2024.05.19 15:09 Imekan_udohaya Rollux Layer 2 Efficiency: Accelerating Blockchain Transactions

Blockchain scalability has been a persistent challenge, hindering widespread adoption and real-world use cases. Rollux, a Layer 2 solution built on Syscoin, aims to address this issue by significantly improving efficiency and transaction throughput. In this analytical article, we'll dissect Rollux's efficiency, its underlying mechanisms, and the implications for the broader blockchain ecosystem.
Understanding Rollux's Efficiency
  1. Layer 2 Scaling:
    • Rollux operates as a Layer 2 protocol, sitting atop Syscoin's Layer 1 blockchain. This architectural choice allows Rollux to leverage the security of Bitcoin's Proof of Work (PoW) consensus while enhancing transaction efficiency⁴.
    • By processing transactions off the main Syscoin blockchain, Rollux reduces congestion and latency, resulting in faster confirmation times.
  2. Batch Processing:
    • Rollux employs a rollup-based approach. Multiple transactions are bundled together and settled in a single batch, significantly increasing throughput.
    • This batching mechanism reduces the computational overhead associated with individual transactions, leading to more efficient use of network resources.
  3. Near-Instant Confirmations:
    • Rollux's efficiency translates to near-instant transaction confirmations. Users experience minimal waiting times, making blockchain interactions seamless and practical for everyday use.
    • Whether it's transferring value, minting NFTs, or executing smart contracts, Rollux's efficiency ensures timely settlement.
Implications and Benefits
  1. User Experience Enhancement:
    • Faster transactions lead to a smoother user experience. Rollux's efficiency makes blockchain technology more accessible and user-friendly.
    • DeFi platforms, gaming applications, and real-time data feeds can thrive on Rollux, providing users with seamless interactions.
  2. Cost Savings:
    • Efficient transactions mean lower fees. Rollux's Layer 2 solution offers cost-effective transfers, making it an attractive choice for businesses and individuals.
    • DeFi users, in particular, benefit from reduced gas fees, enabling more frequent interactions without breaking the bank.
  3. Competitive Edge:
    • In a competitive blockchain landscape, efficiency matters. Rollux's transaction speed and scalability give it an edge over traditional Layer 1 networks.
    • As more projects explore Layer 2 solutions, Rollux's efficiency positions it as a frontrunner for mass adoption.
Challenges and Considerations
  1. Security Balance:
    • Rollux must maintain the rigorous security standards of Syscoin's Layer 1 while providing faster transaction times.
    • Ensuring that speed doesn't compromise security remains a top priority.
  2. Network Reliability:
    • Rollux's efficiency should be consistent under varying conditions and loads. Users expect reliable high-speed transactions even during peak usage.
  3. Interoperability:
    • Rollux's compatibility with other blockchains and Layer 1 networks is crucial for widespread adoption.
    • Seamless interaction between Rollux and Syscoin's Layer 1 ensures a cohesive ecosystem.
Rollux's Layer 2 efficiency represents a significant leap forward in blockchain scalability. By optimizing transaction processing, Rollux paves the way for a more efficient and user-friendly blockchain experience. As the ecosystem evolves, Rollux's impact on DeFi, NFTs, and real-world applications will continue to grow, making it a key player in the blockchain revolution.
Rollux's efficiency is a critical factor in shaping the future of blockchain technology. Its ability to handle high transaction volumes while maintaining security and cost-effectiveness positions it as a powerful solution for the challenges faced by Layer 1 networks. As the crypto community embraces Layer 2 solutions, Rollux's role in accelerating blockchain adoption cannot be overstated.

I’ve found the following for skipping the frog in the lily pad game in case helpful: 1st try: ad 2nd try: 30 coins 3rd try: 60 coins 4th try: 100 coins 5th try: 250 coins
If you quit the game it saves where you left off. So you can play for some more coins and go back. If you quit and forget to go back till the next day you do get an ad on the first try the next day but next you get as many coins as you had left off on the day before

New Dinosaur Idea: Jurassic Park's Troodon pectinodon
Quarentine Pen's Security Camera
I made another post talking about these creatures, but I wanted to repost it in a summary and with photos of the Troodon 3D moddel.
Troodon pectinodon was created by Dr. Laura Sorkin without filling in the DNA gaps with frog genetic material, resulting in these monstrosities. They are small nocturnal theropods, which have binocular vision and the ability to see clearly in the dark. Furthermore, its bite is venomous, and its toxins cause hallucinations and violent impulses, convulsions and spasms, and muscle paralysis and brain death
This terrifying creatures could be added to Jurassic World: The Game as Troodons Gen 2.
Would you like to see this monstrous being in the game?

2024.05.19 13:21 cscq201931 Itchy arm

My character had an itchy arm for a while that burst into bugs and then remained an itchy arm until I healed the thing by taking anti-fungal drugs, anti-parasitic drugs, antibiotics, and putting antiseptic on the arm all at the same time. Before that I had taken some anti-fungal drugs and used some antibiotics but nothing happened, because I know the fungal infection begins with itchy skin and thought this was similar. I've never seen something like this in the game. Were the bugs that burst out supposed to be a new mechanic about maggots or something, because the arm was injured before the itchy arm status started and I didn't immediately dress the wound and they didn't show up in the game at all when they busted out of the arm? I didn't bump into anything that could have caused something like this except maybe a giant scorpion I dissected which had worm parasites in it, but a text prompt said they all looked at my character for a bit and then scurried off so I don't think they infected my character with something.

