Found a black lanyard with keys

2024.05.28 23:26 Ok-Employee23 Found a black lanyard with keys

Someone dropped their black lanyard near the engineering building. It has a silver key and two black keys, along with a corgi charm on the lanyard. A student brought it to the HMSS front office if you wanna pick it up.

2024.05.28 07:58 snooper98 PLEASE protect your pet's paws unlike this person

I saw a woman walking her Chihuahua today around 3PM, she was waiting at the light at Speedway and N Dodge. The poor dog could not put all fours on the sidewalk which must have been 150°, and was jumping up at her to try to get her to pick him up. Of course she was on her phone and just looked at him like she didn't know what he was doing as she crossed at the light across the black asphalt. He was clearly in distress. I actually did a U turn to see if I could politely intercede but wasn't able to find her. If she wasn't aware today, she probably won't be aware any other day this week or this summer, just feel sorry for the dog. Please mention to friends who have pets to protect then from the heat sink that is pavement. I know someone was posting on here about booties, that's an option, or just keep them at home.

Hoping for recovery for Stitch
Our 10 year old Corgi Chihuahua mix lost the use of her back legs yesterday. Took her to the emergency vet and are hoping she recovers without surgery with medication and rest. We live in Los Angeles and the vet said surgery may be around $15K-$20K. She also has renal disease, so surgery would be a risk with the anesthesia.
We adopted her 7 years ago from the county shelter. She was extremely emaciated and just had puppies. The shelter worker said some man brought her in saying he found her as a stray, but they knew with the way she looked like she she was reacting when he left that he was the owner. The shelter worker said mother dogs are usually dumped at 3 years old once the breeder has no use for them. Stitch was dealt a bad hand with her kidney disease and former life, and am hoping she recovers so she has more years of adventures with us.
We're so thankful that this subreddit exists to provide information and hope.
This is her on St. Patrick's Day.
Thank you everyone.

2024.05.28 01:22 Whining_Dog My mom, the full story.

Hi, I live in the UK, 22F, and I really want this story to be known. This is going to be long, because this is a decade worth of information, and I have issues with remembering times and orders of things, so it might get messy. This is also very unbelievable, but I assure you, I can prove this is all true.
My mom and my dad split up when I was a child, maybe 10ish. My mom stole money from my dad who worked hard to support us. While he was at work, a guy would come knock on our door which I'd sometimes answer. Big biker dude, he'd ask for my mom if I answered and it turns out he was selling her ketamine. I was just answering the door to her ket dealer as a literal child.
My dad kept ferrets and lurchers and my mom had a Chihuahua. When they split, she kicked him out and proceeded to starve his animals. The ferrets all starved to death. The lurches, mother and adult pup, were starved too. When RSPCA found them, the pup had only survived by eating the carcass of the mother. I think my mom hid them in a black bag. Her dog, the Chihuahua, was fine though. She lied about trying to commit suicide when confronted. I saw it all, and still have nightmares about that night.
She stopped me seeing my dad but my dad fought hard to try and see me. I can't remember much of this time, but she managed to get away with separating us. Guess the court just fucked up. She made me go by my nan's last name so I couldn't be found. My dad would never stop looking for me, nor his side of the family, but they had no idea she'd made me go by another last name.
She started going out with lots of different men at the same time. I remember seeing a new guy in the house each day. I remember asking why so many people were coming over while a guy was there once, and I got told off afterwards.
This part gets especially messy. She meets a guy who sticks around. Big Irish guy, has a daughter. We end up living in a place with them. She leaves all our belongings in the house I grew up in. Didn't take my baby photos, clothes, anything of mine. Took her own stuff, though, and I think it all gets chucked in a skip when the house goes up for sale. Fresh start with the new guy I guess. I'm not gonna sugarcoat it, she started showing me pictures of intimate parts of the body. I was still a child, I couldn't have been older than 12. She gave me 'massages' and made me give her some. We were made to bath together and share a bed. Single bed, originally. I was molested. So fucking much. I didn't even know it was wrong or abnormal so I never said anything, I just carried on with things. There are lots of things from this time.
Started going to school. Secondary school, which was hard because when we went to live with the Irish guy she just took me after school one day and we never went back. Didn't do my GCSE's, so every school I went to treated me like I was stupid. Her and the Irish guy break up. Messy I think, got physical. She dumped me at the house of the friend I made for months. I didn't see her for months. Didn't hear from her. My friend got abusive, would beat me up when I went to eat food. I'd lock myself in the bathroom so she couldn't hurt me, she'd give me a plate of food to apologize. It would repeat.
She came back, we moved into a place. Just us. She met a guy, he started grooming me. Somewhere before this we were in a hostel. I only found out recently when I was told, but it came back. I have memories that lead me to believe I was r*ped.
This is already a long post, but I'm not even halfway through my story. I guess I'll carry it on another time. If you read this far, thank you. I've been so desperate for someone else to know what has happened. Someone outside of the few friends I have in my life right now.
Sorry if any of this doesn't make sense or such, I'm just typing it out the way it comes out of my brain. Rambling and stuff, at 12:22 at night.
Ciao

