references
Most of Isagi’s games follow pattern 1. 3 occasions it showcased pattern 2.

It took a steak of L’s for Isagi to be allowed a brace in two separate occasions

The only 2 times Isagi got a brace was when Kaneshiro deemed it safe to do so:
Now, Isagi will likely get a brace vs PxG, despite his streak of W’s, so this “Isagi has to be humbled for 2 games before more than 1 goal” pattern may break
But honestly, when you actually think about the type of author Kaneshiro is, you realize Isagi’s hattrick can’t happen this game. Kaneshiro’s incapable of it. It will happen when he thinks it’s “safe” to do that.

Safe Hattrick options

These are the safest options for Kaneshiro. Even then he’ll still make Isagi go goal-less for the match before it just to make it safer. Not really sure when the manga ends so let’s keep the scope till the u20 WC until we know where Kaneshiro takes the story after

Why we shouldn’t even believe in a hattrick

I get that back in the Manshine match with Yuki, we could’ve wrote off Barou as a one time thing. Not anymore. Kaneshiro almost solidified it. If Kaiser scores next it’s a hard written rule at that point. I’d go as far as to say it kills enjoyment going forward when we see this pattern a 4th time in the future, as we would know Kaneshiro’s incapable of anything else. He doesn’t do bold moves with Isagi especially not at the expense of a character of focus.
Isagi talked about a hat trick. He also said “I’ll change the world with my goalS” or something like that in the u20 match and ended up as the last goal merchant AGAIN. You can write off his words easily. Sure there’s more “narrative weight” here but Isagi thinking he needs a hattrick to consider himself “above” Rin is a flaw in itself. Even if he got a hattrick now he won’t be Top scorer.

Why others show out easier while Isagi is always “play it safe”

Rin, Nagi, Barou and Shidou were established as cracked so they do big moves as “status quo”. Isagi’s never and maybe will never.

Counter argument

Isagi wasn’t consistently reliable up till Manshine match as a player and up until Ubers as a scorer. Now when he’s finally considered good he’s in an arc with a hard set 3 goal limit, on a team where his rival is an important NG11 who also needs development. And maybe in a larger scope these basic patterns will fizzle out now that Isagi should be good enough to be more consistent

My opinion of Kaneshiro IF Isagi got a hattrick

If Kaneshiro gives Isagi the hattrick, he’s broken his basic patterns for once, which I’d be interested in. I’d take back everything I’ve said. Since imo Kaneshiro is predictable. I don’t see how anyone can say a hat trick is predictable when if you’ve read the patterns Kaneshiro has constantly put out you’d know this would be the most unusual thing he’s ever done. Legit a miracle since it’s borderline impossible. What’s subjective is whether or not that result is boring or underwhelming but I’m not diving into any of that. Think what you want. Half the fandom wants it the other half despises it so whatever honestly
But since the manga’s started I haven’t been wrong with what I said about Isagi just winning when it’s safe. Isagi even scoring back to back is more than we should be asking for which is why if Isagi scored next I’m fine with Kaiser scoring last

2024.05.29 04:24 cusman78 Sushi Ben on PSVR2 - First Impressions

I have uploaded gameplay from my fresh experience with the game here if you want to see how it looks / plays. My first impressions are shared below:
Based on my time with it, it is easy to recommend playing Sushi Ben on the PSVR2, provided you are open to a visual novel game that is fully voiced with quality Japanese voice actors and no English audio dubbing available.
It is a VR narrative adventure game where you visit a small seaside town and take on the task of saving a local sushi restaurant from closure which also helps ward off real-estate land grab from the antagonists in the story. Although the focus of the game is the story where you do get to make some dialog choices and can get a game-over (16:54) and then have to repeat from last checkpoint, it also features a variety of mini-games including fishing, table tennis, ghost hunting, stone carving, bug catching, dog walking, archery and more.
Each of these mini-games are short-lived experiences to further the story, so none are built to the depth of stand-alone games and the game even has option to skip all of these and be a story-only-experience. Each mini-game I've played so far has been a good short break from the dialog with decent controls and immersion, so I don't see why anybody would skip these. You certainly shouldn't get this game if you intend to skip through the story sections to get to the mini-games because they are not the star of the game.
The game is using an anime-inspired art style and the character interactions utilize dynamic 3D manga panels that are expressive and entertaining. The game has simple graphics, but looks crisp and clear and running on very high stable framerate with no sign of any reprojection.
I love the soothing soulful atmospheric soundtrack and the story characters are voiced by a cast of seasoned Japanese voice actors (Chiaki Takahashi, Show Hayami, Hideyuki Tanaka, Mamiko Noto, Jouji Nakata) that bring the expressive animations to life with their fantastic voice acting.
The game is using subtle and varied haptics for all varieties of interactions but there will be some cases where it will feel missing or too weak. Overall, it is a good implementation that complements the immersion of the interactivity.
The tutorial of the game has you customize where and how the dialog text will be displayed. It lets you choose the relative position the dialog panels will be displayed, the depth of the panel, and size of the panel (which increases / decreases size of fonts as well). It is important that you get this right for you at this time as it is unclear to me how this can be changed later. Most instructions are given via visual communication panels and while some things may take you a bit to understand, I think it is all intuitive. The key thing is to position the dialog box position and size right for you, understand how your watch tells you where to go next, and how to use the inventory system once that opens up which is also where you will store the map (once you have it).
VR comfort options the game lets you customize includes providing both both snap (default) and smooth turns including turn speed. It also lets you use teleport only or mixed (default) including setting speed of smooth locomotion.
The game has a Platinum trophy and it looks like anybody that plays through and completes the game will end up with the Platinum.
This is a game most interested in being entertaining with its story and characters and it succeed in that for me because I think it had me smiling the whole time as well as laughing on occasion. Somebody else may be put off by the same, but for me it has an endearing quality, and it is a game I look forward to playing to completion.

