it's my first time posting here, so I hope you guys can help me out!
Me and my friend are huge Warhammer fans, both fantasy and 40k, though we lean a bit more towards 40k. It's just an epic universe and I have liked it for a long time. Lately, he and I have talked frequently about some of the tabletop models and looked at some online, because we both like them even though we don't collect them ourselves (I used to have a few models 20 years back as a kid).
My friend is a big fan of the Death Korps of Krieg and the whole fantasy surrounding them with the trench warfare and gritty look. We have talked about them quite a bit and with his birthday coming up in about a month I was thinking of getting him a set of these models. I think it would be funny to include some paint, brushes and so on, so he can paint them himself and maybe put them on a shelf in his pc room or something.
I don't expect this to ignite some kind of passion for collecting these models, but I am quite sure he would enjoy the process and hopefully be proud of the end result. Here is where I need your help! Both he and I are absolutely clueless when it comes to painting models and I don't expect that he will nail these models. However, I would like to provide him with everything he needs to get a decent result. I have looked at a few tutorials on youtube and these guys usually immediately start with airbrushes and so on, which I feel might be a bit overkill.
Can you guys help me out creating a list of stuff I should get him so he can get going on painting these models. Things like paint, brushes etc. Feel free to link Amazon, so I can see if it is available in my country. Also, if you know of a good tutorial to paint the death korp, I would love to have it. I would add it to his present so he has some sort of guideline on how to paint them. The models I am currently looking at are the "DEATH KORPS OF KRIEG INFANTRY SQUAD ADVANCING".

TL;DR: Gone are the glory days of eBay.
I’m currently in the market for a ThinkPad (looking to buy the X1 Carbon 7th Gen for media consumption mainly), but it’s extremely difficult to find a decent listing on eBay. I live in Germany, and 99% of all the listings on eBay are refurbished. It’s almost impossible to find a private seller.
I (and many others I know) have had nothing but bad experiences with refurbished devices. I actually gave it a shot and bought a T470 refurbished off eBay, and of course, the battery AND the SSD were broken.
I analyzed so many listings these last few days, and it seems that almost 90% of all the refurbished ThinkPads come with a foreign keyboard layout. I don’t mind a US layout; my keyboard for my desktop PC actually has a US layout as well. But most of them aren’t even US layouts. So where do they even get these ThinkPads from?
A lot of them are in really bad shape, which is funny because you can watch dozens of videos on YouTube of people driving over their ThinkPad with a car, spilling water on it, dropping it, and they still work. What happened to these laptops that they look so beaten?
If you actually check the sellers’ reviews and filter to only display negative reviews, you will see that almost all of the negative reviews are from people who bought a ThinkPad (even though they sell many other devices).
Most of them don’t have any description about the condition whatsoever. No info about battery capacity (which – believe it or not – is REALLY important for some people who buy a portable computer). No photos. They don’t even list what’s in the package, so you don’t even know if a charger is included.
I don’t even understand why someone would sell a fully functional device to a refurbished reseller instead of just selling it on eBay. On eBay, you get much more money, and if you price it slightly below average, you would still get more than what a refurbished shop would pay you, and you would probably sell it within a few hours (if not minutes). So my guess is: All of the refurbished devices are defective.
Why? Because it makes no sense if you think about it. A refurbished reseller has to pay the person they buy the device from, they have to pay employees, rent for their office, taxes, and eBay fees. The amount of work an employee has to put in to make sure the device is intact is immense.
Most, if not all, people who sell a laptop are going to factory reset it before selling it. So the employee has to scrutinize and clean the outside and open up the device for cleaning and making sure everything inside is there and intact. Then they have to install Windows, which takes a while, especially on older machines, to make sure that everything works smoothly. They have to check every port for functionality; they even have to charge the battery to 100% to see if it’s actually possible to fully charge it. Some faulty batteries just stop charging at a certain percentage, so to make sure the battery is fully intact, they’d have to actually fully charge it. Most resellers probably don’t even go as far as doing all these steps, but the worst part is that even doing all these things still isn’t sufficient.
My old desktop PC from a few years ago would run perfectly, no issues booting up the system, but after an hour of use, the PC would just crash, and a BSoD would appear. If I had sold that PC to a reseller, they would have to spend an hour using the PC to actually notice that something was off. Something similar happened to the T470 I bought recently: Even though the battery was broken and the notification that it’s broken and that I should replace it appeared almost instantly after installing Windows, it took 2 hours for the laptop to crash for the first time. Two hours later, I couldn’t even boot it anymore, and the SSD wasn’t showing up in either the BIOS or the Boot Menu.
I learned my lesson the hard way. Never buy refurbished (unless the company who made it offers refurbished products with warranty and good customer support.
It‘s sad what happened to eBay. It‘s floated with sketchy resellers. I‘ve bought so many used products off of eBay and never had a bad experience until I decided to ignore all the stories about defective „refurbished“ devices and bought one myself.

