Darkorbit cheats

Would you go back to Darkorbit if there was a server with this concept?

2021.11.27 00:09 KingGer030 Would you go back to Darkorbit if there was a server with this concept?

Hey guys, I just sat bored on my sofa and, for whatever reason, thought about the popular game DarkOrbit at the time. Bigpoint released a new PVE server about 1 year ago, which brought some players (including me) back into the game. Personally, I only played about 3 months before quitting because I noticed that the biggest problem hadn't changed. This does not mean botters and other cheating people. As you can imagine, this means the Pay2win system, which Bigpoint has reinvented in its ruthlessness. In a short brainstorming session, I came up with a very spontaneous idea that I don't think is even that stupid:

I was thinking that if Bigpoint provided a new server that would ...

... provides no in-game purchases that give you an advantage over others

... the old full elite is desirable for everyone (no lf4 laser etc.)

... Uridium has adjusted prices in such a way that one can advance with the farmed Uridium and be rewarded for intensive farming

Bigpoint could satisfy their greed for money by creating a kind of subscription server. I would like to add that you charge a monthly amount of 5-10 € for playing on this server, which every player has to pay in order to have access to it. Personally, I would be willing to pay 10 € every month for a Darkorbit version, which relies on hard work and not on money. I think with this or a similar principle, many players would return and a win-win situation would arise for everyone. We get our playable game back, Bigpoint receives new and former players who throw money down their throats every month to play the game. Of course, you earn a lot less from one player than from a player on another server who pays hundreds of euros every month, but you would earn income with people like me that would otherwise never arise, otherwise I would never play the game will touch again.

So my question is whether you would start the game again if there were such a server or a similar one. Feel free to write what you would like to add so that we can create a correct concept that we can suggest to Bigpoint so that we can soon make the missing orbit unsafe together;)

Thanks for reading!

Proof Bigpoint has been selling bots to their own games for years and now the truth is out there for all to see
Please watch the videos in the links provided and make up your own mind.
If you agree with my standpoint I would ask that you please share to get the word out about a major game developers betrayal of its own customers, and the gaming community they created by selling bots to their own games.

FULL Video for Bigpoints bot Golem.exe on DarkOrbit - YouTube This one should grab your attention, as a collaboration between myself and TheRealNinja1 we have a video detailing just how much you can get away with IN PLAIN SIGHT ( I was also promised a follow up video to the account 24 hours later to prove it hasn't been banned).
Final evidence Bigpoint allows botting (against their TOS) Admitting to being a Bot/Cheater - YouTube Here is the video promised above proving NO BAN issued 24 hours later despite clear admission of guilt and disrespect to the game & no ban issued today as a result of his swearing in chat or second admission of guilt.

these are Bigpoints terms of service regarding bots, macros, bugs/glitches etc. as can be found here General Terms and Conditions for Bigpoint GmbH (hereinafter Bigpoint)

1.2.6 Users are authorised to create multiple accounts, but certain games operated by Bigpoint permit Users to play with one Account only (“prohibition of multiple Accounts”), and detailed information on this is provided in the Game rules. Bigpoint strongly recommends that all Users with multiple Accounts read the rules for the relevant Game, as a breach of the prohibition of multiple Accounts may result in an immediate suspension of the User.
Furthermore, even in Games that enable Users to have multiple Accounts, communication and any kind of interaction whatsoever between the Accounts of the same User is prohibited (ban on “pushing”). In particular, an Account may not be used to create advantages for another Account held by the same User to, for example, transfer Game items or currency from one Account to another Account of that User, and one Account cannot compete against another Account held by the same User.
1.2.7 The prohibition on pushing applies to the Accounts of different Users. An Account cannot be used to dishonestly gain advantages through the Account of another User through the transfer of Game items or currency, or by deliberately losing a battle (“boosting”).
1.2.8 The use of programs that place an excessive load on the Services are strictly forbidden, and this applies to the use of any software that would influence normal gameplay, in particular programs that systematically or automatically control games or individual game functions (bots, macros, etc.). Any reproduction, analysis or modification of the Games, Game components or content provided within the scope of the Services is also prohibited.
1.2.9 The use of programming bugs and/or errors to achieve personal gain is strictly prohibited. Any identified bugs or errors should be reported immediately via the Support contact form.
1.2.10 The use of the Games and Services using anonymiser services (e.g. proxies) or other processes that conceal the location of the residence or the usual place of residence of the User is prohibited.

And here is the description for Darkorbit from Bigpoint themselves, as can be found here DarkOrbit Reloaded – Bigpoint

DarkOrbit Reloaded is a space-combat MMO where players can explore vast & alien territories to gather valuable resources, form clans to control sectors and ultimately have giant interstellar battles and raids.
Following on from the success of Seafight, DarkOrbit became something of a cult phenomenon and a conservative estimate would suggest that some of our players have spent more than 5000 hours playing it. Now reinvented as DarkOrbit Reloaded, it has been brought into the here and now with features such as the UBA leagues and, of course, it is now in 3D!
Dark Orbit Reloaded underwent a wave of bot-banning which, although not necessarily the most profitable course of action, resulted in a huge increase in how fair the game is for our players.

If after the final video you are not convinced of Bigpoints involvement/complicity in the use of bots and other "cheats" then you haven't been paying attention.

2020.07.03 00:18 Anthony_813 Darkorbit 2? Here are my ideas.

