2024.05.19 07:53 fabulouslasvegasesco Diamond Reserve Overview and Operations

I wanted to share a bit about how Diamond Reserve operates, as we've had quite a few inquiries recently. Here’s a rundown of our process and how we ensure the quality and authenticity of our diamonds:
1. Sourcing Our Diamonds: We purchase our diamonds from a variety of reputable lab-grown diamond producers and distributors located across Europe. We specifically select 1-carat excellent or rare cut round diamonds that are 100% authentic and certified by the International Gemological Institute (IGI). Each diamond we acquire has an engraved serial number, adding a layer of security and authenticity.
2. IGI Certification: The IGI certification process involves a comprehensive examination and evaluation of each gemstone. This includes assessing the stone's color, clarity, cut, and carat weight, as well as any treatments or enhancements. The thoroughness of this grading process ensures that our diamonds meet the highest standards of quality.
3. Secure Storage: Our diamonds are stored securely in various banks across Europe. This not only ensures their safety but also allows us to manage our inventory efficiently.
4. Diamond Redemption and Shipping: When a diamond is redeemed, we retrieve it from the secure storage and arrange for shipping via DHL courier services. Given the complexities involved in handling and transporting diamonds, the process from redemption to shipping can take anywhere from 5 to 30 days. Delivery to your specified location can take an additional 2 to 45 days, depending on various factors.

2024.05.19 07:53 fabulouslasvegasesco How Diamond Reserve Ensures Quality and Security

I wanted to give you an inside look at how Diamond Reserve ensures the quality and security of our diamonds. Here’s a detailed breakdown of our operations:
Sourcing: Our diamonds are sourced from a network of lab-grown diamond producers and distributors across Europe. We focus on acquiring only 1-carat excellent or rare cut round diamonds that are IGI certified and have engraved serial numbers. This selection process ensures that every diamond we handle is authentic and of the highest quality.
Certification: Each diamond we sell comes with an IGI certification. This certification involves a meticulous grading process that examines the diamond's color, clarity, cut, and carat weight, as well as any treatments or enhancements. The IGI’s rigorous standards help us guarantee that our diamonds are both genuine and valuable.
Storage: Once sourced, our diamonds are securely stored in various banks throughout Europe. This not only protects them but also allows us to manage our inventory with utmost precision and security.
Shipping Process: When a customer redeems a diamond, we retrieve it from our secure storage and ship it using DHL courier services. Due to the complexities of handling and transporting diamonds, the initial processing period can range from 5 to 30 days. 2024.05.19 07:31 lumpia23 LiftMaster MyQ

I recently moved in to a new home with a liftmaster myq garage door opener. On my iPhone (15, updated to latest iOS), the myQ app detects the device and connects via bluetooth successfully, once it reaches the network stage, it lists all my wifi networks and when I try to connect to my 2.4ghz (wpa2) network, it immediately fails and asks me to try again.
I’ve restarted my router, reset the wifi settings on the garage door opener, but still no luck..
I have however successfully managed to get the solid green light by connecting the GDO via 192.168.10.1, it worked flawlessly but still cannot manage to get it working on the app. It does not give me an option to enter serial number (2020 model)
Any help would be appreciated.

2024.05.19 07:23 HeyItzGabbyyy Some dude in my room faked his testing form

According to him he bought answers to form I or A or something like that, but we had form O as usual. So he purposefully crumpled up his AP ID labels, test label, and wrote in the wrong form on the back of the answer sheet where it says “AP Exam I’m Taking.” He also left the bubble field for the booklet serial number blank. He’s dumb bro he’s gonna get caught.

Hey everyone, I only have very limited experience with reading HDD/SSD health. My mothers laptop is running like a vic20 attempting to load Crysis 3. Can anyone let me know how her drive is fairing? Looking at getting her a new one anyway but if it only needs a replacement then that’s a better option :) Thanks!

2024.05.19 06:21 Oxxidation Horrifying Mix up after iPhone repair. Tips for next time?

I got my iPhone repaired at an Apple Store, they made me reset and delete all esims.
I get the phone back, restore it from a backup, try to set up cellular by scanning the eSIM code, it says eSIM is invalid.
I click “set up through existing line”, the option now appears on my iPhone to set up cellular, I set it up but it never connects.
It took me 5 hours of chat and transfers up to the highest supervisor AFTER they successfully transferred someone else’s number to me, but still couldn’t put mine back on the phone. It was like the old IMEI was hard stuck to that number but still trying to register with mine.
The entire time, I had to have both my parents phones since Verizon won’t let me put my phone number (I’m a manager) on my phone without me having another persons phone on the same plan. God forbid I ever have an individual plan then I won’t ever be able to have service again after a repair.
What can I do if I have another repair? Should I contact Verizon first and try to put it on my new IMEI? But I can’t contact them if my parents phones aren’t readily available. After many many failed setups, eventually a new agent got on, said “can you text now?” And it worked instantly. I still have no idea how this happened since I’m sure Verizon customers have AppleCare appointments all the time.
Horrifying. Now my grandfather doesn’t have a phone number because they put his on top of my “infinite loop registering” sim and had to remove it. Just tips for my phone number to stay in tact next time? How can I put service back on my phone without having to have another account managers phone in my hand for hours for constant verification codes?

