2024.05.14 21:19 CoolBreak4051 My (F32) husband (M33) drunkenly went to a strip club and now I'm spiraling

My (F32) husband (M33) drunkenly went to a gentlemans club and I'm struggling to move on
Some context : My husband and I have been married for 12 years. We've got 2 young boys and I'm pregnant with our 3rd (DD 8/29). About 5 years ago we hit a massive rough patch ending with my husband having an emotional affair. I decided to stay with him and although it took a long time, we worked through it. Our marriage actually felt stronger than ever...
Well.... a few weeks ago my husband had to travel for work. On the last night he was there he decided to go out with one of the guys from the office he was helping.
Side note : the guy is a bit younger, single and kind of a F boy. But he's always been really nice to us
They started at dinner and then went for drinks. My husband doesn't really drink, but this specific night his buddy was feeding him shots and beer and even more shots. I ended up checking on him after a few hours of not hearing anything and saw he turned his location off. He wasn't answering his phone, which is totally not like him, and I started to panic thinking something happened. I called local police stations, hospitals, etc seeing if maybe there had been an accident or something. Finally around 2am his time, his location popped back on and I could see he was at a strip club... he then went back to his hotel, answered my call super drunk then passed out.
The next morning he called me asking if everything was okay because I had called so many times and that's when I told him about his location, the not answering, the strip club. He was honestly in disbelief, he couldn't even remember leaving the cocktail bar they went to right after dinner. He didn't believe that he had gone to a strip club until he checked his bank account and saw the $200 withdrawal. He's been trying to piece together the night basically ever since it happened.
What he eventually remembered : going to dinner, drinking at the cocktail bar, then a huge gap. He remembers walking and his buddy grabbing his arm saying "you're going the wrong way." Then another massive gap, he then remembers flashing blue lights (probably from the club) and sitting near his friend and some random couple. He remembers needing to puke and trying to get out of a chair, following orange lights to the bathroom where he did end up puking. Then he remembers some guy telling him he's been in the bathroom for too long and making him leave the club. The last he remembers is fighting with his friend, trying to walk back to the hotel and then being in a car and someone helping him to his room.
What his friend said happened : they were both drunk, friend dragged husband into the club. Friend plopped husband in a chair and he basically sat there slouched until they left.
Here's my dilemma... Im struggling to believe/accept any of it. I'm disgusted, pissed, sad, all the things AND my hormones are absolutely raging because I'm 6 months pregnant. Prior to this my husband had never been to a strip club before, never wanted to go. His mom was totally fucked and exposed him and his siblings to really screwed up stuff when they were super young. So he stayed far away from clubs, strip clubs, drinking, etc. I honestly, truly, believe that if my husband weren't trashed, he would not have gone. He currently hates himself enough for the both of us and it's making it really hard for me to be mad at him. BUT I'm also devastated... We've come so far, built so much together, I just don't understand why he would be so stupid. I'm one of those people who needs all the answers no matter how much pain it causes. I want to know what he thought he was doing when he turned his location off. Why didn't he just go home when he knew how trashed he was? Whyd he pull out money just to sit there drunk af? I want every single detail and he can't give it to me. So now I feel like I'm just making up the story line in my head and it's literally driving me insane. I feel stuck, like I can't move past this... I'm not really sure what I'm looking for by posting this. Maybe just to vent, or hope someone out there can help me move forward. Is it my hormones keeping me stuck? Is this even a normal reaction? Ugh I swear I'm loosing it....
TL;DR; : Husband drunkenly went to a strip club while I'm at home, 6 months pregnant, and now I can't figure out how to move forward.

