2024.05.07 15:08 JimHalpertsSmirk Not doing well

Cliffs:
I have no reason to want to be back with her. In the past 12 months she has emotionally tortured me with silence, spied on me, my PC, and my documents. She staged photos with my firearms in a way that she would attempt (and fail) to make it seem as though I stored them unsafely. She filed Sep 5; the next day she initiated a verbal confrontation in front of our 9 year old which resulted in her making a false complaint of some sort of abuse to 911, putting three police officers at our door in what was a nearly successful attempt at the silver bullet strategy. My 9 year old saw it all. Fortunately, my 10 year old only saw the last part of it wherein an ambulance was here to take her to the hospital as she was having a panic attack.
A month later she's on the typical dating apps, tinder, etc. By December, using miles I had gifted her because she was somehow dysregulating our 10 year old at bedtime for several nights in a row (bedtime routine with our oldest was basically her only parental responsibility), she hooked up with at least a couple randoms met on dating apps.
Upon her return, she had apparently adopted a new identity as a BDSM domme and sex worker. She was on BDSM apps, she at least briefly seriously considered a career in phone sex, and she had devolved into spending her time and days diving deep into BDSM.
In February she filed a motion for support which included demonstrably false claims and accusations among them that I emotionally abused her, that I emotionally abused the boys, that I was a horrendous human being, and that she wanted 50-50 custody; something she knew even then that was never possible - she hadn't been alone with the children for a full day...ever. From birth through present, either I or my father relieved her regularly.
A month ago, I found her feeld profile which indicated she had multiple one night stands and friends with benefits, and that she now identified as a BDSM "Domme" and was interested in "subs" and all this lingo that I do not know, and don't care to know beyond knowing that BDSM community is associated with higher rates of criminal violence and sexual assault. Not once had we ever even discussed "BDSM" let alone engaged in it.
Having no income, dwindling savings, and at this point sustaining her in hotels, I offered a global settlement. She'd walk with a bag of cash, the car, and no debt. As I was already a single father for years, functionally, I'd get the kids, the house, and 7 figures of debt. I even get tie breaker authority; functional sole legal custody. She'd get frequent limited-duration visitation, and no overnights for 2 years, and it has to be attached to meeting requirement for weekly therapy (which I'd subsidize half of) for two years.
She accepted, with only minor issues remaining.
I have no logical reason to want to continue a relationship with her. She has betrayed me, abused me, used me, deceived me, manipulated me, lied about me, her BDSM profiles now proclaim she is seeking a long-term relationship...I have zero reason to want to be with her. Having children broke her. Her decline started after our second was born. She's adopted at least half a dozen different identities from briefly considering being a lesbian, to being a witch who practiced "spells" in our bathroom and made me carry on bags of herbs and shit, to a BDSM "Domme". I have zero reason to want to continue this. She wants to be free from a marriage, free from a husband, free from being a parent
Yet for whatever reason, if she walked in the door right now, sincerely apologized for all of it, committed to in or outpatient intensive therapy....I'd probably take her back
I spent most of the last several months beyond angry. At points, I hoped she'd end herself. THAT was far more useful than whatever this is.

2024.05.07 14:59 Shandriel Trunk space misconceptions!

Trunk space misconceptions!
Let's talk about trunk space and clear some misconceptions, shall we?
Official numbers: PHEV 345 L 4drive 420 L FWD 450 L
the PHEV does have much less trunk space because of the battery I'm assuming it doesn't have the "variable floor" in the trunk that lets you install it in the lower position to gain more space? (see second image) can someone confirm this on their PHEV Formentor?
Many people claim that the 4drive doesn't have a variable luggage compartment. Either there was a revision where this changed, or this information is bollocks. source: I have a 310bhp 4drive VZ and we definitely have a variable floor.
If you get the beats system, you have to take the spare wheel, too, and that goes into the lower compartment, taking the shitty subwoofer and being surrounded by styrofoam spacers that carry the tools and have some extra space to store bags of drugs, I guess.. But you can take all these things out in 5 minutes, just unplug the subwoofer and unscrew the spare wheel and remove them. And you gain a huge amount of trunk space.
There's a hell of a lot more space down there than just 30 Litres, though... Is it possible that the 4drive has the same trunk volume as the non-hybrid FWD? or is the variable trunk floor in the FWD even lower than in the 4drive?
my reason to believe this is rooted in image 3 (fig. 114 in the handbook) where they show the top cover being stored inside the variable trunk bottom.. in my 4drive, I can only do that if I remove the spare wheel and make room to use the variable floor.
Can someone with a non-hybrid FWD AND the beats system check if you can store the top cover under the floorboard in the trunk?
if not, I've got to assume that the trunk space in the 4drive and FWD non-hybrid is essentially the same.
Does anyone know where those 30L (450 vs 420) came from? Because I think that's about 70-100 litres of extra storage volume you gain by using the lower setting for the floor.
P.S.: beware of the 100kg max load warning! I'm not 100% sure if that's true for the spare wheel setup with the styrofoam supports or only if you have the floorboard "floating" there in the upper position with nothing underneath.

