Time flies! This May marks exactly two years since "My Time at Sandrock" debuted on Steam from Early Access. Therefore, in this particularly significant May, we are excited to introduce the new V1.3 content update along with an additional pet DLC — "Monster Whisperer

The V1.3 update and the DLC will go live on:

May 28 at 9am CET / 3am EDT

Just a heads up: we're still waiting on the final approvals for the DLC on consoles, so the release times might be a bit different depending on the platform. Feel free to check out this post for the latest updates and details on any changes. While the DLC release times could vary by platform, we're still planning to roll out the V1.3 free update and the Monster Whisperer DLC to our PC gamers on May 28. Plus, the free update is all set to launch across all console platforms on the same day too.
This upcoming V1.3 version and Pet DLC will mostly introduce several new features and gameplay elements involving pets roaming freely, joking aside, it's almost like we're putting Pokemon in the game!

Let's dive into highlights below:

-New pet training and battle-related content: Expanding the pet system with more interactions, allowing pets and Builders to experience more thrilling stories together. The new DLC will also enable you to capture wild creatures, like the Pensky, to keep as pets. Do you not feel compelled to catch them all? -New gameplay elements: New Sand Buggy mini-game, introduction of new weapons, unlocking more levels on challenging dungeons, and the addition of cooking to the factory to enhance your adventures.
-UIs and optimizations: Adjusted the factory queue, added a new UI for currency overview, and introduced brightness and contrast settings to enhance exploration and building comfort. Additionally, we've installed an automatic sandstorm wall that activates itself to protect against sandstorms automatically.
We will publish a complete changelist after the release on May 28. Don't worry, this update won't mess with where you're at in the game. But if you want to really get into the whole pet thing as you go through the story, you might wanna think about starting fresh.
We will continue to optimize and expand Sandrock with even more content. We deeply appreciate all players and look forward to hearing your thoughts!

· I personally feel that being open to the intricacies of every star card and ability is the best way to go and should not be considered an exploit. Everyone should know what’s happening when the enemy team starts using these game-changers (and there are many people who do), and best enabling them to learn how to counter it. In the end, understanding these little details leads to a more competitive and playable battlefront.
· Although not too often, some of the supposed up-to-date references below contradict each other; I had to make a final choice without having the time to test them.

I(F38) She(F40) we've been dating since November. We are long distance. When we started talking everything was ok. We talked every single day, texted all day, video chat etc. Them around Christmas and New years I started not hearing from her as much. She took her kids traveling for one of their birthdays. In January I got to see her for two days. In those two days we pretty much spent all day with her, her sister, and her wife. She stayed at the hotel with me. After the visit I didn't from her for almost week not talking on the phone. I sent her a long text stating I wanted her to be honest with me because it seem like she was slowly ghosting me and stringing me along and not being serious about me. She immediately responded and said that wasnt the case that's she just been busy with work and she starts telling me about the navy. She apologized and said she promise to do better.
She starts doing a little better then she starts slacking off again. She barely calls me or text me. I will see get on Facebook before she calls or text me. She be on tik tok. There was a time I use to can see when the last time she was on there she literally turned that feature off. I always have to call her or text her. Then when I text her she takes all day to respond. She knows what time I start and get off work. She knows what days I'm off.
This week she was suppose to come to see me on Wednesday. She never called me. I only received a text from her saying she was at the airport. If you work for the airline they have this system called buddy passes( To me it's not worth it)where you get to fly for free locally. The only thing is you have to wait if seats are available after everybody that has paid get their seats. She tells me she was on the plane and got kicked off that was at 10:32. I still didn't hear from her all day. Mind you I got off work early and paid for a hotel. Not one time did she call me and tell me what was going on.During this time I see she's been on Facebook. She also has been on tik tok. At 6:32 on my way to the hotel she tells me she's in my and that she has to rent a car and drive back to Philly. No call and no text after that. When I called around 9 she didn't pick up. She told me that she just made it home and she's dealing with kids right now and that she would call me. She never called me. I called her the phone ranged and she never picked up.
The next day which is Thursday. I text her but I didn't call her. I'm texting her and still never responds. Later she text me after I asked her if she was ok. She said she was so mad about yesterday and how she really want to see me. Then I text her if she's ok what's wrong. She says no that she's in her feelings and wanted to see me. I still don't hear from her. When I text her telling her I'm not mad at her. She text back saying she on flight. When I get home I tell her I made it home. I then tell her that I really wanted to talk to her tonight and that I was gonna call her when she's at her second job. Again my mom knows about her suppose to come to see me now it's looking like she's lying about shit. My mom has no idea we've been having issues as far as her not communicating. My mom believes long distance never work so I didn't tell her what was going on. She is literally proving my mom right. She is having doubt about us strictly because this situation happened. Not one time did she call me and ask if it was ok. The two ppl that asked if I was ok was my mom and my bestfriend. I can hear the concern in my mom's voice because I spent money on a hotel and left work early because of her. My bestfriend thinks she's lying about shit. When we talked she literally told me the times it shows active on Facebook sometimes she doesn't be on. I investigated that and it's true sometimes. But her case I feel that's not true for her. When she she's not on Facebook and she's sleep it say she has was active 7 hours ago. The things I have asked her she's been truthful. I know where she works. I know where she lives. I've met her family. She has told me personal shit that if anybody wanted to use her they would quickly run with it. Somebody with no good intentions will try to use her because the things she do to be stable. She has a very good job, owns her home. The only reason she's been so open is because she never has worry about being with her because of what she has because I have my own everything. So what she tells me doesn't matter. I know there's trust when it comes to that. Like I am in love with her. I tell her how much I love her everyday. We are not official yet. I even told her in the beginning I don't want my time wasted. Recently I asked when she gonna be my gf and she's gonna have me waiting forever. She told me "not forever' so I left it alone after that. When we talk we talk about all other things except about me and her.
At night when she's at her second job, I called 3 separate times she never picked up. I texted her she never respond back. At this point I am very unhappy. Wednesday when she was suppose to visit she was on Facebook. I always have to call her. She never send me a good night text. I buy her lunch sometimes. In the beginning she bought me lunch and sent flowers and candy to my job. She bought something for me for Christmas and she gave it to me when I saw her in January. Since then I haven't received any gifts from her, no letters, etc. About two weeks ago she asked if she can buy me lunch I said yes. That was it. Last time we really talked on the phone was at 12:00 am on her birthday of May 8. When she say she'll call me she never calls and I stay up late waiting on her call. She knows damn well I have to get up early for work. But No she never calls. Since then we haven't talked. Not one time did she apologize or call to see if I was ok. I even sent her a text asking why is she not answering my calls or text. No response. I've decided that today I will not contact her at all. Again I am not sure what to do at this point. What would you do?