Dachau 1945: The Souls of All Are Aflame

The Dachau concentration camp was opened in 1933 in a former gunpowder factory. The first prisoners interred there were political opponents of Adolf Hitler, who had become German chancellor that same year. During the twelve years of the camp's existence, over 200,000 prisoners were brought there. The majority of prisoners at Dachau were Christians, including Protestant, Roman Catholic, and Orthodox clergy and lay people.
Countless prisoners died at Dachau, and hundreds were forced to participate in the cruel medical experiments conducted by Dr. Sigmund Rascher. When prisoners arrived at the camp they were beaten, insulted, shorn of their hair, and had all their belongings taken from them. The SS guards could kill whenever they thought it was appropriate. Punishments included being hung on hooks for hours, high enough that heels did not touch the ground; being stretched on trestles; being whipped with soaked leather whips; and being placed in solitary confinement for days on end in rooms too small to lie down in.
The abuse of the prisoners reached its end in the spring of 1945. The events of that Holy Week were later recorded by one of the prisoners, Gleb Rahr. Rahr grew up in Latvia and fled with his family to Nazi Germany when the Russians invaded. He was arrested by the Gestapo because of his membership in an organization that opposed both fascism and communism. Originally imprisoned in Buchenwald, he was transported to Dachau near the end of the war.
In fact, Rahr was one of the survivors of the infamous “death trains,” as they were called by the American G.I.’s who discovered them. Thousands of prisoners from different camps had been sent to Dachau in open rail cars. The vast majority of them died horrific deaths from starvation, dehydration, exposure, sickness, and execution.
In a letter to his parents the day after the liberation, G.I. William Cowling wrote, “As we crossed the track and looked back into the cars the most horrible sight I have ever seen met my eyes. The cars were loaded with dead bodies. Most of them were naked and all of them skin and bones. Honest their legs and arms were only a couple of inches around and they had no buttocks at all. Many of the bodies had bullet holes in the back of their heads.”
Marcus Smith, one of the US Army personnel assigned to Dachau, also described the scene in his 1972 book, The Harrowing of Hell.
Refuse and excrement are spread over the cars and grounds. More of the dead lie near piles of clothing, shoes, and trash. Apparently some had crawled or fallen out of the cars when the doors were opened, and died on the grounds. One of our men counts the boxcars and says that there are thirty-nine. Later I hear that there were fifty, that the train had arrived at the camp during the evening of April 27, by which time all of the passengers were supposed to be dead so that the bodies could be disposed of in the camp crematorium. But this could not be done because there was no more coal to stoke the furnaces. Mutilated bodies of German soldiers are also on the ground, and occasionally we see an inmate scream at the body of his former tormentor and kick it. Retribution!
Gates of Dachau Concentration Camp
Rahr was one of the over 4,000 Russian prisoners at Dachau at the time of the liberation. The liberated prisoners also included over 1,200 Christian clergymen. After the war, Rahr immigrated to the United States, where he taught Russian History at the University of Maryland. He later worked for Radio Free Europe. His account of the events at Dachau in 1945 begins with his arrival at the camp:
April 27th: The last transport of prisoners arrives from Buchenwald. Of the 5,000 originally destined for Dachau, I was among the 1,300 who had survived the trip. Many were shot, some starved to death, while others died of typhus. . . .
April 28th: I and my fellow prisoners can hear the bombardment of Munich taking place some 30 km from our concentration camp. As the sound of artillery approaches ever nearer from the west and the north, orders are given proscribing prisoners from leaving their barracks under any circumstances. SS-soldiers patrol the camp on motorcycles as machine guns are directed at us from the watch-towers, which surround the camp.
April 29th: The booming sound of artillery has been joined by the staccato bursts of machine gun fire. Shells whistle over the camp from all directions. Suddenly white flags appear on the towers—a sign of hope that the SS would surrender rather than shoot all prisoners and fight to the last man. Then, at about 6:00 p.m., a strange sound can be detected emanating from somewhere near the camp gate which swiftly increases in volume. . . .
The sound came from the dawning recognition of freedom. Lt. Col. Walter Fellenz of the US Seventh Army described the greeting from his point of view:
Several hundred yards inside the main gate, we encountered the concentration enclosure, itself. There before us, behind an electrically charged, barbed wire fence, stood a mass of cheering, half-mad men, women and children, waving and shouting with happiness—their liberators had come! The noise was beyond comprehension! Every individual (over 32,000) who could utter a sound, was cheering. Our hearts wept as we saw the tears of happiness fall from their cheeks.
Rahr’s account continues:
Finally all 32,600 prisoners join in the cry as the first American soldiers appear just behind the wire fence of the camp. After a short while electric power is turned off, the gates open and the American G.I.’s make their entrance. As they stare wide-eyed at our lot, half-starved as we are and suffering from typhus and dysentery, they appear more like fifteen-year-old boys than battle-weary soldiers. . . .
An international committee of prisoners is formed to take over the administration of the camp. Food from SS stores is put at the disposal of the camp kitchen. A US military unit also contributes some provision, thereby providing me with my first opportunity to taste American corn. By order of an American officer radio-receivers are confiscated from prominent Nazis in the town of Dachau and distributed to the various national groups of prisoners. The news comes in: Hitler has committed suicide, the Russians have taken Berlin, and German troops have surrendered in the South and in the North. But the fighting still rages in Austria and Czechoslovakia. . . .
Naturally, I was ever cognizant of the fact that these momentous events were unfolding during Holy Week. But how could we mark it, other than through our silent, individual prayers? A fellow-prisoner and chief interpreter of the International Prisoner's Committee, Boris F., paid a visit to my typhus-infested barrack—“Block 27”—to inform me that efforts were underway in conjunction with the Yugoslav and Greek National Prisoner's Committees to arrange an Orthodox service for Easter day, May 6th.
There were Orthodox priests, deacons, and a group of monks from Mount Athos among the prisoners. But there were no vestments, no books whatsoever, no icons, no candles, no prosphoras, no wine. . . . Efforts to acquire all these items from the Russian church in Munich failed, as the Americans just could not locate anyone from that parish in the devastated city. Nevertheless, some of the problems could be solved. The approximately four hundred Catholic priests detained in Dachau had been allowed to remain together in one barrack and recite mass every morning before going to work. They offered us Orthodox the use of their prayer room in “Block 26,” which was just across the road from my own “block.”
The chapel was bare, save for a wooden table and a Czenstochowa icon of the Theotokos hanging on the wall above the table—an icon which had originated in Constantinople and was later brought to Belz in Galicia, where it was subsequently taken from the Orthodox by a Polish king. When the Russian Army drove Napoleon's troops from Czenstochowa, however, the abbot of the Czenstochowa Monastery gave a copy of the icon to czar Alexander I, who placed it in the Kazan Cathedral in Saint-Petersburg where it was venerated until the Bolshevik seizure of power. A creative solution to the problem of the vestments was also found. New linen towels were taken from the hospital of our former SS-guards. When sewn together lengthwise, two towels formed an epitrachilion and when sewn together at the ends they became an orarion. Red crosses, originally intended to be worn by the medical personnel of the SS guards, were put on the towel-vestments.
On Easter Sunday, May 6th (April 23rd according to the Church calendar)—which ominously fell that year on Saint George the Victory-Bearer's Day—Serbs, Greeks and Russians gathered at the Catholic priests’ barracks. Although Russians comprised about 40 percent of the Dachau inmates, only a few managed to attend the service. By that time “repatriation officers” of the special Smersh units had arrived in Dachau by American military planes, and begun the process of erecting new lines of barbed wire for the purpose of isolating Soviet citizens from the rest of the prisoners, which was the first step in preparing them for their eventual forced repatriation.
In the entire history of the Orthodox Church there has probably never been an Easter service like the one at Dachau in 1945. Greek and Serbian priests together with a Serbian deacon wore the make-shift “vestments” over their blue and gray-striped prisoner’s uniforms. Then they began to chant, changing from Greek to Slavonic, and then back again to Greek. The Easter Canon, the Easter Sticheras—everything was recited from memory. The Gospel—“In the beginning was the Word”—also from memory.
And finally, the Homily of Saint John Chrysostom—also from memory. A young Greek monk from the Holy Mountain stood up in front of us and recited it with such infectious enthusiasm that we shall never forget him as long as we live. Saint John Chrysostomos himself seemed to speak through him to us and to the rest of the world as well! Eighteen Orthodox priests and one deacon—most of whom were Serbs—participated in this unforgettable service. Like the sick man who had been lowered through the roof of a house and placed in front of the feet of Christ the Savior, the Greek Archimandrite Meletios was carried on a stretcher into the chapel, where he remained prostrate for the duration of the service.
Other prisoners at Dachau included the recently canonized Bishop Nikolai Velimirovich, who later became the first administrator of the Serbian Orthodox Church in the US and Canada; and the Very Reverend Archimandrite Dionysios, who after the war was made Metropolitan of Trikkis and Stagnon in Greece.
Fr. Dionysios had been arrested in 1942 for giving asylum to an English officer fleeing the Nazis. He was tortured for not revealing the names of others involved in aiding Allied soldiers and was then imprisoned for eighteen months in Thessalonica before being transferred to Dachau. During his two years at Dachau, he witnessed Nazi atrocities and suffered greatly himself. He recorded many harrowing experiences in his book Ieroi Palmoi. Among these were regular marches to the firing squad, where he would be spared at the last moment, ridiculed, and then returned to the destitution of the prisoners’ block.
After the liberation, Fr. Dionysios helped the Allies to relocate former Dachau inmates and to bring some normalcy to their disrupted lives. Before his death, Metropolitan Dionysios returned to Dachau from Greece and celebrated the first peacetime Orthodox Liturgy there. Writing in 1949, Fr. Dionysios remembered Pascha 1945 in these words:
In the open air, behind the shanty, the Orthodox gather together, Greeks and Serbs. In the center, both priests, the Serb and the Greek. They aren't wearing golden vestments. They don't even have cassocks. No tapers, no service books in their hands. But now they don't need external, material lights to hymn the joy. The souls of all are aflame, swimming in light.
Blessed is our God. My little paper-bound New Testament has come into its glory. We chant “Christ is Risen” many times, and its echo reverberates everywhere and sanctifies this place.
Hitler's Germany, the tragic symbol of the world without Christ, no longer exists. And the hymn of the life of faith was going up from all the souls; the life that proceeds buoyantly toward the Crucified One of the verdant hill of Stein.
On April 29, 1995—the fiftieth anniversary of the liberation of Dachau—the Russian Orthodox Memorial Chapel of Dachau was consecrated. Dedicated to the Resurrection of Christ, the chapel holds an icon depicting angels opening the gates of the concentration camp and Christ Himself leading the prisoners to freedom. The simple wooden block conical architecture of the chapel is representative of the traditional funeral chapels of the Russian North. The sections of the chapel were constructed by experienced craftsmen in the Vladimir region of Russia, and assembled in Dachau by veterans of the Western Group of Russian Forces just before their departure from Germany in 1994. The priests who participated in the 1945 Paschal Liturgy are commemorated at every service held in the chapel, along with all Orthodox Christians who lost their lives “at this place, or at another place of torture.”

2024.05.14 21:11 Known-Yogurtcloset-3 LO is semi-famous, making it harder to move on. Advice?

My LO is a semi-famous artist. I’ve had sex with him (the best I’ve ever had, by the way, after which he played piano for me…) How do I move on when his social media and online presence is so public? I’ve already went down a rabbit hole learning about his life from the bits of information I’ve been able to find, which is very easy to do. And as you can imagine, the whole thing is a bit of a fantasy. How do I move on? Can anyone relate? I’ve tried blocking his account but find myself relapsing and un-blocking over and over.

