I am a 25 year old male and I did something in my teens, which destroyed my mental health to the point where I would contemplate suicide.
I am well aware and have this basic principle drilled into my skull, which is that if you have done something horrible and disgraceful, you no longer have the rights and privilege to express any kind of emotions or explain the reasons as to why something happened. In fact the only emotions you can express is regret and remorse all so that it can serve to lessen the pain of the people who have been hurt. If you were to express or explain anything that is irrelevant in service to others such as your own point of view which led you to that point, then people will throw rocks at you and look at you with disgust. In other words all you can do is either take on full responsibility in silence even if it crushes you flat and live with your head low for the rest of your life in shame never to reach any form of happy experiences or continue the destructive path reminiscent to hell itself like a wild animal screeching and wailing as you do more harm to both yourself and others, until someone is robbed of everything or receives death as punishment. At that point the abyss has shown its terrifying face to you and all you can do is look at it in silence as every piece of you crumbles bit by bit straight into the ground.
I stole a bit over £20,000 in the span of 6 years from my own mother.
It started one day when she showed off how much she has saved in cash, as she would spread the money on the kitchen table and tell me to count it all, since she was either too low on energy or couldn't be bothered.
It made me wonder why is it that she isn't keeping most of her money in the bank, and instead in a wallet that would be placed inside the drawer next to her bed or underneath her mattress. I thought to myself, how easy it would be to take little from it in a way that would not be noticed, but I was too naïve as that would only work in short term. I went ahead of myself and did it long term, which fucked me up and strained our relationship.
I used it mostly on Gacha games and some of it on Euro Millions lottery tickets. In the end I was not only bad at the gacha games, but I did not win anything substantial from the lottery tickets.
It basically went from my mother's hard earned money to my gullible mind with intrusive thoughts to someone else's bank account. In return my mother lost that money, because of me and I received temporary cheap dopamine. Even if I wanted to sell the gacha game accounts, It is pretty much impossible, since it is not a physical object and nobody will pay that much for a gacha game account that is not part of the more played gacha games. Alternatively it would've been better if it was trading cards, since those can be sold for quite a lot and you won't have to deal with scammers who pose as buyers.
I was also a NEET for 4 years, which it does not paint a good image on myself. I did at least cook, wash the dishes, do laundry, clean the floors and help with carrying groceries.
However, one day things pretty much blew up and we got in a very serious argument/confrontation. Which resulted in me being told that I will become homeless and I have to figure things out for myself. Then I decided to go back to my father who was a complete POS due to him sexually assaulting and abusing both of us, which really crushed me, as my mother has always placed me under parental alienation. I said to myself that at this point I might as well jump off a high place, since I am screwed either way.

I chose option 3 and lived on egg shells for half an year until I decided to lie myself out of there.
My mother proposed a deal which is to go live separately in a house next to my grandparent's house. In return I have to give a few hundred every month, maintain the cleanliness of the house, help my grandparents with anything and give free labour on weekends to my uncle. As well as save money to finish a building behind my grandparent's house.

I was supposed to go through a Formal Autism Diagnostic Assessment in the UK through the NHS, as my GP thought it would be a good idea to get checked, but that was thrown out of the window the moment I had to go back to my home country.

In April she came back begging and crying and saying she was going to kill herself and she can’t see life without me . I took her back again but now my anxiety is so high and everything she does I question . I can’t stop mentioning the past even though she has done nothing this time around . It has really ruined whatever we had left . She has really been trying . I developed crazy OCD around her checking her phone , wondering what she is doing in her free time . While I wholeheartedly support criticism of even Youtubers, I enjoy (Wendigoon among them) the way IPoS went about doing attempting a takedown video, which was the textbook way of not doing it. I'm leveling my criticism against "Chapter 4: Wendigoon," as for the rest of the video, I have no strong opinions on the other topics.
The video is easy to interpret as being argued in bad faith, and the mixed-negative reception isn't surprising. The IPoS video portion regarding Wendigoon appears to repeat talking points from the youtube drama substantially. He didn’t seem to care to validate or scrutinize his sources, and Buckingham SA's allegation was from Sneako, who just made it up. He makes Wendigoon’s comment on a trans creators page, “We’ll be watching your career with great interest,” into a threat. Several times on social media and in his Unabomber video, Wendigoon has explicitly condemned hatred against trans people and supports their visibility and existence. Honestly, Wendigoon, if I had to place a label, comes across as quite socially progressive in terms of LGBT+ issues. IPoS went on a paranoid rant, recalling when Wendigoon followed him on Twitter, insisting it was malicious. Wendigoon, in a comment on the video, explicitly condemned all the harassment IPoS is receiving and clarified he started following him on social media because he was impressed by IPoS’s Slenderman video.