Ghosts family never came for her, now she’s looking for a family to spend her golden years with
Ghost is a 10 year old husky mix (shelter says Australian shepherd, looks more like corgi to me) who was found near the Sonic on beach Blvd in Huntington Beach. She was microchipped and found with a collar, but no tags, and no family came to the shelter to redeem her.
She’s now waiting for her forever home at OC Animal Care in Tustin.
Ghost Pet ID: A1552587 Sex: S Age: 10 Years Weight: 61.00 lbs Color: Black Tan Breed: Siberian Husky Aust Shepherd Jurisdiction: Huntington Bch Intake Date: 05/12/2024

2024.05.27 05:32 ElectricalWave81 What are your dream stuff?

People sometimes like some things and want them. That usually becomes their dream thing. It's like when you like a certain car like a Bugatti Chiron or a Lamborghini Veneno or an Auti S1. It then turns into your dream car. Or when you like a Corgi or a Chihuahua turns into your dream dog. Anyway, here are some questions for you to answer.
Dream Car. Dream Pet. Dream House. Dream Electronic.

2024.05.25 06:50 StressyandMessy24 Has anyone adopted this dog around December 2019?

Has anyone adopted this dog around December 2019?
I'm not sure where else to put this, but this is killing me. This is Bailey. As far as I know, he is a Corgi/wiener dog/chihuahua mix who should be about 6-7 years old. I don't want to get into specifics, because it's still painful, but I had to give him up for adoption at the Humane Society in the Pikes Peak Region in late November or early December 2019. When I called them about 4 months ago for some records, I asked about him and if he was adopted and they said he was immediately the morning after I dropped him off.
While that made me extremely happy, I was also overwhelmed with guilt again. I miss him so much, even after almost 5 years. If anyone here has adopted him, please let me know if he's safe and happy. Or even if he's still alive.
I am able to provide more pictures if necessary and more information about his health history and his behaviors.

What you may have missed last week...
Spotify Playlist here, remember if a band has a * next to their name it means it isn't on spotify (yet).

Recommendations of the Week

Icy Steel gets my rec

Omegakingauldron

JacksonWarrior

Bloodorn was cool, tight riffy power metal. Reminded me a bit of the non-melodeath tracks from the Paladin album. Vocals aren't perfect but still solid.
Shiver of Frontier was amazing, very obviously Galneryus influenced JPM so if you like fast shreddy neoclassical power metal, this is for you.
I'm giving Icy Steel a light rec, if you're into the more epic kind of heavy metal that's been about (Eternal Champion, Megaton Sword, Gatekeeper), you might vibe with this. I'm not sure about the single but I'm going to check out the album. Everything in this track is solid though.

