I find the mother in particular to be incredibly abrasive, to the point that I’m actually starting to get resentful. It’s like she’s taken over everything. I feel like an unwelcome guest in my own home. I actually really enjoy playing host, I love cooking and sharing my favourite things about where I live (London) with visitors, but with her it’s like I’ve lost all agency or autonomy. She makes these bland Chinese meals every night without consulting anyone and just kind of shoves them at me with an “eat, eat” (her English is very limited). Also, the open mouth chewing and slurping and talking with a mouth full of food is making my misophonia unbearable.
It’s wild, no one will stand up to her, no matter how much her behaviour impacts other people. The father, a lovely, gentle and timid man, only really speaks to me in the hour or so before his wife wakes up. It’s nice to chat with him, he even seems to get a bit giddy being listened to by somebody but then falls silent once the missus is up.
She’s also weird and demanding, I’ve stopped joining them on outings because she makes the husband and adult children take (literally) hundreds of photos of her, in these hilarious glamour poses and garishly colourful outfits everywhere they go. Seeing my girlfriend being so subservient is really giving me the ick, and seeing this dynamic is giving a lot of insights into some of the issues in our relationship, which I’m struggling not to focus on.
I’m trying to be a good supportive partner whilst they’re here but it’s tough as I feel like there’s only one persons needs that matter when she’s around, and I see the effect that’s having on everyone and they all seem to enable it.
Every time I bring it up, my girlfriend says the same thing, “that’s just Chinese people”. But is it? Anyone have any experience with this? Should I put up and shut up and accept behaviour I wouldn’t accept from anyone else. For example, I found items of mine, including a cute skeleton souvenir from a trip to New Orleans, in the trash and was told via the gf that she threw it away because skeletons are bad luck for Chinese, like that would matter to me. If my mum had done something like that she’d be made to understand why you can’t go into other peoples homes and throw away their things, and if she didn’t understand that, she wouldn’t be welcome.

I've been thinking of going Blueprint for a little while now. I've been comparing prices to my food and supplement stack now vs on Blueprint protocol and there are some things I've noticed.
NR: Before he took it 750mg 6/week, but now it's everyday. 300mg his Blueprint Essentials and 450mg NR or 500mg NMN w/dinner. It doesn't specify what band in the new stack but I could assume it's True Niagen for NR and Jinfiniti for NMN as that's what he used in his old stack. I think 750mg/day is too high.
NAC: First off, at what age should one start taking NAC? Dr. Brad Stanfield states that there is no need to take it before at around 45 years of age. And Bryan takes very high does. There are 1200mg in his Blueprint NAC + Ginger + Curcumin supplement. But he also takes an additional 1800mg from LE at dinner time. Is this too much, at least for a M31 like me?
Garlic: He also supplements with two types of garlic. 100mg of orderless garlic in his Blueprint Red Yeast Rice + odor free garlic and also 1,2g of aged garlic from Kyolic. There is also fresh garlic in his super veggie. So 3 types of garlic on the daily, why? Do they have different properties?
Magnesium: I'm glad to see there is added magnesium to the new stack, but why citrate? Why not L-Threonate? Too expensive? Glad to see he changed Zinc citrate to Bisglycinate though.
Collagen peptides: He uses a superb brand of collagen peptides with Fortigel®, Fortibone® and Verisol®. But idk if there is a typo or not. He uses it in his normal daily dose in the morning, but now it says that he also adds it to Nutty pudding, so two doeses each day? I though he normally just added pea protein to his Nutty pudding along with Nutty mix and EVOO.
Cocoa: Is says he uses 6g/day of his Cocoa powder. And on the product site it says Mix one scoop with (nut) milk, coffee, or Nutty Butter. Where does this come into his protocol? Super veggie uses chocolate and not cocoa powder, nutty pudding already has cocoa added. So how does he consume these 6 daily grams?
Pea protein: 29g/day it says. The Nutty pudding product already contains pea protein but if you make it yourself you are supposed to add 30-60 grams. So in his new stack he adds 29g pea protein alongside 12,5g collagen peptides to his Nutty pudding?
Iron: He uses Proferrin for his iron supplement. I was thinking of eating Super veggie, Nutty putting and taking the supplements. But also add 2 more meals each day that most likely would contain meat. Iron supplement shouldn't really be necessary then should it?
I've been using Möller's Tran for ages (Cod liver oil), it's the same Norwegian brand that also produces Carlson's omega-3 products. But with Vit D and E already in Blueprint Essentials I feel like it's overkill to still use Cold liver oil that also contains these vitamines.