2024.05.19 13:01 DagonTheranis Honestly, I think having Experience Gain on the cloak was a mistake.

Now, before everyone jumps down my throat here - no, I'm not saying that I think the MoP Remix doesn't have some big flaws. High-level scaling is definitely broken in half, and for a time-limited mode, the bronze gain could definitely be a bit more generous, especially since we know that many WoW players are obsessive completionists at heart. That being said, though, I think that the biggest mistake that's been made in the remix is definitely giving players a way to farm to increase exp gains.
WoW players are the epitome of the phrase "Given the chance, players will optimise the fun out of a game". We've seen it in original MoP on the Timeless Isle, we've seen it in Shadowlands covenant choices, we've seen it in plenty of other places - a not-insignificant chunk of WoW's playerbase will always prioritise efficiency over enjoyment. I'm not trying to disparage those people; there's a give-and-take element here of the game respecting your own time, and that has to be considered. But it is a known fact. Which means that having not just experience gain on the cloak, but farmable experience gain, has taken an existing problem and compounded it.
With the cloak, players have something to optimise that then fast-tracks optimising the fun out of the rest of the experience at an exponential rate. There's been power-levelling strategies in every expansion - but it's never been so clear, up-front, and in many ways the focus of an event. That's why, less than 3 days, we're already seeing players claiming that they "have" to farm frogs - because the exp gains on the cloak have incentivised optimising the experience of the Remix to try and spend the minimum time playing possible, fun be damned, from the get-go, in a playerbase that's already obsessed with optimisation.
I don't think that the Remix shouldn't have some form of EXP buff - it is an event for content that's coming up to 12 years old now - but maybe it should have been a flat 50%, or 100%, or something that stays the same for all players?

2024.05.19 12:38 HedgehawkUK Trying to Create Tactics with minimal knowledge

Trying to Create Tactics with minimal knowledge
Hi All,
So I should preface this by pointing out that my knowledge of Football is lower than low. If I had a star rating, I would somehow have negative stars. I am trying each year to learn a little bit more. I can now remember the position abbreviations off by heart. and I kind of understand what they do. Roles are still giving me a headache.
In my brain I want to just do a 4-4-2 and do control possession. As in my head that should wok. But I know football has moved on from all that. So trying to come up with tactics. Which leads me to my tactic. My assistant Manager suggested the style and I had a crack at building the rest. I am unsure if it will actually work though.
Full size version - https://imgur.com/a/4v6g1pV
Is this actually any good? I am trying to see if it will work. How will I know if doesn't? And how do I start trying to dissect it?
My instincts are telling me the following:
  1. I need another GK, just in case, and if they are better even better.
  2. I have far too many central defenders and should probably look at releasing one or two.
  3. I might have too many strikers as well given my tactic only uses one?
  4. Maybe I need to add an extra Winger option?
Again. Apologies if what I have said is completely wrong and contradictory! I usually play strategy games! I can tell you how to win WW2 and build civilisations, but 11 players on a pitch is a bit much!

2024.05.19 12:18 CuriousAnachronism 24 [M4M] Germany/Europe/Online - Fiat iustitia, et pereat mundus

Prologue

Hello and welcome to my post. I will subdivide this into two large parts. One will cover my thoughts, feelings, my hopes and dreams...While the other will tell you the specifics of how I pass the time, what topics interest me, what passions do I posses. I believe that at the end of this leap into my inner world, you dear reader, will have all the necessary information to judge whether we are compatible or not.

Part I
I am writing this in the hopes of finding something that I lack. Lately I have had this feeling, this tinge of melancholy within the dephts of my being, this yearning to find a kindred spirit, another Soul, much like mine, to form a bond with. Perhaps Loneliness is the right word for what is bothering me, but to use it seems to carry with it a connotation of ungratefulness. Ungratefulness for the people that I do have in my life, although none of them, of course, have the connection to me that I seek here.

I have found it increasingly necessary to seek in this Life a sort of purity of thought. What I mean is, I have began to undestand what ideas and concepts are ultimately compatible with my inner most Self, ergo what guidelines I have to follow to feel the most whole. Naturally I have likewise realised what I cannot add to my Self and what I will henceforth reject with all the power that I posses.

With this new context in mind, I now follow on the path of self improvement. I will now begin to mold my Self into my perfected idea of how the Self should be. This is certainly a significant undertaking, one that will not be easy to follow through on but one that I ultimately have to do. To me such context is essential. It is akin to a Guiding Star shining in the night. I will follow this Star for without it I am lost in the vast Darkness.

Looking back at my life, it was suboptimal, especially if one compares the way it molded me to how I will now mold myself. I suppose I must look on with a hint of regret at all that time which one might consider to be lost. Still... I try to stave off such decisively negative interpretations, after all, I have ultimately came to these conclusions. That means that somewhere along the line I had to have picked up on enough of such ideas for them to become so cemented in my consciousness. Well, either that or I was always like this, but in that case I can at least thank my life up to this point for not being able to supress such manifestations of my inner most Self.