2024.05.14 21:10 ArkOfTheCube Evidence that nukes are a hoax

Evidence that nukes are a hoax
The following documentary explores the surprisingly abundant evidence that nuclear weapons are a hoax.
https://www.nytimes.com/1945/11/03/archives/seversky-limits-atom-bomb-power-likens-hiroshima-blow-to-one-by-200.html
This man actually analysed the city of Hiroshima after the act and testified the following:
"In Hiroshima I was prepared for radically different sights. But, to my surprise, Hiroshima looked exactly like all the other burned-out cities in Japan. There was a familiar pink blot, about two miles in diameter. It was dotted with charred trees and telephone poles. Only one of the cities twenty bridges was down. Hiroshima’s clusters of modern buildings in the downtown section stood upright.
It was obvious that the blast could not have been so powerful as we had been led to believe. It was extensive blast rather than intensive.
I had heard of buildings instantly consumed by unprecedented heat. Yet here I saw the buildings structurally intact, and what is more, topped by undamaged flag poles, lightning rods, painted railings, air raid precaution signs and other comparatively fragile objects.
At the T-bridge, the aiming point for the atomic bomb, I looked for the “bald spot” where everything presumably had been vaporized in the twinkling of an eye. It wasn’t there or anywhere else. I could find no traces of unusual phenomena.
What I did see was in substance a replica of Yokohama or Osaka, or the Tokyo suburbs – the familiar residue of an area of wood and brick houses razed by uncontrollable fire. Everywhere I saw the trunks of charred and leafless trees, burned and unburned chunks of wood. The fire had been intense enough to bend and twist steel girders and to melt glass until it ran like lava – just as in other Japanese cities.
The concrete buildings nearest to the centre of explosion, some only a few blocks from the heart of the atom blast, showed no structural damage. Even cornices, canopies and delicate exterior decorations were intact. Window glass was shattered, of course, but single-panel frames held firm; only window frames of two or more panels were bent and buckled. The blast impact therefore could not have been unusual."
Additionally:
https://www.nytimes.com/1990/08/01/us/hiroshima-study-finds-no-genetic-damage.html
This study was never published for some reason.
I’ve been to both Hiroshima and Nagasaki.
The whole thing is propaganda. There isn’t a trace of residual radiation anywhere in either city. I checked using a Geiger counter purchased after the “Fukushima” nuclear hoax, which at the time I thought was real.
The few bits of footage of the nukes exploding is laughable. It’s Hollywood effects, matte screens and identical mushroom clouds composited for different angles. Totally fake.
There is a reason these magical super weapons have never been used for an act of “terrorism” or in any war zone since and it has nothing to do with mutually assured destruction, unless you take that to mean the global unravelling of the lie itself.
It’s because nukes don’t exist, have never existed and cannot be made to work. They are a myth.
While looking for info on how "feasible" an all out thermonuclear war scenario was, because I already figured that nuclear weapons are a joke and a remnant way of thought from the Cold War era of thinking, I stumbled upon this massive article about the supposed Nuclear Weapons hoax.
Some highlights of it, after skimming through it last night include:
  • Nuclear weapons are a result of a collusion between USA/USSR (With Stalin keeping the East of Europe to remain a "threat" to the west) and Japan with many other countries joining later.
  • Explaining the impossibility of making an Atomic bomb work in the first place, and why it cannot possibly produce radiation that can cause harm to any biological matter, including humans.
  • The Hiroshima and Nagasaki "atomic bombs" were most likely faked: No nuclear bombs were detonated, Napalm carpet bombings were used instead, and nobody died from radiation. It also explains how could a lie like that be kept in Japan for 60+ years and shows plenty of photos from ground zero.
  • "(...)Nuclear radiation is harmless. It is just easy to detect by Geiger meters, etc, but cannot harm anything. Only uranium and plutonium metal dusts are poisonous."
  • Clearing misconceptions related to the Fukushima 2011 incident
  • Explaining why the B61 nuclear bombs are a fraud.
  • A timeline showcasing the USA-North Korea talks from 2017 and 2018 and explaining why they were only done to put on a show, because, it is very likely that North Korea, does not have any in the first place.
And many other stuff.
Here it is, divided in 9 parts.
The people and organizations creating the lies: https://heiwaco.com/bomb.htm
The atomic bomb killed nobody in Japan: https://heiwaco.com/bombpart2.htm
How does an atomic bomb work? It doesn't! https://heiwaco.com/bombpart3.htm
Plenty O' manipulations: https://heiwaco.com/bombpart4.htm
Explosive fission is a scam: https://heiwaco.com/bombpart5.htm
All about real fission: https://heiwaco.com/bombpart6.htm
The fake B-61 atomic bombs: https://heiwaco.com/bombpart7.htm
All about no radiation at Fukushima: https://heiwaco.com/bombpart8.htm
About radiation itself: https://heiwaco.com/bombpart9.htm
The destruction of Hiroshima and Nagasaki appear not to be the result of one large explosion, but rather the result of a fire-bombing campaign comparable in pictures to Tokyo's fire-bombed remains. Hiroshima and Nagasaki also never experienced anything like the hundreds or thousands of years of radiation predicted by nuclear scientists, in fact, vegetation began growing within a month after the bombing, and the Japanese people began rebuilding almost immediately!
Some nuclear physicists even claim nuclear weaponry fraudulent based solely on the technical impossibilities of fission material not to be incinerated before triggering the necessary nuclear chain reaction.
Tesla even famously tried to split the atom him self and came to the conclusion it didn't release energy:
"Let me say that has nothing to do with releasing so-called atomic energy. There is no such energy in the sense usually meant. With my currents, using pressures as high as 15,000,000 volts, the highest ever used, I have split atoms — but no energy was released. I confess that before I made this experiment I was in some fear. I said to my assistants, ‘I do not know what will happen. If the conclusions of certain scientists are right, the release of energy from the splitting of an atom may mean an explosion which would wreck our apparatus and perhaps kill someone. Is that understood?’
My assistants urged me to perform the experiment and I did so. I shattered atoms again and again. But no appreciable energy was released."
This was from an interview he did with time magazine back in 1931 so it made me wonder if these anti nuke guys were on to something. The government has a lot of reasons to create a weapon of mass destruction psyop it spreads fear porn thats one thing and convinces people they can cause nuclear armageddon at the flick of a button. Einstein as some people know tried to steal Tesla's spotlight putting him into obscurity but his technology and experiments were very peculiar and show us there's a lot of high strangeness about this reality that's still not well understood.
Also In 1986, Galen Winsor a Nuclear physicist Exposed the Nuclear fear scam by licking a pile of highly radioactive uranium off the palm of his hand and ignite a chunk of plutonium into a shower of flaming dust to show how safe these materials were. The guy also drank reactor cooling pool water for fun and liked to go swimming in the pool to relax.

2024.05.14 21:09 dizedd 7 low ball offers all at once from the same buyer

I am very new to reselling, and usually when people talk about blocking low ballers, I feel like they are over-reacting-but today I understand the urge! This lady offered a price 40% -50% off all of these items separately, and they are all sought after rare items. I know they're sought after because it's an area I'm kind of an expert in-and I have sold 15 other similar items at asking price in the last 2 weeks. Also- my prices are very reasonable already. Many of them are a significant amount lower than sold comps, because some of the sold comps are insane in my mind. I didn't block her, I sent her a nice message on one of the offers, countered another with a reasonable price, then simply declined the rest-but ooooh it was hard not to block her! I checked her profile and she's just a buyer and she has lots of positive feedback , so apparently other people selling OOP fabric are ok with being low balled.

2024.05.14 21:06 sunnylane28 Should I tell my cousin I caught her in a lie?