IPoS arguments boil down to imply guilt by association. Even the reputed boogaloo boy connections are that in its early existence, Wendigoon claims to have made a meme page that was an early breeding ground for the boogaloo boy movement. He explicitly condemns the extremism of the modern movement. He was a teenager then, and his Hawaiian shirts were a staple of some in the movement. Wendigoon claims he enjoys such shirts in his attire. Clothing attire is rarely a strong indicator of political allegiance, except for perhaps imagery such as the swastika in Western society. He also makes pedantic points about Wendigoon’s childhood wealth, which Wendigoon claims was lost quite a while ago as his grandfather and father were involved in organized crime and prosecuted. I agree with IPoS's statement that Wendigoon does have a cult of personality, but from all I’ve seen, he never encourages online harassment and is not personally queer-phobic. Also, the allegations against Mutahar (Some Ordinary Gamers) and the allegations against Mutahar (Some ordinary gamers) are quite spurious. Claiming an unpleasant video thumbnail art of Keffals was used meant he was transphobic despite discussing a Keffals funding controversy and not her trans identity, using her preferred pronouns while doing so.
I somewhat relate to Wendigoon personally; we both reside in Appalachia and have some but not a lot of Cherokee ancestry. Native American folklore and myths have been utilized to pervade many misconceptions, including the Wendigo, but it has been for decades. The cultural context of it has been largely forgotten, but Wendigoon has done his best to explain the history and folklore of the creature. It’s a motif and folklore figure to several tribal nations, with differing interpretations. The wendigo of popular culture and myth are very different. Claiming that Wendigoon has no right to use Wendigo imagery is gatekeeping and problematic. I only mention it because IPoS enters into ‘No true Scotsman’ territory when discussing their life in NC Asheville and comparing it to Wendigoon’s in Kentucky/Tennessee. Appalachia is a more diverse area than many, including IPoS, give it credit for culturally, religiously, and ethnically. If you live here any time, you’ll realize the Appalachians agree on absolutely nothing, whether politics or even who Appalachians are. White nationalism is a national/global issue in the, not just Appalachia, as IPoS makes it out to be. By that logic, you could make the argument that Vermont is a white ethnostate compared to Appalachia (90% v. 80%). There are also very socially conservative areas in California, so his IPoS's point is pedantic and petty. I’m only talking about Southern Appalachia; I can’t speak for the Northern half. IPoS claims you need years of lived experience to write or critique anything. That is a very modern and problematic belief in many regards. By that standard, historical fiction around slavery couldn’t be written if they didn’t experience it. Careful research and study can provide an authentic and respectful portrayals of people and groups, not their own.
Despite trying to copy Hbomb's style IPoS lacks his courtesy. I do not recall once IPoS asking his followers not to harass Wendigoon or anyone else he mentioned. Wendigoon, whatever opinion or valid criticisms he may merit, responded very quickly to the video and implored his followers not to harass IPoS and even apologized for any perceived offense. Honestly, IPoS’s complaints of financial difficulties remind me of a certain de-platformed queer YouTubeplagiarist using his claiming financial difficulties to gain more followers and finance. Still, even he didn’t try to start a harassment campaign in the same video, unlike IPoS. However, IPoS doesn't deserve any amount of the intense homophobic harassment he is receiving in those comment sections and wider social media; as stated by Hbomb, harassment is intolerable and unacceptable.
TLDR: Even if IPoS had good intentions behind the Wendigoon criticism, it was undermined by several instances of misinformation, bias, and insufficient evidence. REMINDER: Harassment is never good, and IPoS does not deserve it!

Okay- I was an AVID Wattpad user during the heyday of 1D and 5SOS fanfics. I came back to the app about a month ago when I was sick, needed a book to read, and remembered the wonder of Wattpad.

I think what is going on there is completely fucked up. I feel sorry for the victims over there, I stay current with what’s going on. We’re very much on the same side in this argument if we’re choosing them.