2024.05.29 04:23 GrownUpGirlScout June 13th, I Can See You, Mean, and Taylor Starting a Fire in Liverpool? PART TWO-ICSY Video and Taylor's Selves Escaping and Setting Fire to her Past

June 13th, I Can See You, Mean, and Taylor Starting a Fire in Liverpool? PART TWO-ICSY Video and Taylor's Selves Escaping and Setting Fire to her Past
In part one, I discussed my theory that the music video for Mean featured characters who were representations of either Taylor herself or explorations of her personal experiences with being bullied by mean people.
With that in mind, I think the video for I Can See You is a continuation on that idea and theme, as well as a easter egg for a resolution to the story Taylor is telling.
In the I Can See You video, the first character we are able to fully see is Presley Cash. She has 3 stars drawn on her cheek, a direct connection to her character in the Mean music video, who was working as a "star" at a diner.

When Presley Cash came out on stage after the premier of the video, she was wearing an outfit featuring sequin stars.

Also of note? Presley Cash's birthday is June 13!!! This past December she posted on instagram a behind the scenes "photo" (its one still image, but it has a video transition sort of filter over it, and the song playing during it is ME!) from the video shoot on Taylor's birthday saying "it’s a “blondies born on the 13th kind of thing”. The hashtags on the photo include #mastermind, #gemini, #sagittarius, #June 13, #December 13, and #twinning. Sagittarius (the archer, Taylor's sign) is a fire sign while Gemini (the twins, Presley's sign) is an air sign. Fire needs air to burn...