2024.05.07 14:48 TheAverageHomosexual What did you do between undergrad and grad school

I am a third year undergrad student majoring in history and anthropology. I will be graduating in about a year and realized that I am going to have to start thinking seriously about what to do between undergrad and graduate school.
I have already had many jobs, I have worked on a farm, on a ranch, in multiple bars and restaurants, in catering, at 7/11, in a pet store. I currently work at a museum, in a research lab, in a after school program and at a carousel. I also just won a prestigious fellowship whereby I will be paid to carry out my own historical research project and present my findings at a small symposium in my senior year.
I have an apartment so I must work. I would like to work in construction, the parks department, the public transit system, or something sort of hands on, tactile and physical where I am also a cog in the machine that keeps the city running. I have worked on farms before and would do this, though I live in a major city and am not sure if those jobs are immediately available to me. I plan on working for a year in my city so I can spend time with my friends, then traveling and interning on farms for 2 years.
I plan to take 2-4 years off between undergrad and grad school and not sure what to do with this time. Thus, I am asking, what did you do between undergrad and grad school? Did anyone do anything similar? Are my ideas crazy?

2024.05.07 14:35 ChaosAcanthaceae Frick the Millworks department.

About a week or two ago, I moved over to part time fulfillment and stepped down from my position as a Millworks specialist. You really get the short end of the stick over there, huh? I work at a smaller store, too, so for a majority of the time it was just me, another Millworks specialist that didn't do jack shit, and a supervisor that was really chill but is always over near appliances because they obviously get more business. In fact, I spent a good month or two BY MYSELF because they took the specialist I was going to get into FREIGHT temporarily. I just remember wanting that position so bad, but after six months it just became too much. The pressure to get installs that aren't even worth getting because the turnout rate is absolute ass, and taking care of the department while also going around asking for sales and credit apps makes everything an absolute chore.
It wasn't all bad, though. The higher ups were actually really respectful and tried to do what they could, and at the very least, they admired that I had the willpower to try-- and trust me, I did try where I could. But at the end of the day, the district people can only see numbers, and the numbers are ASS. This combined with a lot of unrelated mental health reasons left me stepping down.
I have a couple bright sides, though: 1. My tenureship (11 months lol) combined with a raise that carried over gave me a slightly higher pay rate than the other people that work in the department. 🤘 2. It's actually surprisingly chill? Again, it's a smaller store, so not as much activity as something in a larger city, so I've been able to take time to sneak on my phone and doodle while waiting for orders to come in. 3. This is a little petty, but with the new Millworks specialists being trained (other guy ended up stepping down, too), the department doesn't look as clean as before, while I spent a majority of my time keeping things tidy. Just shows how much I did! 😎
TL;DR: Millworks sucks, so I moved to fulfillment.

2024.05.07 13:56 BigButtOffCool A kid was crying over a Lego set he wasn’t allowed to buy, so I bought it in front of him... for myself.

There was this kid. This damn kid...
I knew what I wanted to get, but I noticed there was only one on the shelf. Now I’m a nice person, I don’t stand too close to strangers, I give him his space. So I decided, alright I’ll just walk in and get it after the kid moves away.
That kid literally didn’t move away. His hands all over MY box (the one I wanted). He started crying all over the place. Smearing his hands all wet with tears on the box. He held it in his hand and ran all over the store with it. His face was bright red, damn, he WANTED that thing. After his big brother (Idk) said no for the millionth time, he put it back on the shelf.
It was time. My plan: run in quickly, grab it, pay for it, and walk out. So I ran in and grabbed it but this isn’t one of those small mall locations. This store was huge. The checkout counter was at the very back, so I had to walk for like a minute to get to the front.
While I was waiting in a queue to pay, the kid comes back to the same location, dragging his mom. It’s probably the first time the mom even walked there with him.
The kid was so confused. The box which was there minutes ago, was suddenly gone. His mom thought that there was nothing there in the first place, she picked him up, and carried him out the store. The kid, still bawling his eyes out.
As the mom had him over her shoulder, the kid glanced at me as he was being carried out. He saw the set he wanted in my hand. He starts screaming and pointing and trying to get his mom’s attention. The kid barely makes out the words telling his mom that I took what he wanted. She understood that I took what her son wanted but she didn't say anything as she knew I was the one owning this set.