My Cousin(38F) and I(34F) have been very close all our lives, like sisters. She visited me this past weekend and it was great to get together as we haven't really had much one on one time since pre pandemic. After I left I found out that she had been telling me a big lie about this romantic story that she went on and on about the whole weekend. I literally feel like I'm in a twilight zone and I don't know whether I should mention it to her or not. I want to be helpful to her and not make her feel embarrassed or isolated.
Some backstory: She's always been a big drinker. Our past visits have usually had at least one night where shit kind of hits the fan and she's super wasted and just acting like an alcoholic. This trip she didn't drink at all which was great because I was prepared for a shit show. She's also always been a bit of a liar- nothing crazy big, but just lies to avoid confrontation, make situations seem different than they are, lies of omission, etc. I feel like the lying is something that goes along with the addiction and also a somewhat traumatic upbringing (some physical/emotional abuse from her parents). This visit was really nice because it's the first time she's visited me and my daughter and it was nice to have time to show her that she is an important part of my daughter's life and that just because she's not married/with kids doesn't mean that she's not special. I don't want a confrontation about the lie to ruin the nice weekend.
So essentially the first day of the visit she tells me she barely slept because she had just professed her love for her coworker and was up thinking about it. She tells me the whole story- they've been flirting for 10 months, they take all their breaks together, they text and there's lots of sexual innuendos, etc. She walks to and from work and he's offered her a ride home a few times. So he gives her a ride home the day before she visits me and she says she finally decided to go for it and tell him how she feels. She told him she wanted to kiss him, they have a long hug, there's an awkward pause, etc but no kiss. So the whole weekend she's asking me, "I know he has feelings for me but he'll never make the first move- should I just go for it and kiss him?" etc etc etc. So we're dissecting the whole situation throughout the weekend, she's making little funny remarks about her and "Bob" dating, etc. I told her my stance was like, "well you already laid it all on the line and told him how you feel, I think the ball is in his court and if he can't get some courage to make a move then forget about it because he's not worth it." And she's basically just like, "I'm gonna go for it!" Dropping her off at the airport she even joked that she'll be pregnant with "Bob's" baby in 6 months. WELL after she leaves I'm curious to find more info on him just to see like what his deal is. I search the people she follows on IG and found his account. HE'S MARRIED WITH AN 8 MONTH OLD BABY. And she has liked MANY of his photos of him and his kid, he's wearing a ring in all his photos, his wife is all over his page, etc. There is no guessing or doubting here. I had also asked her straight up if she knew whether he was single or not (because why would he not make a move after all this time and tension) and she said yes, he's single.
A few things I'm considering... it makes me sad that she feels that this is all she is worth. I want to tell her that she deserves better than being the "other woman" and I also want her to know that she'll never find what she wants if she can't be honest with herself. It is a completely different situation if she came to me and said, "I have a crush on my coworker, we have a great connection, but he's married and I don't know how to handle it." Then we'd start talking about boundaries, how she deserves more than a scumbag who's clearing crossing some lines, we could maybe get into why she's attracted to someone off limits (self sabotage, self worth, whatever). This is not her first time that she's been hooking up with a guy in a relationship. It also makes me feel fucking weird to be lied to like that. (I don't take the lying personally, but like I said it's a twilight zone feeling.) Like why bring it up at all? Dude just go about your day being a home wrecker but keep it to yourself and I would never know. I feel like lying about it is her way of trying to hear the answer she wants to validate her choice to do something she knows is wrong. It's all so fucked up on her end let alone the dude who is sexting someone else while his wife goes through her postpartum time. Gross.
*I also should mention that during this trip she told me that for the past 2 years she's had some 1-2 week stints of pretty intense depression where she doesn't know her purpose, doesn't know the point of life, she's not suicidal but she's super depressed. I asked if she's gone to therapy for it (which we've talked about many times before) and she said, "No, but I don't think it will happen again." She's also said many times over the years that she's blocked out most of her childhood. Like, there's some deep issues here and it breaks my heart because she is a wonderful person.
I want to say something, but I don't want to negate the good weekend we had. I also am fully aware that there is a 99% chance that what I say won't make a difference, won't magically get her to go to therapy, won't fix her problems, etc. There have been many times in the past that I've wanted to say something (usually about her drinking) but I haven't because of those reasons. Of course no one can predict her reaction, but is there any safe way to bring any of this up without making her mental health worse? I kind of want to say something like, "It makes me sad that you felt the need to lie about Bob's situation that he's married with a baby. I want to support you but it's hard for me to do that when I don't know the truth of what's going on. You are a wonderful person and you deserve more than what you're giving yourself. I want to be there for you through this, but based on what you said about having some intense depressive episodes the past couple years will you consider reaching out to a therapist?" OR maybe I just text her like, "I don't think you should pursue Bob considering he's married with a baby. He's crossed some lines but you deserve better than to be the other woman. It's not too late to do the right thing." She has such low self worth that I fear that calling out the lie will bring her down even more. There's also a part of me that's just never spoken up about stuff and I worry about being too passive/an enabler. Like I want to feel good about the choice I make either way.

