Main puki gebu

GS main questions..

2024.05.14 00:21 Obvious_Traffic_2029 GS main questions..

So I've been a long time monster hunter player since the beginning. I picked this up a little less than a month ago, and have grinded nt but off, and drive for a living as well so it gives me access to material gathering a little easier you could say.
With that said, I've always loved GS, so of course I'm gonna stick with it, no matter how hard. I am. Currently hr 76, run a build consisting of the following from helmet to boots:
Weapon: datura blaze 3 8/3 puki GS
Armour: rath, anja, rath, banbaro, pink rathian.
I have seen a lot of people ranting about end game and Im feeling it get extremely challenging without an element specific GS to kill any 7* monsters. I actually just completed the Azure rathalos main quest 7* with a grade 5 legiana gs.. took a few tries but I got there.
My question boils down to this: given how extremely resource intense it is for an end game build, being a solo player what is the true best end game GS for me to use, and what builds do you reccomend..
My current one give pretty good attack output but I'm thinking of going barroth GS, and maybe changing the build before I'm too invested. Any and all thoughts, videos e.t.c. are very much appreciated šŸ™
Happy hunting everyone

Help for A4-SFX 4.1 build with 7900x + 4070 Super
Hey you awesome minipc guys!
I'm a game dev that is looking to build a portable pc for game testing purposes (mainly).
I like the specs and the price range I am in right now, but I've been out of the pc building loop for a few years, so I need a helping hand to help me avoid stupid mistakes.
This is the build I am looking at right now:
https://preview.redd.it/eavs2jslrgxc1.png?width=2924&format=png&auto=webp&s=a3ef2a2058297ca05787e504b63f15fc0c42039f
I've never been the watercooling guy, because I hate maintaining this stuff and tbh I'm scared of water near my electronics. :D In addition to that I need it to be portable, so, correct me if I'm wrong, watercooling would be stupid. I love noctua, but only because of the color. (jk) While trying to find a good case and ending up with the A4, I stumbled upon the 'Alpenfƶhn'.
https://www.caseking.de/en/dan-cases-a4-sfx-v4.1-schwarz-alpenfoehn-black-ridge-120mm-gebu-217.html?tplview=desktop
  1. Is this the go-to solution or should I stick to normal fans?
  2. How many and which fans do I need to complete the (rest of the) build?
  3. Am I missing anything here?
I appreciate any help and advice! Thanks!

2024.04.16 20:05 Pokerural Best first weapon to Level 8 and above

Before I pulled the trigger I wanted to get some feedback from the experts here...
I main LBG. I finally have my first weapon ready to level up to 8, the Tobi Lightning Blitz. As a solo player, getting the Zin LBG to any respectable level just will never happen, so I am committed to Tobi.
That said, I am not sure this is the best use of the only (4) WGS I have, since I know I will have to farm a LOT to get more WGS. Right now Pukie, Jyura, Rathian, Rathlos, and Devil are the only monsters weak to lightning. And Jyura and Devil are rare, so that leaves only (3) viable monsters to use my strongest weapon to farm. And I don't feel I see that many Rathian or Rathlos.
If instead I held onto my WGS and upgraded my Rath LBG to 8 (it's only at 6.2), then I have Jagras, Barroth, Paolu, Legi, Banbaro, and Barioth. (4) of those are extremely common to see, Legi is rare, Barrioth is on vacation. But this group seems much more viable to farm from.
My Jyura LBG is 6.6 and my Legi LBG is 7.2. Because Jyura and Legi are relatively rare, I don't think it's viable to wait to for them as my first.
And of course, the upcoming event will focus on lightning weapons, which brings me back to upgrading my Tobi LBG.
I am probably overthinking the hell out of this...

7* BBLOS Raw Hammer Perfect Run (Girros 8.1) *Sound
I feel like I won the championship šŸ˜ This goes to all my hammer bros who main a raw hammer šŸ”Ø āš”ļø itā€™s do-able!
Notes ** I imagine the ice hammer wouldā€™ve done a better job but I was a dumb-dumb and didnā€™t forge my ice hammer high enough, so I was forced to use my raw. ** For me, the key was definitely the execution more than anything else in terms of timing your evades and choosing when to commit into your big swings to disrupt and possibly proc your paralysis.
Build: Pukie Lagoon Hat 2 Maladyā€™s Fist 3 Rathalos Mail 2 Rath Soul Braces 2 Rath Heart Coil 3 Kulu Greaves 6
You can do it if youā€™re a raw main in general! Persistence and controlled aggression is key!!