2024.05.23 22:18 Civdiv99 VERY tough spot with 7 month old Corgi

VERY tough spot with 7 month old Corgi
Last summer we got a Chihuahua. Then in December another Chihuahua and Corgi, both 8 weeks old. The youngest Chihuahua and the Corgi are best buds. The 2 Chihuahuas are also. 95% of the time it’s all a happy pack. Lately the Corgi has been really aggressive with the year old Chihuahua. Scary levels. Earlier today the Chihuahua was hanging with the wife and as she tells it the Corgi went after the Chihuahua. Wife was under this and the Corgi got a pretty good bite on my wife. I get yelled at.
Quiet for an hour and the Corgi and Chihuahua just lounging together on the bed, and “bam” went at it again. I’m concerned the Corgi may really hurt or kill the Chihuahua. I CANNOT figure out what is triggering this, so I can’t prevent or control it. Yesterday same deal, we’re on the couch and instantly it was WWIII. I’m able to just physically separate them and within a minute or 2 the 2 dogs sniff at each other and go about their business. No treats or toys were involved. Last night the slept together; this morning nuzzling and Corgi on her back while Chihuahua nuzzles her floppy ears. 4 hours later the Corgi is red-zone attack.
If I can’t get ahead of this I will be forced to rehome the Corgi if only to save Chihuahua and domestic relations. This is causing a lot of family stress. The Corgi has really bonded with me and the youngest dog.
Pics of the 3; the lighter color is the one that Corgi goes after seemingly at random.

2024.05.23 18:41 Quirky9195 Can Christians play these Mobile Games?

This is going to be the last one that I had, and if one of them is not allowed as a Christian. then i’ll ask everyone “what mobile games can Christians play”?
Here’s the List:
KleptoCats: (Send your cat away to gather items to fill your room with amazing treasures. Collect hundreds of unique mischievous kitties, and watch as they decorate your home with unique collectibles from every corner of the world! Feed, wash, and pet your adorable PAW-rtners in crime to show your appreciation for their gifts!)
KleptoDogs: (Same as KleptoCats, but with dogs. And Unlock all the different breeds: pug, corgi, beagle, chihuahua, some sort of weird alien dog that shouldn't be that shade of radioactive green, etc. The list goes on. Feed them, play with them and even dress them in the cutest clothes. You'll have a blast hanging out with these puppy pals!!!)
Evolution Galaxy: (Different planets: combine mutant creatures in fox, rabbit and sloth-themed worlds, with more coming! Meet the gods: beings of galactic awesomeness are waiting to be discovered! Impostors: watch out for impostors trying to steal the spotlight from the creatures! Drag and drop similar creatures to create new mysterious mutants, Use creature eggs to earn coins, buy new creatures and make even more money. Alternatively, fiercely tap a creature to make coins pop from their eggs) (it’s like Pokémon, but you have to merge them to make them evolve)
Food Truck Pup: You can dress up the adorable pixel dogs, too. There's a Shiba Inu, a retriever, a beagle, and more. Work with the dogs to build a global crepe business. Use the money you earn to buy furniture and clothes, and decorate your crepe truck or cafe. Or maybe even Collect strawberries, bananas, and other crepe ingredients.)
Campfire Cat Cafe: (A purrfectly relaxing game! Start your cafe in the forest. Hire adorable cat staff. Cook delicious authentic foods from around the world! Attract and serve cute animal customers and laugh at their furry funny stories. Relax and earn tips as your kitten staff works while you're idle.)
Tiny Farm: (A heartwarming story with the talking sheep, Ben, Ren, Alfredo, and Amy! The unique Breeding System with Love Points. A combination of real life and fantasy! Various mystic animals. Darling designs and decorative structures mean your farm is unique and gorgeous. Enjoy a gardening life with fields, fishing boats, and squirrel's house! Visit your friend's farm to help out and share the love.)
I know it’s probably a long list but, you can read like one or two of them and say it in the comments about whether it’s a sin or not, if you want. I’m just saying that “maybe you don’t have to read the whole thing” just saying. Anyways, that’s the list for today.

2024.05.23 18:29 AmayaTheKing AITAH for wanting to bring a 6th pet into our condo?

