But Vehicles, being an arguably inviable mechanic always caught my eyes. Got them all as soon as I could, and always dreamt of making a deck with cards like [[Nezumi Road Captain]] or [[Kitsune Ace]]. Then one day while looking at old cards, [[Cinder Wall]] opened my eyes. One easy way to enable vehicles is by having strong creatures that can not attack but can Crew a Vehicle. My mind instantly went to [[Rotten Reunion]], a card which has strong utility against GY setup and is fairly efficient for it's cost. (one 2/2 creature for 1 CMC, then another 2/2 creature for 2 CMC) Given that red is capable of dishing a lot of damage fast (which works well with strong vehicles attacking early for 3/6 damage each turn) and black is able to draw a lot of cards (neccessary for a deck that needs to play Vehicles AND creatures), the identity of the deck was born: an Aggro Rakdos (B/R) deck. Since the deck wanted to be aggressive, the idea was to keep ourselves on the low end of the vehicles mana-curve: motorcycle, trains and helicopters, no giant mechs. (sorry [[Thundersteel Colossus]]) These low cost Vehicles could also help get [[Galvanic Blast]] online, which is fantastic aggro card. But that also means that extra artifacts can help, which is where affinity comes into play: [[Frogmite]] works suprisingly well with low-curve Vehicles and artifact lands! Another free 2/2 that can crew our stuff. Sadly, the vehicles were going to be an easy picking for pretty much any removal spell in the format (including both creature AND artifact removal), so the next idea was to find uses for the vehicles before they got derailed. Protection is not Red's or Black's forte, and while cards like [[Undying Evil]] or [[Offer Immortality]] exist, none of them looked particularly great to me. Instead, we can accept the inevitability of card destruction and try to gain advantage with the bodies we have: [[Deadly Dispute]] for extra card draw, [[Annihilating Glare]] for removal and [[Fling]] for extra face damage. Let me tell you, few things are more satisfying than flinging a [[Renegade freighter]] that has already dealt piercing damage for extra 5 points of damage! Finally, thinking of taking advantage of all the self-sacrifices the deck was going to have, I wanted to include some "mind control" options to use my opponents creatures against them. Something akin to [[Bloody betrayal]], which also generates an artifact token. Also, the card [[The Shattered States Era]] looked particularly tempting to me. However, thanks to [this list over here] (thanks u/Lord_Rewex) I realised that [[Tenative Connection]] filled the role like a globe. The deck already runs [[nezumi Road Captain]], which gives us options with menace. Combined with the fact that the deck is hungry for artifacts, [[Goldhound]] is the perfect filler: cheap agro-oriented artifact with menace. May not sound like a lot, but that menace can give you 1 or 2 free hits, and force the opponent to make awkward defender choices. The list: Creatures (9): Frogmite x 4, Goldhound x 3, Cinder wall x 2 Vehicles (7): Renegade Freighter x 4, Flywheel Racer x 2, Sky Skiff x 1 Artifacts (4): Experimental Synthesizer x 3, Barbed Batterfist x 1 Sorcery (5): Tentative Connection x 2. Okiba Reckoner Raid//Nezumi Road Captain x 2. Annihilating Glare x 1 Instant (17): Lightning Bolt x 4, Galvanic Blast x 4, Rotten Reunion x 3. Deadly Dispute x 4. Fling x 2 Lands (18): Jagged Barrens x 4, Vault of Whispers x 4. Great Furnace x 4. Mountain x 4. Swamp x 2 Sidedeck: Flaring Pain x 2, Cast Down x 2, Breath Weapon x 2, Red Elemental Blast x 2, Gorilla Shaman x 1, Tentative Connection x 1, Reaping The Graves x 1, Relic of Progenitus x 1, Cast into the fire x 1, Makeshift Munitions x 1, Deface x 1 Conclusion: The deck is clearly not perfect, and there might be some things to fine tune: * Bridges? I think they might be too slow, and the ping for the crime-lines is not to be under-rated. 1 or 2 damage with this deck is usually game defining. * Not sure about [[Experimental Synth]]. The deck has a few 3 mana cost cards which completely back-fire when drawn. [[Ichor Wellspring]] might be a better solution. (maybe) * [[Kuldotha Rebirth]] MIGHT be a viable card. 3 tokens that can crew your vehicles or go face is not something to be scoffed at. * [[Arada Express]] is another train with menace and a crew cost the deck can easily fulfill with zombies, frogmites and even other cards. There is anti-synergy with [[Nezumi Road Captain]], but it might still be worth it. But all and all, I really liked it. No idea how this is going to fare in a post horizon-3 world, but I just hope I can keep polishing this idea further. |