Hello,
I am a devops engineer, sole woman in a team of 6. I joined company 1.5 years ago with previous experience in some small projects, from start having made clear to my manager I want to build stuff from scratch, etc.
Once I joined i got in a already completed project with a guy, to get around, mainly doing maintenance and improvement tasks.
Contract was canceled suddently after 6 months from customer side for unrelated with our team issues.
I was for a month on bench and then was added to another project, also completed by one of my colleagues and again doing the same maintenance tasks, etc. I was left sole responsible on this as my colleague wanted to claim on new project.
I am in this till today only claiming 4 hours/day, and now i shut down everything cause they move to different solution,but contract will be valid till end of year and I have nothing to do as I should claim these hours. I am not satisfied and manager pushes to convince customer for doing documentation, etc, in hope to stay more, when all infra is now gone and I want to get rid of it.
Now was announced I will be added to additional project, was momentary happy but he said i will join an also completed one, because they want to free the responsible colleugue to go to a new one coming!! I am beyond angry and on verge of quiting. I am already totally demotivated. The only work I am doing is internal that noone wanted to do and manager gives compliments but I really don't give a flying f. What you think? Happened to you? What you did? I lean on quitting cause I think it's clear that my purspose here is to free the guys from completed projects so they can move to new ones.
Additional clarifications: 1. In all projects i have joined everyone was satisfied and got compliments as I did everything asked and in organized way so it's not matter of incompetence. Also in year review manager said there I nothing I could have done better. I also have the most certificates from anyone in the team, latest one gotten this year. 2. I have discussed with manager over 6 times that I want to join a new project to get experience on building and not only maintain stuff and till now his excuse was we were not getting many projects, bad financial period, etc, but atm he got 3! new ones and all were given to the other guys. 3. 3 of the guys are seniors , and 3 of us mid, also one of the mid guys joined company 3 months after me but was given new projects.