To add to the topic of my life, I must admit that not all the battles have yet been won, not all the Demons vanquished, not every Mountain climbed. I want you to keep such things in mind when deciding whether or not to approach me. Many will shy away, I undestand that much, but the pursuit of true Companionship is just another such battle. Having said all that I do believe that being able to overcome hurdles together carries with it a certain appeal. That is to say, what's the fun in joining once the Game is already over?

I don't shy away from such challenges, perhaps to a fault. Certain troubles that I faced in the past carry with them a long shadow over my current health and well being. Still, I intend to change little in this regard other than the proficiency with which I will clash the current of my Will against the cliffs of Life.
Part II
In this part of my post I will tell you about my interests and hobbies, I will try to be thorough, commonality in this regard is rather important to build a relationship
History. I have had an interest in history for almost a decade now, it started back in school and developed from there. Well, now that I think about it one could argue that it started even earlier in my life as I liked watching the odd historic documentary or film aired on television but it wasn't regular back then, I never actively sought it out. I am mostly interested in European history in the period between the 18th-20th century but I sometimes branch out to other time periods and other parts of the world. I watch various channels related to history and read articles and sometimes books. I have recently got a few books on the German revolution of 1848/1849 and a historical magazine on the Thirty Years' War. Besides that I try to visit museums sometimes.
Literature. Especially old novels. I like to immerse myself in the Worlds of these books, I tend to read them while listening to thematically fitting music and take my time with them. One time you are following a troubled Youth in his quest for spiritual understanding of the world, another you see the aged and decrepit Doctor gambling his very Soul on the promises of abtaining satisfaction in earthy pleasures, then again your olfaction notices the most pleasant scent known to man even as the one eminating it has the appearance of a revolting Frog. These and many other stories open up to you once you decide to set foot into the literary World.
Languages. I know three, with one being a bit rusty. I am currently working intently on strengthening it. I believe that if I continue to apply myself in this regard then I should be able to finally conquer it. What language am I working on? Well, if you were to stack all the major works in it they would be as tall as a house... It is fun to go through different works in multiple languages, the same goes for film, games and such.
Games. I recently played Cyberpunk 2077. Well as recently as I played any major story centric game. Now that the dust has settled and the bugs mostly removed...It's not that bad. The main questline at least. Besides that I tried Fallout 76 (Very average, I'm dissapointed with what they made the "RPG" system) and I might give Deus Ex Manking Divided another spin (since it's somewhat similar to Cyberpunk when it comes to its aesthetics). Dark Souls is one of my favorite series, I still haven't beaten Elden Ring though. When it came out I wasn't in the right mindset to invest a hundred hours into it, with all those bosses and difficult locations. I think I'll only consider playing it if I am streaming it to someone. I am generally interested in either streaming games or having the person I am talking to stream them to me. To be specific I mean streaming to a single person while being on call. Besides that I'm a big fan of Paradox strategy games, especially Europa Universalis IV and Heats of Iron IV, I tend to only play single player since I find multiplayer with many people to be rather stressful but on the other hand I have nothing against a co-op game. I'm not the best player though, despite the ammount of hours I have in them. Another great game I would mention would be Dragon's Dogma. A very underrated RPG. I recently beat it again and it was an atmospheric and interesting experience. It is one of those games that feel like they have an endless ammount of depth and constant new secrets to discover.
Anime and Manga. In recent times my interest in them has waned but I still watch the occasional series here and there. Like Cyberpunk Edgerunners (Which I found to be rather mediocre) and the very good first season from the new arc of Bleach. Some of my favourite series include: Fullmetal Alchemist Brotherhood, Death Note, Fate;Zero, Psycho Pass, Code Geass and Attack on Titan. I wouldn't mind if you were to introduce me to some new series, maybe based on the ones I mentioned. My favourite Manga is Berserk which I still follow, althought I am still not certain on the direction that the new author is taking. I suppose it really is a matter of contention whether a somewhat (or considerably warped) vision is better than an unfinished work. One could argue that a few novels remain unfinished and possess a macabre appeal to them as such.
Music. Classical music has a very special place in my heart. A few of my favourite pieces would be: Clair de Lune, Nocturne Op. 9 No.2, Devil's Trill Sonata, Danse Macabre, Valse Sentimentale, Symphony No. 7 in A Major, Op. 92: II. Alegreto (by Beethoven) and Suite from Swan Lake, Op. 20a: I. Scene. Moderato. There are more but these ones always invoke something in me when I listen to them. Besides Classical I also enjoy listening to Synthwave, old Western pop and J-pop, both modern and from the 20th century.
Esotericism. I am interested in things spiritual, mystical, magical and esoteric. I have read religios texts, magical grimoires, introductions to various schools of thought. It is interesting to me.
Epilogue
Hopefully I was able to cast the spotlight upon my inner World in a clear and unequivocal manner. I feel the need to add to the aforementioned that I am rather introverted, which means that I tend to dislike large social gatherings. I managed to condition myself to be able to endure the presense of large groups of people but it isn't something that I would seek out in most cases. Besides that I am neurodivergent and suffer from certain issues with mental health. I have to take medication to keep myself under control. They work well enough but certain days are harder than others. I respect the struggle that others have with mental health but in the context of a relationship I have my limits, no one with BDP for instance. I am also not looking for anything casual. I understand than one cannot demand depth and meaning from a conversation with an absolute stranger, that is akin to trying to build a sand castle right before the waves strike but I ask at least that you enter with a mindset that this might become something of significance. I also do want to say that I am completely Monogamous. My preference? The sickly, pale, intellectual who watches rain droplets slide down the window in Autumn. Lastly, if I enjoy the company of a person I tend to not want to let them go.
Thank you for taking the time to read my post and have a good day. I ask that you send a DM instead of a chat and that you give the English translation of my title as your own.
Goodbye...Or perhaps untill we meet again

