New on this rep journey ? How to communicate with sellers

2023.05.11 07:58 silver-surferFr New on this rep journey ? How to communicate with sellers

I posted this on other rep forums, but since a few days, I've seen questions here on how to communicate, and what to expect when buying reps. Hope this helps!
First of all always remember that sellers are not your penpals or friends. Messages between you and a seller are a business transaction.
Use your supplier’s first name. Everyone has a name and likes when you use it. Their first name is not “Hi”.
Use simple english, no slang, jargon, and cutesy phrases. Avoid abbreviations. Do you want your seller scratching his head and wasting time searching for an abbreviation ? Local speak does not translate well and it will add clutter to your message. Be mindful of the fact that your english can be misunderstood otherwise.
Use words such as: I confirm that I want to buy this bag… or when QCing : the quality of this bag is rejected or I accept the quality of this bag. Simple phrases ! Avoid contractions. Instead of “don’t, can’t and shouldn’t”, use do not, cannot and should not.
Chinese sellers typically read whatsapp messages in a flurry of an overview and very few of your questions will be digested. If you ask 3 questions, it’s common that the seller will answer your first question and ignore the others.
If some questions can wait, hold them until a follow-up message.
Putting too many questions in a single message will be fruitless.
Do not ask about 5 or 6 bags in the same message. You won’t get an answer on all those bags at once. Sellers get asked so many prices on a daily basis from potential clients and they know that finally many do not order.
Speak politely, direct,to the point. Send a photo of the bag that you want. If you know the factory you want, tell them and send a factory picture. If you don’t know, send a picture of the authentic. Confirm the size in cm. NOT in inches. It’s much easier for sellers to find your bag if cm is stated rather than "the large Chanel 19".
Tell the seller if you want high tier, middle tier or low tier quality. If you don't know, ask them the difference between 2 qualities.
Do not take silence as agreement or confirmation. If the supplier did not acknowledge your last message, then it’s very likely they don’t understand or entirely missed the point. You will need to reconfirm with him.
The seller may not answer you immediately, there is a time difference with China, it may be a chinese holiday, or simply he read your message and forgot to answer, wait a day and ask again.
If you need to talk about dates, spell out your dates. May 18 instead of 5/18 as the Americans write or 18/5 as the Europeans write. The Chinese write their dates like 2015/18/05 (understood as 2015年5⽉月15⽇日) – see where the confusion may be?
Answer your sellers questions with a complete sentence
bad example :
Seller : Is this the correct color ?
You : no, that’s not correct …… (now your seller as to search for previous information if he has time)
Good example :
Seller : Is this the correct color ?
You : No, here is the correct color (re-explain the correct color, resend photo)
If something goes wrong ? Never use sarcasm in a message to your China seller. It will cause misunderstandings and time loss. Even worse, what may be considered as harmless sarcasm from your side may be unprofessional mocking from their point of view.
Here is how to contact a new seller. This is how I write to them:
Greetings : Hello (name of seller)
Explain how you found him ( Reddit, LuxeLife, friend)
Tell him in which country you live
Send the complete name of the bag
Send a photo of the bag ( authentic or rep) If you send the photo of the rep, the seller will recognize the background and will know which factory it comes from.
Confirm the size in cm. NOT in inches. It’s much easier for sellers to find your bag if cm is stated rather than "the large Chanel 19".
Ask price
WAIT for answer and photos. He will send you one or multiple factory photos with price.
Then say thank you
Ask what factory? If needed, now ask if it is high quality, or mid tier ?
WAIT for answer
Ask if shipping is included, if not, how much is shipping ?
What type of shipping does he use for your country ?
WAIT for answer
Ask how he wants you to pay, he will probably say Paypal friends and family.
Ask if he sends preshipment photos (PSP)
If you decide to wait, just say Thank you, I will think about it and let you know later
If you decide to buy the bag, tell him that you want to buy this bag. He will ask for your name and address. Send him now your name and address, and phone number.Tell him that you are making the payment now. Copy and send him the proof of your Paypal transaction.
Meanwhile, copy all the factory pictures thqt you've received, and also search and copy somewhere all authentic pictures you can find of this bag. You will need them to do your own QCing.
Wait a few days, sometimes it can be a week or more, to receive PSPs. Don’t worry, you will get them.
When they come, say Thank you, I will closely look at the photos.
Compare these photos to the ones you have ( auth or rep) copied and pasted in a file. If possible, open up the photos in an app like Photofiltre, Paint shop pro or other, and compare them side by side.
Tell your seller in a simple sentence that you like this bag, that you confirm the quality, and that he can send it to you. example; Good to ship
Another good tip is to Translate your message in chinese. Then do the opposite, and see if it still makes sense. If your seller isn't fluent in english, he is probably using a translation app. This is a great translation app, I find it better than google translate
https://www.deepl.com/translator
Run your message in this and translate to chinese. Then do the opposite, and see if it still makes sense.
There you go, it’s very easy, and I’m sure that there are more experienced rep buyers here that will add their advice.
I remember when I first started on this repjourney, I was so stressed on how to contact and what to write to a seller. I kept putting it off, and wished I knew someone who was at ease to see me through ! I really hope this post will help all the new people to start on the repjourney !