I (34) recently matched with a guy (30) on Bumble and I'd say we immediately hit it off. He asked me for a coffee walk the day after we matched. The coffee walk turned into a 4 hours date with lot of laughter and plenty to talk about.
Already during the first meet up he asked me for a second date and after the coffee walk he immediately messaged me that he had a lot of fun and can't wait to see me again.
Unfortunately he went on a 10 days trip 2 days after the first meet up, but we kept in touch. We messaged each other once a day but always long paragraphs. He once didn't get back to me for almost 3 days after he initially asked me to meet up the day after his return. So I told him, that I would be free that day but that he doesn't seem very interested (without mentioning why). He messaged back that he's sorry for giving this impression because he's not regularly responding during his trip, but he's interested and would love to see me again. That was fine to me then.
Two days ago we had our second date, we went for darts in a Pub. We had an amazing evening of about 6 hours until 1.30 am. We also kissed, kissed about an hour on a bench in a park in the end. But then he said he'd love to spend the night with me and to me this is at least an orange flag on a second date. I told him that I find it a little odd that he's asking me this but he said, its just because he had such a wonderful evening and he can't even stop kissing me (of course he couldn't, we were horny haha). I told him that I don't go with him tonight.
Again he asked me out for the next date during this date.
From my past experiences, when a man likes a woman and had a great date, he would message her in the morning. But he didn't. But to be fair, the night before he messaged me that he had a great evening and good night and I only said good night to him too. But I was still confused that he asked me to go with him, that's why I didn't react to it and backed off a little.
I decided to ask him around noon how he feels (because we did drink a little and I felt a little hungover at work). He was online from time to time but left my message unread until the evening. To me a bad sign if you're seriously interested. When he then replied I told him that my hangover was very much worth it. He said his hangover too. I then asked what he's up to and when he's flying to London the next day (today).
So he only got back this morning when he was at the airport. He also send me 5 messages and asked about my plans for the day and if it's busy at work. And this seems to be fine on the one hand, but on the other hand I find myself wondering/uncertain. I have to say that I was in a relationship of 8 years and dating is new to me now. I try to put myself in his shoes but I always get back to relate to myself. If was was seriously interested in someone, I would make a little more effort, not? When I'm out with friends I also don't read or reply to him. But when I'm in bed, I do. Because 1. I don't want to make him feel ignored and 2. I'm interested in his messages and maintaining a conversation.
I'm trying not to overthink and when we meet up next Tuesday I will mention that I'm uncertain if he's looking for something serious or more casual, but until then, I'd like to hear some thoughts or experiences here.

Heyo. Landed myself job with actually decent timetable, meaning I got actual free time this summer. And that spare time got me thinking of starting fly fishing.
While I fish alot, usually hundreds of hours per year, but I really haven't ever got into fly fishing. The places that I usually fish around don't really have trout or salmon in them, the stocks were decimated in past by forest industry, excessive damming (we got 11 dams between us and sea, on stretch of around 70km) and various other factors.
Species that would suit for fly fishing around here would be pike, perch and asp, but I think that deadbaiting with light gear is most fun way to catch pike, as for perch I rather use micro lures. And I'm not too interested about asp.
What I'm mostly interested about catching on fly would be rudd, it's nice and rather colourful european fish, kinda similar to grass carp, but it usually doesn't grow beyond 35cm & 0.6kg in weight, usually it stays much smaller. It' s pretty much what you would call ultralight species.
So I'm here asking you some advice, what class rod should I be looking at? Personally I were thinking something like #1 or #2. And also if anyone knows good lines around that class, I would be interested at them. Reel wise, im probably gonna order myself danielsson one.
Budget won't be issue here.

Hello, I’m looking to get tips and tricks you may have to be faster on bulk/lg bags/sm bags. We do truck during that day, get there at 4pm, scheduled till midnight but usually stay later. 4 of us total but we get pulled off alot to cover reg, get animals, BOPUS and SDD falls on us alot. We also have vetco there as well from 5:30pm-close. It’s rough to say the least. As of now, I clean as I go so I put away my overstock before moving to the next pallet due to the limited spacing. I feel I’m pretty good on my time for the pallets but I’d like to get faster. We have 2 free uboats, most days, sometimes we don’t so that sucks. Please give me tips on what you do to absolutely fly thru those pallets, anything that will help, like do you wait to clean up your overstock at once, things like that. Xavier: Why are you here?
Vincent: I did tell you it’s parent day.

Xavier: (looks at him, half angry)
Vincent: You’re breaking school rules like an idiot. That is bothersome, Exavier. Very much so.
Xavier: (looks down at the flyers again, huffing a bit)
Vincent: It’s up to you. I don’t need you to be educated in America. But your friends do, right? And … (he leans over, looking at the flyers) … these aren’t the only schools on the list. And a few of them have rather insufficient internet.
Xavier looks at him, glaring, but not saying anything. Vincent observes him, completely unfazed still.
Vincent: Would you like to find out how many friends you’d have left after a few months?
Xavier: (slightly huffs, still not saying anything)
Vincent: Have I made myself clear?
Xavier: (looks down, nodding)

Esther: (shakes her head a little at her) I don’t think you tried hard enough. Wolf nights aren’t times to be a chooser. Or difficult, Enid. You need to adjust to your position. Maybe that’s what you didn’t like.
Murray looks at his wife, uncomfortable.
Enid: I don’t like hierarchies, it’s true.
Esther: (sighs) Just when I thought we were getting somewhere.
Enid glares at her, then looks into the middle distance for a moment, then down – then starts chuckling.
Esther: What?
Enid: (smiles at her – then gets up and walks away – a few meters off, she turns) Wow. Sixteen years and you finally said something I can use.
They exchange a look, her mother’s face changing a little while Enid seems near tears. Her father sighs, looking down. Enid looks at her mother defiantly, then stomps away.
Cut to the pond. Pugsley is sitting around all alone, staring at the water. He goes to fetch something from his bag and pulls out a grenade. He pulls the pin and throws it, but before it can reach the water, someone flies in and kicks it to the side, where it explodes. Pugsley stares at Eugene, who raises an eyebrow at him.
Eugene: Now that’s not very nice.
Puglsey: Wasn’t supposed to be?
Eugene: (chuckles) So… what’s a kid who wouldn’t chose boarding school over home doing here?
Puglsey: (stares at him)
Eugene: (flies over and sits down next to him, looking at him attentively)
Pugsley: (shrugs) I wasn’t in the mood for my parent’s cheerfest for my sister today.
Eugene: Must be hard.
Pugsley: I can handle. One day I’ll show them all.
Eugene: (smiles a little at this, kinda getting it)

Pugsley: I may or may not have heard that your moms are about as insufferably loving as mine. So what brings?