TL;DR will be at the bottom.
My(30F) Mother(50F) passed away during Covid, she was only 50, but it wasn't unexpected. She had liver cirrhosis so bad that her kidneys were doing all the work, she ended up passing from kidney failure.
My Mom essentially lived alone with her two dogs, Bitsy and Lil' Mamas- both small Chihuahua type dogs. At the time, we moved her out of her house and into the Apartment Complex we were in to keep her close. The apartments had a 2 pet limit per apartment.
She passed away in the hospital, and for a few days we took care of the dogs in the apartment, but at the time we had 3 cats, which was already against the rules. We ended up giving the dogs back to the "original" owners, and once my brother(27M) moved out of my apartment, we were back down to two pets.
I say two pets, but it was really 3, since during this phase we adopted a Hamster named Peanut Butter in between all of this. She is about 2 and a half now.
The original family moved to New York from here in California- but one of the sons stayed behind, and he was taking care of these dogs.
This was for about 4 years now, and since then one of the dogs had passed away. The other dog whom we thought was fixed wasn't and ended up having a puppy, but the owner likes the puppy and wants to keep it, which is cool.
Since then My brother(27M) has moved back in with us, and my sister(29F) is with us as well, and it's myself(30F) and my husband(30M).
We bought a 3 bedroom condo with the money My Mom left for me, it wasn't enough and my husband had to pull early from his 401k- it was stressful, but we did it.
In that time, my sister's cat Jelli passed away at 18 years old. She was devastated, and we were in the middle of negotiating for this condo. She ended up adopting a kitten, a little one eys black cat named Button.
She was also eyeing another kitten around the same age from a coworker, and if we didn't adopt her the kitten would end up in a shelter, since she was from a stray cat who have birth in this Co workers yard.
Her name is Puff. So now we had Puff, Button, and my cat The Boi. My Boi is about 16 years old roughly.
My brother moved back in when we got the Condo, because we need his help financially, and he brought his cat who is about 7 years old- Piper.
So to tally- we have The Boi, Button, Puff, Piper, and Peanut Butter.
My Boi is free roaming around the house, he basically has the run of the place. Puff and Button get to roam during the day, but go to be with my sister so they stay in her room at night. Piper refuses to leave my brothers room, and has lots of anxiety problems, so she just chills there. Peanut Butter lives in an aquarium that is under my computer desk in the living room, I bring her out every so often so she can run around supervised.
All pets are strictly indoors. We have a small back yard and a small front yard, but it's not enclosed enough to be safe for them to be unsupervised.
We were planning on building an enclosed patio, but we recently had a pipe burst and insurance only covered a little of it, we are now trying to catch up to our debt.
However, we just recently learned that the son of the family that had my Mom's Dog, Lil' Mama's, is having trouble taking care of her.
I have always loved dogs, and I love cats. I love most animals, actually.
It turns out she lived outside in this guys yard because he is allergic to her, so she has fleas and now potentially ticks, and needs to take her to the vet to get treated. He wants to take all 3 of the dogs to get treated. Why he has e dogs when he is allergic is beyond me.
His yard isn't that big, no bigger than our. Point us, I will literally eat myself alive if I don't TRY to take the dog back. The dogs was my Mom's world, and my brother and I want to bring the dog to be with us. My husband and my sister are hesitant because of the cats.
I get it, but this is a hill I will die on.
I have always wanted a dog, this is the longest period in my life not having a dog, for 12 years. I love dogs, I want a dog, I don't think I've ever wanted anything more besides my house.
When I moved in with my husband's family it was always when we move you can have a dog, when we moved into the apartment it was always well we can only have two pets and we have Boi and Jelli, and now with the condo we have 4 stinking cats and realistically idk if everyone would get along.
I get emotional thinking about it. We all take care of the pets equally.
Am I in the wrong for trying to do this?
TL;DR
3 Bedroom Condo, 4 people, 4 cays and a Hamster. Potentially bringing in a dog. 2 people say yes, 2 people say no.
Am I the Asshole?

2024.05.23 07:53 CharlesFoxston I feel something crawling on me and causing muscle tremors and ticks everytime I begin to fall asleep or astral project