Will it be pretty bad for my credit score if I open three new cards over the span of a month? Just opened two in May/June, but still in need for a catch-all 2%. Since I know I want a 2% card, would it be better to get one now, before these newest two are in my next report, making it my third in the span of a month (mid May-mid June), or better to wait? Is it really worth the damage to my score, average credit age ect, for the 2% back on my uncategorized expenses. More detailed information about my credit + cards below. I've just checked and was pre-approved for TD Double UP. Let me know if you think it would be more valuable to just wait to get a 2% catch all at a later date.

Planning to buy a new computer soon, ect. Also wanted a non-MasterCard, since everything else I have is MasterCard. After 2k in spending in 6 months I'll get a bonus $200.
I'm leaning towards not getting it, since I don't think it's worth it to tank my credit score needlessly for an extra 1% in rewards, and could potentially get a better new member offer in 6 months to a year from Citi DC or SoFi (which I checked an wasn't approved for via a soft inquiry, which would've been perfect since I'm leaving the US for a month soon and has no ftf, plus I'd be super willing to have moved all my banking to SoFi if I'd gotten the card). I'm skipping Wells Fargo since they didn't have any pre-existing AC offer for me and I find them scummy, but still have to do BILT thru them. But there's just that small part of me that's always wanted a 2% card.

I would like to go with Zoom however I understand that with the free version you get less than an hour's worth of time before you have to start the meeting over again. Does anyone know any other apps where you can get an uninterrupted hour and still have the ability to share your screen and sound?
So far all of my lessons have been in person or through my school's paid Zoom account which I obviously can't use for these personal clients.

Is it ok to ask for suggestions here? I’m no longer at a university and I’m finding myself with enough time to be reading papers on the side of my work again for the first time in many years. Looking to read on areas like political economy, macro econ, infrastructure and social economics, liveability, planing and environmental economics. Can anybody recommend nice periodicals (worldwide, not just the North American stuff, but sure, that too)? I don’t mind hard copy if they’re charging sane prices. Online fine and free is definitely great (I’m beginning to find the business models of traditional academia pretty questionable and out of date, alongside much of the old universities’ conservative genetics). But on the whole, I’m happy to read whatever’s hot and fun and new, so long as it’s backed up. I’m certainly not interested in reading the articles that get posted in Economics about interest rates and trade disputes and the news cycle as seen by the publishers of Forbes and the Economist - not my thing.

Hey there, as the title suggest, I want to finally move to Linux, but I have the feeling that it will be quite the hassle, and I would like to keep it looking like as much as Windows as possible. I'm currently using an LTSC version of Windows 10 but for a long time I wanted to jump-out of windows.

Goal of the distro:
- To find the most hassle free distro that keeps the same "interface/layout" as Windows as possible
- Focus on stability and consistency, no need to rush for the new features
- Compatibility with my hardward (potential upgrade in CPU (to a 5600X3D and/or GPU)
- That can provide the closest experience to a Windows OS as possible
- Small knowledge on Linux but not afraid to deal with CMD (but I highly prefer a GUI)
- I'd to have a distro that has some sort of help/faq questions, I don't want to be stuck 99% there and have an issue that would need advanced knowledge to fix
My main activities would be:
- Internet Browsing
- Documenting (I need MS Excel, not the Office365, no need for online connectivity, if can run "offline", great, also good options for PDF editing (that are not GIMP))
- Medium CAD/3D printing workload (If I can get Fusion 360/PrusaSlicer running, it would suffice for me)
- Heavy Photo Editing (Lightroom + PS) - for PS I can try PhotoGIMP but I'd like to have Lightroom working with as little hassle as possible, I also have a huge library that I'd like to migrate with as little problem as possible. I don't think Darktable would be manageable for me now, I tried it once)
- File management (easily setup and find my NAS and send files to it [drag and drop like in Windows])
- Occasional Gaming (mainly Overwatch 2 [On low settings, more focus on the latency], potentially GOG or Steam games, some old school games, but nothing drastic of cutting edge)
- Rarely, run some pretty old piece of software (engineering SW for calculations and such)
Current options, after complete the doing the questionnaire in Distro Chooser
- openSUSE (honestly, never heard of them, no experience)
- Kubuntu (Not a fan of the layout and had bad experience in the past)
- Zorin OS (looks promising and should provide a smooth transition)
- Mint (Looks like a "better" Zorin, with some extra functionality that I might want to fiddle around once I get used to the OS)

This brings me to services like Remote Ham Radio. For $20/month and $0.19/minute (and up), you can use someone else's radio. However, the costs can add up quickly.