2024.05.19 11:01 pipted Universal Studios Japan day report, with kids aged 8 and 11

I thought I’d add a trip report for Universal Studios Japan as I found some of this detail was hard to find online (e.g. the opening time!) My husband and kids (aged 8 and 11) visited USJ on a weekday in mid April.
Tickets: All purchased through Klook without any problems. Printed at home to save the hassle of flicking through four passes on my phone every time. We bought the 7 Express Pass which was worth every cent. We also bought the Early Entry studio pass, designed to let us in 15 minutes early. That wasn’t entirely accurate, see paragraph below!
Entry times: We had read online that the park opens an hour before the posted time. Not today! The posted time was 9am, and we turned up at 8:15. The park opened at around 8:40. At this time, the regular lines and the Early Entry lines opened all at once. But it was still definitely worth buying the Early Entry pass, because the lines were much, MUCH shorter. If you’re using an Early Entry pass, just show the attendants when you turn up and they’ll direct you to the Early Entry lines.
Super Nintendo World: We had already reserved an entry time for Super Nintendo World at 10:50 through our express passes, but we didn’t want to wait. We checked the app as we walked in at 8:50, and we could get an entry time to SNW at 9:10. We went straight there, lined up, and they let us in 15 minutes early! We found the same for all of our express passes too: They would allow us in at least 10 minutes earlier. Perhaps it’s because it wasn’t a particularly crowded day (still crowded, but not a weekend or holiday). In brief, SNW is everything you’ve seen online, but so spectacular in person.
SNW power up bands: We bought these at the first kiosk, but should’ve followed the advice online and walked further into the area. There were power up band kiosks with no queues inside. We didn’t really get much value for money out of these: the kids had fun hitting the blocks and coins and interacting with them a little on the rides, but they couldn’t be bothered to wait in the long queues for the more elaborate games. There’s a big challenge which requires playing several games to collect keys to enter a boss level. It probably would have taken an extra hour or two, but we were ready to go on more rides.
Jaws: We went on this next, but there was no need for a fast pass as the queue was very short. It was entertaining enough despite being in Japanese. We would have preferred to ride the Hollywood roller coaster; our 7 express pass had that as an alternative to Jaws, but unfortunately it’s currently closed.
Minions Mayhem: This was the best 3D movie ride I had ever been on (until we went on Soaring at DisneySea!). Both are excellent. The intro videos have English subtitles; the main 3D movie ride didn’t, but there wasn’t much dialogue. Very fun, enjoyed by all. Walked past the other Minions ride, Freeze Ray Sliders, but looked like a version of spinning teacups, not worth the ever-lengthening queue times.
Mario Kart: Koopa’s Challenge: Probably our favourite ride for the day. It’s a combination ride / 3D movie / interactive experience with virtual goggles – worth every bit for the express pass, and worth the queue if you don’t have an express pass!
Yoshi’s Adventure: Very much a young kids’ ride and can be skipped! Even our kids looked bored. There are good views, but not much that you can’t see elsewhere. (As an aside, the two best views of the not-yet-opened Donkey Kong Country were found at the peak of the Flight of the Hippogriff rollercoaster, and on the Tempozan Ferris Wheel which we visited the day before.)
Flying Dinosaur: Our 11-year-old doesn’t like extreme roller coasters, but our 8-year-old was unsure as she has liked some bigger roller coasters before. We decided that my husband and I would ride it while the kids watched (and took videos, hilarious) and we could tell her afterwards if it was too scary. DEFINITELY too scary, haha. I love roller coasters, and I closed my eyes in parts. I’m so glad I did it, but it’s not for the faint-of-heart.
Jurassic Park meet and greet: We happened to walk past as the dinosaurs were coming out. Cute for the kids, but not worth structuring your day around. I wish the Jurassic Park log flume ride was open, but it’s currently still closed.
Waterworld: We queued for this 20 minutes before show time, but we needn’t have bothered, as the seating area was huge. They were still letting people in as the performance began, and none were having trouble finding seats. We could have chosen the front row, but we sat slightly behind the ‘splash zone’ so we wouldn’t get wet. Sitting higher up afforded a better view too, but views would have been good from anywhere. The plot was simple enough to follow without understanding Japanese – fun and good for a long rest for our already tired feet!
Hogsmeade: Utterly stunning, all of it: The shops, the food, the performances (singing frogs and magical beasts turned up regularly). We ate at the Three Broomsticks, which appeared crowded with a long queue, but with an app to order, it cleared quickly enough. There were plenty of empty tables out the back, with a view across the lake to Hogwarts! My kids had wanted to try butterbeer for so long, but it was sickly sweet, like bubbly maple syrup. It was quite difficult to find a place to dispose of the rest of the drink so we could take the souvenir cups home, but eventually we just dumped the contents in the bathroom sink.
Interactive wands: These were much better value for our kids, and they took part in five of the seven interactive spells before exhaustion hit at the end of the day. The first (wingardium leviosa!) was not being managed by staff, so it was hard to get it to work. It had about a 50% success rate. The later ones were all managed by very kind and patient staff (who also happened to speak excellent English) who allowed each guest to keep trying until it worked. It meant the queues were slow-moving, but most were short enough, and my kids were happy to wait while they watched others attempting the spells.
Harry Potter and the Forbidden Journey: We were so excited for this one, but it scared both my kids a bit! The 8-year-old because of the giant dementors (both on-screen and big animatronics), and the 11-year-old because the chair actually tipped a really long way back and forward. She was worried we would go right upside-down, but we didn’t. It was a lot more intense than we had expected. I really loved it, but be careful if you have sensitive kids.
Flight of the Hippogriff: This is a pretty tame roller coaster, and I’m not sure why people would queue two hours for it. The kids loved it, though. One warning: my six foot tall husband had to be moved to the front row as his legs didn’t fit!
Minions Mayhem again: We noticed on the app that there was only a 10 minute queue for Minions Mayhem, so my husband and 8-year-old had another go. A 10 minute queue means no queue at all, as it takes 10 minutes to walk through and watch the intro videos. We checked the app, and all the more popular rides still had huge queues, so decided to call it a day.
All up, we were there from opening to 6pm, and were utterly exhausted by the end of it. Plan a quieter day for afterwards, if you can! And we were very jealous of the people staying in the hotel right by the park – in hindsight it would have been worth the extra packing and unpacking to shift to that hotel for the night before and/or after.