2024.05.14 21:05 EJC28 Bills 2024 Draft Analysis Compilation

Round 2, Pick 33 - Keon Coleman, WR, Florida State:
NFL: After trading back twice on Thursday, the Bills stick at 33 and take a big, physical and athletically gifted target. Coleman isn't fast and isn't a deep threat, but he can win in a variety of ways. But who will Josh Allen's deep threat be? Stay tuned.
CBS Sports: C-. “X” receiver for a WR-needy team. Plays faster than his combine speed but doesn’t separate consistently and isn’t as good of a contested-catch wideout as his size and highlight-reel would indicate. Young though.
ESPN: After trading back twice, the Bills addressed the team's most significant position of need with Coleman, a big outside receiver with the ability to make splash plays -- 12 receiving touchdowns on contested catches since the start of 2022, second-most in the FBS, however, only a 31.7% contested catch percentage in 2023 -- to create separation and a release that general manager Brandon Beane described as "about as good as any." Beane acknowledged that while he's "probably not" going to run away from defenders, Buffalo feels his play speed is faster than the speed he showed at the combine -- 4.61 40-yard dash -- also noting that they liked his athletic ability that came from playing basketball. The Bills needed starting-level talent at outside receiver and Coleman, who turns 21 in May, fits into what Buffalo was looking for, while the team was still able to move back and add picks.
NFL Absolutely Not Fake News: Believes that knitting is the original “Netflix and chill”.
Round 2, Pick 60 - Cole Bishop, S, Utah:
NFL: Safety was a big need for the Bills, and they go back to the Utes for help after taking Dalton Kincaid in Round 1 a year ago. Bishop is a very good athlete and field general who can play the post safety spot and cover a lot of ground. He played like the QB of the Utes' defense the past two years and could be a rookie starter for Buffalo.
CBS Sports: A-. Large, intimidating safety with magnificent movement skill. The QB of the defense. Aligns everywhere. Can wear many hats. Excelled as slot defender and vs. TEs in coverage and runs the alley on outside runs as well as any safety in the class. Ball skills and tackling must improve. Short arms. Need filled.
ESPN: Another pick for the Bills in the second round, another big need addressed. Drafting Bishop adds someone who can compete for a starting role this season, in addition to being a potential answer in the secondary after moving on from Jordan Poyer this offseason while Micah Hyde continues to contemplate retirement. Bishop has the ability to move all over the field, along with speed -- 4.45 40-yard dash -- and many of the qualities and instincts the Bills look for at the position.
NFL Absolutely Not Fake News: He always weebles and wobbles, but he won’t ever fall down.
Round 3, Pick 95 - DeWayne Carter, DT, Duke:
NFL: When I first watched Carter at the Senior Bowl, I wrote in my notes: "rolling ball of knives." Carter's game doesn't have a lot of pretty to it, but he's a scheme disruptor with his low center of gravity, ferocious style and nasty demeanor.
CBS Sports: B+. Active, high-energy interior rusher who’s on the ground a bit more than what’s desired because of his frenetic style. But it also gets him to the football more often than most DTs. Flashes of swim move and spin just needs to utilize them more. Length is a plus and he works hard vs. run. Some power too. Fills niche need on Buffalo’s defensive front. Needs to use his length better on passing downs.
ESPN: Using the pick acquired via the trade with the Kansas City Chiefs on Thursday, the Bills addressed another hole with Carter bringing depth at defensive tackle. The three-technique tackle will have the opportunity to continue to develop -- potentially as Ed Oliver's backup -- adding to a defensive tackle room that has limited young talent. The Bills didn't draft a defensive tackle last year due to the way the board fell, but the team was able to add to the rotation early this year.
NFL Absolutely Not Fake News: Still says ‘weeeeeeeeeee’ when on a playground swing.
Round 4, Pick 128 - Ray Davis, RB, Kentucky:
NFL: Davis has overcome a lot to reach this level, and though he lacks long speed, he can be a Zack Moss-like player for the Bills. Davis' vision and wicked spin move have left a few defenders in a blender.
CBS Sports: C. Compact, older RB with plus stop-start ability, married to his feet well. Can deploy multiple cuts in a run to make defenders miss. Good, not amazing overall elusiveness though. Quicker than fast too. Will work hard to fight through contact. Has the skills to be fine complementary RB in NFL.
ESPN: With Davis, the Bills add a needed bigger back -- 5-foot-8, 211-pounds -- to pair with James Cook, but also someone who has the ability to catch the football (seven touchdown catches in 2023, tied with Najee Harris for the most by any SEC running back in a season in the last 25 years). Buffalo had a variety of veterans complimenting Cook last season, but Davis, 24, will give Buffalo a power runner and another younger presence in the room, albeit with plenty of collegiate experience from two seasons at Temple, two at Vanderbilt and one at Kentucky.
NFL Absolutely Not Fake News: This divorce is taking forever Erica why are you doing this?
Round 5, Pick 141 - Sedrick Van Pran-Granger, C, Georgia:
NFL: He's a tough, durable competitor with good anchor strength and three years starting experience for an SEC power, although SVP's lack of athleticism and smaller frame might make him a center-only projection.
CBS Sports: A-. Multi-year starter in the SEC with wrestler’s mentality. Battles through the whistle every snap. Mobility stands out. Explosive short-area quicks. Doesn’t have supreme length and clearly has to add weight/strength to his game. Methodically carries out run-game duties with ease. Second-level climbs etc. Older prospect but comes with high floor.
ESPN: This offseason, the Bills moved on from the team's starting center, Mitch Morse, and backup Ryan Bates. Last year's left guard Connor McGovern is set to slide over to the starting role. Adding Van Pran-Granger brings depth at center -- he allowed one sack his entire career in 1,337 pass-blocking plays, according to Sports Info Solutions -- and a strong candidate for the future at the position with significant starting experience (he started the last three seasons at center for Georgia).
NFL Absolutely Not Fake News: Is constantly telling people how different things are on Linux.
Round 5, Pick 160 - Edefuan Ulofoshio, LB, Washington:
NFL: In recent years, Buffalo has taken some interesting shots on linebackers in Rounds 3-7, and Ulofoshio continues that trend. He was one of the final players in my top 100 prospect list with his excellent speed, intense style and special teams experience, even if injuries have clouded his projection.
CBS Sports: A-. Six-year LB who starred for a long time as a full-time player in Washington’s program. Big-time tester and it shows on the field. Just takes a second to diagnose. Keen block-avoider as he’s sifting through traffic. Smooth athlete all around but doesn’t quite play to his workout. Reliable tackler who also flashed coverage skill down the seam. High-floor pick here. Crowded LB room.
ESPN: The Bills lost major special teams contributors this offseason, including linebacker Tyrel Dodson and defensive back Siran Neal, while captain linebacker Tyler Matakevich remains a free agent. Ulofoshio adds depth to the linebacker room, but perhaps more importantly, he can find a role on this roster as someone who can make an impact on special teams, an area of priority for the Bills. He has experience from playing six years at Washington, and while he dealt with multiple significant injuries in 2021 and 2022, he played every game in 2023 and earned Washington's Guy Flaherty Most Inspirational Award, the program's oldest and most prestigious honor.
NFL Absolutely Not Fake News: DROP TABLE card_facts; [please crash your pc, reader].
Round 5, Pick 168 - Javon Solomon, DE, Troy:
NFL: Solomon was a highly productive rusher the past few years in an unusual frame. He's short and undersized at 6-foot-1 and 247 pounds but with nearly 34-inch arms and huge hands. That extra length helps Solomon get to the quarterback, along with his quick burst and non-stop motor. An interesting study for sure.
CBS Sports: A. Burst, bend, speed predicated outside EDGE. Small frame but serious length. Unique build. Doesn’t get engulfed by bigger blockers as much as expected because of his speed-to-power conversion. Hand work is good, not amazing and can flatten to the QB. Motor hums on every play. Bills needed this type of quick winner on the outside.
ESPN: Solomon provides depth at edge rusher, another position of need for Buffalo. He led the FBS with 16 sacks last season and totaled 31.5 sacks since the start of 2021 (also most in the FBS), in addition to 49 career tackles for loss (third in Sun Belt history). Being a Day 3 selection, finding a special teams role will be important for Solomon. He'll also have the opportunity to develop behind the likes of Greg Rousseau, Von Miller -- someone that Solomon has modeled his game after -- and AJ Epenesa.
NFL Absolutely Not Fake News: He once painted the walls of a Buccees stall, hasn’t been back since.
Round 6, Pick 204 - Tylan Grable, OT, UCF:
NFL: He's a converted Jacksonville State tight end who became a solid left tackle the past two years at UCF. Grable is a quality athlete with great length and potential to be groomed at center, even if he's still learning how to play O-line.
CBS Sports: B. Height and length type at OT who probably plays guard at the next level. Smooth athleticism and can sustain speed throughout the play. Not just quick. Hands are more active and heavy than they are accurate. Good depth add here with positional versatility. Can grow into his frame.
ESPN: Grable started his collegiate career as a walk-on tight end at Jacksonville State, but transitioned to offensive line starting in 2019 and then started 27 games at left tackle while at UCF. He will compete for a roster spot in an offensive line room with veteran players, and said he's prepared to make a switch to a different position if needed. General manager Brandon Beane said that Grable is "gonna have to continue to work on his lower body strength, his power to move guys in the run game, but has great feet you know for pass pro."
NFL Absolutely Not Fake News: Still refers to Google DUO as Google MEET.
Round 6, Pick 219 - Daequan Hardy, CB, Penn State:
NFL: His return skills might be what keeps him in the league, as Hardy lacks the mass and strength to hold up full time on defense, but sub-4.4 speed is always appealing in a DB.
CBS Sports: A-. Case for most sudden, twitch-up athlete at CB in the class. Super speedy too. Plus recovery talent. Explosiveness in every movement. Not always sticky in coverage but does have high-caliber reps. Check Ohio State game. Erratic tackling and hard to get off blockers because of his size. Chippy in trying to make plays on screens.
ESPN: Hardy brings depth at the cornerback position and skills as a returner. In 2023, he tied the Penn State record for most punt return touchdowns in a season (two) and finished seventh in punt return average (14.6) in school history. Beane noted that if not for the new return rules, he's not sure if they would have picked Hardy, but "this guy can play one of the backup corner spots, but also he's a really nice returner." Buffalo lost multiple players at the returner spot in free agency, and with more focus on it going into this season, Hardy will have the opportunity to compete for the role.
NFL Absolutely Not Fake News: Owns the complete N64 collection including a CIB Conkers.
Round 7, Pick 221 - Travis Clayton, OT, England:
NFL: The Brit, who is 6-foot-7 and 301 pounds with 35-inch arms, ran a 4.81-second 40-yard dash at South Florida's pro day and immediately put himself on scouts' radars late in the process. He's a total project but might be a terrific find with some seasoning, thanks to those unusual athletic traits.
CBS Sports: C+. At 6-foot-7 and 300 pounds with 35-inch arms and a sub 5.00 40-yard dash, this is a ridiculous athlete who is new to football from London.
ESPN: Despite the Bills never seeing Clayton play football, he's an intriguing addition to develop. The initial projection is as an offensive tackle for the 6-foot-7, 303-pound boxer and former rugby player from England after offensive line coach Aaron Kromer came away from watching tape of his workouts. Notably, he ran a 4.79 40-yard dash, faster than all offensive linemen who competed at the combine in the last 10 years. He'll have an opportunity to show the Bills exactly how his skills will translate and what he may be capable of in the NFL, especially as he does not count for a roster spot as part of the International Player Pathway program.
NFL Absolutely Not Fake News: Just like a fantasy draft, the true sleepers can be found in round seven.

2024.05.14 21:04 aerovistae Switched from League to Dota after 3 years, felt like writing up a comparison between the two