2024.05.07 13:37 DiligentRanger8540 Thoughts on League from a 6000 hours player

1: League mechanic is just a crafting method which doesn't add new exciting league mods. Results are good, some items has many fractured mods which is insane. But collecting it is painful. In SSF it is very hard to get 500% more speed modifier. After crafted some gear league has no meaning. I got bored real quick. Finished up 3 new builds. COCDD,Bouncing Peacock,New Elemental hit. Farmed and spent 7+mirrors. After one month into tge league Im too bored so I uninstalled already. League mechanic cannot keep me engage. If you want us craft then you gotta have new stuff new mods like cruicble league.
2: New Atlas farming is garbage for now. It is no fun to back to basic. Make map so hard with percentage increased map modifiers just to farm some ... Scarabs? Excuse me? I have picked 2-3 different league mechanics but I can only put 4 scarabs of same stuff to get the max of it? Its not fun. And some of the scarabs are too rare. I haven't seen some of them. And there's no point of making 5th map device slot to be defeating t17. Some of the mapper builds are not made for that. Let people get their slots! Not everyone is made for t17 after a week into the league
3: T17 map is stupid. I feel 0 pressure when I farm uber bosses. But I died in t17 maps many times. I have 150k effective life pool. I have 90 chaos max res and 10 more layers of defense mechanism. I even have 100 div progenesis. I am impossible to die in any other content. I am so tanky. And I am dot capped. But T17 mods just disable my tanky espct. It is so disrespectful for my time to making it tanky. I don't like to go be like a glass like fubgun dying thousands of times just to farm t17. Fight t17 bosses are easy af. But map is hard before get to to boss. Especially with back to basics. In the past people just one click on atlas to make boss uber. Now invitations for normal eater still took 28 maps to run. But because it cannot be uber with one click the value dropped a lot. It should take 14 maps to get an invitation now.
4:GGG made too many adjustments. People find out they can burn their maps to fish divine then they make divine rare af. But people who were richer when they can buy and burn maps already made million divs. It's already broken. Then they adjusted it and poor people got more poor. Rogue exile, meat sack, they all got adjusted right when rich people had enough fun. Market was already broken after those. I Don't know if it's good ideal to adjust non-bug farming strategy during the league. It happened so many time that I've burned thousands of orb of unmaking and wasted time.
5: Reflect map is a problem now. Some of the hybrid build cannot fix reflect damage with Awakened gems. They should find a way to fix it. In the past we have sextant can reroll"player and summoned stuff won't take reflected damage" GGG should add a scarab that does this job or do whatever to fix it.
6: Taking too many stash tabs. I have invested like thousand dollars into the game already. I have a lot of stash tab. League mechanics should not be mandatory and at the same time make a huge gap between normal player and whales. I have more stash tabs quad tabs, So I have 100 times more corpses sorted in my stash tab waiting to be sold. I accumulated currency 100 times faster than those don't have enough stash tab. In the past I have more stash tab but the item I stored are my well crafted gears and usable unique. Now league mechanics took 4 quad stash tab along with 10 more premium stash tab storing my all flames and corpses. I feel like I'm pay to win somehow. I feel ashame. I can accept only storing my stuff in tabs. Not league related crap in stash tab because league mean to have their own tabs for everyone.
7:Using this much stash tab makes me scared. I grow up in China which is a place only had cracked games and tencent garbos. Evwrytime a fun game bought by tencent will add 100 pages of vip and pay to win stuff. They ruined every game I have ever played. Now GGG is 100% Tencent company. The first thing they did is create problem for players. We've been supporting GGG for long time. Compared to league of legends, POE cosmetics are expensive as hell. You have buy a skin for a champ in league for 10 dollar. That skin contains gloves boots armor cloak and helm. But 10 dollars can't buy you a cloak in poe. I've spent thousands. I know more whales spent more. People buying 500 dollars pack to support. Buying battle pass to support even the battle pass are garbo. But GGG started to make players problem. If you don't have enough stash tab you can't enjoy the league. But there is a solution, buy buy buy. That's the first step of tencent, way of water. Everything starts small then hit hard later. When you wake up you are already sunken in the ocean. Can't leave the water.
8: Bugs. Many bugs. I know games will have bugs sometimes. But why don't just delete all bugged item from league and also standard. Standard has tons of bugged items. League 6 link bug is the first bug that made me shocked. I didn't use it because I already uninstalled poe after one months into the league. But I've been watching videos. To be honest, this 6 link bug is more fun than league itself. If GGG didn't fix it we will have a league that every build can be fun again.
9: Game is already very hard. For me it's easy as hell but my new friends feel it's very hard especially when first got to red maps. The traditional way of building tanky espct is not enough. Building armor and evasion is not enough already. So people are using taken xxx damage as chaos/elemental damage to be tanky. Eater and exart mods and helm are all same. Every build is using those 2 unique body armor. Every build is using divine flesh jewel or Maxhuxotle shield. Every build is using adorned to get damage. That's the end game GGG wants? Every class and skill uses same unique items to get tanky and damage? To be honest it's boring. Game is getter harder each league and players are forced to get to this level which has to use these defense mechanism over the traditional way. The amulet and also progenesis too. Felt like a poe bis item for everyone. Mageblood if you wanna survive in t17. Sadly other arpgs are now too small and too garbo. So GGG can do whatever to force player to play in their way. Most game turned into dead game once developers started to teach player how to play it in their vision. 10: Trading is still painful. Tencent bought GGG entirely. But in tencent version, players have in game trading post. You post your item for 40 chaos in tab, then when someone wanna buy it they just put 40 in trade tab and they can get it without disturbing your farming and needing you to finish the trade. That's huge. If you craft bunch of gear. Just post it and forget about it. It will be sold whether you are online or offline. As long as their currency is exactly what you have required in tab. You don't need to be sitting in front of pc all day all night to sell your stuff. People got family to feed. Got work to do. Why the hell we need to see streamers play all day sell all day. But we have to use our limited time to do trading instead of enjoying farming? Softcore trade league needs it. Don't be afraid of players maxed out build too fast. As long as league mechanics are good player will play for long time and buy more cosmetics and stash tabs. Tencent version already gave you inspiration in this specific thing only. You don't need to add other crap. Just make trading good. I don't care how much better your website is than others. As long as I still have to sit infront of monitor for trading 5 divs into chaos ,dm 400 different people and not getting invited, I will be saying all day. Even me, when I was doing delirium or similacrum or Ultimatum, or uber bosses I will ignore player messages. Do I want to ignore people? No I want to sell that item they've been messaging me. But I just can't. I can't risk a portal for uber bosses sometimes. I can't risk my chances to loot 6 times for juiced map. I want to trade whether my online or not. Busy or not. Just like tencent version. Even tencent is trash in every other possible way,yet they get this shit right. 11:Melee is still garbage. Damn I don't want to use any totems. I've never seen any warriors said "Hey allow me to summon my totems and cry 7 times before we fight pls, thank you ,ahhh ahh ahhh ahhh huuuu haaa ahhh" Clearing is bad. Hard to get defense and damage balanced in a good way. Physical weapon are pure gamba. There are no better way to craft physical weapons other than gamble on physical rerolls from essence and harvest. Melee builds have to invest 10 times more currency to get 50% OF META build damage and survivability. We have 1 pages of red skill gems. Make it usable God damn it. 12: Streamers are getting too lucky. I don't understand how a SSFHC player running 10 mod t16 maps dropping more t0 than me doing t16 with 8 mods in delirium with my MF character. And how in a nut shell I don't get usable uber boss dropps even i do ubers like 30 times a day. Need to see streamers suffer like everyone else. People say streamer client not exist. Of course. But streamers "luck" exist. They do react do videos. Spent more hours in white maps and acts. They sill got more valuable loot. Fix it
13: GGG is kinda hard to reach now. They used to listen to feedbacks more. Now it's been almost 2 months into the league you still have small ass allflames tabs. T17 maps are still weird and still needs chaos to reroll to farm chaos lmao. Everytime they have interview is more likely to be POE2. For current league they are avoiding all questions. Every time they have interview recently, are the streamers saying GGG did well on making this change when GGG actual fked up and players left league. They were asking every irrelevant question. It almost felt like they are helping ggg to avoid those questions people really care. They consider themselves 1%. But some streamers are just bad. When I finished up my expensive build every league with mageblood and muti mirror gears they were still farming for AA shield. Yet they are representing players to ask questions from GGG. They have 14 hours to play every single day. But my friend, you are not a streamer, You only play couple hours a day or a week. They won't ask any question that comes from your perspective. They will spend 40 mins to act like they are asking something to make them look knowledgeable for fking views. Hope next league will be good enough for me to play 2 months. Hope POE community stays on top of all others. Hope we have fun playing a video game like what we meant to instead of getting heart attack because of monster detonate dead on death

