Like a lot of others, I am married with kids, and it isn’t quite all hunky-dory… I work from home (for years, well before the pandemic) and I am not always busy. That leaves a lot of time for me to be stuck in my own head, so I am looking for a friend who can provide a long-term distraction, both during and outside of work hours. I am not really looking to rant. I prefer chatting with someone creative, as maybe that will jumpstart a part of me that I feel I have lost.
About me… I love basketball and have season tickets to the local pro team (even though that causes me loads of heartache). I like exercise, long walks, food, TV, movies, and baseball on a nice day. I am often too sarcastic for my own good.

My cats been sick for a few year, she got pancreatitis and a liver spot from chewing the leaves off of a hungarian wax pepper plant about 4 years ago. We have had some very close calls over the years but ive always managed to get her hydrated with IV's and found foods to feed her, from baby food to pretty much every cat food i could find. I currently feed her applaws chicken and duck, and purina pro plan complete essential(she ate this just fine for anout a year but is starting to not want to touch it). Shes been losing weight slowly and is down to about 5.5 pounds from 10 pounds, her ribs are starting to show and applaws just doesnt have enough calories in it. My predicament is that she needs low fat food or else it will trigger her pancreatitis, like ANY fat food i.e a single dog kibble almost killed her. So i need to find a food that is both low fat and high calorie(that she will want to eat). Im at a loss so i cam here, please help me.
TL;DR Cat is picky about food and cant have fat in her diet due to pancreatitis and not being able to digest fats. Shes lost tons of weight and needs a good weight gainer food. Please help. 13 years old.

You get $100/hr to hang out in a room filled with cockroaches, you can stay as long as you want, there's no minimum or maximum time required. The roaches will not crawl up your body past your waist level, but should you decide to sit/lay down, they can still go to the level of which your waist would go if you were still standing. (i.e if you're 6'0 and your waist is at the 3ft mark, they won't go above 3ft, but if your head drops below the 3ft mark, it's fair game til it goes higher.)
Stipulations

1. It's a fully furnished studio apartment with kitchen, bed, bathroom, etc.
2. Should you so choose you can wear pants/boots, and tape them up so they don't get under your clothes.
3. Once you walk in the area, the time starts and continues until you walk of that area. Once you leave, it's over for good.
4. You're not allowed to have any time telling devices in the room with you, nothing in there will have a working clock, nor will there be any entertainment provided that would be able to tell you the time. (I.e you can still read books, magazines, have toys, puzzles, etc).
5. You have no communication with the outside world besides the one person who brings you food. They will not talk to you at all. Your meals are whatever you desire to eat up to 3 meals per 24hr period.
6. There is no pro-rating. If you make it 1hr and 59min, that's only $100.
7. For everyone you end up killing, another takes its place so they won't all end up being able to be killed off.
8. Added in after: If you climb on furniture, your food and entertainment requests will NOT be brought to you. You'll have to go get them from the one who brings them.

Some history: Our cat (12 or 13, f, neutered, methimazole for hyperthyroidism) began showing signs of some diarrhea, not eating weight loss just after Thanksgiving. After seeing her primary vet in early January, FortiFlora and Metronidazole were tried for diarrhea. Neither worked, nor does FortiFlora pro, and stool had become almost all liquid by early Feb. Blood work had also showed elevated heart enzymes. Ultrasound at the end of February showed HCM and a cecal mass, so she was referred to a specialty clinic.
Surgery to remove rhe mass on 3/19 confirmed high grade lymphoma. After meeting with an oncologist on 4/18, my husband and I decided on palliative care through primary vet.
She has been receiving weekly B12 injections and subcutaneous fluids since 4/19. Psyllium fiber was added, as was prednisolone. The steroid was twice a day for first week and once a day since.
B12 and steroid has been helping with vomiting until recently (diarrhea has never been able.to be controlled). I know that prednisolone as palliative care will only work for so long. My question is, as stated in the title, does vitamin B12 also lose its effectiveness over time?
(Over the past couple.of days we have been seeing less eating, though our cat has always been a picky eater, and part of me hopes she has decided she doesn't like what we've been feeding her. She'll still eat Churu and baby food.)