Next, we are finally able to see a clear shot of Joey King as she is working on breaking into the vault.
https://preview.redd.it/f0h1xfswb83d1.png?width=1533&format=png&auto=webp&s=85e12e58dcf4a6f3c5cfab8ecb6e66a18a0b5627
She gets through the security lasers, makes it to the "Speak Now Museum" outside of the vault and is joined by Taylor Lautner, who jumps down from the ceiling.
https://preview.redd.it/3ro0j6kec83d1.png?width=1493&format=png&auto=webp&s=fc61fb6e2e59dfedcbec86c013d5f0b01bda261a
They walk through the "museum" while Taylor paces back and forth inside her vault. There are A LOT of pieces, all from the Speak Now era, but all from different contexts. There are set pieces from her Speak Now tour, there are clothes from tour, clothes from award shows, musical instruments, outfits from press and media and music videos.
King and Lautner are walking together through these artifacts and they come to the dress Joey King wears in the Mean music video. Inside the case with the dress, there is a photo of King with Swift as a child, and there's a moment where Lautner and King are acknowledging one another and acknowledging a connection to this moment from the past. In this shot, you can see that the 4 outfits prominently featured are all from the Mean music video-train track Taylor's dress, the dress she wore with her hair braided and her band, then the dress she wore when she finally performs for King at the end of the video. Buuuut, King's dress is pretty much the only outfit in the entire "museum" Taylor did not wear herself during this time period. She could have included it just as a nod to King being in the video, but then it's a little odd to me she didn't include any other costumes worn by other people in her music videos? I think it's a way of pointing out how the girl from the Mean video is a notable part of Taylor's personal history from this time.
https://preview.redd.it/hbmdv7d7e83d1.png?width=1502&format=png&auto=webp&s=73b5faf69fef103d9950b4b378a5cd99ba8e5087
There seems to be only one other outfit in the museum which was probably not worn by Taylor herself and the clearest view of it is off to the side of King's dress when we see the picture of her inside the dress display.
https://preview.redd.it/mxpz1ar1g83d1.png?width=2651&format=png&auto=webp&s=cedb448965fba077b9ee62ac7f3fb2189b31b335
I've seen some different ideas of what the outfit might be-some theories it may be the outfit the boy in the Back to December video is wearing and other theories about it being an outfit Taylor was photographed wearing during that era. But I wonder if it might actually be this outfit, the suit worn by the "bullied young boy" from the Mean music video.
https://preview.redd.it/pcltbyw2h83d1.png?width=2268&format=png&auto=webp&s=ca6707c1bd456e0860de903e6ea3483d7bcbefa1
It's VERY difficult to see clearly what that outfit is but to me it would make a lot of sense for it to be the suit the "bullied young boy" wears. One-because it would be a nod to an important character in that music video, who otherwise goes somewhat oddly unacknowledged in I Can See You. Two-It would, I think, establish more strongly the link between the "characters" from Mean being being versions of Taylor because they are the only pieces in the museum we see which Taylor did not wear (or use) herself. I think they're meant to be a stronger visual clue than just outfits which happened to be in her music video-because why would those be the ONLY other non-Taylor worn outfits featured? And why did she SPECIFICALLY want to draw us back to Mean at all in I Can See You? I did not see any outfits worn by Presley Cash in the museum, which I was surprised by because I kind of expected it. But, then I began to wonder if--the version of Taylor who is a "star" isn't stuck in this past, isn't stuck in the vault? That version of Taylor she portrayed in the Mean video-the girl whose peers try to come after her and dull her shine, who gets smarter, who goes to the city and works hard, she is already free-and that's why she is the one coordinating the escape? I dunno. But I think it was certainly an intentional choice.
So I mentioned in the last part that I find it notable and interesting that Taylor chose to cast Taylor Lautner in this video. While yes, the video is general-Speak Now-era heavy, she is still FOR SURE drawing our attention to Mean. Instead of speculating on why the original actor who played "bullied young boy" wasn't cast, I'm going to speculate on why Taylor Lautner WAS.
1-I think she wanted the roles of the original Mean "characters" and those versions of herself/that story to be featured and called back upon, and so she wanted the 4th character to be included and she wanted the 4th character to be male. I don't think that Lautner is supposed to be the "adult" version of the boy from the Mean video necessarily, but I think he's supposed to be a stand in for someone who represents a part of Taylor which was bullied and ridiculed for her relationships choices (both public and private) during that time, specifically. I also think it's a bit of a Theylor thing, making the intentional choice to cast a "part" of herself as a man-as a way of expressing herself while throwing people off the idea that she may be identifying with that particular part of the story is a very Taylor thing to do.
2-His name is Taylor and she REALLY likes to point out the "Taylor? Taylor? Taylor? Which one's the real Taylor!?" of it all, as illustrated in the meme she posted on Instagram when announcing the video. Swift, Lautner, and his wife (also named Taylor) recreated the classic Spider-Man meme where a bunch of spider men are pointing at one another, trying to figure out who is the real Spider Man. In the caption of the instagram post she writes "Tale of 3 Taylors". Hmmmmm. Which 3 Taylors is she telling the tale of? She cast someone who would specifically make the narrative of the video "Taylor rescues Taylor from vault where she is being held hostage."
https://preview.redd.it/hwxysw2pr83d1.png?width=1235&format=png&auto=webp&s=7a2b8eb544fe37ed321498c333ef864701641bcf
3-I think Taylor Lautner is a big honking arrow pointing at the PR-meta aspects of Taylor's past. I personally don't think Taylor Lautner was a beard, but I absolutely believe he was a PR relationship. I think casting him points people back towards this and maybe gets them thinking about WHY he of everyone she's "dated" is someone with whom there's never really been any hint of animosity. And if she got along with him so well and still seems to get along with him well, why does no one ever speculate she's still singing about him being the one who got away? Casting him in this and inviting him to the stage during tour and inviting his wife to tour and being friendly with them all seems to cement him VERY firmly in the Speak Now era, as well as pre-empting possible speculation, knowing her next release is going to invite a TON of speculation.
As the music video continues King and Lautner break into the Vault where Taylor is being held. Vault Taylor's behavior throughout the video is interesting as well. She is waiting, she is anticipating, she is preparing. She isn't trying to get out. She sits on a bench lounging and looking at the walls where there are hash marks either counting up or counting down the days. She carefully uncovers her music on the wall. She listens for her rescuers. When they finally arrive, she looks relieved and happy to see them, but she doesn't seem surprised necessarily. But also, she also very obviously KNOWS them and TRUSTS them immediately. Knows and trusts them enough to rescue her. Knows and trusts them enough to follow them into gunfire.
https://preview.redd.it/qzsetls9z93d1.png?width=1979&format=png&auto=webp&s=b25dcb13b60bbc4c3044bca3b0b7d5093a5b0e7a
I don't think it's completely outside the realm of possibility that it's meant to be seen as her knowing and trusting Taylor Lautner (her ex boyfriend-he is as far as it seems supposed to be playing "himself" in this video?) and Joey King. But then, who is King supposed to be? The actress who played a character in one of her music videos over ten years ago? Or that "character" now grown? Maybe she was and still is supposed to be a representation of Taylor's fans but...I dunno. It makes a lot more sense to me for it to be a moment of Taylor recognizing parts of her self or even metaphorical parts of her past, and that being the reason she trusts them. Taylor has made it VERY clear that she sees herself as always ending up alone in a battle and feeling as if she's the only one she can trust.
https://preview.redd.it/dxho8m9le93d1.png?width=2457&format=png&auto=webp&s=6ec5a821c19d264f54f48ef59f54826c20d29f3a
With Speak Now (TV) already in hand (again, as if she was ready to go, anticipating a rescue) the three run from the building while ducking bullets as the glass surrounding the artifacts of Speak Now shatter.
https://preview.redd.it/oltfwwc2g93d1.png?width=2712&format=png&auto=webp&s=5856aef1ee58c785dae66f79962326f74d8d3808
Presley Cash flips a switch that begins an explosion just as the three exit the building. I again think this is a subtle indication of Taylor's trust of the people involved in this heist, that she seems to know and accept that in order to escape she HAS to blow up some of the most deeply personal parts of her history. An indication that they are people she trusts COMPLETELY to get her and her music (the most important part of her past) out safely. Again, I think the only person Taylor truly trusts to pull this off is herself.
https://preview.redd.it/fc4w54l5j93d1.png?width=2415&format=png&auto=webp&s=61aefbd4e6c0af666562fe59c72ae8c2fc6d12c9
Taylor gives the building where she has been held captive one last look, and her companions yell for her to get into the van.
https://preview.redd.it/ncaymbk8j93d1.png?width=2835&format=png&auto=webp&s=4c67a819740179f55cca448f5af6d4503b4dab98
They drive away
https://preview.redd.it/gkjit9k0k93d1.png?width=2776&format=png&auto=webp&s=b607f90f58bd6de7118f3e6730edbe37bf1ea3b7
I believe ALL of this is connected to the upcoming 100th show on June 13 in Liverpool. I think I Can See You set up an entire premise that something is going to happen in Liverpool that is going to destroy the public image of her past. She and her music are going to escape, but all of these memories that WE recognize of HER also have to be lost in order for that to happen.
She just KEEPS using all of this burning, exploding, destructive imagery-but what has she burned down? As far as the public narrative goes, Taylor's plans to re-claim her music has not had to include a total and compete destruction of anything. It started off as a very risky move, but by the time this video was filmed I think it was clear Taylor's entire re-record project was going to be a huge success-she even uses the final shots to tease the next one, further indicating that she had a Plan with this video.
The Liverpool Film Office has a post talking about Taylor filming the video. It includes a list of locations which gives even more evidence that Taylor was very thoughtful about where she chose to film this video in particular.
  • Cunard Building -(connections to Zoe Kravitz and also a shameless plug to my own post about how I think Nancy Cunard and the modernist movement are big inspirations for TTPD)
  • Water Street-(this street is RIGHT in the middle of Canary Wharf. During Taylor's most recent beach outing with Travis she was wearing a Canary Striped swimsuit, there are also numerous other connections to bird in a cage imagery in Taylor's work, so it's interested she included Canary Wharf in a music video about escaping.)
  • Regent Road-(didn't necessarily find anything about this one?)
  • St George’s Hall-(this one I think is really funny and the thing that absolutely convinced me None of if Was Accidental-St. George is a saint who is known for slaying a dragon, lol. Here's the wiki page if you want to read more about the story. The building is currently displaying a rather large Taylor Swift sign in honor of her upcoming show)
  • Former Natwest Bank, Castle Street (also didn't really find anything for this one)
I don't think the slaying of the dragon or the blowing up of the past is going to necessarily entirely happen in Liverpool-but I think she's going to announce something. I think eventually, whatever she announces is going to be seen as the first step towards TRULY reclaiming herself and her music, as well as the moment she started the fire that's going to burn down her image as we knew it. In other words-is she about to take the first official step towards reclaiming her name and her reputation?
ANYWAY.
Thanks all for clowning around with me a bit on this. =)
Truly Taylor's burning, exploding, escaping, destroying imagery takes up a TON of space in my brain and it just keeps getting more and more intense and the countdown is getting closer and closer and yeah. I can't stop making connections!!!! And I'm very excited to see what the rest of this year brings!!!!!!