2024.05.07 13:21 fredtheuser Day Twenty Two

The Path of Least Resistance
Up until very recently, historically speaking, life for nearly everyone was difficult and full of hard, monotonous, physically taxing work. My dad was a brick layer, and my cap’s off to him. I spent many a Saturday tending for him, that is, carrying brick to where he needed it and mixing and hauling mortar. Go back a little further and 90% of the population were farmers. Without electricity and running water. Work was non-stop.
But we humans are a resourceful bunch, and always dreaming up ways to build a better mousetrap or accomplish tasks as quickly and efficiently as possible. Our bodies are hard wired to conserve as much energy as possible. So, don’t think of Fred as fat, think of him as conserving, storing up energy. Why? Because famine is always just around the corner.
But today, it seems we have too little resistance. If NASA picked you to go into space, you’d soon find out that while in space, you must exercise else when you return to earth, your muscles and bones will atrophy.
When I was a kid, there wasn’t one gym in my home town of 250,000. Today, in my home town of 190,000 I can think of at least 8 gyms. And people today are much fatter. You’d think it was the opposite, but no.
When life is tough, when firewood must be gathered and chopped and split and stacked and stored, there’s not a whole lot of time to play candy crush or sudoku. When water must be fetched and chickens fed and cows milked, then that social media scrolling falls to the wayside. If you go to bed exhausted because you’ve worked all day and staying up means you have to burn a candle — and candles are a luxury item — you go to bed and fall asleep quickly.
Now, abundance can be a good thing. And we live an abundant life here in the West. But abundance and ease makes soft people. And hard times are coming. Not being a doomsday Dave, hard times always come. And taking the path of least resistance has made us soft and vulnerable.
Give up porn and masturbation? Me? What will I do with all this free time? Maybe read a book? Learn an instrument? Do something with your hands? Get a job? Better yourself?
God is calling you to a higher purpose. And that path ain’t easy. You will meet lots of resistance along the way. If you don’t, you’re not doing it right. Your flesh (and mine) demands that we take the easy way, the downhill path, avoid the obstacles. But that’s the path that leads to destruction.
Difficult? Of course. Anything worth doing is, by definition, difficult.
That said… what will you do today to change the path you’re on? What will you resist?

2024.05.07 12:56 UserNameIsTakenFudge Really, you gotta be kidding me.

Really, you gotta be kidding me.
Took this order because even though it’s a lot of items it was 95% produce and all in the same area of the store literally. Good amount offered for the bathch with the tip oh and it was a double. The other customer only had 3 items,4 units (small items) $25.00 tip. All through the order this customer, customer B does not respond at all to anything. Drop off smaller item first then get here also less than 0.3 miles from first drop. There are about 8 kids outside and the customer standing on the top of the stairs looking down. 4-5 grown men inside. I pull in to her driveway which was a first for me. I never utilize customers driveway why, IDK. Anyway, she tells all her children to come inside. My gut told me here we go. I’m unloading her 50 items. I know there are men in the home because the front door is wide open. She had 2 cases of water and a case of seltzer along with all her produce. They watch me carry the cases up the stairs and one man looks at me and says “Take it back down and out it in front of the garage door, that’s where they go” and sho’s his half like he’s bating off a fly. I laugh in my head, Popeye a punk if I carry these cases of back down anywhere. Now I do see int eh delivery notes it says this however her home is under construction hence why her front door was wide open and the construction vehicles were blocking the garage. I would have had to been in gymnastics to get them there. I look at him, don’t say a word and also don’t pick the cases of water up. Next the kids decide to start kicking a ball in my direction. After the 3rd dodge of the ball I call the customer 4 times to get her children. She looks at me and keeps walking. The ball now is kicked and hits me directly in the head. I call IC support because now it’s a safety concern. Of course I can’t get customer support. Every time I clicked safety concern and connect, I would get a chat ended message with the rating screen. I will show in the comments because it says post can only show one image. I tried 7 times to contact support. I got hit with this ball a total of 4 times. I was livid. I completed the delivery because I didn’t want to walk away mid deliver and this customer call IC complain and they give her, her full 397.00 refund then reshop it and have another shopper have to deal with this. Do yall know at the end of the unload I’m giving her the thumbs down as I complete the order and detailing why I was her blocked from my account and she walks up to my vehicle and says. When you dropped the fruit you damaged it, she threw it in my front window and told me to take it back and she will check for the refund on her account and walks away. At this point I was trying to remember if the First 48 filmed in New York and who my first phone call would be too. I was so mad. I was even madder for completing the delivery. Oh and of course out of the $25.00 tip customer a $23.50 customer B $1.50 guess who was customer B? I feel like when she took them in the house it was to pep talk them up to aim and not miss.