I also played PGR and Honkai Impact 3rd
but… is it just me or does the combat feels weird on mobile?
It’s nice on PC but on mobile a lot of things are hard to execute and weird in general…
Which is kind of funny since their main target audience are mobile gamers .-.
This isn’t a hate post! I love this game, mobile just feels WAY worse than PC😭

Killer Klowns from Outer Space The Game, much like the movie, is an acquired taste, and in very similar fashion, if you’re in the right mind and are among a group that knows what they are in for and are game, there’s a very good time to be had with it. The potential is there, same way as other games in the niche, for this to be a hit, and it’ll all fall to whether or not folks will buy into it. I for one will enjoy seeing how it all plays out as it hits retail.

Most disappointing is the lack of clown comedy. Their shoes squeak when they walk and there are some jokey lines of dialogue, but no hilarious kills. As a human, sometimes a funny cutscene will play when you die, but that doesn't translate to combat. There’s no clown cars or circus tricks, no killer klown spaceship to fight in. Just rural, small town American levels littered with guns and melee weapons. Without the film’s silliness, there’s little reason to play Killer Klowns from Outer Space: The Game over other popular asymmetric horror titles.

Killer Klowns From Outer Space: The Game is a detailed asymmetrical horror game that gives a lot of love to its cult classic source material. The weird and wacky nature of the film is a perfect fit for the genre, and the gameplay design gives purpose to just about everything you do. I had frustrations with the locomotion and match length, but it didn’t ruin what was overall an enjoyable multiplayer experience.

It’ll be interesting to see if it fares better under the enormous shadow of Dead by Daylight than Sumo Digital’s efforts, but it’s stepping out of the gate with some interesting concepts that reinvent the way the genre plays, making survivors more formidable and killers more tactical, encouraging teamwork and adding so much more depth to each match.

Many contenders have tried to take the asymmetrical crown from Dead by Daylight, and while Killer Klowns from Outer Space might not necessarily be better than DBD, it's a fun alternative that can stand on its own two (Klown) feet.

it just started happening a month ago, maybe not even that much, but it was right after when power in my street had some weird outages, mostly partial outages, where I noticed my air conditioner stopped working, the lights, but the pc kept on, then turned off/on a few times in a row until I got close to turn off it happened a few times, I also use a power surge that has like 8months old.
My pc isn't old either, its a rog strix b650a, 2x16 ddr5 6000mhz kingston, 7700 rizen and 7900xtx, powered with 850 xpg core reactor and it was working fine in everything
so everytime I have to reboot, it just turns off the tv and says no signal (which is normal when I reboot unlike a monitor where the screen just stays black, but it simply doesn't come back on, my keyboard with is a corsair rgb stuff doesnt turn the lights on too when it doesn't reboot, and the motherboard lights the yellow-orange led for dram fault, some of the times the computer actually reboots, the keyboard light turns right after it reboot even if I don't see the video yet I know it rebooted cause the rgb lights turning off then on
another weird problem is when I'm using some heavier ram it goes wild. I had Elden Ring open, steam/ea/riot launcher open normally as always, the usually 10 firefox tabs I always did, there been times I did with 50+ tabs in my older 16 ram pc without problems too, and then opened photoshop to do some image editing, and after opening the 3rd image the photoshop crashes, a few programs crashes with it like analyzer and other random stuff, explorer crashes too, screen goes black for a while then goes back to normal with all the taskbar messed which makes me restart explorer manually, I had like 2 or 3 random reboot/shutdown in the last 4 weeks too.
another important thing to mention is that my windows never allow me to go over 70% ram, it has the reserved memory for the system/cached and in use, the simple free to use memory doesn't let me use it, if it goes around 70-75% some stuff start crashing, also explorer, and the task manager goes in memory save mode, changing its appearance to a more compact mode giving a warning of not enough ram, so it feels like 25-30% of my free ram is unusable
Now, I did two test, I put a single memory stick in each one of the 4 slots and rebooted 3 times (didn't use the pc or opened programs or games though, just turned on, and rebooted after being in windows, and it worked normally, with both sticks separately in any slot, then right after it even rebooted normally with both together, the first time only, then it started to not reboot again
the other test I did was a 3-4 hour memtest86 when I was sleeping, funny I woke up and the screen was saying no video again cause it failed to reboot after test was done, so I had to shut down in the button and turn back on, turned on normally and quickly
memtest86 log file says 0 error count for every error tested, it ran for 4 hours
if I simply shut down the computer (clicking on shut down on windows or manually holding power button doesn't matter) and then simply power back on, it works normally
what should I do next? can the ram still be faulty? motherboard keeps lighting yellow led when it doesn't boot
please, help, some help, some light, help a grumpy old man who is too tired to keep working with pcs anymore, seriously, even to add a new hd last night took me 1 hour cause all my back pain and ocd!