They sit in silence for another one, then he fetches something from his bag. Cut to Eugene’s face – he flinches when he suddenly hears another grenade explosion nearby. He turns to Pugsley, who has thrown it.
Eugene: Dude! (holds his chest a little)
Pugsley: Explosions usually make me feel better.
Eugene: (stares at him – then bursts into giggles)
Pugsley: (smirks)
Eugene: You’re so like your sister.
Pugsley’s expression drops. He looks at him surprised - but not in a bad way.
Eugene: (shrugs) Little more fun maybe.
Pugsley stares at him with a little smile. Bewildered. Eugene wants to say something more, but in this moment, his mom calls him. He sighs, turning to them in the distance. Eugene sighs.

2024.05.17 08:51 Relative_Law_1331 Request for free coaching on Ashe. Hardstuck silver/gold

Hi!
I'm looking for someone that can spare some time for free to help me improve my Ashe (and perhaps cass and sombra) gameplay. I have been as high as diamond in one previous season in OW1. I am currently Plat 5 support mainly using Ana and Illari (a bit of Bap and moira here and there). As DPS, I was hardstuck Silver 2 for a month, and finally was able to climb a bit to Gold 4, feel like I'm already getting hardstuck here again.
I feel that whenever I get put into a "pressure" game (aka loser queue), I can't get a win. Can't help but feel like a victim of the infamous forced 50/50. Whenever I win 2 or 3 in a row, it feels like you are punished with a bad team because the game wants you to be the carry. I thought this was an urban legend, but Blizz pretty much confirmed it with the May 14 patch.
I HAVE done my homework (I'd enjoy a conversation about my knowledge of the game so you can assess my level of understanding), but feel there's something that needs expert advice. Here's what I've improved on :

Aim and mechanical skill in general. Being able to consistently hit diving tracers, genjis, sombras, echos, pharas, mercy's and lucios. Being confident in my aim and standing my ground to get the killing shot instead of running (on low targets or targets that i know will die before reaching me).
Taking angles, abusing high ground and smart flanks while complimenting my other dps creating situations where the opposing team has to decide which flank to counter
Creating space with my bob or using it to create an extra flank
Positioning in general and knowing how to get ready for the next fight.
Knowing then a fight is lost and falling back instead of feeding. Invertly, also knowing when to commit to win the fight. This has greatly made me die WAY less.
Target selection (not focusing on a single target unless they are low, not going for tanks unless they are low or if the team needs me to mitigate/suppress a push attempt)
Tracking enemy CD's and ults in general
Trading CD's with the enemy using my dynamite (provoking nades , suzus and sometimes ults)

Here's what I feel I need to work on:

Countering the enemy team when they identify I am the carry and they try to kill me first
Dueling hanzo and widow
Dealing with a full dive comp (is there any way to stay hitscan or do I have to play CounterWatch?)
Dealing with certain maps that are not necessarily convenient for Ashe, especially the newer maps they've added.
Being able to claim a flank space when the enemy team is highly aware of me
Getting a consistent performance / gameplay (playing at the same level performance level in every game)

There's even been games where i get 40 - 50 kills, 15k damage, 5 - 6 deaths and still lose. In these cases, my logic tells me the fault is somewhere else, but im sure its me.
I know that there's the concept of VOD reviews, but I feel that I can get the most out of a live session where someone spectates my gameplay and gives me feedback on the fly. Let me know if you can spare some time to view my gameplay and give me some pointers. I would greatly appreciate it!

Hey guys! (Text wall incoming)
I am planning on building an A350 airliner. It may be out of my league but I am here to learn and expand my hobby.
The size I am going for is 1.5m wingspan (average I would say) and I have observed ramy RC's builds for years now. I think I can give it a try 😅
First step, loading up fusion 360 and designing the thing.I know the basics and I have tried it in the past, ig it should work out. Found a good playlist about a guy designing an MD-80, will watch it through. I will be mainly using depron foam and some wood here and there.
My main goal- Make a good looking plane that's light and flies....
If you guys have any suggestions on transmitters and receivers please let me know. I don't want to break my bank but need some good setup, like expo and basic telemetry like battery voltage.. Also, if you want to add something else, feel free to do so 🫡

After finally getting my first premium card, venture X, only one I planned on getting (and keeping).
...and then getting an unexpected offer for the sapphire reserve for 75k, green checkmark pre approved. Ok, fine.
...and then I opened the Amex app and saw the 175k offer, a week later.
That's insane, right? I googled it. From what I know, when you get an Amex offer like that, you take it while it's available.
Almost annoying, would have rather staggered these, but you take such things when they come. I'm not super into this space, just someone who has watched from the sidelines. But Jesus did I just score a lot of travel points.
Now I just need to hit 12k spending over the next 6 months, not too hard, and to learn about maximizing points. Looking forward to flying to Japan and Europe for free in the near future, and enjoying some lounges on the way.
Is it as rare/special to get a 175k offer as I felt like it was?