If you're reading this, I'm sorry you're here and going through this terrible "disease". I promise it gets better and it becomes more manageable. We tend to work our lives around this. Everyone is different and I'm just sharing part of my story that has recently come to light.
Now onto something that had recently come up at work (I work in healthcare) and some background information. I've been having a "flare up" of menieres and vestibular migraine symptoms, but have only truly been diagnosed with menieres. Prior to Covid, I had my symptoms under control and was able to eat whatever I wanted, but lived a generally healthy lifestyle. Also as someone that works in a major healthcare facility they have started mandating flu vaccines. I have always opted out of getting them until they started mandating us to get them yearly and a simple doctors note was no longer enough.
November 2021 I was given flu vaccine (normal vaccine) then in December 2021 I had my first infection of Covid 19. By January 2022 I was having a flare up of similar symptoms that I am having today. Symptoms ranging from severe vertigo (think drop attacks), slight dizziness, ringing in the ears, ear fullness, migraine, light sensitivity, and sound sensitivity. The drop attacks and any sort of vertigo would last seconds up to a minute at most. I was given a single IT steroid injection (that's what controls my MD). It didn't stop any of the vertigo I was having, but I simply would wait it out because back then I was worried that if I continued steroid injections they would one day not work at all for me. These symptoms would last till April-May 2022. Things would be under control after that.
July 2022- I get my second Covid infection and yet continued to have menieres symptoms under control.
November 2022, I decided to try to go vegan and vegetarian for awhile to see if I could eat healthier and improve some other health issues. I opted to get egg free flu vaccine. No issues and continued to have symptoms under control.
November 2023, I go to get flu vaccine and planned to get egg free version as I did previous year. I'm no longer eating vegan or vegetarian but have continued to eat a healthy lifestyle and work on just eating a balanced diet. The nurse decides to tell me I should get regular version of flu vaccine because egg free version actually has more "live" virus in it. So I take her advice and get the regular version as I did in 2021. By January 2024, my symptoms are back out of control. All the previous symptoms as I did in 2021 except I had also aura with migraine. February 2024, I received another single steroid IT injection. I also stopped hormonal birth control (due to having aura). Only thing resolved was aura and ear fullness.
It's now May and I feel my symptoms are finally starting to resolve once again. It've been over a week since I've had a drop attack. It's been 4 months since I've drove a car. I'm 4 sessions into physical therapy. Have had 1 perfect brain MRI. 3 failed migraine medications and 2 other medications I have not yet tried due to wanting to wait it out. My coworker decides to ask me about the flu vaccine and if I had it. She has severe vertigo from her flu vaccine (she doesn't have MD). This is how I have linked all this together. I will not be getting the flu vaccine anymore. I'm guessing it creates an uptick of inflammation in my body. 2025, I will fight to decline it and see if I have the same reaction next year.
We are all in charge of our health- we have to advocate for ourselves in what we feel is right for our own situation.
I'm not here to tell you to get it or not to. This is just my encounter with it. I'm not pro vaccine nor anti vaccine. I'm curious to know if anyone else here has a similar pattern of symptoms returning after vaccines or any medications? This is just some food for thought for those of you out there that are doing everything right but still not sure what's going on.

My girl was diagnosed about 6 months ago with pancreatitis, and the vet recommended switching to the hydrolyzed protein diet. I currently have her on the Purina Pro Plan Hydrolyzed dry food, and she has taken well to that and likes it.
However I want to also add wet food to her diet as well, knowing how beneficial wet food is for cats, but I am at a loss in finding a hydrolyzed wet cat food that is on the market. I was told to try the Royal Canon HP wet food, but it seems that is discontinued.
And the only hydrolyzed wet food I’m finding is from Blue Buffalo, and I’m not sure how trusting I am with that brand.
I did find that Hills makes a “Food Sensitivity” wet food, and the first ingredient is hydrolyzed chicken liver, so would that make it safe for my cat to eat? Or do I have to keep looking for the “hydrolyzed” in the food type on the front of the can?

In reintroduction and for sure messed up some stuff (dealing with stress from medical procedures so was more lax with reintroduction / trying not to stress about it on top of receiving some confusing suggestions)… will probably have to restart but also I think I have maybe figured out some stuff by messing up!
Prior to this I have been reacting negatively to every single fodmap group. I also developed stomach pain during reintroduction I never had prior to fodmap diet (yes was following the diet strictly at this time) , that didn’t seem to be correlated with the foods I was reintroducing (for example even a week or more in between reintroducing fodmap groups I would still be experiencing stomach pain). The pain didn’t correlate to my bloating (the initial symptom I had coming into this).
My dietitian suggested that I introduce a pro/pre biotic to see if this would help me. I emailed monash and they suggested to wait until after reintroduction.
As a result I thought would be good idea to start with low fodmap amounts of things like Sourkrout. I found two low Fodmap fermented foods in Whole Foods (one with green cabbage that didn’t have garlic or onion and one was beet krout which just had carrot, beet, and red cabbage). I was fine with the green cabbage one… but unclear if it caused me bloating or not but then I had an extreme reaction to the beet krout. I realized I was having a good amount of Avacado (in low formaps amounts) and papaya and upon researching am suspecting a potential histamine intolerance given the combination of these things might lead to histamine overload.
What is so confusing is that since adding in the fermented foods my stool improved drastically and my stomach pain hasn’t been present for over a week (no changes in things like caffeine intake, fiber intake etc).
Anyone have a similar experience??
I have a feeling I need to trial low histamine diet but I’m also confused by these conflicting effects . The brain fog is truly debilitating (feels like I took a bunch of drugs and I’m in a video game… not helpful for my job). I have been experiencing the brain fog intermittently for the past year or so and it does seem to be related to what I’m eating . I also have a condition (MS) that can effect things like this but my Ms specialists believe my food intolerances are a big driver is these symptoms.
I also noticed that I have dry spot on my two fingers/ knuckles that began around the time of my gut dysbiosis (at least a year or two ago). This also aligns with histamine intolerance and does not align with ms.
Fodmap seems to help with the bloat but not everything