2024.05.07 12:47 Byakimo Storage Systems and NBT. What is NBT

I know the very basics only. Enchants and basically everything with durability. But what else ? What I assume -Stuff with different Energy Levels Does that mean even an empty Energy Cube carries NBT Data and shouldnt be stored in my System? -Basically Everything Silent Gear Im a huge Silent Gear Fan but idk if I can store all the different parts in my System. Does a Max Grade Tyrian Steel differ from a B Grade ? Will they take up 2 Types in my AE2 System?. -Spell Scrolls and maybe even Empty Spellbooks from the Iron Spell mod ? - Apotheosis Gems ??
In the end i really dont know. The more i try to learn the more I see that RS or AE2 might just be a bulk storage?
Also is there maybe an option that pulls every item with NBT Data out of the system ? Or is that maybe not possible because idk every item has SOME NBT Value, its just a problem if there are too many different ones.

2024.05.07 12:24 Mimikhue Had my first high seas session, what an adventure!

New PS5 player here, and boy do I have a story to tell. Entering high seas for the very first time tonight, my goal was to make enough money to captain my first sloop, something that would help my friend when he also gets the game this week.
I started simple, an order voyage to get a skull cuz their cosmetics look cool and I want to rank up with them. When I got back to my ship, I saw a ghostly knife and paper in the mast and got a quest from it. Lady told me to go and get a rare skull of some kind, and the prompts told me that I got a map for both the key and chest. Cool, this is new. I start sailing to the first place, a place called Shipwreck Bay, due north. Midway there, the water darkens, and tentacles rose from the depths to drag my ship to the bottom of the ocean. After a lot of repairing, panicking, shooting cannons, and generally flailing around like an idiot, they went back under for good and I got an achievement. I was so utterly terrified that most of what happened is just a blur. Afterwards, sailed to the island and took forever finding the key, but eventually got it and got back to the ship. From there, the game wanted me to go straight through the storm to a place called rapier cay. A tough sail, storms really mess with me. Got there, some weird... coral looking thing spat bubbles at me but I harpooned it until it dissapeared. Got the chest, got the skull, and looked around to see the beacon mentioned. What a sight, that swirling blue and purple. As I approached the island the beacon was on, the sky got darker, the music tensed, and I made a mad dash inland looking for the lady to give the skull to. Gave it, got a hefty payout, and she noped outta existence.
That wasn't the end for my tale, however, as I set my sights on a nearby fortress looking to make enough money to reach 100k at least. Passed Port Merrick, fast on my way to the fort, when a skeleton ship surfaced from the water. What a fight that was! My first ever taste of ship vs ship combat was tense, as I kept running up and down panicking the whole way, forgetting resources, and all around losing my mind. What didn't help was watching in horror as a massive purple shark started circling me mid fight. After an arduous battle, their ship sank, and the shark ran for some reason after I never once hit it. Not like I complained, I stuck around and happened to get a treasure chest to store stuff in the upcoming fort from the wreckage of the skeleton ship. Came up on the fortress, and I've done these a bunch at this point in the safer seas, so it wasn't that big of a deal. Got all the loot, even the top room chests and sapphire, then sailed straight for Port Merrick.
As I pulled into Merrick it was storming, and I docked right beside the merchant association lady. I spotted a message when I fixed my harpoon into the side, "15 minutes until server closing", and I started scrambling to get my loot offloaded before it closed. Sold my items to Merchant association quickly, and without issues. Got a chest full of skulls, and the sapphire, took the first batch to the Order no issues. It was on the second and final skull run that tragedy struck... quite literally. I had no more touched the stone tiles when Zeus decided that my ship was perfect for target practice. The harpoon came undone, and I immediately dropped my chest to go and fix my ship. She sank too quickly for me to do anything, and my loot bubbled up to the surface of the water with 10 minutes remaining. Only thing is, that's about 5 chests I have to carry all the way across Port Merrick to the gold hoarders. I rush my skulls to the order, and sell the treasure chest while I'm at it, then book it back to the water for my gold hoarders loot. It was agonizing, taking each chest to port. I managed to chuck the last captain's chest into his lap with 3 minutes remaining, and logged off with a hefty sigh and a desire to get back on tomorrow to do it again.
Sorry for the length, I just REALLY enjoyed my first ever run out here with the rest of the world and wanted to share my experience. Thanks to anybody that actually reads this.