2024.03.29 21:51 Etaywah Feedback and Suggestions

Overall, for Early Access, this game is very good! Well done Devs!
It's smooth and polished, easy to figure out but I can easily see the competitive challenge you created by spreading out resources and forcing factions to expand and defend large areas in order to run at optimal efficiency. I'm going to offer some suggestions, but understand that these suggestions come from a place of high interest in the game and not from a place of negativity. You guys created a killer platform for future expansion on a great idea.
Before I dive into my main change recommendation on the game which is Faction Identity, I want to name off a couple small changes:

Formations: Just 3 would do.
-Standard "Move here" which you already have.
-Toggle: Move at same speed, which would allow all your units to move as slow as their slowest unit.
-Toggle: Melee Front, ranged in back, which would allow your units to move the way they should when you're approaching a fight, so your crossbow/ranged units aren't up front when approaching a target.

-Worshippers Repair Toggle: A toggle available to individual worshippers, they worship when inactive, but automatically run around base and repair anything that needs repairing, and prioritize whatever is closest to them first. It's risk/reward because they would obviously start running off to far-away locations and getting killed if you don't have an eye on them.
-A "center camera on most recent event" hotkey. The more you press it the further back in the event queue it goes.
- A "select all units of this exact type" so I can select all wolves or all Leshy's globally by holding one button then double clicking on a single unit. I'm aware you can do this by double clicking a unit type who is currently on the main screen, I'm talking about a global "select all of this unit type" hotkey.
There are some more Quality of Life improvements I'm sure you guys are aware of, but other than those the game is fantastic!

Faction Identities:
I feel like the identities of the factions can be fleshed out more, they are too symmetric. Currently it feels like 2.5 factions that have been split into 4.
Starcraft is the easy comparison. There's no guessing who is who in Starcraft, each faction is completely different in look and playstyle. In this game each faction is a bit of a clone with different unit selections. Faction identity is of course defined by their unit/building aesthetic and their individual playstyle. I'm going to throw out some ideas for faction identity, some of these are wild ideas, some of which are asking for a lot but while using a lot of what you have. I've done video game development in the past, I realize how difficult it is to pivot, so I want to preserve a lot of the work you've done with these ideas.
If I could wave a magic wand, I would have a Holy Warrior Faction (which you have), a Feudal Human faction (which you have), a stick-and-move raiding faction (Which you have), a Mythical Beast Faction (which you already have most of the components to), and then either a Undead/blight faction or a Demon/Scorched Earth faction.

Meness feels like it's own faction, werewolves and raiding, stick-and-move tactics, perfect, love it. Maybe lean even more into the werewolf theme with architecture and clothing.
Unit Aesthetic: Think feral wolf-clan from the forest. Fur armor, giant dire-wolves, no siege weapons.
Building Aesthetic: Tree houses, certain buildings can be built into the forest tiles, allowing them to keep a tighter main base. Their buildings could blend in a bit and wouldn't be as easy to spot (maybe even an upgrade where buildings built into the forest can be selected/attacked, but don't show up on the map?), maybe cheaper buildings when built into the forest, too. This would allow them to "snipe" resource points without the traditional "walls and sentry posts" strategy of other factions. If your building gets found and destroyed, no big deal, move to another spot and try again.
They could also maybe grow forests instead of walls. These forests could be attacked the same as walls. Maybe certain specific raiding units can move through the forests when out of combat.

Ausrine and Saule could be merged into one faction - Holy Warrior faction, you could even turn them into an elven faction. I'm thinking an Evil Holy-Elf faction focused on healing spells and turning people to their faith.
Unit and Building Aesthetic: Already done. Maybe get away from the Witch hut and give them their own building based on holy priests, maybe a magical lion instead of the Pukis.

Michael is the .5 faction I mentioned, they look just like Ausrine and Saule to me, but obviously way more upgrade-focused - Feudal Humans. Upgrading and Sacrificing units is a solid identity for them because it goes in line with the "Feudal Lords mixed with expendable serfs" feel.
I would actually replace Michael with a Horse-Back Warrior God, or replace him with Saule.
A flying angel of death doesn't make sense to me overseeing a faction that is mostly based around upgrading feudal-style army units, but a Devine Priestess overseeing Feudal Knights who are ready to die for her makes a lot more sense.

Faction Suggestions:
Mythical Beasts - You already have some of this with the Pukis, Leshy, Cockatrice, and Spigana. The whole faction is based around pumping out large raid-boss monsters and smaller support units from the witch hut who deal damage, healing and buffing the rampaging monsters.
Unit Aesthetic: Self explanatory, big beasts and support units to keep them rampaging.
Building Aesthetic: Witch Hut, monster caves, Alka, Dragon Spire for an end-game dragon unit.