I started playing Fortnite because my 8 year old asked me to play with him around the OG season.
The funny thing is when I was a teenager I played counter strike competitively (20 years ago?) so I’m better than other people my age. Sometimes I play with my friend who’s my age and our kids 10-12 years old and I carry all 3 of them.
There are some matches I go in where I am getting beamed from hundreds of feet away with an assault rifle with what seems like auto aim enabled. I assume these are clearly pc players.
At this point I can tell the difference between a bot, a shit player, a good player, and a pc player. The PC players have such a clear advantage it seems insane to me to include them in lobbies with console players.
Ultimately I’m just playing for fun but going up against this level of inbalance is the difference between me playing 1-2 matches and 3-4 matches due to it just being blah.
I guess this is more of a rant than anything but yeah.

Hey alll! I’m mainly looking to find new gaming friends that share the same gaming interests if possible. And also just someone to get to know! I have all consoles and pc and i play alot of games. Ranging from retro to new!
Current games i’m playing are WWE 2k24 and Fortnite too (zero build). But i’ll play most anything! I am an achievement hunter and usually like to try to 100% games if i can.
I’m married and have 2 kids, a 6 month old son and a 9 year old daughter. I’m into basic nerdy things. Gaming, star wars, super heroes, DnD, etc. Also trading card games like Disney Lorcana and Star Wars Unlimited.
I watch a ton of Critical Role stuff especially Campaign 3, so if you watch too, let me know! Also like to watch Up Up Down Down’s Battle of the Brands on YouTube.
I’m also into movies and tv, some sports, pro wrestling. Collecting action figures and retro games is one of hobbies as well. Anything 80s/90s nostalgia i absolutely love so if you want to talk childhood and growing up back then, i’m down! I miss the good old days where we went to arcades and italian sunday dinners at the grandparents and where the world just wasn’t as nutso as it is today lol.
My kids are everything to me and I do love talking about them. Love being silly with them and spending time with them (when they aren’t driving me crazy lol)..I would prefer you be around my age and have kids as well just so we have that stuff in common off the bat! I’m socially awkward most times but very easy to get along with. I’m definitely considered an introvert. But once you get to know me I break out of that awkward shell. I do like to use sarcasm, and mostly like to try and make people laugh because a world without laughter would just be horrible.

I consider my accounts secure. I also consider myself pretty schmart and paranoid to the degree that I don’t use public wifi or keep debit cards in my wallet app or upload sensitive data, etc. I have thumbprint, 2FA, etc. enabled everywhere. I figure, if someone wants to give me a hard time, I can make it as difficult as possible, because there’s always gonna be a vulnerability someone will exploit. I just don’t think I’m important enough for that to happen to.
On the 25th, I was going through passwords and updating them, like I always do, because just like lots of people, I’ve been getting code verification prompts that I haven’t submitted myself. I was trying to make sure I didn’t have anything backed up to the cloud.
I thought it was funny but strange one of apple’s pages used to learn about phishing said my browser (Safari) wasn’t compatible, but figured it must be something to do with enabling developer settings and I would look into it later. I still don’t know.
I sat down at my pc and got on icloud’s website. It was definitely their site. I checked.
When I clicked submit after entering my user and pswd, a pop up flashed for a split second and that’s the link I clicked on. I thought I prob have malware now, but none of my virus programs alerted to anything and I didn’t see any strange programs running. I knew there had to be something I just wasn’t finding it. I’ve also had really, reallllly slow wifi this past week but the only thing I saw was Visual Studio’s install file had been consuming a fuck ton of data.
I kept receiving password reset and code prompts. I’m like well if they can’t force their way past my easiest password, they won’t get past the new one…prob partially correct because they didn’t even need it.
My mouse was moving, I was getting alerts on ipad and iphone that a user was added to my account or something like that, but all I truly saw was the part that said verbatim “has access to your imessage and contacts.” I opened my analytics report and saw the microphone, location, camera, contacts, and photo app had been accessed by someone. I pick up my phone and the camera turns on and flips around to the front. I turned wifi and Bluetooth off but it didn’t help. I shut it all down and logged out of my phone and changed the password again.
I disabled everything for like three days and uninstalled any mirroring apps and connections between devices.