After playing League for ~3 years I decided to stop and learn a new game and now have been playing Dota for about 8 months. As I've been learning I've been comparing and contrasting them, and I felt like writing up my thoughts.
I'm not a high ranked player; I was emerald in League and I don't really played ranked in dota. It doesn't matter, since this post isn't about tactics/strategy or how to win-- I'm just talking about the differences between the mechanics of the two games and their clients.
Disclaimer, this is all about Soloqueue. Pro play is a different environment and many things are different. I'm just talking about the average player's experience.
In Dota's Favor:
  • Much better tools for learning. The tutorial is better. You're able to click other heroes to see their abilities in-game. The guide system to tell you what to buy and how to use it, as well as how to use your abilities. League does have recommended items and recommended order for ability-leveling, but the fact that you can choose between different guides for different roles in dota is huge, and the user-written text telling you when and how to use specific items for a hero is also majorly helpful.
  • The game is less punishing to learn than league, for a multitude of reasons. Don't get me wrong, it still has an enormous barrier to entry and a steep learning curve, but it's just less painful. If you haven't played both it's hard to relate. League has two 1v1 lanes and very little sustain - there's no couriers to bring you tangos and mangos. You have to walk, but missing even a little XP can be devastating, so leaving lane at all can end your lane for you. If you're new and you're laning against someone who isn't new, it is absolutely brutal and you basically cannot play the game. Everyone who ever learned League without prior moba experience remembers what it was like in those first couple months being alone in lane against people who have been playing for years - especially in top lane or mid lane - and just getting fucking demolished 1v1 and not even being able to play. That can happen in dota too, but it just doesn't happen as much by comparison. And while there are roaming supports in dota, there's no jungler role, a very stressful role which in league which often leads to that player being blamed for everything that goes wrong in a match.
  • Way, way, way more interesting items. There are so many active items in Dota, and they feel much more impactful. Having a tool like orchid malevolence or eul's is just enormously powerful. By comparison nearly every item in league is just a statstick. The only comparable items in league are Zhonya's Hourglass (kind of like a self-only Eul's) and Guardian Angel (literally Aegis - the resurrection effect isn't as game-changing in league as it is in dota). There's also a couple of items that give shields (damage barriers), but pretty much everything else is just....more damage, more armor, more health, more attack speed, etc. The item selection is just downright boring by comparison.
  • Way more beautiful map. It's not even close. Dota's map has so much going on. There's so many different places and different entities and landforms, and it's just beautiful. Trees, high ground, outposts, trails through the woods, a radiant side and a dire side, day/night cycle....League's map feels small, empty, and stale by comparison.
  • Fights are slower and longer in Dota. You last longer. You don't get one-shot as much. It's nice. It can be very frustrating in league being killed in a half second before you can do literally anything, over and over, game after game (if you get a bit unlucky and are playing a squishy champ/role and they have one or more assassins).
  • More team-oriented. Due to the prevalence of long-lasting debuffs from both items and hero abilities, no one person can really just solo carry to the same extent as in League. In my experience it's much less common to see someone 1v9 in Dota, and usually it's because the enemy team is just making stupid choices. In League it happens close to every other game.
  • Built-in voice chat. This actually does come in handy a lot. Hate not having it in league.
  • Turbo mode. This mode is just great. Wish league had it. Great for learning and testing and playing casually when you don't have time or interest in a serious game.
  • Not having to recall (teleport to base for hp/mana) is nice. More time spent out on the map playing. Having teleport constantly available lets you take part in more plays. Couriers are great. It's awesome having items shipped out to you instead of having to spend time retrieving them.
  • Better demo tool by far. League's practice tool is notoriously shitty. Being able to open the demo tool while you're waiting in queue in Dota is amazing. Can't do that in league.
  • The backpack is sick. Love being able to hold 3 additional items. Just gives you nice flexibility with consumables and components.
  • Neutral items. This just doesn't exist in league and I wish it did because these are really fun and cool.
  • Agh's shard and scepter, and the talent tree. None of these things exist in League and they add so much and make the game much more fun to progress through.
  • More late game avenues to spend gold. Buybacks, Agh's shard and blessing, edible moon shard, boots of travel 1 & 2, item sharing, etc etc. I realize it's fairly rare to reach that level of full build in ranked, but in low level games it's more common and especially in turbo and honestly it's just great to have stuff to spend the gold on. In league you hit the 6 item cap and that's it, any gold beyond that is mostly wasted. It feels bad.
  • On a related note, it's also really nice how the dota items are useful already at their not-yet-fully-built stage, like how Eul's is a crucial item that doesn't really NEED to be upgraded to Wind Waker, but optionally CAN be later when you have the gold and nothing of higher priority to spend it on anymore. In League you don't get effects like the active on Eul's until you've completed it into its final form (i.e. Wind Waker). This means that in League, with rare exception, you don't really have much choice but to fully finish items one by one, whereas in Dota it's the norm to only build the intermediate item and not FULLY complete it until super late game if at all.
  • The announcer saying "Holy SHIT" when you go on a 10 kill streak. I find this hilarious.
  • Better ability tooltips. When the talent tree adds +40 damage to a skill, that skill's text is updated to reflect that. I love this. League has a lot of little issues with incomplete tooltips that don't tell you the full story of how an ability works. You have to reference the wiki constantly. I have to reference it SOMETIMES in dota (like I had no idea why Pudge's E could completely block the damage from his W until I read on the wiki that the rot damage is divided into 5x per second, not 1 instance once per second), but in League I have to reference it pretty much...uh....ngl, constantly. Even as someone who has played it for thousands of hours. Feelsbad.
  • Better cosmetics store. League's just has a splash art image of a skin and a purchase button. You have to go to youtube to see how it actually looks, and you cannot try it out at all without buying it. The fact that Dota allows you to launch into the demo tool with any cosmetic is amazing and something League players would literally trade sexual favors for.
  • Cosmetics for things other than the heroes/champions themselves. In League you can only buy champion skins. In Dota you can buy cosmetics for the ancient, the towers, the creeps, the map, etc. None of that exists in League. We fucking WISH we could buy that kind of stuff. Riot are you listening?
In League's favor:
  • Better lore. It's not a contest really. League's champions all have names and stories that are placed front and center, whereas Dota hero names are kind of buried and infrequently referenced. They're more like archetypes than individuals with their own identities. I mean...there's LITERALLY a dude called "Anti-Mage." There's a dude on a bat and his name is Batrider. The videos and media around champion releases in league are just way cooler. Check out the fiddlesticks rework video on youtube: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jNn2F39G-6s
  • WAYYYYY better champion animations and sound design. This is for me where League blows Dota out of the water. Go ult someone as Axe - he does a little hop and swing animation. Then check this out, the corresponding ultimate in League from Darius, at the 3min mark: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vRu0IznjCSc There's really just nothing in Dota that feels like Jhin, or Ekko, or so many others. With rare exception, almost all the champions in league have aspects that FEEL amazing - great sound design / animations / feedback delays that are incredibly rewarding. Dota's heros are really fun to play and I'm having a great time, but if you put them side by side with a pretty large percent of League's cast, the animations of many of their abilities and movements just feel kinda flat and low-budget by comparison.
  • Cooler duels. Dueling is a big part of league and it doesn't seem to be such a big part of Dota by comparison. Whenever a fight starts, people teleport in and it becomes a teamfight, or someone disengages and gets away somehow using one of the many items like force staff or eul's. In league, two lanes are 1v1 and the jungler also often 1v1s, so there's a kind of constant dueling and it really lets you find fun ways to express skill and mastery. There's only one item that will get you out of a sticky situation instead of many, and only a portion of champions can reasonably build that item in the first place.
  • More 1v9 potential. Because there's so much less CC by comparison to dota, and champion counters aren't as hard as in dota, a single player can completely take over a game and win versus multiple opponents at once single-handedly. This can be really, really exciting and it's one of the high points of League that makes the game addictive.
  • Having to recall (teleport to base for mana/health/buy items) actually can be kinda nice too, by comparison. It lets you take a breather and just look over the state of the game while you walk back to lane.
  • Being able to see on the tab scoreboard what items and creep score people have is really, really nice. It's really fucking annoying in Dota having to click champion portraits to see what items they have, and if you click ANYTHING else it hides it again so you have to do it while standing still or moving in a straight line. Probably dota loyalists will say this is part of the skill of the game, but honestly imo it's just annoying/bad UI design that people sort of just got used to and became convinced was "part of the game."
  • Skillshots! In Dota most abilities are just unit targeted or AOE, while disjointing does exist, aiming isn't really as big a mechanic. There ARE abilities you have to aim, which in league we'd call skillshots, but they're far fewer. In league skillshots are kind of the norm, and aiming them and dodging them is a huge part of the game and it's fun to do so and makes you feel cool when you land them or dodge them. Having nearly everything be unit targeted isn't bad, it's just different, but it is something I enjoy a lot in League.
  • You can buy as many wards as you want. I hate having to share wards with the team in dota, and the store being out of them. I understand it's part of the game and managing that is part of the skill of dota, but I find it tedious and don't really enjoy it as a mechanic. Similarly, in League basic wards don't take up an inventory slot and instead get their own special slot like TP scrolls in Dota, which is really nice. It's pretty frustrating losing an inventory slot to wards.
  • Manaless champions. There are a couple dozen champions in League that don't use mana, and many people enjoy playing them. Dota doesn't really have that.
  • Simplicity. League has a smaller and simpler map, fewer mechanics, FAR fewer active item abilities, and more rigidity to its champion roles and how the game is played in soloqueue. Dota is kind of intimidating to learn from the sheer amount of stuff it has going on. Not everyone has the time or interest for it all.
  • Rotating game modes. ARAMs (all random all mid: a constant 5v5 teamfight on a map that only has one lane in the form of a bridge connecting the two teams' bases and nowhere else to go) are pretty great. Dota's modes seem to be a bit more static and homogenous, but idk, it's possible I just haven't been playing long enough yet?
  • Better champion skins, frankly. Some of League's skins are just amazing, and they ALL come with complete visual makeovers for all of the champion's abilities. While you can buy individual ability effect cosmetics in Dota, the options are somewhat limited by comparison. Any skin purchase in League will redo all the abilities to varying extents. Sometimes it's a small change, but higher-end skins make very significant changes. Dota does have some cool skins and a ton of cool minor cosmetics, but I would say League wins here.
Conclusions:
On the whole I'd say there's more things to like about Dota than about League just in sheer quantity of bullet points, but I love both games and I think they're both really fun. If Dota improved their lore, their animations, and their tab screen and League improved their cosmetics store and their map and added neutral items, the talent tree, and agh's shard & scepter, I wouldn't really have any major complaints about either of them.
I think anyone who loves one game could potentially love the other one too and it's totally worth learning whichever one you don't already know, if you have the time. Obviously these games take a ton of time and most people barely have time for one let alone two. But if you're young especially, they're both really fun.
It's pretty hard for me to see eye-to-eye with the people who love one game and ferociously hate on the other - it seems childish and kind of empty. To not find one as fun as the other, sure, that's normal, but to expend energy hating the other one and constantly shitting on it, that just confuses me. You can have a favorite while still acknowledging the other as a comparably enjoyable game.
One final note - one of the things I found most interesting about comparing them is seeing which mechanics are normal in one game that would be overpowered in the other game.
In League there is a champion named Zilean whose ult is to enchant an ally such that if they die in the next 5 seconds they're resurrected - basically Aegis, but on a one minute cooldown, for anyone on your team who needs it. Zilean would likely have a >90% wr in dota.
But then in Dota Nature's Prophet's teleport has a 90s/60s/30s cooldown and he can access it from level one if he chooses to, and eventually has a talent that removes its cooldown completely. Meanwhile this exists in League as one of the strongest ults in the game and with one of the longest cooldowns of any champion ability. Nature's prophet would have a >90% wr in League.