Blight or Demonic faction: For these examples I'm going to go with demonic instead of blight, but blight would be equally cool. It's a counter-faction based around destroying the lands around them.
Scorched Earth: Sort of like the Zerg Creep effect, they spread their land by changing it to Scorched Earth, a fiery area of hell-stricken land where most other factions cannot build unless the area has lost it's demonic presence. Instead of harvesting trees, they burn them to the ground and harvest the ash and burned wood. This opens up their choke-points, making them more vulnerable, but the Scorched Earth could also be upgraded to deal damage over time, cause debuffs, reduce healing, buff their units while on Scorched Earth.
Faction hero: A Flying Sacrificial Demon with fire spells, I would repurpose Michael for this and turn him into a Demon God.
Unit Aesthetic: Demons of all type. Tiny harassing little imps. Axe-carrying bull-demons are the foot soldiers. Long range fire-casters, rampaging demon beasts, units that can spread scorched earth around the map by burning down forests, allowing for the harassment of other faction's ability to gather wood. Forests would grow back over time after scorched earth goes away. Healing spells could cure scorched earth, etc.
Building Aesthetic: Pits of hell that spawn units from underneath the earth. Fiery caves, bull-demon huts, population cap is based on the amount of scorched earth you're covering, no houses. Instead of walls you can create mountains jutting up from the earth so they can create choke-points like the other factions.
Yes I know, I know, this is asking for a lot - but Starcraft is king because it's 3 games in one. Bored of Zerg? Well then go play Terrans with a whole new playstyle. Think you're good at Holy Warriors? Well here's a Demonic faction who is great at scorched earth tactics to challenge all your strategies.

All that aside - great game! Looking forward to seeing what you have in store!

2024.03.05 15:59 AHGottlieb Hsalukas, my newest conlang.

Invented for a book Iā€™m developing a world for that is very rocky and sandy with oases called Wells, or Uth. This language would be scraped into slate tablets.
Important words Uth - Well Usan - wategod Abe - wanderer Abas - shaman Thus - the cactus like plant thatā€™s the main food source/alternate source of water Zatu - makes sentence a question, contextual Hsalakus - sand walker, people and the language
Names function as such:
Job, Signifier, City of Origin
Jobs are societal functions, like a shaman, a gatherer, a builder, a a fire-tender etc
Abas, Gebu, Bagan, Lumesā€¦
Children are called Tuku (youngling) and those too old to work are called Ebu (elder)
Signifiers are simple characteristics that make an individual unique. Some known examples are white eyes (typical Hsalukas have yellow eyes), black spots on the face, large hands, being very smart, or being strong
Ben, Usul, Lute, Bakura, Bakutu
City of Origin is the place where the individual was born, or inhabits.
All cities start with Uth, the word for Well, then a landmark, event, or special characteristic.
Uthbasa - Black Well Uthgeluna - Great Southern Well Uthnalat - Dry Well Uthkushan - The Strangers Well Uthzate - Poison Well
So a male Hsalukas gatherer with abnormally large hands from the city of Black Well would be:
Gebu Lute Uthbasa
Zatu khuba Abe Uthbasa (Question) walk wanderer black Well Why did you come to the Black Well, wanderer?
The alphabet itself is an invention of the main character in universe. Before him it was solely spoken. What do you think?