I see this spider shaped "fog" out of the corner of my eye, but I can feel like a sticky web is stuck to my foot mainly but also my legs and this entity has some sort of consciousness - crawling over me and attaching to my back. I get back pain from it around my lumbar region. When it materialises, I can see many of these entities that are about the size of a small dog (chihuahua). I know they are real because my dog starts to suddenly jump up and look around confused whenever they are around.
They first materialised around me after I was attempting Astral Projection back in 2016. I thought life was all about sensations and astral projection had no risks. However several people have told me that if you AP when you are high (especially stimulants like marching powder - especially in large amounts like 10g /day) can cause us to appear like a beacon to other spirits, and some astral creatures exist by feeding on the damaged astral body that often occurs when substance misuse is present.
I remember closing my eyes for about the 20th time and up til this point I had never had these spider entities around me. My vision was like a dark gray but I could see the outline of things in this sort of colourless substance that is iridescent at the same time as lacking any specific colour.
Anyway as I am flying, suddenly something comes right up in front of my face. All I can see is hateful eyes, and I am scared. I snap back to my body but every time I shut my eyes, this horrible inhuman yet humanoid face is there. I can only describe it as two eyes a nose and a mouth with a facial skin resembling either bark or incredibly ancient skin. The eyes are yellow and it emanates hatred.
Shit starts happening around the basement flat we live in. It was haunted anyway (we used to always see these swirling masses hovering over the bed myself and my GF slept in - with the occasional hand being visible). One night it begins to SA my GF. Every single night she has to endure the incredible delicate sensation of a hand caressing her bits. She found it pleasant and actually let it do its thing. However one time I hear her moaning and I turn over and for a split second there is this disgusting blob like thing with a male face at the top, is sitting astride her in the bed. I shout at it and in a second it vanishes.
I know people won't believe this but it is 100% true. next thing that happens is the strangest. I buy a cheap Dell laptop form a bargain laptop site. I upgrade the RAM and pay £800 for an i7 with 32GB. My girlfriend has a Dell XPS 17 that at this time in 2017 is like almost 10 years old. She has never had any issues with it, and my laptop is brand new.
2 days after it was delivered and I have been using it, I notice a black spot on the screen. I identify it as dead pixels. I have NEVER had a dead pixel in my 30 years of owning computers and many, many laptops. So the 1 dead pixel becomes 2 which becomes 4 and it keeps doubling. After 3 days, another separate dead pixel appears beside the original. Strangely its neighbours are also dying. Great I need to buy a new screen. It arrives a day later. I kid you not, 2 days later, exactly the same location, a dead pixel appears on this completely new laptop monitor. 3 days after it has spread, another location starts to fail. Over the next 2 weeks, I see the strangest thing, Some of the dead pixels seem to be back on and yet others have died. The shapes look like two little wings, but they are still changing.
A week later, I open my laptop after not using for a week, and I am shocked. I see what feels like two eyes on the screen. They look very similar to the eyes I can see still when I close my eyes. The face has stepped back a bit but it still scares me. In the end I have to close my eyes and start to try and turn my focus away from this nasty creature. As soon as I manage to do this, I hear a ping from the laptop. The screen is moving, and suddenly drops on one side. It won't close now so I have to open the laptop to see what the issue is. Turns out the left hand hinge which is like a tall letter L shape has a clean break right across it in a location that doesn't suffer from stress and shouldn't fatigue.
I order a new hinge and it arrives. As I am installing it, my girlfriend sounds angry and sighs loudly. She says her main but old Dell XPS 17 seems to be stuck in the open position. I tell her I will look when I have fixed mine. It doesn't take long, and I open up her laptop. I cannot believe my eyes - the hinge is broken in the same exact position. I show my GF who doesn't believe me asking if they are meant to be in pieces at that point. I tell her no and I order a replacement hinge for her. No sooner does the hinge arrive then the other side hinge breaks. Not in the same location but this is beyond coincidence.
There is always this feeling throughout the flat that something is walking around, and one night I am absolutely terrified because something wakes me up with footsteps approaching the bed. It is a very low down position and the room is pitch black but I can see the outline of something 8ft tall and 5 ft wide stood there, I look at where its face should be and I cannot believe what I am looking at.
I was raised by my Aunt Mary and Uncle Sid after my father committed suicide in front of 7 year old me and my 5 year old sister because I finally told someone he was doing harm to my sister. I told a teacher and in those days they didn;t call the police but the parent. They literally tell him everything I said and tell him that he needs to come in and explain the hypersexualised behaviour we are displaying. He beat the life out of me that night and the next day he keeps saying "this is your fault" and I am sobbing and my sister too. He goes upstairs and hangs himself. My sister never screamed like that ever before or since.
Anyway this is how I end up with my Aunt Mary and Uncle Sid. They had never been able to have children after my Uncle was caught in a bomb blast working during WW2 at Rolls Royce factory thanks to a lucky guess from a Nazi bomber. He retires aged 50 when the pain is too much. The doctors didn't even tell him they were going to have to remove most of his intestines and his manhood due to internal bleeding from secondary blast site damage. They are 66 and 68 when I go to live with them aged 8 It's hard because I am living a lifestyle unlike anyone else, and my aunt is so afraid for my safety that she forbids me playing out - no football or anything. I get into computers luckily and this is how I end up with a job I love in a well paying field.
Anyway I can see their faces on this thing. They are clear as day but faint. They look young - around 20 - but they have blank faces that just stare at me. I get a feeling that these are NOT my loved ones. I turn over and am so scared. I hear it moving and I can somehow tell that it is furious I have turned my back on it but it cannot directly hurt me, but I feel the mattress dip as though it is climbing on the bed. I feel a strong shove in the back and a scratch on my shoulder that stings really badly. I jump up and wouldn't you know - 3 scratch marks. The sort that they blame demons for. That;s what this feels like but when I turned, nothing is there.
It was here that I start experiencing such a strange feeling like my body is moving due to something heavy climbing up my back. I get a tickling on the top of my head. I get harassed and assailed by these spiders climbing on me. The weird thing is that after an attack, if I look around where it seemed to com, there is a spider or at least the Web.
I can pull them off me and they will freak out if I put them over a candle flame. They also flee from anything sharp like a pin.
Ultimately the issue is that whenever I try to sleep, these things appear out of thin air. There is sometimes a "web" visible again with these beings. It is iridescent yet corporeal and etheric. The web looks like no web any spider ever made. It is two dimensional - appearing like a sort of "wall" in front of you. There are multiple points on the web - like little hexagons - that appear to radiate outwards strands of web in this lattice layout.
Why can I not meditate even? Because this seems to excite them and they come out to attack you. Where they are they will always burrow.