2024.05.29 04:13 findinginsight How can I manage my relationship with my potentially sociopathic sister and repair our now-broken family?

I’m feeling quite helpless and am hoping for some advice on how to navigate these family problems.
TL;DR: My sister Emily, who has a history of lying, claimed our stepmom Christie was accusing her of dropping out of college and other things, which led to a lot of family stress. Christie recently committed suicide, and it turns out she was right about Emily not being in school. Now, I’m worried about my dad’s emotional state, and my sister’s ongoing lies are making family life toxic. I can’t even stay in the same house as her because I fear for my safety.
___
For perspective, my immediate family overview:
My mom and dad divorced when my mom was pregnant with me. My dad left her for my two older brothers' babysitter. I grew up with her as my step mom. There was always some tension between my brothers and her growing up, while I was more of a neutral observer. To be honest, she wasn't the best person but I did come to love her in the end. My dad and stepmom, Christie had one child together, Emily. When I was in high school my older brother passed away in a car accident, which was needless to say devasting for my parents. My oldest brother struggle with extreme drug addiction after that, going to rehab twice. He's doing very well now, with two kids and a wife in Florida. I'm in Chicago with my partner; gay, came out in high school.
____
Emily’s always been the golden child, spinning tales that often cast her as the victim or star. Last year, she started telling me these intense stories about her mom / my stepmom Christie, who was truly going through a rough depressive patch mentally. Emily used this depression and painted her as delusional and abusive. Then, Christie tragically took her own life, a decision we believe was heavily influenced by the stress of Emily’s lies about attending college—lies that we only recently discovered were actually true.
At Christie’s funeral, Emily’s behavior was off. She looked like she was dressed for a TV show rather than a funeral, and her emotional breakdown during a speech she barely prepared for felt staged. It was like she enjoyed the drama.
Her past is a complex web of claimed abuses and sexual assaults, many of which have been proven untrue. She’s excellent at manipulating narratives and even now boasts about becoming a CEO from a supposed buy-out of her PR firm (really she's just a freelancer), dropping names like Pauly D and Blake Lively as if they’re everyday business contacts.
The lies escalated in the days following her mother’s death. She claimed she was graduating a year early, was getting her diploma overnighted, that she had been named valedictorian, and that she was supposed to speak at the graduation ceremony. After her diploma didn't show up after a few days and she had excuse after excuse, had us drive 45 minutes to a friend’s house to pick up her 'diploma', only to receive a last-minute call from a random girl claiming it wasn't there after all. Random lie anyway, because why would a friend have her new diploma!?
This pattern of deceit was further confirmed when my brother and I checked with the National Student Clearinghouse and found out she wasn’t enrolled since last year and has no diploma from her university, contrary to her claims. Rather than coming clean, Emily’s response was to weave even more complex lies.
On top of all this, she’s lying about big financial moves involving my dad’s friends, like apartments in NYC and buying new houses, which just isolates us more when we can’t follow up on these claims without risking embarrassment.
Our dad is devastated. He’s always been private and protective, and these events have hit him hard. He’s still defending Emily and seems in denial, despite everything. It feels like everything’s falling apart because of Emily’s fabrications. My brother and I aren't speaking with my sister right now, and not speaking to my dad much, after we gave them ultimatums that they ignored.
I suggested family therapy, but that got shut down. I’m at a loss. I want to help my dad and find some way to bridge the gap, but Emily’s presence makes it impossible to even think about staying at his house. I’m genuinely scared of what she might do next given her track record and intensity.
So, what should I do? Is there a way to get through to my dad or to arrange some kind of intervention for Emily without making things worse? How do I find someone who can help us navigate this incredibly tough situation? I'm also open to some questions and perspectives on her outrageous lies.
And before you ask, yes, I know about What Jennifer Did, let's not bring that up!
Thanks for letting me vent. I just want to find some way to bring honesty and peace back to our family.