2024.05.19 10:58 koshikmarketing Why Coaches Need Social Media Management.

Why Coaches Need Social Media Management. In the realm of sports, where every move, victory, and even loss is dissected, discussed, and debated, the role of a coach extends far beyond the sidelines. In the digital age, where social media platforms serve as arenas for fans, athletes, and pundits to engage, coaches find themselves navigating an entirely new playing field. The need for coaches to have a robust social media presence and effective management cannot be overstated. Let’s explore why Coaches Need Social Media Management.

1. Connection with Fans (Why Coaches Need Social Media Management)

Gone are the days when a coach's interactions with fans were limited to post-game interviews and the occasional press conference. Social media platforms offer coaches a direct line of communication with their fan base, allowing them to share insights, engage in conversations, and foster a sense of community. By regularly posting updates, behind-the-scenes glimpses, and words of encouragement, coaches can forge stronger connections with supporters, enhancing fan loyalty and engagement.

2. Recruiting Power (Why Coaches Need Social Media Management)

Recruiting is the lifeblood of any sports program, and social media has become a crucial tool in the recruitment process. Coaches can use platforms like Twitter, Instagram, and LinkedIn to showcase their program's culture, facilities, and success stories. By strategically leveraging social media, coaches can attract top talent, engage with prospects, and stay top-of-mind throughout the recruiting cycle.

3. Brand Building (Why Coaches Need Social Media Management)

Just as athletes have personal brands, so too do coaches. Social media offers coaches a platform to shape and enhance their personal brand, positioning themselves as thought leaders, motivators, and mentors within their respective sports communities. Consistent, authentic, and engaging content can help coaches establish credibility, gain visibility, and differentiate themselves in a crowded field.

4. Crisis Management (Why Coaches Need Social Media Management)

In today's digital landscape, a single tweet or viral video can quickly escalate into a full-blown crisis. Whether it's addressing rumors, responding to criticism, or managing sensitive situations, coaches need to be prepared to navigate the complexities of social media with grace and poise. Effective social media management can help coaches mitigate reputational damage, control the narrative, and uphold the integrity of their program.

5. Recruiting Compliance (Why Coaches Need Social Media Management)

The NCAA and other governing bodies have strict rules and regulations governing recruiting activities, including those conducted via social media. Coaches must ensure compliance with these guidelines to avoid potential penalties or sanctions. Social media management tools can help coaches track communications, monitor content, and ensure adherence to recruiting rules, safeguarding the integrity of their program.

6. Education and Inspiration (Why Coaches Need Social Media Management)

Beyond the X's and O's of the game, coaches have a unique opportunity to educate and inspire through social media. Whether it's sharing motivational quotes, coaching tips, or personal anecdotes, coaches can use their platforms to uplift and empower their followers. By providing valuable content and insights, coaches can cultivate a loyal and engaged audience, driving positive impact both on and off the field.

Why Coaches Need Social Media Management.

