Ano ba ang anak sa magulang?

2024.05.07 07:51 AmbivertTigress Ano ba ang anak sa magulang?

Gusto ko ilabas to... Sa magulang bakit ba tayo nag anak? What is the reason?
Some people question me (mostly boomers) why ganun ako ka hands on sa mga anak ko.
Why I was asking this? It took me a very long time to realize I have a poor narc parents...
Mother is the loud narc one and father is the timid type enabler narc.
Di nila ako pinagaral kahit they have decent jobs... I am the eldest.
My mother guilt tripped my aunt para pagaralin ako sa college. Why? My aunt is working abroad single walang pamilya...
I grabbed that opportunity. Nagaral ako at nakatapos sa college. Kahit in between dun kinukuha ng nanay ko ung tuition at allowance ko so napilitan ako magworking student at nagwork sa fastfood chain.
Fast forward I have a family of my own. Parents are both retired. When I say poor narc... One day millionare sila gumastos noon at wala silang mga pinagtapos na anak. Ung pera nila ginastos nila as for themeselves... Pag ginastusan ka nila its because they want to feel good about themeselves tapos in the future isusumbat sayu yan. Yung libre na di mo naman kailangan.
Before they retire di na talaga kami okay magkakapatid to them... We learn to avoid or blocked them sa mga rants nila.
Pero it still hurt us kapag masasakit na mga salita na isumpa ka nila dahil lang di ka nabigyan ng certain money or attention na gusto nila...
Now they keep on telling the relatives that kinalimutan na sila because they dont have money na daw.
I know them kasi cheap sa kanila asking for meds sa mga brgy)
All they have to do is to take care of themeselves nakakaalis naman sila.
But di un sapat sa kanila why? Because we are not giving them money... Maluho sila... They want to flaunt na may kaya sila... They always want to brag... But it's the opposite...
We work our assess off ng asawa ko just to give the best for our children...
Makakaya kong siraan nila ako and everything eh...

2024.05.07 07:07 ComfortableBet5981 ChemE to Business?

Hi, I just finished my junior year of chemE. Throughout this year, I have been thinking a lot about post-graduate plans and I really don't think I want to work as a process engineemanufacturing/supply chain after finishing all of my technical classes. I am more interested in the business side of things (consulting, analytics, etc). I don't love chemE but I don't hate it -- don't really have a passion for it but too deep to drop out because of ROI (I'm a first generation, low income college student w/ financial aid + scholarships). Currently, I'm pursuing a minor in management, and I really enjoy economics and the business classes I've been taking.
I want to pick up a second major in econ (I only need 35 more credits) because I think I want to pivot into business right after graduation. If I do pick up the degree, I think I may graduate a semester late (I think my financial aid/scholarships will be able to cover the costs). I have had 1 internship in supply chain (did not enjoy) and 1 upcoming in R&D for a big food manufacturing company. Currently hovering around a 3.45-3.5 GPA.
Do you think an econ degree would be a waste of time? Should I work as an engineer post grad and learn all of the skills on the job and then pivot into management? Should I do a rotational program instead of picking up the econ degree to learn practical skills on the job? Is a chemE degree enough for me to pivot into business early?

2024.05.07 07:04 SadAstronaut777 Idk If I want to keep this job

This is my driest time posting on Reddit but I figured Iā€™d give it a shot since Iā€™m kinda in a predicament right now. I just got hired at a new job after a couple months of being unemployed (Iā€™m 19 and my last job was seasonal for the holidays I wasnā€™t fired or anything I just had a difficult time finding another job in my area) My new work place is a small tea shop chain that is franchised. The manager during my interview seemed to be a pretty great guy, and very chill and laid back. I was hired pretty quickly and I was so desperate to work bc my savings were getting dangerously low and I have to pay my student loans. Me and the manager had agreed on 20 to 25 hours per week, but this past week (after only a couple weeks of working there) he scheduled me for only two four hour shifts which I initially thought ok maybe the schedule was tight this week and ended up picking up two more shifts to make up for it. But this weekā€™s schedule was posted yesterday and I was only scheduled for one day.
He had told me in the interview that he would cut peoples hours if they werenā€™t doing their job or misbehaving which I hadnā€™t payed much mind to because I wasnā€™t about to mess up a job I had finally gotten after so long. And I didnā€™t think I had done anything wrong so I called him and asked him a more professional version of ā€œis there a problem?ā€. He basically told me that the shift leaders had come to him with a concern about me talking to a friend that had come in and ā€œneglecting my responsibilitiesā€ even though we had only spoken for about a minute and it wasnā€™t busy. To which I asked, why the shift leader didnā€™t feel comfortable saying something to me when it happened but he didnā€™t really answer and spent the rest of the call bullshitting me and playing in my face. I was respectful and polite through the whole phone conversation despite how upset I was and he said heā€™d try to fit me in if he could.
Iā€™ve been thinking about this for the last 24 hours and itā€™s really triggering my anxiety because I genuinely donā€™t know what to do. I feel this is approaching unprofessional territory to just cut my hours for something that could have been fixed and acknowledged in 10 seconds and Iā€™m still very new I didnā€™t even get a proper training period so I still donā€™t know a handful of my duties or the rules. I donā€™t want to deal with a gamble in my hours because my family is pretty poor and my mom is disabled and cannot work so I have to support myself with food and paying for school etc. I really want to quite but I also want to give it a chance bc I had gotten my friend to also get hired and he quite his job in order to work there too.
Any advice is greatly appreciated, writing this out has somewhat calmed me down from my anxiety attack. I have also applied to other new jobs postings on indeed in case I do end up quitting.

I am a chef at a chain restaurant in Chicago and today put me through the wringer. I'm finally home on my couch, drinking a beer, watching the X-Files, browsing the internet, getting in some quality veg time. I think the late night crowd is more interesting than most, so chances are that if you're reading this you're probably someone I want to get to know.
Drop me a line and tell me: What was the best thing that happened today? What was the worst? How do you unwind when you are physically and mentally exhausted?
I have a diverse array of interests, in movies, music, books, video games, art history, theater, food, food, and food. Just talk food with me, I want to hear your food opinions. I'm up for friendly chat, I'm up for more than that, just drop me a line if you want to have a good time.

2024.05.07 06:14 Away_Log866 Future of $Aero and where it is headed

If you seen my TA post you know that I don't BS or Fud. I provide you guys helpful insights and where the market is going. This post is going to be a non TA related post and what I think of AERO now and the future of AERO as I've gotten a lot of PMs.Please note that this is NOT financial advice.
If you haven't already, please see my most recent TA posted today. Click here -> TA Update #6
For me to explain my view on AERO. First let me explain my view on Base network.
I truly believe that Base is the future of crypto and will get mass users onboarded. If you think we are saturated in crypto, think again. I truly do believe that Base will outpace and be the king compared to ETH, SOL, ARB, AVAX, BSC, just to name a few... I believe that this is all part of "The Coinbase Secret Master Plan" that Coinbase released back in 2016 (Click here for article).
The Base network currently has around 1.55billion TVL (Defillama). Coinbase has around 100 million plus users and is still growing exponentially every cycle. Currently, Coinbase is developing Smart wallet(Smart Wallet Site) which allows simple easy swap onramp/off ramp to empower everyday normies to buy other coins that are not on exchanges. This is currently already live on testnets and seems like we could see it being released on mainnet in a few more weeks. I'm assuming sometime in the summer.
For those who know how to swap coins with Uniswap/Ray/Jup just to name a few. You know how hard it is to keep track of all those wallet seeds and hassle to route your own swaps between different chains. Not to mention, sometimes those ridiculous fees for low cap coins. Well, smartwallet solve all those issues.( Here is a video of how smart wallet work on testnet)
Imagine a solution where you don't have to save any of your wallet keys, and it utilizes the already existing biometrics system on your device to have access to your accounts. Imagine you don't need to worry about routing your swaps. Imagine you don't need to have multiple wallets. Imagine all your funds in one place. You see the pattern here? Simplicity for the normies that don't go beyond trading on an exchanges. The easier you make it for people to access, the more likely they will give it a shot and try it. The Reason why I think Apple is so successful is because they make everything "simple" to use (This is not apple vs android, please don't start WW3).
Say a new meme coin drop, and you want to buy it. What do you do? You first figure out what chain it is on. Then you figure out if you already have a compatible wallet. Then you have to open a DAPP and verify the address. Then you'll need to transfer funds to the right network and then swap. With a Smart wallet, it does all that for you and is as simple as searching the coin up and pressing the swap button. Think of it as paying for your cup of coffee with an Apple pay. It's so simple and occurs in your daily life that you don't even think about it.
With all these swaps Base network needs a liquidity provider. Well the Base network is not tokenized so they need something else and this is where AERO comes in. Every time when a user swaps on the Smart Wallet, it will utilize Aero as the main liquidity provider as Coinbase has chosen them.
Smart Wallet hasn't even released yet and AERO has already hit an ATH around $2.38. Imagine those 100 million+ CB users getting onboarded and counting more in the future. We are not even in altcoin seasons. For you veterans, you know what true altcoin seasons are like. If this is your first cycle, you won't believe that a world of gains like that can exist when it comes. You can buy a random coin and it will pump 2-3x. It sound euphoria that is because it is, and it's hard to believe.
In regards to price action, I really believe the recent drawback is one of the best sales you'll get. Aero has so much potential and it always have before all these fuds in this community. The tokenomics has not changed one bit. The only thing that has changed is market sentiment and price action. Yes, we all know that the coins are being diluted every week, but I don't plan to hold this for 10 or 20 years. We are only talking about this bull market. How do you know if quantum computing won't break crypto in 5 years, let alone know what AERO's future will be in 10 or 20 years? That is just silly to me. Just to make my point. There are people who dump 100k into meme coins that have absouletly no use and 99% of the memcoins on SOL gets rugged, and people are sitting here worry about a coin that is backed by CB and have insane potentials?
Everyone wants to compare Uniswap to Aero. Why isn't anyone talking about how Uniswap jumped to $6, crashed down to $1 and ran straight to $40 ATH in the bull market? I'm not saying AERO will go that far, but Uniswap didn't have Coinbase backing them up with smart wallets with already 100 million users ready to go. Just food for thought. And if you think that people are not loading up during this set back, you will be fooled. Please go to any coin tracker and I want you to see the change of AERO holders daily and you will see that the holders are increasing every single day.
To conclude this, I personally think that AERO is extremely undervalued at this stage. The biggest push will be Smart wallet and the fast growing Base network that I think will eventually outpace all other networks. Gains won't be instant and I don't expect it to be instant. Since Base does not have their own token we can invest in, the cloesest thing you'll get is AERO. If you believe in Base, then you believe in Aero. Time will tell how AERO will do in this cycle peak and I will most likely revisit this post once the cycle is over.

2024.05.07 05:47 LowDownDirtyBlues [UR][RO] Greeting the Sun

Sometime between today and tomorrow the uneven beam of a singular dim headlight sweeps along asphalt, its twin long dead. Gravel crackles and pops under tire weight. Worn brake pads cry out as the car slows to Park. The doors creak open, slam shut. A boy and a girl stand on either side, their short breaths producing faint clouds of condensation. Shivering, she says to him,
I want to show you something. Itā€™s called, 'Greeting the Sun'. Like in yoga.
This is a vague answer to the questioning of their purpose here. Theyā€™re standing at the farthest end of a lot. Ahead of them stretches an acre of park lawn, manicured, coated in frosty dew, encircled by rows of thick leafless oaks and soaring evergreens.
You mean Sun Salutation?
Youā€™ll see.
The motion is quickā€“ a jerking of her headā€“ beckoning him toward the cement path snaking its way away from them through the green. He follows her, this acquaintance of five or six hours, their way lit by the warm glow of copper lamps, poles patina-green from oxidation. The two of them, this boy and this girl, stroll in early morning silence till they reach the farthest edge of the park. When she steps off the path and into the brush he hesitates.
Wait, he says. Iā€™m not going in there.
Icy gusts whip about, rattling branches, prickling exposed skin, scattering pine needles at their feet. She flips up the fur lined hood of her winter coat, jams her hands in the pockets and marches on.
Hey, he tries again. Don't just walk away from me.
By now only her silhouette is visible in the gloam. She glances backā€“ a shadow with sage colored eyesā€“ says, in a tone reserved for reassuring anxious pups,
Cā€™mon.
It is enough to move him.
With three quick breaths, a patting of his cheeks, he pushes forward. Shouldering through the thicket he nearly rolls an ankle, his flat soled shoes tractionless on the loose soil. Hardly able to see her, he listens for snapping twigs and scuffing rubber against rock as the narrow path slopes downward to a clearing dappled in soft light by a sky now brimming with shades of opal.
A sign swinging loose from a single strand of chain-link reads, Warning: Unstable Cliffā€¦ Keep Away From Edge. The girl pays it no mind, rounds her legs over the waist high fence one after the other. Hands still in her pockets, she approaches the bluff while he watches on from apparent safety. Below them, the rushing interstate, a river of red halogen, its tide rising, banks flooding with the morning commute. Beyond, the major metropolitan area stirs, a forest of steel and brick glinting in pre-twilight.
This is Loverā€™s Lane or Make-out Point or whatever you want to call it, all cities have them; a place high up and secluded, where the local teens sneak away to explore their sexuality, to scream and commune with God unobserved. It is Pride Rock, Mount Sinai and The Parthenon.
Dare me to jump? The girl shouts, arms flung back, head craned out over the drop. The boy steps over the chain, drops his voice an octave, says,
Be serious, what is this?
The girl shuffles backward, sheā€™s winding up for a charge.
Itā€™s on you, she says to him. Yes or no?
Thereā€™s a bolt of sincerity in the way her eyebrows narrow, the way her jaw tightens. He hesitates.
When no response comes she goes to pitch herself over. In a panic the boy scrambles forward, loses his footing, crashes to his knees. He thinks to call her name, realizes heā€™s forgotten it, and instead lets out a hiss,
Donā€™t play.
The girl skids to a stop, her left boot catching inches before the edge. She laughsā€“ a sudden explosive, Hah! Projected over the valley. And it bounces back, each reverberation extending its life a little longer.
Youā€™re crazy, the boy says out of breath, his front coated in dirt. She doesnā€™t respond. Her gaze stays on the vista, flecks of gold have begun to appear over the horizon. Itā€™s almost time. The girl stands straight, sticks her hands in her pockets, says,
Why come all this way to sit in the nosebleeds?
I can see.
You sure?
Sheā€™s watching the clouds now, the tilt of her chin causing her hood to slip. When he approaches the precipice, he tells himself that itā€™s because heā€™s gotten tired of speaking to the back of her head.
Better, right?
If you say so.
His eyes are downcast taking in the craggy dullness below. Amongst the rock and shrubbery thereā€™s evidence of humanity come and gone; plastic and glass, rusted steel, tattered clothing, needles, condoms, what remains of a mattress.
That fall wouldnā€™t kill you, he adds. Youā€™d spend a few days at the bottom with a broken back probably.
A sly grimace, her gaze joins his on the splash zone still too dark to see clearly, she says,
Bird food. Not my best work.
That why weā€™re here?
Stop it. Iā€™m justā€¦ killing time.
Cuz weā€™ve got so much of it.
Itā€™s bird food either way. What's the difference?
For a moment they stand in silence. A red eye flight streaks overhead turbines screaming, loaded with passengers. Their seats upright as they prepare to escape the gravity of this place. Following the plane with an eastward nod, the girl says,
Here it comes.
The star's arrival is an act of creation. The horizon cracksā€“ erupting in a blast of light that refracts across the skyline. A yolk of cosmic ignition, the Sun, creeps upward, burning the atmosphere, scattering swatches of magenta and orange. In this moment the veil feels thinā€“ between here and there, now and then, real and imagined. Great flurries of wind break against the cliff face like waves on the distant coasts. Eyes watery, they fight the urge to blink for fear the vision might end. It is miraculous, pure phantasia: a true beginning.
The girl's hand slips out of her pocket, finds the boy's at his side. Their fingers link. She is warm. He is so cold. Then, low so not to be mistaken as meant for him, she says,
Hello.

2024.05.07 04:46 capatan State of the Board 2024

State of the Board 2024
Signal Chain:
Polytune > Azor Compressor> EQD The Depths (univibe)> Fender Pour Over Env Filter > Boss DS-1 > Arion Tubulator (tubescreamer clone)> JHS NotaKlon > Boss CH-1 Super Chorus > Strymon Timeline(stereo) > Hall of Fame 2 (stereo)> Strymon Iridium
Not on Board:
EHX Soul Food Ibanez DCF- 10 Chorus\ flanger Kelley caverns
Iā€™ve had quite a few changes over the last year, including switching to a primarily ampless set up in the last few months. While nothing sounds as good as my amp, the iridium does sound good enough and provides me with three amps to choose from. The main advantages for me are not having to carry my amp for rehearsal which means I can carry everything in one trip. Also the headphone jack is huge for practicing without disturbing anyone else in the house.

2024.05.07 04:31 foldersandwifi What are some policy solutions / government interventions we should be pushing for? Would love to hear from people that work in policy!

Is it to force Loblaws to be broken up into smaller companies? Limit the amount of upcharge for certain foods? Create supports for smaller chains to create competition?
Genuinely curious to know what are the best practices / what would be a good end game in terms of government policy.
Keep it up guys āœŠ

2024.05.07 04:23 thefreecollege Bakery Goods Flip

So Iā€™m looking at foods on Goldbelly and what do I see? Coconut Custard Pie for $46! The same pie the supermarket chain ā€œStop & Shopā€ or ā€œStew Leonardā€™sā€ in Connecticut sell for under half the price!
Another Lead: Starbucks Competitor (in the retail filled and plain Croissant space) called ā€œVie De Franceā€ lost retail locations since the 90ā€™s and is doing wholesale
Iā€™m thinking, call yourself a business, place an order of about 25-50/ea and test the waters on Goldbelly
As I like to say: Double Your Money
