Welcome to the Occupy Silicon Valley subreddit! Our 10 Demands
Through a democratic voting process within our community, we have established ten core demands that encapsulate our mission and vision for a fairer, more equitable digital future:
1. Reverse Trump Era Policing Laws:
Our primary demand is the reversal of the draconian laws passed by the former Trump administration in 2025. These laws have significantly eroded data privacy and transformed the United States into a surveillance state, prioritizing the interests of Silicon Valley's Big Tech companies over the rights and freedoms of citizens.
2. Universal Right to Privacy:
We demand the enactment of stringent digital privacy laws that guarantee the right to personal data privacy for all citizens. Everyone should have control over their personal information and how it is used.
3. Ban on Surveillance Capitalism:
We call for the outlawing of business models that rely on the collection and sale of personal data. Companies like Google and Meta should not profit from the exploitation of our personal information.
4. Break Up Big Tech:
We advocate for the enforcement of antitrust laws to dismantle tech giants into smaller, independent entities. This will ensure fair competition and prevent monopolistic practices that stifle innovation and exploit consumers.
5. Public Accountability Mechanisms:
It is imperative to establish independent bodies to hold tech companies accountable for ethical violations and misconduct, especially given the recent scandals involving private data leaks in the public school system. These bodies should have the authority to investigate and penalize unethical practices in the tech industry.
6. Ethical AI Standards:
We demand mandatory ethical standards and oversight for all AI development. Severe penalties should be imposed for violations to prevent misuse of AI technologies that can harm individuals and society.
7. Job Protection Policies:
Legislation is needed to protect jobs threatened by AI and automation. This includes implementing paid retraining programs for displaced workers to ensure they can transition to new employment opportunities.
8. Public Health Campaigns:
We advocate for government-funded initiatives to raise awareness about the mental and physical health impacts of excessive screen time and pod time. Policies should encourage or even mandate digital detox periods in schools and workplaces. Additionally, long-term health impact studies should be mandatory for new technologies before they are widely adopted.
9. Tech Transparency:
Tech companies must provide mandatory transparency reports detailing their data practices, AI algorithms, and content moderation policies. This will help ensure that these companies operate with accountability and integrity.
10. Tech for Public Good:
We support incentives for developing technologies that address societal challenges such as healthcare, education, and environmental sustainability. Technology development should prioritize human well-being and social good over profit.

Har de sidste par uger fået besøg af 25-30 flyvende insekter (1 ad gangen). Det ligner en blanding imellem et møl og en natsværmer. De første der kom, fangede jeg i et glas og smed dem ud af vinduet, fordi min første tanke var at det var en form for natsværmer.
Så var der pludselig en hver dag jeg kom hjem fra arb, og endte med at slå en ihjel. Der kom den samme form for “støv” som nær man klasker et møl og det ligner også møl - de er bare 5-6 gange større end noget møl jeg nogensinde har set. Har self prøvet at google lidt, men uden held. Hvad kan det være? Findes der møl der er så store ? Og mon de har et bo tæt på siden der minimum er en ny hver dag? Måske en kan bidrage med enten viden eller erfaring… God dag derude ☀️

I recently downloaded fl24 and played with the normal gameplay of fl24. But I didn't like it so much then I tried F4L V3.2. I followed all the instructions. It says that I should delete the dt18 file because it is loaded by the sider. But when I did that and started the sider I could start the game but not go into any match. Does anyone know how I can install this correctly? Or at least tell me why I can't make any skill move in a game when I was playing with the normal gameplay (fl24).
I have followed these instructions:

1. Use the original FL24 files.
   
2. Delete all other gameplay mods, Dynamic Difficulty, AI Tweaks...
   
3. Make a backup of your dt18 file and then delete it. (that's right, it should not exist at all, because it will be loaded via Sider)
   
4. Make sure your Sider is turned off and not minimized. If you have already played the game, my recommendation is to restart your computer to clear the RAM (not necessary).
   
5. Copy gameplay folder to your "livepk" folder.
   
6. Make all your ".exe" files run as administrator (FL_2024.exe, FL 2024 start.exe, sider.exe...)!
   
7. Add this this line of text to your sider.ini in exactly this order at the end of the livecpk section, as shown in the example below: cpk.root = ".\livecpk\F4L_REALISTIC_GAMEPLAY"

Dricka lite öl och ha det gott, eller unna er utav det ni tycker om, “det som händer på sjön, stannar på sjön’ - mentalitet. Jag kan styra upp det mesta, tänker mig att ni tar med eventuella berusningsmedel, swishar en symbolisk summa för soppa och mat, sen kör vi? Tänker mig att vi beger oss runt 10 tiden, kan hämta på tågstationen om ni inte har körkort.