Tarako consists of plain, salted sacks of pollock or cod roe. It’s a delicious part of Japanese cuisine! But this one wrestles. There was once another version of this food to appear in the GTMV universe, but this mystrious wrestler is the second generation (not at all because Masa is the tag partner, of course). They’ll be plenty of cod roe related humor in this one...and potentially Mei trying to eat a sentient creature (again). 3 things before I start with the story First, english is not my first language and I haven't practiced in a long time. Second, I have avoidant attachment, which it's a important thing in this story. Third, the main characters are the girl, who I'll call morgana, obviously fake name, my brother, that is also friends with her, and me(19)
Long story short, she's a friend from my brother's college, and I met her one day that I went with my brother to some hang out/reunion, I only wanted free drinks tbh lol, but my brother insisted that she had similar interests and that he saw us being friends. This happened on december of two years ago I think.
We bonded, and so we exchanged phone numbers. She was a lot more outgoing than me, and made some plan for us to go out, as an introverted person, who lost a lot of friends because of the quarantine, (they didn't die, just we were too anxious and depressed to talk lol) this was a new experience for me.
As the time went by, there were some instances in which I did disappear for a while, but nonetheless we were really good friends. On october last year, we made other plans to go out to watch a movie, Plans which she cancelled in the morning of the day we were supposed to go out, I really wasn't mad. On halloween, her friend group, including my brother, were having a party, apparently her parents didn't let her go to this so she was free, so I thought it would be a good chance to hang out, first, I ask her if she wanted to go to the cinema, but she refused bc the movie was gonna take to long and she didn't want to go to her house that late, so finally we decided to watch some scary videos while chatting on discord. After that she kinda started to ghost me for some hours until late in the night when she just told me "I'm going some place else"(she also send me some gifts and said nice thing, but the important part is that she just cancelled the plan only by saying that she was going somewhere else).
This time I did get angry, and send her some messages telling her that she made me feel like her backup plan, which up to a certain point I do think it's true. But because I was bored and needed someone to talk to, I kinda just started talking to her again and downplayed what she did.
The last time she cancelled a plan she did compromise to was on december of the same year, in which I was in a work related thing close to her house, so I just asked her meet up some place close, she accepted but told me that she was cleaning and as soon as she finishes she is going to tell me. 4 hours passed and she just tell me that she ended cleaning late and that she was sorry, but was going to go with her sister to eat or something, once again I wasn't mad.
After that I have to be honest and say that I did hold some resentment torwards her, that and the fact that I was pretty busy studying, just made my avoidant attachment worst and so we just kinda talked once or twice per month (which being honest sometimes happened before this but not as often). After that I just tried to go back to when the friendship was really good, but I still hold some resentment torwards her and she just kept rejecting everytime I proposed to hang out, I know this sound like I don't know how to take the hint, but, in my defense, she was constantly saying that she wanted to hang out with me, obviously she never tried to make plans, and everytime I did she just rejected them.
The breaking point was on february of this year, I bought her some valentine gifts as a friendship thing, I happened to go close to her house twice because a relative lives in the same area, so I asked her those two times to go to her house just to give her the gifts, it goes without saying, I got rejected again.
That last time I asked was on march I think, just to give an idea of how much time I held to those shitty gifts I bought, because she refused to just lend me hand them to her. So, she kinda picked up the vibe that she was making me feel like, or I think my brother told her because I did say to him how I was about to just stop talking to her if she kept on doing the same thing. So she tried to make some plans to make up for it, which honestly I would have accepted, but something in my mind just felt wrong, and I just couldn't make the resentment magically go away just because after like 6 months she decided that she should stop rejecting hanging out with me, or at least stop pretending she wanted to.
So I confronted her, being fully honest I was kind of hurtful, I did say one comment that was only to make her feel bad, I told her about her valentine gifts and how I was going to eat the chocolate and if the plushie hasn't been given to her in a week I was probably going to throw it in the garbage, and I blocked her, which apparently was what hurt her the most, because of some personal things that I wasn't aware of. I did unblocked her some time after that only to apologize for saying those things, and clarify that I only blocked her because I needed time to think and not feel the need to talk to her.
Basically, everybody thinks I'm the asshole because of my avoidant attachment how that has ruined some of my previous friendships.
TLDR: I ended the relationship with a friend because she kept rejecting every time I ask her to meet, and everybody thinks I'm the asshole because I have avoidant attachment