2024.05.29 04:11 JLGoodwin1990 I honestly feel like I have less and less in common with people my age every day.

Or at least the majority of them. I've always felt more kinship and commonality with older generations (mainly the Silent Generation, but also the Baby Boomers and Gen X'ers as well), but when I read things about Millennials (the group I was born alongside) and the generation below them not using, being into or liking things such as top sheets on beds, golf, irons and ironing boards, motorcycles, brick and mortar stores, tennis, large houses and guest rooms, hotels and heck, even mayonnaise, it just strengthens that feeling even more.
I'm a writer, and I've even had people comment on my stories or narrations of them negatively before, asking things like "Was this written in the 1980s or something?", or "Does this guy know people don't talk like this anymore?"
It just makes me hope time travel will be invented within my lifetime that much more, to be honest.

2024.05.29 04:02 BGodInspired What Can We Learn from the Life and Ministry of John the Baptist?

https://bgodinspired.com/wp-content/uploads/2024/05/1716947579.png

The Unforgettable Role of John the Baptist in the Bible

Who was John the Baptist? Often mentioned in the Bible, his story is crucial but sometimes overshadowed. Let’s delve into his life and better understand his significance in the Christian faith.

John’s Miraculous Birth

John the Baptist’s story begins with a miracle. His parents, Zechariah and Elizabeth, were elderly and childless. Luke 1:13-15 states, “But the angel said to him: Do not be afraid, Zechariah; your prayer has been heard. Your wife Elizabeth will bear you a son, and you are to call him John.”
Imagine the joy and disbelief! Zechariah’s astonishment was so great that he doubted the angel and lost his speech until John’s birth. Reflect on this: Have you ever received a blessing so unexpected that it left you speechless?

The Forerunner of Christ

John was not just any preacher—he was divinely appointed to prepare the way for Jesus. Mark 1:2-3 recounts, “As it is written in Isaiah the prophet: I will send my messenger ahead of you, who will prepare your way—a voice of one calling in the wilderness, Prepare the way for the Lord, make straight paths for him.”
John’s ministry focused on repentance and baptizing those eager to turn from sin. He led a simple life, clothed in camel’s hair and eating locusts and wild honey, emphasizing his message of humility and repentance. Can you think of areas in your own life where simplicity might bring you closer to your faith?

Baptism of Jesus

John’s significance soared when he baptized Jesus in the Jordan River. Matthew 3:16-17 narrates, “As soon as Jesus was baptized, he went up out of the water. At that moment heaven was opened, and he saw the Spirit of God descending like a dove and alighting on him. And a voice from heaven said, This is my Son, whom I love; with him I am well pleased.”
This event marked Jesus’ public ministry’s beginning and God’s approval. Imagine witnessing such an extraordinary confirmation of faith. How would it have impacted you?

Imprisonment and Martyrdom

John’s boldness did not waver, even when it put him in danger. He openly criticized King Herod’s immoral marriage to Herodias, leading to his imprisonment. Ultimately, his forthrightness cost him his life, as described in Mark 6:17-29.
His bravery is a testament to standing firm in one’s beliefs. Are there situations where speaking the truth could come with personal risks? How can John’s example inspire you to act despite potential consequences?