Too long didn’t read: Here are my ideas for a second, brand new Darkorbit game. Like a sequel I guess? Feel free to comment any ideas you might have or any changes.
The darkorbit player base is kind of dead and full of bots. The problem that darkorbit has is that it takes literal YEARS to get ready for PvP, and no one wants to kill aliens 5 hours a day every day for a year to get ready for pvp, only to get destroyed by someone better than you.
I think that a new darkorbit game should be made. Add more detail to the graphics so that it can fully use the GPU, but still leave the old 2D setting for those who prefer it or do not have a powerful gpu.
DO2, if it ever gets made, should take way less time to grind. I think that 1/1.5 months to get ready to destroy very powerful aliens is good enough, and 2/3 months to get ready for pvp, 4-5 months to be maxed out or at least being able to destroy any ship easily.
The times shown above feel like it’s too long. I really don’t want to spend 1 month killing aliens anyway, maybe make it 15 days? I don’t know. A short amount of time to grind will attract old and new players. However, the game may feel too short and people might be maxed out in just a month and a half, with nothing to do, so that’s something to consider. There should be some sort of a balance between time to grind and time to be maxed out.
A battle pass that is actually normal would be good, like “kill x alien 30 times without dying” and get a decent or good reward.
The second game should keep the same weapons and shield names, as well as CPU’s and formations as well as ships. I don’t see any need to change anything as they’re fine, although veteran players will have an advantage over new players due to them knowing how to handle several formations. Currency should be kept the same (credits, uri). Abilities and hangar, Skylab etc, should be kept. Again, no reason to change them. That doesn’t mean it shouldn’t get revamped. It would be nice to see new ships and skills, as well as new weapons and shields, formations, a new UI etc.
This second game should have the same servers (not shared with DO1) and servers should be added (ge2, ge3) if needed. At first, I would just start with a big global server and then keep adding more as the player base increases.
The second game should have some sort of option to transfer your account to several other servers. If ge2 was to be made and your account was in ge1, you should be able to easily go to ge2 to play with your current account, and not a new one.
Add anti-cheat and some anti-bot measure to prevent those, as they just ruin the game.
Add tournaments for big prizes, maybe even real money. Who knows?
As for the old players in DO1, it should be their choice whether they want to stay in the first game or completely start over. I feel like no compensation should be made as this will grant an advantage over new players coming. However, this might frustrate a lot of players making them leave completely or simply not come to DO2. If a compensation were to be made, don’t make it too much. The advantage shouldn’t be too much as this might frustrate new players.
As for the clans, they should be server-wide. For example, if there was ge1 and ge2, es1 and es2, and I made a clan in ge1 that is top 10 in the leaderboard, this should also apply to ge2, es1 and es2.
As for the enterprises (MMO, VRU, EIC) I feel like they’re fine but I wouldn’t mind a new one or revamped ones. The map structure is also fine, but then again, I wouldn’t mind new maps for a new enterprise or new routes.
I’ll probably have missed something but these are my basic ideas for a new game, if it were to be made. Feel free to comment any ideas or changes you might have. I know this is a very long shot but who knows what might happen?

2019.08.16 20:07 exiik CCP on the same bad way as Bigpoint

bigpoint had pretty big communities in their games seafight and darkorbit, but after years of bad company decisions it falls hard... CCP is on the same way, points are similar 1) ignoring unbalance 2) ignoring botting/cheating 3) needs more real $ to good play & add more pay2win 4) player numbers and activity fall 5) presenting all above as huge success and good features last phase. 6) more and more events . . after all above bigpoint sends question-form about "why do you stop play" :-D true story

2018.12.07 00:36 topastop I make bots. I think I can contribute to the anti-bot problem.

I must say I never botted or developed bots for Eve online. But I used bots and made bots for a not so well known game called darkorbit and other bots for a game called Metin2, I think both companies well deserve them. Anyway, back to what matters:
From my experience you can't stop botting, period. It is a constant fight of people trying to keep the system lawful and people trying to find new ways to abuse the system.
Example: Initially, the bots on darkorbit would analyze the data packages and send packages based on those analyses. Encryption and obfuscation were then used by the devs so we could not read and create the data packages as easily anymore. So me and others started creating pixel bots instead (bots that see your pixels in the screen and move your mouse to perform clicks and stuff). Similar things happened at Metin2.

Few things, substantially, made creating bots harder specially during the pixel bots era: The devs started putting small gradients in the colors, it became harder for the image recognition of the bots to act correctly and a lot of people stopped using bots. Nevertheless, others found ways to cheat the system again, such as having a threshold for image recognition.
Other things were created, and new ways were found to continue abusing the system. The big lesson here is: You can't technically stop botting you can only heavily discourage the botting behavior and bans seldom work because you need to catch the people first.
From my experience, the biggest thread to bots was other players, specially in Darkorbit, and I believe this would be key for Eve to solve the problem as it is a PVP centered game itself. In darkorbit, killing people would earn you honor points and bots were a great honor points farms. I think that the biggest botting problem are both exploration and ratting (you can kill excavators, alright?!).
For explorations I have no suggestion at the moment. For ratting, I think ccp needs to find a way to attract bot hunters.
This could be done if, for example, bounty rewards for killing rats were reduced to 10-20% of current levels, and in turn rats would drop some sort of "blue loot". This blue loot would need to be worth more than the other 90-80% of isk missing as this is significantly increasing the risk for legit players. Some sort of tax form would need to be in place to prevent corps from defaulting and some sort of warp disruption would need to be in place so bots can't warp immediately (Real people have friend to protect them from baddies).
That is it, come and flame me for opening an anti-bot thread. I am available for any questions regarding this issue.