Hello! I don't know what prompts me specifically today to write this, I just felt like it. I think I can share a generally optimistic experience, but a realistic one, and I think reading this would have been nice for me when I was at rock bottom.
Rock bottom for me was in 2019. Bad job, bad mental health, I just didn't have a good grip on life anymore and this caused my disordered eatign to reach intolerable extens. I was looking for professional help, but finding a therapist is not easy here. There's just not enough, the waiting lists are long. Not to mention that going to a therapist and telling them your most shameful problems is just an awful thing. So I didn't find any help.
Then 2020 came, I was jobless and living with my parents, and this kind of forced me into recovery. No funds for binge OR restriction foods, no privacy to restrict or b/p. I was also severy depressed, and I stopped caring about even my eating habits. So I didn't go all in at that point. I was mostly eating normally, with some half-hearted attempts at restriction and some lack luster b/p sessions. The depression made me unable to excercise heavily. And I jsut couldn't muster any care for any of it.
I found a new job at the end of 2020 and moved out again and at that point I started acttually trying. Trying to get my life in order, my eating, and my feelings about eating along with it. That worked about as good as not trying - I still had a fare share of relapses.
This continued all throughout 2021 and 2022, my motivation for recovery waxing and waning, but ultimately I was still depressed and lacking the motivation to go all in, to look for help, but also to commit fully to an eating disorder again.
Not that this was all for nothing. My health improved. That means, obviously, I gained weight. Having to put away clothing that fit me previously, that I had sentimal attachments to, triggered the worst relapses. But at some point all of those clothes were gone. I bouht new ones, I didn't feel great about it. But along with the weight other things improved. I had terrible issues with my blood sugar before, that I'm sure were of my own doing. If I missed a meal on accident, I'd get terribly hypoglycemic (diabetes runs in my family - maybe related?). This just disappeared. Who'd have thought, EDs affect your health in unwanted ways? I was able to hike and cycle and run without carrying embarassing amounts of fructose with me now.
Regarding the mental stuff in this time - I still didn't feel great about myself. But it improved. I sometimes got to look at myself in the mirror and think nice things! Even when just 2 years ago, I would have been horrified by the changes in my body. Along with that, I forgot some calorie counts. I ate new foods that I never looked up the calories for. I started feeling comfortable with previous fear foods. I can drink non-zero sodas now, my previous mortal enemy (although that was the food that took the longest time). I started being able to keep foods around the house (oats, canend beans, pasta) without immediately binging on them. My kitchen cabinets started looking presentable to guests.
Around last years, 2023, I got my depression under control. Or at least I started to. With the help of medication (which I was able to take because I wasn't as deatly afraid of the weight gain anymore), but also just by trying really, really hard. I changed my life situation a lot. I got therapy, although I can't say it helped so much, findign a good therapist is a lot of work. I'm still on some waiting lists.
Now with the depression not gone, but much better, I was able to start caring about things. I wanted to be healthy, not only in body, but in mind. This is when I really took to "all in". I started buying the real bad fear foods. Cookies, chips, sugary sodas. Nutella! And I ate a lot of these. Scary amounts to me, really. But, as I was promised, as I let myself eat all of that, my obsessiveness around these foods decreased. Not that I don't still crave them sometimes. But I can leave a half-eaten chocolate bar in the cabinet! A dream!
Maybe I should still tackle this in therapy at some point. The disordered thoughts are not gone completely. I still think I should be thinner. I still consider whether I "earned" this serving of nutella on my bread. But with the other bad thoughts, the ones stemming from depression and anxiety, I am able to acknowledge them and put them away.
I don't know what the moral of this whole story is. I think for one it's: doing a little even without going all in is still going to let you see progress down the line. But it's also: going all in does work. And, see the whole picture. For me, my ED was not a separate problem from my other mental health issues and my life situation. Both needed to improve for my ED to lessen.

Hey All,
I am visiting Montreal for the first time as an adult on memorial day weekend (I went a few times when I was young on family trip). About me I am a mid 30s male, a self-proclaimed foodie, that lives in New York City. I studied a few years in Vancouver and my little exposure too pan Canada food comes from those days, and my exposure to french cuisine comes mostly from New Orleans, where I resided for a few years.
I like cheap eats, fine dining, dive bars and cocktails and really just pride my self on an open palette. For this trip I am mostly lookin to explore cuisine that Montreal specifically excels at like French Food. I am not very open for what I am sure is great ethnic food, but may consider fusion spots. I've asked friends who have travelled here and run excellent New York places and they recommended places like
Joe Beef and sister restaurants Au pied de cochon St viateur Bagel Fairmount Bagel
However, I'd noticed that what gets frequently mentioned in this sub-reddit seems to be a bit different. As far a budget goes, my assumption is that the prices aren't going to be more expensive to New York, so for food prices only : 35$ for a casual lunch, 20$ for fast casual food (thinks smash burgebagels/Pouton) and 50-60$ for dinner without drinks. I am willing to splurge for a place that it is worthy, but anywhere that would be 150$ for a meal would need to be mihchelin star territory. Cand you guys list me some of your favorites and I'll do my homework on them. Keep in mind that I am making reservation on pretty short notices, so I'd like to avoid places I should have reserved a month ago.