2024.05.07 12:19 AchillesBoketo Storage (tankbag?) for locks and chains

Hi all,
New rider here. I want to commute with my motorcycle, which probably means I'll need to be able to carry around a decent bike chain so I can secure it while at work. I don't want to have it in my backpack as I'll likely be storing work clothes in there.
I really want to avoid a top box, because I just hate the look of the thing. Would a tank bag do the job? If so any particular things I need to consider while looking into one?
Or is there any other solution that I might not have thought of?
I'm on an SV650 if that makes a difference.
Thanks!

2024.05.07 12:14 Icy-Librarian-3797 Hyatt Ziva Cancun Review

Brace yourself for a detailed review! I am sorry for the delayed review in this subreddit. Our trip was two months ago.
Hyatt Ziva Cancun has easily become our favorite destination.
Some background: we split our stay for a 2 week vacation. Our first week was with our grandchildren at Hyatt Ziva Cancun. Our second week was at Hyatt Zilara Cancun. I will post separate review for Zilara.
We arrived in Cancun on a Tuesday morning. Airport immigration was a breeze. No wait for us because we used the electronic fast-lane. If you have kids, you can’t use that service. Our son and his family (kids too) were flying from different location and didn’t arrive until day 2. So because it was just my wife and I, we were able to use the immigration fast lane. We didn’t check bags. We use laundry service at the resorts so were able to easily pack enough for one week and wash and rewear our same outfits for a second week at the Zilara. We each had a carry on and a personal item (backpack) which was enough for us.
For this trip, we used Friends Travel Cancun for private transport. Our flights were early and they must have monitored cuz they were there when we got to the pickup area. They were waiting for us outside the airport with a ‘welcome home’ sign and our name. Made us feel special.
We arrived at the resort around 10:30. We were greeted by bellboys who stored our luggage (our room wasn’t ready but we could use the resorts and eat at the restaurants. My wife had a small beach bag packed with extra set of dry clothes, our swim trunks, and sun block, so we grabbed that and proceeded to check in. We were escorted up the steps by a nice gentleman who welcomed us with some discounts. During the casual conversation, it became apparent that he was part of the timeshare presence at the resort. We declined and told him we already booked through a member and had no interest in buying into their club (more on that later). He said it would just be 30 minutes presentation, and we repeated that we were not interested. He was kind and escorted us to the check-in desk in club tower.
We checked into our room around 3:10 after using the resort for the day. Club ocean front king. Wonderful room and great view. See pictures. The club lounge was a highlight, with 24/7 and a well-stocked fridge. The small bar in club tower was tucked in the corner and not busy during day. We enjoyed our evenings with the bartender and laughed a lot. The lounge bar remained open until 11 PM.
Dining: there are several options for breakfast (room service, coffee shop, club snack bar, Tradewinds and the buffet). We went to all. Once our son arrived with his family the next day, the buffet became more popular since it had EVERY type of breakfast food available plus freshest fruit. Waiters were very attentive with refills and keeping the kids happy with helping with their plates and friendly interactions. There are freshly made churos outside the wonderful coffee shops.
For lunch, Chevy’s was popular. Habeneros was a great ocean front setting, but we weren’t as impressed with menu options. Food was very good, but I guess I’m simple and don’t venture too far from routine. The highlight was the grill by the pools, serving corn on the cob, grilled chicken, hamburgers, nachos, bbq ribs, and other grillers (all on different days).
For dinner, there are many options and we tried them all. One of the meals at Lorenzos wasn’t my favorite, but the remaining dinner options were great. The food was way above average. Every plate was presented with perfection. Definitely check out each restaurant when you’re. No reservations, but we went early enough that we didn’t have to wait.
Can’t forget the candy store Pasteles. We stopped by for ice cream every day after pool or beach. The candy was generic taste as was most of the dessert. But ice cream was our winner for sure. They also had the best chocolate and white covered strawberries.
There are 2 beaches: Norte beach, near Habaneros was beautiful. The soft sand made it an excellent spot for kids. Sahara beach was a few more steps (on other side). VERY calm, and soft sand. The kids club rented toys so we were able to use there for the kids.
For the pools, we didn’t have any issues with finding chairs. We went out about 9:30. There is a lot of umbrellas so ask someone to help setup your chairs. Given them a few bucks as a tip. They work hard to please you.
For cabanas, we rented one but with the umbrellas, you may not need one unless very little kids who want to rest. The kids were in the water most of the time anyway.
Activities and entertainment are plenty throughout the resort but they flip flop to which pool they’ll keep busier. At the club pool, they set up a water obstacle course on two of the days we were there—a hit with the whole family. The kids were all about arts and crafts, but they also had wax hands, created masks, personalized beach bags and hats. On a rainy day, they spent hours at the kids' club, not wanting to leave. The staff in the kids club is wonderful. My daughter in law was very impressed. We all wished there was kids club stayed open later so parents could go do dinner, even just one night of extended hours. There was singers, dancers, and performers out by the norte pool every day. Music and just fun. There wasn’t a foam party there (that we could see).
One thing I can comment about this resort – it’s impeccably clean and beautiful setting. Housekeeping deserves big kudos. Tip the housekeepers!
Just in case you want some tips:
1-use the fast lane at the airport if no kids (electronic immigration scans your passport).
2-pack light as you are in your trunks or swimsuit for most of the day.
3-ask staff for help. Don’t settle; if something isn’t right, they will make it right (but don't be mean or overly needy, be respectful). The staff take great pride in their work and to please guests.
4-if you want to work out, the gym is one of the best we’ve seen.
5-go for beach walks early in morning or late in day; too hot in mid day.
6-Get best prices thru a member. Our friends told us about their trip and saved thru a member of vacation club to book through and compared rates. HIGHLY recommend doing this! Saved us a lot of money (over $1000). I mentioned above that there were timeshare sales when we arrived. When we booked with the member, we specifically asked if we had to sit through membership presentation. We did NOT, so we were well prepared in advance that no sales pitch was required. The member is from Real Club Resorts (not the same as the timeshare at Ziva) and she has a Facebook group but you can send me a private message and I can give you her contact information, too.
Her group is facebook. com/groups/allinclusivediscounts. We've done this a few times with her and also booked our Zilara trip (review coming soon) thru her. Wyndham Alltra as well. Thinking about Royalton next.
7-we didn’t leave the resort for activities except shopping one day. If the kids asked for an activity, we contacted the entertainment staff to give us a rundown of what we could do. But between kids club and the entertainment crew, we were busy.
8-spa is expensive, but we did indulge for my wife and DIL.
9-gift shop is unaffordable. Walk a few blocks to the flea market or mall. LOTS of stuff available nearby (you’ll be hounded by the sellers but we just smiled and kept walking until we found what we wanted). Sunblock is crazy expensive and half the price at the pharmacy down the road.
10-they'll blow up floaties at the store down by the pool
11-make sure you are booking HYATT Ziva CANCUN not HYATT Ziva RIVIERA Cancun. We met two families that originally thought they were same resort and iniitally booked at RIviera Cancun thinking it was Cancun. They are not. While Ziva Riviera is nice, the Cancun site is so much better. Using a member discount (see #6 above) makes Cancun more affordable. But the prices at Riviera are significantly less. Hyatt should consider changing the name!