She’s been seeing more dark videos of death from over there and it’s affecting her a lot. She was saying how she felt helpless and wants to be able to do more. She feels guilty for being able to go and get ice cream while people hold their dead children. I said how she’s doing amazing things in our community here and touching the lives of many people, she can’t put that responsibility on herself. She got upset with me for not sharing things or posts or getting my friends involved. she says I don’t seem to care about the things that are issues important to her.
I personally try to keep my relationships free of politics and focus on what I can reach out and touch, metaphorically. I don’t think we as humans were ever meant to be this connected and our brains aren’t wired for it. Doesn’t detract from the suffering happening around the world, doesn’t mean I can’t do anything, but if I got upset over every ongoing atrocity I’d never have a moment of happiness again.

The Empire is an interplanetary power that controls much of the Known Galaxy. It might seem that the Empire built its power on a multi-million army and a powerful navy, but the truth is slightly different. Of course, the role of the Imperial Armed Forces in creating the Empire's power cannot be underestimated, but the real tool that enabled the emperors to get the Empire to the place it is now was the special services, and in particular the Imperial Inspectorate, which was officially supposed to protect the citizens of the Empire against "terrorism and all persons harming the stability and legal order of the Empire", but in fact it was a highly developed apparatus of terror that murdered hundreds of millions of people throughout the entire existence of the Empire. The influence of the Imperial Inspectorate in the Empire was so strong that even the Emperor himself sometimes feared for his life and the loss of power.
Origin and background of the Great Silence:
In the year 1568 of Imperial Time, power in the Empire was taken over by Emperor Sinar Lythe, the leader of the then largest faction sitting on the Imperial Council - the Old Imperialists. This faction primarily postulated the return of the country to its roots, i.e. the Old Empire, during the rule of the Bantar House. Of all the factions on the Imperial Council, the Old Imperialists enjoyed the greatest prestige, were favored by the Emperor, and were appointed to various leadership positions in many Imperial institutions. For many years, the Emperor eliminated people who could threaten him or the faction he came from. These people wanted more and the Emperor knew it. He realized that if he didn't do anything about it, they would try to take power in the near future. The Emperor slowly began to turn against his own faction, trying to delay everything, but the faction's leaders knew well what was happening and were also preparing their own plan.
Cyseb Kaldine, a close associate of the Emperor and chairman of the Imperial Council on behalf of the Old Imperialists, began to openly criticize the Emperor for his "rash and condemnable decisions". Kaldine also worked closely with the previously mentioned Chief Inspector Aubrin Vervaine, who also wanted to eliminate the Emperor. However, Vervaine, just like the Emperor, did not trust Cyseb, so after a personal conversation with the Emperor, in which he explained his concern about Cyseb's behavior, he was ordered to arrest him and sentence him to death. Then, the Old Imperialist faction plunged into a brutal power struggle that lasted until the Great Silence itself.
While the Old Imperialists were arguing over who should take Kaldine's place, Chief Inspector Aubrin Vervaine was murdered in his own apartment in the Imperial capital, Bantares. A show investigation was initiated into this event, but it did not solve anything, the case ended with the fact that it was assumed that the crime was committed by an assassin hired by the Old Imperialists, who, for reasons that have never been explained, was never caught.
The beginning of the Great Silence:
After this event, the new Chief Inspector of the Imperial Inspectorate was Lex Dystra, former Inspector General of the Department "S" of the Imperial Inspectorate, dealing with "Political-Military Surveillance". He was a man even worse than his predecessor and much more fanatical. Dystra believed that all opponents of the Empire should share the same fate - death. For him, the elimination of millions of lives was just a statistic that allowed the Empire to exist in the long run. However, Dystra was not devoted to the Emperor, but to the Empire, and separated these two entities with a thick line. He believed that if the Emperor began to act to the detriment of the Empire, he should be eliminated. Therefore, the appointment of Lex Dystra as Chief Inspector is considered to be the decline of the "Old Empire".
Dystra, apart from being the Chief Inspector, had an extremely strong position in the Imperial Inspectorate, due to the fact that he was previously the Head of the Department "S", he knew how to deal with the political sphere of the Empire and how to slowly eliminate people who bothered him. Like his predecessor, he saw the Emperor as his greatest opponent and slowly implemented his plan to remove him from power. He knew that the Emperor could not do anything to him, because the Department "S", which he so eagerly used, was entirely under the direct control of Dystra. Nevertheless, Dystra was afraid for his life and was protected by his most trusted people, and seeing that the Emperor was increasingly hot on his heels, he decided to take extremely drastic steps.