I’ve had my 15PM since October, and my USB-C port drops connections at the slightest movement of my phone or cable and/or constantly disconnects/reconnects itself. This happens with the original cable that came with my phone, and high quality Anker cables in my car. It has happened since I got the phone, and has gotten worse now. I’ve tried hard resets, erase content/settings, a full restore (when I could get it to stay connected to my laptop), keep current software, etc. It’s made CarPlay nearly unusable unless I can somehow get my phone in a cup holder so it doesn’t move, without it disconnecting first. Or if I’m lying down and it’s sitting next to me - I move my arm, connection drops. No water exposure, no dust or lint in the port. It’s so frustrating.
So my point of this post: I chatted with Apple Support and I have AppleCare+ w/ Loss & Theft. They want me to send it in for repair and mailed me a box to ship it to them. That means I don’t have a phone for a few days. Has anyone gotten a replacement phone for this issue instead? I remember express replacements used to cost when I did it for my iPhone 6 Plus with a cracked screen - but this should be a warranty issue. I’m about an hour and a half away from the nearest Apple Store, so that’s not really an option either.

I (20) lived up north for a bit (im originally from the south) and I was smoking 🍃 just about every night. I came back 30 pounds heavier from the munchies and insanely pale due to the lack of sun up there.
ive been walking every day and in a calorie deficit. first two are from January, the last two are from this week!
I’ve never been a very thin person since I was a kid, so I’ve felt a lot better about my appearance. I’m also about 6’5, so i distributed the weight a bit differently lol. I never felt good in clothes, ever.
My goal is to be at 175-180. I’m about 1/3 of the way done, and I’m happy to be unrecognizable lol

Hey all. I've (21M) been running for a bit more than 2 years with more serious training in the last 6 months. I have an upcoming 5k in November. My last pb is a poorly paced sub 21 5k from 3 months ago.
A typical training week looks like this(All paces and distances in km):
2 easy runs (10k @ 6:20)
1 Long run (12-15 @6:30-6:35)
2 workouts rotating between 3 very typical speedwork intervals for 5k(12×400 w 1 min rest @ 3:38 pace/ 6×800 w 1:30 min rest @ 3:41 pace/ 5×1k w 1:45-2 min rest @ 3:45)
Weekly distance: 50k/35miles w 2 rest days
I believe I'm in sub 20 shape rn,even though I haven't done a time trial. My overly ambitious goal for the November race is a sub 18. I'm planning to increase mileage to 40mpw/64k and training days to 6 over the summer, as well as include some much needed threshold/tempo work. I'm also planning to progressively overload the speedwork by decreasing rest and adding reps and slowly start decreasing the avg pace in each workout.
Do you have any suggestions or things I could change in this plan? Sub 18 is a scary goal for me and I'm not sure whether I need very high mileage (like 50mpw) to achieve it or if I should just keep doing what I'm doing. I'm not even sure if ~5 months is a realistic timeframe for this progress. For people who have achieved that goal was your training similar or is there a key workout (like hill training) I'm missing?

I want to write a story that features Jinns, not as clichéd, possessed beings, but as entities simply being themselves, interacting with a human protagonist. I want to portray them accurately and avoid any misconceptions or baseless myths. I don't want to write something that will make people go "meh Jinn ain't like this." So dear Pakistanis, can y'all gives some infos or tips? Some real life incidents? Can you also give me your opinion on information about Jinns I mentioned below and that whether they are true or not?👇
1. Jinn loves sweet very much? There are many stories from Pakistan where Jinns visit bakery shops, buy 3 kilos of sweets, and eat them all in one sitting. So, it wouldn’t be strange if I write about a Jinn happily drinking a milkshake, right?
2. Their arms gets abnormally longer? There was an incident in a Madinah Madrasa where a Jinn accidentally exposed himself by extending the length of his arm to reach a distant object.
3. Jinn speaks Pasthun language? At first I dismissed it as an exaggerated story by Pashtuns boasting about themselves. However, I once read a story by a non-Pakistani writer featuring a demon character who spoke in Pashto with the protagonist. Could there be any truth to it?
4. Jinn cannot blink and their palms doesn't have lines? Perhaps it's because this is not their original? Also engaging in astrology and palm reading is a shirk, so this is unrelated to that.
5. They are naturally competitive and hot tempered? Imagine playing game with them, people say they hates losing and gets competition, in unharmful way ofc
6. They can die easily even by simple accident? If a Jinn is in the guise of a small animal like a dog, cat, or insect such as a lizard or snake, they can be harmed and even killed if injured. There are also stories of humans accidentally harming invisible Jinns because they were unaware of their presence.
7. They are not aware of unknown and unseen? Jinns cannot know what happens behind closed doors or in secret unless they enter and witness it firsthand. They don't possess "powers" allowing them to know everything without being present.
8. If you make physical contact with them, it will burn? Now this is very confusing one here. While there are stories of midwives helping Jinns give birth, which requires physical contact, there are also story of people getting burned by shaking hands with Jinns. Perhaps it depends on the willingness of the Jinn itself?
9. Even if the Jinn is good, they still like to tease? Some people say that certain traits, like being hot-tempered and competitive, are naturally present in Jinns' personalities. Just like that, playing pranks and teasing is considered one of those traits too. Even if they are good Jinns and live in your house, they may still tease you by causing things to drop, making money or items disappear, and so on.
10. Can they bleed?? Red like us?
11. They call us "Ibn Adam" which means Adam ki aulad?
12. They give short answers? I heard somewhere that they don't tend to speak proper grammar and gives only short and relevant answers?