Hello fellow dog owners! We have been feeding our 6 month old Boxer puppies Lamb and Oatmeal Purina Pro Plan; the puppy version. However, around the last few months on chewy it’s been out of stock online, as well as Petco, and Petsmart only had 3 in store. After this we found they have all been out of stock. Fortunately, there is the Lamb and Rice, but the Lamb and Oatmeal puppy food was really good for them. Then during the winter I tried bulking-I tried to do it as clean as possible, getting to 90kg in 3rd photo in february. I didnt feel as good-I felt fat. Maybe I didnt eat enough protein, maybe I didnt train hard enough, Im not making any excuse ofcourse the fualt is in me, I just dont want to try bulk again. I accept my body shape, I gotten a bit V-shape and a little definition and Im fine with being a skinny dude. I have a clear purpose, I dont want be a huge muscular guy, I am realistic and I want that surfer dude type of body, for which I have to lower my body fat. I`ve gotten to about 20% at the end of my so called bulk, and now I`m at about 15-16%. I know its just a number and its more important how you feel and actually look. So I`d love to get advice and how to get rid of that remaining body fat around the belly - if I starve extremely, I would lose more muscle mass. Which foods should I totally avoid. I`m 36 and I dont have pro ambitions, so I want to have a beer and a pizza once a week. Now Im at 84kg, and I think I look pretty close to the second photo (also the top row are made with different camera so that may also make a difference)

• breakfast - sometimes I dont have any if I dont feel hungry, but usually its something with bread/wheat.
• lunch - chicken/pork, prepared at home
• salad and cheese apetisers.

I dont eat almost any sweets, very rarely. I dont drink coke and carbonated drinks. My big problem is bread/wheat products - pizza, burgers etc. I just fucking love them, but try to have them for breakfast or lunch at latest, never for dinner.
Should I drink plenty of water - I drink usually about a 1-1.5 liter a day, most of it from carbonated water (I`ve read that it doesnt have calories so you dont get fat from it)
Another issue - I drink a glass or two in the evening. I know the bad sides of alcohol, I`m not an alcoholic cause I can pause it any time I want, I can limit it, I`ve done it before. Should I completely stop it ot get to my goal, or I can still have a glass every other day?

Wanted to share my top 5 recommendation list. Having lived here for about 30 years, here are the best spots to visit, whether you're traveling or a local. I've included a range of options from cheap eats to fine dining.

1. Chef Tally's - I've binge eaten at least 50+ jamaican restaurants, and while this isn't your typical traditional jamaican spot, this is hands down one of my favorite places in south Florida. I dream about the chicken here. It's always a candidate for my "what should I eat this weekend" thoughts.
2. Mila Sunday Brunch - $95 for all you can eat cinco jota jamon iberico, black caviar, and a ton of other creatively prepared dishes. I've had a few of the other brunchs in south florida, like edge, novikov, etc. but this one gets the thumbs up because they actually have more unique spreads and appetizers. Pro tip, they have a cheese wheel pasta and mojito station outside. Did I mention the price includes unlimited champagne and rose?
3. Palacio de los Jugos - this is a staple of south florida cuisine. I might get some flack for having this on my list, but amongst all the cuban and latin spots I've been to across Hialeah and Miami, I always find myself back here grabbing a meal for like $7 and juice for $3!
4. Stubborn Seed - I haven't gone since they've gotten their Michelin Star, but I used to frequent this place. What sets the tasting menu at stubborn seed apart in my opinion is the almagamation of dish pacing, food sourcing/creativity, and lineup of ingredients. I don't think there's a singular dish that really sets this restaurant apart from the rest of the modern fine dining options, but more so a extremely well presented and curated dining experience.
5. Anita Gelato. This spot recently opened in Aventura coming from NYC. It's not a super traditional italian/argentiniam gelato, but the flavor combinations are the best I've ever had. And it's not too sweet. My favorite ice cream/froyo/gelato spot amongst the hundreds I've been to in SoFlo.