2024.05.07 12:03 CarlosJ4497 Future travel to Japan looking for trade.

Hello everyone! At the end of the year I'll travel to Japan and I would like to bring back with me some coins to my father (he is the collector). Talking with him he proposed to gave me some European (pre euro, mostly pesetas from Spain) coins to trade during my trip. The ones that he will give me are nothing special.
I think that is a good idea, but I would like to know your opinion and also some stores that would accept this, just to not carry a kilogram of coins for nothing. Thank you!

2024.05.07 11:58 fcon91 My experience trying to switch to the Meta Quest 3

As per title, I've bought the new Meta Quest 3, and I wanted to write my honest experience as someone who's interested in PCVR only. Being used to the Valve Index, I was amazed at the resolution, the hand tracking, the passthrough, and the head movement tracking in general, everything felt almost as good as base station tracking. I was a bit disappointed by the sound and the controllers, but I thought in the beginning that it's something I could get used to, or upgrade in some way. But let's move on to the PCVR experience.
First thing I tried to do, was to use Steam Link to connect to the PC via wireless. Now, before commenting about what you're about to read, keep in mind that I have a WiFi 6 router and I'm a computer science major, so I know what I'm doing. I've booted up Steam, connected my headset, my SteamVR home appeared in the Quest 3, so far so good. Started up Fallout 4, and I was blown away by the details. The excitement faded very soon, when I've started to realise that I would have to deal with unbearable stuttering. I opened the SteamVR Remote Detailed Debug, and I noticed a lot of latency spikes, did a lot of troubleshooting, and I didn't find why it was happening. Same story with Meta Quest Link and OpenXR. Thinking that maybe my Quest 3 could be defective, I've tried a bit of the free games included in the Meta account. Everything worked perfectly and smoothly, even the mixed reality ones.
I ordered an aftermarket powered cable to try and see whether I could use this headset connected to the PC via cable. I'm not interested in using the official cable, because I do endurance simracing, therefore, a headset that loses power after about 1 or 2 hours of heavy usage is useless to me. This morning the cable arrived, and I took a quick break from work (I work from home) to test the cable. I connected everything as it should be done, opened Meta Quest Link, and at first everything looked fine, but I soon started to see some distortions and flickering in the interface. I proceeded to disconnect everything and do the only thing that I can do: perform a factory reset and pack it to return it to the store this evening.
TL;DR: I've tried switching to the Quest 3 for PCVR, it didn't work. You're better off sticking to the Valve Index, or if you want to do an upgrade, switch to headsets specifically designed with a wired connection in mind.

2024.05.07 11:47 ZooeiiVJ Will there be more character customization-options later in the game?

I am new to the game after getting the bored with Ghost Recon Breakpoint, and I think its quite fun so far, but the character customization seems very limited. I am only level 9 and have unlocked the customization-option in the menu, but its just nothing there. Where are the hair customization? Does that open up later when I am higher level? I can choose between a few archetypes or what they are called, 3 women and 8 or 9 men. Is this it, or are new women/men-types rewards in battle pass or higher levels or in the cash store? I am just confused, because normally in free to play games there is lots of character customizations because thats where they make their money, but in this game we all look like the same dude?
Also, I have to say, as a Norwegian who live in the area where the game is played out, that the developers made Norway really well. This actually looks and feels like the north of Norway. The roadsigns, flowers, vegetation, houses and all seems very authentic. Even the phone-boots looks just as they did a few decades ago. They use correct norwegian on names of stuff and not the usual norwegian-swedish combo we mostly see in games or movies when they try to picture Scandinavia, so hats off for the devs on this one I will say! :)

2024.05.07 11:24 TheLotStore Exploring Your Options for Budget-Friendly Land for Sale Near You