Hi everyone, I am located in NSW Australia for a side note on location specifics if any apply to this problem.
I’m just trying to check my 2007 Honda Jazz GD3 for recalls and the VIN keeps coming back invalid. I tried buying a REVS check to confirm the letters and number on the metal plate and the sticker above it were correct which they all were I have used all zeros and changed the 5 in my VIN to “S” to see if it was a typo but no dice.
Has anyone got any ideas?

How do you feel about AI as one step in a process?
AI as one step in a workflow
Came across this and I was struck by the very noncontroversial use of AI art - one or two steps in the process (quick mask, image extension), obviously very useful and time-saving.
A lot of people called for a boycott of Adobe over including these tools, but here we see them being extremely useful. I think it would be difficult for anyone to argue with this application as invalidating the artistic end result.

2024.05.19 04:59 man_mel Domain-Driven Design and mathematical modeling

The article will show analogies between Domain-Driven Design and mathematical modeling

Mathematical modeling

Students are introduced to mathematical modeling in a school. Roughly speaking, it is the translation of a problem from informal human language into the language of mathematics for subsequent solution.
(1)
John and Bob ate three apples at dinner. John ate twice as many as Bob. How much did each eat?
(2)
Let x be the number of apples that John ate Let y is the number of apples that Bob ate.
Then:
(3)
x + y = 3 x = 2 * y
Solving the system of linear equations:
x = 2, y = 1
(1) - problem statement in the domain area
(2) - mathematical modeling
(3) - mathematical model
Another example from the world of physics - we need to calculate how much fuel is needed to fly to the Moon and back. There are Newton's Laws of motion of celestial bodies, there are data on fuel, the vehicle, the mass of the Earth, the Moon, the Sun, the calculated trajectory and other information.
The whole power of the mathematical apparatus is the absence of semantics. It doesn't care whether it's counting apples or the trajectory of a rocket. It is a formalized system that operates with soulless symbols according to established rules. Arithmetic has its own rules, algebra has its own rules, Euclidean geometry has its own rules.
The achievements of the natural sciences depend on how accurately and completely they construct mathematical models for their problems. If the mass of the moon is not specified, it will be impossible to give an answer to the above problem. On the other hand, if the proposed trajectory is mathematically unattainable, physicists will have to change it.
A mathematical model is a general projection of the problem to be solved from the physics side and the math side into some "common" space.

Domain-driven design

This methodology was proposed 20 years ago by Eric Evans in his famous “big blue book”: Domain-Driven Design: Tackling Complexity in the Heart of Software
For many, DDD is when if you are, for example, making an online store, you must have Product, ShoppingCart, etc. classes, i.e., entities in the code must correspond to business entities. This is not really about DDD.
The main goal that Eric Evans set when creating his methodology was to enable you to create a program architecture in such a way that you can satisfy the client's requirements with maximum probability and build a clear, maintainable and extensible system. Get a quality and successful program product.

Comparison of design methods

DDD is mainly aimed at complex non-typical tasks with vague/varying requirements, to minimize the risks of spending a lot of time and money and not getting something usable in the end.
In cascade development (waterfall), the client gives clear requirements to the business analyst, the system architecture is built according to them, and programmers make code according to it.
In agile development (agile, XP, iterative) the client gives general requirements, a prototype of the system architecture is built on them, programmers make code on it, the system is shown to the client, corrections are made, the next version is released, etc. in a circle.
In case of DDD the joint work between domain area specialists and programmers goes all the time of development. The link between them is the domain model and ubiquitous language. For the first few chapters of the book, Eric Evans talks only about them and their importance.
The main point of the domain model is to be a constant projection of the problem being solved from the client side and the developer side into some common space. Everything in the domain model should be reflected in the program architecture. And vice versa - if a programmer discovers that some business rule cannot be applied or it is better to do it differently, he is obliged to open a discussion about it and initiate changes in the domain model, without making attempts to simply code it in “the right way”.
The domain model itself lacks semantics, it is written using UML diagrams and formal documentation. Semantics is given to it by a ubiquitous language in which the whole team (including the client) communicates. Each term of the domain model must be understood equally by all participants.

Parallels

Analogy to the space flight example above: - math model = domain model - physics = ubiquitous language - mathematical apparatus = software development - mathematical modeling = domain model development process
From this we can draw the corollary that just as in the first case, mathematicians' deviation from the supplied mathematical model will easily lead to wrong/unnecessary results, so in the second case, developers' deviation from the domain model can lead to failure in the end.
In his book, Eric Evans gives the following real-life example. Internet Explorer used to save “Favorites” as files with names corresponding to page names. When the user tried to specify his name, he sometimes got an error “Invalid file name”, although it was not obvious what files had to do with it. This was because the developers were using their own model and the client wanted something different.

Summary

Thus, there is a strong idea of mathematical modeling behind DDD