In conclusion, the importance of social media management for coaches cannot be overstated. From connecting with fans and recruiting top talent to building their personal brand and navigating crises, social media has become an essential tool in the modern coach's toolkit. By embracing these platforms strategically and thoughtfully, coaches can enhance their effectiveness, elevate their program, and leave a lasting legacy in the digital age of sports. A rant ahead. TLDR blizz executives are bad, wow good The great cataclysm prepatch with everything broken desecrating my fond memories of my first ever WoW expansion. I just stopped playing at Kezan after getting 100 lua errors with 0 addons enabled.
Broken legendaries on start of season 4. An aspect that involves you counting and managing limited resource to decide a strategy of improving your character. All that gameplay trashed because of a single bug that was known on the ptr. A key dungeon (Uldaman 2nd boss) was bugged for 2 resets straight bricking your keys just because fuck you thats why.
And now Pandaria remix where you have:
Mediocre power wise leveling with bfa scaling which breaks everything past level 60 (everything literally works in regular retail). Heroic dungeons are broken right from the start at level 10. This also includes managing 102391284 gems in your inventory and that gem interface from tbc (which is 17 years old btw).
After getting 70 you can try to do normal raids (they are broken), try to farm heroic dungeons (they are also broken) or simply quest at a rate of 10 bronze per hour while some things cost like 40k and there are a LOT of them.
So the gameplay appeal of this mode is... what exactly? Gems have no purpose -> cause pve is broken. At least you could farm frogs more efficiently I guess. Reputation and mogs farms are literally something you could do on regular retail.
In the end I want to thank 2 devs making all these things for us although being unfinished and not working on release. Also this makes me ask myself when does a great name of World of Warcraft spends itself? A good bet would be never because that reflects how our game is truly great. On the bad side, that is just gonna be abused by blizz executives having 2 devs working on everything and then finishing it afterwards which is stupid from a consumer's perspective in my opinion.

2024.05.19 03:20 flying_goldfish_tier Should I just continue as if mom has dementia?

Mom hasn't gotten better. She came into my room today to say the heater wouldn't turn on. She had unplugged it and was just plugging it into the extension cord, unplugging it, and repeating. She never plugged it into the wall.
We had a memory test, but for some fucking reason they're not able to give results for weeks.
I'm so tired.
We just put our dog down yesterday. She kept asking me over and over if the dog had died after they pushed the shot. Now, she seems to switch between remembering the dog is dead and wondering where the dog is.
I don't know what else to do beyond assume she's not there mentally anymore. If I keep assuming she's still mentally there, I'm going to end up killing myself or killing her.
She makes zero sense half the time. She always whispers, then screams and gets angry when we mention her voice is barely a whisper. She refuses to do anything more than play the same puzzle game on her tablet and watch shitty Blue Bloods episodes. Her cognition is down the toilet, and everything is “stupid.”
The stupid computer won't work. (She forgot the password.) The stupid sink won't work. (She was pulling the stopper, not the taps.) The stupid remote won't work. (The wrong remote.) The stupid TV won't turn on. (It did. She just doesn't know how to change the channel.)
She constantly remembers vivid details about her friends' drama, but got forbid she remember anything more than surface level facts about me. I like dogs and frogs. That's about all Mom seems to remember about me. She still thinks I love things I liked when I was twelve.
TL;DR: we're probably getting a dementia diagnosis. Should I just say fuck the doctors dragging their feet and treat Mom like she has dementia until proven otherwise? I'm tired of trying to reason with her.

2024.05.19 02:05 Loveth3soul-767 Why's bullying a problem? An awful state education military styled system that designed treat children like livestock cattle locked in a room every 30 mins per hour and 7 hours day, that's one of the biggest factors..

1: Let the youth respectfully quietly walk out and drink water and go to the bathroom without permission and walk and stretch to get something without getting in trouble, that's exactly what the military is, and getting detention for being 15 minutes late? Detention? Detained? Home Detention sounds very Fascistic police state like, a lot of schools don't allow that.
2: Memorizing words and filling in worksheets with pencils don't help that much and NCEA examines do not get one a job at, skills do like wood work or cooking or IT or sowing, expectation of only university/polytech, at least cooking or woodwork with others are legit skills unlike sitting on a table wasting 40 minutes of your life memorizing how and why the frog crossed the road with a pencil trying to spell ''ELECTR_CA_N TO H_NT FRO_'' "TO G_T TO FR_ANC_''
3: Keeping them silent in the class all the time will destroy their talking and communication skills especially for job interviews!!!
4: Many state schools are treating people who are on the verge of being adults like like micromanaged infants in a prison/military or live stock... the result? Stress, anxiety, anger, depression and conflict and taking out stress on other pupils and those pupils have no respect for anybody and devolving into sociopaths or psychopaths and even by now maybe having record numbers of work place violence due to bullying. By now 10% of NZ Adults by now who are truly scared of the world and live in front of screens 24/7 playing video games or social media or on drugs or alcohol living on the benefits not saying who people who don't work are bad at all ok? Because they never were respected as being a Human / a growing little man / little women in their school AKA ''NEET's'' I'm sorry this happened to you people, read books and go outside and watch the Swans in the park! NEET's! Don't give up! Life is beautiful! Godbless!
5: Back in the olden days most of the all youths when they turned 14 - 15 off to the factories or military you went and it was tough but you got earned cash and you worked and talked to adults a lot! Same thing in 3rd world nations!
6: The top professions that most attracts sex predators? Teachers or principals / jobs in secondary school education, police officers and priests with church clergy and 3rd world country aid workers not saying homeschool is the the solution but remember, sex predators are very, very smart and likable people, always have a theme of being a central figure or leadership in those types of circles not always but yeah...
7: I read Epstein FBI files last of all and Epsteins sex trafficking network was very, very well networked to many of the US School systems and admin staff and school boards always well linked in the Florida US area.
8: You cannot be too smart or too slow, what's the point taking the youngsters their making them stay 7 hours a day without any backing or funding or support? Useless. If they're too smart then get them to teach the class and help other students.
9: The lack of knowledge and uselessness of school counselors that don't understand Trauma or PTSD in children since a majority of mental health issues come from trauma
10: And if you had a good school that did allow all that was right then please thank those teachers or your parents, that's all I will say, please be happy and grateful!
11: No, no matter what Hollywood says high school prison system will never the best time of a lot of people lives, for most people it's at least their late teens to early 20's getting stupidly blacked out smashed on booze. swearing at bouncers, spewing all over the concrete and kicking over bins and bar fights, dancing to ugly remixed pop music you hate, chasing girls and gouging down junk food at 2pm and getting thrown in the cells or having dirty flats full of booze bottles and someone puked all over the couch sleeping on it as well at 10am and destroyed toilet of even more puke and urine with your xbox controllers being sticky and gross and where's the halo disc at?? And for me that was an expensive hobby and I regret not saving up for overseas or doing more hiking or outdoors.