Exploring Your Options for Budget-Friendly Land for Sale Near You
Exploring Your Options for Budget-Friendly Land for Sale Near You
In the current swiftly moving and cutthroat property market, locating cost-effective land for sale can appear overwhelming. Nevertheless, by delving into a bit of investigation and adventure, you can unveil concealed treasures that suit your budget and fulfill your requirements. Whether your intention is to construct your ideal abode, initiate a small farm, or invest in a piece of land for future advancement, there are abundant economical choices accessible close to you.
While procuring land, the primary element to remember is locality. The nearer a property is to metropolitan hubs and conveniences, the pricier it typically is. However, if you're amenable to exploring a tad further out, you can come across more budget-friendly alternatives that still provide access to pivotal amenities and resources. Prior to commencing your search, ponder over your priorities – do you necessitate proximity to schools, shopping centers, or healthcare facilities? Or are you in pursuit of a serene retreat far away from the commotion of city life?
One possibility to mull over is acquiring land in remote regions or petite towns. These areas frequently boast lower land costs in contrast to urban hubs, rendering them appealing choices for financially aware purchasers. Moreover, rural land generally offers more expanse and seclusion, which can entice individuals desiring to establish a homestead or getaway. Bear in mind that rural properties could have restricted access to utilities and amenities, so it's imperative to consider these expenses when contemplating a procurement.
Another avenue to delve into is purchasing land in emerging zones. As cities elongate and expand, erstwhile disregarded neighborhoods and suburbs might witness a surge in land worth. By purchasing land in a budding district, you could potentially gain from future appreciation and progress. Look out for areas undergoing rejuvenation endeavors, such as enhancements to infrastructure, novel enterprises migrating in, or an influx of younger dwellers. These indicators can suggest that the area is on the uprising and might provide lucrative investment prospects.
Should you seek a more unconventional choice, contemplate procuring land that is at present underutilized or in need of redevelopment. Brownfield sites, former industrial zones, or abandoned properties are often obtainable at reduced rates due to their present state. By investing in these parcels and initiating rejuvenation undertakings, you can metamorphose them into valuable assets and contribute to the revival of the neighborhood. Keep in mind that invigorating land can entail a complex process demanding meticulous planning and investment, thus ensure to scrutinize the viability of your venture before finalizing a purchase.
When pondering budget-friendly land for sale, it is crucial to contemplate your long-standing objectives and how the property integrates into your comprehensive aims. Are you in search of a short-term investment or a prolonged possession? Will you require financial support to make the purchase, and if so, what are your alternatives for securing a loan? Do you possess the expertise and resources to develop the land yourself, or will you necessitate outsourcing professionals to provide assistance? These are all crucial factors to evaluate when assessing potential properties and reaching a decision.
In addition to traditional real estate listings, there are several resources at your disposal to pinpoint budget-friendly land for sale close by. Online marketplaces such as Zillow, Realtor.com, and LandWatch present an extensive array of properties at diverse price points. You can refine your search by location, pricing range, acreage, and other criteria to narrow down your selections. Local real estate agents can also be worthwhile resources, as they oftentimes possess privileged insights into available properties and forthcoming listings in the vicinity.
Another path to reflect on is participating in land auctions or tax sales. These gatherings can represent an excellent means to come across reduced-rate properties that may not be obtainable on the open market. At auctions, properties are typically vended to the highest bidder, hence brace yourself to proffer a competitive bid if you're attracted to a specific plot of land. Keep in mind that procuring at auction can be risky, as properties are frequently sold as-is and could have liens or other matters needing resolution.
Ahead of finalizing a purchase, ensure to carry out due diligence on the property to confirm that it complies with your requirements and aligns with your aspirations. This could encompass researching the property's background, conducting a title investigation, and hiring a surveyor to validate boundaries and access rights. You may also wish to consult with local zoning officials to identify what types of developments are permitted on the property and whether any licenses or approvals are mandated.
In closure, exploring your alternatives for budget-friendly land for sale in your proximity necessitates meticulous planning and examination. By weighing diverse locations, property sorts, and investment tactics, you can discover a parcel of land that suits your budget and fulfills your needs. Whether you are seeking a rustic retreat, an investment potential, or a development scheme, numerous cost-effective options are within reach if you are prepared to put in the effort. Good luck with your search!

2024.05.07 10:50 marmaladesmith Store Overhaul - Item Variations (Critique/Help)

Hello all - long time lurker, very rare commenteposter.
I started my store 2+ years ago off of the back of a very enjoyable hyper-fixation (I've quickly made 300+ lanyards, all now on my Etsy store - still going!).
At the time of starting, I listed each product individually, following advice that suggested obtaining as much real estate on the search results page as possible - and I've continued to do so as the years went on! Now, however, as I move towards creating my own website, I've been assessing things in a little more detail - especially as Etsy is so quiet at the moment. (I've gone from around 5x sales a month to only 2 in the past 30 days - this is the number I want to improve.)
I believe that if I collated all of my lanyards into collections, I'd reduce the total amount of listings by 200+. For example, I have 10x 'Red Sunflower' lanyards, which I could reduce into one listing with all 10x included. The reason I didn't do this previously was to show each lanyard in more detail, specifically with the videos. My head is filled with pros/cons of retaining the current structure, but I'm not an expert! Keeping them as they are allows for mass visibility, but reducing into one post may be a better converter, etc...
Overall visibility doesn't seem to be dreadful, but if I carry on selling, I want to make sure I give myself every opportunity to do well. I've not really asked for much advice before, so I'm taking the time to do so now.
Link to store - https://rpfurnishings.etsy.com
Thanks to anyone in advance who takes the time to read through - if anymore information is needed, let me know.