Removing background behind a character
Hi,
I have a request, which is trivial for someone with photoshop experience IMO. I'd like to crop the background and replace with transparency on this image :
https://preview.redd.it/lsxtcw6otsn41.jpg?width=676&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=f8fd3f81932a2ffc7a2620c056e686769ec7b3ac
FYI, this is Didier Lallemand, he is the head of Paris+surroundings law enforcement and general safety. My skill with cropping does not exceed using the automatic function in photofiltre, which is struggling to keep this nice guy's epaulets and white shirt in the picture.
BONUS : if you guys know any good tutorial to crop characters or objects with photofiltre, I'd be happy to go RTFM. I only found ressources with photoshop or gimp so far
Thank you in advance

2013.12.06 07:16 dahkross Pretty damn specific, prepare your anus [$800-$1000 CAD]

Hello community, my name is not SivHD, but hello anyways. (Sorry, had to do it)
Uninteresting background story leading up to why I'm here
ATM I'm using an "HP G61 Notebook PC" laptop. I've had it since 2009 for free from Telus. Since then its gotten some problems.
-I thought the screen had broken one day but on closer inspection, I could still see images on the screen. They were just extremely dark. Online research told me that there was a problem with the backlight. So I now have the screen bent over my hands while I look over it to see an external screen.
-It's own fan alone isn't good enough anymore. So I would have to leave my friends in the middle of a game with a swear word and an heads up that "I'm overheating" before cutting off and facing a black screen.
-There was a problem with the battery and it drained too quickly after that so I chose to just take it out and keep the laptop forever plugged in.
-I've done a factory reset a couple times. (If that has any significance)
-And if memory serves me correct I might have seen blue on the screen before. Or it might have just been a really bad dream.
So after all this time I've had with it, its been through a lot and it is time to let it rest. (teardrop)
Now what am I hoping to accomplish with this post?
I want a replacement. Finally! What I currently have doesn't deal too well with gaming; like I said, it loves getting heated up. I will be starting from SCRATCH pretty much except some peripherals (listed in the question below). I'd like my new machine to stick around for as long as my current one (5~ years) or more (or at least upgradable).
Your mission
Your help in all this, as you are all experienced, is to /BUILDAPCFORME ! That is all gentlemen. Let's work to reach the day hearing that glorious beep.
Your info!
What will you be doing with this PC?
-Gaming. MMORPGs: MapleStory, DragonNest. MOBA: League of Legends. FPS: Left 4 Dead. Sometimes I'll play Runescape to see what what's new and 10mins later wonder why I'm running around talking in flashy fonts (if they still do that) I'll pick up an FPS like Battlefield (MAX settings is a PLUS)
-Internet browsing (Chrome/Firefox) multiple tabs for researching, emailing, Social media, Youtube (watching lots and will upload but rarely), reddit, and you know the never ending internet rabbit hole during 3am nights.... ugh
-Easy word possessing
-Watching hours of anime (rom/coms, action, tentacles.... HAHAHA you name it!)
-Once in a while amateur video/music editing and rendering (Sony Vegas)
-Simple photo editing (photofiltre, Gimp)
-Online purchases, banking, bills
-Torrenting GBs of files once in a while
-Transferring files/information to phone (Nexus 4) and back
-Some nights I'll leave the PC on to download/install/defrag. The time consuming stuff
What is your maximum budget before rebates/shipping/taxes?
-I was thinking $600, but research and gut instincts tell me I'm gunna need to shell out $800-900 (Max $1000 it's ok to go a little over)
When do you plan on building/buying the PC?
-No rush, although it would make a nice New Year's present for myself! And the feels of completing a great accomplishment. If there are any advantages to be taken of during the holiday season then I'll gladly welcome them. But as I said, no rush. You ppl must be busy during this holiday season as well and I'm only assuming a lot of ppl like me will be posting for a gift to someone or themselves.
What, exactly, do you need included in the budget? OS, peripherals, wifi, in addition to the tower.
-No wifi, things get wired!
-Starting from scratch, need (but I'm not sure if I'm listing all the correct necessities):
-regular sized case that lasts forever (or close to it). Easy to open/slide. LED is cool too.
-OS Win. 7 Home Premium
-CPU (Intel, 4 core, 3.0 Ghz or more)
-Air Cooler should be ok but what do I know
-Nice graphics card
-Motherboard
-RAM sticks 8GB should be fine amirite?
-Hard Drive SATA: music, video storage (I've been living off of 300GB up until the external HD so 1TB should be fine)
-Power supply
-Optical drive (or it might be something else, but) allows me to watch DVDs and play steins;gate
-Wide screen monitor, supports 1080 (19-23" whichever gets most bang for buck)
-Wired Keyboard (QWERTY with a number pad on the right)
Which country will you be purchasing the parts in?
-Vancouver BC, Canada....eh? I have BestBuy, FutureShop, NCIX, and Online Shopping.
If reusing any parts (including peripherals), what parts will you be reusing?
-Wireless Mouse (HP)
-1TB External Hard drive (WD)
-Headphones (Sony)
Here's a picture bc i forgot the models
Will you be overclocking? If yes, are you interested in overclocking right away, or down the line? CPU and/or GPU?
-Not just yet. Maybe in future upgrades and when I get more tech savvy.
If there's any specific features you want/need from the rig, please list them.
-A couple USB ports (one as 3.0 is nice too). More is always welcome!
Do you have any specific case preferences such as a window or LEDs, or do you have a preference for low-noise components?
-Regular sized tower that lasts forever. Yes see-thru window. LED is a want
Do you already have a legit
-No, Win 7 Home Premi
And if someone can point me towards anything that can help me get a better understanding of the differences between computer parts (one CPU from another, one graphics card vs the next) that would be sweet! Whether it be an internet link or a store, or a book! So that I can be more independent to make my build my own PC next time... or fail and post about it and come crawling back for help.
I don't demand it, but I DEMAND that with the money I'll be shelling out for this PC better BE JUSTICE
Edit: words