2024.05.29 03:49 SnooHabits4803 What Order Did the Early Deaths Happen In?(Fnaf Lore Part 2)

This post would not have come to my mind had it not been for this video: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HJbYgqlH6H4
The important parts are essentially just a rehash of the main point of that video. I highly recommend watching it, it is very well made.
You will not see one main timeline post from this little series I have going here, as I think posts like that are filled with fluff and waste time. When reviewing timelines, people really only care about a few key issues, and I will only care to discuss those issues that are actually relevant. If you want a summary of the general series of events, there are millions ready to be read/watched.
Here is everything I plan to talk about in my little ramblings:
Death Order(This post)
Midnight Motorist
Book Canonicity
Golden Freddy(And by proxy, The One, Cassidy, and Andrew)
Crying Child
The Mimic
I feel this is the best order in which to tackle the main points of contention which currently plague the community, while also wasting the least time covering topics that mostly everyone already agrees upon.
Here is the order in which I believe the early deaths of the series happen:
Crying Child, Elizabeth, The Missing Children, Charlotte
When looking at this issue, I found that analyzing how the novels depict this early segment of the timeline provides a nice baseline. The novels are very specific about William's motivations when it comes to almost every death in the series. In fairness, I have not read them in a while, but as I recall his motivation for killing Charlotte is never properly said. Feel free to correct me if I'm wrong, though.
Novels' William's Story
Since many people completely misunderstand Afton's motives in these books, thanks in part to not having read them, I will quickly lay out William's story arc; the parts of his arc that are not relevant to this post will not be included.
After seeing Henry's newly created Robot Charlie, William becomes obsessed with recreating the spark that had resulted in Robot Charlie's creation. That spark of life that made her so real is what Afton wanted for the duration of the book trilogy. It is why he stole the final, adult Robot Charlie and crafted her into Circus Baby. But, after Elizabeth's death at the hands of Baby, William noticed her consciousness was preserved in the robot, and she was able to think as herself freely. This made William take a detour in his research, as he wanted to now recreate the "accident" of Baby's possession. This is why he killed the missing children, and stuffed their bodies into the animatronics.
This also connects to why Afton wants to become one of the animatronics; they represent his end goal. He wants his consciousness to be preserved in an immortal animatronic body, he's just too much of a pussy to do it himself. That's why he has Elizabeth slowly removing chunks of his body and inserting them into the amalgamation in The Fourth Closet.
With that quick summary out of the way, you can hopefully see why this provides such an important context for the death order in the games. Assuming Games' William has a similar story arc, we can actually confidently place many of the early deaths.

The Afton Deaths

I think I can confidently say Crying Child dies first. Since Robot Charlie isn't a game character, William would need that initial motivation into the spark of life, or some sort of similar concept. Crying Child fits that perfectly, as we know William was attempting to recreate his experiences with the nightmare chambers depicted in Sister Location and Dittophobia. Dittophobia further tells us that William was specifically analyzing fear, most likely as a result of his observations of Crying Child's intense fear leading up to his death. Assuming William is the Fredbear Plush, or is in some way connected to him on a symbolic level, he would've seen everything that had happened to the Crying Child leading up to his death and his promise to put him back together. We know that line in particular originates from William in the games, as Michael states that William asked him to do the same thing to Elizabeth at the end of Sister Location.
In the novels, William was attempting to recreate Charlie's spark, while in the games he was attempting to recreate the events leading to Crying Child's death in order to put him back together. I'll talk more about what that even means when I discuss the Crying Child, but for now it's just important to acknowedge that Crying Child's death is what caused the gas chambers and nightmare experiments to begin, which would coincide with the creation of the Funtime animatronics as there are no other experiments we know of that would require kidnapping kids. This follows the novels' series of events nicely, as Elizabeth's death to the Funtime animatronics would redirect William's studies into remnant and recreating possession, just like it did in the novels, and lead to the MCI.
This is, of course, all speculation, but it fits nicely with the fact that Circus Baby's existed at a time when springlock suits were still around, thanks to the suit on night 4 of that game. The timeline in general fits together very cleanly with this novel-based theory model, and you could even argue that the suit on night 4 is the one that caused the multiple simultaneous springlock failures.

Charlotte, and "a wound first inflicted on me"

The main criticism that I'm sure this order is going to get is the widely held belief that Charlotte was William's first victim. This is what happens in the novels, and Henry states that the wound William inflicted on the world was "first inflicted on [Henry]." I have thoughts about both of these pieces of evidence, as well as my own evidence suggesting Charlotte is the last death of the games. There's an extremely good chance you've heard all of this before, but I hope to present my case in as thorough and convincing a way as possible regardless.
The first point of Charlotte dying in the novels is easy enough to counter. This theory model already posits that Crying Child dying first ticks off all the narrative boxes that Charlotte dying first in the novels does. I think the theory so far should show that the story is actually closer to the novels' narrative if Crying Child dies first. You could argue that Charlotte dying before Crying Child doesn't affect this theory, and you'd be mostly right, but at that point her dying first would be pointless. There's no reason to assume she dies before Crying Child, so I'm not going to assume that she does without evidence(I know Midnight Motorist could be used as a point if certain theories are true, but Midnight Motorist is getting its own post).
The major piece of evidence that many fans point to which "proves" Charlotte is William's first victim is the aforementioned line from Henry's speech in the Insanity Ending. I will counter this evidence with evidence of my own, suggesting that Susie was actually William's first kill.
As I'm sure you know, in Ultimate Custom Night Withered Chica can sometimes say "I was the first, I have seen everything" when she kills you. Many people write this off as her just being the first MCI victim, but I don't buy that. Knowing that would be useless to fans' understanding of the narrative at that time. Knowing that she was William's first victim overall, however, is much more impactful to the story, and is frankly a much more meaningful and intuitive interpretation of that line. With Henry's line, it can be easily interpreted to be referencing between William and Henry personally rather than having to be an indirect wound on Henry caused from Charlotte's death. The alternative explanation for that line is much easier to get behind than the alternative explanation for Chica's line.
Additionally, Help Wanted 2 recently gave us another hint at a potential death order. In Princess Quest 4, lighting the 6 graves in the correct order leads to the Bonnie mask secret. Charlotte's grave is the last to be lit, and Susie's is the first to be lit. I don't think that it's a coincidence that Susie is the first once again.
That sums up my thoughts on the early death order. I'll get to work on verbalizing my thoughts on Midnight Motorist soon.
(Reddit was being fucky and irritating when writing this and stuff got deleted a lot, apologies if parts don't make sense as a result of that)

