Ultracet compared to endocet

Clinic that will prescribe strong painkillers?

2022.12.30 20:18 dansknorge Clinic that will prescribe strong painkillers?

Do you know of any clinics that will write a prescription for Ultracet (paracetemol/tramadol) if I have a similar prescription from back home?
I just tried some Ultracet and quite like them compared to the stronger ones I usually get at home.
Wanted to take some with me home, but don't want to be smuggling.

2021.09.30 07:19 beepboop_87 Herniated L4-L5 and pregnancy from HELL

I have been dealing with a herniated disc injury throughout my pregnancy. 5 months before my pregnancy, I injured my spine carrying my toddler out of his crib. After 2 months of physiotherapy, I finally got an MRI, took Naproxen and the symptoms started to subside. When I was more or less feeling 80% of my old self I got pregnant.
The 1st trimester went by with the usual morning sickness with minor sciatica and stiff muscles. By the time the second trimester came along, I was on paracetamol every other day because of the firing pain down my leg and burning piriformis. I saw a physiotherapist to help with the piriformis syndrome but sciatica persisted.
Over the next few months, I saw several physiotherapists, chiropractors, acupuncturists, and nothing helped. Finally, we resorted to visiting a neurosurgeon and a pain doctor but nobody wanted to touch me. No MRI, no steroid shots, and no medication other than paracetamol. As I got bigger the pain increased exponentially. I bought a pregnancy pillow and a TENS machine. It would only help slightly get me through the next hour. I was then diagnosed with gestational diabetes. I watched my diet to make sure I didn’t gain too much weight hoping that it would also help my sciatica.
From 7 months onwards I could only lay on my stomach with several cushions to prop me up. I couldn’t take care of my 2.5-month toddler at all. He couldn’t even sit on my lap because sitting was too painful. I couldn’t sit to eat a meal. I was lying on my stomach or in cat/cow to eat. I didn’t leave the house unless it was a doctor's appointment. Even then, I had to take 2 paracetamol tablets to get out of the house. At 30 weeks I ordered a pair of crutches. It was the only way to get around the house. By 36 weeks I could no longer sleep at night. I would wake up at 3 am crying into my pillow. 3 hours later I would sleep for another hour due to exhaustion. My poor husband would have to wash my hair and soap my body in the shower while I leaned on the crutches.
The orthopedic surgeon strongly suggested I go for a c-section. Pushing with an epidural could make my nerve pain worse. I was so disappointed because I delivered my firstborn naturally and it was a pleasant and easy birth. After weeks of sadness over my c-section, I finally saw the light through my misery. I could now choose a date, organize care for my son, prepare my house and plan everything before the baby arrived.
At 37 weeks we visited by the doctor and he suggested I get the baby out at 38 weeks because I was looked so miserable and in pain. We checked into the hospital at 5 am on Friday, September 24th. As I lay there on the operating table with the spinal anesthesia kicking in, I finally felt relief from the pain that had been giving me hell for months.
My beautiful baby girl was born at 8.12 am weighing 2.5kg. She was small but perfect. 12 hours after the anesthesia wore off, I couldn’t even feel my c-section incision. The pain that was bothering me was still my firing nerves. I lay in the hospital bed for 48 hours after my surgery unable even to sit up and pour myself a glass of water. With the diligent care of the nurses and my wonderful husband, I managed to finally stand up on day 3 post-surgery.
The orthopedic surgeon came on day 2 and recommended another MRI and a pethidine shot in my butt to ease the pain temporarily. Compared to my previous MRI last year, my disc herniation was much worse. The top view shows that the disc bulge is covering the right side nerve completely. They then sent a physiotherapist to my hospital bed on the day of discharge to give me stretches during my recovery.
I am now 1-week post-surgery and on Arcoxia and Ultracet to manage the pain. I will see the orthopedic surgeon again in 2 weeks to follow up.
I can stand (hallelujah!) and walk. I can sit for short periods of time. My nerve still hurts when I sit to breastfeed my baby. It hurts when I pump or lie down and my entire right side leg and toes are still numb but it's improved greatly. I don’t know whether I will need a steroid shot soon or even surgery, but I’m thankful my pregnancy has ended. I hope other pregnant ladies with sciatica know that there is a light at the end of the tunnel. You might get sick of laying there helpless, but once the baby is out, you’ll have a new addition to the family and the symptoms will slowly subside.

2017.09.23 08:05 freakfingers12 Motivational post: 4 days post op ACLr using Hamstring Tendon

Hello fellow ACL seniors and juniors. I had my ACL reconstructed on 20th Sept 2017 and it has been 4 days since. I am putting up my updates here as the posts here had been incredibly helpful (sort of scary sometimes) during my pre-surgery. If you'd liked to know what happened to me and what I did before surgery, please head on to my blog: https://wenuance.wordpress.com/
What I had: I am 25 years old and have a torn ACL in the left knee along with some meniscus tear (menisectomy) and I've decided to use my Hamstring Tendon as the new graft with tibial insertion.
Day 1 (The day of the surgery)
Operation at 10.30AM and finished at 2PM. They didn't give me any femoral block so immediately when I wake up, I could feel the whole thing. It's good to be alive. Pushed back to the ward and continued to sleep until 6PM. Light eating, no appetite, still drowsy from the general anesthesia and peeing in a bottle. Pain levels: 5 after surgery, 2 throughout the day. Prescribed with Pethidine and Arcoxia which quite frankly doing good on my body. Ice the whole night.
Day 2 (still in the hospital)
Woke up a few times at night but no pain. Doctors came and checked my leg. Very happy that I had full extension and could lift up my legs. Doctors told me to walk without crutches or braces. At first, I was afraid to step down but then decided to go ahead. Surprised that I could walk without any help. Realised if I stretched before putting my foot down, the pain is lesser. During PT session, achieved 90 degrees flexion. Was allowed to go home but doctor wanted to keep me for another day. Pain levels during PT is 4 and throughout day is 2. Had 3 jabs of pethidine and 1 pill of arcoxia.
Day 3 (home sweet home)
Happy to go home but nurses didn't give me pethidine or ice in the morning because I was checking out. Eventually checked out at 3.30PM due to management delays and I didn't even get my lunch. Getting cranky! But the physio is going really well. Going home felt good. Going upstairs by sitting through each steps. Hurts a little. Pain levels around 3 at stairs, throughout day around 2. I am really surprised I don't have much pain even without ice or pethidine aside from 1 pill of arcoxia in the morning. At night before sleep, I tried the prescribed painkiller Ultracet (tramadol), doesn't really work on my body and I couldn't sleep. Not going to use it anymore.
Day 4
Feeling motivated at home. Woke up early to do my physio, had a good meal and passed motion. Stomach is clean from painkillers. I am only going to take 1 pill or arcoxia and antibiotics from now onwards since I have not much pain, just swelling a little. I can bear full weight since the second day and need not use braces or crutches which eases going around the house. Pain levels at day 4 is around 1 to 2 only.
For those of you who are in the dilemma to decide whether to do the surgery or not, I am here to tell you do not let surgery scared you off. My previous injury hurts so much more than after the surgery. During PT, I do not feel much pain either as compared to before surgery. It felt as if my knee is clean on the inside after the surgery. If you want to know more about what my pre-rehab exercises was like, visit my blog. I'll be updating soon.