2024.05.17 07:55 lotosaseu I flew on a plane piloted by a woman and this happened

So a couple of days this happened and I shared it on one of my private women’s groups. And the ladies asked to share it with more people. So here goes.
I was flying home from one event. I was given a seat in second row of the plane and as I sat in that place I got this weird feeling as if the universe put me in that particular place for some reason. At first I thought maybe I will get a reward of being alone in the row of seats so I can sleep more comfortably, but as the last people came in someone sat next to me and I realised I was wrong.
A man with his wife or girlfriend came up to the first row and asked the female flight attendant if they could use the WC before liftoff. The flight attendant said it would be fine, but they would have to wait until all other passangers have boarded. As they were waiting for the WC, they realized that the places in first row are free and so they asked, if they could use them (because, as I understood, they wanted to sit together, but they got separate places). The flight attendant responded that these seats are 20 euro more expensive and they decided to buy them. As I was listening in on the conversation, it was obvious from the way he spoke, that this man was an intelligent and respectful person.
When he sat in this place, he peaked into the pilot’s cabin and said loudly and with a surprise in his voice to the female flight attendant “will the pilot be a woman today?” (I expected him to praise her, but the next sentence rapidly changed my perception of this man…) “Is this even safe?” I was shocked. I saw the flight attendant made herself smaller and said “she is a very experienced pilot”. Then he asked “Very experienced? How old is she? She looks really young… Or maybe she’s like 40?” Now at this point I wanted to scream. But what actually came out of me was a snicker with a headshake. The man that sat next to me asked what this other guy said that made me react this way, I explained and saw a supporting look in his eyes.
After the conversation between the guy and flight attendant ended, I observed her as she had to do the security dance that they always do before the flight. As I have quite an extensive flying experience, I don’t usually take time to watch this safety instruction, but this time I was observing very attentively. Her body was doing the moves and on her face you could very clearly see pain: the type of pain that you have when you want to cry, but you can’t allow yourself to do it.
When the plane lifted, I fell asleep. I woke up an hour later and I received this clear message that I had to pass on to the pilot. At this moment I was extremely happy I bought a pen as I was thinking I would write some song lyrics, while waiting for the plane – I didn’t write much, but now I knew why I needed that pen. I found a small part of the paper that was not full of random lyrics of mine and prepared it for the message. I was very worried to make a mistake on the only small piece of paper I had, so I practiced what I wanted to write next to my lyrics before I actually wrote it out on the page, so this is why I still have the actual text I wrote.
“Hi,
I wanted to express, how sorry I am that you have to experience ignorant comments from m*sog*nist men for choosing to be a pilot.
I believe by following your passion you uplift & inspire women & especially girls that get to experience flying with you.
Some weak male egos get threatened by this, but this is a very needed process for the change that is occurring in the collective in finding more balance after a long history of patriarchy.
On behalf of all the little girls of this world
Thank you.”
As the crew started preparing for landing, I stopped the flight attendant that I saw was really affected by that situation, gave her the piece of paper and I said „This is not trash. This is a message for you and for the pilot. Read it first and if you feel like it, share it with her too.“ The flight attendant thanked me and then read the message. She looked at me with a very warm smile and said she will definitely give it to the pilot. She then pulled back the little curtain they have in their area and invited two other female flight attendants that were on the flight for a chat. I saw them reading the paper, then I saw her pointing to the guy (presumably explaining the context for my message). All three of them then looked at me and smiled warmly.
But then I started having thoughts that I should say something to this guy as well. And the first thoughts that I had weren‘t very nice. Then I heard my teacher‘s voice in my head saying „Now is your chance to turn your poisons into pearls“ and I realised that I do want to draw a boundary, but with love.
When the plane landed, I quickly grabbed my stuff and as I was waiting for the door to open, I was observing this guy collect his stuff. When he finished and stood up to wait, I gathered all my courage (I literally felt my feet physically tremble how afraid I actually was) and I told him:
„I would like to tell you something, because I feel you now have a chance to learn and to grow.
For this lady to pilot this plane, in her studies and work she had to show a degree of excellence that was way above most of her male peers. And this is because of such ignorant viewpoints like yours of some male teachers and colleagues that she must have had in her life. I truly hope that if you ever have a daughter you will not make her feel smaller the way you tried to make the pilot of our plane feel today.“
He said „you probably did not hear the end of our conversation. In the end I told the flight attendants that actually probably it is true that flying with women is safer. And that all of it was a joke“.
I answered „True, I didn‘t hear this part. But then your joke was not funny. Because I saw their reaction. And it was not funny for me.“
I noticed a small supporting smile from the man that sat next to me during the flight. The door oppened and the guy from the first row stepped to the side to let me leave the plane first.
Today absolutely by chance I saw these statistics (from the Female Quotient in fb):
„Women make up less than 20% of the workforce in most aviation occupations: Only 5% of pilots are women and women make up about 6% of airline CEOs. <..>“
I don‘t know what you can take from my story. But what I hope is that you allow yourselves to fly in a pursuit of your dreams whatever your dreams might be, regardless of some men that get scared so easily.
P.S. I got some criticism on the story sounding fake and also that I seem to think I am somehow above all the people I've encountered. This is definitely not the case. I just felt some stronger connection to my inner light on that day. On most days I would not have enough courage to even give a message to the flight attendant. I would not even think of addressing the guy. And I would not expect any person to always be able to stand up for what they feel is right. It took a lot of energy from me. I was literally crying while writing the little note. This was a story of me personally overcoming my fears that made me feel a bit more empowered.