Why A Husband Might Want To Locate His Wife

You might want to track your wife's phone for several important reasons whether it is safety concerns or uncovering infidelity. Each reflects concern and practicality. Up next, you'll find three key scenarios that might lead you to monitor her location. These points will clarify why tracking can be necessary and how it aligns with responsible use.
  1. Evidence Of Cheating: Notice your wife's new habits? Frequent small lies, sudden changes in appearance, or unusual expenses can be alarming. These signs might prompt you to act swiftly, as they could suggest she's seeing someone else. Wondering about her online activities? Check apps like Tinder, Badoo, and Bumble, which are often used in affairs.
  2. Safety Concerns: If your wife travels often or goes to areas that are known to be unsafe, you might want to track her phone to ensure her safety. This way, you can know her whereabouts and be assured that she is in a safe location or be alerted to any potential dangers.
  3. Family Logistics: For practical reasons, you might want to keep track of each other's locations to manage family schedules more efficiently. This can be especially helpful for coordinating pickups and drop-offs, running errands, or simply ensuring someone is home for important deliveries or services.
It's important to note that trust and privacy are critical components of a healthy relationship. Tracking someone's phone without their consent can be a violation of privacy and may have legal and ethical implications. Open communication about the reasons for tracking and mutual agreement is essential in this context.

Spying On Your Wife's Phone

Have you ever asked yourself the following questions:
  • How can I see my wife's texts without her knowing?
  • Can my spouse track my phone without me knowing?
  • Can I track my girlfriend's phone without her knowing?
The wife, phone, and the truth. If you ever asked any of the above questions then you probably feel that she is being unfaithful. But trying to jailbreak your wife's phone, track an iPhone, access browsing history, or simply track her phone without her knowledge, is not easy. Most people rarely leave their phones unattended long enough for you to install monitoring software, access WhatsApp messages, or read your wife's text messages. Therefore, it is highly unlikely you will be able to utilize phone tracking apps for Android or iOS devices for spying on your wife's phone. This is the reason we would encourage you to avoid phone spy apps or any type of phone tracker on her Android device or iPhone and instead find out if she is cheating through GPS location tracking.

Can My Spouse Track My Phone Without Me Knowing?

If you're wondering whether your spouse can track your phone without your knowledge, the short answer is yes.
There are several ways your spouse could track your phone. One way is through the use of spyware, which can be downloaded onto your phone without your knowledge. Spyware can track your location, monitor your calls and text messages, and even access your photos and emails.
Another way your spouse could track your phone is through the use of a shared account, such as an Apple ID or Google account. If you have your account linked to your spouse's device, they can access your location history and other data through the account.
If you're concerned that your spouse may be tracking your phone, there are a few things you can do. First, check your phone for any suspicious apps or programs that may have been installed without your knowledge. You can also change your phone's settings to prevent location sharing and limit app permissions.

Is It Ethical To Track My Wife's Car Without Her Knowledge?

Yes, and no. Why? Because tracking your wife's car without her knowledge walks a fine line ethically. If she's exhibiting worrying behaviors—like showing low self-esteem, suddenly working out more, expressing confusion about her identity, becoming more negative, spending excess time on her phone, or escalating fights trivially—your concern for her well-being might justify tracking. It's ethical if you're doing it for her safety. But if it's driven by jealousy or a lack of trust, this could infringe on her privacy and betray the trust in your relationship.

2024.05.14 21:01 InterestingRope2483 Paying for funeral expenses by selling my deceased mother's car

My mother-in-law recently passed away and we're trying to figure out how to navigate her debts. She had no will and, after checking her bank accounts, had effecively zero liquid cash. Her only owned property was a fully paid car with the title solely in her name. Since we paid for the funeral in full ourselves, we've been told that we can be considered a creditor of the estate and can be reimbursed for that cost if we have proof of payment (which we do). Ideally, we would like to transfer the car title and sell it to cover some of the funeral costs. Is this allowed or are we not considered a creditor in the same way the hospital or ambulance company is?
In our state (PA), form MV-39 is used to transfer the title of a deceased person to their heirs. There is one line that states "I hereby state under oath that all debts of the decedent have been paid." We can't logically check this box knowing there are outstnading hospital bills along with our own funeral expenses (assuming they are permitted to be covered by the estate. Regardless of what we're allowed to do, we're unsure how to acutally sell the car when we aren't the owners on the title.
TLDR: Not sure how to transfer the car title of my deceased mother-in-law because the title transfer form requires that we swear all debts have been paid, but we'd be using the car funds to pay said debts.
Thanks for any input you can provide!

2024.05.14 20:59 Massive-Outcome-4087 I have dad-feelings for my ex-teacher

My ex-highschool-teacher and now mentofriend helped me through a really rough time in my life when my parents threw me out on account of being trans in my late teens and I got really attached to him. I think his attention and approval replaced the approval and attention I missed from my own parents, and I really depended on him to provide it for me. I felt so lost and helpless and he guided me through it with such compassion, offering emotioal support in the form of long talks, uplifting pats on the shoulder and even the occasional hug. He lent me some really good books to take my mind off my problems and he even gave me some money once, when I was completely broke. He was the one to take me to a hospital when I thought I didn't have the strenght to live on anymore and he visited me there a lot. He was listed as my emergency contact there. He never asked for anything in return and I feel really grateful for his guidance and support.
When I graduated and moved on to university, there was a really painful break between us. I had told him all this - that I feel really attached and that I hoped to stay in touch. He got defensive, claiming we never had anything more than a normal teacher-student relationship, obviously scared of being accused of overstepping a boundary (which I didn't mean at the time). For a while, there was awakard silence, but then we got back in touch through an old extracurricular that I used to take with him, that was a poetry circle. He invited me back to join it (which is normal, a lot of ex-students come by this particular poetry circle) and it felt so good to earn his respect and appreciation back. I had always written only for him to like it, I knew his preferences and catered to them specifically. Only now, I couldn't write at all - especially not for him. I was blocked by the fear of writing something that he didn't like and losing his approval, that I still now feel like I desperately need and want. I hate that I still need and want it, and I would very much like to disconnect his fatherly approval from my self-worth. In a way, I feel like writing now is like asking my partner for sex (which I struggle with) in that it makes me vulnerable to a rejection that I don't think I could handle receiving. I even quit the poetry circle in hopes that if it's not for him to read, I'd want to start writing again. It was very painful to do because I feared I would never see him now. But now, he invited me and my partner to his birthday in a few weeks. I am very excited to see him again but I'm also scared. Am I still only looking for his approval? Can I be friends with this man? Do I have to cut ties in order to become independant? I would like to change this weird dynamic of me looking up tp him so much and him being kind of uncomfortable with that, but I don't know how. Any ideas?