2024.05.19 01:52 CulturalWestern1742 Can anyone identify what i'm trying to describe?... PLEASE HELP 😭

It was like the shape of a tamagotchi (way bigger like the size of a leap frog tablet) and had an opening part like a book, like a girl tech journal or smthing and IT WAS EXACTLY LIKE A PIXEL CHIX GAME, the graphics and everything - it came with a tiny white charger too. Let me say too that it was also purple. PLEASE if you know a toy similar to this, even if you're not sure please comment i would LOVE to hear your ideas! 💕 The game was mainly based on a pixelated girl with a cute lil dog and there were minigames if i'm not wrong?... like I literally remember walking the dog and everything - I LOVED IT. (PS. it might be a knock off brand or smthing maybe, maybe not)

2024.05.19 00:00 Anonymous8654321 What are your thoughts on all starter Pokémon?

I think the Kanto starters are overexposed, especially Charizard, but not bad. They battle well and have great designs to boot. The Johto starters are more or less plain than their predecessors, but are still great. Battle-wise, Meganium truly is bad. Defensive battling seems to be the only viable option for it. Typhlosion is a surprisingly decent threat when combined with Choice Scarf and Eruption. Feraligatr kicks butt. Dragon Dance, Aqua Jet, and Ice Fang are a deadly combo.
The Hoenn starters are pretty cool. I like that the Treeko line is a leaf-tailed gecko that develops leaf blades and a club moss tail for attacking. Torchic is cute, and I like how it evolves into a fire and fighting type for both stages. I just wish Blaziken looked less like a guy in a suit. Mudkip‘s evolved forms get one of the best type combinations in the game and look great. I also like how mega Sceptile can fire its tail as a missile, and how mega Swampert is so muscular and bulky.
The Sinnoh starters are, in general, good. I like Torterra the most. The whole line is a turtle that develops what appear to be dinosaur features. The grass and ground typing is bad, but I think Torterra is still a fun and cool design. The Chimchar line is cool, even if a bit predictable. A monkey with a flaming butt, and a monkey with a hot head. Fitting for a monkey, but predictable. Infernape is still a great powerhouse in battle, though. I find Piplup and Prinplup to be the best looking out of the whole line. Empoleon has an awesome water and steel typing, as well as some good bulk, but the final design twist is too cluttered, especially with the dark blue pieces on the front and the tail.
The Unova starters are interesting. I like how Snivy starts off as a snake with arms and legs, but loses the legs entirely and keeps the nubby arms in the final stage. Gaining Contrary was a smart move and has made Serperior a desired choice in competitive play. Tepig is great the way it looks, but Pignite and Emboar could have looked better. Take away the yellow pieces, shape them into looking more like swine, and I think we would have much better pigs. The whole Oshawott line is great. I especially like Dewott. It and Wartortle are up there as my top two favorite water types.
The Kalos starters are up there as some of my favorites. The Chespin line has a great theme in being chestnuts, which become beige. I like the the spines being used for offense and defense. The only thing I wish would change is Quilladin. I don’t like the face. It looks ugly. It would be cool if it looked more like Chespin. I like Fenniken, but the evolutions are little bit girly. Yet, I can still see them being male or female, and they are still cool for being foxes. The Froakie line is definitely amazing, start to finish. I love the concept of a ninja frog with the power to throw frothy bubbles at its foes. Too bad Greninja dropped that.
The Alola starters are fun, but I like what Rowlet did more. I like the type combination and the archer theme. Litten and Torracat are great. Incineroar is not bad, but I think it would be better if it looked a little more like a tiger. It doesn’t have to be on all fours either. Just do what was done with Typhlosion. Give it a hunch and let it move on four legs if it wants. Popplio is not bad, but it’s evolutions stray more into being very feminine. Primarina is not bad, but she looks more like she could be a mythical Pokémon.
The Galar starters get pretty messy. Battle-wise, Rillaboom and Cinderace are great. Design-wise, the Grookey line is very plain, but I like Rillaboom’s plainness more. Scorbunny is cool. Raboot is ok, except for the weird clothing it has on it. Cinderace is a mess. A rabbit that kicks fire balls as if they were soccer balls is a cool concept, but it really should have been done better. Sobble is cute, but the evolutions are all over the place. Inteleon is just so skinny. I don’t like it looking like it wears gloves and a scuba suit. I get the concept for the whole line, but they should have done something else if they wanted a spy lizard.
The Paldea starters are my least favorites. The Fuecoco line is the only one that interests me at all. Sprigatito is just a green cat. Floragato is slightly more interesting because of the bladed yo-yo, but not enough to be called a top favorite. I really don’t like the final stage. It should have stuck with the yo-yo and used it as a weapon for fighting. The Quaxly line, in my opinion, is the worst starter line I have seen, especially the last stage. I like the water and fighting type combination, but the final twist could have been a peacock pirate that flashes its tail feathers in a graceful form of fighting, even using its own feathers as swords while it moves around gracefully.