My gf 22F and I 23M have been dating for 3 years and just moved into a new apartment together in October last year. We met in college 3 and a half years ago and instantly hit it off. We did everything together and started dating shortly after we met. For the past 3 years, everything has been perfect. We’ve begun to talk about our bigger goals in life that we want to accomplish, and even discuss when we want to have kids and get married. However, we’ve started to have a small kink in our relationship that has honestly begun to take a toll on me.
Now, my girlfriend is like many other people our age and loves to spend time on her phone during her free time. She has a few games on her phone that she’ll play regularly during her lunch breaks at work or to blow off steam when she gets home. The game she’s played the most has been 2048, but recently she downloaded Fruit Ninja and has a hard time putting it down. We hardly talk at dinner anymore because she’s trying to “beat her high score on arcade mode”. When we’re falling asleep in bed, our last minutes awake aren’t spent joking around or having a conversation anymore. Instead, her fingers are furiously flying on her screen, slicing virtual fruit in hopes of beating her high score.
A few days ago, I nearly hit my limit when we were having sex one night and pulled her phone out to start a game. I could not believe what I was watching. For 30 seconds, I was in shock. But when the gravity of the situation hit me, I stopped and immediately went to the bathroom and locked the door. She didn’t even come to ask me what was wrong until she finished her game.
Not only has she dedicated an ungodly amount of time to this game but also money. While she was on a gaming spree, I caught her purchasing $50 worth of in-game currency that barely increased the amount she already had. At this point, I was more than suspicious. I asked her how much she’s spent in total on this game but she didn’t tell me. But based on how little her $50 purchase increased her massive reserves, I’m estimating she’s spent ~$500 on Fruit Ninja.
I truly love my girlfriend and would do anything for her, but I’m beginning to have my doubts. I know this scenario seems fake or absurd (trust me, I know how crazy this all sounds), but it’s been a huge problem that is putting a strain on our relationship. We’ve sat down and had a few serious talks about this and she said she’ll do her best to be more present, but I haven’t seen much improvement. She still plays the entire time we’re in the car together, whenever we eat, when we watch TV, etc. You get the point. Whenever I try to break her spell, she responds with unemphatic one or two-word answers and gets back into her game.
I’m reaching out to reddit because I don’t know who to go to anymore. I can’t talk to my friends or family about this due to the embarrassing nature of this problem. I am hoping to find solace in any advice that can improve the outcome of our relationship and let some sense of stability back into our lives. I guess my question is, should I let something as ridiculous as this ruin our relationship, or should I continue to try and fix this problem? I just want my girlfriend back.
TL;DR: my gf is obsessed with Fruit Ninja and is creating strife in our relationship. She spends way too much time and money on this game and I am almost at my wit’s end.