2024.02.26 07:43 SketchySquidd Thoughts and feelings 60 hours into the game

So I'm not sure where to put this but I've been ruminating for a while and I wanted to get this out somewhere so I figured Reddit might be a nice place to get some feedback (the monster hunter community is a decent one right?).
Anyway, I recently decided to pick the game up again because I wanted a higher skill ceiling game and I've always admired this series' monsters and designs. So far I have sunk in 64 hours but I actually have a profile for 4 years ago that I got 34 hours into. In my previous attempt in the game, I played solo and only touched the hammer, I quit right before highrank because I was intimidated by Rathalos and I couldn't get him while he was flying (hammer can't bonk up high). Also looking back at that old play through I was a dumbass because I decided to grind Odagaron for some reason and make a full set of their armor, and I used it for everything. I clearly didn't understand a lot of the game mechanics and I think that overwhelmed me. I decided it would be different with this run.
So I kicked this run off with decision paralysis, none of the weapons spoke to me as Le Bonk did but I didn't wanna have a repeat of last time. I chose Insect Blade because it had a lot of fun movement options and while the Kinsect scared me at first I actually really enjoyed upgrading them and seeing their new forms. I managed to get over the high rank bump (yay!) I was really excited to see the new gear and monsters, but it introduced me to alpha and beta armor, and now I have to hunt the monsters I already hunted. I was in the puki puki in Wildspire Quest remembering feeling confused, maybe a little upset but mostly excited, and then I get fucking carpet bombed. I was terrified but also, NEW MATS. That's what I thought but I proceeded to get my shit rocked several times. I was on the verge of quitting like last time because I didn't know what to do, but I tried to adapt.
So the first thing I did to adapt was get a loadout going for quests, demon drug, powder, and might seed. I sorted out all the organization and everything. The second part of adapting Is based on what I saw in a video about how the defense is actually a good skill past what people usually use it for and I decided that I would never get hurt again. I went Lance, and I prioritized defense, guard, and health boost. the stereotype for Lance players from what I understand. and great! Now I'm blasting through the quests again, but it feels like I'm piling on homework I had basically all of my optionals done up to high rank but I was suddenly inundated with all the optionals for all the monsters I've already hunted before and idk it feels bad. When I unlock elders recess it gets worse, I find a new monster so cool time to kill 'em. and then they run into a new area and... there's another new monster so I try to fight but the heat is killing me so I ditch. and I wander into a crystal cave and THERES ANOTHER NEW GUY WTF. I really liked being introduced to the monsters one by one in the previous quests but this was really overwhelming especially since each had a cinematic attached to it. I get around to killing Nergigante before even touching any of the new monsters which btw was fucking heart pounding, again I am solo and I managed to use my farcaster just before they kicked my shit in. but I managed to kill him that hunt and I felt great. I killed my first elder dragon... wow really cool now I have to go kill three more god damn it. I think the intention was for me to try and get the other hunts in while searching for their traces while on other hunts but my dumbass already found most of the research needed for them in my attempts to kill bagelgoose.
so here I am today writing this post, I actually completed a bunch of optionals and have killed 2 of the elder dragons, the vaal husk guy and incineroar with wings. the game is still super fun and I am still having a blast but after getting to the new high rank quests I've been feeling really overwhelmed and intimidated, and miffed tbh. ever since then, I have had big monsters come to kill me outta nowhere, monsters I'm hunting in an expedition leave, and felt scared to continue the main quests. all of these are skill issues and I'm managing the first two but I think I'm feeling scared since high rank is because my prior knowledge of the game ran out and now I'm flying blind. I also get the feeling that I'm not at the point the game wants me to be at. for example, I've unlocked Deco armor or whatever it is called but I can only craft the Winter Fest armor. It also gave me an optional special quest to kill the pickle which I'm terrified of. I also just found out about the arena quests, because I never go up to the gathering hub. Idk maybe I'm venting at this point but it's like there's a whole lot of stuff in the game the game just thinks I should know and I don't. like I only figured out that you can get a flying monster out of the sky with Flashpods because it was in a video about inventory management. It feels like since high rank I kind of lost all of my progress because my scout fly stuff doubled its research cap, tons of new optionals, and more everything.
So now that I guess you have all that context and my feelings I have, I wonder what other people think about this. Is there anything that felt similar? Is there anything else I'm missing? I'm trying to keep a positive mindset going forward about learning the new monsters moves and telegraphs because ultimately I find this game super addictive and fun. oh, also should I try out multiplayer? I never tried because I have borderline crippling anxiety and never wanted to get in anyone's way also they don't explain it super well.
Anyway thank you for reading my short essay I guess. also, I got the prehistoric fish and I feel super cool.

2024.01.27 20:50 DeliveryPutrid8491 NG+++ and stuck

So Iā€™ve finished the main quest three times so 8* monsters are now available. But thatā€™s the problem!! Iā€™m up to Kulu on the main quest and canā€™t seem to beat this stupid bird with my current weapons. My water SnS is fully maxed at 7.5 and I canā€™t actually upgrade past that till I get 3 more Whyvern Gem Shards (got the first one from a quest reward).
So if anyone else is up to stage of the game or past it, can you please give me some pointers or tips that helped you push through. Iā€™ve tried tackling 8* Jagras, Girros and Pukie and can just BARELY beat them!