Honorable mention goes to Kaeru Sushi for bringing great quality japanese food for an affordable price.* A little extra. South Florida has EXCELLENT latin american food(peruvian, argentinian, columbian, etc.), mediterranean, israeli/jewish delis, italian, caribbean, and much more. ANALYSIS:

• FX analysis:
• We see looking at EURUSD that skew is v elevated as IV is elevated on calls vs puts.
• EURUSD is stuck under 1.08 but traders are looking for a break towards 1.09. Note that traders seem to be pricing in softer inflation data. If PPI comes hot and CPI too tomorrow, we can see strong downward move in EURUSD as traders are seemingly complacent from positioning on soft inflation data
• BTC:
• BTC positioning shows traders sell calls. Skew points downward. Can see some pressure for this OPEX as a result, but should push up after that. Hence why price is lower in premarket.

• Range bound as traders waiting for US economic data this week. But skew is still pointing higher. Buyer momentum is higher, so it is positioned for a move higher but I suppose traders hold their breath waiting for the data.
• Silver:
• Looks like can continue higher. Skew is higher, IV change is rising.
• Calls on 28 adn 29 are the main options.

• USDJPY - gamma wall at 157C. Can get stopped there, before move higher after. Positioning on JPY v bearish.

• Japan PPI:
• YOY came 0.9% vs 0.9% forecast, last month was revised to 0.9% YOY too.
• So is gradually increasing since November.
• German Final inflation revision showed no change to preliminary reading. Confirmed the prelim reading. inflation of 2.2% vs 2.2% last time.
• UK EMPLOYMENT DATA
• 178k people got laid off in the last month, less than the 215k expected.
• More than the 156k last month.
• So labour market is continuing to weaken.
• Unemployment rate rose to 4.3% in line with expectations. Highest reading in over a year.
• Average earnings still came hot though, at 5.7% growth YOY vs 5.3% forecasted. Last month was 5.7% YOY.
• Average earnings growth has come down a lot though in the last year and is now near yearly lows of growth.
• So UK labour market data showed weakening of labour market.
• EURO ZEW Economic Sentiment index:
• Came 47 vs 46.1 expected.
• Highest economic sentiment reading in over a year.
• Economic sentiment in Eurozone continues to improve.
• German economic sentiment index came 47.1 vs 46 expected. Highest in a year.
• US PPI Data
• Fed’s Powell is due to speak at 10am, unlikely to say anything in particular.

MARKETS:

• Markets are flat, waiting for PPI.
• SPX trading flat around the levels it was at yesterday, ahead of PPI. Market waiting for PPI
• Nasdaq: 18,200. Trading flat around these levels.
• DJI flat at 39.5k
• GEr40: Trading flat at the highs, trading at 18,700.
• HKG trading lower by 0.8%. Tested close to 19k and held.
• OIL trading flat the last week or so around 77-79.
• GOLD: trading flat at 2,344.

FX:

• GBP down due to weak employment data, which points to firstly, rate cuts being on the horizon, and weakness in UK economy.
• Also down because BOE’s Pill says that Rate cut is likely to come under consideration in Summer, after employment data. Gilts are up in UK as a result. V explicit mention of rate cuts to come.
• Recovered somewhat with EURO which headed higher after ZEW Economic survey
• Yen continues weakness after failed intervention
• DXY flat ahead of PPI
• EURUSD trading t the 1.08 resistance
• AUDUSD trading at 0.66. Still stuck under the downtrend trend line.

• EPS of 10.14 vs 10.21 expected. Miss by 0.7%
• Revenue of 221.8B beat by 1%. Up 6% YOY
• Adjusted EBITDA was 30.81B yuan, beat by 1.4%
• Segment revenue:
• Taobao group was 93B, beat estimates by 1%, down 28% QOQ
• Cloud intelligence was down 8% QOQ
• Local services group revenue was 15B Yuan

• MSFT - OPENAI announcements yesterday:
• Releases voice assistant, which acts as a translator in real time.
• OpenAI GPT 4o which is faster, omnimodel and easier. It will launch on desktop version too. Said this model will be available for free.
• Showcased use of AI for tutoring.
• Announced they have over 100m+ users using chatGPT worldwide.
• TSLA - rehires their key Supercharger Team, reversing recent cuts.
• GOOGL, AMZN - Anthropic, which is backed by these companies is launching its GenAI chatbot Claude throughout europe including EU countries Switzerland and Iceland.
• GOOGL - has their own IO developer event today. Is expected to showcase its latest AI tools and AI linked enhancements to products.

• Meme stock rally this morning continues.
• US small business index ahead of expectations, but much below the historically average level. Cost pressures remain the main issue as many small businesses still raise wages to retain workers.Inflation still the main issue for small businesses in US, but less so than before.
• Yesterday’s trading saw the lowest volume day since Thanksgiving 2023. This is as traders await the key economic news coming out this week.
• Yesterday saw inflation expectations rise for next year to 3.3%, highest since November 2023.
• From the data this morning then, we can see that the macro trends are:
