I am a first-time DM, and I am DEVASTATED!
I made a D&D campaign from scratch- lore, NPCs, monsters, environment, etc. All of it is inspired by Candyland. There was one player whose character was chaotic evil which was fine, but I didn't expect him to be a total dick.
Upon entering my campaign, there is a little information station that is triggered by donating a copper coin in a box. A gnome statue blows a bubble, and a minor illusion of the queen tells you about the land. The party didn't get a chance to donate or learn about the land because Chaotic Dickhead destroyed the donation box and stole all the money.
It only gets worse from there.
There are cows that make different flavors of milk- chocolate, vanilla, strawberry, and banana- and he killed two of my four cows for no reason. Later, he set fire to the Licky Lizard tree, sacred flamed the cinnamini colony, KILLED THE FRIENDLY CEREAL MILK DRAGON who would have given some awesome treasure, and basically ruined this campaign. I understand wanting to be chaotic evil- it can be fun to be a jerk sometimes, but this was over the top, in my humble opinion. I worked hard on this campaign,n and I now have a sour taste in my mouth about it.
I was visibly frustrated, and he kept verbally poking at me about it, saying I needed to get a sense of humor and go with the flow more, but when we came to actually meeting a Harengon family, and he wanted to kill the youngest Harengon because "It's what my character would do" - I had had enough.
He rolled to attack, and he rolled a Nat 1. In retaliation, Daddy Hare came out of the bunny bungalow with a meat cleaver the size of a Great Axe and swung it at the character's head with advantage. I rolled a Nat 20 and did 1d12+6+2 damage (20 points of slashing damage) and beheaded the character who had 17 hp.
He threw a fit and left the table; baby hare, daddy hare, and mummy hare took in the rest of the party, had supper, and the game ended there as the rest was basically unsalvagable.
Was I a jerk, or was the player a jerk?

Along the way, he befriends Pippin the Plush Bear, who’s surprisingly good at solving riddles, and Casca the Cupcake, a fierce warrior with frosting armor. Together, they face challenges like the Tickle Forest, where giggles are the deadliest weapon, and the Gummy Goblins, who guard the secret entrance to the Sprinkle Caves.
But beware! The villainous Griffith the Gelatinous, a shape-shifting dessert, seeks to steal Guts Jr.'s candy-making skills. Can our pint-sized hero overcome his sweet tooth and save the day?
Catchphrase: “Sugar, spice, and sword fights nice!”
And so, my friends, let us gather 'round the TV, grab our cotton candy swords, and embark on this sugary epic.

-Designer: Ah, my dear friend, you seek a darker twist for our whimsical tale? Very well, let me weave a shadowy thread into our candy-coated fabric.
**Title:** *Berserk Babies: Shadows of Licorice*
**Synopsis:**
In the cursed village of **Candycorn Hollow**, where the sun rarely dares to peek, young **Guts Jr.** wields a mini sword forged from the souls of forgotten lollipops. His quest? Not for sugary delights, but vengeance. For the **Marshmallow Dragon** has devoured his parents, leaving only sticky memories behind.
**Pippin the Plush Bear**, scarred by battles with gummy worms, joins Guts Jr. on this grim journey. Pippin's button eyes hold secrets darker than the licorice forests they traverse. And **Casca the Cupcake**, once a sweet confection, now wears frosting scars and a haunted glaze. Her past is etched in sprinkles.
Together, they face horrors beyond rainbow bridges:

• The **Eclipse Playground**, where swings creak with lost souls.
  
• The **Black Licorice Abyss**, where despair drips like molasses.
  
• And the **Cavity Castle**, ruled by the malevolent **Griffith the Gelatinous**, who seeks to devour their innocence.
  

Guts Jr.'s catchphrase echoes through the void:

And so, my friend, prepare for a twisted confectionery saga. The **Berserk Babies** shall rise, their innocence shattered, their candy hearts aflame.
So I started up this post just to share the cringe chuckle. Second set of images came out pretty much the same. Worked better on a Wolverine vs Batman prompt.
I managed to get the characters looking somewhat like JoJo renditions of Guts and Griffith (Casca came out as a isekai holy maiden or a sorceress in different images) and the AI wouldn't let me make a dark and violent images of it's care bear ideas for Berserk listed above. Ah well, would've been hilarious.

Lucas tapped the flat of his finger twice on the partially open door, more to let Boyd know he was coming than actually requesting permission to enter. He pushed it open and strode through as the somewhat welcoming grunt came from within.
“Hey, sexy,” he said, crossing the two rooms to zoom in on Boyd sitting at his bench. On the spinner before Boyd was a larger figure than he had ever done before: an eighteen-inch figure of a woman with an hourglass figure wearing a form-fitting formal gown that flowed to the floor, swaying as if she’d just stepped to her right. Her hands were curled as if she were holding something or someone, but that part was missing.
“Ooooh,” Lucas said, resting his head on Boyd’s shoulder to examine the piece closer. “She’s pretty.”
“She’s also the viscount’s granddaughter, who I think is married to a prince somewhere in Eastern Europe. I’d have to pull out her details again, but she’s already got two kids, and she still looks this good.”
“She doesn’t look old enough to have two kids.”
“That’s what happens when you marry when you’re still a teenager.”
“Please tell me it wasn’t an arranged marriage.”
Boyd did a slow pan to level an annoyed look at him.
“What? They used to.”
“Slavery was a thing in America back in the day, too.”
Lucas made a deflating raspberry. “If you want to get technical,” he grumbled.
Boyd twisted his seat to face him, loosely curling his arms around Lucas’ waist. “Where are you off to, Mister Soon-To-Be-Masters?”
Oh-ho. Someone’s feeling playful. “I thought you were going to become a Dobson,” Lucas countered, leaning in to give him a quick morning kiss.
“Yeah, but then I was reminded I do have family that I care about.”
“None of which are Masters. Your mom and Aunt Judy are sisters who changed their names when they married. If you were going to take any of their names, we’d both be changing to Davenport.”
Boyd looked down at where their abdomens rested against each other.
“Hey,” Lucas said, sliding his hand under Boyd’s chin and lifting it so he could see those beautiful baby blues focusing on him. “What’s going on, love?”
Boyd opened his mouth to speak, but no words came out. He tried twice more. “Ten years,” he finally croaked. “They took me in and gave me a home within the family for nearly two years, and I repaid them by cutting them out of my life the second I could. Who does that to their own?”
“Somebody with a lot of fear,” Lucas answered honestly. "And that somebody isn’t you anymore. You’ve invited Emily to be our accountant, and personally, I hope you know what you’re doing there…”
“Emily has always been good with money. The only time she’s ever been off is when she borrows money from you, and you go to get it back. By the time she’s finished explaining all the financial movement around the transaction, you end up owing her twice as much, and she’s really convincing. Computerised flow charts and everything.”
Lucas hoped he was exaggerating. If Emily had been that quick and deceptive to separate Boyd from his money when she was a teenager, she might have been even more cunning now. Lucas would remain attentive until she proved herself because the love of his life had earned this break. “Okay,” was all he said since he didn’t want to argue.
Boyd nipped the tip of his nose. “Don’t you ‘okay’ me in that tone of voice.”
Lucas pulled back and rubbed the back of his hand against his nose. It hadn’t hurt, but it was weird. No one had ever done that before. “I’m a cop, love. In my world, it’s guilty until proven innocent.”
“Getting back to my original question. Where are you going?”
“I’m going to go and get some supplies for Levi and Maddy. The dumbass has been worrying himself sick over where he can leave Maddy on short notice if he and Austin get called out to a fire together. They can’t waste up to an hour each way getting over to Queens and Brooklyn.”
“Tell him she can stay with us,” Boyd said without hesitation. I’ll be here all the time, and if I’m out and it’s an emergency dump-and-run, I can drop whatever I’m doing and call someone to teleport me back.”
Lucas leaned in and kissed him again. “And that’s just one of the many reasons I love you,” he said once they parted. “Charlie will be here too, which means Robbie won’t be far away either. Levi still wants to run it past Llyr since it’s his place, but so long as we keep her on our side and away from Miss W, it won’t be a problem.”
“You’ll need to remember to lock up your guns when she’s here.”
Lucas nodded thoughtfully in agreement without speaking. It would devastate everyone if Maddy somehow managed to get her hands on one of his work firearms and fire it. He’d need to get a thumbprint safe – something that he could get at very quickly in a crisis.
“How is she with beds?”
“What?”
“Don’t little kids have those hospital guardrail things, so they don’t roll out of bed and hurt themselves? I mean, your bed isn’t that far from the floor, but if you’re getting supplies, you might want to think about some of those things to keep her in.”
Lucas hadn’t thought about that. “Okay, then it’s going to be a bigger shopping trip than I thought, but that’s alright. Levi and Maddy are going to chill in the apartment until I get back.”
“Do you want me to check in on them?”
“Nah, it should be fine. Levi knows where Charlie’s office is, and if he’s going to annoy anyone while they’re at work, it should be our sister.” Lucas turned Boyd back to his carving and leaned his head on Boyd’s shoulder. “You keep outdoing yourself, you know that, right?”
“These tools are magic. I can’t do a thing wrong with them.” With a slight grimace, he added, “Hey, have you ever heard the story about the kid who gets the magic piano?”
Lucas squinted warily. “Am I going to like this story?”
“It’s a cautionary tale. This kid finds a magic piano, and all he has to do is work the pedals, and the piano plays itself. No one notices it’s not the kid, and the kid’s ego grows with each performance until he’s an international sensation. Then, he has a fight with the piano over who the star really is. The following night, the piano refuses to play, and the kid is booed off the stage. His family is left financially ruined.”
“I will beat you within an inch of your life if you equate that to you.”
Boyd looked at him. “How can I not? I mean, when I relax and just let the tools do what they’re made to do, the pieces come out flawlessly—every time. But the second I worry, minor defects creep in. Nothing I can’t counter and fix, but still…”
“If it concerns you that much, why not do a piece every now and then without the divine tools to prove to yourself that the skill is yours and the tools are just tools?”
Boyd looked over the divine toolset, then back up at the shelf where his older tools were. “That’s a good idea,” he admitted.
Lucas lightly kissed him on the lips and stepped out of his grasp. “I’ve been known to have them now and again. Oh, and don’t forget we’re going to Angus’ this afternoon. Just the six of us.”
Boyd raised his left hand in acknowledgment, but his focus was back on the carving even as his right hand picked up a scalpel of some kind and drove it across the carving’s middle. The blade was then smoothly passed to his left hand to make an incision from that side while his right reached for a new tool.
As he’d said, his motions were flawless, with chips and shavings flying at the speed of a professional wood chopper. Lucas could watch him work all day, but if he was going to make it to Angus’, he needed to leave now.
He let himself out and headed for the main front door to the level.
A little over an hour later, after grabbing several sets of clothes in his brother’s size, Lucas was standing in the middle of the children’s clothing section, blinking in confusion at all the options. He would go to touch one, then back away, unsure.
He must have looked pitiful because a staff member in her mid-thirties took pity on him and approached with a warm smile. “Can I help you?”
“Yeah, this is crazy,” he answered, gesturing to the millions of clothes options before them. “My brother asked me to look after my niece in an emergency, and I want her to have whatever she’ll need at my place in case he doesn’t have time to take her home.” He looked at all the clothes. “Whatever that entails.”
“That’s really sweet. Is your brother a doctor?”
“Fireman.”
The woman gave Lucas the once over. “I can see that.”
Lucas chuckled. It wasn’t anything he hadn’t heard before. Between him, Levi and Mav all sharing their dad’s muscle, they’d always caught people’s eye. “Anyway,” he said, wanting to move this along. “My niece is three going on four, and she’s about this high,” he said, showing her height as an inch or two under his hip.
“Does she have any favourite TV shows?”
“Spongebob,” Lucas said, incredibly grateful for his conversation with Levi over breakfast. He’d have never had that answer otherwise. “And if you’re not doing anything after we get her clothes sorted, my fiancé mentioned something about bed rails since she’ll be sleeping in my old queen-sized bed. This is an all-in shopping trip for her, and I have no idea what to get.”
“Do you have any toys for her? And no, I’m not pushing for a commission here. Little minds need to be kept stimulated, or little hands will end up in places they have no business being. If this is your first time looking after her, you’re going to want a few toys, books, and things to keep her busy.”
“My brother is already nagging me about buying her the basics. What would you recommend that won’t make it seem like I’m trying to buy her affection?”
“Are you okay with electronics, or are you trying to steer her away from that?”
“It doesn’t faze me. It’s more the cost. I don’t want to buy her what my brother hasn’t or can’t afford. I’ve been into too many households where kids have every version of PlayStation, Xbox and Nintendo and every known game that goes with them. Those kids appreciate nothing, and that’s not something I’m okay with.”
“You see a lot of people’s houses?”
“I was a beat cop for over eight years before my promotion.”
“A policeman and a fireman? I’m sure there's a joke involving a bar in there somewhere.”
“If there were, the third person would be an ice hockey player,” Lucas chuckled again, already liking this woman. As they wandered through the aisles, she added things to his cart. Clothes were first, but they quickly moved on to toys. A couple of generic soft toys. and the board game “Candyland”. Lucas grabbed ‘Hungry, Hungry Hippos’, as that was one he and his brothers had played when he’d been Maddy’s age. Then came two large boxes of Duplo.
Not once did it feel like the sales assistant was pushing an agenda. She even paused to consider the options as if she were buying them for her own kids. Lucas really appreciated that.
As they were walking the isles, Lucas came to a screeching halt and stared at a range of doctor, nurse and vet play sets. Two jumped out at him. One had a plastic pet carrier with a handful of bulky instruments, and the other came in a bright blue bag with red handles and a white pawprint on the side. It had a comprehensive range, including toy bandages, pill bottles, cream jars, syringes, a stethoscope and even a cone of shame. Both went into the cart after he checked to make sure the two soft animals would fit in the carrier.
Mason’ll have a field day showing her exactly how to simulate using all this stuff, he thought to himself with a grin.
“You’re really very thoughtful,” the woman said after he explained why they both had to be purchased.
Lucas specifically asked for books after that. Real books with paper pages. He was sure his mother (as a high school English teacher) would murder him in his sleep if he didn’t buy Maddy at least ten books ranging from ones she could memorise and pretend to read (which, in her grandmother’s eyes, taught her word structure and was the first step in learning to read), with ones he could read to her. And that, of course, required Spongebob bookends to hold them together.
“Your fiancé is a lucky woman if you’re willing to do all of this for your niece,” she said once the cart was full and they were heading back to the checkouts.
“Yes, he is,” Lucas agreed, deliberately sliding in Boyd’s gender without making a huge issue of it.
Her eyes widened in horror. “Oh, I’m so sorry. Wow, I really shouldn’t make that assumption anymore, and I apologise.”
Because this was New York. “Apology accepted,” Lucas said, waving it aside. Boyd might have been embarrassed, but thankfully, he wasn’t here. “Thanks again for all your help.”

Heya guys! Just letting you know I need to take a week off. [It’s nothing to do with the community here, I promise! I love writing this, and I’ll be back as soon as I can.]
In fact it's … you know what? Stuff it. You guys might as well know. Remember how I mentioned earlier this year we were fighting for more care for my special needs daughter?
That’s the issue.
Our support coordinator has our written authority to act on our behalf. Yet we’ve been told in writing from the government department that if she doesn’t back off, the whole request, including thousands of dollars of specialists interviewing our daughter and reporting their findings, will be deleted, and our request, including all-new interviews and reports, will have to start all over again.
I’m almost at the point where I’m not sleeping, but our support coordinator has promised us to fight because, in her words, “This is getting ridiculous.”
I’ve been really struggling to write this week with everything going on in the background. I’ve finally admitted I need to pull back (just for one week—I mean it when I say how much I love this writing and the little community we’ve formed) to focus on sorting out the mess, so that my writing isn’t tarnished by the battlelines that are being drawn up in the background.
(I already scrapped a page and a half because my anger at things [I bounce between anger and depression] had people who were usually very chill (Robbie) acting in a very aggressive manner that simply wasn’t them. Because of this, I’ve already used up several of my backlog this week and I loathe to lose any more, given how hard they were to build up. (The thought of using them up without others to take their place was also adding to my stress.)
And I was told by my beta reader, ‘Given you’ve been doing this for over three years, and you’ve only had the occasional day off due to sickness, take the week and regroup, stronger than ever.
I agreed. This means my next post will be on Monday, the 27th, Australian Time.
I hope with all my heart that you’ll all still be with me when I return next week.

After I did my first money diary (another travel diary) last fall, I realized I really like the thought exercise. My life day-to-day is exceedingly boring (I know everyone thinks this, but seriously), so I told myself I'd make a travel diary every time we go somewhere, big or small. It’s also nice to read through and remember later!
It's interesting to look back on too, because we just spend whatever while traveling, which is pretty different from home life (I mean, $14 to park at the free museum, are you kidding me?!). But this trip is a little closer to a reflection of our “normal” life than a big trip, since the purpose is to just be with my in-laws, as opposed to touristing around.
So this week, we (my husband S, daughter H, and I) road-trip to Cleveland to visit my in-laws and spend most of our money on food.
Section One: Bio
I’m 38 years old and work in healthcare. I am married and share all expenses & assets with my husband, with the exception of our retirement accounts. My husband is the same age as me and in the same profession. Since my last diary, I dropped my FTE from 1.0 to 0.9, so while my hourly pay rate is the same, my yearly salary is lower.
I live in a MCOL, mid-sized city in Virginia.
I accrue 18.01 hours of PTO a month, independent of hours worked. My PTO is deducted at an hourly rate as well, not daily.
Section Two: Assets + Debt
Retirement Balance: Mine = $252,493.54 and my husband’s = $214,953.72 for a total of $467,447.26. (These are all in target-date funds.)
Home: We have about $300,000, maybe a little more, of equity in our house with $468,482.39 remaining on the loan. We bought in 2019, just before housing prices went crazy in our area. Our property value has appreciated significantly, accounting for a good amount of our equity, though we also did some fairly extensive renovations after we bought it.
Savings account balance: I have two HYS accounts with Discover at 4.25% with a total of $107,554.38. One is our actual savings account and one is the account from which we pay our student loans.
Checking account balance: $39,258.49. I usually keep this around $40,000. I know it’s a lot and I should move more to my HYS. I'm a new YNAB user, and I’m hoping after another month or two of watching everything, I'll feel more confident to lower the amount that sits in here.
Credit card debt: Zero.
Student loan debt: Me = $17,755.71 and my husband = $34,026.96, for a total of $51,782.67. I’ve been paying these off aggressively over the past few years. We started with about $250,000-300,000 in student loan debt. (I don't know/have mentally blocked the exact, horrific number. Does anyone know a way you can see all of your payments/previous balance? We've each had multiple servicers at this point, and I can't figure out how to see the comprehensive picture.)
Car loan: My car is paid off. We have loans on my husband and nanny’s cars of like ~$20,000.
Total Assets: $914,260.13 Total Debt: ~$540,000
Section Three: Income
Main Job Monthly Take Home: Differs by a couple hundred dollars each month, but my last paycheck was $9,276.38. The differences are due to shift differentials. I have $2,550.21 in pre-tax deductions (retirement contributions, medical/dental/vision insurance {I carry for my family}, and work parking {We have to pay to park at the hospital. Eyeroll.}). I have $35.99 of post-tax deduction for voluntary short term disability buy up - this increases my STD pay to 60% of salary from 50%. Lastly, I have $4,307.34 of taxes.
My husband works locums 1099, so his monthly income is variable, and we pay quarterly estimated taxes on his income. We also purchase things like his malpractice and disability insurance, whereas those are provided to me by my employer. His gross salary works out to something like $350,000/year.
We have no other income streams.
Section Four: Travel Expenses
Pre-paid expenses: $226.80 for our B&B in PA
Saturday, Day 1:
We wake up early, eat breakfast, and get going. We're driving straight through from central Virginia to Cleveland. We're already packed from the night before, have our coffees prepped, and have a bag full of snacks from Trader Joe's for the road (Sumo oranges, bananas, Scandinavian swimmers {so much better than swedish fish}, Pringles knock-offs, peanut butter filled pretzels, grapes, and peanuts). (Bought yesterday, but let's count it here: $33.28)
It rains literally the entire trip. Hours and hours of rain. So much rain. We do pretty well despite that. Make three stops for gas ($14.85), bathroom, lunch ($26.46), and coffee & snacks ($7.38). We normally stop at a playground to get some energy out, but the rain obviously hampers that plan this time. My daughter does really well despite this, though she DJs more than we'd prefer. Good news, we get in well before we planned. Total travel time was ~8 ½ hours.
We had told my in-laws to not expect us for dinner though, and suddenly, here we are! We decide on ramen takeout, and it’s so good. My MIL gets yakisoba, S and FIL each get spicy miso ramen, my daughter gets edamame and also steals some of my tonkotsu ramen. My in-laws pay for dinner.
Day 1 Total: $81.97
Sunday, Day 2:
In Virginia, spring is peeking around the corner, but we wake up to snow here in Cleveland! H is very excited, although the blustery weather shifts us indoors for the day.
We start with coffee and breakfast at Luna’s. Coffees, a croissant for H that's the size of her head, lemon & berries crepe for S, and avocado toast for me (+ tip), all delicious = $43.83
We then head to the Cleveland Museum of Art, which is beautiful, has a pretty world-class collection, and is free! However, we decide to park in the attached deck out of laziness and the weather, which is $14. We'd normally drive around for an hour looking for a street spot before paying that at home, but we're on vacation so time and money aren't real. We find some favorites in the museum (helloooo Degas dancers!!) and let our daughter lead us around scavenger hunting. (Pro tip: a great way to engage kids in the museum!)
We go to Little Italy, which is where my husband lived during college, for lunch. We eat lunch at Presti’s, his favorite old school Italian bakery. We have a pizza bread, a meatball sub, and a stromboli for lunch, cannoli for dessert, and pick out a box of cookies for later (+ tip) = $61.46
We spend the rest of the afternoon at home and my MIL makes us dinner. Corned beef, cabbage, potatoes, and carrots - a very March in Cleveland dinner! We add a bottle of wine we brought from home - a 2020 Merlot from one of our favorite Virginia wineries that's drinking really nicely now and those cookies.

Monday, Day 3:
We eat breakfast at home and then go to the park(s). We start at Headlands Beach State Park/Headlands Dunes Nature Preserve which I love. It is very cold and windy today though. The storm from yesterday has passed, but the lake seems unaware and looks very angry. We do a mini hike along the dunes, but decide it's too cold to wander on the beach for very long as we originally planned. We then go to a playground at one of the metroparks and head home for lunch. We eat leftovers from last night’s dinner.
In the afternoon, H and I play games, color, and read books with my MIL, while S goes on a run and to the grocery store. We find Candyland and Trouble circa 1992! H is now a big Trouble fan, coincidentally. S gets ingredients to cook dinner for the three of us, my in-laws, and his aunt ($87.44). We have some charcuterie for pre-dinner snacking/appetizer and then make spaghetti al limone and a raw veggie salad for dinner. Plus some more wine we brought from home (a Virginia white blend to start, followed by a Portuguese red).

Tuesday, Day 4:
We head to the west side of Cleveland this morning, starting our day at Leavened, which I'm very excited to try. We get coffees, H again gets a chocolate croissant the size of her head, I get a cinnamon bun the size of my head, and S gets a cardamom bun & the seasonal special Reuben croissant (+ tip) ($38.14). Everything is amazing, and I spend all of breakfast lamenting that we don't need one of the beautiful loaves of bread that are staring at me. Clearly my whining got to my husband, because he goes and buys the loaf of kalamata olive sourdough I'm drooling over (and another Reuben croissant to take home to my FIL), and we convince ourselves we can definitely eat it all before we leave tomorrow ($13.20). Challenge accepted, obviously.
Next, we go to Edgewater Park for awhile, which has an excellent playground H loves. Great views of the lake and the city skyline too, so it's a favorite for the adults as well. Cleveland/Northeast Ohio does parks and public lands very well; I'm always impressed compared to home/where I grew up.
Next we swing by this bookstore I like to visit whenever we come here. They have no bestsellers or popular titles, but everything is very cheap. We tell H she can pick out some new books and S gets one as well ($45.68).
As we're walking out, we discuss how H needs to eat some food of substance for lunch, since she's been consuming her weight in sugar the past few days. This is comically nixed a few storefronts down, when my husband spots vegan buckeye as the special at Mitchell's Ice Cream. (The context: I'm lactose intolerant and am often disappointed in the flavor options available to me AND I adore buckeyes.) So we shift gears and have ice cream for lunch! (+ tip $26.88)
We go back home, play some more Trouble, and S & my FIL go through some things he wants us to take home with us. I suddenly realize I need vegan butter to enjoy my much coveted kalamata olive toast in the morning, so we run to a grocery store and naturally stop by the nearby playground ($2.59).
We feed H leftovers for dinner. We don't eat because we're planning to go out solo after she's asleep. This plan fails spectacularly. The time change was a few days ago, and tonight is when it all falls apart. That plus being away from home and the fact that my in-laws keep their house at 75° finally catches up I think, and we suffer through the worst attempt at bedtime in months, if not years. Once she's asleep, it's late and we're exhausted, so we just go to sleep too. So much for date night with a free babysitter.

Wednesday, Day 5:
We're leaving today, but aren't rushing because we're only going to drive halfway-ish back in one day this time. We have the kalamata olive sourdough toast for breakfast, and it's as good as I hoped.
I have a meeting I'm joining virtually, so I go hide after breakfast. I wouldn't normally do work-related things on vacation, but this group was interested in hearing about some research I did, and I decided it was worth the 30 minutes of my vacation morning, because I want to generate more interest in this work. I present, do a brief Q&A, and get lots of positive feedback, so it was the right choice. While I was on the Zoom, my husband packed us up and made sandwiches for the car from our bread and leftover charcuterie items. We say goodbye to my in-laws and get going.
We stop for gas ($28.29) and coffee ($11.40) before jumping on the highway. We prefer independent coffee shops generally, but sometimes the allure of that drive-thru window is hard to overcome. We stop once to pee on the 4ish hour drive and top off with gas again while we're stopped ($24.14). We reach our destination of Bedford, PA, chosen solely because I wanted to stay in a cute little town. It fits the bill!
We playground for awhile at a little spot right on the banks of the river. It now feels like spring again! H is mad I didn't pack her any shorts. We count some birds, including some pretty ducks swimming on the river. Then we check into our B&B (previously paid for, noted above) and it fulfills all of my gorgeous, small-town B&B fantasies!
We then head for dinner at Horn O’Plenty. This place is quite the amalgamation - it's got old country store vibes, but they're cranking out wood-fired pizzas and make their own kimchi, sodas, pickles, and other ferments. I love it. We get some of those house-made sodas (apple ginger & lemon lime), two appetizers, three entrees, and a dessert to share + tip ($140). My eyes were bigger than my stomach; this is way too much! Everything is delicious, and I'm a little sad we didn't try a pizza too. Where I would put it, I don't know.
Back to the B&B. The innkeepehostess offers us charcuterie and wine for after H is asleep, and while I wish I had a third stomach, we decline and go to bed too.

Thursday, Day 6:
The breakfast portion of the B&B is incredible. They serve us three courses of breakfast on fancy china and in crystal stemware. They give H both orange juice and chocolate milk, and her mind is blown. The Belgian waffles with poached pears on top blew mine. I'm sad to leave.
Back on the road. We have plans to stop in Berkeley Springs, WV, another cute little town, where we often take a coffee break. Get there without stopping, head to the coffee shop (Fairfax Coffee House). Put a quarter (25¢) in the meter and go inside for 2 adult coffees and one kid blueberry muffin (+ tip $18.55). It's beautiful out, so we eat/drink in Berkeley Springs State Park, which literally across the street/in the middle of town. We end up wandering around for close to an hour, taking our shoes off and putting our toes in the pools of 74.3° water. We also find a snake and a spout to fill our water bottles with the spring water. So much excitement!
Get back on the road. Stop one more time before home for bathroom and snacks ($14.33) and top off the gas ($18.41) while we're at it. And finally, we're home!

Reflection: This feels about right spending-wise. We don't eat out with nearly this frequency when we're at home, but nothing we bought this week is out of the norm for us. (Except that parking fee. Still shaking my head at myself for that one.) When I type out my assets/debt section, I feel very off from what so many of the rest of you guys have set up, but I think this is because I'm prioritizing paying off our student loan debt and building liquid savings? Well, and because I'm not that financially savvy. But I really learn so much from you guys here!

I put a lot of work into collecting as much possible information on each brawler. From the game, beta, youtubers, twitter accounts, start park website, maps in game and brawl talks. I am fascinated by the lore of brawl stars and the treasure hunt they have laid out for it. I noticed there was no good place to see lore specifically for a certain brawler. I'd like to discuss theories and possibly add more information I may have overlooked. WE MUST FIGURE OUT THE SECRETS OF STARR PARK.
8-Bit - Old arcade machine described as being very difficult. They were awakened by a gem as shown by a brawl stars cinematic. Destroy senselessly with his lasers just to prove he was still capable despite being such an old machine. It may have also been revenge for one of his missing guns and hating their previous players. Bad players may have included Bull, Bea, Brock, and Surge. Was possibly under the control of someone before the project laser event that occured in game. He is clearly more than just an arcade machine due to Kairostim lies saying he's just a normal arcade machine. His place in Starr Park is the Starrcade.
Amber - Performer at Pocos Band Stand which is like a festival. She is known for subpar fire dancing. Only starting fire spinning and breathing to compete with Poco and El primo as an entertainer. May be Spude affiliated (Rey video)
Angelo - Swamp of Love member. Lives in the tunnels. Manipulative like Willow so they get along. Enjoys gossipping about other brawlers usually to cause a fight. He is a cupid turned mosquito apparently, maybe the effects of the swamp. Could be a swamp due to toxic waste disposal.
Ash - They are a scottish person/creature tired of litter and rats at the Castle Courtyard. Uses a trash can as protective armor due to the sheer amount of trash and rats. May be based on a Brownie. Has blue skin it appears. He gets angry after attacking due to the broom causing so much noise inside the trash can. Secretly eats garbage. The control robots called R.A.T.S which stands for; Rodent Attack Targeting System.
Barley - He is the same series of robot as Darryl and Rico. Their name is Bartlebee. Shown in investor video pouring acid instead of drinks for people. Bartending robot with a short temper. Owns a bar called Barley's. A unicorn horn appears on the starr park website a possible reference to his skin line.
Bea - Entomologist and Rosa's assistant. Obsessed with bees. Shown crying when she stepped on a bee. Works at Starr Park Gardens. Where they create all the plants and creatures_ in Starr park. She captured Eve after she crashed. A woman experimenting with bees in the investor video could be a nod towards her.
Belle - Fugitive and leader of Goldarm Gang. Wife of Sam, mother of Pearl and maybe another mystery child. Based on Belle Starr. They have a gold prosthetic which is where the gang gets its namesake. She robs banks of any town shes in. Unclear if she's only bound to the Wild West area or if she's a performer at all. She is shown in Sam's animation to have some engineering skills. Together with Sam they made Pearl. She appears to just be obsessed with money but actually is after the truth of Starr Park and how to bring it down.
Bibi - She chews Starr Park Gum which is inedible and purple flavor as shown on the starr park website. Inedibility is probably the reason for her ultimate. Bibi is Bull's sister revealed by Kairostime (credible as they source him for most of the lore and mentioned in Retropolis brawl talk). She is a member of a gang alongside Bull and Crow in Retropolis. Hardcore but cute and bit of a nerd. Loves baseball and bubblegum. Bat is called Mr. Bat. Runs a ride in Retropolis called Mr. Bat homerun ride. Apart of Bull's gang.
Bo - They're wearing a Starr Park eagle hat as shown on Starr Park website. Apparently his bow is also from the Starr Park giftshop. Maybe shown in investor video as a hatching eagle. Is listed as Leon's and Nita step-dad unclear if before or after in investor video when they both lost their parents riding the coaster. His home in the park is Rumble Jungle and has survived there for a long time. Eagle hunter shaman, best bowman of tribe.
Brock - Part of arcade trio. Loves arcade games and his rocket launcher. Secretly enjoys dancing. Talks a lot of smack.
Bonnie - The niece of stu and sister of janet. Gets in trouble with her cannon Clyde during stunt shows. She's famous around the park for her stunt of being shot out of Clyde.
Bull - Angry and reckless. Owns a diner in Retropolis. Possibly awakened and enraged by a gem dropped by Dynamike, later stolen by Leon. Part of biker gang with Bibi and Crow. Owns a car that appears on a map. His gun appears on the starr park website captioned saying that it doesn't fire but was shown firing in the background of the investor video.
Buster - Works as projector operator at turbo movie theatre/Starr Park Cinema. Wants to star in their own blockbuster. Their best friend is Fang. There is a sort of projector like toy captioned ?????.rm that could've been a teaser towards them.
Buzz - Dinosaur lifeguard at velocirapids. Likes singing and dancing . Not good at their job part because of his nature and short stature. However he likes bossing people around. Has the x on the back suggesting that Buzz may be a mascot. His hypercharge icon shows that the nostrils are the costume's eye holes. Potentially apart of mascot union strike. May be the B in the BRL - SPU - DE appearing on the picket fence. Further unknown if the SPU-DE is Starr Park Union of Distressed Employees since it's hyphenated. Their whistle and swim trunks appear on the starr park website but curiously enough the whistle sounds like two screams and the swim trunks are very very large. There must be something to the whistle sound.
Byron - Shady, scamming consman that sells potions claiming that they'll heal.
Carl - Robot geologist that enjogs riding in a minecart. Works at the gem mine. His latest obsession is the effects of gems! Potentially is a part of the rejected minecart ride whose schematics appear on the starr park website. Jacky annoys Carl as mentioned in a brawl talk.
Charlie - She is a performer at the Bizarre Circus. She grew up on the streets where she learned tricks before being discovered by the circus. She accepted for the money and soon became the main attraction. She uses her hair to perform her tricks. Often steals money during her shows. They have an obsession with spiders.
Chester - Jester of Candyland. Tries to prank Mandy constantly. He is extremely annoying and extends his pranks to everyone. He will make fun of anyone in his sight. Pranks are Chester's way of showing affection. There's a waiver to sign if you want to know what's in the jack-in-the-box.
Chuck - He was a former conductor of an orchestra before he arrived at Starr Park. Seemed to have given up the orchestra to find the next big thing in music. Now at Starr Park he is the conductor of trains specifically the Ghost Train. He still makes music inspired by the darkness and noises of the Ghost Station. Every once in awhile he performs for Gus.
Colette - Works at the gift shop. Psychopath that documents her obsession of other brawlers especially Spike. Multiple pages in scrapbook dedicated to spike. Weard a spike abd piper pin. She collects memorabilia of brawlers. Interestingly enough there is two Collette's in the investor video. We know that it is Colette because for a small frame before the scene changes their teeth become sharp.
Colt - The star attraction of Starr Park. He is a pretty boy sheriff in wild west. Colt runs a jailhouse in Ranger Ranch alongside Shelly. He may be a model and actor as well. Care about their looks a lot. Secretly does spa treatments for themselves. May have a bit of a crush on Shelly but is definitely her friend, letting her get away with crimes. This is possibly from before she started working with him. Possibly a robot from robot cowboy schematics on Starr Park website. Interestingly enough it's captioned as concerning and the writer not knowing how to feel about it. I think it is likely that Colt is a robot but unaware of it since Kairostim tells a lie that Colt knows exactly who he is, was and will be. He may be more nefarious than good as he opposes the Goldarm Gang. His favorite food is peanut butter sandwiches with the crust cut off.
Cordelius - lives in and protects the enchanted forest. It's unsure if the woods are truly enchanted, toxic or both. Plants poisonous mushrooms all over it as he enjoys gardening. He used to be a normal gardener until the toxicity of the woods drove him mad and trapped him there. His brawl talk hinted that the shadow dimension may be his original home. However, through his name's origin there's a theory that he's being controlled by the mushrooms and as such the mushrooms would be from the shadow dimension.
Crow - Just appeared in Retropolis one day. Used to get picked on but not anymore since he got poison daggers. Apart of Bull's gang. Theory of mine is he was one of the crows that would bring dynamike shiny objects for food and did so with a gem that ended up awakening him.
Darryl - Robot pirate captain made from a barrel. Only became captain to not do work but now forced to defend ship and treasure. He is the same series of robot as Barley and Rico. May have a rivalry with crow as had one of his daggers sticking in his back.
Doug - The most chill dinosaur at velocirapids. Works as hot dog vendor. Reference to recalled dinosaur inflatable eggs shoe on the website. They were recalled due to having a hatching problem. On the envelope you can see that they paid for permit for "beef and veal" products to be imported. Referencing beef hot dogs or just that there were meaty creatures inside the eggs.
Dynamike - Retired miner but still enjoys hanging in the gem mine and blowing things up. Was at one point lost in a mine and thought dead. Has a pet canary. Worked with Jacky. Discovered the purple gems that awakened people. Was killed by Shelly but mysteriously came back to life. Wkbrl affiliated. Seems to believe or is aware that the purple gems spread a sort of infection. Distrusting of Mr. P as penguins have connections to interdimensional birds. I think important part is he knows Mr. P is suspicious. Possibly has prosthetic arms like in beta sketches. Possibly has gone crazier from exposure to the gems and as such couldnt properly explain the situation on the radio. Possibly responsible for Gene. Distrusting of Spike as he is too friendly. May have a secret friendship with Mortis.
Edgar - A rebel emo boy that works at the gift shop with Colette and Griff. He tries to be cool and mysterious but doesn't pull it off. He attacks anyone who gets to close with his animated scarf. The scarf may be a living creature as it's shown to have bones on Edgar's x-ray.
Emz - Uses Z spray hairspray, which is not suitable for hair. Might be the creator of Z hairspray or face of? Shes a social media star. She is supposed to work with her uncle Mortis but barely shows upm Obsessed with Poco who she keeps a photo of on her phone. Name stands for emo mummy zombie.
Eve - Alien flea in a spaceship. Mother of parasites that are ready to infest other brawlers especially Ruff. He is shown as her suitable host. While searching for Ruff her ship crashed maybe causing the gems in the ground to become infected and purple. After crashing she was captured by Bea but has since escaped. On the website a reference to eve is a useless spaceship toy you can buy at starr park.
Fang - Works at Turbo theatre/Starr Park Cinema. Hes a kickboxer and aspiring actor. Usually only landing low budget martial art films. His best friend is Buster. Has a crush on Shelley. Secretly enjoys Princess Diaries.
Frank - Full name is Franklin. Works the Mortuary at day. Well known Dj often performing in the cemetery at night. The former roommate of Mortis (Mortis was too annoying). Destroyed Rico's first love.
Gale - They're the old and slow janitor at the snowtel. He is cranky and overworked. They are shown in the investor's video. Somewhat suspicious due to being mentioned by Kaorostim and being close to Mr. P.
Gene - A magical genie that runs a shop called the lamporium out of Tara's bazaar. He was somehow able to escape his lamp in the past but his powers and brain are trapped still. If we listen to the ranter (dynamike) he says he found Gene's lamp while prospecting and rubbed it. Now Gene is attached to him..
Gray - Silent film actor in Brawlywood. Works alongside Lola and seems to be annoyed by her constant upstaging. Takes method acting too serious. He makes silent, artsy underground movies. Additionally he has mind powers. Tried to be silent but sometimes messes up.
Griff - Greedy head of the gift shop and boss of Edgar and Collette. Hes always grumpy about business being bad. Described as not very clever. He is a human but unclear if he's also a mascot of sorts.
Grom - Buff russian guy. Works as security at the castle in Starr park. Traumatized by kids so he wears a mask to hide his fear. He got this trauma from working at a kindergarten. His best friend is his walkie talkie named Bud. It appears there's someone not Russian talking to him through it. Name translates to thunder. Possibly the reason Starr park sold pins in russian.
Gus - Weird kid in their PJs. Randomly shows up at the Ghost Station. He makes balloon animals for company. Speculated he was killed after following a balloon dog named Spooky and is now bound to the station. Evidence for this is how in his cinematic all the monsters/ghosts ignored him and went for Buster. All this might just be due to the fact that he looks like a ghost and wasn't scared due to be a supernatural enthusiast. Seems to also be obsessed with Spike.
Hank - War survivor shrimp that was being prepared to be eaten until he escaped. He became the fish tank commander supreme in the depths of Starr Park. The tank is a retrofitted fish tank. He seems to be against Otis' spray painting because he likes things clean. He also tries to free sea life fromthe kitchens and markets of Starr Park.
Jacky - Grumpy and foul mouthed. She is a driller. She worked alongside Dynamike. Her loud nature and tools annoys Carl.
Janet - Part of the Stunt Show with her jetpack doing acrobatics. Main attraction as a singer as well. Niece of stu and sister of bonnie.
Jessie - Daughter of Pam. Nani was mad as their nanny. Makes inventions from scraps Pam brings home. Has some part in the radio station WKBRL. Extremely messy. Turret name is scrappy
Kit - Famous for performing at Starr Toon Studios. Though he's famous for playing only cartoon cat roles and is not satisfied with just that. Dreams about one day getting back into acting.
Larry and Lawrie - They are Security at Starr Park. Maintaining order in the park. Larry is the good bot that uses explosives. He sells tickets and loves rules. Lawrie is the older, bad bot that uses a shotgun. He enjoys enforcing rules.
Leon - Lost parents riding rollercoaster at Starr Park. Probably one of the feral children in the jungle before meeting Bo, that Dynamike talks about on WKBRL. Awakened by stealing Bull's gem. Seem to cause trouble around the park with Nita. Stepfather is Bo and sister is Nita. Home is Rumble Jungle. They have ninja abilities which help with their introvertedness.
Lola - Diva and actress at Brawlywood. Part time guide as well. They are the main star doing soap operas and dramas. Obsessed with self and shiny things. Has an evil side. She'll Whatever it takes to be in the spotlight. Her ultimate is just a diamond necklace creating an illusion. Green gems with Australian currency are shown on the Starr park website possibly as reference to Lola.
Lou - Snow cone machine that sells snowcones at the snowtel. They are very friendly. Hasn't made a sale because they give them away.
Maisie - Security and danger prevention/ safety and maintenance at the theatre. She may cause the destruction sometimes though. Wrangles Fang and Buster. She has a love-hate kind of big sister dynamic with them. Her position may extend further than just the theatre as shown from loading screens also the fact that it's been shown that she extinguishes fires and there's no way to do so at starr park besides a single water tower (that may or may not be the surveillance hub.). The fire extinguisher is her prosthetic arm.
Mandy - CEO/Queen of Candyland and menace. Runs Mandy Rainbow Candy. Disguised as a sweet girl in front of cameras but alone she's always cranky. This is often due to Chester or customers. She has a love-hate relationship with Chester. Sells candy with her assistant gummy bear Nita.
Max - speedster super in Super City. She's not quite a superhero yet according to brawl talk. Probably due to not sticking around long enough to actually help. Has their own line of energy drinks (max energy).
Meg - A very smart max energy vending machine repair technician that aspires to be like Max and Surge. Though Max doesn't think Meg is ready yet. However, it seems she does all the heroing while Max and Surge just entertain. Her ultimate is an augmented vending machine repair bot named Rob. They made it because they know they're too weak to be a superhero on her own.
Melodie - A popular Karaoke singer at Starr Park. Enjoys singing K-Pop. She appears to go through mood swings, sometimes acting sweet and other times very harsh.
Mico - Notorious showboater and liar. He works as the boom guy for Brawlywood. Acts as if he is famous by dropping big names. He genuinely thinks he's the biggest directoactor in Brawlywood. He has a very short temper and can't take a joke.
Mr. P - Was possibly much more important previously at Starr park noteworthy of being the overall mascot. We know for a fact they're a mascot due to seeing their skeleton in an animation. Runs and operates the snowtel. Works as bellhop also maybe just to have access to luggage. The original designer of the penguin mascot has gone missing as captioned under penguin sketches on the starr park website. My theory is that Mr. P was the designer. There's a popular theory, based on a caption under a stuffed Mr. p on the website saying the penguin is dirty, that he is an antagonist. His name may possibly be Corbin Peloton which I believe was also the original narrator in the investor video.
Mortis - Grumpy, old and creepy. Runs Mortis Mortuary and prepares bodies. Now that nobody can die at Starr Park though he's been a little disappointed. He is Emz uncle and a vampire. A coffin appears on the starr park website and is captioned as a bed frame. As a vampire it's likely where Mortis sleeps but unclear if he actually does use it as a bedframe. The beach shovel from his skin also appears on the website. Once again showcasing that skins also play apart in the starr park operation maybe when they work in different parts of the theme park.
Nani - Made as a nanny for Jessie by Pam. Though Nani barely keeps up with Jessie. Has a remote control spy cam/explosive named Peep. Was an old security robot until Pam retrofitted her into a nanny cam.
Nita - Lost parents riding the rollercoaster in investor video. Probably one of the feral children in the jungle before meeting Bo, that Dynamike talks about on Wkbrl. Seemed to have been awakened after stealing gem from Bull. Stepfather is Bo and brother is Leon. Home is Rumble Jungle in the park. Potentially raised in shamanism. Bruce the bear. Otis - Mysterious creature living in the Underwater Paintball Arena which is in the depths of Starr Park. Hangs out with a starfish pal named Cil. Otis uses her as a stencil for his art. Enjoys making graffiti around the park. Sometimes falls asleep while doing their graffiti.
Pam - Mother of Jessie and creator of Nani. Looks for scraps to make inventions and weapons. Saddened that her work at the Junkyard keeps her from Jessie. May be Spude affiliated (rey) and wkbrl affiliated. I believe appears in the investor video as a woman that moves a board in the background.
Pearl - She is a member of the Goldarm Gang. Sam and Belle created her. It is strange due to Sam's hatred of robots but everyone likes cookies. She is stated as being like a daughter to them. Anyone that messes with Sam and Belle receives her wrath.
Penny - The sidekick of Darryl. Loves coins and blowing things up. Cannon's name is Lenny. Usually followed around by Tick.
Piper - Cheerful baker. Bakes grenades. In love with Rico. May be a prominent figure at Starr Park as they appear on trading cards and in a movie done by Starr Park entertainment called the Umbrella Bandit. Her past is secret and she doesn't talk about it.
Poco - Dead former mariachi member. Unclear if they died due to exposure to gem causing him to burn up. Continues playing their ghostly guitar to try and win fans back from rival band. As shown on starr park website there are Poco animatronics.
Primo - Works at El brunchador. Wrestling themed restaurant. He was a regular man until hit by a meteor. Unclear if its his story or if hes a mascot and this is fake origin. His face is a secret but we know he has black hair and a mustache. The other performers don't get along with him.
Rico - He is a gumball machine robot. A gumball machine can be shown on the Starr Park website and may be the same one used to make Rico. He is the same series of robot as Barley and Darryl. Formerly in love with a vending machine as shown in cinematic. He is in love with Piper. He is known for his trickshot. Used to work ball pit at the arcade.
Rosa - Boxer and Botanist. Survived in jungle by punching plants. Works at Starr Park Gardens. Where they create all the plants and creatures_ in Starr park. Her assistant is Bea. Likes roses. Probably meaningless but there's a coupon on the start park site that expired on their release date. The coupon was for El brunchador maybe symbolizing the end of El primo being the only puncher.
Rt - Supposed to be an information kiosk. Cassette and CCTV awakened by a gem. Possibly combination of Rik the security guard as well. Spies on everyone and knows their secrets. He keeps data on every brawler. The former mentioned water tower is shown in animation as a surveillance headquarters. Home is Starr Park Hub where you can get directions. They report to ?
Ruff - Intelligent strategist and a dog that walks on two legs. Leader of Starr Force. Enemy is Eve due to him being the perfect host for her kids. The enemy of Starr Force is the Worst Bunch.
Sam - Full name Sam Bronson. They're a fugitive and outlaw at starr park. Part of the Goldarm Gang. Hates robots at starr park and has a personal vendetta against them. Possibly due to his old position as a factory hand. Husband of Belle, father of Pearl and maybe another mystery child. Keeps Belle from going too far. May terrorize the Robot Factory in Starr Park.
Sandy - A boy cursed with eternal sleepiness. Somehow also has control over sand. Runs the flying mattress ride at Tara's bazaar. He tries to help his older sister Tara but often falls asleep before he can.
Shelly - Occupies the Wild west. Robs people but gets away with it due to the sheriff's crush or friendship with her. It's unclear if she has become more of a heroine as she's been shown working with Colt at Ranger Ranch. However she may still be more nefarious than good as she opposes the Goldarm Gang. Owns a cat named Kit either named sfter the Starr Toons star or was them before augmenting.
Spike - A cactus imported to the theme park from Ivan's cactus farm, as shown by an ad on the starr park website. The cactus was awakened by a gem. Spike got their holes accidentally from a shootout. He has a lot of trauma. Everyone thinks he's very friendly. Appears to have become sort of a mascot as they were put on socks, have hedges shaped like and have a mask that starr park sold. His home is Ranger Ranch as a sidekick.
Sprout - Created by Bea and Rosa by mixing nature and technology. They possibly plant things around Starr Park as their codename is Wally.
Stu - Robot uncle and caretaker of Bonnie and Janet. Though in RT's animation it shows the three having dinner so maybe he's not supposed to be. Name might be short for stunt or stand for starr park testing unit. He is a crash test bot used to test new attractions at starr park. People liked seeing him crash so he ended up with a stunt show. He is an award winning stunt performer.
Squeak - Alien-being evolved from the cumulative drool on Ruff's toys due to an incident. Incident may have been Eve. He throws toys covered in sticky drool. Seems to enjoy fetch. Loves Ruff a lot.
Surge - Soda fountain robot protector of Super City. Powered by energy drinks, potentially max energy. Doesn't do much heroing usually just parties, and hands out drinks.
Tara - She has her own bazaar. Predicts fortunes of visitors with tarot cards. Often giving them a bad one and trying to sell them good luco charms. Her younger brother is Sandy. Her ultimate may have toes to the shadow dimension..
Tick - Follows Penny arounds. Self destructs his own head when scared.
Willow - She is a swamp creature that guards the Tunnel of Love while also being a gondoliera. She resides in the Swamp of Love. She manipulates people with the things they love and then takes control of their minds. She may be a shaman.
P.S Section:
In case anyone is able to: There a some curious photos on the starr park website I believe should be investigated if not already. One being a picture of a tunnel and there may be a slightly obscured QR code on it.
There is a photo of a spoon and a collection of plates with areas of starr park displayed but you can't really make out clearly.
There is a telegram between TS and Starr Park. It appears TS is a potential investor. There is weird symbols and things I can't make out with it.
Answer why there is so many 10's and 01's appearing as dates for things.
Why the key chain really emphasizes FOR the KEYS.
There has to be hidden secrets to the spaghetti. It was mentioned to much by the ranter. About how things are hidden in the meatballs.
And maybe it's not investigation worthy but I do think there is something to why pictures are labeled stained, Mr. P burn under the flipper, or broken but from my perspective I can't see any stain or crack on such objects.

I put a lot of work into collecting as much possible information on each brawler. From the game, beta, youtubers, twitter accounts, start park website, maps in game and brawl talks. I am fascinated by the lore of brawl stars and the treasure hunt they have laid out for it. I noticed there was no good place to see lore specifically for a certain brawler. I'd like to discuss theories and possibly add more information I may have overlooked. WE MUST FIGURE OUT THE SECRETS OF STARR PARK.
8-Bit - Old arcade machine described as being very difficult. They were awakened by a gem as shown by a brawl stars cinematic. Destroy senselessly with his lasers just to prove he was still capable despite being such an old machine. It may have also been revenge for one of his missing guns and hating their previous players. Bad players may have included Bull, Bea, Brock, and Surge. Was possibly under the control of someone before the project laser event that occured in game. He is clearly more than just an arcade machine due to Kairostim lies saying he's just a normal arcade machine. His place in Starr Park is the Starrcade.
Amber - Performer at Pocos Band Stand which is like a festival. She is known for subpar fire dancing. Only starting fire spinning and breathing to compete with Poco and El primo as an entertainer. May be Spude affiliated (Rey video)
Angelo - Swamp of Love member. Lives in the tunnels. Manipulative like Willow so they get along. Enjoys gossipping about other brawlers usually to cause a fight. He is a cupid turned mosquito apparently, maybe the effects of the swamp. Could be a swamp due to toxic waste disposal.
Ash - They are a scottish person/creature tired of litter and rats at the Castle Courtyard. Uses a trash can as protective armor due to the sheer amount of trash and rats. May be based on a Brownie. Has blue skin it appears. He gets angry after attacking due to the broom causing so much noise inside the trash can. Secretly eats garbage. The control robots called R.A.T.S which stands for; Rodent Attack Targeting System.
Barley - He is the same series of robot as Darryl and Rico. Their name is Bartlebee. Shown in investor video pouring acid instead of drinks for people. Bartending robot with a short temper. Owns a bar called Barley's. A unicorn horn appears on the starr park website a possible reference to his skin line.
Bea - Entomologist and Rosa's assistant. Obsessed with bees. Shown crying when she stepped on a bee. Works at Starr Park Gardens. Where they create all the plants and creatures_ in Starr park. She captured Eve after she crashed. A woman experimenting with bees in the investor video could be a nod towards her.
Belle - Fugitive and leader of Goldarm Gang. Wife of Sam, mother of Pearl and maybe another mystery child. Based on Belle Starr. They have a gold prosthetic which is where the gang gets its namesake. She robs banks of any town shes in. Unclear if she's only bound to the Wild West area or if she's a performer at all. She is shown in Sam's animation to have some engineering skills. Together with Sam they made Pearl. She appears to just be obsessed with money but actually is after the truth of Starr Park and how to bring it down.
Bibi - She chews Starr Park Gum which is inedible and purple flavor as shown on the starr park website. Inedibility is probably the reason for her ultimate. Bibi is Bull's sister revealed by Kairostime (credible as they source him for most of the lore and mentioned in Retropolis brawl talk). She is a member of a gang alongside Bull and Crow in Retropolis. Hardcore but cute and bit of a nerd. Loves baseball and bubblegum. Bat is called Mr. Bat. Runs a ride in Retropolis called Mr. Bat homerun ride. Apart of Bull's gang.
Bo - They're wearing a Starr Park eagle hat as shown on Starr Park website. Apparently his bow is also from the Starr Park giftshop. Maybe shown in investor video as a hatching eagle. Is listed as Leon's and Nita step-dad unclear if before or after in investor video when they both lost their parents riding the coaster. His home in the park is Rumble Jungle and has survived there for a long time. Eagle hunter shaman, best bowman of tribe.
Brock - Part of arcade trio. Loves arcade games and his rocket launcher. Secretly enjoys dancing. Talks a lot of smack.
Bonnie - The niece of stu and sister of janet. Gets in trouble with her cannon Clyde during stunt shows. She's famous around the park for her stunt of being shot out of Clyde.
Bull - Angry and reckless. Owns a diner in Retropolis. Possibly awakened and enraged by a gem dropped by Dynamike, later stolen by Leon. Part of biker gang with Bibi and Crow. Owns a car that appears on a map. His gun appears on the starr park website captioned saying that it doesn't fire but was shown firing in the background of the investor video.
Buster - Works as projector operator at turbo movie theatre/Starr Park Cinema. Wants to star in their own blockbuster. Their best friend is Fang. There is a sort of projector like toy captioned ?????.rm that could've been a teaser towards them.
Buzz - Dinosaur lifeguard at velocirapids. Likes singing and dancing . Not good at their job part because of his nature and short stature. However he likes bossing people around. Has the x on the back suggesting that Buzz may be a mascot. His hypercharge icon shows that the nostrils are the costume's eye holes. Potentially apart of mascot union strike. May be the B in the BRL - SPU - DE appearing on the picket fence. Further unknown if the SPU-DE is Starr Park Union of Distressed Employees since it's hyphenated. Their whistle and swim trunks appear on the starr park website but curiously enough the whistle sounds like two screams and the swim trunks are very very large. There must be something to the whistle sound.
Byron - Shady, scamming consman that sells potions claiming that they'll heal.
Carl - Robot geologist that enjogs riding in a minecart. Works at the gem mine. His latest obsession is the effects of gems! Potentially is a part of the rejected minecart ride whose schematics appear on the starr park website. Jacky annoys Carl as mentioned in a brawl talk.
Charlie - She is a performer at the Bizarre Circus. She grew up on the streets where she learned tricks before being discovered by the circus. She accepted for the money and soon became the main attraction. She uses her hair to perform her tricks. Often steals money during her shows. They have an obsession with spiders.
Chester - Jester of Candyland. Tries to prank Mandy constantly. He is extremely annoying and extends his pranks to everyone. He will make fun of anyone in his sight. Pranks are Chester's way of showing affection. There's a waiver to sign if you want to know what's in the jack-in-the-box.
Chuck - He was a former conductor of an orchestra before he arrived at Starr Park. Seemed to have given up the orchestra to find the next big thing in music. Now at Starr Park he is the conductor of trains specifically the Ghost Train. He still makes music inspired by the darkness and noises of the Ghost Station. Every once in awhile he performs for Gus.
Colette - Works at the gift shop. Psychopath that documents her obsession of other brawlers especially Spike. Multiple pages in scrapbook dedicated to spike. Weard a spike abd piper pin. She collects memorabilia of brawlers. Interestingly enough there is two Collette's in the investor video. We know that it is Colette because for a small frame before the scene changes their teeth become sharp.
Colt - The star attraction of Starr Park. He is a pretty boy sheriff in wild west. Colt runs a jailhouse in Ranger Ranch alongside Shelly. He may be a model and actor as well. Care about their looks a lot. Secretly does spa treatments for themselves. May have a bit of a crush on Shelly but is definitely her friend, letting her get away with crimes. This is possibly from before she started working with him. Possibly a robot from robot cowboy schematics on Starr Park website. Interestingly enough it's captioned as concerning and the writer not knowing how to feel about it. I think it is likely that Colt is a robot but unaware of it since Kairostim tells a lie that Colt knows exactly who he is, was and will be. He may be more nefarious than good as he opposes the Goldarm Gang. His favorite food is peanut butter sandwiches with the crust cut off.
Cordelius - lives in and protects the enchanted forest. It's unsure if the woods are truly enchanted, toxic or both. Plants poisonous mushrooms all over it as he enjoys gardening. He used to be a normal gardener until the toxicity of the woods drove him mad and trapped him there. His brawl talk hinted that the shadow dimension may be his original home. However, through his name's origin there's a theory that he's being controlled by the mushrooms and as such the mushrooms would be from the shadow dimension. Crow - Just appeared in Retropolis one day. Used to get picked on but not anymore since he got poison daggers. Apart of Bull's gang. Theory of mine is he was one of the crows that would bring dynamike shiny objects for food and did so with a gem that ended up awakening him.
Darryl - Robot pirate captain made from a barrel. Only became captain to not do work but now forced to defend ship and treasure. He is the same series of robot as Barley and Rico. May have a rivalry with crow as had one of his daggers sticking in his back.
Doug - The most chill dinosaur at velocirapids. Works as hot dog vendor. Reference to recalled dinosaur inflatable eggs shoe on the website. They were recalled due to having a hatching problem. On the envelope you can see that they paid for permit for "beef and veal" products to be imported. Referencing beef hot dogs or just that there were meaty creatures inside the eggs.
Dynamike - Retired miner but still enjoys hanging in the gem mine and blowing things up. Was at one point lost in a mine and thought dead. Has a pet canary. Worked with Jacky. Discovered the purple gems that awakened people. Was killed by Shelly but mysteriously came back to life. Wkbrl affiliated. Seems to believe or is aware that the purple gems spread a sort of infection. Distrusting of Mr. P as penguins have connections to interdimensional birds. I think important part is he knows Mr. P is suspicious. Possibly has prosthetic arms like in beta sketches. Possibly has gone crazier from exposure to the gems and as such couldnt properly explain the situation on the radio. Possibly responsible for Gene. Distrusting of Spike as he is too friendly. May have a secret friendship with Mortis.
Edgar - A rebel emo boy that works at the gift shop with Colette and Griff. He tries to be cool and mysterious but doesn't pull it off. He attacks anyone who gets to close with his animated scarf. The scarf may be a living creature as it's shown to have bones on Edgar's x-ray.
Emz - Uses Z spray hairspray, which is not suitable for hair. Might be the creator of Z hairspray or face of? Shes a social media star. She is supposed to work with her uncle Mortis but barely shows upm Obsessed with Poco who she keeps a photo of on her phone. Name stands for emo mummy zombie.
Eve - Alien flea in a spaceship. Mother of parasites that are ready to infest other brawlers especially Ruff. He is shown as her suitable host. While searching for Ruff her ship crashed maybe causing the gems in the ground to become infected and purple. After crashing she was captured by Bea but has since escaped. On the website a reference to eve is a useless spaceship toy you can buy at starr park.
Fang - Works at Turbo theatre/Starr Park Cinema. Hes a kickboxer and aspiring actor. Usually only landing low budget martial art films. His best friend is Buster. Has a crush on Shelley. Secretly enjoys Princess Diaries.
Frank - Full name is Franklin. Works the Mortuary at day. Well known Dj often performing in the cemetery at night. The former roommate of Mortis (Mortis was too annoying). Destroyed Rico's first love.
Gale - They're the old and slow janitor at the snowtel. He is cranky and overworked. They are shown in the investor's video. Somewhat suspicious due to being mentioned by Kaorostim and being close to Mr. P.
Gene - A magical genie that runs a shop called the lamporium out of Tara's bazaar. He was somehow able to escape his lamp in the past but his powers and brain are trapped still. If we listen to the ranter (dynamike) he says he found Gene's lamp while prospecting and rubbed it. Now Gene is attached to him.
Gray - Silent film actor in Brawlywood. Works alongside Lola and seems to be annoyed by her constant upstaging. Takes method acting too serious. He makes silent, artsy underground movies. Additionally he has mind powers. Tried to be silent but sometimes messes up.
Griff - Greedy head of the gift shop and boss of Edgar and Collette. Hes always grumpy about business being bad. Described as not very clever. He is a human but unclear if he's also a mascot of sorts.
Grom - Buff russian guy. Works as security at the castle in Starr park. Traumatized by kids so he wears a mask to hide his fear. He got this trauma from working at a kindergarten. His best friend is his walkie talkie named Bud. It appears there's someone not Russian talking to him through it. Name translates to thunder. Possibly the reason Starr park sold pins in russian.
Gus - Weird kid in their PJs. Randomly shows up at the Ghost Station. He makes balloon animals for company. Speculated he was killed after following a balloon dog named Spooky and is now bound to the station. Evidence for this is how in his cinematic all the monsters/ghosts ignored him and went for Buster. All this might just be due to the fact that he looks like a ghost and wasn't scared due to be a supernatural enthusiast. Seems to be obsessed with Spike.
Hank - War survivor shrimp that was being prepared to be eaten until he escaped. He became the fish tank commander supreme in the depths of Starr Park. The tank is a retrofitted fish tank. He seems to be against Otis' spray painting because he likes things clean. He also tries to free sea life fromthe kitchens and markets of Starr Park.
Jacky - Grumpy and foul mouthed. She is a driller. She worked alongside Dynamike. Her loud nature and tools annoys Carl.
Janet - Part of the Stunt Show with her jetpack doing acrobatics. Main attraction as a singer as well. Niece of stu and sister of bonnie.
Jessie - Daughter of Pam. Nani was mad as their nanny. Makes inventions from scraps Pam brings home. Has some part in the radio station WKBRL. Extremely messy. Turret name is scrappy
Kit - Famous for performing at Starr Toon Studios. Though he's famous for playing only cartoon cat roles and is not satisfied with just that. Dreams about one day getting back into acting.
Larry and Lawrie - They are Security at Starr Park. Maintaining order in the park. Larry is the good bot that uses explosives. He sells tickets and loves rules. Lawrie is the older, bad bot that uses a shotgun. He enjoys enforcing rules.
Leon - Lost parents riding rollercoaster at Starr Park. Probably one of the feral children in the jungle before meeting Bo, that Dynamike talks about on WKBRL. Awakened by stealing Bull's gem. Seem to cause trouble around the park with Nita. Stepfather is Bo and sister is Nita. Home is Rumble Jungle. They have ninja abilities which help with their introvertedness.
Lola - Diva and actress at Brawlywood. Part time guide as well. They are the main star doing soap operas and dramas. Obsessed with self and shiny things. Has an evil side. She'll Whatever it takes to be in the spotlight. Her ultimate is just a diamond necklace creating an illusion. Green gems with Australian currency are shown on the Starr park website possibly as reference to Lola.
Lou - Snow cone machine that sells snowcones at the snowtel. They are very friendly. Hasn't made a sale because they give them away.
Maisie - Security and danger prevention/ safety and maintenance at the theatre. She may cause the destruction sometimes though. Wrangles Fang and Buster. She has a love-hate kind of big sister dynamic with them. Her position may extend further than just the theatre as shown from loading screens also the fact that it's been shown that she extinguishes fires and there's no way to do so at starr park besides a single water tower (that may or may not be the surveillance hub.). The fire extinguisher is her prosthetic arm.
Mandy - CEO/Queen of Candyland and menace. Runs Mandy Rainbow Candy. Disguised as a sweet girl in front of cameras but alone she's always cranky. This is often due to Chester or customers. She has a love-hate relationship with Chester. Sells candy with her assistant gummy bear Nita.
Max - speedster super in Super City. She's not quite a superhero yet according to brawl talk. Probably due to not sticking around long enough to actually help. Has their own line of energy drinks (max energy).
Meg - A very smart max energy vending machine repair technician that aspires to be like Max and Surge. Though Max doesn't think Meg is ready yet. However, it seems she does all the heroing while Max and Surge just entertain. Her ultimate is an augmented vending machine repair bot named Rob. They made it because they know they're too weak to be a superhero on her own.
Melodie - A popular Karaoke singer at Starr Park. Enjoys singing K-Pop. She appears to go through mood swings, sometimes acting sweet and other times very harsh.
Mico - Notorious showboater and liar. He works as the boom guy for Brawlywood. Acts as if he is famous by dropping big names. He genuinely thinks he's the biggest directoactor in Brawlywood. He has a very short temper and can't take a joke.
Mr. P - Was possibly much more important previously at Starr park noteworthy of being the overall mascot. We know for a fact they're a mascot due to seeing their skeleton in an animation. Runs and operates the snowtel. Works as bellhop also maybe just to have access to luggage. The original designer of the penguin mascot has gone missing as captioned under penguin sketches on the starr park website. My theory is that Mr. P was the designer. There's a popular theory, based on a caption under a stuffed Mr. p on the website saying the penguin is dirty, that he is an antagonist. His name may possibly be Corbin Peloton which I believe was also the original narrator in the investor video.
Mortis - Grumpy, old and creepy. Runs Mortis Mortuary and prepares bodies. Now that nobody can die at Starr Park though he's been a little disappointed. He is Emz uncle and a vampire. A coffin appears on the starr park website and is captioned as a bed frame. As a vampire it's likely where Mortis sleeps but unclear if he actually does use it as a bedframe. The beach shovel from his skin also appears on the website. Once again showcasing that skins also play apart in the starr park operation maybe when they work in different parts of the theme park.
Nani - Made as a nanny for Jessie by Pam. Though Nani barely keeps up with Jessie. Has a remote control spy cam/explosive named Peep. Was an old security robot until Pam retrofitted her into a nanny cam.

Rico - He is a gumball machine robot. A gumball machine can be shown on the Starr Park website and may be the same one used to make Rico. He is the same series as Darryl and Barley. Formerly in love with a vending machine as shown in cinematic. He is in love with Piper. He is known for his trickshot. Used to work ball pit at the arcade.
Rosa - Boxer and Botanist. Survived in jungle by punching plants. Works at Starr Park Gardens. Where they create all the plants and creatures_ in Starr park. Her assistant is Bea. Likes roses. Probably meaningless but there's a coupon on the start park site that expired on their release date. The coupon was for El brunchador maybe symbolizing the end of El primo being the only puncher.
Rt - Supposed to be an information kiosk. Cassette and CCTV awakened by a gem. Possibly combination of Rik the security guard as well. Spies on everyone and knows their secrets. He keeps data on every brawler. The former mentioned water tower is shown in animation as a surveillance headquarters. Home is Starr Park Hub where you can get directions. They report to ?
Ruff - Intelligent strategist and a dog that walks on two legs. Leader of Starr Force. Enemy is Eve due to him being the perfect host for her kids. The enemy of Starr Force is the Worst Bunch.
Sam - Full name Sam Bronson. They're a fugitive and outlaw at starr park. Part of the Goldarm Gang. Hates robots at starr park and has a personal vendetta against them. Possibly due to his old position as a factory hand. Husband of Belle, father of Pearl and maybe another mystery child. Keeps Belle from going too far. May terrorize the Robot Factory in Starr Park.
Sandy - A boy cursed with eternal sleepiness. Somehow also has control over sand. Runs the flying mattress ride at Tara's bazaar. He tries to help his older sister Tara but often falls asleep before he can.
Shelly - Occupies the Wild west. Robs people but gets away with it due to the sheriff's crush or friendship with her. It's unclear if she has become more of a heroine as she's been shown working with Colt at Ranger Ranch. However she may still be more nefarious than good as she opposes the Goldarm Gang. Owns a cat named Kit either named after the Starr Toons star or was them before augmenting.
Spike - A cactus imported to the theme park from Ivan's cactus farm, as shown by an ad on the starr park website. The cactus was awakened by a gem. Spike got their holes accidentally from a shootout. He has a lot of trauma. Everyone thinks he's very friendly. Appears to have become sort of a mascot as they were put on socks, have hedges shaped like and have a mask that starr park sold. His home is Ranger Ranch as a sidekick.
Sprout - Created by Bea and Rosa by mixing nature and technology. They possibly plant things around Starr Park as their codename is Wally.
Stu - Robot uncle and caretaker of Bonnie and Janet. Though in RT's animation it shows the three having dinner so maybe he's not supposed to be. Name might be short for stunt or stand for starr park testing unit. He is a crash test bot used to test new attractions at starr park. People liked seeing him crash so he ended up with a stunt show. He is an award winning stunt performer.
Squeak - Alien-being evolved from the cumulative drool on Ruff's toys due to an incident. Incident may have been Eve. He throws toys covered in sticky drool. Seems to enjoy fetch. Loves Ruff a lot.
Surge - Soda fountain robot protector of Super City. Powered by energy drinks, potentially max energy. Doesn't do much heroing usually just parties, and hands out drinks.
Tara - She has her own bazaar. Predicts fortunes of visitors with tarot cards. Often giving them a bad one and trying to sell them good luco charms. Her younger brother is Sandy. Her ultimate may have toes to the shadow dimension.
Tick - Follows Penny arounds. Self destructs his own head when scared.
Willow - She is a swamp creature that guards the Tunnel of Love while also being a gondoliera. She resides in the Swamp of Love. She manipulates people with the things they love and then takes control of their minds. She may be a shaman.
P.S Section:
In case anyone is able to: There a some curious photos on the starr park website I believe should be investigated if not already. One being a picture of a tunnel and there may be a slightly obscured QR code on it.
There is a photo of a spoon and a collection of plates with areas of starr park displayed but you can't really make out clearly.
There is a telegram between TS and Starr Park. It appears TS is a potential investor. There is weird symbols and things I can't make out with it.
Answer why there is so many 10's and 01's appearing as dates for things.
Why the key chain really emphasizes FOR the KEYS.
There has to be hidden secrets to the spaghetti. It was mentioned to much by the ranter. About how things are hidden in the meatballs.
And maybe it's not investigation worthy but I do think there is something to why pictures are labeled stained, Mr. P burn under the flipper, or broken but from my perspective I can't see any stain or crack on such objects.
