Accugreen 1000

Question on spreader setting

Question on spreader setting
My soil test recommended I lay down 15 lbs per 1000 sq feet of 10-10-10 for establishment. My spreader is the Scott’s elite which says the setting for 3.6lbs per 1000 is the setting 3.25. So for 15lbs per 1000 would I do the setting 13.5? ((15/3.6)3.25)= ~13.5

Newbie here….can somebody explain to me what one half rate settings (9.7lbs/1000sqft) means? I have a Scott’s accugreen 1000 drop spreader…the pre-emergent I was going to use isn’t Scott’s so I’m not sure how to convert it over to the proper settings and confused about what I’m seeing online. Thanks

2020.09.27 02:10 papamajama Put down Scott's starter fertilizer with a Scotts Accugreen 1000 spreader and it doesnt seem like much dropped.

The bag says 3lb per 1000sf but doesn't show how to apply it. The website says something about checking the color coded map for application amounts, bu t I can't find that.
I just did my front yard and I can see some dropping out the bottom but I just finished the 2400+sf front yard and I definitely did not put down 7.5lbs of fertilizer. I would be surprised if it dropped 1lb. Should I be weighing out and putting in 7.5lbs and just keep moving until I'm out? The spreader is old but seems fine as it only gets used a couple times a year.

2020.08.15 23:08 TonyTone1985 Help with the Scott’s wizz hand spreader settings

I am trying to figure out the correct setting to set my Scott’s wizz hand broadcast spreader on to apply spectracide weed stop for lawns plus crabgrass preventer. The bag says 3.6 lbs per 1000 square feet is the desired amount to go down and also lists the Scott’s basic, deluxe, edge guard and speedyGreen all be set at 6 and Scott’s AccuGreen be set at 7 1/2. Idk of that info might help for comparison but it’s worth a shot. Any help would be appreciated!!