In the year 1578 of Imperial Time, in the capital of the Empire, Bantares, in the building of the Imperial Council which was directly connected to the building of the Imperial Citadel, the place where the Emperor himself sat, a terrorist attack took place. Terrorists, using previously planted explosives, blew up the entire western wing of the Council building, killing thousands of people, including dozens of councilors.
A huge panic broke out in the Empire, no one knew what was really happening, and the Imperial Inspectorate remained silent. Finally, the Emperor issued a proclamation to the citizens. He stated that the Imperial Council and himself were brutally attacked by "unspecified militants". He also reported that the Imperial Inspectorate was not up to the task and could not protect the Empire from "a visible and clearly imminent threat". He blamed Lex Dystra for the entire terrorist attack, stating that he was "an incompetent, corrupt and self-centered man." The Emperor urged citizens to stay at home until the whole matter is resolved, because, as he stated, "The Empire is struggling with an internal threat of the highest level."
The truth, however, was that the Emperor was behind the entire attack. He knew that the Imperial Inspectorate was an institution completely opposed to him, so he decided to reach out to the Imperial Intelligence Service, which was still loyal to him. However, the Emperor did not know that Lex Dystra's plan was coming to an end, and just a few hours after the terrorist attack, the Emperor was found in his throne room. Dead. Most likely poisoned.
The death of Emperor Sinar Lythe is considered the beginning of the Great Silence, and Lex Dystra, being directly responsible for the assassination of the Emperor, rested on his laurels, believing that all power in the Empire was subordinated only to him. However, he did not realize that both in the Imperial Inspectorate and in the Imperial Armed Forces a conspiracy had been formed against him, led by the Inspector General of Department "A" (Counterintelligence) Alexin Has Kels. Kels was also the leader of a newly formed faction in the Empire called the New Imperialists, who sought to restore law and order in the Empire, eliminate corruption and cronyism.
In the year 1579 Imperial Time, Lex Dystra was found dead in his office at Imperial Inspectorate Headquarters with a gunshot wound to the head...

Chapter 1
Kelly entered the world during a bitter February winter in 1990, born to Alan and Geri McIntyre, both 27-years-old, residing in a quaint fishing town near the harbor in St. John's, Newfoundland. Alan, a member of the Canadian military reserves, had prompted their relocation from Halifax, seeking new opportunities for his growing family. Geri, a dedicated neonatal nurse, tirelessly juggled night shifts at the local hospital while caring for their two young daughters during the day. Despite their modest beginnings, Alan and Geri were determined to give their children a better life, teaching them the values of resilience and perseverance.
Geri was raised in a close-knit, humble family called the Perrys. Her father, a hardworking coal miner, balanced his sternness with sweetness as he spent his free time fishing or hunting with his sons. Her mother, vibrant and outspoken, managed the household while caring for their four children, often intervening in the daily tiffs between Geri and her younger sister, Charlene. Their parents spent their weekends going to local dances, where they danced the Irish jig and played the fiddle and spoons until their fingers bled. Her father, trained in classical guitar, would sometimes join in on the music when he had enough moonshine in him. Their modest country home, perched by the river, boasted just one bathroom, but despite their financial limitations, they found contentment in their simple life.
Upon reaching 18, Geri ventured to the bustling city of Sydney for nursing school, drawn by the promise of education and opportunity. Despite the distance, she remained deeply connected to her family, frequently returning home to end her homesickness. However, as she embraced the newfound independence of her senior year, her visits became shorter and less frequent, signaling the beginning of her journey into adulthood.
Alan's upbringing was marked by pain and turbulence. His father, an unemployed alcoholic, viciously abused Alan, his eldest son, while directing his anger and hatred towards women at his wife and young daughter. The McIntyre family was known for their unsavory reputation in Halifax, which carried on through Alan's father and his brothers.
Locked in his bedroom for weeks on end, Alan found solace only in his sketches, which served as outlets for his sadness and frustration. Despite being the family's breadwinner, and Alan's main source of comfort, his mother remained stoic, seemingly blind to the suffering inflicted upon her son. Seeking refuge from the chaos at home, Alan often fled to a friend's house, where he could find peace and a warm meal. However, as rumors spread about Alan stealing from local stores to survive, even his friends began to distance themselves, influenced by the stigma surrounding his troubled family background.