I've started a gofundme page to raise funds for myself to go and have MBST in Singapore. Just got off the phone to a lovely lady who has recently returned from having the treatment. Her bone markers are already looking good and on the rise. Im hoping to have the funds for the treatment in a few months time. 12 sessions costs on average $6000. Wood had been training the Gryffindor Quidditch team relentlessly at every free moment. Last night Wood had been running broomless drills between dinner and curfew. Once back in their common room he had tried to talk strategies using Ron's chess pieces, Harry had been King, George and Fred were bishops, the chasers were pawns, and Oliver was the Queen. Until Angelina Johnson had yawned, and explained that a good night's sleep was the the best strategy.
Harry stiffled a yawn in transfiguration. He found it hard to concentrate. For some unknown reason Harry began to think about werewolves. Were werewolves even real? He couldn't remember.
"Mr Potter!" Snapped Professor McGonagal. "Would you care to share what is so important it has taken all of your attention?"
"Werewolves" he answered before he could consider the question. "...and the difference between them, and the transfiguration when you turn into a cat."
"Animagus" Hermione coughed
"Animagus! That's it. I was trying to remember the word. Now that I have, I can leave this to consider later." Harry rambled.
Professor McGonagal stared her unblinking cat stare. Harry grew increasingly uncomfortable but decided not to say anything further.
"That, Mr Potter, is an interesting question. What is a difference between them?"
Hermione's hand shot up three inches higher than her natural reach.
Professor McGonagal continued to stare at Harry. Harry thought of the B grade horror films Dudley watched.
"Er..a werewolf is forced to transform on the full moon, and you... er... Animagus.... Animaguses? ....Animagi? ... an Animagus can transform.... at will?" Harry tentatively answered.
"Given your attention was diverted for seven minutes, I want seven factual points comparing werewolves and Animagi, handed to me by tomorrow's class."
"Are you giving me a detention?" Harry asked hopefully
"Not unless you fail to hand in an acceptable response to the question."
Harry's shoulders slumped. He would have to stop by the library and complete it in 'History of Magic'. He had hoped to get a nap in during Professor Binns class.

Harry asked Madam Pince for any documents on Werewolves and Animagi that were accessible to him. Soon she had compiled a stack of books for him, and oddly a copy 'Teen witch weekly' (issued monthly, but Hermione pointed out that if it was called 'Teen Witch Monthly' it would sound like a euphemism for a ladies time of the month. Ron had promptly dropped the magazine.). The issue of 'Topographical Habitat' made some sense, as it was purported to be a factual periodical about unknown magical tribes from around the world and rare fantasic beasts.
Hermione took the largest book from the stack, Ron took 'Topographical Habitat', and Harry flipped through 'Teen Witch'.
Hermione seemed somewhat impressed that Ron had at least taken the serious publication. Harry's own suspicions about Ron's choice appeared confirmed, when Ron blushed such deep scarlet, he could have been camouflaged next to Fawkes.
"100 ways to woo your wizard? Top 10 potions for a slimmer summer body? Love potions gone wrong, a young witch's horror? Who reads this trash?" Harry asked aloud.
Hermione didn't meet his eyes.
"I don't. Some of the other girls do. Apparently they can often have interesting articles, and they have a 'questions to the Sage Sisters' section where young witches can ask embarrassing questions they can't ask their parents or professors"
Hermione attempting to hide the red flush in her cheeks,nonchalantly flipped through the large book, seemingly unaware it was upside down.
"There must be a reason Madam Pince got it for you." She continued before turning the book right side up. "It's faster to get to 'W' for werewolves from the back" she explained without looking up.
Harry smiled.
"Take our quiz. Which Animagus are you?"
"That sounds highly inaccurate. I suppose you did say any documents..."
Harry pushed it to the side a little too far and it slipped off the edge of the table with three other books. Harry ducked down to tidy them up. He quickly slipped the magazine into his bookbag and picked up the other three books.
The three of them quickly found the pages with basic information on both, and a refence to the spell to become an animagus, but it was in the restricted section. Harry noted the book title down. Unfortunately there wasn't time to write down all the important bits. If he hurried, Harry thought he might just be able to mark down page numbers and book titles to find them on the next break.
"I wish I had access to a photocopier" Harry lamented.
"Just ask Madam Pince for a copy." Ron suggested
Madam Pince read through the pages quickly, and copied them. She redacted a few pieces of "restricted" information, including the name of the restricted book. Finally, a watermark charm indicating it was an authorised copy, before handing them the pages.
Hermione stared in awe.
"I need to learn that spell." She said as they raced to 'History of Magic'
"Yeah, it'd be super helpful." Replied Ron.
"How did you know what a photo copier was?" Harry panted as they sprinted up to the classroom
"A wha? You said copier. I assumed you wanted a copy. Name seemed pretty obvious."
During 'History of Magic' Harry propped open the text book and flipped to the quiz in the magazine. He readied his quill, but as it was a magical publication, you used your wand to tap the answer. After the result was given the pages would clear and the next person could take the test.
There were several disclaimers in fine print stating results were not guaranteed, and merely for entertainment purposes.

Harry didn't even know what spelunking was. He assumed it was some obscure wizard sport, common elsewhere in the world. He picked Quidditch of course.
The questions were odd and seemed mostly irrelevant to animals, but finally he came to the results.