We have lived in our home for 4 years with no issues and now that we are planning to move cross-country, things have been cropping up in the last ~6 months. I know you should err on the side of caution but had some questions about necessity of disclosing a few things that seem like a gray area. I want to be honest but also don’t want to make things harder on ourselves than they need to be.

1. We had an older sump pump that functioned fine. A few months ago we had heavy rainfall while we were out of town, and it overwhelmed the sump and caused it to burnout. We came home to a basement with 2” of standing water. Insurance wouldn’t cover and servpro wanted $10,000+ for cleanup. The basement is only partially finished and appliances were untouched so we did the job ourselves, pulled up flooring (LVP) and dried the place out for a month, then laid down new LVP. New heavy duty sump pump & backup alarm installed. Disclosure form asks for any known issues with sump pump, or basement water seepage. Do we have to disclose the prior problem seeing as we resolved it and replaced what was causing the issue? My concern is if we disclose, buyers will want receipts of professional work being done, which we do not have.
   
2. There is a woodstove on our property, no longer used as primary heat source but is original to the house. No issues came up with it on our inspection when we bought. We had the chimney cleaned and have used the stove a handful of times. A neighbor once told us that many years ago the original owner had a chimney fire that was put out quickly; this was not disclosed to us by the seller (2nd owner, not sure if they were even aware). Since this is basically hearsay and we don’t have any proof, is it necessary to disclose??
   

So this can be either a fun or a mortifying conversation to have depending on who you are and who your first fictional crushes were at the age you had them.
But you know what? I think that it would be fun regardless!
So let's get to it, in no particular order other then what comes to mind first.

1) Amy Rose: I think Amy Rose was my first fictional crush from a video game as a kid. Definitely because of Sonic Adventure DX and 2 Battle, but damned if I could tell you why. All I know is that it has left me for an appreciation for pink hair and pink things in general that has lasted to this day. It's not fiercness, that really wasn't a thing with her character back then (but is in things like Boom and while that IS something that would have gotten me hard like fishhooks back then as it does now it's not BECAUSE of the Amy that kid me had a crush on)
2) Clover from Totally Spies: Yeah this one probably tracks for how memed the show is, and I remember very little about the show itself, but I distinctly remember that for a good long while as a kid she was absolutely my favorite and to this day I don't know why. I think it was her rather combative and fiery attitude combined with being the only blonde I have ever been attracted to, which at least partially came from her rather unique hair-style.
3) Boromir: So Boromir from Lord of the Rings specifically was my first "Man Crush" as a kid, which I only recognized as a crush crush years later. Bemusingly enough most people I knew who had a similar LOTRs crush had fell hard for Aragorn or Legolas instead. Never a Gimli though sadly. Or a Frodo.
4) Martin Septim: Martin Septim from the Elder Scrolls Oblivion is the main character of that game, and it's for very good reason.
A Middle-aged priest tired and greying, but warm and caring. Feels unworthy of his role, and is forever doubtful of himself, there is just something about this man that struck me and hundreds of others like a dagger to the heart.
5) Morrigan: Dragon Age Origins. . . . It's Morrigan. Mean, Flirtatious, Dark and Gloomy, and ever so slightly evil. Morrigan has done so much to what I appreciate in terms of general taste, it's a lot.
6) Tali: Mass Effect. Yeah was never a Liara guy, I played Final Fantasy XIII first so going from that game to hearing Lightning speak in a really soft and breathy voice just drove me up the wall, but Tali was . . .well cute! Cute and fierce, and later on protective and so so so driven.
7) Gauldoth Half-Dead: Heroes of Might and Magic IV. . . . .Look it's like how people are attracted to Ghouls from Fallout, except imagine that the guy is only HALF-Dead, is a necromancer, and goes out of his way to save the world and protect his people from his gone mad Master. He's an edgy badboy who stops himself from going full Shadow or Geralt by fact of being a super pragmatic necromancer.

Those are all of the ones I can think of at the least, that definitely influenced my tastes in a major way.
I'm sure that there are at least a dozen that I am forgetting in the forgotten mists of time, but these are all of the ones that I can remember at the least.