Now, the issue: when we are physically in each others presence, I have zero concerns. We have fun, I feel respected and desired, there never seems to be an awkward silence. But when we’re apart, his communication has been severely lacking.
On a random Tuesday while I was working, they effectively trauma dumped on to me about some pretty terrible stuff they had gone through last year. While I had no real concerns at this point, it did make a couple of things fall into place about some of his behaviours. The next time we saw each other, this can up in conversation again, we discussed it thoroughly and it felt like it had deepened our connection.
Then out of nowhere, barely anything. Communication became very sporadic and it felt almost impossible to lock in a date for us to see each other again, even though when we did speak, he continued to hammer home how much he liked me and how much he wanted to date me. I finally plucked up the courage to call him to discuss this (I have a very traumatic romantic history). My aim of the conversation was to outline my feelings and discuss how this avoidant behaviour made me feel the exact opposite of what he was saying. Unfortunately, I didn’t get to express any of this as he disclosed feeling sue-i-side-al. I was obviously incredibly concerned, probably more than normal as I had been in this exact position a year ago and knew how serious this could get. I tried to comfort as best i could and put a safety plan in place. He was not receptive to this and for the coming days, communication was minimal, which made me very worried for them. Not just because we were dating, i would have felt the same regardaless of who had disclosed that to me.
About 10 days later, I received a message thanking me for persevering with checking in on him and for how kind I had been during our phone call. I tentatively started messaging more and he continued to be receptive. The communication improved a lot and he seemed to be taking steps to improve his mental health. Our communication over the last week has been 10/10 and we agreed to meet yesterday. He did keep making slightly sexual jokes but I ignored them as he had previously said that he has used sex to try and feel better, which didn’t make me feel good. So I ignored these comments as I wanted to address it in person.
I messaged him in the morning to check we were still meeting and he replied saying he was feeling very tired but would be heading to the gym and we’d see each other later in the day.
I didn’t hear from him again for the day, even after several messages from me. He had been online multiple times during the day. This left me feeling very low and like I was the problem.
I messaged this morning saying we needed to talk and asked when he was free. A few hours later, he replied and said he would ‘call me later’. When I asked for a time, no answer. Again, he is constantly online.
I want to talk to him about how his behaviour doesn’t match his words and how that is negatively impacted me. I want to explain that if he wants to continue seeing me, things need to drastically improve.
I feel like I have no idea how to verbalise all of this without losing my temper or seeming crazy. I do like this guy and am incredibly sympathetic to his mental state as I’ve been there myself but this is making feel like I’m losing my mind and I’m now questioning how honest he’s been in person and I find myself questioning how desirable I am.
Any help, opinions are suggestions are appreciated.

Worst case I figured I'd have a good commuter I wouldn't need to care too much about. In the three days it took the Wally World Express to reach my front door I started to have my doubts about my purchase, but a few YouTube videos and online reviews kept my mind at ease and open. I'll be real, a lot of the videos I watched were a little to kind to the bike in it's fresh out the box state. The saddle, peddles, and bar tape were, of course, junk. No big deal. The tires were teetering the line between half decent and junk. Very knobbly and squishy feeling on the road and not much grip in the dirt. A pair of gravel kings, cheap peddles, and nice thick cork bar tape and if feels like an entirely different bike. I'm at a little more than I wanted to spend but for a little more than $350 total this is one hell of a bike for the money. I've been exploring all of the less than paved parts of my city as well as the miles of trails that are a short ride from my house and this is the perfect bike for it. I've got about 50 miles on the bike in the two weeks I've had it and couldn't be happier. This post is longer than I intended, but I just wanted to share my experience with a fun cheap bike. The thing makes me feel like a kid again, hopping on a bike that could go anywhere and do anything. It's very freeing, especially coming from the world of fixed gear and skinny ass tires.