Now I'm expecting to get roasted because every trade proposal seems to upset someone, but I've tried to find something that works for everyones needs.
This is the trade noting that the Pelicans also send either their 1st rounder this year (Pick 21), or the 2024/25 Lakers pick (Pick 17 this year, or 2025 Lakers FRP) to the Spurs.
Why each team does the trade:
Cleveland

• Locks in Mitchell as our primary ball handler
• Shifts Strus to his more natural position at the 2
• Length and shooting/scoring at the 3
• Allows Mobley to play 5, backing him up with another big body
• Gives us a 4 shooter starting line up (5 if you include Mobley)
• Allows Caris Levert to play his most effective role of playmaker off the bench

Minnesota

• Gives them a point guard to replace Conley who will be 37 at the start of next season
• Allows Conley to come off the bench and control the 2nd unit
• Still leaves them with a servicable bench big to replace Reid

New Orleans

• Allows them to offload Brandon Ingram and bring in 2 good young players on team friendly contracts
• Replaces an aging Valanciunas with a big that fits their timeline while keeping Valanciunas as a bench big/vet presence
• Generates value from a draft pick in a supposedly weak draft

San Antonio

• Solves their biggest need in getting a true point guard to pair with Wemby who still fits the timeline. Looking at how Garland works with Mobley, pairing him with Wemby could be a whole new level
• Gives them another draft pick/asset to work with. They would now have 9 first round and 9 2nd round picks in the next 3 years that they could either look to package for a star wing, or use to take fliers on guys in the draft.

Sorry in advance as I am typing this on my phone. I met this guy two years ago now, he and I hit it off great. Same interests, same career path (different areas of the same field). We just hit it off without a hitch. It went very fast in the beginning he brought me flowers and my favorite chocolate and drink to school the day after we first hung out. We would just talk for hours on end about a lot. It honestly felt like a movie the way things transpired. Well school was ending for the year and I had my graduation. Oh by the way I live in the state we went to school and he lived in another state. He came back for my graduation just to see me and set up his new apartment for the next school year. We talked off and on through out summer as we were both busy working. Well I was planning on moving to another state and after I told him he seemed to distance himself from me. I told him I wasn't sure about it, trying to give him an opportunity to say like no stay but he never did. When he moved back for school we hung out very little, if at all. We would text and talk but never hang out like we use to. I did end up moving to another state middle of the school year for him. Fast forward I was in the state he lived in for vacation, in the area he lived in. (This was a planned trip like for a year before I even met him. I did tell him I was going to be there and we made plans to hang out when we were talking) When we hung out while I was there he told me he loved me and I was taken aback by the statement as he never really shown that before. knew he was protective of me but wasn't actually sure of his complete feelings for me as he said he didn't wanted a relationship at that time. Fast forward a little bit and I come back to the state we met in and we go to my towns annual city day celebration (sorry trying to keep things as private as possible) we hang out again and this time he brings a friend. Well before this when I left his state I was perplexed with what he said and was really wanting y talk to him about him saying I love you. I wanted to speak in person so hence why I made the trip to see him. Back to the story he brings a friend and we're walking around talking and making jokes and they really look like a gay couple and I was making jokes about that. Well his friend pipes up and says "well this guy right here really needs a girlfriend in his life" and I laughed it off cause he wasn't so "friendly" with me as he once was. He had a school event and left early. We never got to talk about anything and I kind of left it at that and went on with my life. We would talk every once in a while but not often. Well this guy really got my head spinnin and I could not get him off my mind, so dumb me sent him an I love you text and he replies back with "why are you telling me this now is everything okay?" And I am lost for words and don't know why I did that, but I guess deep down I was trying to get him off my mind and I told him that and I haven't heard back from him since. So I am not sure what to do at this point as he is still on my mind. Am I being delusional? It just felt so right to be with him. (As in I felt completely safe with him and for hard conversations it felt like butter talking to him about that stuff.) I guess I want to know if I should try to reach out to him again or just move on.