"Think it's broken mate" Ron whispered over Harry's shoulder "my dad found one of those at the ministry. It's a toy for muggle kids."
"It says its a bird of prey." Harry whispered back.
"Give it here so I can take it." Ron asked.
Harry carefully passed it over and started writing his comparison for McGonagal.
Ron grumbled when he was done.
"Still say its broken. I got goat."
"It's just a ridiculous quiz Ronald. Hardly likely to be accurate is it? Besides goats are excellent creatures. " Hermione reached over and took the magazine.
Soon she showed her own results.
"Utter nonsense. I got an octopus. I'd much rather be a goat, than an octopus." Hermione carefully showed the result page to Ron and Harry.
"Nah, that's way cooler than a goat." Ron sighed
"Imagine you turn for first time, no water in sight. Not very useful. Great, I could swim around the lake. I personally, have no desire to find myself in any way in the lake, or any other body of water bigger than a bathtub. Animagus forms are random, I have just as much chance of being a Blue Ringed Octopus, as I do a Fox. You wouldn't know what animal you'll get until to do the full spell. One reason why I'd not likely try to become an animagus." Hermione closed up the magazine, and returned to her classwork, except her classwork was for Arithmancy not history of magic.
When the class ended, Nevile came up to Harry.
"I took that quiz, or one like it ages ago. I was at St Mungos,... just waiting at the minor aliments clinic. I don't subscribe to 'teen witch' magazine or anything. I got a Honey Badger. I thought for sure it would mean I'd be in Hufflepuff. Do you think I could maybe,... maybe I could... borrow your magazine to see if I'd be something else now?" Neville shyly asked
"Go for it. This is just a library copy. Part of my extra homework McGonagal set me. I'll give it to you in our room"
At the end of class, Ron had a free class block. Oliver Wood had a copy of all the Gryffindor Quidditch team player's timetables, and he and Harry had a one on one training session during this free block. Hermione had an elective that Ron and Harry didn't take. In an attempt to delay the training session, Harry offered to walk with Hermione to the next class.
"Ron, do me a favour and talk Quidditch strategies with Wood. Maybe he won't notice I'm late. I need a few minutes to myself. Encourage him to get substitute players too. If he has more players to train then maybe he'll ease up on the rest of us." Harry sighed.
"Hermione mind if I accompany you to..." Harry paused not knowing what her next class.
"Ancient Runes" Ron said as he packed up his books.
"Actually, I've got Ancient....Runes. How did you know that Ron?"
"I spent long enough helping you shift your classes around, so you could do them all." Ron replied "Catch you two at lunch then. Do you think Wood would really listen to my strategies?"
"Percy apparently complained to Oliver that 'it was bad enough having a house full of Quidditch obsessed siblings, he could no longer handle it taking over their dorm room too.' I feel bad for their other roommates, having to deal with both Percy and Oliver. Anyway Percy must have mentioned you helping with Hermione's schedule, and treating it like a Quidditch league. I think Oliver will be quite keen to hear your opinion. If only to annoy Percy further."
"That's 'nough reason for me." Laughed Ron in response.
The trio split off at the staircase, with Ron promising to stall Oliver.
"So Vix, Octopus you say?"
Hermione glared at Harry
"Did you forget my name Harry?"
"You've only been my best friend for two years. Of course I forgot it, Vix. Must have been obliviated. You said you got a Blue Ringed Octopus."
"I did. It proves only that the quiz was nonsense."
"You got a small poisonous..."
"Venomous." She corrected
"Probably poisonous too. You got a small venomous octopus from Australia? I did a project on them in primary school. They live in Australian waters not anywhere near the U.K. The quiz asked your location, so you'd only get a creature that lived here. So why wouldn't you tell Ron you got a Fox?"
"How did you... I got an octopus you saw the results."
Harry gave no further reponse and waited for Hermione to come clean.
"Fine. I took the test multiple times. How did you know I got a fox?!"
"You said 'you had as much chance of being a Blue Ringed Octopus, as you did a Fox'." Harry shrugged. "You'd make a pretty good fox."
"Serves me right for choosing Australia as a location. I thought I might get a Koala or something cute. Instead I get a tiny but deadly octopus." She shook her head in frustration, frizzy hair flying everywhere.
"You would have have the fluffiest fox fur ever." Harry concluded. Hermione swatted him in the arm.
"It's still nonsense. Each animagus is completely random, as far as current research can tell. I'd probably get a hare, or a vole, or....or...an otter! Not something I'm currently planning to try."
"Only 'cause you don't know how." Which earned him another whack in the arm.
"Would you learn the spell?"
"If I could guarantee I'd get a bird, of any kind, hell I'd even take a bloody pigeon, absolutely. Only birds I'd say no to would be flightless birds"
"That's the problem isn't it. You could get anything. I wouldn't want to be a water animal, like a fish, or a rat like Ron's pet" She shuddered "or a bug. Can you be a bug?"
He shrugged
"If you could choose your form, I know, I know" he held his hands up before she could tell him off "but IF you could, what animal would make you say yes immediately?"
They walked in silence while she pondered the question.
"Not something people want to kill. Not a pest creature; rats, mice, insects, spiders, snakes. Nothing like that. Something strong, something friendly, something beautiful."
"So not a fox then?"
"No. Too many people trying to hunt them down."
"What about a horse?"
"Hmmm possibly."
"Do you think that most Animagi are Gryffindors, because it requires courage to go through with becoming an unknown animal?"