Here’s my take on DFV’s emojis message:
TheRoaringKitty was shocked 😳 by the state of GameStop 💩, feeling disheartened 😿. But he saw a hidden gem 🥜, a frog 🐸 waiting to transform. He believed the stock could soar like an ice cream 🍦 on a hot day, despite the market’s nausea 🤢.
His thesis was met with a mix of thumbs up 👍 and fists 👊, as skeptics warned it was a dead investment 💀. With a cunning disguise 🥸, he kept a close eye 👀 on the stock, hoping for a stellar outcome 🤩. His predictions hit like lightning ⚡️, and the stock rose as rapidly as a rocket 🚀.
Amidst the chaos 🍄, the stock’s value exploded 💥, transforming the financial world 🍏. RoaringKitty was both perplexed 🤨 and dizzy with excitement 😵‍💫. His heart was filled with love 💜 for the supportive community 🫂, and he gave a perfect sign 👌.
The saga cemented bonds 🤝, akin to camping out together ⛺️. Though cats 😼 might be aloof, RoaringKitty’s aim was true 🎯. He kept watch 👀, enjoying the loyal support of his followers 🐶 and the attention of the American 🇺🇸 public.
His voice 🎤 resonated, catching everyone’s eye 👀, and igniting a fire 🔥 in the market. The final explosion 💥 will be celebrated with cheers and beers 🍻.

2024.05.18 23:52 CycleExact5316 To the creator out there..

Hey guys ! I'm very new here. I've got ideas for futur mods for my non modders friends on PC, draft horses different kind of dogs like those cattle dogs or border collies, cats on the farm, we already have frogs so maybe little mice running everywhere, easier ways to add other farmer animals cause the one way we already have seem to completely erase the original ones, other ways to create bigger pastures that are not for production just pure entertainment, easier ways to create sheds ourselves into the game like adding many parts we can assemble the way we want and easier ways to colors them after being placed if we aren't completely satisfied, same for vehicules. A way to be able to copy an already bought vehicule/attachetools without having to go to the dealer and try to get a similar one.. Giant editor is not for everyone... I tried it many times, believe me.. even worse with the scripts.. yes I followed pretty much all of the tutorials on YT but my brain isn't open enough for this. If there are mods somewhere that seems to look like these, please let me know. Thanks to everyone !

2024.05.18 23:50 ThatKir Pulling your weight: Yunmen answers his own questions

In Zen, the test of understanding is both the duty and the demonstration of affiliation in the tradition. The testing can either be iin impromptu encounters with total strangers as is the case with Zhaozhou and the old women, Layman Pang and the herdboy, or Budai and the passersby.
Formal testing comes up in situations where the monastic community is assembled specifically to engage with the Zen Master at a designated time and designated place. Zen texts of instruction such as Wumen's Gateless Checkpoint or Wansong's Book of Serenity are also arguably formal tests given that most of the "big name" texts were written by Zen Masters subsequent to their communities urging them to do so.
In both impromptu and formal interviews the Zen Master is free to play both guest and host--the one initially receiving the questions or the one putting them forth. The obligation in receiving a question is to answer it in the Zen tradition; Yunmen's record contains famous examples of how Zen Masters end up holding up both sides of a conversation when those they meet with can't carry their weight:
One day Master Yunmen said, “What is it that you deliberate about and concentrate upon?”
In place of the monks, Master Yunmen answered, “Salt is expensive, rice is cheap.”
__
Once Master Yunmen said, “What is accomplished when one has mentioned the two words ‘Buddha’ and ‘Dharma’?”
He answered in place of the audience, “Dead frogs!”
__
Once Master Yunmen said, “What is a statement that does not fool people?”
In place of his listeners he said, “Don’t tell me that this was one that did!”
There are many more examples. For people without television or video games or sunny weather--this stuff can be super entertaining.
...but the intent wasn't just to give us all a few laughs.
He asked real questions regarding a concern that Zen Masters talk about as a matter of "life and death" and the people (Preceptors) that signed up for the community by shaving their heads and making all sorts of promises failed to answer.
. . .
This Zen tradition stands in sharp contrast to the sequestered, ritualized, and highly scripted religious ceremonies that meditation cults like Dogenism and Hakuuinism conduct in private and fraudulently claim constitutes continuity with the open-air public Q&A of Zen. Add on to this the fact that these cults encourage illiteracy as a matter of religious devotion, have a long history of censoring Zen texts, promoting and enforcing ethno-nationalist and racist policies of the Japanese Empire, and have yet to acknowledge publicly recent decades of scholarship that proven that the entirety of claims that their founder Dogen has made about Zen are false in the same way that Joseph Smith's claims about pre-Columbian American civilization are:
Deliberate misrepresentation by a cultleader.
This the scholarly consensus that no one has disputed.
Only by setting aside cultivated illiteracy, faith in cults to provide "the answers", and intoxicating escapism can anyone actually have a conversation about the meaning of Yunmen's answers, the significance of his questions, and the sober self-assessment that Zen study demands.