2023.12.09 05:45 Salt_Ad_5578 How to color and seal bake clay (not polymer but actual oven-baked clay) so it looks professional/almost ceramic/nice/sellable?? This is a big one. More explaination below

Hello everyone! I am by no means a professional clay sculpture/artist/potter. But. I do know a bit more, I'd argue than the average person and I took several classes in school whilst homeschooled for 2 years in middle school. (One for actual clay and one for polymer clay) and I've used air dry and oven bake clay before, as well as polymer and foam clay. So I'm not necessarily a noob, just more or less inexperienced.
I felt like I should put that haha!! Especially since I plan on selling my projects!
But, I have another question before I get into the bigger part of the explanation as well and share my story.
So: I know a wee bit about vitrification and the entire process, (including other elements such as nontoxic and metal free glazes and such) of making things microwave, dishwasher, oven, and food safe. Obviously with oven-baked clay, some of those elements are restricted (vitrification mainly). So, is it impossible to have at least a food safe handwasheable bowl using oven-baked clay (not polymer)?
...
I plan on mostly making planters (molded from my own planters), beads (finished and unfinished), sometimes bowls utilizing a "puki" (just a plastic bowl and some fabric tbh).
Some of the beads will be made from polymer clay as well as the oven bake clay. I also plan on using polymer clay to make a bunch of cute charms, faux candy for faux candy dishes/jars, and maybe some cute little characters.
I plan on mostly providing beads, faux candy, and small planters utilizing moulds. (I was taught how to do all of this).
(honestly let me know if I sound dumb and there's no difference between these and I'm going to have to bite the bullet and use air-dry clay and wait 3 weeks plus in between the start of each craft and the end of it (finishing it)).
The problems I face are trying to figure out if I can A) make the bowls dishwasher, food, microwave, and oven safe some way (doubtful), B) the best way to give them color (I really want them to be nice and colorful for kids or to make a cute bowl or planter set, or just have colorful options, plus my mom really wants some items when I start making them and she wants a set of 5-8 green bowls), and C) the best way to seal them so that they look nice (few to no paint brush marks), professional, and sellable (even color and finish).
I was also wondering if there was any colorful sealants out there that resemble glaze? I can only find white and clear finishes. Sometimes opaque white, but that's not helpful either.
I know these will never really look like actual ceramics but I want them to still look as nice as possible. I want potential future customers to be wowed by the durability, quality, and appearance of each item.
I'm doing this for mental health, personal, and hobbyist reasons, but I would like to earn enough money to cover all the costs and break even, and a little bit more so that I can have some pocket change.
I can't work at the moment because I'm caring for my dad for the next year-year in a half. But I absolutely have enough free time to do my own thing as well, since I'm not providing 24 hours care, I'm just helping make sure he takes his insulin, anti-rejections, and does all the self-care things the doctor wants him to be doing (waking up at a decent time, light physical excersize, engaging in some sedentary-based hobby (gaming or watching videos or doing puzzles), and has the motivation to get in the shower frequently as well.) Basically babysitting him and ensuring he's not in pain, or doesn't try to do too much and injure himself more. Maybe that's what babysitting is though šŸ˜œ
But yeah, I just want to do something else other than stay at home and be bored all day, I need to work or even "work" (aka craft hehe), and ensure I have a little bit of money to feed my own makeup, plant, and gummy bear addictions lol. Plus, I think my adorable ideas will make people really happy, and that alone would make this all worth it to me.
...
Thank you all for your suggestions and help! Tia!! šŸ˜œšŸ¤ž

2023.11.20 21:40 withhimican 8* Diablos Urgent Quest Help

8* Diablos Urgent Quest Help
I am unable to defeat or even get Diablos in the red. What am I doing wrong?
Current setup: HR 111 (only adding to show that I have experience playing) Ice bow 7.5 Ice: 3 WE: 2 Focus: 2 Burst: 2
Do not use but have: Divine Blessing: 2 Last stand: 1 Lock on: 1
I can defeat every 8* except Diablos with no issues. Other bows I have at 7.5 with element gear are water, fire (rathio), and thunder. Currently working on Puki which is 6.5 with full focus 5 burst 2 gear.
Mechanics: I fully understand all of Diablos attacks and 99% of the time have no issue dodging. The main issues seems to either be DPS or targeting.
The Fight: 1.) I stand still and charge all the way. 2.) Once Diablo charges I swipe left and unleash on wing. 3.) repeat (or use charged special) 4.) Diablos digs and I get a charge 3 off on tail (not full charge). 5.) 2 back swipes and a left and then repeat same strategy until I run out of time with Diablos still having a 1/3 of itā€™s health.
My failed solutions: -I have tried targeting the horns with worse results. -I have tried attacking from behind but get hit most of the time and waist way too much time getting behind. -I use both charged specials on a ā€œtry hardā€ attempt and I often get worse results than when I do a non special run.
Any help would be appreciated.
Yes, I have read other posts about clearing 8* urgent diablos and that is why I switched to attacking the wings but still not even close.