Vosteed Corgi Trek review

Right out out of the box and I am in love! Very excited for this opportunity to review the Vosteed Corgi! They definitely take pride in their product, very well packaged, a nicely made padded carry case and microfiber cloth are protecting the sweet and sturdy green micarta brass inlayed handles! I was sent the Corgi Trek Lock with the 2.99" Black Stonewash finished drop point in 14C28N, overall it feels very sturdy in hand, not too light but not a brick for your pocket either. The pocket clip is reversible though the mirrored design seems to be pretty intuitive to open and close with both hands! Action is buttery smooth, with that satisfying locking sound we all know and love. The Blade is hair shaving sharp and has zero play when opened. Successfully passed the spine knock test while remaining fully locked. The Trek Lock button is intuitive and completely fidget friendly! I am going to replacing this as my EDC over the next week then reporting back with how it has served me in that time! Huge shout out again to u/vosteed for allowing me this opportunity 🙌 very excited to work with you guys! Thanks for checking out the post!!

Meet Simba- Carolina Dog?
So, our vet has believed Simba to be a Carolina dog for the past 5 years, not only because of his phenotype, but he acts like a coyote would act around humans. He has very high anxiety (and a prescription for trazadone for anxiety inducing times), and he throws up when he is anxious.
He tries to bury his food, and is almost always on high alert. He is very loving with us, his family, but that's it. While he has not shown aggression, only fear, we practice trigger avoidance and will put him in a crate in a quiet room if we have company over.
All of this to say, he is super high maintenance and I was not prepared, as the shelter had him listed as a golden retrievelab mix puppy- HA HA! But I love him and he is family, so we do what we need to for him to have a great life with us.
We recently took an Ancestry DNA test (free from barkbox) and it showed him being 60% chihuahua, 9% black and tan coonhound, 10% American Eskimo, and some other things (screenshot in pics). Has anyone else had similiar results? We now know that Ancestry was probably the worst DNA panel to use, but it was free since I wanted to start bark box anyway, and he loves them!
Pictures include him, he is about 45 lbs of pure muscle, and his sisters (Mochi, a beagle/retriever mix who is 60lbs and Toast, a boxe retriever mix who is 50lbs). We adopted Toast to be his therapy dog, lol, as she is chill, and taught him a bit about how to "dog."