2024.05.29 03:37 RevolutionStill4284 Critically reading a pro-RTO article

https://www.usatoday.com/story/money/personalfinance/2024/05/27/less-high-paying-work-from-home-jobs/73838325007/

Analysis

TLDR
The article from USA Today (what about Tomorrow?) argues that high-paying remote and hybrid jobs have drastically decreased, suggesting a return-to-office trend. It uses scare tactics like highlighting a significant drop in $250,000 remote jobs, low percentages of remote work, relentless return-to-office mandates, and potential regulatory changes. Other tactics include framing remote work as a mere temporary pandemic solution, emphasizing managerial preferences for in-person supervision (without exceptions), and implying job insecurity for those resisting return-to-office mandates. Quoting influential CEOs like Jamie Dimon reinforces the narrative. The article appears biased, potentially driven by media sensationalism and sponsorship influences.

2024.05.29 03:35 DazzlingShiny130 Nancy (The Storyteller Spider)

SUMMARY

"The Storyteller Spider or is a major character from the web-novel Tales We Weave appearing directly and indirectly as the author and supreme creator of all creation and serving as a narrator above all concepts, meanings, entities, creation and the narrative itself, existing in the peak of the Mother Web. The myth of The Storyteller Spider started millenniums ago on earth more specifically on the African continent, with the first humans believing on a spider god that from time to time, descended from the divine realm to earth with the single purpose to share his stories with the people. The myth still being a myth however inspired a whole generation of humans to write about the entity and the fables of Nancy became famous around the world with each one of them having a meaning. With the time as generations passed, humanity slowly forgot about them and even though their stories were slowly getting forgotten in time, there would exist those who would never forget about the myth of the Storyteller Spider as well its fables"

APPEARANCE

"In chapter 4-5 the Storyteller Spider is described as an big white spider with a undefined size, it is believed that Nancy's true form cannot be understood by any mind and being forever a mystery even to editors. While other beings are not able to understand Nancy's true form, he is sometimes described as an giant eldritch white spider and sometimes appearing in a human form. The true aspect and form of The Storyteller Spider is believed to exist beyond the dark frontier and being forever a mystery to those below it"

PERSONALITY

"The Storyteller Spider shows to be a friendly entity rather than a controlling entity like editors, he sees creation more than a story but a happy and cheerful world full of different individuals with each one building their own story. According to Nancy every single being has a story to tell, be it about their daily lives or whatever action they take, there is always a story to tell wherever you look around. He also shows a lot of interest for external stories be it from his creation or even from other places. During chapter 4 of Tales We Weave, Nancy mentioned the SCP Foundation showing he was aware such verse existed and adding how he liked the writing and lore of the SCP writers from the wiki. The Storyteller Spider doesn't just seems to love narrating and weaving new stories but seems to also love reading external stories, according to him there is always something new a person can learn when reading a story, that's the fun of creation and the thing that gives colors and joy to existence, the endlessly stories the individual can learn and extract a lesson from it"

NARRATIVE LAYERS (WEBS)

1. The Collective Webs

"The Collective Webs is the place where all single stories meet with each other being a place weaved by editors, each web from the collective webs contains an infinite number of omniverses with each one having a different story, and representing an entire verse stacked inside, containing also an infinite number of dimensions, realms, planes of existence, mathematical concepts, and inferior narrative layers also stacked inside. The number of webs in the Collective Webs is endlessly"

1.2 The Primary Web

"The Primary Web exists above all the other webs in the Collective webs, being the biggest and most important web for embodying and encompassing every single web, containing half of the entire narrative stack, concepts of existence. The primary web represents the inferior layer of fiction where all concepts of existence are tied inside it, being part of it's many webs and stories. Due to it's nature it is impossible for fiction inside it to leave and escape to upper layers due to the "point of no return" which exists to block and confine fictional characters from escaping the primary web"

1.3 The Fourth Web

"Although it was not mentioned, It is highly implied that there are upper layers above the primary web before reaching the dark frontier as editors can also manipulate the primary web. Above the Primary Web there exists the Fourth Web which is the place editors resides in low sub layers, the fourth web is an fourth wall aspect dimension established above the narrative of the Primary Web, serving as an place that exists beyond the fictional world of the primary web. This plane of existence is considered the high layer of fiction in which transcends all the aspects established in the Primary Web"