Wanting to break from the reputation that followed him, Alan focused on his goals and the future he envisioned for himself. Fueled by unshakeable purpose, he set his sights on a brighter path, determined to break free from the shadows of his family. He pursued admission to the prestigious engineering program at Dalhousie University, despite his lackluster grades and absence of any references. Undeterred by setbacks, Alan lobbied the dean of admissions, his daily visits to the dean's office a testament to his tireless pursuit of his dreams. And in a triumph of willpower over adversity, he secured his place in the engineering program. From then on, Alan would be known as a businessman, breaking free from the stereotype of the neighborhood black sheep.
It wasn't until Geri graduated from nursing school and moved to Halifax that Alan and she met. As it was told to their daughters, they met while dancing to disco at the downtown liquor dome on Halloween night. Amidst the beat and swirling lights, their eyes locked, igniting a connection. For Alan, Geri exuded a calming presence, a stark difference from the constant tension that had defined much of his life. In her, he found a beacon of optimism, a sanctuary from the shadows that had long haunted him.
As the night ended, Alan walked Geri back to her downtown apartment, the promise of a future encounter hanging in the air. Plans for a formal date were made, sealing their newfound connection with a tender kiss on Geri's cheek. Yet, true to his nature, Alan attempted to play the role of a suave charmer, feigning indifference with an attempt to reschedule their date later in the week. Geri's unwavering resolve quickly broke down this facade, insisting on the integrity of their initial plan or none at all. Faced with her steadfast determination, Alan folded, realizing that in Geri, he had met his match in both spirit and heart. They were married on Halloween day a year later.
The eldest daughter, Kelsey, spent almost two years as the McIntyre's only child. It is said by Geri that when Kelsey was born in mid-January of 1988, she looked almost unearthly, like a cherub brought down to earth. Her golden hair, round face, and big rosy cheeks brought them to tears when they were first allowed to hold her in their arms. With dark brown almond-shaped eyes glowing up at her parents' faces with recognition. She was perfect to them. Yet, as they soon discovered upon bringing her home, their newfound bliss was met with restless nights that stretched into teary dawns. Kelsey could not make it through the night without incident and was severely lacking sleep herself. In the wake of these exhausting nights and whispered frustrations, Geri and Alan's seemingly unshakable foundation began to show signs of strain.
Once the idea of Kelly entered the picture, Kelsey was excited for her new built-in best friend, but wary about how this new addition would change things for her. She had been the apple of her parents' eye, the subject of all of their attention and affection. Even at such a young age, Kelsey worried about her new baby sister coming home and taking over, leaving her trailing behind.
When Kelly finally made her grand entrance home from the hospital, Kelsey watched from behind the wooden railings of the staircase, half expecting a tiny intruder to burst out of the bassinet. But when their eyes finally met, something shifted in her. Kelsey saw in Kelly not a rival, but a partner in crime, and she vowed right then and there to be the best big sister she could be.
Their family only lived in Newfoundland for two years, so Kelly had to rely on her sister's later retellings of their short time in the arctic tundra – or so Geri liked to call it. Kelsey was good at storytelling, and whether the stories were true or make-believe, Kelly enjoyed believing them. Kelsey would explain that most days they spent with their mother at home, preparing dinner for their father and baking treats from their family cookbook to hand out to their chatty neighbors. When Geri was working, and Alan was indisposed, they were cared for by a neighborhood sitter. She became Geri's confidant. Geri did not have many friends in St. John's, and during the free time she did have, she spent it with the girls. It was becoming a mundane, monotonous existence she had not imagined for herself. Geri was never even sure if she wanted children, and in the absence of Alan's support, she felt lost in motherhood. She longed for simpler times. Kelsey and Kelly seemed to grow like weeds, becoming fuller of sass and fearlessness as the days moved on to months. Geri was afraid of what the future had in store for them.

Hello everyone, let me start by saying I have absolutely 0 clue about AI art generators and have only seen some of the incredible results online. Now I am very curious about it. I was looking to create some art for my stories and I was wondering what program would be the best to do it? Are there big differences in quality and ease of use?Are they free or do they cost money? I was mostly looking for a program to illustrate characters with specific traits, preferably in many different styles so I can pick what suits my taste best. I am glad to hear your recommendations.