2024.05.14 20:58 Violence_Fiend The sudden influx of griefers, trolls, and inters at end of split

I get it. It's end of season and people don't really care about their rank or they have already reached their desired rank on their main account so they play on their smurf and don't care. This isn't anything new. However, I don't ever recall having this much griefing and inting in the last several years that I've played this garbage game. I don't know whether or not this is happening as frequently in lower but my experience in Emerald to Masters has been absolutely atrocious.
Just last game I had a Diamond 1 Riven who would not stop fighting their fed top laner. She kept dying and went back to 1v1 him on spawn. She should know not to do that at her rank and should be banned for soft-inting, but it never gets detected because Riot is a shitty company. I checked her stats post-game and she demoted from Masters inting every single game. This has literally been the case for dozens of games I've played in the last few days. Losers just soft-inting games without consequence. You can't even tell because they made champ select anonymous otherwise dodging would at least be a band-aid solution.
I'm a little surprised that no one is talking about this. I don't expect much from this community but the fact that this is going on to this magnitude and not many know about it is absurd.

2024.05.14 20:58 Scorpio_178 Getting over a friend who disappeared

I've been friends with a guy for like 13 years. My children knew him and it was the easiest relationship (friends) ive had with nothing extra required to make it work. If we didn't talk for a bit on the phone, I'd see him around town working. Someone who just understood me on a deep level. He could make me smile and bring me back down to earth. I could go on and on forever about the positive impact he had on me. Helped me during struggling times with my kids. I cannot say anything bad and I always in return was there for him even if it was a simple "how's your day going" or "how was your weekend". I always wanted to make sure he never felt alone.
Well, out of no where he had blocked me/or deleted his account. I would call him but I believe that he would reach out to me if he wanted to. See that statement "if he wanted to".
Before this... he went from normal conversations to limited, emotionless random messages. I did touch base on it and say "I know your emotions are in there somewhere" and he said something like "yeah, somewhere"... it was hurtful
Now he's gone. I keep trying to think if I did anything wrong and I haven't. I'm also trying to take responsibility for this as if i did something wrong but I think it's just a way for me to avoid other emotions. It's been like 18 weeks of nothing.
I've accepted it mentally but still emotionally being drawn back to it. I don't know if he's okay or not. I just... don't know.
Have you been through anything like this? Is this normal to anyone? I don't want to be stuck on it when he clearly isn't.

2024.05.14 20:54 DarkiiLTHB I didn't check to see if the bank account number I supplied was fake. Should I feel guilty?

So I call scammers in my free time for a good laugh and called one which was doing a $100 rebate voucher. We get to talking and he asks me for an account or routing number for Bank of America (I can't remember). I just made one up and he went along with it and by the time the call was done, he had already supposedly sent the package out to a fake address in Maine. I supplied a fake name, but I wasn't able to check if the number I supplied was actually fake. Have I accidentally possibly ruined someone's life or is it not a big deal? Thanks.

2024.05.14 20:54 cutesmellykittenpaws Car rental in Greece - Got charged extra ÂŁ400 for a dent in car I didn't do!

Hi I went to Greece on holiday with my mom last week, and we rented a car for 5 days. We booked it in the UK through Orbitcarhire. It was my first time renting a car, and I realize now that I should have taken photos and videos before signing anything. Fast forward one week later, I got charged £400 on my debit card!!! I checked google review, and they are clearly doing the same to everyone. I've basically been scammed. The company is called "Sunrise Rent a Car / Caldera Car Hire" in Santorini. The car had no dents when we received it, and the man assured us everything was fine when we returned it and paid the remaining amount. He has my direct debit details because he wrote them all down when I signed the papers. What should I do now? I want to do a chargeback on my Halifax account, but I'm not sure how to proceed. I've never done this before. I would greatly appreciate everyone's help 🙏

2024.05.14 20:52 ohhsecretaltshh What's the best way to keep my secondary account hidden from family and friends if I take it off private?

I have an old primary account with family, friends and old colleagues. I never use it anymore.
I have a separate private account that's not explicit (obviously, it's instagram) but is more niche and "sexy" in nature. I've managed to get a couple of thousand followers through repost pages but it has gotten to the point where I find it difficult to grow the account any more, since it's private, so people aren't finding it via hashtags and even if I'm featured on pages some people won't follow private accounts.
The private account isn't linked to the original account in any way - I never used the same email or linked it to my facebook etc. I've never had a request on it from someone I know.
Obviously taking it off private means I open up the chance of someone finding me organically, but I'm wondering what's the best way to work with the system to avoid inviting issues with old colleagues, friends or family finding it.
I thought I'd block the accounts of everyone I know on instagram to be safe. I was thinking I'd make a direct list of the urls to their pages and then visit their page directly and block rather than searching for their usernames while logged into the private account. Would that work, or would that associate me with those profiles by just visiting them?
Would deactivating the original account help?

2024.05.14 20:52 Flashy-Set8622 Thoughts / advice?

Last November my Vespa was stolen. I was out of town when it happened ( they weirdly took it the day I left town. ) it was stolen from the locked gated back area of my apartment complex. I was gone for a week, but a neighbor saw it in their alley where the thief dumped it like a block from my building and posted a photo on a neighborhood fb group. When I got back I noticed it was gone immediately and, via some community help, was able to recover it. I locked it up back in the same gated area and kept it there while I figure out what to do next.
The thief had pulled the front cover / badge off, kicked the handle bars to break the steering lock and pushed it away. Presumably got tired of pushing it or something else deterred them from taking it home and further violating it. As far as I can tell all of the damage was done to the fork/ ignition/ handlebars etc. A service tech from local scooter shop, with whom I have a long standing relationship, reached out via text to tell me that they saw it listed on a local Vespa page would repair it for me if I brought it in. Typically I do all of my own work on my bikes, but as it was getting cold and I don’t have a proper garage I agreed and had it towed up there. This was in late December. Fast forward to now, they haven’t repaired it, they keep telling me different things when I call ( I didn’t call for like three months bc winte cold/ being patient etc) and they generally give me a back ordered part excuse or something similar. Now it’s mid May, gorgeous out, and I’m missing some prime ass riding days.
So far I’ve been told
  1. The repair will be close to a grand and maybe I just want to buy a new scooter from them- I said no thanks let’s just repair it - this was in late March.
  2. The fork is back ordered with no clue as to when a replacement is available, but it could be repaired by replacing the ignition and using the old fork, but I’d lose the steering lock. I agreed to this repair - this was mid April.
  3. I called like two weeks later and was told the fork was back ordered. I reminded them that we had discussed repairing it with the parts available and he said , oh yes. Let’s do that. And have still heard nothing.
  4. Now when I call that service tech is not available to talk and the other techs don’t know anything about the situation. ( my guy is the service dept manager)
At this point I’m ready to just go get the bike and figure it out on my own. I see the parts I need are available from scooter west, I have tools, space, basic knowhow and a youtube account so it should be easy enough to knock out. But I’m just flummoxed as to why do all of this. It’s been 5 months. They deffo had plenty of time to repair it if they were going to, AND THEY REACHED OUT TO ME UNSOLICITED!!! Im super annoyed but I don’t feel like I can express this to them or they’ll find some way to delay longer or fuck with me more. It just seems like if they were gonna fix it they would have by now. And I’m sure they’re super busy now that riding season is in full swing. Anyway just needed to get this off my chest. Any advice as to how to proceed? or has anyone experienced anything like this before? I’ve been buying stuff from this shop for years, I still have good will towards them but wtf. WHY??
Edit : clarification

2024.05.14 20:52 roukfly02 [NY] Need HELP with background check info, specifically credit check info after job offer was accepted

So I accepted a job offer and I am just about to complete the background check information using Checkr. I have no criminal history nor any employment timeline mess ups. I do however have bad credit because I lost my job late last year and was unable to keep all of my lines of credit in good standing with most accounts being closed. Because of this my score dropped a lot. The role is not really a finance role, but from the job description I will probably be dealing with billing information from clients. I know that how much depth a check has depends on the company and role but my question is do I tell the people in HR about this or do I keep going through the process and if something shows up then explain? The negative history is relatively short, it's been about 4-5 months. As I really need this new job to essentially restart my life this is filling with my so much anxiety. Any assistance is appreciated.