1.4 The Mother Web

"The Mother Web is implied to be the last web of the narrative weaved by The Storyteller Spider, existing beyond the fourth wall, and containing the entire full narrative stack from infinite stories. The existence of editors and other meta beings are also tied to the mother web as they are part of it as a whole, the Mother Web is argued to contain the entire fiction inside it, everything that existed, exists and will exist in the narrative. The destruction of the Mother Web could possibly imply the annihilation of the entire stack of fiction, however the mother web is still below the dark frontier. Is through the Mother Web Nancy constructs and weaves different stories, manipulating everything within it such events and endlessly stacks of stories that happens on it. Being the Spider of the stories and the entity who wove the Mother Web, Nancy transcends the fictional boundaries of the mother web, existing in the peak of the sub layers of the mother web"

1.5 The Dark Frontier

"The Dark Frontier serves as a barrier that traps and seals the fourth web, due to its nature it is impossible for any meta or pataphysical being to cross it, representing also the edge of fiction and the true point of no return. The dark frontier is also extremely large, encompassing and evolving the entire fourth web like a spherical cloud of darkness. Due to its nature it is believed that Nancy exists above it, however as none ever managed to reach it, it is unknown what exists above it but it could possibly be the place the spider's true apect resides as a whole"

1.6 Skyline Universe

"Skyline Universe is a hypothetical place that exists above the dark frontier and being the place Nancy resides, is described as a world similar to real life but with only one single entity residing in it. Being a place that already transcended fiction itself for being above the dark frontier and the mother web. The Dark Frontier when looked from Skyline Universe, has the appearance of an small dark sphere, like if it was a decoration item placed inside a living room, having the mother web stacked inside it as well. Due to it's nature, it is impossible for beings who exists inside the mother web to cross the dark frontier and reach this place as the Skyline Universe exists completely outside of fiction. The Skyline Universe is implied to be the manifestation and projection of Nancy's true form and whole aspect including imagination, ideas and true self (being basically themselves as a whole)"

POWERS AND ABILITIES

"Nancy's true powers remains a mystery for most entities but they are highly believed to be above all concepts of existence and above creation itself, seeing the narrative and everything as fiction to him, thus granting him great power and influence to control what happens in the story. During chapter 4-5, Nancy reveals to Skinande existence itself is merely something he weaved to narrate, even the existence of meta entities such Skinande or editors are tied to the narratives of the spider. He was also responsible for the creation of the mother web as well everything inside it, something that contained the entire fictional stack created by him. Concepts such; destruction, chaos, destiny or light are conceptual ideas tied and confined inside the Primary Web in which he transcends due to him having woven the mother web and the existence of the entire fiction contained inside the mother web"
Powers and Abilities: Beyond-Dimensional Physiology (Exists beyond the fourth Web, transcending the fourth wall itself), Acausality (Type 5: Existed before editors, who created causality and the primary web), Plot Manipulation, Mathematics Manipulation, Space-Time Manipulation, Quantum Manipulation, Conceptual Manipulation, Omni-Lock, Omniarch, Complete Arsenal, Text Manipulation, Data Manipulation, Creation (created and weaved the entire Mother Web), Existence Erasure (can erase and wipe the mother web with everything inside it), Transduality (Type 3:, Existential Perfection, Omni-Negation, Absolute Invulnerability (can survive even if the mother web is destroyed), All types of immortality, Omnipresence (can exist everywhere at the same time in the narrative), Omniscience (Knows everything and contains all knowledge possibly), Transcendence (transcends all meanings, concepts, ideas, entities, deities, and the narrative itself)

QUOTES

"Time...It's not what you think it is, time is like a cage or cube that revolves everything and when you freed yourself and leave its boundaries you realize time is just a cage trapping third dimensional beings inside, you see how time is so small but big compared to those people" -Nancy to Skinande when explaining about conceptual meanings
"Everything is more fun and better when people shares their ideas and gathers them together with other's ideas thus making a lot of stories" - Nancy to Skinande
"Every work has an message the author desires to pass to the readers, the message I wanna pass here is that with a bit of creativity, effort, and imagination someone is already capable to create and build different types of stories, and that's exactly the message I try to pass on this web-novel, the "Tales we Weave" or stories we create together" - Nancy to the readers

TRIVIA

*In the African continent, Nancy was once mistaken with the god "Anansi", the spider god
*During Chapter four of Tales We Weave, The Storyteller mentions that they are nothing more but a manifestation of a entity named Beyond Light, something that exists beyond the Dark Frontier and the mother web itself, being just a manifestation of Beyond Light in the narrative
*Although It wasn't mentioned, Nancy's favorite story and narrative is the "Self Reference Engine", with himself being a "fan" of Nemo Ex Machina's work
*Among the many names he was given already, the names "God of Stories" and "The Storyteller Spider" were the most famous and used ones by himself
*It is not fully know why Nancy picks the form of a spider to manifest himself but it could possibly be related to how he weaves and create stories like an spider weaving its webs
*He seems to be aware of other verses as he mentioned SCP writers in chapter 4
*SCP-2747 was almost mentioned by Skinande before he got interrupted and cut by Nancy
*As mentioned above, Nancy shows an deep passion and interests for stories, quoting them as "the joy of creation" for him and being the thing that moves every writer to write, the passion for the narrative and the writer's creativity
*"Did you liked my own improvised fandom wiki, reader?"
